Touchstarved character name meanings!

Lemme preface this by saying I’m not a name meanings expert I just love crawling through google pages and over analyzing things ALSO to make sure the results weren’t influenced by fandom everything here is from pre-2020! With that let’s get into things!

Mhin:

Mhin is a little bit tricky, as I can’t find anything for their name spelled as it is. Min, however, has several different sources and meanings.

In Chinese, Min (敏) meanings “quick, clever, sharp” Which seems rather fitting for our neighborhood soulless hunter. An alternative script for Min (民) translates to “people, citizens” which could have some interesting implications, as Mhin is implied to have strong connections to the city of Lovent.

In Burmese Min means “king, ruler” which, connected with the second Chinese translation, could perhaps be some foreshadowing? We don’t know how Mhin is connected to Lovent, but the city must have had a ruling class, perhaps Mhin held a position of power? It could also be why they survived, and which a powerful curse nonetheless

Finally, in Irish Min is said to mean “smooth, fine, small”, though I can’t find as many sources on this one. I include it because people have pointed out Mhin’s cloak pins are triquetra, which are Celtic symbols.

Kuras:

Please know I adore Kuras when I say this, but he really got the short end of the naming stick it seems. The most promising thing I can find is the usage as a Hindi surname, which doesn’t seem to have a meaning listed. If you remove the S and go with Kura, it can mean “river” in Turkish or possibly “fierceness, tiger” in Japanese.

Now here’s the silly translations! In Arabic, Kuras (كراس) seems to translate to brochure. In polish, it translates to chicken.

I truly doubt the devs thought brochure/chicken were good labels for the dear doctor, so I’m favoring the Turkish translation. Mostly because Eridia is a city divided by a river; could there be something deeper hidden in there? Maybe!

Ais:

So clearly Ais has a lot of Japanese influence, with his design being inspired by Oni, so I looked for those possible translations first. Ai (愛) translates to love in Japanese, and is typically used as a broader term to refer to emotions tied to like compassion, empathy, or platonic forms of love (as opposed to 恋/koi which refers to romantic love).

I’m gonna focus on this translation for a bit. Someone on a translation forum phrased it in a way I really love: “Ai” is something you do or give. Ais is our introduction to the Seaspring, and to groupminds in general. While the concept of a hivemind is usually used in horror as a way of taking away agency, the Seaspring is framed as a refuge for people to turn to. Could Ais’ name be an allusion to a goal he keeps hidden? Is the Seaspring a manifestation of a desire to give love despite the violent world? Or am I just reading into this too deep?

Vere:

Vere actually has a straight up name meaning! Most of the sources I found say that Vere is a French/Gaulish name meaning “Alder”, and it usually pops up in the surname “De Vere”. Alders are a kind of bitch tree, and I have no idea how that tie into Vere as a character.

But if we take “Vere” as a word rather then a name, then Latin translates it as meaning “truly, really, actually, rightly”. Vere’s introduction to us is as someone to not trust, a cunning fox waiting for the next meal, stealing our darn room key and lying about it! So I find it really interesting that his name could be a word for truth. Perhaps before his chains Vere was someone a lot more truthful ?

Leander:

Big shout out to Leander for having a plain ass easy to translate name. I’ll give you googles exact definition here: "lion of a man", from leon, "lion", and andros, "man".

That was easy, so now let’s pick it apart!

Traditionally, lions are symbols of nobility, courage, strength, and protection. Leander has a reputation for being That Guy; he’s a leader, a protector of the masses, etc etc. for all intents and purposes, Leander really is a lion of a man!

…On the surface at least. Because under all the symbolism, lions are still predators, no matter how noble.

Yandere Childe! becomes more interested in you after that incident keeps apologizing about what happened before and keeps asking you to fight him. To strangle him with your thigh again.

Yandere Childe! who keeps dreaming about the incident and just wants to be in that position again. in between your plush thigh. starts to be more and more interested in your life for some reason

Yandere Childe! who keeps checking you out every time you are there or its therapy session.

Yandere Childe! Who keeps asking you if you have a boyfriend or husband, if you do what they look like, what are their names, The more he is around you the more his questions become personal and creepy.

Yandere Childe! who for some reason starts to become healthy again, and starts to work out inside his jail. starts to show off his hard work abs and all, for some reason starts to become more and more touchy and just keeps asking you to be inside in a room again promising to not hurt you ever again.

