I wish I had more to express how much i love spiderverse other than just sitting with my thoughts and vibrating intensely as my emotions bubble forth. Like. This is everything I’ve wanted. Yes it’s not perfect but its flaws are so ignorable that it doesn’t matter in the long run and more than that I just love it. I love good superhero content- good spiderman content. It’s managed to almost singlehandedly REVOLUTIONIZE what was a dwadling cgi landscape- and I suspect ATSV is gonna do that again. The fact that they managed to hit it out of the park not once but twice. As someone who went to see spiderverse the opening week and fell in love, I’m just so fucking happy rn

Can you guys tell that I like FOPANW?

I’m kind of warming up to Jasmine, not because of her character, BUT BECAUSE SHE’S FUN TO DRAW!!

Her outfit’s cute and has personality, which I respect, and her hair is cut to show she’s wild!!

Basically whenever I don’t have a cardboard cut out idea on how to feel about a character, I measure it on how fun they are to draw, and she’s a solid 8! (Which is a lot since I love to put 7 for everything!!)

I went through this process back in let’s say 2022 when I was watching TOH due to a friend’s persistence, and drew Hunter. Beforehand, yeah he was a fun character, but after? HE JUST BECAME BETTER!!

I don’t know, maybe it’s an artist thing, but the moral of the story is—

There is no moral.

I drew it this because Dev looked SO CUTE in this scene and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to draw him.

It had nothing to do with Jasmine…😖

Sometimes I think about the fact that first living being to orbit the Earth couldn't understand what was happening to her, couldn't understand the history she was making. Laika wasn't a volunteer. The technology to bring her back alive didn't exist. They sent her up anyway. She died, scared and alone, in a malfunctioning spacecraft hastily built to meet a political deadline.

When her heart rate tripled from the stress of acceleration, did she understand the magnitude of what she was experiencing? When she saw the stars outside her little window, did she believe the world had gone dark? In her final hours, did she feel wonder, or just fear?

"The more time passes, the more I’m sorry about it. We shouldn’t have done it. We did not learn enough from this mission to justify the death of the dog. When you understand that you can’t bring back Laika, that she perishes out there, and that no one can bring her back…that is a very heavy feeling." Oleg G. Gazenko

For me, there's some small consolation, at least, in knowing that although her death was unnecessary and cruel, Laika will never be forgotten. I love you, Laika. May you find peace among the stars.
