Hi Alondra!! Thank you for replying back to me on the New Year's fanart!! there's really no pressure replying and I truly appreciate every response 🥹❤️ hearing that you still love the New Year's fanart makes me so happy!! (I promise there is more fanart for NC in the near future!!) I’m glad you took some time off social media for your mental health because that’s very important!! I’ve been quite busy lately too so I’ve been off social media more than usual this past week. I’m also happy that you’ve been sticking to drawing daily for 30 minutes!, and even if you miss a day here and there it’s still great! There are days where I just don’t have the energy to draw, so if you need to take breaks from that too it’s okay! But I really do get excited hearing these updates! Also, omg I’m very happy that you drew Miguel in a way that you liked and you’re feeling more comfortable and confident with drawing!!! Hearing that makes me so excited and i’m rooting for you!!! ❤️
Also, I just have to mention again that I’m really happy you took a little break from social media and writing, sometimes it can be too much and the last thing I’d want is for you to be burnt out from everything! (and I'm happy my little words of encouragement helped you decide to take some days off, I want to make sure you're doing okay too 🥺) you really do so much on here and you deserve the rest! ❤️❤️ Thank you so much for all the support and words of encouragement with my schooling!! (and when you mentioned getting another degree in the future- I might actually consider it!! maybe even study in a subject more for fun!) I’ve been very busy with everything and preparing for the first presentation of my capstone this Monday (the nerves are there but I'll maybe update you on how that goes! 😭) but one thing’s for sure- I still love to take the time to go on here and talk to you when I can!! And I’m so excited to read the next part when it comes out!! (please don’t stress about when you’re going to post it though 🥺) And I also promise that I read all your responses too, often times more than once because they make my day!! They mean so much to me and you don’t have to worry about replying late or anything, I understand! the weather where I live has also been arctic, haha!! (no fr today when I went out I was still shivering with all my layers 😭) and if it's also still cold where you are stay safe and warm too!! I hope you’re doing well and that you’re having an amazing week Alondra!! sending you a warm virtual hug, friend!!! ❤️✨❤️
Here are some little sketches of encouragement with your writing and everything!! a soft smiling Miguel and ok I imagine the 2nd one Miguel is giving look of like he’s proud of you 🥺 but also, he just has that signature smirk too 🤭
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@sunsetdoodler thank you for being so understanding and of course, I love talking with you, so I've been trying to reply to everything!! I just got really behind on my responses 😭 but yes, I LOVE the New Year's fanart!!!
Still thinking about it and how cute your OC and Miguel look together, I can't wait to see them again (and omg, more fanart!!! I can't wait to see it but of course, take your time!!!)!! And you being off social media is so understandable with your school!! I hope everything is going well so far!! I'm thinking about you and sending you the best of luck, and hoping everything goes smoothly for you as always!!!! ❤️ Also, thank you for the well wishes on my drawing journey!! I took off yesterday and today because I've been busy doing other things but I'll hopefully be back to it tomorrow, thank you, really!! And yes omg, I've been studying Miguel (I've been studying your fanart and other lovely artists' fanart plus using the amazing drawing references I've seen on here; that's actually how I finally got his hair down haha), and feel like I'm moving forward in drawing him, but it's a working process! 😂
And thank you, omg!!!!! 🥺🥺 I was debating taking a break because I always feel so guilty disappearing from social media even if it's just a day or two, but your words of encouragement to take it easy helped and I decided to do it. I tend to feel a little off after the holidays and just feel overwhelmed by everything, so this little break really helped my mental health, and honestly - it helped my writing! I was lowkey forcing myself to write prior to it, but all is well now, and I feel great now. I've done so much more writing in two days than I did over the span of several days prior to my break, so yay!! About your schooling - of course!!!!! I'm wishing you the best and rooting for you!!! As I said already, I'm always hoping and wishing that everything goes smoothly for you!!! I hope you're taking care of yourself and that these first two weeks have been kind to you so far!!! You should def consider earning another degree for fun if you're interested!! I'd love to hear what you'd like to do if you were to get another one (if you're open to sharing, if not, I understand, so no pressure!!)!! Omg, your first capstone presentation is this Monday!! I'm sending you, and will continue to send you, all the best of luck!!! I know you got this and it'll go great!!!!!! 🥺✨ It'll be one presentation down, and hopefully it will get easier as the semester goes!!!! And thank you for taking time out of your day to come on here and talk to me, it truly means so much to me!!! Please know that I understand life gets crazy, so I totally understand if you can't reply right away or not at all (don't feel pressured to, friend!! I get it!!)!! And I'm happy that my words make your day, yours make my day as well!! I always look forward to reading your responses/asks!!!❤️ And omg @sunsetdoodler I hope you're staying warm and cozy, too!! It has been very cold this week for us (there was even a busted pipe this morning because of how cold it has been this whole week). I hope you stay warm and be safe if you're out on the road driving!!! I hope you're having a fantastic week, too and that you have a great weekend!! Hopefully you get to do some fun cozy things and relax a bit despite your presentation!!! Sending you the warmest virtual hug and the best wishes as always, friend!!!! ❤️✨❤️
And OMG THE SKETCHES!!!! Miguel saying "you got this!" - that's so ENCOURAGING!!! 🥺 And his proud face in the second sketch - stop, now I'm going to imagine that Miguel cheers me on when I write and try to draw him and the second sketch is him watching me while I do my thing,😭😭 THANK YOU, FRIEND!!!! These sketches are so freaking CUTE!!!!! And his signature smirk - everything this man does gets me, I swear!!!! 🤭 (I'd get so distracted if I saw him like this actually) I'm going to have these sketches pulled up whenever I write or draw, for real!!! THANK YOU!!!! ❤️✨🥺

Lino and the "friends? Why are you looking at me like that?" prompt, where he asks reader what they are, and is finally frustrated (and whipped) enough to come clean about his feelings, after some time in their fwb/situationship, or wtv they had going on
Like some angsty (or maybe funny?) thing, with a happy ending obviously, it's all up to you if it's something you're interested in writing :)
Love your works, hope you're doing great love!!
"What are we?"
"Friends?" you answered in a heartbeat.
And maybe your answer had come just a little too fast for his liking; like you were too fucking sure of the fact that the two of you were just friends.
Not even the way your head had tilted as you spoke, or how your tone had come out as more of a questioning one, was enough to convince him you were not entirely sure of your answer either.
Minho remained silent, staring at you intensely enough to let you know with his eyes alone that he was not pleased at all.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" you asked, voice almost like a whisper.
He shrugged, taking his eyes off you and focusing on the door instead — the locked doorknob only seeming oh-so-ironic by then.
"Minho?" you pushed it, following his eyes and growing nervous at the sight of the cynical smile curving up his mouth.
"It's just funny, I guess" he finally replied, eyes fixing back on you. "I'm pretty sure friends don't lock themselves in the bathroom just so they can make out while all their friends are downstairs. I guess I got it all wrong".
"Stop it," you mumbled, grabbing his wrist when he tried to reach for the doorknob. "Are you really mad right now?"
"Should I not?" he raised a questioning eyebrow.
"I don't know, I..." you took a deep breath, not understanding how it all went wrong so fast. "I thought this is what you wanted? We were good like this? No strings attached?"
"Maybe at first, but things have changed now" he stated, looking into your eyes for some kind of confirmation. "Am I really the only one who feels that everything's changed between us?"
He wasn't. So, you let him know by lowering your head.
It had all started with a drunken kiss that later turned into more, but neither of you were stupid enough not to realise that the alcohol intoxicating your systems had only given you the little push you needed to do what you both had wanted to for a good while by then.
So, the next time it happened, neither of you needed to use alcohol as an excuse. And after that it just kept happening — over and over, like it was the most natural of things between you two.
You had never sat down to discuss the grounds of whatever this new dynamic of yours was. You were just friends who enjoyed the intimacy of each other's bodies, and you were okay with it so far. Your friendship didn't have to change because of it.
But it did.
Before you could even tell, it did; and you both were left feeling like the kisses you shared and the touches that made you come undone in a matter of minutes, meant something deeper than just two friends having fun together.
It was unspoken, but there had been a switch in your relationship; and although neither of you had been brave enough to bring it up —until now—, you both had welcomed it with open arms.
"Are we really just friends?" He asked.
You laughed under your breath, weakly. Still too stunned by the sudden question.
"What's so funny?" He frowned.
"Nothing," you shook your head, looking up to meet his eyes. "I just, never thought you'd care about labels".
"Well, obviously I'd care when Chan is trying to set you up with one of his friends".
That's when it hit you, why he had dragged you upstairs only a couple of minutes after the whole 'dating' topic was discussed — crashing his mouth against yours the moment the door was closed and cornering you against the sink, where he would later sit you down on.
Most importantly, however, it hit you why the question that was looking to define your relationship had so smoothly ran past his lips.
Smiling, you took a hold of his wrists, pulling him closer and placing them on your waist, before your arms snaked around his neck.
"So this is just you wanting to have some kind of claim on me?"
"I wouldn't call it a claim on you," he disagreed, softly caressing your sides with his thumbs out of utter habit. "Just, don't want you to go out with other people".
"Just say you fell for me and go" you smirked.
"Shut up..." he sighed, gently letting his forehead rest on yours. "But you're mine, though".
You could hardly hold back a squeal at the sound of those words abandoning his mouth, but you somehow managed to by biting your lip and shaking your head in defeat as a wide smile tried to break through. "Didn't you just answer your own question now?"
"Nope, I just said you're mine" he pulled you closer, tightening his hold on your waist. "Still don't know what we are".
You sighed, lovingly this time. It almost felt like a dream, where you got what you had wanted all along. Almost too surreal to believe this was reality.
"All of this because Channie vaguely mentioned setting me up with one of his mates?" You couldn't help but incredulously let out.
"Yes, now give me a proper answer".
"Why don't you take me out on a date first?" you proposed. "You know, like, a proper boyfriend and girlfriend date?"
You could see the way he beamed at the mention of said labels; he did not try to hide it at all. "And then I'll have my answer?"
You smiled, tenderly brushing your lips against his. "And then you'll have your answer".
Laughing under his breath as his hands cupped your face and his thumb traced your bottom lip, he whispered a small 'okay' before he closed the gap between your mouths.
Just like that, closing the deal.
"And you better not hit me with the friends bullshit again, becau—"
You shut him up with another kiss. One that would last longer, and that was enough for him to know you would never try to deny the obvious feelings between the two of you again.

PROTECTIVE PARENTS - KENAN YILDIZ
Kenan meets your protective parents
Kenan Yildiz only child! reader

︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿
Meeting the parents was a big step, and as we drove to my childhood home, I could sense Kenan's nervousness.
I glanced over at him, his usual confident demeanor replaced with a rare look of apprehension.
“Hey, don’t worry,” I said, trying to soothe him with a smile. “They’re going to love you. Just be yourself.”
Kenan nodded, taking a deep breath. “I just want them to see how much I care about you.”
“They will,” I assured him, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. “Let’s go.”
The drive felt longer than usual, my anticipation building with each passing mile. When we finally arrived, my mom opened the door with a warm smile, though I could see the curiosity and caution in her eyes.
My dad stood behind her, his expression neutral but assessing.
“Mom, Dad, this is Kenan,” I introduced, my voice filled with pride.
Kenan stepped forward, extending his hand. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Y/L/N.”
My dad shook his hand firmly, his protective nature clear in his scrutinizing gaze. “Nice to meet you, Kenan. Come on in.”
Inside, the atmosphere was a mix of warmth and tension. My mom offered tea and cookies, making small talk while my dad watched Kenan closely.
Kenan answered their questions politely, sharing stories about his upbringing, career, and how much he adored me.
“So, Kenan,” my dad began, his tone serious, “how did you two meet?”
Kenan glanced at me, smiling. “We met through mutual friends at a party. I was immediately drawn to Y/N’s kindness and intelligence. She’s truly special.”
My mom smiled softly at that, but my dad’s expression remained thoughtful. “What are your intentions with our daughter?”
I squeezed Kenan’s hand under the table, giving him silent encouragement. “My intentions are to support and love Y/N. I’m committed to her and our future together. I understand she’s your only child, and I want you to know that I will always treat her with the utmost respect and care.”
There was a pause, and then my dad’s stern expression softened just a bit. “That’s all we want for her,” he said quietly. “Her happiness and well-being mean everything to us.”
Kenan nodded earnestly. “I promise to do my best to ensure that.”
Dinner progressed more smoothly after that. My parents started to warm up to Kenan, appreciating his sincerity and the way he treated me.
My mom shared embarrassing childhood stories about me, and my dad even cracked a few jokes, easing the tension.
Later, as we all sat in the living room, my mom turned to Kenan with a gentle smile. “You know, Y/N is our world. We’ve always been protective of her, maybe a bit too much sometimes. But seeing how happy she is with you... it means a lot.”
Kenan smiled, looking at me with love in his eyes. “She’s my world too.”
When it was time to leave, my parents walked us to the door. My dad shook Kenan’s hand again, this time with genuine warmth. “Take care of her, Kenan.”
“I will, sir,” Kenan replied earnestly.
In the car, I looked at Kenan, my eyes shining with gratitude and love. “You did great,” I said softly. “They really like you.”
Kenan sighed in relief, a smile spreading across his face. “I’m glad. I just want them to know how much you mean to me.”
“They do,” I assured him, leaning over to kiss him. “And so do I.”
As we drove away, I felt a sense of peace. The evening had gone better than I had hoped, and I knew my parents had seen the same thing I saw in Kenan: a loving, dedicated partner who would always be there for me.

Comfort drabble (Charles Leclerc x university student! Reader)
N.B: this is a self indulging, short fic based on the news I had received today. WARNING: failing classes, crying, sobbing and not that well written fic. Charles could be a bit out of character i think? Not proof read.... it's just a hurt-comfort fic for my own sake tbh cause I just got my grades and I failed so yeah.... hope you like it
Entering his girlfriend's apartment, Charles called her name softly, hoping for a reply. Upon the silence he walked further into her home, reaching for her bedroom door.
Now he was aware that sometimes she just wants time to herself, he's aware that there comes moments where someone just doesn't have the energy to reply to someone. But this morning he felt knots in his stomach upon seeing no reply from her on his texts from the night before and when he called and received her voice mail he decided to go to hers.
The sight before him broke his heart, tear stained cheeks and puffy eyes were enough for someone to guess what y/n had been doing before falling asleep, but the trash can beside her bed on the floor and the box of tissues in her hold only confirmed that something is majorly wrong.
"Love."
With a low voice and soft tone, Charles slowly climed onto the bed beside her, moving her slowly till she was safely in his arms. With no response, he decided to investigate what was wrong.
Unlocking her phone Charles was met with her university's email inbox, scrolling down he finally saw what the issue was.
"Charles?" Her voice sounded hoarse and dry
"Hey love," locking her phone and tightening his hold on her "it's okay."
And with those four gentle words, Y/N felt her eyes burn with tears that quickly escaped onto her cheeks with sobs coming out of her tired throat.
"No, no," a tender hand in her hair "you're alright darling, you're alright."
"I'm sorry" her whimpers filled the room as she curled into herself
"It's okay my angle," soft lips on her forehead as the rough material of a tissue wipped her tears "take as much time as you want, I'm here"
An hour later, Y/N's cries had finally dies down to soft sobs and an occasional sniff with Charles' fingers massaging her scalp while the other hand holds her tightly to his chest.
"I know that words won't help and they won't make you feel any better, but I know how hard you have studied throughout the year, I saw you writing notes and listening over and over again to your lectures, I saw how you always explain things to your friends and you always send your notes to everyone," he whispered into her ear, kissing the crown on her head "failing 2 classes isn't the end of the world, it won't make you any less of a great person. I am not trying to make light of the situation or dismiss your feelings, but as a person who cares about you I am thanking the stars that you are alright, that you are safe and sound in my arms. And just as you had passes your other 8 classes this year, you will retake your finals and pass them as well. I know you will, cause you are you and no grade is going to define you.
I know it won't be easy to study everything again in the span of 2 months, but you can do it, I believe that you can cause I have seen what you constantly do everyday and someone who does half of what you do is always willing to try again and again," burying his face into her neck, his lips left a trail of butterfly kisses over her shoulder grounding her like a weighted blanked "I am so proud of you my darling, I always will be."
A warm hug, a kiss on the back of her hand and fingers running smoothly through her hair, YN felt safe and content surrounded by the warmth of her boyfriend. Maybe she had failed 2 of her 10 classes this year but she still had a second chance and she won't waste it.

