I wonder what was the thought process behind making Zazie the Beast represent themselves as a darker skinned individual wearing something evoking kinda native american (or culturally any other colorful “non civilized”) clothing...And how they arent even a parasyte puppeting around a human body, n are more like a projection over a bunch of alien crane flies in a trench coat. Like... I get that the people making the show wanted to make it extra obvious that Zazie is indigenous to the planet, but cmmon.. where would the worms get culture like that from. Why would a worm wear beads and a feather insect wing in its hair, why the decorated loincloth? Just because it looks cool? I GUESSSsss....

if i had a nickel for every time two "men" clearly gay for each other admitted their feelings and/or kissed and then were bitterly seperated, i'd have two nickels, which is not a lot but it's weird that it happened twice...

Kamen Rider Amazons 'Amazons need protein so they eat humans' 🤝 [yellow handshake emoji] Demon Slayer 'demons needs a lot of nutrition so they eat humans'
me: a cow or pig would give them more bang for their buck every time, come up with something better for why yer monsters eat people

Othello is ultimately just the origin story of the miscommunication trope.
I said what I said.

Also you know the Lumity isn’t going to break up because it’s a shows key element. Should be enough to tell people the entire show wasn’t a dream.
And yet here we are
With part of the fandom still thinking a key element is going to get destroyed in the finale

So maybe it's because I don't like MerDer that much. Or maybe it's because I'm not crazy about Meredith. Or maybe it's because I have a deep passionate hatred for Derek.
Or maybe I'm just tired of shows using infertility as a temporary bump in the road that vanishes as soon as that storyline is no longer interesting.

I wanted your thoughts on something the Fandom likes to portray when it comes to Anakin, because I love your In depth analysises of him.
Often times fanon acts like he's an idiot that people put up with because they have to. They make him a bumbling lazy fool who doesn't know his left from his right, and make it seem like his men just see him as a laughing stock while Obi-Wan is the "actual" jedi. They also make it so that he's a terrible teacher to Ahsoka and she has to learn everything from Obi-Wan. The fact that Anakin is a mechanical genius is always overlooked and ignored. (I also never appreciated how Tcw acted like he was an incompetent pilot when he was in an active war zone) This has always bothered me as I see Anakin as Adhd-Coded and as a person with Adhd I have experienced those kinds of stigmas.
Yeah this has always bothered me. Anakin is kind and sweet, not to mention incredibly talented and smart. He’s a general for crying out loud. He fixes things no one else can. He does things with the force no one else can. He isn’t a HIMBO or just something to thirst over. Anakin is definitely ADHD coded and I have written posts about that. He is described as fidgety, like he can’t sit still, like he has either hyper focus or no focus. He is said to be nervous with impatience and he arguably has special interests with droids and fixing things as a hobby. I hate the idea that Anakin is someone his friends barely put up with and not someone valued for the great person he is.

i’m genuinely never gonna get over the fact that the CW killed off two of their main characters brutally because they were a popular gay ship and let the perceived hetero one have a nice long life with a child and a wife. what was the reason

Delicate
Marinette looked up at Tim with a brave look on her face, she had to do this. If she didn’t do it now then she’d completely lose her nerve. This couldn’t go on for much longer, she couldn’t take it anymore. “I can’t do this anymore. I deserve better than this, than you and the constant pain you cause me.”
“Maybe you deserved better,” Tim replied bitterly, venom filling his voice more and more with every single word that left his mouth. “But so do I and you hurt me too, don’t forget that when you get up all on your high horse. This is just as much of your fault as it is mine.”
What like it was her fault that she had to keep up with her duties of being a superhero in Paris? Sure she had to leave him at random times of the day with stupid excuses but Paris came first. If he knew what she was actually doing then he’d surely understand, but she couldn’t put the kwami at risk like that.
And it wasn’t like he was any better, he did the same. He left at random times, especially during the night, and gave horrendous excuses; whenever she tried to question him about it she got no answer. Could he really blame her if she felt hurt and abandoned by it?
“All you ever did was hurt me, push me away, ignore me. I don’t see how you deserve better,” she spat violently at him. Quite frankly, imagining each word as an individual dagger that stabbed him in the heart might have been the most pleasure he’d ever given her. It was deliciously spine-tingling.
Tim raised his eyebrows judgmentally, “Maybe that’s because you were too stuck up in yourself to notice me.” She was not! It was all him. He was the stuck up rich kid who thought he could get away with anything, he was the one who constantly abandoned her, he was the cause of their relationship failing. It was all him.
Marinette looked at him with disgust as she ground her teeth together. As much as she fought it, tears formed in her eyes as she spoke, “I tried so hard, for nothing, for you to try and turn this around on me now. You barely spoke to me. I spent nights on end in our room sobbing alone because of your actions
“Then I guess this is settled then. We’re breaking up,” he stated in a monotone voice.
“I guess it is,” Marinette said with a triumphant tone to her words as she left the room.
It was only later that day that she realised just what she’d done. She’d broken up with Tim, who had given her everything when they’d first started dating. Why couldn’t she have talked to him like an adult? God. She’d messed everything up because she wasn’t mature enough to talk to her boyfriend like an adult.
She’d fucked up.

Bad trope: person a doing something they would never do to person b because an outside source said to and that there "will be consequences if you tell them it was me"
Good trope: communicating with your partners

I ❤️ self-loathing characters, characters who struggle with monstrosity (either fearing or embracing it), characters who are so lonely, who have a gaping hole in their chest, who bottle up & repress their feelings, who claw their way up & have ambitions, who fall down & lose everything, who search for identity & purpose yet can’t see themselves outside of what others want from or expect of them, who are hurt & hurt others, who long & grieve, who lie & pretend. characters who are messy & flawed & human

I'm really tired of the "woman sad about her arranged marriage" trope, especially if that woman is royalty.
I am sure that many women across time were sad about their arranged marriages, but I'm sure a lot of others were excited, ambivalent, or resigned. Again, especially if you were royalty! I am sure if you were born a princess, you were trained from birth that your whole purpose in life was to marry someone important to solidify the power of the person on the throne. And honestly, it's an important job, if it wasn't, they wouldn't have tried so hard to do it.
That woman isn't just marrying another king or prince, she's going to be an ambassador of her country. She's supposed to be there promoting good relations. She isn't just a woman being sold off, she has a job! Also, if she is marrying the reigning monarch (or the heir), she may well end up running the country if the king is off at war or he dies when the heir is really young. That happened a lot throughout history! (or maybe she marries the third son and helps him find his way to the throne. Good for her)
It just feels like a modern sentiment being projected back. In Romeo and Juliet, when Juliet's mother first brings up marrying her to Paris, Juliet's basically cool with it and says she'll try to like him. She would have known this was going to happen because that is what rich women do, they marry into another family so their two families can be buddies. What else would she even be expecting?
It wouldn't bother me so much except that it's all we see! Give me a story about a woman who is like, "Cool, I shall give it my all!" Or she's like rolling up her sleeves and planning how she's going to get the court on her side and rule France, power behind the throne style (these women are mostly portrayed as villains, but who is to say the king would do a better job?). And also, have a little faith in women's fathers? You think men in the past didn't occasionally consider the happiness of their daughters? Not even a little bit?
