If Jiang Cheng is captured or killed, they'll kill Madame Yu and Uncle Jiang and Jiang Cheng. Jiang Yanli is an heir, but not one that can lead their people into battle, and they won’t bother keeping hostages for her benefit.

Wei Wuxian could do it – but with Jiang Cheng gone, she loses her place in the clan, she can't become the wife of their future sect leader if he’s dead. She’s the logical one to lose.

Jiang Cheng is going to kill her. But they’re getting too close to the inn.

She pays a boy to take the medicine and a note back to them in an hour’s time, then whistles, clear and bright cutting through the crowd. The Wen soldiers look at her and she’s hungry and tired but this is her clan’s life on the line here, her sister’s, her fiance’s. “Looking for me?”

There’ a moment of stillness then they’re surging forward and she’s running and they’re chasing and she’s very, very good but they’re fresh. She needs to go someplace they won’t follow.

They’re not too far from Yiling, she thinks.

Jiang Cheng is going to kill her.

He wants to go after her, but he doesn’t even know where she is, and that would mean leaving A-jie defenseless on her own, which he can’t do, and Wei Wuxian would never forgive him for doing anyway.

They set a punishing pace to Jin territory, which is where the disciples were instructed to meet up with them. A bit of gamble, but Wei Wuxian had pointed out that Jin Guangshan would likely be playing both sides of the war to his advantage, which is as close to neutral territory as they were going to get.

Once he delivers A-jie to the rest of their disciples, he can leave them to protect her and can leave her to organize them and he can go after Wei Wuxian. He thinks that three hostages is probably one too many – two too many, really, and he wonders how long it will be before his mother’s mouth gets her killed. If they do put her and Wei Wuxian together, that would move up that timetable exponentially.

Part of him is scared Wei Wuxian’s already dead. The rest of him knows better.

If she were dead, the Wen would be flaunting and bragging about. If they’d killed her, they’d be using it to draw him out, but so far there’s been nothing.

Of course, she ruins his plans like always because just when he’s getting ready to go out searching, she appears in the camp and grabs his shoulders and says, “You’ll never guess what I figured out!”

She’s been missing for almost three weeks and just as soon as he feels like he can breathe again he’s going to strangle her. “You!” he hisses and then he’s grabbing her, yanking her into his chest and holding her so tightly that she probably can’t breathe either, although for a different reason.

She’s hugging him back just as tightly, which makes him feel slightly less like he’s losing his mind. He pulls back and she’s wearing robes that she definitely stole and – “Why do you have a flute?”

Wei Wuxian beams, rocking back on her heels.

Most of Jiang Cheng’s relief drains to wariness.

That expression on her face has never meant anything good.

Summary: Ivan talks to a fan. He doesn’t know his name, he doesn’t know his face, but he does know he has a strange inclination towards losing things.

Personally, he finds him very delightful.

“—she saw it, I saw it, we all saw it. It looked like a segyein took a dump and rolled in it all across the platform. Really smeared it in. All the toilet paper got painted red.”

Ivan chuckled. Coincidentally, the marker that the artist was using seemed to be painted red as well, most likely as a result of the incident.

He raised his sugary drink and sipped from the straw. “I’m starting to notice a pattern.”

“That so?” The artist drawled, his head lowered at the sketchbook in his lap, his second one. The first one laid next to two cups of espresso, both emptied in a manner of minutes. It was a ratty thing, that book. All his books were. They preoccupied the artist’s attention, so direct eye contact was scarce. Ivan barely saw a glimpse of a light, blue-ish color in the shade of his hood. Teal, perhaps. It was really hard to tell.

He placed his drink down and leaned against the table. “You’re very careless with your belongings.”

“S’not my fault I got more important things to worry about.”

“Yes. Like your—“ An idea formed, and Ivan pulled a random sheet of paper out of the sketchbook. His companion guffawed, bony hands reaching for it, but to no avail. Now he could properly see all the shades of gray imbued into his skin, his eyes, his hair. If the hoodie he wore under his white, sleeveless jacket wasn’t maroon, Ivan wouldn’t have realized that his eyes are green. He tilted his head at his discovery with a pleased grin.