So I've been trying out the new Star Wars Hunters game that came out on Mobile & Switch recently!
I haven't played many brawling type games like this so I wasn't expecting much, but I've actually been really enjoying it so far! I've probably put too many hours into playing (especially since I was super sick around launch and didn't have much else I could do), and I hit max level 50 and Kyber in ranked a while ago... (yeah, playing too much, I know...)
Thought I'd share my initial thoughts though, since I've put in the time!
Note: Some folks have apparently been playing the beta version for a while, but I've only started playing since the public release.
Stuff I like about it so far:
-The really creative and fun SW universe characters is the best part. A blind Miraluka sniper? (Diago) An Ugnaught driving a Droideka? (Slingshot) Literally two Jawas in a trench coat??? (Utooni) They're fun and have great personality, you can read their blurbs here. I like how they're all voiced and also all have their own theme songs (which are honestly heckin catchy)!
-Controls are very intuitive. Again, I am not much of a gamer and have very little experience with these kinds of games, but I picked it up quick. I play on my iPhone and it's great.
-The graphics are GORGEOUS. It looks beautiful, everything moves stunningly smoothly. Honestly it's hard to believe this is a ftp game.
-So far it's very much ftp friendly! Most of the money locked stuff are just cosmetics, and even then there are tons of free ones. One of the characters, Aran Tal, is currently behind a not-too-expensive paywall, but he'll apparently be available for free soon as well.
-The skins for the characters are fun and creative! Imara Vex has one that looks like Durge, and Zaina has one that kinda gives me adult Omega vibes. The store has an active rotation of skins that you can buy with either irl money or in game currency, and apparently old event skins eventually end up in the circulation too. Here are just a couple of my favorites:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-I love the locations! Each one is very Star Wars vibes and has lots of cool lil in-universe elements, like pod racers going through Mos Espa (they can run you over). The time period is New Republic era, so everything is relatively plausible for that time period in universe.
-There's a bunch of different game types, so you don't get bored, and they each have different challenges, and different characters who shine in them. It's unfortunately a bit addicting.
-The events aren't too grindy or tedious (so far).
-I really appreciate the different modes you can play on! The main two modes are casual and ranked, so it's possible to play low stakes and just level up your characters in casual, or try to challenge yourself more in ranked. I appreciate how the limited time events that sometimes throw you into random characters you might not be experienced with are never ranked, so it's okay to suck. Character leveling is the same in both casual and ranked. And I appreciate the Training mode too, where you can try out all of the characters so you're never in a "wtf does this do" in a PVP environment. I get so anxious during PVP if I don't know what I'm doing.
Stuff I hope they improve on:
-Playing with people + party invites are kind of a pain. The invites disappear really quickly, so it's really hard to time it so you can actually play with your friends. It's also hard to know whether the party is going to be playing ranked or casual, and if ranked you can't see the ranks of the folks in your party before agreeing to join, which is a little nerve wracking.
-This is less a complaint, and more just general frustration, but ranking up is pretty tedious near the top, which is to be expected I suppose. Through Aurodium, it was generous because you earn so many more points when you win than when you lose, but in Kyber, you win/lose the same amount. You are judged by your team score, so losses bring down everyone's rank, and it feels like you have to take three steps back for every one. Kyber players are comparatively more competent, but I've been in some...unfortunate matchups before. (As of writing this, I'm in Kyber III, but I've been bouncing between Beskar II~Kyber II for the past two weeks...will I ever make it to Kyber I cries)
-I think they started with a decent batch of characters, and I know this game just came out of beta and the team said they'll be expanding on them! So this isn't really a complaint either. But in the future, I hope they add more female characters (currently only 4 female characters out of 13 total, which feels a little skewed), as well as more support characters, who always feel lacking.
I'd love a few more "popular" iconic Star Wars species to have characters in support. Maybe a Togruta apothecary? A Nautolan water medic? A Pantoran doctor? And personally, I'd love a super buff Twi'lek lady as a tank! Either way, lots of possibilities to look forward to, especially given how much I love the characters so far!
So far, I've been playing on my iPhone and it works pretty smoothly, though I've heard of some Switch users having trouble with lagging/connecting. I think I've only been booted out once, and even when I'm forced to pop out of the app for a moment (last night, I got an Amber alert that paused my screen), I was able to continue playing with barely any pause, which is honesty impressive. I've heard controls are easier on Switch, but I think I've been doing okay on mobile.
Have you tried this game out??
Here's the launch trailer if you're interested, it's Pretty:
youtube
And a self plug!
Tumblr media
Feel free to add me, I'm Akaz!
I main Skora (Rodian support) and prefer to play her in ranked, but also have Aran Tal (Mando, he's my baby boi), Sentinel (Stormtrooper tank), and Diago (Miraluka sniper) also at max level. Working on leveling up the others in casual mode!
I'm very happy to play casual mode with anyone! (and I play casual mode a lot to level up my less-used characters, and recommend spending some time there for new folks before diving into ranked)
I'm also happy to play ranked!
(but be warned, you'll kinda want to know what you're doing, or they will slaughter you in Kyber)
I might type up a follow up review giving my thoughts on each individual character and maybe some general tips idk

YOU HELD YOUR PHONE TO YOUR EAR later in the evening, listening to your husband talk about his day. His voice was a comforting, familiar anchor, but tonight, it struggled to pull you from the storm raging in your mind the way it usually did.
"And then I told them they couldn't just ignore the data. They finally agreed to reassess the project," he was saying, his tone tinged with satisfaction. "That's how my day was."
"That's great," you replied absentmindedly, your fingers hovering over your phone's keyboard.
As he continued speaking, you opened a new message thread. The name "Aki Hayakawa" stared back at you, the cursor blinking in anticipation. You started typing slowly, uncertainly:
Aki, I'm sorry for running out on you like that. It wasn't |
You paused, backspaced, and tried again:
Captain Hayakawa, I apologize for how I acted tonight. It was unprofessional. |
No, that was too formal. You sighed, deleting the message once more.
"Are you still there?" your husband asked, snapping you out of your reverie.
"Yeah, I'm here," you said quickly. "Just... distracted. Sorry."
"What are you up to?" he asked, his tone lightening. "You sound busy."
"I'm just sending a text to my friend, Himeno," you lied smoothly, hoping the guilt didn't seep into your voice.
"You're so sweet," he said warmly. "Always thinking of others."
Always thinking of other men, apparently, you mean?
You forced a smile, even though he couldn't see it. "Yeah, I guess so."
Your thumb hovered over the screen again. This time, you typed:
Can we talk?
You hesitated for a moment, then pressed delete before you could change your mind. You had done enough damage tonight. The best thing you could do was just ignore him for the remainder of your stay in Tokyo. It would be over before you knew it.
"Anyway," your husband continued, oblivious to your internal struggle (as he typically was), "So my coworker came up to me and asked if I would go out for drinks with him tonight."
"Sounds great," you said automatically, your mind still on the message you had just deleted. You glanced out the window at the city rushing by – the midnight was blue, almost as blue as his eyes.
You hoped that, somehow, everything would make sense in the morning.
.
Your first informal mission took place at the art museum. There had been complaints of Devil-sightings there. It wasn't anything particularly alarming or dangerous, but you had been sent to check it out (and kill it).
With nothing but the quiet sound of your shoes clicking against the old wooden floorboards to accompany you, you made your rounds through the second floor. Your Public Safety uniform pulled very few strange looks here where everybody else was also done up in black-tie attire. There was an art showing tonight.
You put an 'x' over the words "Second floor". No Art-devil spotted there. Two more to go.
Stopping in front of a small painting, you took a moment to admire the artistry. You didn't mind doing the scut work while Makima was understaffed – more gruesome positions existed, surely. This was most certainly not the worst way you could think to spend your first day back on the job.
The painting was a masterful symphony of oil paints – shades of pink and green and blue forming the prettiest little petals. It depicted a serene field of wildflowers and nothing else. A singular tree near the right side of the painting, a clear blue sky on the top of it.
One day I'll buy a painting like that, you thought to yourself. Not that it had much of a place in your stale, modern-style home in the Japanese countryside. You always wanted a house with color – one with wooden seats and tables and wallpaper and a happy family – even if it aged poorly. There was something homely about flowers and colors. Something that the black-white-and-grey color scheme of your contemporary home lacked.
It was such a shame, too. You told your husband about these wishes long before you married him and, yet, he insisted upon having a home that would look "sleek" and "modern". Had it not been for his vision of what your home should look like, you would have taken the painting home with you.
Briefly, the image of a small, gold-framed painting of a flower field hung up in your cold, cool-toned dining room crossed your mind. It wouldn't work.
Then again, perhaps the painting could serve as a metaphor for your feelings?
You looked away from it, and went back to scanning the room for any sight of a Devil. You didn't find one.
What you did find, however, was the one person you didn't want to see today. A certain young captain stood with his arms crossed behind his back, inspecting a larger painting only a few yards away from you.
Then, as if the situation couldn't get any worse, he turned to look at you.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!
You ducked over, shielding your face from his gaze. It was too late, though – you heard his telltale footsteps coming your way and you knew he'd sniffed you out.
His voice was a sickening croon behind you, "Enjoying the show?"
Okay. It would appear that neither of you wanted to address the elephant in the room (being last night, that is).
You couldn't stop the little flutter your heart did when it heard his voice.
"Yes, thank you," You snapped back a little quicker than you anticipated. "The paintings are beautiful."
"They are, aren't they?" He reiterated. Something told you he wasn't only speaking about the paintings. "You like that one?"
"I do," You answered. This whole conversation was just a whole lot more awkward than you could bear today. "It's peaceful, I think. Pretty."
You shouldn't be talking to him. You really shouldn't be talking to him – not after whatever the fuck had happened between the two of you at the party.
To your surprise, Aki didn't toy with you any longer than that. He walked away – you had only heard him leave, after all, as you hadn't made any effort to look him in the eye. How could you? You had seen that face of his far too many times in your dreams.
"Keep up the good work," He said over his shoulder.
You turned to look only when you were certain he was a respectable distance away from you. Then, looking at the back of his Public Safety suit jacket, you thought, How bizarre.
.
You were making your rounds at the grocery store two days later, grabbing some last minute food and snacks because you truly hadn't anticipated your stay to be so long. A small slip of paper clutched in one hand and a pen in the other, you crossed "bread" off the list.
"Okay," You muttered to yourself, glancing around for your next stop. "Pads, produce, chips," Deciding that you couldn't live off of the tiny little hotel sample containers in your shower, you quickly scribbled down 'Shampoo/Conditioner'.
Then you continued on your merry little way, pushing the cart forward and exploring the rest of the grocery store. Aisle 14's sign was done in a shade of lilac, and read 'Feminine Hygiene, Baby, Sexual Wellness'. Oddly enough, you had to pass through the baby section before you could get to the feminine hygiene products. You tried not to make eye contact with any diaper boxes, as they only served to remind you of the fact that – despite being married – you were the only one out of all of your friends who hadn't settled down and started a family by now.
Soon, you thought. But, then, a vision of a screaming baby throwing up in your arms flashed through your mind, an image of your husband asking you what was for dinner after the both of you had come home from work, and it didn't feel so right.
"Let's see," you hummed, tracing your finger over a box of day pads. You figured that it wouldn't hurt to be prepared, even if you weren't supposed to get your period for at least another two weeks.
So you grabbed a multipack – day pads, liners, and night pads – and you tossed them into the cart. Then, you checked "pads" off of your list.
At the end of the aisle, there were walls and walls full of condom boxes – some were even flavored – and lubricants.
Won't be needing those any time soon, you mused. You and your husband hadn't exactly been very... active recently. With work and cleaning and everything else to be done around the house, neither of you had the energy.
Well, okay. You didn't have the energy. He had made a great many fruitless attempts. It was difficult to want to have sex with a man who acted like an insolent child when you told him that, yes, it was his house too, and he could do some dishes once in a while.
You were happy, though. You were just... going through a rough patch was all.
"I'm married!"
The words echoed in the back of your mind. You saw a vision of him there, too – not your husband – taking a tentative step towards you while you backed away from him.
"You weren't acting like it," The words replayed, clear as day, "I can't forget about tonight. I know you felt it, too."
You gazed blankly at the condom boxes on the shelves. He had been right. You weren't acting like a married woman, even now. Because when you thought of someone pressing kisses to your neck and slipping the clothes off of you, it wasn't your husband you envisioned. It was him.
You were fucked. Truly, royally fucked.
That being said, you walked right on past the wall of condoms. You were many things – a liar, Devil Hunter – but you would not break your marriage vows. It was your fault that you had been sucked into a wedding so early in your life. You had to see it through.
You had to do right by your husband.
The next aisle you hit up was the produce section in search of soup vegetables.
Some carrots would be nice, you thought. Oh, and some potatoes. Maybe even some angus beef?
You rolled up to the vegetables. They looked so tasty, all bundled together, being misted gently with water. You pulled a few carrots off the display and popped them into a plastic produce bag.
Leeks, you thought, pursing your lips and glancing around. They were two shelves over to your right.
And you'll never guess what else was only two shelves over, so tall he had to bend over to reach the legumes, sporting a loose black tee shirt and some black sweatpants.
Captain Hayakawa. Your stomach did a backflip and a death drop and your heart seemed to beat a little faster. What the fuck.
You could tell yourself whatever you wanted, but the way your body reacted to his presence gave your true feelings away. He had you wrapped around his finger.
Still, you hadn't seen him in casual clothes before. He looked much cuter that way, you thought. You could see his arms much more clearly now, the ridges and hills of his chiseled biceps, his strong forearms.
And he was buying groceries. Could he get any better?
You couldn't recall the last time your husband had even cooked some food, let alone go buy produce.
Maybe he was grocery shopping for someone else? Maybe he had a woman at home, to whom he was only bringing these groceries. It seemed far more likely that he had just come here to cook for himself.
What am I thinking? He was bad for you. Real bad. You had no business thinking these things about another man.
So, you did what any other respectable, married woman would have done and left the produce section before he could notice you. Before you could even begin to question whether or not this meeting was really pure coincidence.
You could always pick your veggies up somewhere else.
.
"Hello, front desk, how can I assist you?"
You sighed a breath of relief, "Hey. Do you think you could have room service send up an extra towel?" You glanced down at the shattered bottle of wine you had picked up from the grocery store. You had used one of the hotel towels to mop it up. It was only after the fact, of course, that you realized you only had one towel left.
"Of course," The friendly woman on the phone answered, "Can I have a room number?"
"1409," You answered.
A few keyboard clacks later, and she said, "You have a package at the front desk. Would you like us to send that up, too?"
A package? You thought. You didn't recall ordering anything. Still, you figured it was most likely something Public Safety had sent you (and, least likely, a bouquet of flowers from your husband).
"Okay, yeah, sure," You hummed. "Send that up, too, thanks."
The phone call ended a moment later, after the two of you had exchanged goodbye. Within five minutes, there was a knock at your door.
"Room service," A feminine voice grunted.
"Coming!" You answered. Tip-toeing around the mess of broken glass you'd left bundled up inside of a red-stained white towel, you jogged to the door to answer it.
A short, brown-haired old lady in a maid's uniform was holding a freshly folded towel in one hand, and a rectangular brown box in the other. You took both from her gratefully, ducking your head and muttering a quick 'Thank you' before closing the door.
You set the towel down on the bed. Then you flopped down next to it, eyeing the brown box up precariously. It had "FRAGILE: HANDLE WITH CARE" printed all over it.
I wonder what it is.
Of course, you had left your letter openers and box-cutters at home, so you made do with a butter knife that the hotel had so graciously provided to you. You took out a few layers of packing foam and tissue paper before the item was finally revealed to you.
It was a small, gold framed painting. One with pink and blue wildflowers in a green, open field. One with a clear sky and a tree. The one from the gallery.
"How the fuck...?" You asked, turning the thing over in your hands, as if to make sure that your eyes hadn't deceived you. (They hadn't.)
It was something so strange, so oddly specific, that you could only attribute it to one individual.
"The paintings are beautiful."
"They are, aren't they?" Captain Hayakawa reiterated. Something told you he wasn't only speaking about the paintings. "You like that one?"
"I do," You answered. "It's peaceful, I think. Pretty."
You admired the beautiful painting beneath the warm hotel light. Then, with a giddy sigh, you flopped onto your back, clutching it to your chest.
Aki, you smooth bastard. You thought. Fair play.
.
The conference room buzzed with anticipation as agents filed in, each clad in the standard uniform of crisp suits and ties.
You sat in the front row, your hands folded neatly in your lap, trying to maintain a professional demeanor.
The atmosphere was thick with tension and a sense of gravity, appropriate for a meeting about the Gun Devil—a formidable enemy everyone in the room was acutely aware of.
Miss Makima stood at the front, her posture perfect, her pink hair immaculately styled. She exuded an aura of authority and control that was almost frightening, which was normal for her. A large board behind her displayed a complex array of photographs, maps, and written leads, all connected by a web of strings and arrows. It was a visual representation of the intelligence gathered on the Gun Devil, a chilling reminder of the stakes at play.
As Makima began to speak, detailing the latest developments and potential leads, you tried to focus on her words. She spoke with a calm, measured cadence, explaining the connections and evidence they had so far. But as the minutes passed, you felt a warmth spreading across the back of your neck, an unsettling sensation that made you shift in your seat.
Curious, you turned your head slightly, just enough to glance over your shoulder. There he was—Captain Hayakawa—propped up against the wall at the back of the room, his gaze locked onto you with a disconcerting intensity. His blue eyes were sharp, unwavering, and you felt a jolt of electricity shoot down your spine. The way he looked at you, it was as if he could see right through the layers of professional decorum you had carefully constructed.
A rush of heat flooded your face, and you quickly turned back around, your pulse quickening.
Behave, you reminded yourself sternly. But it was hard to focus, hard to even think straight, with his gaze burning into you so desperately like that – like you were the only person in the room, like he would freeze time if he could just to ravage you right then and there.
You pressed your legs together, a subconscious reaction to the sheer force of his attention.
He was going to be the death of you if you didn't get the hell out of Tokyo soon.
Makima continued her presentation, moving to a new section of the board, but her words became a distant murmur in your ears. All you could think about was the weight of Aki's stare, the way it made you feel exposed and vulnerable. You couldn't help but wonder what was going through his mind. He wasn't shy, not in the slightest—his gaze was bold, almost challenging, as if daring you to meet his eyes again.
You swallowed hard, forcing yourself to look back at the board. The images and notes blurred together as you struggled to refocus. You knew you should be paying attention—this information was critical, after all—but Aki's presence was an insistent distraction. You could feel his eyes on you, a constant, burning sensation that refused to let up.
When the meeting finally concluded, you realized with a sinking feeling that you had retained almost nothing from the entire seminar. You gathered your things, avoiding eye contact with everyone as you hurried out of the room.

