Hey! Looks like the Annons are back at it again😓. It sucks that you keep having to deal with this nonsene. If I’m allowed to be honest; I too don’t really like this whole Eda x Stan thing (especially when our lord and savior Raine Rizzpers is right there), but I just ignore it in favor of your Raeda goodness. Hope you are doing ok☺️. Keep being an awesome artist.

I'm not dumb, I'm aware that there's an entire genre of art that depicts Luz falling in love with some male character (wether it's Hunter, Edric, Marco from Star vs of all people, or some OC) while Amity cries or kills herself (this is not an exaggeration) in the background, usually with a sexual undertone (or overtone) to it.

I know their intentions are being homophobic. I've made my distain for those shippers known. That kind of homophobic "art" was never my intention.

The Stan x Eda stuff has always been a joke to me. A joke about how desirable Eda and Raine are.

Eda being so desirable that she robbed a man and to this day he's still madly in love with her, and out of the many women he's been with, Eda's "the one that got away".

And Raine being so desirable that the woman who could con any man into loving her is helplessly in love with them and only them. There's irony that Eda's experiencing the heartbreak she caused to someone else to feel.

If anything Stan's the butt of the joke when I post stuff like this

Before Raine I did kinda liked the idea of Stan x Eda because both creators were dating at the time and I thought it was a fun way to connect both shows.

Especially when at the time (and still to this day) people were claiming Owl House was a ripoff of Gravity Falls just because Eda is similar to Stan.

What's funnier than said "ripoff" canonly being married to the character she "copied"?

Plus the creators themselves don't take it too seriously. There was a Owl House and Amphibia crossover that the creators and voice actors did. In it Eda was flirting with HOP POP to steal his wallet. And Dana found it HILARIOUS because it was a joke.

Meanwhile at a Owl House panel this year Alex Hirsch randomly had voice acted Stan processing his love to Eda. (Which I did an animatic of).

And not only was everyone laughing because it was a joke. RAINE'S voice actor put their hand over their heart as if to act heart broken.

None of this was with bad intention.

In this scenario Lyke would succeed in getting the heart of the Motherbeast in Episode 47 and while Alaway would notice & probably still call out to Aterika’Kaal the way he presumably did in canon, Lyke would be there and get to make a compelling case to Aterika’Kaal the likes of „If you stay with me I am going to feed you. I’ve taken care of you until now, I’ll keep doing that“ (argument supported by the fact he’s currently holding the heart of an incredibly powerful dead god). Aterika’kaal agrees and they barely escape through the Sanctum of the Stone Chorus portal. I think it's fun if Lyke then stays there after the hour described in the move is over, maybe knowing he can't convince Pickman & the others that what he's done is actually good, and fine, there's not even anything to worry about he has this totally handled, But yeah he then sets out from whereever in Sangfielle Aterika'Kaals domain is (Austin did say it was an actual place somewhere), and the rest of the Blackwick Group is left to wonder what the hell happened since Lyke just vanished! Alaway has possibly fucked off too after losing the heart. And them getting fired, the Carnival of Moted Light etc. would still happen (and I guess Chine would succeed at what they were doing since Lyke isn’t there?) and who knows if they’d take any action in finding Lyke after that! All that aside though, Lyke basically offers himself to feed on (through blood and/or energy) and to sustain that he keeps consuming(not literally eating) powerful objects/artifacts/resources and possibly eventually living things (I’d imagine he'd still take work as a „please deal with this weird shit for us“ person and when he has to kill a cursed beast or whatnot... might aswell feed Aterika'Kaal?) (What also plays into that decision, and is part of Lyke justifying this to himself, is that without him, Aterika’Kaal would become too powerful. So he aims to function as kind of a conduit & control the power intake so to speak. I think this probably doesn’t work for very long.) I think this eventually goes bad for him because it’s super taxing on his body and the whole deal kind of flips with Aterika’Kaal feeding/keeping HIM alive. He starts finding bodies in the domain again (alternatively, Aterika'Kaal gets better at hiding them because it knows Lyke doesn't particulary like it when it does that). Lyke probably gets stronger due to this power/magic wise, but also way more fragile (he's constantly anemic!). („I love you. I want us both to eat well.“ - Christopher Citro) („When I write of hunger I am really writing about love and the hunger for it, and warmth and the love of it and it is all one.“ M.K. Fisher) Notes: I put some resources Lyke’s canonically had in-game + some extra stuff in this picture (the arrow is a reference to Marn’s epilogue, the bugs are bugs (with possibly sinister connotations. If you want them to have those, it’s optional) and the fur is from the Ravening Beast). Another detail I came up with I might aswell tell you because otherwise noone might ever know: the ring with the blue stone is a gift from Es. Sketch Notes: 1. Lyke turning his head to kiss a rose / exposing his neck was one of my very first ideas/sketches I made while working on this, and I liked it too much to not include it. 2. This is supposed to be Aterika'Kaal giving Lyke a blood transfusion but it rather looks like it's feeding on him instead...! I like how the relaxed pose turned out. 3. I wanted to draw something smaller in a simpler style to fill the big canvas I was drawing these on (even though now I put them in separate files anyways...). The day I drew this I saw a tweet about a medieval monks sketchbook, so I was still thinking about that. I didn't even plan to color it originally but I ended up getting invested, haha

To be clear about the Hobie age situation:

I head-canon him as 18-20. I have reasons for why I think that if people are interested. I do not care what you head-canon/see him as. I will never force my own head-canons on another person, nor will I expect someone else to agree with them. The people getting so up in arms about the whole situation ON BOTH SIDES are being WEIRD.

This does mean I do not ship him with Pavitr( chaipunk / punkchai ), Gwen( ghostpunk / HobieGwen ), and Miles( punkflower / HobieMiles ) because two of those characters have in movie confirmed ages of 15 and 16, and then I head-canon Pav to be the same age as Gwen. The age difference is too weird and gross for me because of the way I SEE THEM. That does not mean those ships are proshipping or whatever it’s called. It would be proshipping if you HC Hobie as 20 and he’s dating a 15 year old, but that is CLEARLY not what’s happening here. More power to the people who see Hobie as younger and ship him with the above ships and make amazing works for it! But personally, I love him in the older brother role!

With that said, and I wanna be exponentially clear on this part: it isn’t a micro-aggression to think he’s 19/20, it isn’t deaging/infantilizing to thinks he’s 16/17, and it isn’t homophobic to not ship a ship because you view the character as a different age, making the ship weird for you. What is a micro-aggression or straight up racist are the people(ngl haven’t seen A LOT of this but I’ve still SEEN it) who think Hobie is 26/30+. If that is your view on him maybe examine why you thought that originally and your own biases towards young black men and then reevaluate. What is homophobic, and potentially also racist, is not holding the above talked about ships to the same standards, again not something I’ve really seen but people talk about it like it happens so I’m going to assume it does.

Bottom line: Unless they specifically say(or give just an undeniable hint at it) in the next movie, Hobie’s age should be and is up to interpretation. There is no reason to send hate because of a 5 year variability in a character’s age.

hey uh sorry for disappearing yet again for a couple months. don't have much of an excuse, though things have been more stressful than usual, offline life having involved family and hospitals and stuff, but not gonna go into any details, things are better now either way so ye. my way of coping with things have been mostly to just play games (ffxiv mainly, leveling alts and other grinding can be a good distraction sometimes) and nothing else to keep my mind off things, so haven't been able to focus enough to do much of any art at all. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things, I am back on my meds that I skipped out on for like a year due to various reasons, but they seem to be helping again so yeah, fingers crossed that things will work out and such ha
