What’s your quarrel with Sanemi ships? Just a curious question :0??
Oh it’s because people use sanemi ships to devalue the bond between him and genya.
At first glance yes you could assume that sanemi hates genya, but if people would bother to read a little between the lines they would see that Sanemi’s entire world revolves around genya and as does Genya’s revolves around sanemi.
It feels like specifically people use sanemi ships to shit on genya because they think he hates him, they like to imagine that sanemi would pick a girl he was implied to have a crush on by a ladies man (masachika, kanae) or the man he continuously hated throughout the entire series and only found tolerable at the very end during the heat of a battle (giyuu) then I truly urge you to reread the series and actually pay attention to the way sanemi reacts to things vs how he reacts to genya.
Yes the eye poking incident happened and while I hate that sanemi attempted it, you have to realize this man reacts by attacking first and asking questions later, as clearly seen with Tanjirou AND in rengoku’s gaiden. He has no problem being rude and physically violent to teenagers and I’m assuming people of his own age and older.
And yet when he meets genya for the second time he’s verbal in his anger, yes he calls genya worthless, a scumbag and no brother of mine. But its a dramatic difference between flippantly telling him to leave because he has no talent instead of jumping the gun to physically harm him.
Which he only does when genya tells sanemi he has been eating demons, Sanemi’s worst fucking nightmare and the confirmation that’s he’s failing to keep genya safe, his only purpose of life and something that he says himself in the kny novels.
So he snaps, and while it’s not okay it’s still the quite the large difference between how he reacts when he just sees a stranger (rengoku in his gaiden) or giyuu or literally anyone else.
There’s also the fact that my good friend maple pointed out that in the Japanese text when genya is dying he’s essentially baby talking, “because my niichan is the nicest person in the world” — “don’t worry niichan will do something” which is going to be extremely strange for a 16 year old buff boy to be baby talking to his big brother and YET his big brother meets him halfway with “niichan will do something”
Oh and we can’t forget sanemi canonically coming to visit his brother in his sleep after ssv to make sure that genya is okay.
Basically, in a long winded way to say, Genya is the only person that sanemi ever shows any sign of actually caring about, beneath his cruel exterior he still cares enough about his baby brother to come visit him to make sure he’s safe and also to meet his baby talk halfway as genya is in an extremely vulnerable state and what I can assume very fearful too.
So when I see people making fanon sanemi enjoy when genya is physically harmed when sanemi dropped his “I have no brother” act the second genya was sliced and diced by kokushibou and also suffered at the abuse of their father, when I see people make sanemi a huge simp for kanae and giyuu to the point he ignores Genya, or calls genya a faggot and tells him to go kill himself in stupid fucking twitter aus, I get angry and I get hateful of sanemi ships.
No sanemi wouldn’t let his partner call him “nemi” or “niichan” which only genya calls him, no sanemi wouldn’t let someone harm Genya, no sanemi wouldn’t pick anyone whether he they were romantic or platonic to him over Genya his only purpose of living.
And I’m not saying you can’t enjoy sanegiyuu or sanekana or whatever sanemi ship you enjoy, im just saying there’s a way to enjoy it and I will be judging you if you’re ignoring Genya’s importance to sanemi and his character as a whole.

No Nut November
A/n: Did anyone ask for this? No, will I still rewrite this because I didn't like this the first time and came up with what I think is a better trope? Yes. I only meant to make Guns N' Roses and I panicked when people asked for Metallica but I don't want to come out bad so I hope people like this version better than the first :'3
Link to the original
Kirk Lars James Cliff
Tumblr media
Metallica was making a new album but they'd barely worked on it at all and it was getting closer and closer to the date they'd set for it to come out, normally they'd just push it back but they'd already done that twice.
Their manager decided to stick them in a house together, thinking if they didn't have a moment apart they'd actually get work done.
You were their managers daughter and were definitely a fan, when you heard he would be moving in with them you had to come up with an excuse to move with him, you knew he couldn't say no to you with a good enough reason.
You were going to University and you said since it was almost summer break you wanted to visit him so you'd be coming down once school was out.
He hesitated, not wanting your summer to be spent in such an environment, but eventually let you because he'd found a place where you could have your own room. He wanted to let you have your privacy.
You couldn't be more thrilled.
And so, you packed up your clothes and some other essentials, said goodbye to your roommates, you had a flat off campus, and made a quick road trip down to L.A. where your dad was staying with the one and only Metallica.
Your dad welcomed you with open arms and gave you a tour of the house, showing you to your room so you could drop your bags before he introduced you to the guys.
They were all sitting in the living room in the back of the house, there was a wall of windows with a matching glass door leading out to the backyard, a beautiful green lawn with an underground pool all of it fenced in and overlooking a cliff. It was gorgeous but you were more focused on the four men all ogling you as you came down the stairs with their manager.
"I thought you said you were bringing your daughter?" The short one asked, you of course knew him as Lars Ulrich, the drummer.
You dad nodded. "Yeah, this is my daughter, Y/n." He said, gesturing to you. You gave a small wave, biting your lip to prevent the ear to ear grin that was waiting to break out.
"By daughter you meant, like, grown woman?" The blond, James, asked.
"Yeah, it's summer vacation and she wanted to spend some time with dad before she had to go back to University." He explained. They all took in his words, exchanging whispers.
The phone rang, a landline on a table not far from you. Your dad answered it, uttering a few words before he set it down. "Right, I gotta go, all of you be nice." He said, giving you a quick hug and apologizing for having to leave so soon.
He left and you waved the boys goodbye before heading upstairs to unpack some more.
They waited until they heard your door close before they started talking. "Jesus, who would've guessed." Kirk asked, keeping his voice low just to be sure you couldn't hear.
"Who the fuck cares, what the hell do we do?" James asked, keeping his eyes on the stairs where you'd just gone.
"Fuck do you mean 'what do we do'? What do you think we do?" Lars whisper yelled, looking like he just wanted to slap him.
"We can't fuck the managers daughter." Cliff said, fumbling with his hands in his lap.
They kept discussing it, all agreeing that nothing could happen.
Then you came back downstairs in a bikini, holding a towel and a bottle of sunscreen, ready to sit by the pool. You didn't look at them as you walked past but you could feel all their eyes on you as you swayed your hips.
"Twenty bucks goes to whoever can last the longest." James blurted, still watching you through the windows as you rubbed sunscreen up your arms.
And thus the bet began, whoever could last the longest without giving into temptation got twenty bucks, the four men throwing down five dollars each.

Ot7 reaction to passing out after having sex all evening and not being tired at practice the next day
I wrote this thinking you said they were tired at practice... and I don't want to rewrite 😂
Namjoon -
Feels like his legs have been run over by a truck. He went so hard he definitely pulled something. But you just kept saying harder and he couldn't help but give in to you. The boys make fun of him as he limps through the choreo, all of them knowing what happened because this has happened at least twice before.
Seokjin -
Passed out due to overstimulation. Wakes up 20 minutes late and sadly you've had to leave early but you set his alarms... He just slept through them. then feels sticky and gross all day because he didn't have enough time to shower as deeply as he might be liked. He probably gets a little paranoid that the boys are looking at him. But in all fairness halfway through practise. They are all too sweaty to notice.
Yoongi -
He is so grumpy and groany. He didn't mean to go all night but you looked so sexy when he came home that he couldn't help it. Normally if he wants to go that long that he passes out he makes sure there's nothing the next day so he can stay with you and cook breakfast and have cuddles and watch movies. And so he is very annoyed mostly at himself the whole through practise.
Hoseok -
Having passed out the night before he claims that he is completely fine the next morning. He pushes himself through practise like it's no problem. The problem comes when he gets home and his legs turn into jelly
Jimin -
Usually the energizer bunny, he is completely out of it the next day. He is like a robot going through the motions. His legs are used to the strain from all his dance training but mentally he is checked out.
Taehyung -
Doesn't even try to hide that he is tired. He sits down regularly as the others try to work out different motions and allows himself to be dragged through the motions only putting in maximum effort a handful of times after lunch. He is a lost cause and the boys text you to tell you to never do that to him again if it isn't a weekend.
Jungkook -
Gets so angry with himself and ends up pushing himself to exhaustion for a second time, making him completely useless to all of you for even longer

Hi i saw u wanna rewrite akikasa hcs PLEASE WRITE ME SOME I BEG /nf /lh
HJKJSKDKHS AKIKASA anyways I was referring to a short story I wrote a while ago but THIS!!! IS (I think) MY FIRST AKIKASA RELATED ASK!!!! I MUST WRITE!!!!!! All I have to do is figure out which thoughts are based on canon and which ones are AUs-
I took 18 days to finally post this because I kept getting ideas and had to force myself to stop because this is way too long 888 words man this ain't fanfiction also if this is illegible I'm sorry none of my headcanon posts will ever be organized no beta or read more we die like my grades after my orchestra field trip
Tumblr media
Starting with basic shit Akito is SO so in denial about his feelings and when he's finally fed up with it he chucks it down to infatuation (It is not)
And Tsukasa is an oblivious idiot to everything even though he has a stupid crush on this ginger he just refuses to say anything because he still thinks Akito despises his guts
My guy every little bit of physical contact you make with carrot head makes him look like color hex #ff0000 RGB 255, 0, 0 how do you not notice this
Tsukasa fell first, and they both fell harder >:)
You know Tsukasa'a 1* card where Akito saved the poor man from a spider or something that's when it happened Tsukasa didn't know at first cause like haha who the hell falls in love with someone over something so small I barely even know the guy
If Akito confessed first, after a long moment of awkward silence and Akito wishing the floor would eat him alive, Tsukasa is suddenly hugging him and crying (That's a yes btw)
If Tsukasa confessed first, it would take a bit (probably a few days or weeks) but eventually Akito with the support of everyone finally accepts his feelings for Tsukasa (He didn't tell anyone about the confession btw it was probably Akiyama or one of Tsukasa's friends that told everyone also the threat of Rui was probably another reason he couldn't deny lmao)
Every date, and I mean EVERY SINGLE DATE, Tsukasa will always bring or buy some cheesecakes or pancakes for Akito
And if he doesn't the next time he brings lunch for Akito he'll bring him more cheesecake than he usually does to make up for it
When Tsukasa found out Akito's favorite flowers were sunflowers, he sometimes brings one for him too :D
Tsukasa probably got a pair of sunflower clip-on earrings too (Or whatever they're called)
Tsukasa loves to tackle hug Akito and it never fails to make the ginger laugh <3
Tsukasa borrows Akito's jackets a lot (At least twice a week).
Akito complains about it but let's be honest he loves it when he gets it back and all he smells on it is Tsukasa's scent
Tsukasa loves giving gifts to Akito even if there's no special occasion, usually some type of jewelry like earrings and the next day Akito's most likely wearing it
Obviously, they invite each other to their shows, and sometimes their other bandmates too
During WxS shows Akito's supportive and is internally loud but during VBS concerts Tsukasa is HOLLERING Akito's name and singing along if he knows the lyrics it's embarrassing but if you look closely enough you can tell it hypes up Akito a little more and he tries even harder (An has taken note of this and teases him nonstop about it)
Neither of them are a huge fan of PDA but if you stare long enough you'll probably miss a sneaky little kiss when you blink
That or if Tsukasa's in a really good mood he'll practically cling to Akito (Which is like 50% of the time tbh)
That one post I made on my side blog is real and so is the first tag
Yes Ena and Saki are supportive but holy shit Akito wants to fucking strangle Ena whenever she brings it up (This applies to An too)
Tsukasa helps Akito be more open with his feelings and Akito helps Tsukasa deal with negativity better
Around people, Akito still treats Tsukasa how he would (if Tsukasa isn't being clingy) but once they're alone Akito acts like he's touch starved and refuses to leave Tsukasa alone
Akito sometimes helps Tsukasa with practicing for his shows. He's obviously not as good but he's trying and Tsukasa appreciates his efforts
Tell Akito to say wonderhoy and he'll look at you like you're fucking insane but have Tsukasa tell him and he'll say it as unenthusiastically as he can manage
And then Tsukasa will look at him all :((( and Akito does it with more energy and "jesus fucking christ the things I do to make Tsukasa happy" (It's just a wonderhoy idk why you're so pissed /hj)
I do not understand Japanese and I am not caught up on that one event story with furry Akito so correct me if I'm wrong (about the italicized part) but before Akito gets over his fear of dogs Tsukasa always made sure they would steer clear of them and if one suddenly appeared this blond pink theatre kid is going to protect his pathetic fucking boyfriend with his life
Rui: Is that a hickey? | Tsukasa: No! It’s just a mosquito bite. | Akito, walking into the room: Hey, guys. | Rui: Hi, mosquito.
Whenever one of them stays up really late when staying over. the other tries to convince them to go to bed and cuddle/snuggle with them and it works.
Tsukasa practically begs meanwhile, if possible, Akito hugs Tsukasa from behind and basically just collapses onto him half asleep mumbling into his ear (Can you tell I'm tired it's 1 AM and I got 3 hours of sleep yesterday I'm running off of a power nap rn)
Obviously, Tsukasa can't do anything with Akito like that so he basically carries Akito to the room of whoever they're staying at
Tumblr media
Akikasa supremacy WHO'S WITH ME AKIKASA!!!!!!! (I'm dying on a hill please)