Yandere Childe! who now shamelessly dirty talks to you and keeps talking about everything like I mean every thing in his life and how he was obsessed and why he did all of it.

Being one of Yuji's closest friends you've seen his "roommate" as you like to call him, every once in awhile. He would always leave his room to grab something to eat or such whenever you were hanging out with your pink haired friend.

Today you finally had the courage to ask who he was. You and Yuji are sitting very close on his couch, practically cuddling, while watching Inuyasha on Netflix when you suddenly ask, "Hey Yuji, who's that black haired guy who lives with you?"

He doesn't turn his attention away from the tv but instead answers you with, "you know how I told you I have a brother?"

He notices you nodding in his peripheral vision. "Yeah, well that's my older half brother Choso."

"Oh.. I thought he was like your roommate or something." Yuji chuckles, "haha.. technically yeah. I'm crashing with him until I get a place of my own. He doesn't mind though."

This whole time you thought this was Yuji's place, but it does make sense. Yuji's been job-hopping lately. He hasn't had a stable career in seven months.

And speak of the devil, Choso came out of his room without a shirt on, he passes by the two of you on his way to the kitchen then he stops, "Sesshomaru is the best character."

The two brothers argued about this for twenty minutes. Apparently it's a hot take in their house hold. "Inuyasha is obviously better than his older brother!" Yuji yells for the 9th time.

"Sesshomaru is cooler, and has a better understanding of the world. Like me. You only like Inuyasha because you're a younger brother." What he's saying actually does make some sense.

"Yuji, I have to agree with your brother. On top of Sesshomaru being smarter he's also hotter." Yuji looks betrayed in a playful way.

"What?? Oh come on! Not you too. Might as well go hang out with my brother, you traitor." Yuji isn't serious about the offer but Choso makes the offer real.

"I mean, if you're not opposed to it we can hang out? I don't mind joining you two." He's standing closer to the couch now with a mug of tea in his hand.

His shirtless body does something to you, because your mouth hangs open trying to form a response but you close it again not knowing what to say.

"We're good thanks! Go on back to your cave, Batman!" Yuji rolls his eyes trying to get his brother to leave.

"I was asking her, dumbass. Not you." He says getting close enough to kick Yuji and the younger retaliates by trying to block it.

"Um sure, you can hang out with us." You mumble and Yuji whines in defeat.

"Seriously?! I'm your friend not him!!" To your ears it sound like the pink haired boy is jealous.

"Scoot over Yuji. I'll sit in the middle." Choso says with a smirk on his face.

"Nuh-uh! I'm sitting next to [name] you don't even know her like that!!"

That was the first time you'd hung out with Choso Kamo.

That was about four months ago, as of current, you're sitting on Choso's bed waiting for him to grab the snacks you two bought a few hours ago.

Yuji's started working a night job so you usually hang out with Choso until he gets off of work.

You told him it was a mistake on his behalf because now you make yourself comfortable in his bed any time you come over.

"Do you wanna finish that show we were watching?" You turn to him and catch him staring at you. He quickly turns away and fakes a cough. You've been wondering if your accusations were true.

Yuji tells you that all his brother wants to talk about now is you. Yuji suspects his brother has a crush on you, but when he confronted him the gloomy looking male denied it. Yuji doesn't know that you like Choso.

"Yeah sure, do you wanna, like, cuddle? Platonically, though." You wonder if he's making it clear for you that he doesn't like you or he's just trying to keep you from becoming uncomfortable.

"What if I wanted to cuddle romantically??" You ask with a sudden sprout of bravery.

"Um.. I'd be okay with that, heh." He says shyly, you noticed how his face slightly turned red.

"I like hanging out with you, Cho." You crawl into his lap and he wraps his arms around you. He places his head in the crook of your neck and breathes in deeply.

This is major spoilers for season 3 territory. You have been warned. I'm also going to split this into parts because wow, I have so many ✨Clues✨! Come with me on a long and magical journey through time, and trust that I will bring you back to the double meaning of it all very soon.

The second thing that Oofs and Ouches my Bones specifically about the art direction in S2 are the time/place cards. You know, the good old rope and stick cards we all know and love are back in S2E1! - wait a minute...

Oh. Okay. I guess we're going with a huge organ swell happening in the music at the same time as a gothic font. Seems... awfully religious of them. Let's try again. S2E2?

