Also hello, I became Even Smarter and actually made use of my 5 dragon based information books for this, with all their many diagrams. In other words, his skeleton is more accurate to what I wanted than what I have for Nightmare OR Dream’s ref sheets _(」∠ ､ﾝ､)_

That doesn’t mean their refs are inaccurate or anything. I just don’t like how I did Dream’s ribs or Nightmare’s spine. XD

Dragon Breath:

Acidic Ink

A dark, saliva-like liquid in Ink’s mouth that burns to the touch. He’s able to spit it at a distance semi-successfully, but he finds it’s far more effective to just gather it up in his mouth and bite, locking his jaw to both hold onto the victim and continuously burn them directly in the wound. He doesn’t often use this in a fight, because he finds it to be a little too vicious for him. It’s usually only used when he is lost to pure instincts and desperate to correct his side of the Balance. He has found other uses for it, though, like burning through things (branches, metal poles, thin doors, etc), disposing of trash, or even random artistic purposes.

The ink is able to burn through most material, though it won’t continue doing so forever as it does quickly dissipate. It cannot hurt his own bones or ecto, unless he doesn’t wash it off for a few hours. Even then, it’s a very slight burning sensation — nowhere close to the damage it deals to others.

General Abilities:

• Ink keeps all of his usual abilities:

- Creating paint/ink attacks

- Creating objects out of said paint/ink

- Traveling and teleporting via ink puddles

• Flight (though his landing isn’t always great)

• Longer jumps (very useful in the Doodle Sphere)

• Typical physical attacks, like clawing, biting, wrapping around someone, or ramming with his horns.

Hoard:

As planned by the same “beings” that fated them to be dragons of the Balances, Ink’s hoard was supposed to be the AUs. This would have strengthened his role as the Protector and the God of Creation, therefore benefiting his Balance. However, as Destruction is also necessary, Ink would have had to constantly deal with the pain of losing his hoard.

Error changed this fate without Ink’s knowledge. After they’d mostly befriended each other and established a truce between their own Balance, he purposefully influenced Ink’s hoarding instincts by spontaneously gifting him random art supplies. This was usually just anything he could pick up from worlds he was destroying, but there were definitely more considerate occasions where he’d hunt down something Ink mentioned he was interested in. This was incredibly meaningful to Ink, and it eventually turned into his hoarding item.

Ink very well can make his own supplies, but he finds it much more satisfying to get them himself (or get them from Error, who, even after Ink said he’d established his hoard, continues to bring supplies for him). He often steals from worlds he’s passing through, or occasionally takes small things like pencils and paper from friends’ homes. He leaves his hoard anywhere he trusts, which so far has only been his own home, the Anti-Void, Dream’s home, and (briefly) the empty remains of X-Tale. Not included here are the pieces of artwork he gives to people he trusts, which would still count as a part of his hoard, but a part he’s more willing to share.

Extra Info:

• Ink is the only one out of the six shifters who gained his role as the God of Creation before becoming a shifter. Truthfully, he and Error are the only ones that had to become a shifter in the first place — the others just came into existence like that.

• Though it’s never been officially talked about, both Ink and Error are well aware that all the knitting and sewing supplies in the Anti-Void are a part of Ink’s hoard. He doesn’t use them, he doesn’t take them (unless asking), but they are hoard, and Error constantly finds them buried under canvases, sketchbooks, and palettes. With the amount of times he’s watched Ink literally toss brushes into his fabric boxes right in front of him, Error’s just given up on trying to keep it all organized.

• Ink is likely the most cat-like out of them all. He’s hopped into boxes, batted at something dangling in his reach, sleeps in any and all positions, and will get onto anything he thinks will hold him.

• XGaster had never seen a shifter before. He did not know how they worked, nor did he really care to think it through, especially in the moment. When he used Overwrite on Ink, he wasn’t entirely correct in how to properly adjust his code into being a shifter. This makes Ink just a little different from the others. More specifically, this is why the process of shifting between forms for him is so broken and painful.

- Truthfully, XGaster would have fixed that for him when he got out of the vial. He wants everything to be perfect, afterall. No matter how many times he has to try for it. He never gets the chance to do so, though.

