I remember reading fangirl when I was like thirteen and there being that mini plot thread throughout the novel where for the longest time Cath was too scared to go to her college’s dining hall because she didn’t know how it worked and was terrified she’d accidentally embarrass herself so instead she just spent half a semester eating peanut butter and granola bars until her roommate noticed and forced her to go with her. And that just really stuck with me because even at the time it felt like something I would do and I thought about it for years and years and then when I was finally at college on my own and I knew. that I needed to go to the dining hall and get food and eat but I was scared to do it on my own because I didn’t know the rules and what if I did something wrong or embarrassed myself and I couldn’t even ask my roommate to go with me and make it less scary because I didn’t have a roommate (covid protocol). Anyways Cather Avery most relatable character ever.

(before that i disliked it (had never read it) because i had a really incorrect understanding of what it was and why #people wrote it. i didn’t love it after finishing the book but i didn’t despise it anymore either)#anyways. books that probably did change my life a little bit #also i did eventually make it to my dining hall. there was a girl there who i knew from high school and when i mustered up the courage to #text her she was super nice and immediately invited me to have dinner with her. so i didn’t have to live off peanut butter for an entire #semester thankfully lol

had another weird (but kinda funny dream) and I want to document it again so that i don’t forget it

#essentially I was on holiday with my family and my bf family #but me and my mom FOR SOME REASON decided that no. we would drive our own plane for returning home. so my mom drove this plane.#as we approach to land my mom realised that she has never drove a plane before and therefore has ZERO idea on how to land it #so we get close to the ground but ofc we crash #my mom only ends up a little broken and I hurt my head and I go into a coma #basically this coma lasts 5 YEARS. YEAH. but I don’t age a day.#and when I come back the world seems so fun and much better from what i remember #my boyfriend then takes me around to meet everyone again and everyone is so happy to see me #they gift me tons of shit #and also the antimeridionalisti and the parents of one of them were there (wow so many cameos)#also my mom is now with pedro pascal and a bunch of a list celebs dine with us #then I was starting to speak Spanish with my mom and pedro because we were comparing it to Portuguese (my auntie is from there and so is her #family)#but then my mom woke me up at 7am beacuse I had my window open and she told me “time to study!!!!”#and nothing this was the dream. thank you for joining.#also I’ve never studied Spanish but I do know various sentences and words lol #randomly #dream

im due on and not in the mood for much of anything but of course there are stepladders that must be painted

#my mum doesnt half pull chores out her arse sometimes like what. no ofc that's a thing that needs doing #like okay tbh i LOVE the way my mum decorates it's something i rave about to all my friends bc im genuinely very proud of her and our house #bc basically my mum has an interior design degree and generally has an Eye for decorating like she's just Good at it #but she never ever ever spends loads of money if ANY when she can help it #put me in any room in our house and i can point at all the furniture and tell you some dumb story about it #'my mum's cousin sold that sofa to her for a fiver' 'she literally pulled that dining set from someone's skip' etc #like everything is always aquired for free or bc of some niche 'i know a guy' connection or she paid pennies for it #and then either me my mum or my sister will sand it down and paint it ourselves and it always looks amazing when it's done #like ive said to my mum before she could probs start a business with it bc she does it to such a professional standard #so it's given me and my sister not only a real respect for DIY and second hand and generally not spending extortionate amounts #but it's also given us handy skills like painting and sanding and glossing etc etc #and ive always loved that about my mum like she doesnt NEED to be doing this anymore like she has the money now to buy things new #but she just doesnt she genuinely prefers doing stuff like this and having furniture that has a story behind it etc and i love that #but my GOD is it annoying when we're doing it like i HATE painting it's sooooo dull #and when im due on and cant be arsed to do ANYTHING let alone chores this is just. nail in coffin #AITA my thrifty aesthetic is making my daughter contemplate offences against the person via stepladder #hella goes home

The progression of targeted ads is wild.

I am (still) planning to paint my office and I think I landed on a color, but then I remembered I have this ugly radiator there and maybe I should paint that too while I'm at it.

So obviously first all my ads on social media were paint. Fine, I expected that. Don't even hate it because that's how I found the paint color in the first place.

Then it was these like...radiator covers? So I could just plop one over the ugly radiator and not have to deal with painting it? I mean I'll admit, I'm kind of dreading the thought of painting a radiator so they did tempt my lazy ass.

Then today I just got these trendy radiators that apparently can come in any color you can imagine.

My little FBI agent just keeps upping my home renovation project and I just need it to CHILL. Truly unless you are financing this project, please just back off and get back to showing me paint samples jfc.

#anyway yes I know it's been six months since I said I was going to paint my office #but I really am closer than ever!!!#that said I decided to paint my dining room first jlaksjdad #which is prob the room I'm in the least BUT I look at it a lot #and I've never painted a room before and the way the dining room is set up #I think it would be a lot easier than my office and doesn't have a weird ugly radiator to work around #so I feel like it would be a good starter paint job #it's a PROCESS ok?! don't @ me

#I like to implement themes and imagery a lot in my work and this is me putting the back wheels before the cart before the horse #But in those tag games I do sometimes I've always compared Riley to a coyote-- which I think fits #Coyotes are pack animals living in the desert w/ their social systems-- similar to nomad clans living in the desert w/ their social systems #And a coyote's perceived aggressiveness translates well to symbolize a character like my V who has a reputation for being aggressive #The idea of a pack animal separated from it's pack is what I was gunning for #But I never noticed that the dichotomy of coyotes and their stereotypical prey-- jackrabbits-- translates REALLY well to Johnny and V #Especially considering Johnny as a jackrabbit rather than a coyote (backwards I know but work with me for a sec)#Jackrabbits being a solitary animal that CAN live in a group but usually chooses not to #The idea of a hare looking similar to a rabbit but still being prey all the same #(idk why but my brain sticks with idea of Johnny standing out from the NC Vox Poppili but he's still just that at the end of the day-- prey #And running. Running at danger running for safety. The thought of Johnny always always always running #A jackrabbit can't move slowly they're often symbols of moving fast-- Johnny never slows down; he's always on the run from something #With the Coyote chasing after it for survival #In Dine mythology the coyote and the jackrabbit are both trickster figures and idk that sticks in my mind #Coyote wants to smoke Rabbit out of it's hole but when it lights the fires Rabbit kicks the embers back into his face #Cunning beaten with cunning in a sense like two sides of the same coin. Idk it just tickles me #The idea of two people both being so opposed but still having that emotional connection between them #Anyway thought blurb over #Honestly I'd've made this into an actual post but my thoughts aren't necessarily in the best order for it