Oh shit. 1950s classic Hollywood biblical epic title cards? Really? Okay. But we've already been to London in 1941 in S1 so surely they would just use the same exact title card as last season because it's the SAME SCENE in S2E4 and-

OH GOD it's a black and white classic horror flick! Be afraid! Cower in fear from the zombies that eat brains. So...I think we're getting a feeling this season that they massively changed up the art direction for the all the Minisode title cards. Except did they? Wait, how did the Resurectionists Minisode start?

That seems... very normal. No crazy "Hollywood" title cards here. And they just punted all the classic rope and stick cards that tell us when and where everything takes place in the whole season?

They did not. Y'all there are TWO competing ways of showing the audience Time/Place going on in the same episodes. One is canonically familiar, and the other is new, and very *hack-esque*. If only there was another reference to classic cinema somewhere in the title sequence of each episode to explain what was going on with these things AHHHHHHH-

(If you haven't watched till the end of the opening credits) There's a dude with a big stick waving something in front of the projector in the booth each episode, and presumably this has an impact on what we see on the literal movie screen projecting bits of the story in front of us. So what do we see in front of us from the projector each episode, exactly?

Well for one, we can certainly see that Neil Gaiman found a really interesting place to put his name in the openings... right over a lot of the fishy things in each minisode is a FUN WAY TO DO LAMPSHADING, NEIL. At this point you're screaming at me "But what does this have to do with the gangsters, and Maggie, and everything else?" My friend, I am here to tell you that I'm starting to get the feeling The Metatron has been adding bits and pieces (not very well, mind you, he's a hack writer) to change the outcome of season 2.

a/n: ahhhhhhh here it is!!! anon, I hope you like it and that I did your request justice, If I didn't, please feel free to send it to other writers so they can!! but this was the most I've written in AGES, so even if you don't like it, thank you for helping me actually write! the scenes in Italic are flashbacks, and im really hoping this plot isn't too confusing?? also, I struggled so hard for a title for this... why are titles so hard??? if you hate it or have a better suggestion, I am OPEN. and finally, as usual, I do, in fact kinda hate this... here it is anyway y'all!!!

You stare at the reflection in front of you, the sparkles of your dress glimmer in the low light as you analyse your body. Something you know you shouldn't do, yet you do anyway. The cups of the dress accentuate your chest just the way it's meant to, and yet you don't think it looks right. The nude fabric below the glitter makes you look as if you were glowing from within, but to you, you felt like a knockoff Edward Cullen. The thin straps trail over your shoulders and cross over in the back. Most girls would feel beautiful and seductive, but all you could focus on was if your tan was even.

Behind you, your boyfriend of 6 months slides up and places his hands on your waist. “This is it,” you think, who else better to build your self-esteem than the man who should love you unconditionally, who should worship the ground you walk on and take any opportunity to gush over his beautiful girlfriend. It seems Cole just wasn't that type of boyfriend.

“Isn't this a bit much… I mean, it's a party at George’s for Charli's new album, you're not working the street corner outside. I don't need everyone to know what you look like when I fuck you.”

Oh.

You physically feel yourself deflate, your hands reach and cross over your stomach before sliding up to your chest. You look up at his face in the mirror. A sick smile graces his features as he laughs at his comment. 

Your fingers shake as you grip your shoulders, Cole grips one of your hands and slips his hand below your chin, forcing your face up to look at his in the mirror.

“You can wear it this once, baby, but after that, it needs to go - okay?” he says as if he's doing you a favour, and for some reason, you feel like he is. You nod and give him a small reassuring smile in the mirror that he returns before turning and leaving the room.

You stay standing, staring, analysing until Cole calls your name and you stumble to the door and out.

The bass rattled the door as you stood outside, the bottle of wine in your hand feeling far too formal once you swung it open and looked out on the sea at the half-drunk people.

A voice you recognised finally rang out from the crowd in front of you, "Y/n! Cole! Hi, come in" George ushered you in with a wave of his hand.

You smiled and went to hug George only for Cole's grip to tighten on your waist, you glance back at your boyfriend and scrunch your face in confusion at his actions. George looks at the pair of you questioningly but decides not to push it just smiling and graciously accepting the wine you hand to him. 

Charli soon appeared behind George and greeted you. She practically tore you out of Cole's grip and gave you a bone-crushing hug. Cole dragged you back and grabbed your hand as soon as you were back in reach, seemingly staking his claim.