“Sheet music,” he flipped the page over, his gaze flying over the dreadful handwriting. “With the dullest bridge I’ve ever seen.”

“Shut up,” the artist snapped, his tone a little sharper than what he was used to hearing. Ivan was immediately addicted.

“Hm. The lyrics are off. Is this supposed to be a ballad?”

“Mind your fucking business.”

“Well, I’m proficient in ballads. If you need assistance—“

Finally, he snatched the paper out of his hands. Ivan let him.

“Your girl’s here,” he mumbled as he flipped the binder of his ancient sketchbook open and attached the ballad to a page with a crooked paper clip. So many drawings were attached in the same manner. It was really a shame he never showed off his work.

Ivan looked out at the street, and noticed his Guardian’s pristine white vehicle. He hadn’t even noticed how much time had passed.

“So she is.” Rising from his chair, he called out to the bartender to pay for their drinks. It was customary, and the artist never protested.

When all was said and done, Ivan offered the man a picture perfect smile, snaggletooth included. He wished he could offer something better, but the expression was long engraved into his facial muscles, too deep to be scraped off. “Thank you for your company. I hope to see you again some time.”

He pivoted on his heel, white coattails fluttering, until—

A grip on his wrist. A yellowed sheet of paper in his face.

Ivan blinked in confusion, then relaxed. He took up the artist’s pencil and the sketchbook, holding it carefully with his palm so his signature won’t end up too shaky. “I’m starting to think you’re auctioning these behind my back.”

“No, I’m—“ The artist’s thin lips twitched. His fingers readjusted the white, vandalized scrap of a jacket worn over his hoodie. His most eccentric piece of clothing, Ivan concluded. “Careless. I got careless. One got caught in the segyein shitstains. Acrylic. Whatever.”

“You’re lucky I enjoy doing this.” Ivan finished off his autograph with a flourish, cherishing the sketchbook’s texture before he handed it off. “Cheer up, sir, and good luck with your ballad.”

The artist didn’t respond to that. He never did.

As he entered the vehicle, Ivan leaned against the darkened glass to see him stagger forward, full of hesitation, only to bump into a rushing passerby. It took him no less than a millisecond to raise his middle finger and spout obscenities.

Ivan felt the silliest giggle bubble out of his throat. What a funny man.

“You should report him.”

His head swiveled to look at his co-passenger. Sua’s empty eyes stared through the glass, glued to the hooded artist as he shuffled his sneakers in the street and pulled at the seams of his fingerless gloves. “He’s been stalking you for two weeks now.”

“I know,” Ivan grinned. “I’m flattered.”

Sua’s fine brow lowered to her eyelids, a rare wrinkle rising on her temple. “He still has a gun in his backpack.”

He did. He never appeared without it.

His presence was consistent at Ivan’s favorite café. In spite of the place he claimed for himself, his silhouette smeared the small establishment like a splatter of paint. Ivan found the sight strangely mesmerizing, and he continued to stare long after the scenery in the window changed.

Sighing, Ivan hooked his arms above his head, shifting to one side, then another. He hadn’t stretched in the last two hours he’d been sitting in that café. His side was stinging again.

“He’s not dangerous. Just lonely,” Ivan said with confidence as he pulled out a black marker out of his coat’s pocket. The red acrylic on its surface chipped a little. Red flakes stuck to his fingertips.

“I should really bribe him for a name one day.”

My Workouts are always early morning before school in the evening hours before i got to bed so i won’t have to worry about that affecting my academics. With my Hobbies i feel like only some of them really need scheduling so ill also make time dedicated to those as well !!!!

Beauty Maintenance will probably always be on weekends for the stuff that weekly/bi weekly like face masks,manipedis,hair etc!!