congrats on getting into your dream school, i’m so happy for you !!
so i’m gonna take the chance to request ANYTHING for ed because i’m a total sucker for him 🥹 you can do whatever you’d like,, i just crave more ed x reader content ! sfw or nsfw is alright, just do whatever you want ^^
Tumblr media
thank uuu! and of course my ed fans need to unite hand in hand. had to rewrite this 2 times because i wasn't happy with the first one and it was super short. I'll probably still publish it later tho...enojy :)
You and Ed were situated by the pool table, surrounded by a few of his friends. And the air had a tinge of beer as classic rock played from a jukebox perched in the corner.
It was one of those rare downtimes you all had, and you were just ballsy enough to challenge him for a round of billiards.
He outranked the people in his group, so you kinda had an idea of what you were up against.
Even if you barely knew how to play…Probably shouldn't have kept your money where your mouth was either.
“Hold on a sec.” Ed said, stepping closer to you. “Your stance is off.”
You straightened, turning to him. “What do you mean?”
“You need to balance your weight better.” he explained. “Right now, you’re too far back and it’s throwing off your aim.”
“Like this?” You asked, trying to mimic his earlier stance.
“Yeah, but lean in a bit more,” Ed moved behind you to adjust your posture. His hands were firm on your body, guiding you into the proper form. The feeling of his cold hands running down your lower back sent chills through you. “You need to get low and steady your aim.”
You hummed, trying to find a good angle to come in from.
“Alright, let’s see you make this shot.” He stepped back, giving you room to move. “Don't rush it. If you just smack it without putting any thought into it, you'll back yourself into a corner. And it'll be twice as hard to come back.”
You let out a deep breath and bent over, aligning your shot with the cue ball.
As you did, Ed couldn’t help but stare at you. Something was captivating about the way you moved, how you bit your lip when you were focused, and the curve of your body over the table.
He didn’t realize he was staring until a voice broke his thoughts.
“Enjoying the view?” Falke teased in a low voice, so only he could hear.
Of course Falke would be the one to catch him.
Ed blinked, tearing his eyes away from you as he felt the blush creeping up his face. “Just making sure they've got the right form.” he replied, a bit too defensively.
“Sure you were.” She said, nudging him with her elbow. “I’ve never seen you so focused on anyone’s form before.”
"You don't know what you're talking about." He said, taking a swig of his beer, but the hint of embarrassment on his cheeks said otherwise.
“You know, you’re not as tough as you like to pretend, Ed.” Falke shook her head.
“Keep it up. I’ll have you sparring against Y/n in my place.” He shot her a look.
Falke laughed, raising her hands. “Alright, alright. I’ll behave. Just try not to stare too much. You're going to make them nervous.”
The words hung in the air as she watched as Ed turned to see your progress. Yup, still struggling. So she decided to remind him of something he's been avoiding for a while.
“It’s okay to let them in, you know.” She said picking up her drink.
Ed's gaze flickered to her, with his brow furrowing slightly. There was a mixture of fear and a longing he wasn’t quite ready to confront, not yet at least.
“And what?” his voice was low. “Expose them to the shit we deal with?”
“They're strong, stronger than you think. And I know they can handle it.” She said, meeting his gaze evenly.
Ed’s jaw clenched, with a familiar sense of stubbornness rising in him. He wanted to keep you at a distance if things ever went south. But her words struck a chord, stirring something deep within him.
“That's the thing, they shouldn’t have to.” Ed sighed, running a hand through his hair.
Falke placed her free hand on his shoulder, to try and soothe him. Either way, they're still choosing to be with you. And keeping Y/n at arm's length won't protect them—it'll only push them away."
Ed's gaze softened as he glanced at you again, watching your tongue peeked out of your lips in concentration, finding the right angle to focus on.
He couldn’t deny the bits of truth in Falke’s words. You stood by him despite his attempts to push you away, and you always went out of your way to understand him, to break through the walls he had built around himself.
“They deserve better,” Ed muttered, his voice barely audible over the chatter of the pub.
“Maybe, but they think you’re worth it. And maybe it’s time that you started believing it too.” She replied, squeezing his shoulder.
You, being oblivious to the exchange, took your shot. The cue ball rolled across the felt table, striking against the striped one with a satisfying clack, before sending it into the pocket. You excitedly jumped up, with a grin spreading across your face. “I got it! Did you see that?” you yelled, looking at Ed.
“Yeah, I saw. Nice shot.” he said with a small smile. “You’re getting the hang of it.”
"Alright, your turn." you handed over the cue stick and you didn't miss the brush of his fingers against yours.
Ed approached the table and placed his glass down. He positioned himself as he lined his shot. You watched as he gripped the stick and quickly sank two balls, effectively ending the game when his set was gone from the table.
"And that's how it's done," he took his drink off the pool table and settled right next to you.
"Guess I have a lot to learn," You sheepishly laughed, before taking out your wallet. "Double or Nothing?"
"You're on." Ed smirked.

THE HEART WANTS WHAT IT WANTS
S2 | Gary/MC | 2700+ words | @0shewrites0
Tumblr media
synopsis | Gary is genuinely happy with Maeve, but Lottie doesn't believe he is being honest. She is jealous of Maeve and angry that Gary ditched her for Maeve. Together with Hannah she thinks about how she can test him, or rather how she can make him regret that he ever coupled up with Maeve. She wants to remind him that she - Lottie - is the one he really wants.
prompt | rewriting Operation Nope @litgwritersroom
genre | fluff. non-canonical. rated T.
author’s note | I've never written for Gary before, so I wanted to challenge myself. I'm sorry in advance if I didn't capture his character properly, but I tried anyway. And it was fun to write him. I like fluff with Gary so much🤍
"UGH!" Lottie feigned retching and rolled her eyes.
Startled, Hannah looked up, following Lottie's gaze, and her eyes widened when she saw Gary and Maeve in the outdoors gym. Gary was doing push-ups while Maeve was underneath him. Each time he lowered himself to the ground, he pressed a kiss to her lips and then pushed himself back up.
Maeve giggled, her face flushed as she barely managed to look into his bright blue eyes that gazed down at her, and his lips twisted into a grin. Small beads of sweat formed on his forehead and chest, but he kept going, his muscles tensing, his strong arms braced on either side of Maeve’s shoulders.
Both Lottie and Hannah stared at them, bewildered - Lottie because she still couldn't believe that Gary had chosen Maeve over her, and twice, and Hannah because she couldn't for the life of her imagine lying under a guy, having to endure his panting, the sweat trickling down his face and onto her own, and getting sticky, sweaty kisses.
What was hot about it? Ew! She shuddered in disgust, averting her eyes and looking at Lottie instead. "That's disgusting, isn't it?"
"Mmm..." replied Lottie absentmindedly, her gaze still fixed on Gary, her eyelid twitching nervously as she clenched her teeth in annoyance.
"Lottie," Hannah tried again, putting her hand on Lottie's arm and squeezing it gently, "stop watching them. You'll feel miserable."
Lottie scoffed, "Oh, I'm miserable already, thank you very much." But she turned her back on them and turned her attention to Hannah, frowning and pouting. "I just don't understand why he would choose her over me. When we came in he didn't even notice her, he didn't step forward for her!"
Hannah clamped her mouth shut, knowing this was going to be one of those endless rants about how Lottie thought she was the perfect partner for Gary, and she decided to just listen and nod her head in agreement. There was no stopping her anyway.
"Are you even listening to me, Han?" Lottie suddenly snapped, glaring at Hannah with her emerald eyes.
The latter nodded quickly and forced a smile, "Of course I am. And I agree, I don't get it either."
For a moment Lottie watched her suspiciously, then waved her hand dismissively. "It's like I don't even exist anymore!" She turned back around, fixed her gaze on the gym and was annoyed to see Gary still doing push-ups and kissing Maeve. "What is it about her? I thought he liked opinionated women, someone who could talk back, but with her it's like she's the complete opposite. Always all sunny and happy, always trying to keep harmony and peace. It's so boring!"
"Maybe we should do something to get him interested in you again?" asked Hannah quietly, almost not daring to say anything because she didn't want to make Lottie any angrier than she already was.
"What did you just say?" Lottie jerked her head around to stare at her, and Hannah wasn't sure, but it seemed like her eyes were shining. Like she was feeling hopeful again.
"I don't know, but if you think he's just forgotten you, maybe get him to remember you. We could test him and find out if he really likes Maeve that much or if she's just the easier option."
"The easier option? What's that supposed to mean?" Lottie narrowed her eyes again and scowled at her.
Hannah swallowed quickly, "I just meant that with her, he doesn't really have to try to make it seem like they're a good couple because they're so boring. Nothing ever happens, they haven't even had a fight yet. And maybe he's taking advantage of her because he knows she'll secure him a place in the finals? He could be playing the game..."
Lottie scoffed sarcastically, "I highly doubt the guy is smart enough to do anything like that. I mean, he's a crane operator. Doesn't take much cognitive ability, does it?"
Hannah winced briefly, wondering why Lottie even wanted him so badly if she thought so poorly of him, but she quickly brushed the thought off. She's just angry...
"But," Lottie put one of her impeccably manicured black fingernails to her chin and tapped it thoughtfully, "you do have a point. Maybe I can make him regret ever coupling up with her."
"Do you have a plan?" inquired Hannah hesitantly.
"Not yet, but I'll come up with one!"
••••••••••••••••
Gary stepped out of the shower, feeling refreshed and full of energy after his workout, dried himself off and couldn't help smiling when he thought of the visual of Maeve lying underneath him, beaming at him with flushed cheeks. She was not his type at all, at least not on paper, but lately he was wondering if maybe he had been wrong about his type all along. After all, he was already thinking about what his nan would say if he brought her home. And he was bloody sure she would adore her.
Maeve was laid-back, easy-going, happy, and she always managed to put a smile on his face, too. He felt comfortable around her, he didn't worry so much about his physique, and he caught himself no longer wondering so often if she thought he was hot. Because the way she looked at him, her sparkling eyes that lit up whenever he entered a room or came into her field of vision, and her lips that twisted into a genuine smile - it made the butterflies in his stomach go crazy.
And the way she touched his body delicately when they were alone, the way she gently squeezed his biceps or brushed her fingers over his pecs as if he were a work of art -
Gary shook his head sharply and forced himself to stop daydreaming like that. He softened around her, he could feel it, and part of him liked it, but he couldn't lose his cool completely either. He couldn't let goosebumps cover his body just thinking about her. It wasn't like he was already in love with her, or was he?
He scoffed softly, concentrating on getting ready, then made his way downstairs. He was jogging through the large, open lobby when he saw Lottie lounging on one of the big couches, stretching her body luxuriously, almost like a cat, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he had just entered the same room. His eyes raked over her figure for the briefest of seconds, then he cleared his throat, "Well, hello there."
Lottie lifted her head, gave him one of her piercing looks that made him feel extremely uncomfortable - and not in the good, sexy way - and gave him a lopsided grin. "Just got out of the shower, huh?"
Gary just nodded wordlessly.
When she realised he wasn't going to say anything more, she rolled her eyes, and sat up, crossing her legs and resting her hands in her lap. "How's it going? Is Maeve everything you ever wanted?"
Gary raised an eyebrow and came over to the couch facing her, propping his forearms on the soft backrest. "Where did that come from?" he asked suspiciously.
Lottie grinned and clicked her tongue, "Just asking. Because it's still early days and all that, you know."
"Yeah, I guess so..." murmured Gary, not breaking eye contact. "You happy with Bobby then?"
She burst out laughing, throwing her head back dramatically and wiping the non-existent tears from her eyes. "What do you think? We're hardly the next great romance."
He nodded curtly, "Fair enough. Bobby's more of a mate, isn't he?"
"Yeah, literally. We get on well, but there's nothing more between us."
He sensed she was trying to get something out of him without having to ask him directly, but he wasn't going to make it that easy for her. He wasn't blind, he had noticed both her and Hannah staring at him when he had done one of his training sessions earlier where Maeve had joined him. He didn't know exactly what her problem was, but he was wary.
"All right, I'll just come out and say it," she finally relented, standing up and walking towards him. Gary remained silent, waiting for her to continue, grinning inwardly. There it is.
"Are you really happy with Maeve? I remember you telling me what your type was on paper, and it's definitely not her..." She scanned his face for a reaction, but he gave her none. It wasn't long before she was standing right next to him, putting a hand on his bicep and adding, "I just worry about you. You don't seem yourself."
He scoffed, but quickly disguised it as a cough and thought to himself, Yeah, right. You’re worried. Of course you are.
"Listen, Lottie..." he began, but she interrupted him. "I just want you to be happy, you know? And I want you to be honest with yourself. What does your heart tell you?"
He tilted his head, only now realising how terribly close her face was, her familiar sandalwood scent wafting around him, her piercing green eyes boring into his face, trying to read him. "What does my heart tell me?" he asked, trying hard not to grin smugly.
"Yes, like..." she placed the hand that had been resting on his arm seconds before directly over his heart, then continued, "Is it telling you to keep trying with her, or is it telling you to weigh your other options a bit? We're only ten days in, not even halfway through the month."
He thanked the heavens that his heart was beating normally, that she was unable to raise his heart rate even though she was so close and her whole being practically flooded all his senses. He would have thought it would be more tempting if she were practically begging him to take her back, but there was nothing.
Sure, she had been fun to be with, she was a good kisser, and aside from all the weird spiritual, esoteric stuff, she was cool. But he had never felt the spark with her. The butterflies. Not like he felt them with Maeve now.
"So what does your heart tell you?" he deflected, suppressing a chuckle when he realised he'd caught her off guard.
She pulled back and shrugged, "Well, there are definitely better options for me than Bobby."
"Yeah? Like who? Lucas, maybe?"
Lottie raised an eyebrow and huffed, "Please, not even if he was the only option. He's hot, of course. But apart from that, he's not my type. I'm here for love, you know? Not just for a summer fling."
Gary nodded solemnly, then added, "Does Bobby know you're grafting on me?"
She flinched, surprised by his sudden directness, and her cheeks flushed. She tilted her head to the side, her long blondish-pink hair covering the side of her face so he couldn't see her, then murmured, "Weren't you listening? It's not going anywhere. It's not like he'd mind."
"So you are grafting me," he stated dryly. "Why?"
When she didn't answer, he continued, "I'm happy with Maeve, alright? And I think my heart is telling me to keep pursuing her. I'm sorry things aren't working out between you and Bobby, but I'm here for love too." He pushed himself off the back of the couch and walked past her to the glass doors that led out onto the lawn. Hand on the handle, he turned to the side and added, "Also, jealousy doesn't suit you, Lottie."
With that, he stepped out into the bright sunshine, his eyes scanning the lawn and his heart skipping a beat when he spotted Maeve lying on one of the inflatables with her eyes closed, floating across the pool.
He headed towards her, but halfway there Hannah stepped in his way. "Gary, have you seen Lottie?" she asked, sounding oddly nervous.
"Yeah, she's inside," he gestured towards the villa with his thumb and was about to leave when she grabbed his arm and stepped close to him, whispering, "She really likes you, you know? I know she's not so good with feelings, but she misses you."
She nibbled her lower lip anxiously, the grip of her slender fingers felt too tight around his forearm, and for a brief moment he didn't know what to do. His eyes fell on Maeve, still dozing on the inflatable, and suddenly he couldn't get away from Hannah fast enough.
He put his hand on hers and gently but firmly loosened her grip, then replied in a lowered voice, "First off, she should have told me herself. Secondly, that's nice, but I don't miss her. I really like Maeve a lot. And since you're playing Cupid, will you tell her?"
Her eyes widened in shock and her mouth dropped open. Gary seized the moment and left her to it. Falling into a light jog, he approached the pool where he immediately dived in, the cool water engulfing his body.
Well, that was fucking weird, he thought to himself, wondering if he should talk to Maeve about it. He couldn't see her getting angry or upset, to be honest, but it was the right thing to do, wasn't it?
When he came back up, inhaling deeply and sweeping his wet hair out of his forehead, two curious brown eyes were staring at him, twinkling mysteriously, and there it was again - the rumbling in his stomach.
"Hi!" Maeve exclaimed, flashing him a toothy smile, the bright freckles on her nose and cheeks dancing and sparkling in the sun, and he returned the grin. "Hey, love. Alright?"
Her grin widened and she nodded, then tried to get off the inflatable and into the water. Gary chuckled and looped an arm around her waist, finishing the job for her. She giggled as he pulled her against him and her arms automatically wrapped around his neck. He leaned in and touched his lips to hers. A warm, comforting feeling spread throughout his body as she returned the kiss and he felt her lips move against his.
Eventually, he pulled back and decided to come right out and say it. "Love, I have to tell you something," he began and his heart beat faster when her nose wrinkled and she frowned.
"Okay?" she hummed, and there was no trace of worry or jealousy in her voice. It put him at ease almost instantly. He brought his palm to her face and brushed her cheek, then smiled reassuringly at her, "Nothing happened, but I thought you should know anyway." She just nodded, her warm eyes open and honest as she looked at him. "I think Lottie tried to come on to me."
She raised an eyebrow, and he noticed one corner of her mouth twitch slightly. But she said nothing, so he continued, "And I think she's jealous. Of you."
At that, her eyebrows shot up to her hairline and Gary couldn't suppress the chuckle that escaped his lips. "Of me?" she asked, and her voice sounded so full of disbelief and genuine surprise that once again he couldn't help thinking that she really was the perfect match for him. "Yes, love, of you."
She shook her head, crinkling her nose again, and pouted, seemingly thoughtful. "Oh, is it because you chose me over her? At the last recoupling?"
He chuckled again, "Yeah, and at the recoupling before that too."
"Oops," she giggled and her cheeks flushed again, a lovely rosy hue.
Gary closed the distance between them and kissed her on the nose as the butterflies rioted in his stomach.
"And what did you say to her?" she finally asked softly.
He shrugged nonchalantly, "I told her I liked you, not her."
The blush on her face deepened and she rolled her eyes playfully, but where her chest pressed against his, he could feel her heart beating harder at his words.
"You're not going to leave me hanging now, are you? Do you like me too?" he probed, a smile playing around his lips.
She smacked his arm and rolled her eyes again, "Of course I like you. I thought that was obvious."
He laughed, "Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page."
She nodded and smiled, "We definitely are."
Then she bit her lip and glanced down at his lips for a moment, but it was long enough for Gary to catch it and before she could lean in, he did and captured her lips in another deep, lingering kiss.
A tiny moan escaped her lips as he tightened his grip around her waist, and this time he didn't even try to stop the goosebumps that covered his whole body.
Maybe I am in love with her after all...