Before long, Charli was dragging George off with a sly smile on her face, “Drinks are in the kitchen, Help yourselves!” George shouted as he was being pulled away by his doting girlfriend. 

You walk through the party staring around at the room full of people, Cole's hand is holding yours, and it feels as if your skin is burning. You are pretty sure you see Jack Antonoff somewhere in the crowd, but before you can look too closely, you hear a voice you know all too well travel from the kitchen.

“Well if it isn't the life of the party finally arriving,” Matty began, shamelessly staring you up and down, “y/n! My darling, how are you!” he said, very clearly ignoring the man currently gripping your hard so hard you're sure there will be finger-shaped bruises tomorrow.

You managed to wrench your hand away from Cole and stroll up to Matty, he wolf whistles as you walk across the kitchen to him and you feel your cheeks heat up at his shameless flirting. You try not to read too much into it, knowing what he's like.

Having been friends with Matty for the better part of a decade means you know what he's like, always ready to chat up anyone as soon as he gets a few drinks in him. Hell, you're pretty sure you've seen him trying to pull Ross on a few occasions when he'd had too many tequila shots.

“Wow darling, you have truly outdone yourself this time,” Matty said, his jaw practically on the ground. He stuck his hand out towards you indicating for you to grab it. You tentatively grip his hand only to be spun around on the spot by the curly-headed man. A light giggle escaped your lips and Matty felt his heart constrict on the spot.

Considering he was hopelessly and irrevocably in love with you, that was to be expected.

“This might be the best you've ever looked sweetheart, going to have men throwing themselves at you all night. Maybe a few girls too” Matty said, throwing you a wink with a teasing click of his tongue.

He actually wanted nothing less than to see men draping themselves over you but he couldn't help but compliment you whenever he got the chance, he always saw it as a way to confess his love without having to say those words.

Cole strolled over and pulled your hand out of Matty's grip, if you were honest you had forgotten you were holding it. It was then Matty realised there was indeed one thing worse than seeing men fawn over you, it was seeing your idiot boyfriend act like he owned you all night.

“Alright, Matty?” greeted Cole, clenching his teeth and nodding his head at the shorter man. The anger bubbling beneath the surface was clear to you and Matty, the latter couldn't help but get one last jab in at Cole.

“Hi, Cole.” Matty said dryly, “You are one lucky bastard mate, what other girl would dress this beautifully for a party at a friend's house” he finished his statement by throwing a smirk in your direction. 

You heard Cole mutter under his breath and tensed, knowing what was coming. Suddenly a gush of vitriol came spewing out your boyfriend's mouth directed at Matty. 

“Listen here you scrawny little shit-” began Cole leaning in and towering over the man below him who despite what was expected of him, stood his ground and started up at Cole with an unbothered look on his face. 

You quickly got between the two men, placing your hand on Cole's chest and pushing away. You could feel his rapidly beating heart beneath your palm, it scared you how familiar this situation was for you. Having pushed Cole away from far too many fights in your short relationship.

“Cole just leave it, Matty is my friend. Please don't be an asshole,” you say desperately staring up at the man in front of you, hoping your eye contact would calm him down.

“An asshole?” scoffed Cole condescendingly, “fuck you y/n, I can't deal with this prick any more. I'm leaving” Cole finished his sentence by storming off out the front door, slamming it behind him. Luckily the booming music meant no one saw his childish outburst.

Tears sprung to your eyes as you stared in the direction he left. Why the fuck did he act like this, you remember falling for him. He was the perfect man, with flowers and gifts all the time. He planned dates and surprised you all the time.

Yet as the months dragged on he became a man you didn't recognise. Slowly he became controlling, it started with small things, something as simple as what tea brand you buy but soon it changed into everything. What you wore, who you spoke to, when you went out. 

Your friends were drifting apart from you, but Cole assured you it was a good thing. They weren't worth your time anyway. When this invite came through, you almost immediately denied it, assuming Cole would never let you go, but to your shock, he agreed. What a good choice that seemed now.

You ran after your boyfriend, quickly followed by Matty close behind. You caught Cole’s shoulder as he walked over the grass outside George’s house. You briefly noticed how nice the flowers were, making a mental note to compliment them when you returned to the party.

Matty stood at the door watching you plead and beg your boyfriend to stay. Catching bits and pieces from where he stood, he began to walk closer when he saw Cole wrench his arm out of your grip for the third time, worried he was about to hurt you. 