So like, not a joke, not an exaggeration, I’m pretty sure this is my favourite panel in the entire Challengers/KoiBo continuity (and I decided to draw it first lol - it’s ‘cause I have such big feelings about it!!) It just hhhhhh, it so perfectly encapsulates everything he’s feeling in that moment; disbelief, betrayal, uncertainty, distrust, conflict - every moment of love he’s built up to that point has been thrown into immediate relief to what he’s been told and it’s all there, right on his face, it’s such a masterfully done expression ;; <3 I legit cry every time I reread, that whole scene is just so good, I could actually talk forever about his relationship with Morinaga in that one moment

The rest aren’t nearly so intense lol, mostly just grabbed from moments when I thought he was being especially cute <3 Concerned lad! His hair is so swoopy in Challengers hehe <3 <3 It’s actually even fluffier in his super early-on appearances, which are also excellent >:3c But I still like his KoiBo look best ♪ You can also see it’s a bit of a challenge to make his face as slim as he actually is, just thicken the lines inward until it almost looks right! Lol

I love this panel haha, everyone so silly chibi’d out. You can also really get a good look at how ridiculous his hair is, look at how the tuft that’s tucked behind his ear joins up with the tie! How does he tie it up like that, consistently?? How is he allowed in labs like that!! He’s ridiculous <3

Confused and blushy Souichi ft. Morinaga, I just kind of filled in the details he was covering lol. I love Souichi being dumb and having no self-awareness <3 He’s actually quite intelligent and emotionally aware a surprising majority of the time! But his blind spots leave big gaps haha

I love when he has his eyebrows in a relatively neutral position, he’s normally so grumpy! He looks so friendly even with just a neutral expression :D Plus his hair!! The way it’s communicated to be thin and feathery by being able to “see through it” to his lab coat, ah <3 Handsomest

Speaking of, I'm thinking my fox tails/animal tails/fur and critter brushes will be this month's big reward! The fox tail brushes are puffy color changing pressure sensitive brushes that let you get the basic shape/painted poof in with one stroke. Choose a light color as your main brush and a dark as your secondary color and then apply gentle pressure>hard>gentle for white tip and big wintry coat taper. There are a few more different styles than my test sheet here, including (ragged fur, puffy-scared fur, more watercolor looks and other fur effects)

💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.

He was reframed and received a new identity which means that the original Helios' memories were wiped and his spark + blank processor were put into a new frame. I like to think that he was a cold-constructed medivac helicopter that came from the same assembly line as Ambulon (or the mech he was before he changed his name) :-D and that his willingness to help the socially excluded was the reason why the government decided to reframe him, just like countless other mechs.

In the story, he is actually his universe's version of Ambulon because I created him before I knew about Ambi's existence and my first reaction to him was "Wow, he's just like him for real". And in January I decided to merge them together so now I have this weird headcanon that they're the same person :-)

Sometimes a hallucination of his brother appears before him and he doesn't know what to think of it. Only when Firecry's team joins the Stellar Observatory and Carbonlight comes on board does the image of his brother start to talk to him and tries to manipulate him. As it turns out it's the shapeshifter that lives in Carbonlight which takes on his brother's appearance and it knows what his brother looked like because the shapeshifter was the one who killed him.

💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?

Helios is an insomniac and a light sleeper, but he relaxes when someone he can trust is nearby (Nightjet and later Ironwing). Being held also helps. On special occasions, Ironwing will hum a song that lulls him to sleep and the three of them will form a cuddle pile. I love cuddly robots.

He is loyal to a fault, has learned to be selfless and will always try his hardest to make others like him.

He is self-sacrificing, has no ambitions and is a coward at heart.

Unlike the other rotaries from his model line, he paints his silvery parts in yellow and orange. The rest of his plating is in standard gray.

He looks like a kicked puppy whenever he's confused or doesn't know what to do.

His finials as well as his rotors have been locked in place and can't move freely like they used to, preventing him from emoting with them.

When he's feeling down, he finds a quiet place and lies on the floor while listening to music half-consciously.

During his time on Earth, he discovers funny videos on the internet and becomes slightly addicted to them if only for the fact that they are the only thing that can genuinely make him laugh and feel good, until he meets the Stellar Observatory's crew.

Always go for the more tragic option: While he tries to make friends, he adopts an overly cheerful persona that comes off as forced and uncanny and in turn drives others away. When he drops the act and returns to his normal self is the only time anyone can like him ...and that's how he became friends with Nightjet and Ironwing.