Hey look, I found and filled out an old school controversy meme template!
Favorite Character: Rei Hino and Minako Aino. Rei was my favorite ever since I was a kid because she had a fun personality and badass fire powers, but as I grew up and gained access to things like Codename Sailor V, I really began to develop a deep fondness and appreciation for Minako as well. I can't possibly choose between them; they're both great.
Despised Character: The Sailor Starlights, primarily the anime versions (the manga versions just seem kind of pointless to me). It's the final season of the show and yet so much time is being hogged by these newcomers, who are unlikable jackasses on top of that. Truthfully, I'd have much rather kept Chibiusa around, at least she's someone I know and care about.
Most Overrated Character: The anime's Haruka Tenoh and Michiru Kaioh. Now don't get me wrong, I love them too and I 100% get why they're so special to so many fans. But I feel that often blinds people to their less than stellar writing in the second half of S and throughout Sailor Stars. The writers took their status as "Darker and Edgier Sailor Senshi" way too far, to the point where they started coming off as unlikable strawmen of Magical Girl genre haters.
Most Underrated Character: Unazuki Furuhata. Why didn't she show up in Crystal!?
Favorite Couple: Usagi/Mamoru, primarily manga/Crystal and Junichi Sato-directed!anime.
Despised Couple: Usagi/Seiya. Toxic, inauthentic, just all-around bad. Burn it with fire.
Favorite Season: The original Sailor Moon. I don't even know how to describe it other than lightning that never quite struck twice. I think the franchise owes much of its success to it.
Despised Season: Sailor Stars. First we have an arc that butchers Queen Nehelenia, then Chibiusa is insultingly written out offscreen, then Mamoru dies without anyone knowing so that we can have the Breakup Plot 2.0, then a boy band that can transform into female Sailor Senshi start hogging the spotlight with one of them getting into a toxic relationship with Usagi, the villains are more incompetent than ever and still doing the same Monster of the Week formula with the monsters being utterly nonsensical in their origin (not to mention not in the manga at all), and we end with a six-part finale that tries so hard to cram in as much emotion and devastation as possible without doing it half as well as the original season's two-part finale. And this is the last season of the show! It's just such an insulting way for the show to go out, with its good points few and far between. Most of the staff from prior seasons weren't on this one and its director was actively sick of the franchise, and it really does feel like it.
Favorite Villain: Technically my favorite villains are the Dark Kingdom from the anime's original season, but across the whole franchise I have to go with the Black Moon Clan.
Despised Villain: Queen Nehelenia from Sailor Stars. An offensive, contradictory rewrite of what was previously among the anime's best villains. Let's pretend she never happened, 'K?
Favorite Episode: Episode 24 of the original season. The show taking an unrepentant villain and still allowing him to rediscover his humanity and find a measure of redemption by sacrificing his life for another blew me away when I first saw it as a kid. This episode and all the ones leading up to it marked the point where a really good show became a great one.
Despised Episode: Episode 22 of Sailor Stars. The Sailor Starlights reach the absolute pinnacle of unlikability in their hypocritical attitude toward discovering the Senshi's identities, and then Sailor Aluminum Seiren is killed off in a cruel, mean-spirited way that we end up with no emotional catharsis over later. At this point, it just didn't feel like Sailor Moon to me.

read all of them.
oh
my
GOD.
i Loved absolutely all of it. kept reading it in middle of my breaks as if it were a newspaper.
my favorite one is well. well i love them all LOL but there are specific moments about each of them that i like specially.
the character study / the ideal reader. i have so much adoration for each of your writtings i cant even put it into words. the entirety of it describes peter perfectly.. . as in. . its basically as if you had pathologic programmed in your brain... i absolutely adore the last line about being human and showing him that he's one too. GOD. GGOODODDD YOURE SO RIGHT. ITS. the way you describe in the poly andrey / reader / peter fic how the feelings are beyond sexual means a lot to me because of how much i like . non sexual adoration? as in i like sex as much as the other guy but i love when sex feels more passionate rather than pornographic per say. or when its more artistic than anything... or simply when love is beyond sex, is simply enough sometimes. being so in love with someone that those feelings feel so raw, so emotional so.. potent... its beyond words... is. portrayed. flawlessly.
fuck !!! even im running out of words already to describe how much i adore your work??? you could say im feeling exactly that rn LOL
and the birthday one... its so sweet.... i read both peters and andreys but as in to not make this ask any longer im just going to say i really like how peter reminds you of death in such a blunt way but. also how personal everything he does for you feels. art, as an artist, being portrayed as a love language, is. yes. absolutely. its just. perfect. all your work is beyond perfect.
anywho.
i dont... exactly have a very speficic request in mind... but im brainrotting horribly over the twins so ill eventually creep in with something... hope its not much of a bother
-🌈 anon
YOU'RE SO KIND AAAA
Writing for the twins is always a delight! Their dynamic is super interesting, codependent yet each one is still their own separate individual.
In every pair, one of them will always love the other more, and in this case, Andrey clearly cares more about Peter. Which makes an x reader dynamic very special, these two only had each other for so long, do they still hold the capacity to love another person?
Peter is the one tethering on the edge of reality, one match strike away from insanity. So much so that Alexander Saburov actually does consider him clinically insane which is why he wasn't charged with the murder of Farkhad.
Yet Peter is aware that him and Andrey are extensions of each other, which is why despite Andrey being the one to kill Farkhad, Peter describes it as if his own finger was the one who pulled the trigger.
If anything I'm surprised I've been getting more requests about Peter than Andrey, but I guess I understand. Andrey is more intimidating, not monogamous neither is he willing to settle or water himself down. While Peter is more obsessive with his love, almost consuming.
With Andrey, you'll always clearly be the second choice. With Peter, there's an off-chance he will love you so much he'll forsake his own brother.
-
You noticed all the details and personalisation I've given each person in the birthday gifts! Mhm! Peter's intention was to remind you of death on your birthday but not in a malice way, he genuinely thought it would be beautiful. One of the gifts I had scrabble was a tombstone he designed for your grave himself, a rare smile on his face as he shows it to you with faint excitement.
One of Andrey's scrapped gifts was lingerie actually, noted down how the gift remains the same no matter the gender. It wasn't a joke lingerie either but a very expensive and intricately designed set... which fit your measures suspiciously well.
-
I'm so happy you liked the Ideal reader!!! I had to rewrite Peter's section twice bc the first time was deleted by tumblr- Thank you so much for all of your praise <333 and for sharing your thoughts, I'll cherish each one of your words and read them whenever I feel down.
-
It was a deliberate choice to make the love in that fic nonsexaul, as in it transcends both romantic and sexual love. Something so intense yet so familiar, heavy in your chest and light in your brain.
Peter accepts it without question and lets these feelings consume him, while Andrey eyes you with reprehension and scepticism.

A is for Admire
The Jungle Fury Alphabet of Fluff (rewrite)
Casey, Theo, and Lily looked up at RJ as he stood between them and the mantis monster.
"I think it's time for your first lesson," RJ told them over his shoulder. He pulled his sleeve back and showed them his Master tattoo. "You can't judge a book by its cover."
RJ pulled his chef jacket loose from the apron he was wearing and stood there, calmly, with only one of his arms up as a guard. Not only did he not look scared, he looked cocky.
"Attack!" The monster ordered his minions.
They came at him at once, and RJ dispatched them calmly. Once he had defeated all the minions, he turned to the monster.
"Impossible!" The monster yelled.
RJ was obviously gathering energy from somewhere, Theo and Lily assumed it was from his animal spirit, and he proceeded to blast the monster back to its red-jacket mode.
"I'll get you!" The monster yelled as it ran away.
The three students had gotten up and looked at RJ with great reverence.
"You're him! You're our Master!"
They vowed to him and the master's face contorted in a grimace.
"Please, call me RJ," he said, smiling. "Now, my students, the real journey begins."
That had been the very first time RJ had joined them in battle to save their lives. It would happen again. Twice.
Six months after that first time, they were still RJ's students, and they loved it.
RJ was ahead of them in an obstacle course he had designed for the team. He was jumping from one log to another, landing at the tip on one leg, his balance perfectly kept.
"Come on!" he called over his shoulder as he reached the other side. He turned to find his students still on the other side of the log obstacle, just looking at him with stars in their eyes.
"Are you guys going to cross?" He asked them.
"Can you do it again?" Casey asked, pointing at the logs. "So we can copy you?"
"Do it again?" RJ asked, confused.
"Yes," Lily said. "So we can copy you."
"You don't need to copy me, just do it your own way."
The three students looked at each other, and Lily was the first to budge. "Ok, we don't want to copy you. We just want to see you do it again."
RJ crossed his arms, each hand on the opposite forearm, like he did when he was thinking instead of angry.
"Why?" He asked after a couple of seconds of looking at them.
"Because it was really cool," Casey admitted. Lily and Theo nodded along.
RJ looked at the ground for a few seconds, feeling his students' stares on him. "I don't do very well with this kind of attention."
Casey, Theo, and Lily looked at each other.
"We didn't mean to offend," Theo said.
"We just..." Lily started.
"Admire you," Casey finished. "We-- well, I wish I could be like you."
"So do I!" Lily jumped immediately.
"And me!" Theo added, making the other three look at him as if he had just admitted to murder.
"Guys," RJ started. "I'm your Master, and that is a great honor, but I really don't deal very well with people admiring me."
Casey crossed his arms and addressed him: "Then you shouldn't have made yourself so admirable."

💫 top 9 first watched 2023 💫
Tagged by @die-schwanenkoenigin, thank you! Took me a while bc tbh I didn’t immediately remember enough films/series that I watched for the first time last year lmao, I did Not watch a lot of TV in all of 2023 xD and when I did it was mostly rewatches… anyway!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I already loved Leverage, and Leverage: Redemption is just as awesome! Maybe cheating a bit by adding it to the list bc it’s not a completely new thing, but hey the title’s kinda different so it isn’t just another season right? xD
EEAAO, oh my god, no words, watched 3 times and would watch again
The only negative thing I can say about Glass Onion is that I liked Knives Out even better, so it didn’t quite reach that level? But it’s honestly hard to compare the two. Glass Onion was definitely an A++ representation of Dumbass Evil Rich Guys, and the movie was fun to watch!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look, the 2006 film with Keira Knightley (and Rosamund Pike) is great (because Keira Knightly and Rosamund Pike), so I kept rewatching that, but now that I’ve finally watched the 1995 version I gotta say - it’s better. Like sorry. But it is.
Blues Brothers! I was convinced that I had already watched it and maybe I had as a kid? Didn’t remember anything, and it’s a great film! Glad I finally watched it.
How did I not see this version of the parent trap until now? I love any version of Das Doppelte Lottchen!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, I don’t remember much about the James Bond except that I didn’t hate it?
I watched Fantomas with my mom when it was on TV and it was surprisingly fun
I like that version of Poirot, but tbh the only reason that one in particular made the list is Harriet Walter is in it and I watched it twice even though she’s just in a very minor role xD
Tagging anyone who sees this, hasn’t done it yet and would like to do it!
Also shoutout to these 4 films that, while by no means my favs, show what genre dominates my first watched films of the year lmao
Tumblr media
I did actually like A Castle For Christmas tbh! Was thinking about writing a wlw fic rewrite of the plot or sth, but didn’t get around to it.