Bucky couldn't concentrate on anything, trying to remember how he got here in the first place.
He had an important meeting today. A potential deal that could make him lots of profit. He was nervous but knew he could handle it. He was good at this.
The clients showed up on time, and the meeting was going great. He didn't pay much attention to the woman; he didn't care to remember her name. She had been eyeing him ever since she walked in. He was being professional.
The meeting went well. They were able to get the deal for an even higher profit than he thought.
Maybe that would explain how he got here. He met with this woman, whom he found out was called Daisy, in a café shop close to the office. Celebrating the deal, maybe.
The woman seemed nice enough. She was the one to ask him out. He decided now would be a great time to listen to all his friends and family. Move on.
But he couldn't. He was barely listening to what she was saying. It felt wrong. Everything about this felt wrong for him. Him on a date with a woman who asked him out, and he didn't turn it down immediately because he was taken. But he wasn't anymore. That's why he had to move on.
His thoughts stopped abruptly. Daisy put her hand on his, creasing it smoothly. The touch was so foreign that he almost flinched. The touch was so small, but it was unwelcome from him. Daisy was clearly flirting, implementing something more serious than a small touch.
And he tried. He tried to go along but failed. He couldn't. He didn't want her. He didn't want any women. He only wanted one. You
Bucky wanted to hold you last night. Talk to you about the deal. Let you sooth his nerves and comfort him. You were the first person he wanted to call and share the news with. He wanted to celebrate with you. And the fact he couldn't was killing him.
Then it hit him. He wanted you. No, he needed you. He couldn't do this. He couldn't be with other women. It was only you.
It was like everything was finally making sense. He had to fix what he had broken. He shouldn't move on. He should be at home with you and the kids, begging for your forgiveness.
This wasn't working for him anymore. The life he thought he wanted, he absolutely despised. He was miserable. He had to put an end to this.
Tumblr media
"Bucky." Surprise was clear in your voice. You just got home and were waiting for the kids to return from school, and he was supposed to be at work.
"Hey, can I talk to you?" Bucky looked distraught despite his collected nature. Did something happen to the kids?
"The kids are fine. I want to talk to you." He read through your mind. He almost forgot you only ever want to talk when it’s stuff regarding the kids.
You nodded and moved to the side of the door to let him in. He looked nervous about coming in but got inside anyway.
"Is everything okay?" You asked, concern filling your voice. He was acting weird.
"No. Nothing is okay." He waited for a second before he gave his answer.
You looked at him, confused and worried, ready to offer your help if you could. He let out the breath he was holding.
"Nothing has been okay ever since we broke up."
It was now or never. He was done being a coward. He was done letting his mind control him. Ruining his life.
"Bucky." You were not going down there again. You just got hold of your life. Gained a bit of normality. The pain wasn't suffocating you as much.
"No. You have to listen to me." Bucky understood why you wouldn't want to listen. But he wasn't giving up this time.
"You're the love of my life. The best thing that ever happened to me. The shining star in my darkness. The warmth to the coldness inside me. The lullaby for my loud, noisy thoughts. The music of my existence. You are my everything. "
"I messed up. I messed up big. I thought this wasn't what I wanted. I let my demons make the decisions for me. It's not true. It was never true."
"You are what I need. You complete me in ways I didn't know were possible. You saved me from myself. You bring me life. You're my life."
"I want to come home to you. I want to hold you and tell you how much you really mean to me. I want to be your husband. Your man. It's what I was meant to be."
"Bucky, you married me because our friends bet whether you were going to propose or not. You liked the challenge of people thinking you could never settle down. And now you are done." You were starting to make peace with it all. You always knew who Bucky was. It was sweet to think you were different. But you weren't. And you are working on that.
"No. I'm not." It hurt Bucky, knowing how this situation made you think—how it made you think his love for you wasn't as big as the ocean.
You were about to say something, but he cut you off. He wasn't going to let you, too, believe the lies his brain told him.
"I married you because I love you. I knew that if I didn't, thousands of men would. I married you because you were the only thing I could think about. Filling my days and nights with colors and light. I married you because I wanted to have this life with you."
"And I'm sorry that my brain tricked me into thinking I didn't. I did. I wanted this. Every inch of this life that I had with you, I wanted. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you."
"I'm sorry I ever thought it wasn't." It felt like waking up. Finally, he admitted the truth: All his doubts were nothing.
He was going to make up for his mistakes.
"9 years ago, I got on one knee and asked you to marry me, to be mine, and to let me love you forever."
"This time, I will get on both knees for you." Bucky kneeled to the ground on his knees in front of you. Hesitantly, putting his around your waist. Begging you with eyes to stay and don't push him
"Forgive me, please. Forgive the idiot I am. Forgive how stupid I can be. I'm sorry I shut you out. Made you think it was you. It never was. It has always been me. I never deserved you, but I swear nobody could love you more."
"I'm sorry for all the pain and the hurt. I'm sorry I was the reason for your tears. I'm sorry for never treating you like the precious diamond you are. I'm sorry; I forgot what matters most. You."
"If you would take me back, I promise you I will be the best man I can be." I will make up for my mistakes and wrongs. I will take care of you. I will never push you away. I will spend my life cherishing and loving you."
"And when you get bored again?" You couldn't hide the tremble in your voice. Emotions hit you with full force. There was the one you always loved, on his knees in front of you, saying everything you ever wanted to hear and more.
"I can't get hurt again." He had to know. He had to know you couldn't go through this again.
"You won't. I won't let it happen again. I will share my feelings and worries. I will put you first. I will remember how it felt not to have you by my side. I will be the husband you deserve."
He couldn't hold back the tears anymore. It fell on his face; he needed you to forgive him. To take him back. He knew you shouldn't, that you're not a game to pick and throw away. But he would do anything. He would do whatever it took. He was already on his knees. He would do more. Whatever you want He can't live another day without you.
"Prove it." Your voice was soft, and you looked at him with gentleness.
"Prove you really want me back. That you just don't want to be back home. You want me." You're not trying to play hard to get. But you had to know for sure that it wasn't another phase. Another indecisive episode he was going through.
"Prove, I really mean that much to you." Words were easy. You needed action this time. You needed to be sure. You needed to safety from your fears.
"Earn me." You already knew you were going to get back together. You would forgive him eventually. You loved him that much. However, Bucky had to work for it. He had to show you his love. His love for you
Bucky couldn't help but smile. He rested his head on your stomach, feeling like a stone had been lifted off his chest. There was hope for you. You didn't turn him down or throw him out of the house. You were willing to try. You were giving him an opportunity. A chance back to your heart. And God knows he would never screw it up.
He moved his head to look you in the eyes. He saw it. The light that kept him going. The hope for a new start. He got up, looking at you with determination in his eyes. Bucky was going to win you back.
"I promise you won't regret it." He had to reassure you. You made the right decision.
"Be ready by 7," Bucky said as he went to leave.
"What? Today?" You turned to him as he was moving towards the door.
"Yes. Dress nice." He was wasting time. He wasted enough.
"I can't find a babysitter now." You couldn't help but laugh. He was really serious.
"I will figure it out. See you." Bucky didn't leave you room to protest. He left the house, and the phone was already in his hand, making all the calls needed.

4:26 PM ~ *Navia*

Summary: It's raining in Fontaine. The perfect weather for umbrellas.
Pairing: Navia X G/N!Reader
Genre: Fluffyish Drabble

A/N: My love letter to her gorgeous umbrella!
"What's got you so antsy?" Navia asked as the two of you walked through the headquarters of the Spina di Rosula.
You should've known that she would pick up on the spring in your step and fidgety fingers. She was very good at reading people and, well, you weren't being very discreet.
"Ah, it's nothing..." You know you can't lie to her, but it was worth a shot.
Navia stopped in her tracks, grabbing your forearm. Her golden curls rustled as she shook her head. "No, no, no. You're going to tell me what's got you all worked up. What's going on in that head of yours?"
You glance out the window, not hiding your forlorn expression. "It's raining."
"Raining?" She followed your sightline before nodding with a shrug. "I suppose you're right. I wonder what's made the Iudex so sad. At least it's not storming."
You nod before giving a shrug. "I don't know what's upsetting Neuvillette. Everything in Fontaine has been running smoothly so far. We could always investigate, if you so wish."
She tapped her chin, her eyes narrowed on you. "We could, but I feel like there was another reason why you mentioned the rain outside."
Once again, your fingers began to fidget and you looked away from her scrutinizing gaze. "I was hoping to spend some time outside in the rain. Though I don't like it because it means Neuvillette is sad, I do find it peaceful."
She nodded, her hand trailing down your forearm to your hand to give it a gentle squeeze. "I completely understand. While we should go find out what is troubling Neuvillette, we can take the long way to the Palais Mermonia so we can spend as much time in the rain as possible. How does that sound?"
You smile and nod. "Sounds like a great plan."
"Excellent! I'll go get the umbrellas!" Navia bounced down the halls to gather her jewel-encrusted umbrella and your more simpler one.
You made a quick pitstop to the kitchen to pack a little basket of treats for Neuvillette, in case it was needed. When you arrived at the front door, Navia handed you your umbrella.
"Ready to go?"
"Ready."
You both stepped outside and opened your umbrellas. You linked your arm with hers, earning a small giggle from her. The two of you walked in comfortable silence through the wet streets of Fontaine. You found yourself smiling as you were enveloped with the scent of rain and listened to the soft patter as it fell on your umbrellas. You couldn't help but look up at Navia's beautiful umbrella she took with her everywhere. It seemed to sparkle in the rain, like a beautiful painting.
"What are you staring at?" Navia giggled behind her hand.
"Just, your umbrella is so pretty." You reply, your cheeks warming at being caught. "I've always thought it was absolutely gorgeous."
"Why thank you." She nodded before looking up at your own umbrella. She then gave a small frown. "It's a shame really, considering yours isn't as fancy as mine. But! I'm sure if we take a quick trip to Inazuma, we can ask Chiori to make you a pretty umbrella as well."
You shook your head. "Oh, no I couldn't! Chiori's creations are so expensive!"
"Consider it a gift from me to you."
Your eyes widened at her words. "No, Navia, I couldn't!"
"You can and you will." She replied, giving you a sharp look. "I insist! You're my closest and dearest friend. If I want to give you a gift, I will!"
"I'll pay you back."
"It's a gift! You don't pay someone back for a gift!"
"But Navia!"
"But nothing." She patted your head in a friendly manner. "I am buying you a gorgeous new umbrella so we can match, and that's the end of this discussion."
"Thank you." You dip your head out of respect.
She waved off your thank you with a smile. "Think nothing of it! Besides, we need to focus. We have to go cheer up the Iudex!"