“Please Cole it's just Matty being Matty. If you knew him like I do, you would know it means nothing. Please” you cried and begged the man in front of you, watching his nostrils flare and the vein in his forehead grow with each passing moment. 

“Oh fuck off y/n,” he spat angrily at you, “if you can't see that he's madly in fucking love with you then you're even more stupid than I thought.” he finished with a glare behind you and stormed off and this time you didn't follow. You stood in shock.

The cold air seemed to catch up to you then, the heat of the moment had been keeping you warm. The breeze blew through you as you curled in on yourself, tears streaming down your cheeks. A hand from behind reached forward and gripped your shoulder. You shrugged it off and turned around to see who it was, despite knowing exactly who you'd see.

“Dont touch me, Matty,” you say staring at him with a resentful tone to your voice, “Why do you do that. Why do you flirt with me when he's there. You know he gets jealous” you shout at the curly-headed man who scoffs and shakes his head at your comments.

“He gets jealous?” Matty shouts back incredulously, “he's a fucking dick y/n! All he does is put you down and walk around acting like he owns you! Why are you even with that asshole?” he finishes with a shout, his chest heaves with effort.

“It's not like I have many options is it Matty!?” you shout back, staring questioningly at the man a few feet in front of you. Matty stares back at you with a disbelieving look on his face, “Oh, don't look at me like that,” you say with a wave of your hand, “Am I just too unlovable, is that it?! Am I just so inherently unlovable that I'm stuck with men like that my whole life?!” you scream at him, black tears drip off your chin onto the ground below you as you drop your head.

“I love you!" he shouts back with wet eyes and a heavy chest.

Your head shot back up at his words, "No you don't. Stop. don't say that, Matty, it's not funny, " you whisper back at him, staring blankly.

“I do, please I do,” he says walking towards you. You take a step back as he approaches. Not believing what is happening. 

“Please just- stop okay” Matty pleads with you, you stand still as he walks closer, and soon he is in front of you staring down into your eyes.

He briefly admires your eyelashes, heavy with tears. And your glossy eyes staring up at him. 

“Please let me just speak okay, let me explain how serious I am. Please.” he pleads with you, your small nod makes him continue.

He then breaks down and explains when he realised he was in love, and how it fucked with his mind endlessly.

matty can still distinctly remember when he first realised he loved you. It wasn't during some big dramatic moment, there was no celebration, cake, or streamers. just you.

It was when you all went into the countryside for Adam's birthday, you rented a cottage for you all to stay in. All Adam wanted to do for his big day was get pissed and make music in this beautiful house and you were all more than happy to oblige.

It was midday when Matty woke up draped over a sofa still in his clothes from the night before. He hissed as the light hit his eyes, not entirely sure why the world would punish him at that moment.

He looked around and saw everyone in a similar situation to him. Poor George was cramped in a small armchair, Matty having taken the only place the giant could've slept comfortably. 

The birthday boy himself was sprawled on the floor, wrapped in the rug with Carly lying on his chest. Ross and Waughy were lying in a similar pose on the other side of the coffee table, but with a very small Jamie squished between the two of them.

Matty couldn't help but notice the lack of one person, always seeming to notice when you weren't in a room. He was always drawn to you, and at that point, he didn't quite know why.

Before he could sit on that thought too long everyone else began to stir, a cacophony of groans and grumbles soon came out of the severely hungover group.

"Am I dead? " croaked out Adam, already hacking up a lung at having spoken 3 words earning him a whine and a slap from his sleeping wife.

"No mate," Matty began, "just hungover in our 30's. Does anyone want a cuppa?" he asked, knowing the answer would be a resounding yes.

He stumbled into the kitchen with a mental order for 4 cups of tea, 2 coffees and one "go fuck yourself" for George. He really was a grump when hungover.

Once again he hissed at the light once he entered the kitchen and began looking for the window that was causing the awful beam.

But he stopped in his tracks once he saw you, you had obviously snuck away at some point this morning without waking anyone else.

You sat in the small nook below the window, a pink blanket was tossed over your bare legs as you stared out and the garden, wishing you could live here forever.

You didn't hear Matty come into the kitchen, so you stayed blissfully unaware of the man currently staring at you in a state of shock.

The glow of the sun reflected on your face, illuminating your features. Matty stared as the sunlight danced across your cheeks. He could see your eyes skittering over the garden, no doubt scouting out a place to sit and read later. He followed the flutter of your eyelashes down to your cheeks, somehow perfectly pink and full despite a night of drinking. If Matty hadn't seen you drink 4 shots last night, he would have never believed you could've had a single drop of alcohol. 