Hi Lynn, I'm sorry for the mistakes (I'm using a translator). But can I get canon info about Don and Roy from you?
[No worries. The only issue is, Fuboo tends to rewrite her lore a lot. Like, A LOT a lot. So when it comes to knowing what is and isn't canon is entirely a guessing game till she discloses her "YB Lore Bible". So I will share some Don and Roy stuff, but I have no clue how much is still true. So I'm going to pick some stuff that I believe she's kept intact.]
Karen was raised spoiled, was the popular girl in high school, and faked being pregnant twice to make sure Don didn't date anyone else. The first time was in high school and the time was when Roy was 5. She even tried again when Don started divorce proceedings but he snapped back "We haven't had sex in 2 years! So either the kid isn't mine, or you're full of shit. I know how a uterus works!".
Don also didn't fight for custody of Roy and never visited.
The main reason is that he didn't want to see his ex since she would make things more difficult.
His ex is literally the reason why they don't have a good relationship.
Karen's parents disowned her after she spend half a million in Vegas back in high school, and she never talked to them since. Roy visits them once a week when he found them. And Don only met them once because of well…Karen.
Roy is not a fan of his mom. She helicopter parented him so hardcore when he hit 13, humiliated him intentionally in public in hopes to "shame him in his place", and even removed his bedroom door because he started locking himself in his room.
Narcissistic and manipulative are two deadly combos that should never go into one being. Despite all of Karen's flaws, she does have some positive qualities. She might be a bitch to others, but when it comes to the physically or mentally disabled, she's a total sweetheart. She works at a school where she teaches and helps special needs students.
Don's height is Don 6'4" to 6'6", Roy's height is somewhere at 5'11" to 6'0" (Fuboo being Fuboo with heights), and Karen is 5'4".
If they were animals, Don would be a bear and Roy's animal is a coyote, but we don't know what Karen is. (my guess is a leech or some other annoying parasite)
Roy's means of self-defense is a taser and Don's is a crowbar.
What's sad is Don fell hard after the divorce. Beer became his friend and it took a while to pull himself out of needing it. He also feels like Roy is 100% done with him for how things went, but it's not the case. Roy actually wants to be in his dad's life and reconcile. They just need to be put in a room and be allowed to talk.
A really sweet thing is that Don has a single tie. Roy got it for him on Father's day, saying that "You always look sad, so I hope this makes you happy." Don kept it ever since. The tie has smiling suns on it.
Don is not a fan of kissing but likes to receive them. Roy is a shy kisser, afraid he'll do it wrong.
Don's mother was Hispanic.
In looking for a partner, Roy would like someone more free-ranged and open. Someone who actually trusts him and gives him his space. As for Don, he'd like someone who can take care of themselves and not rant all the time…someone humble too. Basically, they both want someone the opposite of Karen.
Don secretly heads out to the back alley of the building and feeds stray cats.
Don had a pet cow when he was a kid working on his uncle's farm.
Don's favorite game is Checkers and Roy's is Sorry.

The Beginning Chapter 5
Summary: Those with a uterus have it hard in modern society, pre or post quirk. It’s even harder in a post-quirk society, however. Especially when the person in question has the ability to have a child who’s quirk is just like or stronger than the other parent’s. For a girl like Izumi? It only takes one nurse to diverge her path from what destiny wrote. Now, forced to make the borderline unethical work to protect her, the choices she makes will mean everything.

The emails started a day after the meetings. Izumi sent a general one out, talking about how it was nice to meet them (excluding Keigo) and how she was happy to continue to get to know them. Izumi sent them off with a hopeful heart, wondering how the rest of the year would go. It was only November, after all!
NOVEMBER
Tokoyami
… I finally understand why my parents never sent me to a public school. From your stories, they seem to be full of horrific bullies and tormentors. Though I admit, homeschooling is a hard battle, even with the group I have. All of us have mutations or volatile Quirks, which band us together but also sets us apart even from one another, as none of us are similar.
Would you ever go to a different school?
Sincerely,
 Tokoyami Fumikage
-
Hello Tokoyami,
I don’t know about a different school. I’ve been going to this one for a long time, and I find myself nervous about the idea that I would leave. I know that none of the kids are really friendly, but I can’t let that stop me! Maybe I’ll go to a different middle school than Aldera, but I don’t know if it would be worth it. It’s really expensive, and even with the money we have saved, it’s not always an option.
I know that homeschool groups like yours are common but do you guys get taught by parents or by actual teachers? It sounds very different…
Todoroki
…I have managed to create water while training today. My father appeared both pleased and very upset. I think he wished for me to truly have half of his Quirk and my mother’s. Fuyumi, my sister, however, became worried about hearing of my possible Chimerism and booked me a doctor’s appointment.
Thank you for informing me of the possibility; it is very pleasing to see the old man so annoyed.
Todoroki
-
Hello Todoroki,
I had to rewrite this twice because I kept gushing. It is SO COOL that you can create water; this totally proves you’re likely manipulating the oxygen in the air. Or, you know, using both halves simultaneously, but I think you’d have to press your hands together in that case. I hope everything works out at the appointment!
What is it like having siblings? I’ve never had anyone other than maybe Kacchan, who used to be my best friend, but he got really mean and cruel when I was found to be Quirkless…
Iida
… I do not understand why on earth your school is so grossly underfunded! It makes little sense that all of these things occur! However, I find myself believing you as I cannot understand why you would lie! I have spoken to Tensei, who confirmed that there are such schools! It is appalling!
Though no doubt you already know, so instead I would like to inquire what your favourite book is? A hopeful change of subject, perhaps, but I quite enjoy reading. I enjoy reading the “History of Heroes” by T. Stark. It is a fascinating subject.
Sincerely,
Iida Tenya
-
Hello Iida,
It is a sad state of affairs of how my school is run, but I am unable to change the truth of it. I try to make the best of it, though! It’s all you can sometimes do! As for books, I have read that one. It is a good read. Hearing about the older style heroes is very interesting, though according to my father, most are ‘put through a propaganda filter’. I asked him about that, but he said he’d tell me when I was older.
I suppose I read a lot about Quirks and the related sciences, but I also read some fantasy novels. My mom is a writer though her stuff is adult-only. Through her, I got some pre-Quirk books, including a few series by Tamora Pierce that I find amazing…
Monoma
… so in conclusion, there is NO way you can argue that Best Jeanist should be number one. Even if you love All Might, Best Jeanist has outstripped him in terms of ability, skill and style.
With that pointed out, I ask if you’ve heard of the fact All Might isn’t going to the latest International Hero Tournament? What are your thoughts?
-Neito
-
Monoma,
I’ll give you that Jeanist has the skill and aptitude to hone his Quirk until it’s perfect, but you are WRONG in the idea that he would beat All Might. Super strength is THE most versatile Quirk.
Also, do NOT make me laugh with the style point. The Jurtleneck is a crime against fashion…
Shinsou
… and then my aunt told me point blank if I got another cat, she would pretend she didn’t know me. I did get one. My dad is laughing his ass off as she pouts, pretending she doesn’t love the cat even as it plays with her ears and she dangles string for it.
Do you have any pets at all? Any interest?
-Shinsou
-
Hello Shinsou,
The fact your aunt pretends to be ashamed since you love cats so much made me laugh so hard that I fell out of my chair. It was a nice thing to read after my week. Kacchan was acting weird again, pressing about my friendship bracelet with him for some reason. I confirmed I had it, and then he started yelling? I don’t know. I zoned out.
 I don’t have pets. I’d like a cat or, like, a big dog…
Takami
… sorry, but I don’t know what else to talk about. Training takes up my time, plus the internship with Skyfall. I did point out that hobbies are important for heroes to relate to the public, as you mentioned in your last letter, so they’ve been giving me a little more free time. I find I like watching cooking shows.
I’ve been experimenting with a small herb garden now as well. Not much, just some random plants. One of the Commission people gave me some cuttings from her garden. It’s pretty cool. You mentioned your own hobbies? What other than analysis do you do?
-Takami Keigo
[Handler’s note: remove mention of internship with Skyfall and mention of approaching debit as a hero. Reminder- we want to see what happens when we don’t tell them their ages. And keep this from the big boss. She’ll think it’s horrible]
-
Hello Takami,
I’m happy you’re getting a new hobby other than just training! Gardening sounds fun! My mom has a small garden on our balcony, and I like helping out when I can! She says that if we could ever move to a house with more room, she’d love to have a vegetable garden! We don’t have enough room right now, sadly.
Besides analysis, I mostly like reading books and going for long walks. I like to think walking helps strengthen my body in preparation for the UA entrance exams…
[Handler’s note: remove mention of UA exams.]
DECEMBER
Tokoyami
… I find myself more drawn to darker literature now, with different emotional twists. I also feel somewhat lost as I read these twists. My mother said perhaps I am too young to know. My father told me that while he did not mind me reading Stephen King, he wished for me to be careful in the risk of nightmares.
As the darkest day of the year grows closer, may I ask you about plans for the holidays? Do you celebrate Christmas? My father does as he is Christian. My mother is more traditional though she does enjoy the festivities as well.
Sincerely
Tokoyami Fumikage
-
Hello Tokoyami,
I looked up Stephen King, and wow, he’s a really old horror novelist, isn’t he? It’s pretty cool you can read his stuff! I’d be too scared to. I like other books. Usually, happy endings I won’t lie.
Personally, I don’t. My dad and his girlfriend do, but mom’s more traditional. So we get the bucket of chicken and spend the 26th together, but we’re more fond of New Years…
Todoroki
… just happy buckwheat does not have gluten, as I can still have soba noodles while being celiac. Fuyumi feels terrible that she never noticed that I tend to feel ill after having wheat, while father is just annoyed in general. However, Natsuo seems to be spending more time with me. It’s interesting to hang around him.
I also researched Quirklessness, if you don’t mind. I discovered something called an appendix. Is it true these can randomly burst? Shouldn’t you have it removed now? Are there other medical conditions, if you don’t mind me asking?
As a side note, my brother also insists on sending you this photo we found while researching chimerism.
Sincerely,
Todoroki Shouto
-
Dear Todoroki,
Seeing a photo of a rose white and red perfectly down the middle made me laugh. I have no doubt you know exactly why it’s funny and are pretending otherwise.
My appendix can burst, but I’m told that unnecessary surgery is foolish because all surgeries have complications. So it’s there for now. As for other medical concerns, I may have to have some teeth removed and a few other issues, such as an illness known as chickenpox, but I’ve already had that. It was…
Iida
… so we changed to the sleeker armour you pointed out was better. Tensei voices he’s increased his top speed, and it’s more durable, so he’s gaining fewer injuries. My mother is pleased by that. There is now even enough room to add a coolant system!
My parents insist on paying you for this and have already reached out to your mother. This will increase productivity! So please accept it. Tensei said to make it a Christmas gift, but I told him to stop teasing. Sadly, his friends decided to tease me too, but I am too used to that.
Thank you again for your help.
Sincerely,
Iida Tenya
-
Dear Iida,
You’re welcome! My mother accepted the money, and we’re putting it into a fund we’re calling the middle school fund. With everyone saying I shouldn’t stay at Aldera, we need a new school. I think she told her friends since Kacchan is acting so weird about it, yelling I had to stay and that I was too stupid to go elsewhere. I reminded him I’m at the top of the class, just like him. He didn’t like that.
When you say Tensei’s friends, do you mean other heroes? Can I ask who they are? I…
Monoma
…no. You’re completely wrong. That makes no sense for them to reboot the entire series! The series was fine as it was; rebooting it does nothing but cause more issues! Batman is superb as he is!
I don’t understand why you’re supporting this reboot so much!
-Monoma
-
Monoma,
BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL BATMAN DID NOT HAVE POWERS, AND THAT WAS HIS ENTIRE THING. The change to having him have a classic villain Quirk was INSULTING to his character and beliefs! I’m adding links to the old stuff..
Shinsou
… and then the teacher tried to claim I used my Quirk. I wordlessly pulled out my phone and played the audio file. Greatest moment in my life seeing her face. The principal then asked her: You know he’s from a very rich family too? Her face was AMAZING. Usually, I don’t use my family, but man, it was AWESOME using it like that.
It sucks we have to do this, though. That EVERYONE is against me for my Quirk, and everyone is against you for your lack. I just want to prove them all wrong.
-Shinsou
-
Hello Shinsou,
I know how you feel. It hurts some days hearing everyone speak against me, even if they’re being nice. I’ve met people who are completely fine with me being Quirkless but said I couldn’t be a hero due to it. I don’t think everyone is against you or me, but it feels like it. Particularly when it’s school and teachers doing these things…
Takami
… Skyfall then looked me in the eyes and told me that it was the stupidest thing he had ever seen but also the funniest thing. He then gave me a new botany book, and I’ve been reading it. It’s great! I’ve been working on my garden since. Plus cooking. I actually find it relaxing; this way, I know exactly what’s going into me.
What is your favourite food? I like chicken, mainly fried chicken, but I find I enjoy making more Italian foods, oddly enough.
-Takami
[Handler’s note: Edit the talk about Skyfall to make it seem he was speaking about his cousin rather than himself.]
-
Hello Takami,
Oh, god hearing about Hawks flying into three billboards is HILARIOUS. Thanks for telling me! I hope he wasn’t hurt, though. It’s nice that Skyfall gives you things too. I’m happy you’re enjoying new hobbies!
I really like pork katsudon. My mom makes it for me, and it’s great! I tried once to cook it and, well… I’m no cook. I don’t know why. I just cannot cook. It’s rather funny…
[Hander’s note: Edit the talk with Hawks. Adjust her mentioning of her elementary school.]
JANUARY
Tokoyami
… Frankenstein is a challenging read. I find myself drifting while attempting the effort of reading it. Sadly, I eventually decided to give up and switch to a different novel. I feel ashamed that I am unable to read either Frankenstein or Dracula. Both are such glorious examples of gothic literature, but I cannot read them.
How was your week? You mentioned getting into an argument with Bakugou, did you not? Has it been resolved, or were you forced to get your mother involved? How about the school itself?
Sincerely,
Tokoyami Fumikage
-
Dear Tokoyami,
I have had a good week so far. I did end up going to my mom, who had to talk to Auntie Mitsuki. Mom told me that Mitsuki still seemed very unconcerned. I don’t get it; I thought me telling her that Kacchan’s bullying is annoying and rude would get her to stop. School is alright, though. We had a jerk sub who made Quirkist comments, but he commented on ‘Explosive Villains’ concerning Kacchan, so he got punished. Yeah, it’s unfair. I know.
I tried Frankenstein too, and I think it’s because of how old the books are we’re struggling with them. They’re not bad, but the style is very…
Todoroki
… you did not need to get me a present but thank you. I enjoyed the candy. I never had many of them and was surprised by how much I liked them. The rest of my birthday wasn’t bad. Natsuo got me some comic books he thought I’d like about ice heroes and Fuyumi made soba.
Sincerely,
Todoroki
-
Dear Todoroki,
I’m happy you had a good birthday! I hoped that you would like them. They’re from this little shop a few streets over from me. They’re imported but pretty cheap still! Though I’ll say, nothing beats a KitKat sometimes.
You mentioned that your dad was angry about the possibility of having a Quirk that works with oxygen instead of the two Quirks you had, particularly if you have chimerism. Well…
Iida
… I can see why you enjoy Tamora Pierce. Her books are quite good, and I am enthralled by the struggles Kel appears to be going through. Joren is a despicable character, and I hope he is forced to face the consequences of his actions. I plan on reading Squire in a week due to a test.
Have you given any thought to the recent billboard chart? I was thinking about them and wanted to ask if you have any strong opinions on the recent changes.
Sincerely,
Iida Tenya
-
Dear Iida,
I’m glad you like the series! I won’t spoil it, but I am eager to see your reaction to things happening in Squire! Out of curiosity, have you had to get the Anti-Cheating Board involved? My mother had to call them often when I was younger due to multiple teachers insisting I cheated due to the high marks I got. Apparently, being Quirkless meant I couldn’t have such a high mark.
I have many thoughts, starting with WHO THOUGHT THAT…
Monoma
… I am torn. On the one hand, the idea of only using villain Quirks against them is very delightful as it allows me to terrify them. On the other you’re right; having a guaranteed Quirk in my back pocket would do me much better in the long run. And yes, I do need to work on my physical ability.
Have you found any martial arts that would accept you? I know you said they were hard to come by.
-Monoma
-
Hello Monoma,
I understand why you like the idea, but let's be honest: many Quirks take time to get down. Look at Best Jeanist. His entire Quirk is thread manipulation. He took it to a level few would ever consider. Can you actually think of all the ways to use it?
As for martial arts, it’s less about finding a place to accept me and more about trying to make sure none of the bullies from my school harass the class...
Shinsou
… and frankly, I don’t know why you seem so convinced Bakugou is a good guy. I wanted to brainwash him to walk into a wall, and I only spoke to him for five minutes while our parents ‘politely’ talked. Mom told me I did good, not reacting to his snarled comments. I wish Dad had let me stay home, but he thought it would be okay since you knew him.
Not that I’m blaming you. Not your fault Bakugou decided to be a Quirkist jerk about my Quirk. I already knew he was a jerk to you.
-Shinsou
-
Hello Shinsou,
Apologies for that. If it makes you feel better, Kacchan was complaining about his mom and dad grounding him for ‘risking their stupid connections’ and that ‘a rival designer shouldn’t be that important.’ He got told by one of his lackeys that, of course, they’d be upset with him for that.
I still hold out hope over him one day waking up. He was my best friend, after all. I…
Takami
… I’m not sure if having an agency as soon as I turn eighteen is smart. It’s going to be a money sink, and sure the Commission thinks it’s a good idea, but what if I just flop? I just don’t know what to do, you know?
-Takami
[Handler’s Note: edit everything to be as if Hawks is talking of his cousin rather than himself]
-
Hello Takami,
Has Hawks considered just going independent? Speaking from the various trends, I noticed those who go independent before creating a hero agency do much better in the hero rankings. For example, Endeavour started his agency immediately but faced a lot of backlash for it until the Fire King encounter…
[Handler’s Note: Edit to be as if she knows Hawks is Hawks. Also, why did no one else pick this up?! She’s 11!]
FEBRUARY
Tokoyami
… Thank you again for the candied apple slices. Dark Shadow enjoyed them immensely, as did I. You are correct as well: the amount Dark Shadow ate was converted into energy which kept me up for the night. My mother and father have declared we are not to do so again.
How did you figure it out?
Revelry in the Dark,
Tokoyami