transformers one is out now!!! have yuo watched it yet?? how was it?? c:
HI ANON i hope you dont mind that i kept this in my askbox for a couple days because I hadn't watched it yet (wanted to make sure I was No Longer Sick, because being sick in the cinema is Not Great) and also technically it hasn't released here yet,,,? BUT apparently they've got advance preview weekends for like. the same price so Obviously I went.
ANYWAY I HAVE WATCHED IT NOW AND IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!! THANK YOU FOR ASKING.
AHHHHHHHHHH hold on I've been talking nonstop about it for like the last. 4 hours. fucking help me. or dont. I love to chatter and will continue to do so under the cut shjfkgnwmbfks so if you count this, it'll end up nearing 6. I'm... probably going to talk about this as if you know the general premise of the movie, but if not. Google it. Or just go watch it!! (Can recommend) I talk too much to summarise it fhfjfbskdnfkf
Vague spoiler warning because I don't know what I'll talk about rhdjfbekntkr,,,,
Edit: If you've been following me for any amount of time, you know that when I say this got long, you really do have to believe me on that.
My mom liked it as well???? She came with me because I didn't want to subject any of my irl friends to my tf rambling and she didn't want me to go alone fbfkfbkd I thought she wouldn't, but SHE LIKED IT.
Okay so first off: going into the theatre, I was so so afraid that I was going to have the same thought I had after watching Puss and Boots: The First Wish, which was- "I REALLY liked that, and it would have been one of my favorite movies if I was still a child." (Still a really good movie!!)
BUT I DIDN'T HAVE THAT. I JUST REALLY LOVE THE MOVIE FULL STOP.
Anyway, onto my wild rambling.
The visuals were superb!! Gorgeous. No notes. Freaking amazing animation and character design and world design !!!!! I'LL COME BACK TO THAT I COULD YELL FOREVER ABT WORLDBUILDING. The characterisation is so so good, so tasty.
Also because I'm a huge honkin nerd...
The movie is largely focused on the dynamic between Orion Pax/Optimus Prime and D-16/Megatron, but the other characters also shine through really well, and they show off a lot personality even with the ones with very few scenes. Elita-One is a fucking delight I wanna kiss her!!!!!!! She's so cool and pragmatic and it SHOWS in what she does and how she acts. She IS better than you, and she knows it. Even Starscreams confident yet cowardly nature is shown with him lounging on a throne and slinking off after his fight with D-16, and he's barely there!!! RAHAGGHHH I love what you can do with characterisation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also my god this movie was funny. Even when the pacing is fast it's a GOOD fast. Comedic moments are used really well in this, and it flips smoothly between that and the more serious and heartfelt bits.
AND HRHFJFJDK okay so maybe its just my sense of humor, but I found Bee to be really really really funny. He's just like me for real!!! Talks too much, excited as HELL about everything!!!!!!!!! HE'S JUST LIKE ME. I also told my mom this and she was like. "Yes! He is jist like you!! He talks a lot. You would do the knife-hands thing. Also, you're wearing yellow." And. I was. I am. hrhfjfjfkkghdk 💛💛 Shockwave in this movie is ALSO very funny. He gets punched <3 Many other characters also get punched, but he complains about it. He reminds me somewhat of TF Animated Shockwave but less intimidating sgdjfbdjfbdmfbmd

Speaking of characters... Airachnid was so pretty. I love her design so much!!!! She's alien and COOL and I love her!!!!! She has so many eyes... (I'd ALSO love to know more about what her deal is. But... her lack of a motive/story is made up infinitely by strong screen presence and personality) Sentinel was ALSO very pretty and I loved seeing him on screen but I (spoilers) loved seeing him get ripped in half more. Those were LOVELY shots.
I brought my mini Soundwave along with me!! I liked Soundwave in the movie even if he didn't play a big part <33 The "there sure are a lot of waves" joke was VERY funny because I had the exact same thought moments before.
There are a LOT of cameos in the film and I kept going "AHHHHH [CHARACTER]". I get why they didn't add more as main characters- there were a loooooot of characters running around already, and only 2 hours!! Even so, I still wish we saw more of the other characters that cameoed (JAZZ!!!!!! MY BOYYYY!! I WAS SO SCARED THEY'D KILL HIM OFF) or had minor appearances because I just. I want to know what they'd do with the characterisation........ but that's what fanfic for for ig ehfjfhdk,,
And on the topic of lovely shots, theres a series of scenes near the end of the movie with no dialogue, only music and sound and. It's SO good. It's so impactful and beautiful and ausuaiaiurhrgh...
The whole movie is inherently sort of a tragedy since it's a prequel. We all know how it ends; what these characters become. But the build up to that is so SO good. I loved the character progression- D-16'S PROGRESSION TO BECOMING MEGATRON IS!!! AHHHHH!! I loved seeing him shift from one perspective to another and they made it believable.
His anger and betrayal giving way to violence- there's this one bit shortly after they are given the ability to transform where you See that violence in D-16 fir the first time, and it's shot so starkly in comparison to the other characters (who also fight to get away) and it's just like. Oh. There's the potential for something dangerous there.
It is so so interesting to me to see how that violence is framed in comparison to the others- all three of the other protags have their moments of violence- Elita-One is very very intimidating and used violence/threats to get her way, and Bee has this lightheartedness/innocence to his violence... Orion Pax is just. he's doing what needs to be done, he takes no joy from the destruction- he's fighting back, but I think most importantly all of them know when to stop.
There are the fights and punches that get thrown around, and then there is D-16 wailing on Starscream. Megatron RIPPING SENTINEL IN HALF. God that scene was good.
Anyway, sometimes in media a character goes through a Big Event that changes or breaks them, but here? There is no breaking point for D-16/Megatron. It's a slow spiralling descent and you see him taking one step after another, deciding to continue down this path. This is shown in a more literal way with his eyes slowly changing colour through the movie (fucking SICK SHOTS!!!!!!!) but there are a dozen more moments where you can see him decide who he is becoming.
IT WAS REALLY GOOD, I LOVE SHIT LIKE THAT.
And as audience!! Though we know this change is inevitable!! (This is an event in the past- the end of this is already written!!!) It's still tragic!! I feel for him!! I want him to keep getting back up in the face of Sentinel's cruelty!!!!!!!!!!
Orion watching his friend change, seeing them grow further apart... and he still hangs onto that hope right up until the end (and even after that!!!!!! He banishes him, because he will not kill him!!)
imo, they did Orion Pax/Optimus Prime really well in this one- he gets into a lot of trouble and it somehow works out. I think they do really well in making him feel down to earth in this- he's punchy and dynamic and has this unwavering respect for the people around him, but he's also good at being tricky and manipulative to get interesting outcomes that nobody else could have considered- he knows how people tick on an individual level and he knows how to use that. He thinks differently, and it's fantastic. Most importantly, Orion can see something nobody else can: a world where things are better.
Orion becoming Optimus... ough. aough. It's so!!!!!! AHHH. I loved all of the sequences that follow after. When his signature axe made an appearance I was so excited it was REALLY COOL. ALL OF IT WAS SO COOL.
The fight choreography is FANTASTIC and while it was a little messy at times (so much... going on........) it was fluid and dynamic and mwah mwah mwah I love it.
ALSO I SAID I'D YELL ABOUT WORLDBUILDING but this is really really long already so like. I'll keep it short as I can
The glimpses of the society that exists is FASCINATING to me. We don't get to see much of it, because our main characters are purely of the lower classes, so what's available to us is quite limited, but the class structure is INTERESTING to me. Unlike IDW, where form dictates function, this universe is driven (ha. ha.) on the idea that some Cybertronians can't transform (and thus work in the lower classes, as miners and waste management etc.) but as it turns out, (spoilers) they actually get their transformation cogs removed before they come online. And like... I can't help but wonder how they pick who gets that treatment?? Luck???? I'm dying to know.
ALSO I really like the Quintessons (sad they're not the the horrible five faced creature things. I wanna see the Weirdos!!!!) but I still think these fuck hard. They're really buggy and organic and cool (I adore their ship designs holy shiiiiiiiiit- just yesterday I was admiring all the bugs and monsters and crabby things in Guild Wars 2, and now THIS?? BLESSED.) And the CYBERTRONIAN DEER ARE COOL!!!!!!!!!! I like them. That's all. I wished we got to see more of the bio-mechanical parts of the planet...
AND AND THE PLANET ITSELF HOLY SHIT AHHHHHH!!!!! The city is gorgeous- the spires going up and down is mwah amazing. The roads and rails appearing/disappearing as they are used? PEAK. The MINES and the surface of Cybertron. They're shifting, moving, alive. I legit was staring slackjawed when they were in the mines- it's just SO COOL to watch!!!
OKAY. IM DONE NOW.
...
AUGH I want to watch it again. I probably WILL watch it again.
If you got all the way down here, thank you for reading (?!) and please tell me what YOU thought of it if you've seen it 🥺👀 Or if you're going to. I definitely recommend it.

drunk calls
Tumblr media
pairing: Christian Pulisic x Reader
TW: mentions of alcohol // drinking // mentions of a breakup
Your break up with Christian, your boyfriend of 2 years, definitely took a toll on you. You isolated yourself from the outside world, preferring to stay in the comfort of your home, not wanting to risk being hurt again. You found yourself thinking about him, even after a month. In fact, you've only been able to think about him since the moment he walked out the front door of your apartment.
And that brings us here: you're sitting in bed, staring blankly at your laptop as your mind drifts back to when you last saw his gorgeous smile...and wondering how in the hell things got so screwed up between the two of you.
When did everything go wrong? How could it be possible for you and the love of your life to become nothing more than strangers after everything you'd been through together?
As you think, the clock ticks away over on the wall, reminding you that it is now almost 2 am. What was supposed to have been an easy evening at home with just a little bit of internet browsing turned into hours spent dwelling on what went wrong between the pair of you.
-
"Y/n, I'm telling you. You need to go out and stop torturing yourself" your friend Sadie says in exasperation as she sits down beside you on your sofa.
"I know it hurts, but you can't live like this forever" For a moment, you let out a pitiful groan, burying your head in your hands, causing your friend to put her arm around you, giving you a comforting hug.
"It just doesn't make any sense. We loved each other" You say as you lift your head to stare directly at your closest confidant, needing to see her face for some sort of reassurance.
"I know you loved him, but he broke your heart, Y/n. There's no going back from that" She replies with her own personal version of sympathy, leaning in closer to whisper in your ear.
"How about we go out tonight?" She suggests quietly, resting her chin upon your shoulder. Her suggestion makes sense; you don't want to sit alone at home while you replay the whole situation again and again in your head.
"We can find a club, get drunk, dance all night long..." She starts, but you don't let her finish her sentence before you're nodding your head in agreement. The very thought of doing something as pointless as drinking until you feel numb seems strangely appealing right now.
"Great idea, come on, lets go!" You both stand up from your seats, making your way to your bedroom to get dressed.
-
As you and Sadie entered the club, you both made a beeline for the bar. Tonight would be a good night to start getting drunk. If you were honest with yourself, you just wanted to forget all about Christian and drown your sorrows in alcohol.
At least, that's what you hoped.
You took your first sip of a dark red wine, savouring the taste and feeling it run smoothly down your throat, before taking another sip. Sadie drank two glasses of wine before calling it a night, stating that she was the designated driver for the pair of you. You, on the other hand, decided to push the envelope a little more, ordering 2 more drinks at the bar, downing them almost immediately.
You couldn't remember the last time you felt this free, having gotten completely hammered on just 3 drinks. At times, the lights seemed to turn on their side, spinning dizzyingly as they circled the room, accompanied by flashing colors of purple, orange and green.
The rest of the night was a blur. You vaguely remember Sadie telling you that she was leaving to go hookup with some dude she met at the bar, abandoning you at the club, drunk and alone.
After another hour, you decided you wanted to leave, so you turned on your phone and scrolled through your contacts and tapped on the one you were most used to calling.
Christian.
"Pick up pick up pick up" You drunkenly mumbled to yourself.
"Y/n???"
"Oh my god, heyyyy. Your voice is like, really hot right now"
"Y/n... you sound drunk...where are you?"
"What do you mean where am I? I'm at a club with Sadie. Duh." You mumbled, before taking a deep breath.
"Well, Sadie left to go get some, but I'm still here. You know, enjoying the vibes" Your speech was slurring as you spoke.
"Y/n, I know you're probably drunk off your ass right now, but please stay right where you are. I'm coming to get you" You sat in silence for a few seconds before realizing he had actually hung up.
-
Less than 5 minutes later, Christian had arrived at the club. He only knew which club you were at because that was the only club you liked going to. He jumped out of his car and raced inside to find you. As he cut through the crowds, he saw you sitting on one of the leather couches. He let out a breath of relief as he approached you.
"Hey sweetheart" His warm voice pulled you from your thoughts of the different colors you saw floating throughout the club. It felt as though you had sobered up almost instantaneously just by hearing his voice.
He pulled you up gently, placing his hands under your armpits and supporting your weight against his chest, carrying you out of the building. As he stepped outside onto the sidewalk, he placed you into the passenger seat. He sat behind the wheel of the car, glancing over at you before beginning his drive.
"Drink this. It'll help" He handed you a bottle of water to help you sober up.
"So what exactly were you doing at a club with Sadie?" He cleared his throat before speaking, leaning forward slightly in his seat to gaze through the windshield.
"Trying to forget" you replied honestly, keeping your eyes focused ahead of you while slowly drinking the water bottle. Christian quickly glanced at you as you answered.
"What were you trying to forget about?" He questioned.
"That's a stupid question" You retorted dryly before you looked at him, unable to read his expression due to your current state.
"You... and us..." You whispered, feeling sorry for yourself. A frown appeared on Christian's lips as he listened to your confession.
"Why did you want to forget about us?"
"Because it hurts too much to think about what we had and then it all suddenly got taken away from me" You buried your head deeper into your lap, wishing you hadn't spoken up. He inhaled deeply through his nose, letting out a shaky exhale before speaking again.
"I don't know why I did it" He added. He heard you sniffle loudly, so he reached over to squeeze your hand reassuringly.
"I know you may hate me, but I do love you. I don't want you to feel like it was anything you did. It was all my fault" He continued softly.
"You don't need to carry around guilt for things that weren't your fault. Don't punish yourself for my stupidity" You nodded, gazing out of the window instead of looking at him. He sighed, rolling his shoulders as he kept his eyes fixed on the road ahead. You had never been so close to tears.
"I hope you know that I don't hate you" You finally found yourself speaking up, your voice shakier than ever. Christian turned his head to face you.
"I couldn't possibly hate you, Chris. I love you too much to do that" You whispered before turning to meet his eyes. He smiled sadly, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you towards him.
-
Once he had driven to your house, he helped guide you out of the car and up to your front door. You handed him the key, allowing Christian to turn the lock and open the door before guiding you inside. He led you upstairs, opening your bedroom door and leading you to your bed.
"I'll go grab you some make-up wipes. You just uh... stay here and get changed into something comfy" He whispered as he disappeared into your bathroom.
While he was gone, you took advantage of the opportunity and changed into a pair of sweatpants and a random hoodie. Moments later, Christian walks back in with a pack of wipes in hand. He freezes as the sight of you.
"Is that my hoodie?" His question causes you to look down and take a look at what you were wearing. It was indeed his hoodie.
"Oh, yeah I guess it is. Do you want it back-" You asked but were cut off mid-sentence.
"No, keep it. It looks better on you anyways" He gave you a soft smile before removing one makeup wipe from the package and wiping it across your face.
"Thank you" You murmured as you watched him put away the unused ones. An awkward tension filled the room as you both sat in silence.
"Did you really mean it? When you said you still love me?" You questioned the man in front of you.
"I wouldn't lie about that, Y/n. I don't think I'll ever love anyone as much as I love you. Even though I'm an absolute idiot, I want to make us work" He admitted.
"Then how about we give it another try?" You stated firmly.
"I'd really like that" He smiled at you, before pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead as he made his way to the exit.
"Chris" You shouted in attempt to grab his attention. He turned around at the mention of his name.
"Stay with me, please" You gave him a look and he knew he wouldn't be able to say no to you. Having already been in a pair of sweatpants, Christian slid into bed next to you, initially keeping himself at a far enough distance to not make you uncomfortable, but you pulled him closer to you anyways.
You laid in his arms as you began to feel yourself fall into a deep slumber, his hands slowly rubbing your back.
"I love you, princess" was all that could be heard as you were finally fell asleep in Christian's arms once again.