Matty thought to himself at that moment, "Oh shit. I'm in love with her," when he saw you there.

He's never felt more cliche, but it was as if lightning had stuck him where he stood. But once he knew, he realised it had never been hidden. Every stolen touch, every lingering glance was a confession of love.

Matty yearned for you. Your melodic laugh that you insisted was a cackle, your bashful smile as you try not to preen over someone's compliments (usually his), the red that decorates your cheeks every time you drink a little bit too much wine. He craved it all.

Every part of him was made for loving you. It was the easiest thing he's ever had to do.

The realisation almost bowled him over, he gripped the corner of the kitchen counter to ground himself. He stared in awe, just watching you breathe as you stared out the window.

Soon, a wave of nausea reminded him of his purpose, and he busied himself making the myriad of teas he had promised everyone. Even managing to speak up to offer you one, but that realisation never left him.

As Matty recounted that story he saw your eyes get misty with tears, the words were flowing out of him and he couldn't stop before telling you another time he felt sick with his love for you.

He told you about the holiday in France you all took, 3 months after he realised he was ridiculously in love with you. But it was also 2 months into your relationship with Cole, and Matty had just begun to stitch himself back together.

The stitches were wonky and misplaced, he bled beneath them whenever he saw you together. But he was trying. He continued to try and fix his weeping wound, despite deep down knowing the only real fix was not seeing you, but how could he not?

He watched the waves crash over your form in the ocean, you were wildly laughing as you almost tumbled over from the force. The straps of your swimsuit nearly become untied from the crash of the waves.

When you had strolled out earlier in your suit, Matty felt his heart skitter, a simple black suit to most, but to Matty, it made his palms sweaty and his stomach leap.

The thin straps crossed over your shoulders and met behind your neck. A neck matty though would look so beautiful marked up, by him especially. The waist of the suit hugged you perfectly, making Matty dizzy at the sight of your curves. It sat low in the centre of your chest, and your glowing skin teased him mercilessly.

He felt his hands twitch at his sides when Cole ran over to you, bowling you over and pulling you into the salty waves behind you. 

He thought, if it were him with you he would have slid up behind you, wrapped his hands around your waist and kissed your neck. Taking the brute force of the waves himself and letting you stand without worry of falling over.

He'd brush your sandy hair to one side and bury his face in the other. He'd breathe you in, the jasmine perfume you always wore would override his senses and he'd bury his nose deeper. He'd smile bashfully at your giggles and teasing, leaving small pecks that only caused you to laugh more.

But he wasn't doing any of that.

He was sitting on a towel watching you fight in the waves with the man who had everything he wanted but had no idea. He decided then and there a small bit of flirting wouldn't hurt anyone.

Well, it would hurt him, but matty chose to push that down and bottle it up. Knowing it would rip open his wound but he would rather slowly bleed to death with you than heal without you near him.

As Matty finished that story he saw you itching to say something, he quickly finished what he needed to say and prepared for the inevitable rejection. 

"So I started just… flirting. nothing too much, just enough to get your cheeks to colour and Coles fists to clench. Just enough to brighten you up again. I missed you being bright sweetheart."

Matty tensed as he finished as if preparing for you to scream at him.

You stared blankly at the man in front of you, his months of pining were lost on you. 

Of course, you noticed the flirting, everyone noticed the flirting. It was Matty, you're sure he'd have chemistry with a wooden broom if he tried. You'd more than noticed it, it had quickly become a guilty pleasure of yours to relive what he said to you.

So guilty that perhaps once or twice your hand slid down your body at the thought of Matty whispering those same comments in your ear. But that was normal, you assured yourself.

People in relationships thought about another man's curls tickling your face as he kissed your pulse point. Everyone thought of another man's voice whispering filthy comments into your ears. Obviously, everyone thought about the feeling of those same curls between their legs, and how good it would feel to grip and pull at them. To grind against his pretty face.

You shook those thoughts out of your head and looked at Matty again, you saw the fear and desperation on his face. You took a small step forward and he stepped back, copying your actions from before.

“What are you doing,” he said suspiciously, panting from pouring his heart out so quickly.

“Would you just stay still you idiot?” you say, giving him a small smile. He tilted his head questioningly but followed your request, your next step forward brought you chest to chest with him.