Rapture in the Brilliance,
I’m happy you guys enjoyed it! I got the idea after a night of binging an old show with ghosts that had them gaining energy after having caffeine. My brain started going, and I wondered if it would be possible for you. I’m glad I was right! Perhaps as a hero, you could carry energy drinks. I wonder, as well, if caffeine being introduced would lessen the effects of sunlight…
Todoroki
… Thank you for the chocolate. Endeavour told me I was allowed to eat it, and I greatly enjoyed it. I’ve had other chocolates before, but I really liked this one. Was it homemade? Natsuo made a joke about it that I pretended not to understand. He doesn’t get that I do have access to the internet.
Right now, we’re friendly, if not outright friends. I hope we continue being friends even if you do not pick me. So don’t worry about me assuming anything.
Sincerely,
Todoroki
-
Dear Todoroki,
I wasn’t worried until now. I like making chocolate, so some giri choco isn’t hard. But I am happy you’re aware it was meant in the spirit of friends. My mom got startled when I told her about this and went: I write romance novels, but romance is still a mystery before she walked off. It was amusing. I made the chocolate with some raspberries because…
Iida
… in the end, your advice led to us discovering that one of our sidekicks was the mole. Or, well, Tensei found it, but he said I deserve credit for helping point out the odd comments on Twitter. Which I would not have thought to do so if you did not inform me to try. So my thanks to you for that- we are going to pay you once more.
As well, thank you for the chocolate! Tensei and I laughed at the Sonic shapes. He said I should go by Sonic as a hero, which I told him just no. I must ask, though, how did you figure I like dark chocolate?
Sincerely,
Iida Tenya
-
Dear Iida,
I’m happy you guys figured it out! Honestly, it was a guess a sidekick may be supplying villains with info! I suggested Twitter because many people tend to be a little oblivious even now that social media isn’t an utterly anonymous thing unless you go through the steps to do so! Mom is now saying with the payment; we can afford a middle school like Yavin for the entire three years, so thank you!
As for the chocolate, well, Iida, you spent three paragraphs a few emails ago complaining about how sweet milk chocolate is…
Monoma
… upon informing the imbecile that I did receive giri choco, he laughed in my face and said a weakling like me couldn’t have gained anyone’s eye unless it was for my money. I couldn’t refute it. I know in the end, this is for the fact I am rich, and it entirely depends on me wooing you or at least befriending you the rest. So I ask why? I’m rude, and my mother’s told me off for some of my emails, so why still speak to me? I’m sure you picked other wealthier people.
-Monoma
-
Hello Monoma,
Yes, you’re rude, but I don’t care because I love debating with you. Do you know how hard it is to find people willing to argue with me like you are? No one else likes analysis like me, so it’s excellent to rage together over the hero charts. I may be in it due to the money, and I won’t lie about that, but I consider you a true friend.
 So…
Shinsou
… the fact that I got any sort of chocolate caused a rumour to go around about me brainwashing whoever gave it to me. I then clarified I was speaking with a potential match for an arranged marriage. I was jumped by a group of other students who wanted to… take care of the idea of me breeding. That’s the polite way.
I hate it. I hate it; I can’t stand this. It sucks, and I want to die sometimes because why do they do this? Why hurt me? Why? Because my Quirk is scary?! You’re lucky that you don’t get that.
-
Shinsou,
Thanks to some older kids hearing about the betrothal letters, I got jumped last week. They wanted me to ‘know my place’ and not ‘rise above my station.’ I don’t know what those guys wanted to do to you, but my group wanted to beat the crap out of me and scar me. It sucks; it really does. But I won’t play the trauma game with you.
 We’ll both lose…
Takami
… the chocolate was good. I liked how you managed to put that filling into it, made it tasty. I ended up going to try out some recipes too. One of the sidekicks at Skyfall’s agency got upset that I got chocolate and made some advances. I shut it down, she’s kind of a bitch, but she tried to spread rumours. Sad for her, there were cameras around!
The handlers made it clear to Skyfall to look into that. I got a book from the guy as an apology, another book about plants! This time it was all about fruit. When I get my own apartment, I can arrange for a room to be changed into a little greenhouse. It would be helpful.
-Takami
[Handler’s Note: Edit the talk about the sidekick. Either have as if cousin Hawks was the target or another student at whatever school we’re using. Also, for the apartment we’re arranging, see about changing to a larger place. The garden is practical and does make him approachable]
-
Hello Takami,
I’m happy you liked the chocolate! I had way too much fun with the fillings and styles. I think mom was very bored when she let me experiment. She’s now wondering how I can bake, but cooking does not work. I think it’s because it’s more of a science.
What happened to Hawks is awful. People spreading rumours are disgusting and should be fired or severely fined! Especially heroes- after the last scandal with Dr. Rich…
[Handler’s Note: Edit the talk, so she’s talking about him rather than his cousin. Also, look into this stuff. Seriously, how does a damn eleven-year-old girl figure this stuff out?]
MARCH
Tokoyami
… Mother says Yavin does look the best. Particularly with their anti-bullying policy. As their founder was like me, a creature of the night, it would need to be the best. The darkness is within us all, and Yavin shall keep it safe.
I have created a poem for you, one of darkness and light to suit you as well as I. Happy White Day, beacon of the light.
Revelry in the Dark,

 Rapture in the Brilliance,
Tokoyami, you’re my friend, and I care for you, but the whole darkness thing doesn’t translate well through email. It just looks strange. The poem is beautiful, though! I ended up framing it to put on my wall along with my pictures of famous charity heroes and posters of pros! There’s actually one group you might like too!
The Fae Court is a group of Canadian heroes who all are…
Todoroki
… Fuyumi is very confused by my skill in the kitchen. I enjoy it, though and was proud of the food I made. Endeavour scoffed when he heard, calling it woman’s work. I told Fuyumi, who got quiet. She looked confused too, which Natsuo remarked shouldn’t be a surprise. They tried to hide the argument, but I heard some of it. Fuyumi simply does not wish to accept how our father is. It’s rather frustrating.
I hope you enjoy the chocolate that I sent.
Sincerely,
Todoroki
-
Dear Todoroki,
I did enjoy the chocolate! I found that the mint was nice when paired with both milk and white chocolate. I never thought of combining those tastes!!
I’m getting somewhat worried with these emails talking about your father. Plus, he’s also just rude. Cooking is not a woman’s work- look at Lunch Rush! His entire Quirk is based on cooking!! I told my mom, and she decided to tell me about a prank she played on her parents when they told her about her arranged marriage that failed horribly…
Iida
… I would have kicked him, but sadly my Quirk is in my legs which would have made it possible to call it illegal Quirk use. So I punched him instead. I still got in trouble, but I managed to point out the various horrific things he said, and after listening, the teacher put him in trouble. Yet, I wonder if it is because of the fact his Quirkist, horrific words were against the rules or because I said something.
But onto better topics, did you like the notebook I sent? I thought of chocolate, but I know of your love for writing and decided to send it instead.
Sincerely,
Iida Tenya
-
Dear Iida,
I won’t say that it was probably the son of a hero family who forced the teacher to take action. We don’t know, and from the sounds of it, the student spoke against mutation Quirks. That often gets smacked down quickly. I know that people still can argue saying things about Quirkless people isn’t Quirkist but who knows?
I also loved the notebook! It’s amazing!!! I love how big it is and that while it’s leather, I can fold it in half so I can still write!!! Thank you…
Monoma
… and I simply had to brag about your cooking. The fools in my class deserved it for the comments about my Quirk. I hope that the gift I gave you was received in time. A fantastic gift as you gave me deserves proper thanks.
Also- you’re wrong about the idea that Hawks could easily break into the top hundred with his Quirk in the next two years. Flying and telekinetic feathers simply will not cut it. Instead, I believe he’ll take around five while he works on his hand-to-hand more.
-Monoma
-
Monoma,
You don’t want my cooking. Baking is different, trust me. Also, they deserved mocking for being jerks, but lying about that feels weird. And I did love the book. An entire history of Quirk classifications?! Of course, I would love it! It’s amazing!!
Also, you’re wrong. I’m sending the links to the various fights he has gone hand in hand. He’s terrifying with a sword. Plus, he’s one of the most versatile…
Shinsou
… name is Yaoyorozu Momo. She seems interesting, but frankly, I kinda pegged her as the ‘innocently insensitive type.’ Not maliciously on purpose, but someone I’d prefer to get a wake-up call before she goes into heroics. She seems like the type to be utterly oblivious to the struggles of others.
Anyway, I hope you like your gift. Dad said prank supplies weren’t great until I told him you’d probably use them on Bakugou. Then he was all for it.
-Shinsou
-
Hello Shinsou,
I did use them on Bakugou. I had a good laugh at his confusion, along with a lot of the class. Of course, he was furious about that and targeted the class prankster. I felt bad, but given Muhi had dumped paint on me last week… the feelings didn’t last.
I find it interesting that many people don’t look outside their bubbles. You undoubtedly didn’t before we met, don’t lie. Yaoyorozu sounds like a rich girl who never had to save what we have, so…
Takami
… paperwork is tedious, and I consider it the devil. More so since I will be going independent now and not have someone to shove it off on. I kind of hate that you suggested it, but you raised good points about the whole situation. Whatever.
I hope you enjoyed the gift! I thought you might like a plant to put more greenery in your room. I know you have green hair, but the picture they gave me was old—something about security, whatever.
-Tamaki
[Handler’s Note: Edit the part about the old photo and adjust the rest. Also, I am still annoyed that the child figured this out first]
-
Hello Tamaki,
Homework is always dull, but at least you can try out some hero paperwork. I did like the plant! Thanks for making sure it was hardy; I’m confident I’ll kill anything too delicate. Though I realized something thanks to the last email: I missed your birthday in December! I’m so sorry!
I don’t know if you’d like a gift, but here is a list of possible ways to use your Quirk inspired by an argument with a friend over Hawks…
[Handler’s Note: Edit everything to incriminating. And fire our counsellor for Hawks. We are slacking]

Tokoyami
… I was then informed that I may be a chuunibyou, but I am not evil or cruel to others. They commented on my demon, and I just… I don’t know. Dark Shadow is a dark force in my life, a shadow whom lives in my being, but they aren’t a monster. I may speak of them in dark tones, but I never truly mean it. I do not know how to feel about this.
Revelry in the Dark,