Okay Smallville friends, here we go: finale time.
"And now, the series finale of Smallville" WHAT IF I'M ALREADY SAD
"Special Guest Star: Michael Rosenbaum" wow spoilers much?? I mean not for me obviously but for OG viewers. I would have SCREAMED.
Lois, sweetie, he could be saving people every minute he's doing anything, by that logic. Why is his working at the Planet, etc, any different than spending time with you?
Aww, bye Luthor Mansion. You've been a fun place to stage so, so many Clex fics. Hmm I wonder if there are more fics set there or in the barn loft? I'm torn between them, personally.
Kind of rich for Martha to complain about Clark moving on when she hasn't been around for years. "This is our home" okay but you left him here. He's had to cope without you. It's not fair to put the responsibility of keeping the past alive on his shoulders alone.
Oh no his vows 😭😭😭
I feel like we don't have enough time to wrap up this (rather dull) Darkseid plotline AND have a wedding AND bring Lex back? I know this is a double episode but still. Although I suppose Lex's scene will be short and right near the end.
Oh no her vows 😭😭😭
Again I ask: has there ever been a TV wedding that just goes smoothly?
At least Lois's dress is nicer than Lana's. That bow haunts me.
Is he gonna walk down with her AGGHHHH this is so sweet 😭
Uh oh. Lois girl, pay attention, that's not the right ring. Oh thank god for Chloe.
Can't believe they're doing this to Oliver ☹️ hasn't he suffered enough?
So wait: did Clark Luthor not have powers? Did I miss that? I swear he was throwing people around and shit.
Lol is that a Herve Leger bandage dress on Lois?
Agggh Tom does vulnerable so well. "I can't, Dad" just like a little baby boy, I weep.
OH GOD I KEEP FORGETTING ABOUT ALT!LIONEL, it's a fucking jump scare every time.
Oh my god so this Lex is a fucking Frankenstein?? That's...weird. A Frankenlex.
OH MY GOD HE'S GONNA TAKE TESS'S HEART
IS THAT MICHAEL?? Wait probably not, we didn't see his face.
YES GIRL KICK THEIR ASSES
YES GIRL KILL THAT OLD BASTARD!
God this Darkseid CG is so bad
Omg omg omg omg omg OH MY GODDDDD
Oh I hate when they take an already blurry photo and then CSI-style ENHANCE! it to magically unblur it
OH MY GOD OKAY HERE WE GO
I see one of the Franken-pieces was his sassy ass mouth. God I've missed him.
Lex, honey, you've been back for thirty seconds and you're already waxing poetic about how he says your name??? I see another of the Franken-pieces was the need to make every interaction so incredibly gay. "Yet...with a hopeful finish" oh my god honestly
Apologies in advance: I might have a comment on every line of this dialogue.
Oh dear, you can see the bald cap a bit when he raises his eyebrows. I remember Michael said the bald cap was more trouble than just shaving his head lol
Lord, it wouldn't be a proper Lex return without a history speech. HONEY I'VE MISSED YOUUU!
"that's the thing about memories: you can't forget them" mmmm I don't think that's true baby.
Oh gosh the vitriol.
"You and I - we will both be great men. Because of each other." Honey the WAY you talk about the two of you. THE VOICE CRACK. "We have a destiny together, Clark, only on different sides."
Everything he says sounds like a love confession I'M SO SORRY BUT IT DOES
Stop wait one fucking minute here. The last piece of Clark's little "am I strong enough to face this threat" puzzle, the last person to give him the courage and the conviction to do what he needs to do - is LEX FUCKING LUTHOR??? NOT LOIS NOT HIS PARENTS NOT CHLOE BUT LEX??????? oh my god what is happening that is INSANE OF THEM
I need to watch that again. Gosh I haven't done that since the Lexana scene from Fracture.
HAHA I missed Lex's joke about Lionel's heart the first time around. Why is he so funny
God Michael is so fucking good. He just elevates the tone. It's really what's been missing from these last seasons. The others are good - Tom is so good, I'm not discounting him at all - but Michael is on another level.
Hmm seemed a bit too easy killing the Prophets
Oh poor John Glover. This is Not Good. He was always so suave and cool as Lionel, this is a step down.
Aww look how far our sweet boy has come 😭 I'm so proud of him.
HE'S FLYING 😭😭😭
OH I DIDN'T KNOW WE GOT MORE LEX I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE SCENE WITH CLARK
Ahh jeez. I kinda came around to Tess. She wasn't Lex but she was fun.
Oh riiiiiiight, I forgot he gets his memory wiped. Again.
OH MY GOD THE LAST MEMORY IS HIM AND CLARK OF COURSE IT FUCKING IS
Lol what the fuck does he think is happening, now that he can't remember?
THE LUTHORCORP SIGN TURNING INTO LEXCORP THAT WAS SO RAD
Our baby finally in the suit 😭
Girl I don't think they just let you film the President like that. That camera is gonna be taken away IMMEDIATELY.
Oh yeah I forgot about Jimmy. That was...a choice.
ALL HAIL PRESIDENT LEX!!!!
"yes Miss Lane" "that's so hot" girl yes it is.
Oh the theme 😭 what an ending
That was so great. A bit hokey in parts, but overall such a satisfying finale. What a ride.

I am coming out of anonymity~ I'm the creative woozi + monotone day seokmin anon^^ the seokmin one made me laugh so hard because there was part of it of him like brushing his teeth in ur post and I could just imagine him in don't lie yelling indignantly that he DID brush his teeth during the lie game. (Of course, also the legendary video of him using mingyu's toothbrush)
I have an interview for a job in my desired field on thursday, and I'm so nervous 😖 how about a woozi imagine of him supporting a s/o who's nervous to hell and back (like me)
Tumblr media
woozi with a nervous s/o ✧˖°.
omg i've been busy with my other requests, but i'm making sure to answer yours in time for your interview today!
woozi is very logical in his help/support
he is the type to mark your important dates in his own calendar
if you're getting ready in the morning, putting on your makeup, and getting dressed well, he'd check his phone as he wakes up
for this scenario, i'll make it more specific for you!
"oh, you have that job interview today," he says, still laying in bed as he looks on his phone
"yup! i'm so freaking nervous," you say, trying to get the jitters out by shaking your arms around as you check yourself out in the mirror
"hmm, i get that," he hums, turning in bed so he can look at you.
"if i fail this interview, i don't know what i'm going to do-"
"let's not think about that, y/n/n. i seriously doubt you'll fail."
"but what if i screw up on a question? i prepared, but still."
"slow down for a moment. focus on the things you did prepare for and don't overthink the things you didn't. they're going to be asking you questions that you know the answer to deep down. like your schedule and skills and all that stuff. you know yourself best."
"true, but..."
"aish. you'll do great, don't worry about it! come here," he says, opening his arms wide in bed
"in bed?"
"yeah, just for a moment"
you climb into bed and carefully place yourself in his arms where he holds you gently
he plays with your bangs and the sides of your hair, moving them so they are in place
he gives you a quick kiss on the forehead
"i hope you do well. though i seriously doubt you'd not do well," he says quietly
"thanks, ji."
"fighting!"
"fighting."
you get out of his arms and get your things so you can leave
"make sure to eat and take care of yourself at your work when i'm out, okay, jihoon?"
"don't worry about me when you're at your interview, silly."
"okay, okay, i'm going now!"
"good luck, you'll do great," he mutters, barely audible to you, quietly adding on, "i love you, y/n."
"thanks, seriously. love you too, ji."
for more general terms, jihoon isn't the greatest when it comes to comforting you
but he hopes his "thinking rationally" helps you
and that his soft and somewhat awkward head pats will help you feel more at ease
he will check on you throughout the day with some texts
jihoon: hey, you feeling alright?
jihoon: everything going smoothly?
jihoon: remember not to be so hard on yourself and don't worry too much hehe
he's really sweet like that
he makes it seem really casual, though
sometimes he has to remind himself that he's comforting his s/o and not just a good friend
and the way he changes it to be more endearing is by physically comforting you more or adding "babe" or your nickname after his statements
in moments you're feeling nervous, he's all yours
if you need a hug, his arms are wide open
if you feel clingy, you can hold his hand or give him short pecks
if you want to just lean on him, be his guest, go ahead
he's there for you!
if you're nervous for a presentation or something, he's definitely let you practice in front of him and give you honest feedback
if you're feeling nervous because you're naturally anxious (me me me), he'd stay calm and try to give you his calm energy..?
like he'd rub your back and tell you to take deep breaths and check the facts rather than think with anxious thoughts
if you're out with him and you say
"god, i'm feeling so nervous all of a sudden"
instead of asking why, he'll pull out some earbuds for the both of you to share
and he'll play some relaxing music for you
overall, jihoon would have no problem comforting his nervous s/o!
ofc he would do it in his own, logical way
but nonetheless, he hopes to help you
if you tell him the logic doesn't help, he'll listen to you with all of his attention when he asks you what you'd rather him do instead
and he'll try his best to be the best, supportive boyfriend for you specifically
so communicate well with him!
anyway, thank you so much for the request! and OMG HELLO!!! it's so cool you're not an anon anymore (tho there was never anything wrong with that!), and it's so great to kind of meet you! feel free to request many, many more things.
i hope you do super well at your interview!! update me next time if you want! i wholeheartedly support you, just like how you've supported my writings here for awhile now! have a super good day!
(p.s. requests are still open! i specialize in woozi stuff, but i don't mind writing about other svt members! i can also do some nsfw if you want! so request whatever and as much as you want! ς(>‿<.))

Day 156
November 8, 2020
“Dies ist der Morgen danach Und meine Seele liegt brach Dies ist der Morgen danach Ein neuer Tag beginnt Und meine Zeit verrint”
So, yeah: it is the morning after.
Things went well, I guess? Not as I expected at all but, in retrospect, I don’t know what the fuck was I thinking about when I imagined things going, let’s put it this way, “smoothly” when it is about things that concern me.
First things first: of course that one of my siblings forgot what I had asked and fucking missed the family meeting! She was kind of apologetic, saying that she really, absolutely had to meet with her boyfriend this very day, but it was still a shitty thing to do, in my opinion. If someone who never does so asks you, explicitly and ahead of time, to please be present for something, I think the least you can do is either commit to it or say outright that you won’t be there. I imagine that she didn’t want to be there because she didn’t want to be part of the family drama? I don’t know and, to be honest, I don’t think it really matters. I don’t think her presence would’ve changed the outcome or the others' reactions.
When I found out about them not being there, I had to make a decision. Either I canceled the whole thing or I moved forward. I decided to be respectful to my other sisters (and to my parents) and just go ahead with the thing.
We ate some lunch, had some chit-chat, and then the time came for me to open up and tell them the reason for the family meeting. Instead of going for some kind of preface or explanation, I chose to go for the Aristotelian line of reasoning. In other words: I started with the conclusion.
So I told them what I had told my (remaining and former) friends: “I’m considering transitioning”.
Let’s start with the positive stuff. My younger sister’s reaction was almost everything I could have hoped for. She asked me the usual questions—”Are you sure? Have you considered whether you're just gay?” Etc.—and, once I reassured them that yes, I was sure of at least considering the possibility, she seemed to be onboard. No drama there—at least not for now.
Speaking of drama: my dad cried. Like a lot. And he never cries. It shocked me and it really threw me off, but it was at least an emotional reaction, and he said it was because he was imagining my suffering. Of course I cried during this part as well. And if that had been all, if this was the full report, I’d say that it went OK. Could’ve been better, but it could’ve been way worse too.
And then we come to the subject of my mom.
Being completely transparent here, this was the reaction that matter to me the most. Not because I love her more than my dad or my sisters, but because she’s the one I have the closest relationship with. We talk almost every day over the phone and we have long conversations. She genuinely cares for me and my well-being, and does everything in her power to help me. She sends me frozen meals cooked by her, she washes my clothes (and sometimes irons them, against my protestations), and is all around just there for me, you know?
And she’s also, in her own words, a Roman Catholic. And a traditionalist and all around conservative. She’s the type of person that complains that life was better before… And she actually means it. She’s not a homophobe, but seeing two homosexuals displaying any signs of affection makes her squirm. She doesn’t practice her religion much… But you wouldn’t know it by listening to her. She is, all in all, a proper baby boomer with a pension that’s a misery but who still thinks that capitalism and our overall system are as good as it's ever going to get.
So now you understand why her reaction was so important to me—and why I dreaded it so much.
I was thinking the other day, trying to see if my memories could help me foresee her reaction… And the results were not great.
I remember two instances where she and I didn’t agree on important issues and it became a problem. The first was about religion—of course! We had many arguments back in the day, when I was young and stupid (I’m no longer young, thank you very much). At one point, it got so bad that I used to either work all weekend or escape to my grandparents’ or a friend’s house in order to avoid arguing with her.
The second time I recall was the time when I told her that I had decided to study philosophy once I was finished with high school. I don’t know why, but she lost it. This time we didn’t argue so much as she just stopped talking to me and looked at me like I had a disease or something for days.
In both instances, things only got better when I gave in. I just stopped saying out loud what I though about religion at home. I kept my ideas in general to myself and to whoever wanted to listen to me. And I didn’t study philosophy after high school.
Come to think of it, there’s another very important thing my mom and I have never agreed upon… And this is the only instance I can think of in which I’ve gone directly against her wishes. My mom doesn’t really like that I’m a writer. She never has. She never asks about it, nor has she never expressed any words of support for me regarding it. In fact, she always asks, “when are you going to get a real job?” whenever she can. And I’ve been pretty serious about writing (at least as much as an asshole like me can be about anything) for the past… Decade? Whoa! Times flies away indeed.
And yet, in spite of her lack of support and constant sabotage, I haven’t given in. And every time she’s been happy because I got a “real job” in the past ten years, for one reason or another, I’ve felt myself dying a little inside.
You can tell I’m delaying the inevitable, can’t you?
So, what happened? Nothing awful. At least not dramatically awful or anything like that. She didn’t disavow of me or ask me to leave, no. She just stood there, by my side, looking straight ahead (and perhaps avoiding looking at me?) and didn’t say a single thing. Not one word came out of her mouth. She didn’t cry like my dad nor asked questions like my sister. She just stood there, stone-faced and seemingly in shock. She said something about it being “my life” and “my business” (or something to that effect) and then avoid talking about it for the rest of the evening.
A part of me wants to believe that she’ll change her attitude regarding this, that maybe one day she’ll say that it’s OK, that she loves me and she’ll embrace me and say something like “I love you just the way you are. I always have and I always will.” Yeah, well, I didn’t say that I was a good writer.
Another part of me, the more cynical or realistic one, tells me that no, that this is it. That I have to continue forward and make my decision—whether to transition or not—regardless of my mom’s support… Or lack thereof. That a decision as important as this one can only be made from my center, from whatever makes me me. That it cannot depend on external approval of any kind, my mom’s included.
So here I am, the morning after, wondering whether this’ll be like religion or me studying philosophy… Or like being a writer. This is perhaps the greatest, cruelest test to my incipient transness. Will I go forward or will I go back? Can I? Today, I don’t know. Maybe tomorrow. Definitely, one day, I hope I will know for sure.
Until then, with love,
ZZ