Before you could think too hard, you leaned in and pressed your lips together. So gentle it almost wasn't a touch, but it was and it was real. Matty couldn't believe it was fucking real.

Any chance of catching your breath was lost as Matty shot forward catching you in a passionate kiss that almost had you falling backwards if it wasn't for him desperately grabbing at you.

Your hands shot to his hair, scratching the nape of his neck with your nails as you pulled at the unkempt curls that sat there. A groan bubbles out from deep within Matty's chest and you slip your tongue into his mouth as it does, only causing another groan to leave him and his grip to tighten. 

You briefly see a flash of the door opening behind Matty but pay it no mind, too wrapped up in the man in front of you.

Charli and George stood with their heads out the door, peeking out and staring at the pair of you and giggling like schoolchildren. Their laughter gets the better of you and soon you break too, laughing at their infectious and poorly suppressed snickers.

Matty turned around and scolded the pair for staring, “Oi! fuck off you two! Ruining a proper romantic moment here!” the smile on his face made it clear any harness in his voice was nothing but a ruse. 

You giggle and press your face into Matty's neck, breathing him in unabashedly and revelling in the scent of his cologne mixed with cigarettes.

He turns back to you and the pair of you stare into the eyes of the other, watching the love dance over each other's faces.

the best way to start this post is to clown over xz’s CNY selfie. this is usual for zz, posting one during this day and every year, we tend to speculate over it so this is a tradition already. lol. anyway, i wanna explain more on the caption and the exclamation he was using: 龘龘龘龘！

thank you to baidu for explaining and it makes sense now why he used it: 龘 (pronounced as dá, ㄉㄚˊ [7] ) is a Chinese character with the radical dragon, a variant of "龖" , and the meaning of the character refers to the shape of a flying dragon.

dragon fits because it’s the year of the dragon and he also used an emoji for that. his hand was also posed as the claw of a dragon. 🐲

people are saying that this was taken using his wechat camera and in selfie mode. which, like what we usually cpn, is because he was sending it to someone else. what we got is another leftover selfie. another one is what’s drawn/reflected in his eye? if you’ve been here long enough, you may be familiar with people saying that ZZ will edit his eyes to show something else. there were examples before that were kinda believable but i personally think it’s a stretch. xz is definitely an artist who loves to hide things in his art, which includes his photos so it is probable. i just don’t know how far he will take it. what fans are comparing it to as possible reference are the two: happy camp hand stand or a photo of wyb in SDC 6.

my favorite part tho is the second photo shared. i always feel like if xz is only giving us 2 photos, then it means something. the selfie makes sense— but the other one? i actually expected him to share a photo of food that he is eating. anyway, it’s a winterberry ( one of it’s names ) and is a known means health and longevity, no illness or disaster, suitable for decorating during spring festival it is believed to bring happiness and good luck.

One old cpn we have is that WYB gives him this in bouquets for his filming wrap up events knowing that he likes it. maybe not exactly how it looks but what it means. most popular being during OOL. He posted a different bouquet from what was given to him by the crew as per the wrap up bts video 👀 so why? what’s so important? was he trying to make someone happy? that is mostly explained in the last part of this post.

the speculation is he included that because wyb gave it to him. or that he gifted it to WYB, who took a photo of it and sent it back to him so he is sharing as well. wait… where did we get that idea? 🤔

again, another galaxy brain observation… the wall. it’s not the most unique kind of wall and it’s hard to tell in wyb’s video— but this video went on HS today as wyb’s new year greeting. so it kinda makes sense that gg will use that clue. wherever this was taken, probably wyb’s office, that’s where he placed the flowers. mister photographer wyb then took a photo and sent it to zz to show his appreciation for it.

black panther is something that in this fandom is widely accepted cpn was made by xz. and it’s still there. the panther looks like he has something that looks like what xz wore and drew before. also those personal connections to wyb like the 85 and skateboard, which i understand is a common yibo element and anyone can just add it. personally, i think xz did the panther on the shoulder only. 🤍

I will lightly discuss the rumor going around cpfs, especially the morning of 2/9 when cpfs have noticed that both zz and wyb have turned off their ip address locator on douyin. this usually means they don’t want people to know where they are. there are rumors that zz’s parents already arrived in Hengdian the night before 2/8 and that wyb + his parents are also going to HD so the whole joint family can spend CNY together ♥️

tho i have to say HD is a populated place, but i feel like most people will have the day off and the two are so careful so they won’t get caught. Treat this as fanfic for now. if this is true, we will clues in the next months. that’s just how turtle cpns go.