Rapture in the Brilliance,
Tokoyami, there is NOTHING wrong with you being a chuunibyou. And there is nothing wrong with Dark Shadow. They’re the ones who are wrong for acting as if having Dark Shadow makes you evil. They’re a part of you, like your feathers. Dark Shadow never minds being called the shadow of your life, those videos you send of them prove that.
If you really are worried, maybe talk with a Quirk Counsellor…
Todoroki
… then Natsuo put dye into Endeavour’s shampoo. It didn’t work as well as we’d hoped, given pink wouldn’t dye red well, but we had a laugh. Well worth the extra training, in my opinion, though Fuyumi told us off.
Have you ever pulled a prank? I find myself enjoying them when I pull them with Natsuo. He’s been spending even more time with me, often looking a little sad when I mention he’s spending more time with me. I wonder why.
Sincerely,
Todoroki
-
 Dear Todoroki,
I WONDERED WHY ENDEAVOUR SEEMED SO MAD! His hair did look a bit different in the news too! That’s hilarious. If you want to recreate it, try black. Or… does liquid catnip actually work? It seems like such a fanfic trope, but it would be hilarious to see if it does attract all the cats.
I have pulled pranks. Mostly on Kacchan, who never suspects me. I don’t get why. It’s not like I hide them…
Iida
… while my mutation is not like others, I am angry towards people making remarks about mutations. Due to the fact they are engines, I often go to a mechanic as well, though regrowing them is not their duty. So whenever someone mocks anyone for needing to visit a vet, I want to say something.
But I find myself choking a little. My mutation is something few look twice at. Those who call me a robot are more often commenting on my behaviour. Do I have a right to be upset? To speak out?
Sincerely,
Iida Tenya.
-
Hello Iida,
Yes, you do. It would mean a lot for many people to have you speak out. Your mutation may not be as extreme as others, but it is still a mutation. Bringing that up will bring into question what a mutation is. I’ve included some links, but the truth is a lot of Quirks could have been considered a mutation years ago. Why? Because it adds something to the body that most do not. Take my father’s Fire Breath: he possesses an extra organ in his lungs to create…
Monoma
… after that, they were arrested. Mother told me to keep quiet more about my Quirk, even though I wish to scream it from the heavens. It’s just not fair. I either am wanted by villains due to it, or my peers despise me. Even though I do not take Quirks, it is seen as villainous or cheating to use a Quirk not your own. Even if I use it.
We’ve spoken about your schooling, but how would your peers react to me?
-Monoma
-
Hello Monoma,
I don’t think you’d have a good experience here. They prefer the larger Quirks rather than the quiet ones. The ones you use your brain for. I’m at the bottom of the pile, but there is a kid who can yank his eyes from his skull who is considered only a few steps above me. Kacchan is at the top. I wonder, though, given I’ve read so many articles about bullying, how they would react if we were at any other school. After all, explosive Quirks are either heroic or villainous, depending on whom you speak to.
It’s the same with Copy Quirks…
Shinsou
… I feel sick. I just never connected it, you know? I never considered that anyone else could be hurt by others, that I wasn’t the only bullied person. I even thought you were the odd one out. But now, after the conference Aunt Rumi dragged me to… I feel disgusted. Those stories broke me. I didn’t face some of the same stuff, and… just damn.
I am so sorry for what I said and implied. But, even more, I’m ashamed that I still didn’t really believe you until now.
-Shinsou
-
Hello Shinsou,
I’m happy you understand a bit better. It does suck it took until now for it to click for you, but it’s good that you do now. That’s why I want to work with charities. Even when I am a pro-hero, I want to work with them. To help people like you and like me. To help people who are bullied, who are told they’re less. You know how lucky we are now. Kacchan may be cruel, but he’s also stepped in for many of the worse things. And my mom…
Takami
… then I flew into a window. I broke my wing, so I’m benched for a while. My handlers got mad, but they’re letting me focus on learning recovery meals, so I’m happy. It’s a lot of fun to do! So far, I’ve learned a lot about the body and what helps it recover.
I also have a few questions, if you don’t mind me asking. You’ve mentioned a friend and his weird behaviour about the various offers. Does he have a crush on you? Or do you think he does? Because it certainly sounds like he does from my perspective. Are you worried about him trying anything?
-Takami
[Handler’s note: Usual edits.]
-
Hello Takami,
I hope your wing will be okay! I’m glad you’re eating well right now! As for your questions… It's complicated. Kacchan has been my best friend since we were little. Our parents know each other. But he’s hurt me a lot. I don’t entirely blame him; he’s been told for years it’s okay, he can do that. But he still, you know, hurts me.
As for a crush, I don't think so. Kacchan is smart; he’d know he can’t even be considered with how much he’s bullied me. But, I think his parents are oblivious with how…
[Handler’s note: Usual edits. Also, this Kacchan character should be watched.]

Fumikage, I am not going to lie. It was interesting to read, but it ran together after the first few lines. Using the word thy lost its meaning after a while. Try for a more modern term, maybe? I know what you’re going for, but…
Todoroki
… I then showed Endeavour the list you created of different ways to train my Quirk properly. He got very quiet before telling me, and I quote, ‘Go to your room, Shouto, so you can tell Midoriya that she better accept you or else.’ So here I am, offering the ‘or else’ threat he gave.
Sincerely,
Shouto.
-
Dear Shouto,
Are you guys okay? Like seriously, you’ve said a lot of stuff, but like would Endeavour actually threaten me to pick you? It seems so petty and just not worth the time and energy. That being said if you really wanna mess with him…
Iida
… Mother slapped Father for his comment, saying that his reaction was not allowed, thanks to what she’d learned about him. I don’t know what happened, but Tensei told me I ‘do not want to know’ even though I genuinely do. I just wish I could adequately articulate my confusion. What happened that made mother so mad?
Sincerely,
Tenya
-
Dear Tenya,
From the sounds of it, the entire thing involved you. Your parents were arguing about the agency, right? And you said they stepped down for you, right? So your father may be planning something about the agency your mother doesn’t like. Though until it happens, I doubt...
Monoma
… you didn’t need to get me anything, Izumi, but thank you. The poster looks fantastic on my wall. How did you manage to find a poster about Quirk types? It’s incredible, and I want to know!
That said, I have to wow you now for your birthday.
-Neito
-
Hello Neito,
No, you don’t need to wow me! Just give me something you think I’ll like! And I got the poster from my dad’s girlfriend. She does art in her spare time and was willing to make it for me. Of course, I paid her, but she made it. I think it’s super cool too. I actually didn’t know that about mutation types until Dad…
Shinsou
… and here is a picture of Auntie Rumi after the catnip incident:
[Picture of pro-hero Miruko glaring at the camera, an orange cat on her head biting her ear. Miruko is covered in green plant matter]
She couldn’t get the catnip off for a week. Dad gave me 54000 yen for it. HA!
-Hitoshi
-
 Hitoshi,
I DIED laughing at this picture; you don’t understand. Miruko is widely known to be this badass, and here she is, felled by a CAT. HA! Oh god, I can’t stop laughing…
Takami
… I still say chicken is better than pork but to each their own. And no, this does not make me a cannibal! Hawks eat other birds, thank you!
Adding to this, you have a point that filing down my talons is an issue, but there are issues in keeping them as long as I can grow them. It’s hard to pick things up and hard to set things down. Plus, typing, eating and more is difficult. The world isn’t made for talons.
-Keigo
[Handler’s Note: Usual edit.]
-
Keigo,
I see your point about your talons. But keeping them short could also cause problems. Maybe growing them out a bit more than what’s considered normal will work. They can be a great backup…

Tokoyami
… I have been attempting to find the perfect gothic style for myself, but I find myself lost. The Victorian look I have been attempting falls short of my dark desires, but the more modern version feels fake. It greatly relies on using Quirks, and I wonder if it works for me.
Revelry in the Dark,
Fumikage
-
Rapture in the Brilliance,
You could go with pre-Modern goth? You know more of the styles in the early 20th century before Quirks. They have a bit in common with current gothic styles, though…
Todoroki
… [image of Todoroki and a woman with white hair streaked in red. Both are covered in flour, but both are sort of smiling] Making buckwheat noodles from scratch is more challenging than one would expect. Natsuo delighted in taking as many photos as he could. It was one of the nicest weekends I’ve had when Endeavour is out of the house.
Sincerely,
Shouto
-
Dear Shouto,
Oh wow! That looks like a lot of fun! I’m happy you’re spending more time with your siblings. Not much has changed here. Mom and I are learning more self-defence together until I can get into a class that will accept me. [Image of Izumi posing with her mom in mock hero poses]. It’s going well!
Iida
… and now my brother is the happy cause of a million memes with which he is spamming all group chats. [Image of Pro-Hero Ingenium who has run into a wall] He won’t stop. At all. Which I suppose is not too bad with the drama going around about my father. Mother is speaking of divorce, and Tensei is trying to keep me out of the way. I just do not know what’s going on.
Sincerely,
Tenya
-
Hello Tenya,
I’m sorry this is happening. Unfortunately, I don’t have advice to give. My parents split years ago and may remain married, but that’s due to legal reasons. All I can say is to focus on yourself, not your parents. This is their issue going down, and while you don’t know…
Monoma
… the fight took way too long. If Endeavour hadn’t tried to show off, it could have been over in ten minutes by my count. He also used too much fire; around 40% of the civilians there earned burns! Honestly, how that man is still number two, I don’t understand.
-Neito
-
Neito,
He closes over 95% of his cases and has a 90% success rate. That’s really impressive, considering how often heroes end up botching their cases. Which is something I think needs more focus. Hero work has required a degree of detective skill for years and...
Shinsou
… [Image of Shinsou looking exhausted as Miruko holds him up the back of his shirt, the bunny hero grinning ferally at the camera] Auntie says that she thanks you for convincing me I need to actually work out. I, in turn, want to die now. She’s gonna kill me, I swear.
-Hitoshi
-
Hitoshi,
You’re the one who thought he could be a hero just with his Quirk. We have people like Eraserhead out there, and you’re assuming you can just- what? Use your Quirk all the time? What about people who know it and don’t respond? You need to…
Takami
… [Picture of Hawks deadpanning at the camera as Skyfall mimics his look. Behind them is a villain talking] monologuing is going to claim so many villains. They just will not shut up, and it becomes this huge should we… wait how long until they notice us? It’s ridiculous.
-Keigo
[Handler’s note: Edit it so it’s as if Hawks told the story to his cousin]
-
Keigo,
There’s this old pre-quirk movie where they discuss that supervillains tend to monologue. I’m curious, honestly, now about how often your cousin runs into these. It sounds so fake. Why would a villain take the time…
[Handler’s note: Usual edit.]
JULY
Tokoyami
… I hope you enjoy your gift. I believe it completely captures my thoughts on you and your skills. Your mind is as sharp as a dagger, my friend, and I hope you know no matter what you choose, I will always be your friend.
Revelry in the Dark,
Fumikage
-
Rapture in the Brilliance,
I love my gift! An entire book on various ways Quirks have been used in combat and in the theatre? That’s amazing! I knew Quirks were used in entertainment, but I never thought that…
Todoroki
… I wish to inform you that I did pick out the gift despite my father’s encouragement for a different one. I knew you would prefer a book on Quirk science more than a book on heroics and the jobs associated with them. I hope we can continue to speak no matter whom you choose.
Sincerely,
Shouto
-
Dear Shouto,
You’d be right; I do prefer a book on Quirk science. I know enough about heroes. I don’t need another book on that, but Quirk science changes so much that it’s impossible to really pinpoint…
Iida
… as such, thank you from both Tensei and me for your words concerning our parents. We spoke with them, and both agreed to counseling before considering divorce, but both decided that if they cannot reconcile, they will divorce.
I hope you enjoy the gift I have sent for your birthday and wish to impart my joy over our friendship!
Sincerely,
Tenya
-
Dear Tenya,
I’m happy that your parents are taking this seriously! And I love the gift!!! Signed merch from Ingenium, Midnight, Present Mic, Thirteen, Manual and Native!? I am so HAPPY that you got this!! I love it!! My mom…
Monoma
… we need to meet up for HeroCon in September; I don’t care that you may not pick me. We need to argue about Quirks in person and go to the Quirk panel! That’s why I sent you tickets so we can go!
-Neito
-
Neito,
YOU GOT VIP PASSES TO HEROCON FOR MY BIRTHDAY?! Holy HELL, NEITO, THIS IS AWESOME! I can’t wait! Isn’t Best Jeanist and Gang Orca supposed to be there? I heard they were going to have some sort of announcement…
Shinsou
… Thank you for the book on mental Quirked heroes. It was a great gift, particularly the parts where they discussed how to fight using their Quirks still. I didn’t know so much of my habits were due to my Quirk.
I hope my birthday gift for you is just as well received. I will keep talking to you, no matter what.
-Hitoshi
-
 Hitoshi,
I’m glad you liked the book! I thought it would be right up your alley. And I love the text on pre-Quirk martial arts! It’s amazing! So much of today is based on Quirked bodies that I stumble during my attempts, so…
Takami
… I hope you like the gift I gave you! I thought about it and figured out exactly what you’d like. Thank the Commission, too; they even agreed this was a gift, not a loan. They’re very particular about that.
Since the month is drawing closer, even though we still have emails to go, I want to keep talking. You’re a good friend Izumi, and you helped me a lot with the stuff the Commission does.
-Keigo
[Handler’s Note: Edit as usual. I also support further conversation between Midoriya and Hawks. Also, adjust the waiver for someone at Midoriya’s age.]
-
Keigo,
THANK YOU! The martial arts classes are going to be so helpful! A whole year paid!! Thank you!! I can’t wait to try it out! You’ve been a great friend Keigo yourself…
-0-
At the end of it, Izumi sat in her room. Papers were in front of her, littered with the pros and cons of each suitor. She had to choose and had to decide soon.
 But who should she pick?

Notes:
-The International Hero Tournament is basically a bunch of heroes sparring for the world to see. It’s an idea I’ve been spitballing for a year or so where a Quirkless hero appears at one but it’s always been something I’m never happy with. I included it here for fun.
-I was pretty young when I first read Stephen King. I think… eleven or twelve was when I saw the movie Salem’s Lot (terrified the hell out of me) and the Shinning (that one I thought was dumb). I read the books shortly after and they didn’t scare me. It really depends on maturity level. Tokoyami here is judged as mature enough.
-Christmas isn’t really a Japanese thing. It’s more for couples than not. Their winter break usually starts on December 26 and they’re more focused on January 1st as New Years. I know there’s a Christmas short for MHA but I’m like 95% that it was a money grab since it has such a huge Western following.
-Todoroki is in fact a chimera! Some tend to have autoimmune diseases and celiac is one so… here! Natsuo feels bad for hating on his brother now that he knows actually he could have had twin brothers and instead Todoroki ate his sibling. So Todoroki has twin chimerism! They knew he would get sick after having soy sauce and some wheat based dishes but didn’t connect it. They thought it was an allergy to, like, soy or something, so they cut it out.
-Frankenstein and Dracula were books I could not get through. Kudos to those who can but I just couldn’t.
-Bakugou being Quirkist was a debate I had when I wrote that. Given his terrible attitude to Izuku, it’s not impossible. I honestly don’t think he is Quirkist though and here he isn’t. He’s just very much an asshole and didn’t want to be there, so he lashed out because he never faced issues doing so. Of course, here the Shinsou family were angry and stopped even considering an end to their rivalry.
-Todoroki is not an idiot. A little socially oblivious but, like, personally I like to think he’s also a conniving little shit at times who KNOWS what he’s doing. I have written fanfics (not posted they were spite written after a comment about another fic) where he is obtuse but that’s out of a messed up desperation. However, usually I just think he’s a little shit.
-I am having way too much fun with this. Hawks getting hobbies and being really into them is fun. But it’s all useful stuff he can do. Growing plants means he can have a lot of fresh food. Cooking so he doesn’t rely on others. It’s approachable to. Yeah, the commission sucks still here. (Y'all probably guessed it)
-Is Yaoyorozu actually like that or is Hitoshi being Hitoshi? You decide.
-A heavy headcanon is Todoroki can cook. I do it for the househusband Todoroki who lives in my head honestly. He just never tried it before.
-I read a few fics where Fuyumi was full on abuse apologist and refused to admit that her parents were bad and so on. But honestly to me Fuyumi knows, and admits it but she’s very wrapped up in ‘things are okay’ or ‘things happen for a reason’. Or ‘he said sorry so things are okay’. She won’t admit that some things are too broken to fix because she relies on the idea of a perfect family. So in this AU, Fuyumi is very focused on the idea that things will be okay. Shouto has the Quirk her father wanted, so things should be okay! They should be happy…
-Yep. Hitoshi is related to Miruko! I have no regrets! One person guessed it!!
-I will never understand the trope that the HPSC makes Hawks file down his talons/removed his mutation traits. It just makes zero sense because frankly they want a hero to be skilled and I can’t see them risking damaging Hawks’ abilities by removing parts of him. Plus, while yes some people have very long nails, we’re talking about talons. As in curved things that would affect how people interact, so Hawks does file them for convenience here.
-Honestly, I’ve been debating how to handle everyone’s friendship when Izumi picks. I know a few would continue being good friends, but others would just become infrequent penpals. I don’t think anyone would be too mad. Maybe some angry words but it would be smoothed over later on.