"Are you sure you guys have to lock me up? I mean, I feel like things are gonna be a lot easier tonight." Scott repeated optimistically for the third time.
Stiles rolled his eyes as the two of them headed down the hallway toward the locker room to get ready for their morning practice, tugging the strap of his backpack more firmly over his shoulder.
"Yeah.. I, uh- I'd love to believe you, Scott. But-"
"I'm serious." Scott insisted, "It's not like the last full moon. I don't feel the same."
"Oh? No wolfy urges?" Stiles started, "You're not feeling any urges to kiss your unbelievably attractive and now, might I remind you, ridiculously unavailable best friends?" He asked pointedly, wincing at the mere thought of the way Scott had made a move on Amber the month before. Flashes of pink lipgloss smeared over Scott’s lips, Amber’s wide hazel eyes and bruised knuckles, the angry words that had been shouted back and forth between Scott and himself, all still fresh in his mind.
"Are you describing Amber or yourself?" Scott asked with a grin, amused with his own joke.
"I'm not going to respond to that. Because it wasn't funny." Stiles stated before continuing, "How about the urge to maim and kill people? Like us? Your best friends?"
"I swear I don't have the urge to kiss and/or kill either of you." Scott promised as they walked through the door into the locker room.
"Y'know, you say that now-" Stiles disagreed quietly, "But then the full moon goes up and out come the fangs and the claws and there's a lot of howling and screaming and running everywhere, okay?" He rambled off quickly, gesturing emphatically with his hands as they approached his locker, "And it's very stressful on me. So, yes. We're still going to be locking you up."
"Okay, fine," Scott conceded, leaning against the end of the lockers, "But I do think I'm more in control now. Especially since things are so good with Allison-"
Stiles' face pinched up in annoyance, "Yeah, I'm aware of how good things are with Allison."
"They're really good." Scott repeated suggestively.
"I- Thank you. I know." Stiles muttered.
Scott grinned and raised his eyebrows in insinuation, "I mean like.. Really good.."
"Alright! I get it!" Stiles snapped, "Just, please. Shut the hell up before I get the urge to maim and kill myself."
Scott looked at his best friend in amusement, "Why're you so bitter, anyway? I texted Amber last night. So I know you were planning on sleeping at her place. Alone.." He hinted, "I mean, didn't you guys-"
"No, we didn't." Stiles told him, readjusting his backpack over his shoulder again agitatedly, "I- Which is fine. I've been in love with this girl for nine years. Waiting a little bit longer isn't gonna kill me, I just. It doesn't mean I don't want to. Really bad."
He sighed as his mind unhelpfully supplied him with the same image he'd thought back to a million times in the last 12 hours — Amber, in nothing but the thin lace of her underwear, shivering, smooth skin pebbled with goosebumps, the muscles in her stomach clenched from the cold-
"-Like, all I think about doing every second of every day, bad." He rambled on, huffing angrily when his eyes caught on Scott's smug face again, "And it would just be a whole lot easier if I weren't listening to you brag about your incredible sex life, alright?"
"Okay, okay." Scott raised his hands in surrender and changed the topic, "Do you guys at least have a better plan than handcuffing me in my bedroom this time?"
Stiles nodded and moved to pull his locker open, "Yeah, much better-"
As the door to his lacrosse locker swung open, the sturdy metal chains that he'd stuffed in there haphazardly in preparation for the full moon slipped from the top shelf. They slowly and forcefully slid out to the tile floor of the locker room, clinking loudly as the long link of chains began to coil in a pile at their feet. Stiles made a few aborted motions to catch the mess but they were made in vain, the chains slipping through his hands as they fell until he simply dropped his arms to his sides with a wince.
Coach Finstock stepped up beside him and smacked his gum loudly in Stiles' ear, peering over his shoulder as the chains slowly fell and gathered in a heap. Stiles risked a glance back at the man and then around the locker room, shrinking back awkwardly under the judgemental gazes of the guys around them as the chains continued to fall, seconds stretching painfully slowly to prolong the embarrassment.
When the long chain finally finished piling up on the floor, the changing room was thrust into a stunned silence.
"Part of me wants to ask," Coach Finstock told him, eyes glued to the large pile of chains on the floor at his feet, "But the other part says that knowing will be more disturbing than anything I could ever imagine." He confessed, taking a few steps and backing up slowly, "So, I'm gonna walk away."
"That's good," Stiles choked out, a pink flush on his cheeks, "That's a wise choice, Coach."
He quickly knelt down onto the ground to attempt to collect the mess so that he could stuff it back into his locker and Scott squatted down beside him.
Stiles' hands fumbled with the chains for a moment, his gaze drifting up toward his friend and pausing when he noticed Scott looking around the room distractedly. His friend's eyes raked over their teammates in a slow trail as he searched for something.
"You okay?" Stiles questioned after a few moments, watching his friend continue his survey of the room, "Scott?"
Scott's attention finally snapped over to Stiles with a frown, "There's another," He said vaguely, "In here. Right now."
Stiles blinked in confusion, "Another what?"
"Another werewolf."