ahhhhhhh i finally finished reading the script (link here, also if you know of any other scripts from earlier or later in production plz send, i would like to read those too)

and here are some of my notes!

bo sustains a knee injury, as well as the headlight getting busted here, in a cut intro you can view some of here, this would also be the only time he is shown to kill someone

nick is two years younger then carly, so they arent twins

paige wanted to marry blake instead of her being pregnent (which still doesnt matter in the end, seriously why was this her character detail?)

script implies its vincent at the campsite due to his laboured breathing, but bts implies that lester broke the fanbelt (i think its vincent cuz why would he have daltons camera?)

the roadkill pit is 8 foot deep and 50 feet in diameter

town used to be called Athelston, also used to be a mining town instead of having a sugar mill

lester fully enjoys being sadistic to carly and wade lmao

movie theater says its playing body snatchers lol

script takes into account louisiana heat (as well as infrastructure) for the house of wax

both bo and lester have a cb radio, def how they communicate about victims, also fake detour signs to lure people into town

the line about how carly could win the beauty pageant gets way darker when you know the victim from the cut intro was made into that wax figure

bo says trudy wanted to make a town of wax in his spiel to wade and carly, is this also a lie? also adds more credence to the theory that trudy also killed

victor and trudy switch places in the story, victor dies by house fire (full on lie which shows the story is at least not all true) and trudy kills herself

bo wouldve asked wade to help him in the house if he didnt need to go piss, bo had zero thought into killing them lmao

continuing he prolly talked to vince about a plan while wade and carly waited for him at the gas station

wade puts up more of a fight, very glad the movie didnt, that bitch deserved to get got cuz of all his snooping

carly escapes into a house (lesters mayhaps 👀 prolly not tho lol) instead of the church, she also gets a hit on bos hand

also escapes into community pool where bo catches her

jonesy is prolly vincents, she sleeps in the basement while he works on wade

"Bo (mocking) : What happened to Wade?" hes so silly goofy 🥰🤪😚

dalton and nick dont have a conversion about how nick took the blame for him

script makes a typo and calls nick wade for a line

dalton is the one to check out the gas station and talk with bo, bo leads him to the house of wax

ok i have to talk about the fanbelt now cuz wtf is up with it? bo has a 15 inch in a drawer at the shop, but like no one can appreciate the dramatic irony except us and him?? what would he have done if wade had a 16 or 14 inch?? do they only go after cars with 15 inch fanbelts????

ALSO!!! would he have just let wade and carly go if they had found the 15 inch????? BO IS FUCKING STUPID AND I LOVE HIM

AND!!!! ALSO!!!! as @hollabackgrl pointed out in her alternate scenarios post, what would have happened if lester/vincent stole the fanbelt out of blakes truck?? seriously bo lucked into wade having a 15 inch 😒

nick is abke to go into the snack store? grocery store? and finds a deer that wade hit at the start in the back, id like to believe that its because lester was going to cook it but its infested with rats, so why keep it and not throw it into the pit?

dalton finds wade in the basement instead of being displayed

vincent has steeled toed boots, nice :)

nicks still the one to free carly, there just no confrontatiom with bo

nick and carly go into the church still

script mentions shotgun wound in trudys head, so some of bos story is true,,, maybe?

paige does a strip tease but vince slices at her shoe? lmao

nick and carly run into a looney toons showing instead of "whatever happened to baby jane"

diversity win! the murderous twins that incase people in wax dont discriminate on who dies!

bo and vincent hadnt been seperated until 3-4 years old??

i love how the script characterizes vincent as super pissed about everything

bo and vincent never argue in the kitchen, in fact it seems as though theyre more in tune with eachother

bos feelings towards trudy vexes me and i hate it

vincents scars are described differently, having actually been scarred over

carly aggitates bo by saying trudy hated him (which he hates?? seriously what tf goes on in his head) and saying he killed her instead of trying to get vincent on her side by saying bo manipulated him (which is bs anyway but i'll get to that in my analysis on the movie 😌😌)

And thats it! actual deep thoughts and analysis will come when i rewatch the movie and pause every frame /hj (will add link here when that happens) but thats everything i found interesting about the script and what all changed from it to the actual movie, im open to discussing in the comments or my dms ^^