A Polite Response to my Abuser
I've been meaning to crawl back onto Tumblr all week, and this is not how I meant to do it, but uh... So my abusive parent sent me a fantastically horrible email. And I'm so furious I really wanted to reply, so I wrote the reply. But in the end I think it's better to not give them the satisfaction. So I'm not actually sending it. But I feel like I have to put this somewhere or I'm going to scream, so I guess I'm tossing it here. I promise I'll add some more fun content asap! Maybe my collection of thoughts about Kavinsky, which is starting to feel like the guy with the board of red strings. "Kavinsky is a good boy, actually, if you just follow this string here--" Also my brain has been stuck in this fucking hole of Dream Pack Adam AU thoughts. And I've been toying with headcanons for Jiang bc he does not get enough love. Also why is there not more Swan and Proko content when they have FUCKING MATCHING CARS??? And the wait for Greywaren is seriously K I L L I N G me ugh ugh.
To be clear: you don't deserve a response, but I'm writing one anyway. I don't expect it to make a difference, of course. More than the old adage about old dogs and new tricks, I don't think you want to change. But I'm going to say it anyway.
To start: the idea that you are my mother is not "just fact", actually. You are my genetic progenitor, while mother implies a deeper connection that you have not earned. I have, on multiple occasions, given you opportunities to change that, but you remain incapable of rising to the challenge. Despite that all I've ever asked is that you behave like an adult and actually treat me like a human being. So despite what you claim, you have turned your back on me more times and in more ways than I can count. The fact that you fail to acknowledge this is frankly baffling. Do you think I'm unaware?
You can choose to rewrite events so you don't have to deal with them. That's your prerogative. But it does not change the actual events. You were yelling at me, twice, on two different subjects. This was so bad that someone knocked on my door afterwards asking if I was okay, since as we discussed previously, you were on speaker as my phone doesn't work otherwise. So, no. We are not talking about your "tone". We are talking about yelling in a way audible from the hallway such that a stranger was concerned. Not that this is new behavior for you.
You asked me and I responded honestly, saying that it would be a huge help, but that it was okay if you couldn't cover my insurance. And then you're yelling at me like I'm mugging you at gunpoint. And this was after the point where I had to point out that making me feel unsafe does not make it easier for me to do things I struggle with.
I have diagnosed post-traumatic stress disorder tied to your abuse and the way you behave towards me. You know, that thing that people in warzones have, because that's what interacting with you is like. The explosion is always inevitable, I just never know how or when it'll happen.
It's not trying to take advantage of your offer of financial assistance -- every time I said that you did not have to, you said that you wanted to help. And you refused to elucidate in any way what the issue was. All while continuing to yell at me and make me uncomfortable for no discernable reason. The issue is, as always, the fact that you don't treat me with even basic human decency. The fact that every time I try to make space so you can step into my life, you just prove that you still see me as a defenseless child you can hit with no repercussions. And yet I've kept giving you chances. But that's never good enough for you, because you don't want chances. You don't want an opportunity to build a relationship, to see if there exists the potential for a relationship that isn't built on fear. You want unquestioning love without bothering to question if you even deserve it. You show zero regard for my comfort or boundaries, or even the slightest hint that you're aware that there are barriers to what you're asking for. Likely because you can't acknowledge those barriers are your own behavior.
The fact that you still turn verbally abusive despite the number of times that I've told you I wont tolerate that behavior further is the issue. Not that I'm "entitled" and "ungracious". This time I am following through.
I can't believe I have to explain this to you, but the way that you behave, and how you treat people, has consequences. This is especially true when it comes to exercising their right to decide how they want to interact with you.
An example of one of those consequences is the degree to which I feel comfortable including you in my life. You talk about entitlement, and yet fail to see it in the way you talk about how I keep you from talking to my doctors, as if that's a level of trust that you think you deserve. Simply, the more that you make it clear that you can't behave in a way that is safe for other people, even over the phone, the less able I am to interact with you. Full stop. I would, frankly, love to have a functional parent, who cared for me and was able to support me when I'm dealing with things that are challenging and sometimes beyond what I'm capable of. Not even necessarily in a way that involves money, but just someone who could talk to me and be there and be a comfort when I'm overwhelmed because I'm dealing with a lot of things and need help figuring things out. Unfortunately, both of my parents were damaged people before I was born. And sending me stuff has always been easier for you than being responsive to how I feel. You've been emotionally abusive throughout my entire life, and you have proven over and over that you have no interest in changing those behaviors.
So the fact you can say feeling like I don't have a support system is an illusion, and insist that you're always there for me without a shred of self-awareness is horrifyingly insulting on a level you clearly don't care enough to grasp. You act as if your presence and your support comes without cost and without threat and without feelings that damage my safety when that is absurdly untrue.
If I dated someone, and we broke up because they hit me in the face, I might give them a chance to prove that they were not that still that person if we met years later. But I sure as hell would not get back together with them after meeting a couple times for Starbucks. And if they yelled at me during one of those meetings and proved they were still incapable of communicating in a way that didn't reference that old violence, I would very abruptly stop giving them the opportunity. And that isn't entitlement, that is prioritizing my own fucking safety. You say that you're "tired of trying". But the problem is that you don't actually seem interested in trying in the first place. You want to skip to the end- to be welcomed with open arms- which isn't trying at all. You completely ignore the reasons being physically in your presence is difficult for me while you act wounded about being rebuffed.
Honestly, living with my dad was not all that I needed. But it was so much better than being consistently physically hit, and kicked, and yelled at, and verbally belittled, and told how worthless I was, that it was literally impossible for me to see it in any other light for most of my life. Do you remember how you used to call me "Bubbles" and demean me for daring to be happy to talk to someone who valued my existence? Because I do. Yes, you are clearly still the same person, and that is the problem. You say that you "did your best", but I honestly don't believe it. Or at least, if you did, your focus was not on the baby you chose to bring into the world. You made a choice that you were going to subject a baby to those struggles. You don't get a girl scout badge for toughing it out; there is no gold star for doing it on your own while you commit criminal levels of child abuse. You don't get a prize for living beyond your means and not being on welfare, and if you happen to hit your kid, well, that's just water under the bridge. Further, the problem with this victim narrative you're trying to spin, is that any struggles that you had a result of having a child, were struggles that you knowingly chose. You decided that you wanted that in your life. I obviously did not get any such choice when it came to being abused by my mother from before I'd even started kindergarten. So no, it's not that I don't understand that things were "difficult". It's simply that things being difficult does not justify or excuse the actions you took. You had options like adoption or foster care or letting my father have custody far earlier than you did, if being a mother was beyond your capabilities. Which it clearly was, by your own admissions. Being a dependent child, I had no choice in the matter.
You try to paint this as some saintly, virtuous suffering you went through -- but it isn't. I can imagine that situation, and yes, finding myself or a romantic partner with a child I was unprepared would be terrifying. I would seriously consider if being with me was the best option for the child -- not for me. But the first time I abused that child and realized that I was not a safe situation for them, I would have reckoned with what my options were for giving that child a chance at a good life, one that didn't include me. Which are choices that you had, but chose not to make. Do you remember when my friends and I called child protective services, and you charmed your way through that by bullying terrified children? And you weren't angry at the prospect of losing me, or because you loved me, but because you were afraid of how it would "look". Your issues with my father are, as always, between the two of you. I have no interest in the letter he wrote, because it doesn't change your actions. This whole aside about whether or not my father was delinquent on child support doesn't alter the fact that you systematically beat any concept of my own worth out of me. You know my dad had to insist that I allow him to hug me, because of how terrified I was of being touched from living with you. I could not conceive of any touch that didn't hurt. You did that. It's taken two decades for me to believe that I have a right to set boundaries, to want things that are not structured around being small and silent and appeasing the people around me out of fear. I believed that how things made me feel- or if I wanted them to stop- didn't matter, because of how you treated me and how worthless you convinced me I was. I struggle with hearing out of my right ear, and I still have the scar where you burned my hand with your cigarette. You don't get to blame the things you did on my dad when he was on the other side of the country.
Further, you say that I "live in the past", and that I'm "punishing you for my childhood", which just proves how disconnected you are from the reality of what all of this has meant for me. My point with these examples is that for me, none of this is "the past", because in many ways this is something that I continue to have to deal with. I still flinch at loud noises, or when people come up on my bad side, or when a door closes too loudly. And I still don't trust that people wont hurt me. Even the people I care about. Especially the people I care about.
This is my reality because of the degree to which you abused your own child, and because of that I do not get the luxury that you do. I don't get to just decide that I don't want to deal with this because it makes me feel bad. You've done such massive damage to my identity and self-image that I continue to have to work through it, a day at a time. I get memories as intrusive thoughts, I have triggers. If you want to talk about being entitled, telling the victim of your persistent abuse that they should just get over it and not talk about it is pretty fucking high. I am in therapy, actually, and I spend most of it trying to unravel all the things you told me. No, sorry, pointing these things out is not you being punished. It is a direct result from choices you've made to harm others, and behaviors that you continue to carry out. That is not punishment. That is just truth.
And as much as you claim that I'm fixated on the past as a way to hurt you, I very rarely have talked about any of this. I have almost never brought up the specifics of how much a specter of horror you were for me as a child. This is goodbye, in case that was unclear. And fucking fuck you. Cordially, James

🤡⛔🦅👀
🤡 What's a line, scene, or exchange you've written that made you laugh?
Oh my god this is like, the worst question for me, I basically only write sad stuff or at least I don’t go very funny most of the time. The only thing that really came to mind was in “warmer years than you’ve grown used to since then”, between alt!jt and polkadot.
“Are you still in Halifax, or-?”
“Ah, no, I’m in the Core.”
“You’re fucking where?” Jessie shouts. What the hell had she missed? “Polkadot Patterson what the fuck are you doing in- sorry, do you mean the core of the fucking planet or am I missing something?”
“A little bit of both? But yes, I am in the literal core right now. Blaseball is like that.”
“Yeah I guess it is dude!”
It’s not particularly funny but it makes me smile.
⛔ Do you have a fic you started, but scrapped?
I HAVE SO MANY IT’S SUCH A PROBLEM. like stuff that’s still in my folder:
flowers short circuits fic about lyra vitamin and lila icicle that i started on christmas 2021 and have touched once or twice since.
at least 3 parker/wyatt fics
a fic about lenny marijuana and alaynabella hollywood and instability
a fic about s2 sausage writing down the fleeting memories he has of the past
a rewrite of s1 of empires’ ending where the twins don’t leave sausage behind
and MORE! i have problems.
🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?
9/10 no. i’ve outlined 3 things ever, and everything else i’ve gone in with an idea of where i wanted to start, end, and maybe some specifics in between and said “alright now let’s find out how i get there”. i am the definition of letting the characters speak through me because that’s how things happen for me, i rarely go in with specifics. the only things i think i’ve EVER outlined are the york chapter of “you’ve got a pulse, you’ve got a problem” because i kept forgetting what season he ended up on the garages, the nagomi chapter of that that i’ve basically abandoned cause i kept forgetting what season she was on x team as well, and an empires fic that my friend and i planned to write together that hasn’t made it past the outline phase (sorry for airing out our dirty laundry vani but maybe that’ll make us actually finish it lol).
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
ooo this is a fun one. i just started a new empires one, we’ll see if i post it here when it’s done or if i finally cave and make a mcyt sideblog. but it’s basically a conversation between sausage and blood sausage/bratwurst, because i feel like nobody ever acknowledges that they were literally the same person for a while?? and this results in people giving blood sausage WAY less nuance, either totally woobifying him or totally woobifying sausage to make blood sausage look worse. and i think that’s a disservice to both of them and i’ve got so many thoughts about them and their relationship so hopefully this actually gets done before he is no longer a plot point.

So Long Chapter 9
Word Count: 3.5k
A/N: Wow! The last chapter is finally here! I have so much I want to say. First of all, thanks to everyone who has supported this story. I've put a lot of time and effort into it, and for the most part I'm very happy with how it turned out. I hope you've enjoyed it too!
Secondly, I just want you guys to know how ridiculously excited I got when I had the idea to use this gif. I've been on the edge of my seat for two weeks now waiting to use it. I don't even know why. I guess I just entertain myself. It's certainly the moment I've been waiting for anyway.
Last but not least, notes on this chapter. This might have been my favorite chapter to write. After all, it is what I've been working towards for a couple of months now. I really hope this is a satisfying ending for everyone after the weeks of buildup I've put you through. It took me several tries and rewrites to get it where I wanted, but I'm very proud of the outcome. Please let me know what you think of this chapter and the story as a whole. I would love some feedback!