Even though they'd skipped both first and second period to get coffee in an attempt to settle some of Lydia's nerves, the redhead still hesitated nervously outside the school building, both Amber and Allison watching her apprehensively out of the corners of their eyes.
"You okay, Lyds?" Amber asked softly, "If you don't wanna do this today, I'll take you home right now. I can just borrow Stiles' Chemistry notes and I'll go to classes after lunch-"
"I'm fine. I can do this." Lydia assured her, "I am not some emotionally scarred little girl who got lost on a hike, okay? I’m better than that. And I don't even remember it, so."
"You seriously don't remember anything?" Allison asked from the redhead's other side.
Lydia looked between her two friends with a sigh before delving back into the explanation she'd already given Amber that morning when she'd first picked her up and asked about her visit to the hospital the night before.
"They called it a 'Fugue State'. Which is basically their way of saying 'we have no idea why you can't remember running around the woods naked for two days.'" Lydia shrugged, "But personally, I don't care. I lost nine pounds."
Amber's hand went to Lydia's shoulder protectively, "Oh, cut it out, will you? You're gorgeous. Always."
Lydia rolled her eyes but didn't deem the compliment worthy of a response, hesitation seemingly gone as she reached out to wrap a hand around the door handle.
"Are you ready for this?" Allison checked again.
"Please," Lydia scoffed, "It's not like my aunt's a serial killer."
Without waiting for a response, Lydia pulled the door open and stepped into the building. Amber shot Allison a small grimace of sympathy and the other girl smiled weakly in response as they followed Lydia inside.
The hallways were crowded at the tail end of the fifteen minute morning break and it seemed as if every one of the students froze in their movements, all of the eyes in the busy hallway suddenly drawn to the reappearance of the girl they'd all been gossiping about since Winter Formal.
The heavy weight of the stares of their classmates had Lydia faltering in her steps once again and Amber stepped up beside her, hand settling on her friend’s back reassuringly.
"Maybe it's the nine pounds." Allison suggested slyly from Lydia's other side.
The comment seemed to jolt Lydia back into action and she tilted her head thoughtfully before stepping away from Amber's outstretched hand and strutting confidently down the hallway toward her locker. Amber scrambled to follow behind her, tugging her backpack straps tighter over her shoulders as she regained her footing and matched her friend's steps.
"Hey, I'm gonna head to Chem, but I'll talk to you later, okay?" Amber checked in quickly, watching as Lydia waved her hand dismissively and hummed, "Text me if you need anything, Lyds. I mean it."
"Honestly. You're worse than my mother, Amber." Lydia commented, flipping her hair over her shoulder as the three split apart at the intersection of the hallways, "If I suddenly have some life threatening emergency, you'll be my first call!" The redhead promised over her shoulder, waving her arm above her head without turning around and disappearing down the hall.
When she could no longer see her head of strawberry blonde hair amidst the throng of students, Amber finally turned only to flinch embarrassingly in surprise when she spun directly into Allison.
"Sorry!" Allison apologized quickly, "I thought you knew I was right behind you."
Amber's heart rate slowed after the sudden spike and she shook her head with an uneasy laugh, "It's fine, no worries."
They looked at one another in uncomfortable silence for a few seconds before Amber took a small step to go, Allison's hand snapping out quickly to wrap around her wrist in a gentle grip.
"Wait!" Allison pleaded, "I just- I wanted to talk to you for a minute. Y'know, without Lydia."
"Oh. Yeah, sure," Amber agreed easily, assuming the other girl wanted to talk to her about their red headed friend, "What's up?"
Allison released her wrist to rub her hand along her own arm uncomfortably, "I just- I know there's no real way to apologize for everything that happened.." She started slowly, "But, I still wanted to tell you that I'm sorry. Like, so unbelievably, ridiculously, and absurdly sorry. For everything."
Amber sighed, pulling at her backpack straps awkwardly, "Thanks, Allison." She said honestly, "I- That- It means a lot."
Allison's stiff posture slumped in what looked like relief, "Does that mean I'm kinda, sorta, a little bit forgiven?" She questioned hopefully with a dazzling smile.
"Kinda, sorta." Amber laughed quietly despite herself, holding up her hand to pinch her thumb and forefinger together and showing her the small gap of space between them, "A little."
Allison's smile widened, "I'll take it!" She laughed excitedly, bouncing on her toes and throwing her arms around the other girl in a hug. Amber laughed and hugged her back for a moment before Allison stepped back with a wide smile. "I'll let you get to class, now." Allison told her, smiling and giving her a wave before darting down the hallway toward her locker.
With an amused shake of her head, Amber turned back to head to the west stairwell and made her way toward Mr. Harris' room on the second floor.
The Chemistry classroom was nearly empty, so she settled in at one of the slightly larger tables near the back of the room and took the center stool out of the three that were squeezed in at the table, dropping her backpack to the ground at her feet. She hummed a tune under her breath and began to bounce her leg absentmindedly, her foot propped up on the lower rung of her seat as she waited for her best friends to join her.
When Scott and Stiles walked through the doorway together, they both seemed to stumble over their own feet at the mere sight of her and they picked up their pace as they rushed toward the table she'd claimed at the back of the room.
"Dude! Where have you been?" Scott asked immediately, settling into the stool on her left.
Her eyebrows furrowed at the tinge of anxiety in her friend's voice and she turned her head toward Stiles when he came around the table on her other side. He hugged her head to his chest in greeting and she reached a hand up to pat his back, nuzzling her nose into his shirt for only a second before she turned her head to speak.
"Allison and I took Lydia out for coffee before we came in-" She explained slowly, cheek still pressed against the soft material of Stiles' shirt. As he released her and sat down, she looked between the two boys on either side of her curiously, "Why, what's going on? Did something-"
"There's another werewolf." Scott told her in a harsh whisper.
"Isaac Lahey." Stiles cut in quickly.
Amber's foot slipped from the rung on her stool and she managed to catch herself with her hands, slapping them down on the tabletop loudly as he continued.
"And it gets better. He was pulled out of practice this morning and is gonna be taken in for questioning because, drumroll please-" Stiles tapped his fingertips on the surface of the table dramatically, "His dad's dead. They're thinking it might be murder and if Isaac's a suspect, we're all seriously screwed because somehow, I doubt the cells at the station are up to code for holding the supernatural."
Her eyes were wide. Derek had assured her everything would be fine. This was decidedly not fine.
"His dad's dead?" She squeaked.
"That's the part that got you?" Stiles asked in disbelief, "Not the sudden appearance of another teenage werewolf?"
"Wh- I.." She stuttered with a wince, pulling her pencil from the spiral of her notebook, desperate to have something between her fingers to fidget with, "I mean, it's just-"
"You knew didn't you?" Stiles interrupted, narrowing his eyes at her suspiciously.
"You knew Derek turned someone?" Scott whispered frantically.
She made a face, tapping her pencil eraser in a fast rhythm against the tabletop, "Technically, I knew he was planning to turn someone-"
"What!" Scott said a touch too loudly, looking around them sheepishly before training a harsh glare on Amber.
Stiles reached out to wrap his fingers around hers, pinning her fidgeting hand down against the table, "Amber. What the hell?" He said seriously.
"I'm sorry!" She apologized in distress, looking over at Stiles with wide eyes, "Derek promised everything would be fine because he was sure that Isaac-"
"If you three are finished, I'm going to start class now." Mr. Harris' voice cut out sharply.
Their attention snapped to the front of the classroom where their teacher was standing at the blackboard, a loathing look of annoyance on his face as he scowled at the three teens through his glasses.
Amber blinked in surprise and looked around the now full classroom. She hadn't even noticed the final bell ring.
"Sorry, sir." She apologized quietly as she felt Stiles' fingers retreat from where they'd been wrapped around her hand.
Mr. Harris glared for another few seconds in silence before he turned to the blackboard, grabbing a piece of chalk and beginning to write, the loud clacking filling the room every time the chalk tapped back down against the board.
"Why would Derek choose Isaac?" Scott asked in a hushed whisper, turning back to look down the table at his friends.
Amber bit down on her lower lip, eyebrows drawing together, hesitant to tell her best friends about herself being Derek's first choice, but equally reluctant to broadcast Isaac's abusive home situation.
Stiles watched her hesitation and he sighed quietly, leaning forward on the table to peer around her toward Scott as he spoke softly, "Peter told me that if the bite doesn't turn you, it could kill you," He said quietly, "Maybe teenagers have a better chance of surviving."
Amber reached out under the table to squeeze his knee in silent thanks for covering for her and he gave her a small, tight smile in response.
"Well, he is a teenager. So, your dad can't hold him, right?" She asked Stiles quietly, smoothing her thumb along the outside of his knee.
He frowned in thought for only a fraction of a second, "Well, not unless they have solid evidence," He whispered in response, "Or a witness.. Wait-" His eyes narrowed and he whipped around, scanning the classroom for a moment before turning to the table beside them, "Danny." He hissed at the boy sitting a few feet away, "Where's Jackson."
Amber's eyes locked on the empty stool beside Danny that was usually occupied by the boy in question, her eyebrows furrowing.
"In the principal's office," Danny told Stiles, the look of confusion on his face revealing that he was surprised the three of them didn't already know, "Talking to your dad."
"What?" Amber whispered frantically at Danny.
"Why?" Stiles asked immediately after.
Danny shrugged, "Maybe because he lives across the street from Isaac."
Stiles turned slowly on his stool, looking at Amber and Scott, jaw agape.
"Witness." Scott supplied quietly.
"Shit, fuck." Amber hissed under her breath, her hand abandoning Stiles' knee so that she could tangle her fingers agitatedly in her hair, elbows on the table in front of her.
"We gotta get to the principal's office." Stiles said quietly.
Amber looked up again with a frown, "How?" She and Scott questioned at the same time.
"Everyone please turn to page seventy-three." Mr. Harris announced as he finished up writing his notes on the board.
Stiles was quick to reach out for Amber's notebook and rip out a blank page, tongue pinched between his lips in concentration as he rolled it into a tight ball. She frowned at the messily torn paper in the notebook in front of her and was about to question him when her eyes were drawn to the small white bundle soaring through the air toward the front of the room. She watched with wide fearful eyes as the ball of paper bounced against the back of their teacher's head with a quiet smack before dropping softly to the ground.
Mr. Harris turned around sharply, furious eyes raking over the students behind him, "Who in the hell did that?" He asked angrily.
A few student's laughed and Amber balked, heart pounding with nerves in her chest. Her accusing finger came up to sell out Stiles in a flash, hyper-aware of the haphazardly torn notebook page sitting in front of her. Stiles pointed his own index finger over her head toward Scott, and the third boy gestured vaguely to his right in the direction of both of his friends.
Mr. Harris took an enraged breath, his jaw clenching as he gestured toward the classroom door, "Principal's office. All three of you. Now."
Amber swallowed nervously and nodded, attempting to quickly collect her books into a pile in her arms with fumbling hands and tripping over her stool as she stood to leave. Stiles reached out to steady her with a hand on her waist as she stumbled and the three of them rushed out of the classroom hurriedly.
When they stepped into the hallway, Amber reached up with her free hand to smack Stiles in the chest.
"Are you out of your mind?" She hissed as they fast walked toward the office.
"Sorry." He apologized weakly, tightening his hand around her waist and squeezing her hip in a way that brought infuriating tingles to her stomach, "Desperate times and all that."
Her face scrunched up and she huffed a sigh, knowing that he was right and they'd needed some way to know what Jackson was telling his dad. But it didn't mean she had to like it.
When they got to the hallway just outside of the principal's office, the boys quickly settled into the two chairs outside of the open door, all three of the teens dropping their books to the ground beneath them.
The secretary narrowed her eyes disapprovingly at the trio as they settled in, clearly having already gotten a call from Mr. Harris while they'd made their way to the office. Amber gave the woman a sheepish smile as she sat back against the armrests between the two seats, tilting her head as the three of them listened in on the voices coming from the office behind them.
"Listen to me," Sheriff Stilinski's voice said from the other side of the wall, "You're telling me you knew Isaac's father was hitting him?"
"Hitting him?" Jackson scoffed, "He was kicking the crap out of him."
Amber frowned at his words, finding herself angry on Isaac Lahey's behalf despite barely knowing him. As if he could sense the moral need for justice flaring up inside of her, Stiles reached up to rest a hand on her thigh where she was propped on the arm of the chair.
"Did- did you ever say anything to anyone?" The Sheriff asked, "A uh, a teacher? Parents? Anyone?"
"Nope." Jackson said easily, "It's not my problem."
"No, no. Of course not." The Sheriff agreed quietly, "Y'know. It's funny. That the kids getting beaten up are never the ones that deserve it."
"Yeah." Jackson agreed immediately, "Wait, what?"
Amber snorted a laugh.
"I think we're done here." Sheriff Stilinski announced.
The sound of footsteps approaching against the tile floor alerted them as the Sheriff and a deputy moved to exit the office and Amber was yanked roughly from her perch between the two chairs. She yelped quietly in surprise as Stiles hauled her down onto his lap and wrenched a magazine open in front of her face. Her hands reflexively came up to hold the edges of the glossy booklet and she raised it up to cover their faces just as his father stepped out into the hallway.
"Hi, Scott." Mr. Stilinski greeted slowly, his eyes flicking over to the seat beside the boy with an unimpressed look, "Amber." He added pointedly.
She peered around the side of the magazine, resolutely keeping it held up in front of Stiles over her shoulder, "Good morning, Mr. Stilinski." She greeted with a nervous smile, keeping her body determinedly still as she acted as a wall between Stiles and his father.
The man continued to look at her in disbelief for a few seconds before shaking his head and disappearing down the hallway without another word.
"Dude. You know he definitely saw you, right?" Scott asked Stiles quietly after a moment.
"Boys. Young lady." A voice addressed them from the door of the office, causing Amber to flinch from her perch on Stiles' lap as they all looked up at the old man who was decidedly not thirty year old Principal Thomas whom they'd been expecting, "Come on in." The old man summoned.
Amber scrambled to her feet and the boys followed suit, the three of them looking between one another in confusion as they followed behind the man and stepped into the principal's office.
There were three chairs waiting for them in the small room and Amber settled into the center seat with a nervous breath, looking around the office and frowning at the absence of their usual principal's things.
The older man settled into the seat behind the desk and picked up a small folder, peering inside for a moment before his gaze rose to examine Scott.
"Scott McCall," He drawled in a slow rasp, "Academically not the most accomplished.. But I see you have become quite the star athlete." He said, soundly mildly impressed.
Amber peeked over at her friend and watched Scott nod just before the old man picked up a new folder and spoke again, addressing her this time.
"Amber Callisto," He read off the top of the page, eyes lifting up to look at her with an indiscernible expression, "A 4.0 GPA and first line on the girl's soccer team." He commended in approval.
She nodded nervously at his assessment, picking anxiously at her thumbnail in her lap. She slumped in relief when he dropped her folder atop Scott's and moved on to another. She watched the old man squint at the page silently for a few seconds, undoubtedly trying to figure out how to pronounce the name at the top of the page.
"Mieczysław." She supplied quietly after a moment, unaware of the way Stiles' eyes snapped over to her in awe at the easy way the pronunciation slipped past her lips.
The old man behind the principal's desk looked between the girl and the folder in his hands for only a second before he turned his attention toward Stiles.
"Mr. Stilinski," The man addressed him finally, eyes dropping to look down the page, "Oh. Perfect grades," He assessed with an impressed eyebrow raise, "But little to no extracurriculars.. Maybe you should try lacrosse."
Stiles leaned forward in his chair, "Oh, um. Actually, I'm alr-"
"Hold on-" The older man interrupted, turning his attention back toward Scott, "McCall.. You're the Scott that was dating my granddaughter."
"Granddaughter?" Amber repeated quietly, sitting up straighter in her seat as she looked between her two best friends in surprise.
"We were dating," Scott told Allison's grandfather quickly, "But not anymore. Not dating. Not seeing any of each other, or doing anything with each other.. At all." He rambled nervously.
"Relax, Scott. You look like you're about to crack a cyanide pill with your teeth." The older Argent observed amusedly.
Scott took a nervous breath, "Just, a hard breakup."
"Oh, that's too bad. You seem like a pretty nice kid to me." The old man commented, pausing for a moment before turning his head to look between the three teens, "Now, listen guys. Yes, I am the principal. But I don't really want you to think of me as the enemy."
"Heh," Stiles huffed sarcastically, "Is that so?"
Amber reached across the small gap between them to smack his arm anxiously, glaring at his lack of verbal self-control.
The old man raised his eyebrows before continuing on as if nothing had happened, "However, this being my first day, I do need to support my teachers, so.. Unfortunately, someone will have to take the fall and stay behind today for detention." Principal Argent looked between them slowly, pursing his lips as he waited for someone to speak up.
Amber turned her head between her two friends slowly. Scott was giving her a look in silent objection to doing it himself, which she supposed made sense since he was the werewolf of the three of them and thus slightly better equipped to deal with the Isaac situation. Her gaze drifted to her other side and she watched Stiles distractedly picking at a hangnail on his thumb and making no move to speak up himself.
His attention snapped up, however, when she finally sighed and turned to face the principal in slow reluctance.
"I-" She started.
"It was me." Stiles announced quickly, "Yeah, I'll stay for detention."
Tumblr media
At the end of the school day, Amber ran down the hall when she saw Scott take off down the stairs.
"No, no," She muttered to herself, pushing past a few students with mumbled apologies as she ran after her best friend, "Scott, wait up!" She yelled with the hope he'd be paying enough attention to hear her.
She stumbled down the staircase near the school's side entrance, nearly losing her footing a couple of times. When she got to the end of the hallway, she pushed through the metal doors and toppled outside, running straight into Scott's back and catching herself with her hands on his shoulders.
She spotted the Sheriff's cruiser finally pulling away from the school, Isaac Lahey looking out the back window at them worriedly.
"Oh, shit." She muttered, "I guess they think he might've done it?" She questioned, not really expecting an answer.
Scott looked down at her with wide eyes and she grimaced, unsure what to do next.
There was a sudden squeal of tires against the pavement as a familiar black Camaro skidded to a stop in front of the building.
Derek leaned toward the open passenger window and called out to them, "Get in. Both of you."
"Funny. I could've sworn you didn't need my help." Amber reminded him snarkily.
"This is your fault!" Scott snapped at Derek from beside her, pointing at the police cruiser that was pulling out onto the main road, "You did that."
"I know." Derek said generically to the both of them, "Now get in the car and help me."
"No, I've got a better idea," Scott said as the two of them walked closer to the idling car, "I'm gonna call a lawyer, because a lawyer might actually have a chance of getting him out before the full moon."
Amber raised her eyebrows at the decent suggestion from her best friend, lifting a thumb to point at Scott while sending Derek a nod of agreement.
Derek shook his head, "Not once they do real search of the house."
"What d'you mean?" Amber questioned.
He sighed, "Whatever Jackson said to the cops, what's in the house is worse. A lot worse."
Her stomach turned uncomfortably, mind racing as Derek threw the passenger door open and looked at them expectantly. She met Scott's gaze and he sighed with a frown, dropping a hand between her shoulder blades to guide her into the backseat of the car.
Tumblr media
It didn't take long for nightfall to set in beneath the early winter sunset once they pulled up to the Lahey house. Under the cover of the darkness, they crept into the house, their path dimly lit by the flashlight Derek had handed off to Scott.
"I thought Isaac was supposed to be a safe bet?" Amber asked Derek quietly as they moved through the dark front hallway, "What happened to that, huh? He's a werewolf for less than a day and he kills his dad?"
"Isaac didn't kill him. He told me he didn't." Derek said assuredly.
"Well if he didn't, then who did?" Scott asked, turning back toward them in the dark as he walked.
Derek frowned, eyebrows furrowing in frustration, "I don't know yet."
"Well then how d'you know he's telling the truth?" Scott questioned disbelievingly.
"Because I trust my senses," Derek said easily, "It's a combination of them, not just your.. Sense of smell." He emphasized with a knowing look.
"Huh?" Amber asked in confusion, looking between Derek's raised eyebrows and Scott's ashamed grimace, "What did you do? What'd I miss?"
"You.. Saw the lacrosse thing today." Scott realized quietly, focused on Derek.
"What lacrosse thing?"
"Yeah." Derek told Scott, unimpressed.
"Did it look that bad?" Scott questioned.
"Yeah." Derek repeated.
"Wh- What lacrosse thing?" Amber asked again desperately.
Scott winced, "Stiles got me in goal, so I could sniff some of the guys on the team, so that I could-" He caught her incredulous look and continued dejectedly, "So I could figure out who the new werewolf was. By scent."
"Dear God, Scott." She breathed, patting his shoulder.
"I was surprised you didn't tell them about Isaac." Derek commented to the girl as they approached a closed door off of the kitchen and slowed to a stop.
"Yeah, well. I trusted that you knew what you were doing," She scowled at him in the dark, "Evidently that was a mistake." She said pointedly.
Derek shook his head, resting on hand on her shoulder as he pulled open the door in front of them, revealing a dark stairwell that led down into the basement. He turned his attention toward Scott, grabbing the flashlight and nodding toward the open doorway.
"You wanna learn?" Derek prompted, "Let's start now."
"What's down there?" Amber asked nervously, following behind Scott as he began to descend the stairs.
"Motive." Derek said simply.
"And what am I looking for?" Scott asked as he got to the bottom of the stairs and looked around.
"Follow your senses." Derek told him.
Amber examined the dark cellar with slow steps, squinting at the mess of old furniture and stored junk. She fought the urge to run her finger through the dust on the worktop along the wall, turning in a slow spin as she looked around. Her eyes caught on a large chest freezer that was unplugged from the wall and she frowned at it in confusion.
"What happened down here?" Scott asked.
"The kind of thing that leaves an impression." Derek answered ominously.
Amber felt the warmth of Scott's body when he came to stand beside her in the cool basement. He too frowned as he looked down at the freezer in front of them. Her hand trailed over the top of it, fingers toying gently at the open padlock secured to the front. Scott pulled the lock into his own hand and he let out a shaky breath as his fingers came into contact with the metal.
Just as she was about to question his reaction, Derek shined the flashlight in their direction and spoke up from behind them.
"Open it."
Scott unhooked the padlock from the staple and flipped the hatch before slowly lifting the lid to the freezer. Derek helpfully shined the flashlight around the inside of the chest and Amber gasped, her stomach twisting sickeningly as her eyes took in the sight in front of them.
The inside of the freezer was covered in small, shallow, very human, claw marks. Someone had raked their fingernails along the walls and the top of the freezer in deep scratches. There was red caked into some of the gouges where fingertips had bled as they'd scratched painfully against the hard plastic.
"God." Amber whispered, reaching out to touch one of the marks gently, her fingertip running over the indents on the inside of the lid. She turned to Derek with a horrified look, "Isaac's dad locked him in here?"
Derek nodded, "Among other things."
"This is why he said yes to you." Scott stated, turning to look at Derek.
"Everyone wants power." Derek told him.
"If- If we help you, then you have to stop," Scott demanded, "You can't just go around turning people into werewolves."
Derek looked at him incredulously, "I can if they're willing."
"Did you tell Isaac about the Argents? About being hunted?" Scott questioned.
"Yes," Derek replied, "And he still asked."
"Then he's an idiot!" Scott snapped.
"And you're the idiot dating Argent's daughter." Derek raised his eyebrows when Scott looked at him in surprise, "Yeah. I know your little secret. And if I know, how long do you think it's gonna take for them to find out?" He asked, "You saw what happens to an Omega."
"Wait, what Omega?" Amber interjected, "There was an Omega? What happened to them?"
"The Argents cut him in half." Derek explained quickly. He moved to speak again and Amber gaped, looking between the two werewolves.
"What!" She squeaked, "Th- They.. When- Who-"
"The Omega was the one stealing and eating the organs. At the graveyard, the ambulance-"
"We- We desperately need to work on your information redistribution skills." Amber told Scott in disbelief.
"Enough." Derek interrupted before focusing on Scott, "With me, you learn how to use all your senses. With me, you learn control." He stepped closer to them and grabbed Scott's hand, lifting it as the boy's claws emerged with his budding anger, "Even on a full moon."
Scott pulled his hand from Derek's grip, "If I'm with you, I lose Allison."
"You're gonna lose her anyway." Derek told him, "You know that."
A moment of silence passed before Scott spoke, "I'm not part of your pack. But I want Isaac out. He's my responsibility too."
"Why?" Derek questioned, "Because he's one of us?"
Scott shook his head, "No. Because he's innocent."
"So, what do we do?" Amber asked after another few moments of silence between the two boys.
"We need to break Isaac out." Derek said simply.
"But Stiles and I were gonna lock Scott up at the school." She stated, looking over at her best friend worriedly, "How are we gonna get Isaac out of a cell and get you taken care of?"
"I'll have Alison lock me up." Scott told her easily. She frowned and he continued, "It'll be fine, I promise. I can have her lock me up down here."
Her eyes drifted back down to the freezer and her stomach churned nauseatingly at the thought of her best friend locked inside, "I don't know, Scott-"
"Look, there's no time to come up with anything else. We have to do this." Scott reached out to squeeze her shoulder reassuringly, "You and Stiles help Derek get Isaac out. I'll be here. And when the moon goes back down, Allison will let me out."
She frowned but nodded at him, even as her eyes drifted back down to the freezer, "Okay."
She reached into her pocket to pull out her phone, sending a few texts to Stiles to explain the plan and telling him to meet them at the Sheriff's Station. When she was finished, Derek gestured for her to follow him back upstairs and she looked between the two boys hesitantly before throwing her arms around her best friend in a quick hug.
"I love you." She told Scott softly, hand ruffling the fluffy hair on the back of his head, "I'm sorry we can't be here with you."
She pulled back and Scott released her with a small reassuring smile, "Dude, I'll be fine." He promised, "It's just one full moon."
She frowned as she recalled the last two full moons they'd experienced and Scott grimaced.
"This time will be different. I'm sure of it." He said.
Derek reached out to grab her shoulder and she let out a long-suffering sigh, "Alright, yes. I'm coming." She said, taking a step back toward the stairs with the older werewolf.
"Good luck." Scott called out in a hopeful tone.
"You too." She replied, shooting him one last look before she climbed the stairs back up to the main floor.

Stiles threw the Jeep into park outside the Sheriff's Station and Amber climbed into the vehicle quickly, Derek following close behind. As soon as she was settled into the center seat, Stiles reached out to take her hand in his, already angled toward them in his own seat with an elbow propped up on the steering wheel.
"What's the plan?" She asked him automatically.
"Okay, well. The keys to every cell are in a password protected lock box in my father's office," He explained, looking between Derek and the girl sitting between them, "The problem is getting past the front desk."
They all turned to peer out the passenger window at the young female deputy behind the desk who was typing away at a computer.
Amber chewed on her lip in thought, "Well, I could-"
"I'll distract her." Derek said easily, already reaching for the door handle.
"Woah, woah, woah! You?" Stiles asked incredulously, reaching across the cab of the vehicle to pull Derek back, "You're not going in there-"
Derek scowled at the hand Stiles still had stretched across Amber's chest to hold the werewolf's shoulder.
"I'm taking my hand off-" Stiles conceded quickly, dropping it to land in Amber's lap.
She let Stiles rest his hand palm down over her denim-clad thigh and rubbed her own hand over the backs of his fingers soothingly as Derek continued to glare at the boy. The werewolf's narrowed eyes dropped to where Stiles' hand was now draped over the girl's leg before he looked back up to address them.
"I was exonerated." He reminded them.
"You're still technically a person of interest." Amber shrugged with a wince.
"An innocent person." Derek reiterated.
"An inno- You?" Stiles scoffed, laughing sarcastically, "Yeah, right!"
Derek's jaw clenched as he looked between them, thoroughly unimpressed.
"Okay, fine," Stiles sighed, "What's your plan?"
Derek looked genuinely stunned at the question, "To distract her." He said slowly.
Amber snorted, "Okay, but how?"
Stiles looked at Derek in disbelief, "Uh huh. How?" He questioned, "By.. Punching her in the face?"
"Ha." Derek said sarcastically, "By talking to her."
"Oh! Gimme a sample." Amber suggested excitedly, turning toward Derek, "Pretend I'm her. What're you gonna say?"
Derek tightened his jaw silently and looked between them with his eyebrows raised and a long moment passed before Stiles spoke.
"Dead silence.. That should work beautifully." He observed sarcastically, "Any other ideas?"
Derek looked up at the roof of the Jeep and tilted his head in thought with a small shrug, "I'm thinking about punching you in the face." He admitted.
"Okay, alright. No one is punching anyone in the face." Amber interrupted, turning and pushing her hands up against Stiles' chest to urge him out the driver's side door, "Let's just.. Get inside. I'm sure Derek will figure something out."
"Yeah, we better hope so." Stiles muttered under his breath as he opened the door of the Jeep.
The three of them snuck in quietly through the front entrance and while Derek went through the main doors and up to the front desk, Amber and Stiles peered around the doorway to wait for an opportunity to pass through the without being seen.
"Hi, how can I help-" The deputy looked up from the folder in her hands and caught sight of where Derek was leaning up against the desk with a charming smile, "-You?" She finished weakly.
"Hi." Derek smiled, teeth on display and pulling his handsome features into an open, friendly expression.
"Hi." The woman breathed, stunned.
Stiles rolled his eyes in annoyance at how easily Derek's plan seemed to be working due to his good looks alone, and Amber reached up to pat him on the back consolingly.
"Um. I had a question," Derek said in feigned distraction, "Uh, sorry. I'm a little- A little thrown."
Amber urged Stiles forward with her hand on his back and they took slow, careful steps through the main entrance toward the back hall as Derek continued.
"I wasn't really expecting someone-"
"Like me?" The deputy asked softly.
"Well, I was gonna say, 'someone so incredibly beautiful' but I guess that'd mean the same thing." Derek flirted just as Amber and Stiles disappeared down the hall.
Stiles took her hand and led her down the hall toward his father's office, leaving the lights off as they crept into the room. When they got to a small lockbox hanging on the wall behind his dad's desk, Stiles dropped her hand to flip the cover up and reveal the keypad, his thumb quickly moving to type in the code, a quiet clicking filling the room with the press of each button.
2 - 6 - 1 - 9 - 9 - 1
The tiny door on the box opened with the release of the lock, but the space inside was decidedly empty.
"Isn't there supposed to be a set of keys in there?" Amber questioned obviously.
"Yeah." Stiles murmured, looking at the empty box in disbelief, "Oh, no. Allison was supposed to- Oh, no."
Amber dashed back toward the door and Stiles followed only half a second behind her. They stumbled out into the hallway and moved in the direction of the holding cells at the back of the building.
When they rounded one of the final turns, Amber tripped over her own feet in surprise and froze as they came face to face with another uniformed deputy. Stiles nearly rammed into her back when he stopped abruptly behind her and she took another cautious step forward, laughing awkwardly and feigning innocence.
"Uh, we were just looking for, uh-" Stiles trailed off.
Amber followed his eyeline down to the small syringe in the man's hand and their eyes widened in realization.
Not a deputy. A hunter.
Upon further inspection, the man was also bleeding badly from a small arrow wound in his upper thigh.
"Oh, shit." Amber and Stiles both muttered, the latter pulling on her shoulder as he started to step away.
As they spun the hunter managed to grab Stiles around his chest, knocking the boy from his feet so that he dragged along the ground backwards. In the same quick moment, the man caught a handful of Amber's hair and yanked her back with them.
Still on her feet, she yelped and stumbled backwards as she followed the painful tugging of the hunter's fist in her hair and she could hear Stiles struggling against the man's tight, one armed grip around his chest as he tried in vain to get his own feet back underneath him.
Amber whined quietly as they were dragged around a corner and her eyes caught on the fire alarm on the wall. They moved further down the hall and she flailed her arms, her fingers managing to catch on the small red lever and pulling on it roughly just as she was yanked away.
A shrill alarm sounded out through the building as the hunter threw them into the back room of holding cells and he released them carelessly. Amber gasped as her hair was finally freed and she instinctively reached up toward the sore spot on her scalp as Stiles fell to the ground.
The hunter fiddled with the syringe of wolfsbane in his hand and Amber caught the moment that the man's eyes drifted up to where the holding cell's door was already broken and swung open.
"Shit-" She exclaimed just as Isaac growled loudly and tackled the hunter beside her down against the desk at the front of the room.
She stumbled back a step where she tripped over Stiles' feet and tumbled to the ground beside him, landing painfully on her backside. He grabbed onto her arm and pulled her back along the floor as Isaac threw the hunter against a wall.
The hunter went to thrust the syringe into Isaac's shoulder but his arm was caught by the werewolf with another angry growl.
As soon as she was close enough, Stiles wrapped an arm around her stomach from behind, pulling her between his legs as he continued to scramble backwards. She fell back against his chest and they finally came to a stop when they thumped against the wall on the opposite side of the room.
They watched with wide eyes as Isaac gripped the hunter's head in his hand, slamming it back with a loud crack and dropping the hunter in a heap onto the ground.
Derek finally ran into the back room and stopped in the center of the space, stomping down on the forgotten vial of poison on the ground and causing it to shatter loudly beneath his foot. At the sound, the younger werewolf turned suddenly and Isaac's attention was drawn to the two teens on the floor as he growled again.
Amber pressed herself back against Stiles more firmly and her heart raced violently in her chest in fear. Isaac's clawed hands twitched at his sides and he stepped toward them with a low rumbling sound in his throat, eyes still glowing bright gold.
Derek side-stepped in a quick movement to block the path to them and he growled loudly in Isaac's direction, the sound rumbling and furious. The younger werewolf whined, falling to the ground on the other side of the room as his arms came up above his head to protect himself from an anticipated blow. After a second, Isaac looked back up from behind his shaking arms to he peek out at them, his face distinctly human once again.
Stiles was breathing heavily against the back of Amber's neck, arm still wrapped tightly around her stomach as he held her against his chest.
"H- How did you do that?" He asked Derek.
The older werewolf turned slowly to look down at them, "I'm the Alpha." He supplied as explanation.
Isaac flinched when Derek went over and held out a hand in offering to help him to his feet. Without a word of goodbye, Derek led Isaac out of the back room and the two were gone.
Amber scrambled to get to her feet in their absence, pulling Stiles up with her before spinning around to face him.
"Are you okay?" They asked each other at the same time with worried expressions.
She laughed quietly and Stiles brought a hand up to the back of her head, gently smoothing down the mess where the hunter's hand had been fisted in her hair.
She placed a hand on his cheek and stroked her thumb over his mouth softly, "How exactly are we gonna explain this?" She asked suddenly.
He dropped his hand from the back of her head and tangled their fingers together with a frown, "Shit. I actually hadn't thought that far ahead yet."
"That's okay. We'll uh, we'll just say that we came to see your dad.. And we'll explain that, y'know.." Her eyes drifted over to the hunter, "That guy must've broken in disguised as a deputy, attacked us, and let Isaac out." She said quickly, "I mean.. That- That's somewhat believable, right?"
She looked up at Stiles with wide eyes and he made a face as he very clearly tried to think of something better. His fingers tightened around hers and suddenly the fire alarm cut off, plunging the building into a silence that left their ears ringing.
Stiles opened his mouth to say something but didn't get a chance to speak before his father stepped into the back room. The Sheriff looked between them, the uniformed man sprawled beside the wall, and the empty holding cell at the back of the room. His eyes narrowed in an angry glare of disbelief as he took in the scene in front of him.
"Uh," Stiles swallowed heavily, pointing toward the unconscious hunter in a deputies uniform, "He did it."

Take a look at the FHW universe yourself during a short training session with Miles. The experienced veteran wants to help you get back to your full potential. He's been nice to you since you joined the company, a real friend so far. <3 Read it here under the cut or on AO3.

Miles in all his glory was brought to life with this picture by @westealtoys. (Still a WIP but a great one)
Don't get distracted during training
It's just training, you keep telling yourself. You've trained with Miles many times, you've felt his hands on your body as you've practiced holds. Yet you feel your pulse racing in your head every time he touches you.
Why do you notice how damn hot he is every time you look at him? Those mountains of muscle flexing under his dark skin with every move. Not as defined as in his bodybuilder days, now the curves of his muscles are softer, covered in a soft layer that your hands sink into slightly when you grab him.
Concentrate, you must concentrate. He will grab your arm and bend down so you can roll over his shoulders and counter his hold.
Grab - roll - damn it, you've gone too high, your fingers get tangled in his hairband instead of wrapping tightly around his strong neck. You slip and fall onto your back right in front of him. He gives in to the rough tugging on his hair, drops to his knees with you, and comes right on top of you.
You release your fingers, and his loose ponytail opens completely, dropping his long box braids into your face. Only now do you realize that only a few inches separate your faces. Your throat tightens, heat creeps into your cheeks, and you hope he doesn't notice that you're blushing.
Miles licks his thin lips almost imperceptibly, sending a wave of rapture through your body, and you react almost too late when he asks, "Are you okay?"
"Yes, I got distracted for a moment, I'm sorry," you stammer embarrassedly, clearing your throat to regain the strength in your voice.
"See, that happens to the best of us," Miles says gently, giving you a teasing wink. He slowly stands and his fingers slide across your chest. The delicate touch makes you shiver, and you wonder if that was his intention. You're sure he didn't need to touch you to get up.
Distracted by the long, slightly silver interwoven hair that fall down over his strong neck muscle to his chest, you take his helpfully outstretched hand a heartbeat later than you intended. Judging by his grin, he noticed you staring at him.
With a strong tug, he pulls you to your feet, so hard that you bounce lightly against his chest before regaining your balance.
"You're putting too much pressure on yourself, just because you've been on the big stages doesn't mean you can't make mistakes," he says encouragingly.
"Do you say that to everyone or just to me? I remember you saying, 'your mistakes are other people's injuries'," you reply, unable to stop grinning like an idiot despite the important topic.
"Both are true. We have responsibilities, but we're still human. You're talented and have everything a star needs. You just need to get your confidence back. Too much pressure and perfectionism can lead to more serious mistakes than getting caught in a hair band."
You swallow as he mentions serious mistakes. Suddenly, his hand squeezes your forearm in encouragement, and you notice that neither of you let go of the other after you stood up. Is this on purpose? Maybe you wish it were, but maybe it's just his willingness to help.
You need more clarity before your flushed cheeks turn too obviously red. "If you keep being so nice and flattering, I might think you're flirting with me."
"What if I am?" He says smoothly, and your heart skips a beat in your chest. You're glad he's still holding your forearm and squeeze it tighter before the lightness in your head makes you sway.

may we have some platonic headcanons where the reader (gender neutral) is a teenager that Cassidy accidentally adopted (we know the trope) and thanks to his influence is just as much of a menace to Ashe as he is (maybe somehow even more)?
please, and thank you
Headcanons: Cole Cassidy with a GN! Teen! Reader (Platonic)
A/N: Sorry this took a while, I am not good at writing parent/child relationships at all so hopefully it doesn't suck ass lmao. hope you enjoy! :]
Word Count:491 Warnings: none, literally just familial fluff
Tumblr media
Being Cass' "adopted" child would be… chaotic, to say the least.
But like a fun chaotic!
During what is essentially an escort mission followed by a rescue from a dangerous villain, Cassidy and you would go from wary friends to a father and child dynamic duo.
He'd pretty much be like "You're my kid now! :D" and you'd be like "Okay, cool! :D"
He would bring you to Gibraltar and introduce you to all new and old Overwatch members, who would almost instantly welcome you like an old friend.
He wouldn't necessarily want you to become part of Overwatch, but he'd still teach you some gunslinging and other skills to keep yourself safe should a disaster ever occur when he's away from you.
And when he isn't busy with Overwatch work, he would love to do all the typical father things with you.
Having movie nights on a big comfy couch, going to Route 66 and teaching you to ride a motorbike, taking you to school, like whatever you can think of, Cassidy is by your side every step of the way.
He especially loves the times when your as much of a gremlin towards Ashe and others as he is, it secretly makes him proud to have someone to carry on that legacy.
Cole takes notice of things you like to do or watch and actively tries to show an interest in them, even if they aren't really his thing.
You appreciate the sentiment though and always give him a great big hug as thanks before you both decide to do something you both enjoy instead.
Sometimes for fun, you'll steal his cape/poncho and boots while he's napping and strut around the Watchpoint compound while imitating him to make the others laugh.
Each time he realizes what's going on, he'll leap out of his bunk and go chase you around while half-heartedly scolding you with a large smile on both of your faces.
After the most recent incident, he'll buy or find you a hat that matches his own just so you stop stealing his stuff.
And if you were ever sick or feeling down, he would drop everything to help nurse you back to your regular self, even if it was something small like a sneeze or scraping your knee after you trip.
He is very protective of you, but not in a helicopter parent way but in like a "just wanna make sure you're doing okay then I'll go" kind of way.
Of course, there are times like that when he's a little too obvious about sneaking around to protect you, which causes some tension between you two.
You maybe butt heads and start to argue about the way he goes about it but after the fighting stops and you both cool off for a while, you're able to smoothly forgive and forget.
All in all, Cassidy may be a great cowboy, but he's an even better dad.