Just started, it’s just started I’m having trouble believing it’s true Just started, just started Now we’ve got nothing to prove
Ages 24 and 25 August 2004
“That’s… You… I’m…” Dean trailed off, unable to complete a thought. His eyes kept darting back and forth between my eyes and his name. He took a deep, calming breath. “Really?” He questioned like he couldn’t quite believe it. Like he thought he read it wrong or I’d drawn his name on myself in sharpie or something.
I dropped my shirt and shrugged, not entirely sure how to interpret his reaction. Was showing him a mistake after all?
“Why didn’t you say anything?” He asked.
“What, you mean like ‘Hey, Dean. As you know, I turned 16 today, and guess who’s name showed up? Yours! I hope that’s not weird since you turned 16 over a year ago and haven’t said anything to me, so even though you’re my soulmate, I must not be yours?’”
“What? You think-” Dean sat on the bed and began unlacing his left boot. I watched, confused.
“What are you doing?” I asked him. He yanked his boot off, pushed his sock down and pulled the leg of his jeans up a little.
“You thought this was one sided?” He asked incredulously. He lifted his foot onto the bed, showing me his ankle.
My breath caught when I saw my name there. This was real, then. I really did belong to him the way he belonged to me. He didn’t have a different soulmate and my gut feeling that we were meant to be together was right, not just the product of longing for someone I could never have.
“You really thought that there was a possibility I could ever have anyone other than you as my soulmate?”
“Well, to be honest I kind of assumed you knew. Maybe not about the soulmate part,” I clarified when he scoffed and raised his eyebrows. “But at least how much I like you.”
He was still staring at me with a mixture of shock and exasperation, so I nervously barreled on.
“I mean, it seems like everywhere we go people immediately pick up on it. And I tried to hide it, but apparently I haven’t done a very good job. So I figured you must know and were just being nice enough not to say anything about it. Besides, you never looked twice at me. What was I supposed to think?”
“Are you kidding? You’re the only one I ever looked at.”
“Tell that to all the girls you’ve been with,” I countered. “And look, I realize we weren’t together so you had the right to be with anyone you wanted. But don’t tell me you only had eyes for me.”
“It’s true,” he argued. I scoffed and he clenched his jaw. “The only reason I ever paid any attention to any of them is because I didn’t think I could have you, the one person I really wanted. And I seem to recall you going on a few dates yourself,” he answered.
“You might also remember that I only went on dates when friends set me up. I usually wasn’t thrilled about it and it never went past the first date. And that’s not even the point.”
“Then what is?”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked. “You knew for a year and a half longer than I did. Why didn’t you say something?” Dean sighed.
“You know, when we were growing up, everywhere we went people knew how I felt about you. At every school the guys would tell me how whipped I was and the girls were always asking if we were dating. It shocked me how I was apparently so obvious and yet you could still be so clueless about it. I mean, you know me better than anyone. How could you of all people not see it? Even now you look surprised to hear it.”
I realized that while I was listening to Dean talk, my eyebrows had wrinkled together.
“Yeah, well. You were protective I guess. But that’s just who you are. It doesn’t mean anything.”
“I know you think so,” Dean said. “But everyone else saw it for what it really meant.”
“This doesn’t really answer why-”
“Because,” he interrupted. “I’ve always known I’m not good enough for you, and I didn’t want you to feel obligated to be with me because of the soulmate thing. And when you turned 16 and never said anything to me… I figured you just weren’t interested.”
“Wow,” I said. “I don’t even know where to start. Uh…” I said, sorting through all the things I wanted to say to pick the most important. “Ok. So what you’re telling me is you knew we were soulmates the whole time?”
“Yeah. Do you know how rare it is for soulmates not to match up? Honestly, I kind of think it’s impossible. I think when that happens it’s just people falling in love with someone with the right name, but it’s the wrong person. It never even crossed my mind that your soulmate could be someone else,” he said.
“Then why did you seem so shocked when you saw my tattoo?” I asked pointedly.
“Oh, right,” Dean said, reminded of how this whole conversation had started. He grabbed the discarded med kit and gestured for me to lift my shirt.
“Dean.” I wasn’t in the mood for him to try avoiding things. We needed to talk about this.
“I’m not ignoring you. I really need to get you fixed up.” I looked at him doubtfully. “I am capable of talking at the same time,” he said.
I looked at him for a few more seconds, weighing the honesty behind the words. I decided he was just as eager to have this discussion as I was. I walked over to stand beside where he was sitting on the bed and lifted my shirt for him.
“So?” I asked. “Why did you seem surprised?”
Dean gently rubbed his thumb over the letters of his name, his eyes soft and a small smile on his lips. I shivered at the contact. Then he got to work on cleaning and stitching my side.
“I wasn’t surprised, exactly,” he told me as he worked. “Although I suppose it was a bit of a shock, seeing it for the first time. Knowing in your mind that something must be true and actually seeing it are two different things.”
“Yeah, I guess,” I agreed, wincing at the first poke of the needle. At least this conversation was as good of a distraction as I could ask for.
“And I just figured if we’ve gone this long without ever seeing or talking about our tattoos, you letting me see it now must mean something.”
“It’s kind of hard to hide it right now,” I pointed out.
“You could’ve kept it hidden if you wanted to. It really wouldn’t have been difficult. Which is why I knew you wanted me to see it. And I know you well enough to know you wouldn’t want me to see it if you weren’t interested.”
I asked my next question. “You honestly thought I wasn’t interested in you?”
“After you turned 16 you never treated me any different,” he shrugged. “I figured there must be a reason for that.”
“There was,” I told him through gritted teeth. I really hated getting stitches. “It was because I was already so in love with you that finding out you were my soulmate didn’t really change things for me.”
He paused his work and looked up at me.
“You’re serious,” he said. “Really? That long?”
“Is that so hard to believe?” I smiled.
He looked away and continued stitching. He was almost done now.
“Why show me now?” He asked.
“Honestly? I was still nervous about it. If I was right about you having a different soulmate, I didn’t want things to be weird between us,” I told him.
“What changed your mind all of a sudden then?”
“What you said. About why you kissed me. It sounded so much like what I would have said if the situations were reversed that for the first time I let myself really consider the possibility that I was your soulmate too.”
I reached out with my right hand and threaded my fingers through his hair. I loved the feel of it. I loved how soft it was and that I was able to touch him like this.
“I don’t know when it happened. I don’t even know when I realized it. I just know I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t in love with you,” I told him. It felt kind of weird to admit it out loud, but also really nice. There was no point in hiding it now anyway. Might as well get it all out.
Dean finished with my side and I dropped my shirt as he stood up, forcing my other hand to fall from his hair. He was a full head taller than me and we were standing so close that I had to crane my neck to look at him.
“I guess that’s a good thing,” he said, putting a hand on my cheek. “It makes me feel better about the fact that I can’t remember ever not being in love with you.” Then he leaned down and kissed me.
This time I was a lot more prepared. This time I wasn’t so overwhelmed that I couldn’t even enjoy it. This time I felt everything. I felt how soft his lips were. I felt the way they moved with mine. I felt when his hand moved from my cheek to my neck and his other hand found its way to my back. I felt it when he leaned a little closer and deepened the kiss.
I lifted my arms up to wrap around his neck and winced at the slight pain it caused in my left side. I was fully prepared to ignore it, too caught up in the whole experience to care, but Dean noticed and immediately started to pull away.
“It’s fine,” I told him. I used my hands around his neck to keep him close and try to reconnect our lips.
“Jenna,” he warned gently. Our foreheads were pressed together and I could feel his warm breath brush over my face. “If you want me to keep kissing you, you’re going to have to keep that arm down.”
I just tried to catch his lips again.
“I’m serious,” he said. “You being in pain is a pretty big turn off.”
“You worry too much,” I huffed. But I obediently and dramatically removed my left arm from his neck. “Happy?”
“Smartass,” he said fondly. He slowly leaned in again. Very slowly. My heart raced in anticipation. Just before his lips touched mine, he pulled back.
“Dean,” I whined. He smiled and finally kissed me.
He moved the hand that had been around my neck to join the other at my back. I moved my left arm to his bicep, loving the strength I could feel there. We found a rhythm quickly, our mouths moving in sync. It was so easy to lose myself in him. In his kiss, in his touch, in the warmth of his body. I would gladly stay here forever.
The kiss was starting to get a little more heated, tongues brushing and Dean lightly nipping at my lower lip once, when his phone rang. He pulled back just the slightest bit, our lips nearly touching. He hesitated for a second, deciding whether or not to answer the phone I guessed. He gave me one last, quick kiss before letting go of me and pulling his phone out of his pocket. He flipped it open and briefly glanced at the screen before answering.
“Hey, Bobby,” he greeted.
Disappointed about the interruption and slightly out of breath, I sat on the bed, leaning against the wall and listening to Dean’s side of the conversation. He filled Bobby in on everything that had happened. Well. Not everything. But everything regarding finishing the case.
“Alright, Bobby. Yeah, we’ll stop by next time we’re headed your way,” Dean said before hanging up the phone. He sat beside me on the bed. “Well that was good timing,” he grumbled.
“You didn’t have to answer it,” I pointed out. I decided it was probably a good thing we’d been interrupted anyway. We still had a lot to talk about.
“What if someone was dying?” He asked, half joking, half serious.
“Then they should have called an ambulance. You’re not exactly a doctor,” I said.
“Hey, I managed to stitch you up just fine.”
“That wasn’t life or death. You’re good for patching up, but you can’t do everything, Superman.”
“Next time I’ll just let it ring, then.” He held his arm up for me. I accepted the invitation and leaned into his side. His arm settled around me and I let out a content sigh.
“You know it’s been almost a decade since the last time we did this,” I said.
“Did what?” Dean was resting his chin on top of my head. My ear was pressed against his chest and I could feel its slight vibration when he spoke.
“Sat together like this.” I thought back to those days I’d been sick and how much I’d enjoyed being so close to him. Then I remembered what he said about that time during the dumb favorite memory game. “Did you mean what you said? At the hotel?” I turned my face up to look at him.
“Which part?” He asked, looking back at me. I gently elbowed him in the side. He knew what I was asking about.
“Ow!” He protested despite the fact that I definitely hadn’t hurt him. I gave him a look and he chuckled.
“I meant it. I think about it a lot. How good it felt to be able to hold you like that. Like this,” he said, briefly squeezing his arm tighter around me for emphasis. “How right it felt to have you in my arms. It’s the best thing I’ve ever felt. Well,” he smiled mischievously, “it was. I’ve recently come to the conclusion that kissing you is even better.”
“I won’t disagree with that,” I grinned. My neck was getting tired from the angle I was turned at to see Dean, so I looked away and rested my head back against his chest. I reverted back to an old habit, absentmindedly twisting the bracelet on my wrist as I thought through everything.
“What are you thinking?” Dean asked.
“I’m having a hard time believing this is real. I’m kind of still wrapping my head around that first kiss. Not to mention everything else,” I admitted.
“You know, the way you froze up at the hotel when I kissed you… I thought I might have just made the biggest mistake of my life. I was worried you were pissed at me for crossing that line and that you might want to leave when we finished the hunt,” he told me.
“More like it happened so quickly and took me so much by surprise that my brain stopped working.”
“Freezing up isn’t really a quality you want in a hunting partner. Maybe I should ditch you,” he teased.
“Maybe you should,” I agreed. “But good luck explaining to Bobby how you left me in Idaho to fend for myself. With an injury.”
“Mm, good point. Guess that means I’m stuck with you.”
“Guess so,” I smiled.
We talked for a couple of hours. Up until our stomachs were grumbling and we couldn’t ignore the need for food anymore. We went out to eat and when we got back we curled up together again and stayed up well into the night, mostly talking, but trading a few kisses as well. When I fell asleep that night, I knew I could never be happier than I was at that moment. I finally had everything I’d ever wanted, and it was even better than I could have imagined.
~~~~~
A couple days later we drove out to Bobby’s house. We decided to make a trip out there to see him like Dean had promised before we started looking for a new case. We wanted a few days off to just enjoy our new relationship before we got back into things and we only planned to stay at Bobby’s for the day.
We made it to his house just after noon. The old hunter was happy to see us of course. He hugged us both and then invited us in.
“I’m afraid I don’t have much around for food. I’ve been meaning to make a run to the store,” he said apologetically.
“No problem,” I said, holding up a grocery bag. “We came prepared.”
Bobby wasn’t exactly known for having a well stocked fridge. We knew it was possible he wouldn’t have much around, and we didn’t want to drop in without warning and just expect him to feed us.
“Of course you did. I guess I should expect that from you by now, shouldn’t I?” Bobby said to me.
“C’mon Bobby,” I teased as I headed for the kitchen. “You live in the midwest. You know you can’t just show up to someone’s house at meal time without bringing food.”
“Well, c’mon now,” Bobby said, shooing me out of the way. “You’re the guest and you brought the food. The least I can do is get it ready.”
He unpacked the buns, hamburger, sloppy joe sauce, macaroni salad, and potato chips we’d stopped to buy on our way into town. The three of us chatted while Bobby made the hamburger, just catching up on things since the last time we saw each other.
Over lunch Dean and I told Bobby about some of the more interesting cases we’d been on recently. Bobby told us about the research he was doing for another hunter and about how some guy named Rufus was harassing him to help him on a hunt.
We finished lunch and were heading out to the porch to enjoy some beers when Bobby’s phone rang.
“You two go on and I’ll join you when I’m done,” Bobby instructed.
Dean carried the cooler out and I opened the screen door for him. Bobby had left the main door open to let in some fresh air. It was a beautiful day. The temperature was sitting in the mid 60s, the sun was shining and there was nothing more than a light breeze occasionally drifting through the air.
Dean and I sat together on the rickety old porch swing, leaving the chair for Bobby. Dean put his arm around my shoulder and I leaned into his side, enjoying the weather and the gentle rocking of the swing.
“Do you remember the summer our dads dropped us off here for a month?” Dean asked after a couple minutes of peaceful quiet.
“Yeah. Sam was obsessed with magic and spent most of his time trying to learn new tricks,” I recalled. “And you basically spent the whole month elbows deep in whatever car you could get your hands on.”
“And you,” he said accusingly, “did not make it easy for me to concentrate.”
“What?” I asked, pulling away from his side so I could look at him. “What did I do?”
“Nothing in particular. You didn’t have to. It was just the way you would sit close by and watch me work while you sang along to the radio. Or I’d look up and see you sitting right here,” he said, patting the swing, “reading a book. It didn’t matter what you were doing. I just remember thinking how beautiful and distracting you were.”
I blushed a little at the words and wondered how long it would take for that to stop.
“And all I really wanted to do,” he said, pressing his forehead to mine. “Was this.”
He leaned in and caught my lips in a sweet kiss. I smiled into it.
“Well it’s about damn time,” Bobby drawled from the doorway. Dean and I jerked apart, startled by his sudden appearance. “A man could grow old and die waiting for you two idjits to get it together,” he said as he opened the screen door and stepped outside. His voice was as gruff as usual, but there was a twinkle in his eye and a small smile on his mouth.
“Wait, you knew?” I asked. My heart was still racing.
“‘Course I did. I don’t think there’s anybody that’s seen the two of you together and doesn’t know.”
I wanted to object, but then I thought back on all the times people had picked up on my feelings for Dean. And how he had apparently experienced the same thing.
“So I guess we were just the last ones to know,” Dean said a little frustratedly.
“Looks like it,” Bobby smiled. “Congratulations you two. I’m happy for you,” he said.
“Thanks Bobby,” I answered.
He reached into the cooler and pulled out three beers, popping the caps off and handing us each one.
“Here’s to the happy couple,” Bobby said, clinking his bottle against both of ours.
I smiled and took a sip along with the two men.
Here’s to a long and happy life with the man I’m lucky enough to call my soulmate, I thought.