• When overwhelmed or upset, Ink often runs away to an unknown or empty AU to curl up and wait for his colors to fade away. He doesn’t usually talk to anyone about what’s bugging him, because he thinks as the Protector and God he should be able to handle anything. However, this is partially also because of XGaster using his rambling against him, both verbally and physically, thus instilling a fear he doesn’t fully know about that his friends will betray him and use his insecurities against him. He’s currently working on it. But for now, Error is the only one he truly talks to.

• If you really took the time to learn what each and every color, shade, and tint stood for, you could tell exactly what Ink was feeling based on his ecto alone. This is very helpful when he’s trying to hide something — any hints of blues, cyan, or purples are great indicators that he’s Not Okay. Usually, he’s seen in varying shades of pinks, yellows, and greens, constantly mixing and swirling around within his magic.

• He truly does care for Cross, despite the soldier really disliking Ink.

• Sun • Scorpio, Aquarius, Capricorn, Gemini, Cancer & Leo!

Scorpio suns just feel like family! They can be nice/generous to a fault. Their sun falls in my 5th/6th house cusp and that’s funny because I see them as fiery and dramatic yet they’re also very caring and protective so it’s a big yes. 🙌🏽

Aquarius suns are literally the coolest! I can’t express how much I love you guys!! Literally always down for anything and hella open minded and I love that! They have this way of making others feel included in stuff even if they’re not that close with the person.

Capricorn suns where do I start? Their generosity is often overlooked. They’re the types to give without asking for anything in return. They’re also very caring even if it doesn’t show. These people tend to have big hearts and are also no bullsh!t type people.

Gemini suns.. I always tend to feel a fast connection with these people (their sun falls in my 12th/1st house cusp). Most of them are sweet and understanding, have bright ideas and hilarious laughters! I feel like I can talk to them about anything & everything because they’ll understand and then add onto it lol.

Cancer suns are so energetic and child-like and I’m so here for it!! Their sun falls in my 1st/2nd house & I know some other Cancer suns who are very chill and strive for stability above anything. They’re also very fun to be around and are great listeners!!

Leo suns are so nice!! Yes they might be brutally honest when calling you out but they’ll also look out for you and stick up for you no matter what! I love how unapologetically upfront they are! They can also seem a little distant at first but when they get attached to you it’s game over! • Moon • Aries, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Libra, Scorpio & Taurus!

Aries moons are smarter than given credit for! They’re very playful and very upfront. Have loud laughs and love trolling others for fun.😂 They’re also sweet people.💕

Sagittarius moons are actually pretty chill and charming in public but won’t back down from a debate/fight. I can’t express how alive and understood I feel with these people!! They’ve got stories for days and love laughing & lecturing others!

Aquarius moons’ detached yet daring demeanor is so attractive!! 😩 Also the goofiness is never ending!! Name me an Aquarius moon who doesn’t have an elite sense of humor I’ll wait.😂

Libra moons have cute smiles/laughters and are also funny people!! They give off 50% balanced / 50% chaotic energy lol. This one Libra moon I know has always wanted this cookie cutter, traditional relationship and I think that’s very Libra moon-like! Also, y’all feel like sisters to me!💗

Scorpio moons are very sweet and thoughtful when developed! They’re the types to check on you, try to help you in any way they can or do favors for you. Very generous and giving!😩 They’re also the types to include you in things or make plans with you!💞

Taurus moons to me are soo smart & eloquent! They have a fine eye for items of quality and for fashion!! They’re also understanding, somewhat old fashioned and tend to be pragmatic!

Gemini risings, I don’t think I’ve met that much but the few I’ve come to meet lately feel like extensions of myself. Their curiosity & way of talking, down to the way they view life feels all too familiar and intriguing! Normally we’d exchange knowledge and experiences so that’s cool.🏹

Libra risings and their calm & collected auras are soo satisfying to be around! They tend to be artistic and you’ll notice it right off the bat even if they just consider it a hobby. The main ones I know tend to be talented at everything that has to do with Vanity! From makeup to outfits to hair, just impeccable taste.🤌🏽💕

Cancer risings are sweeties.🤎 Their cheeks & eyes are so adorable!😩💕When they’re comfortable enough around you they tend to do this baby voice and it’s honestly the cutest thing!😭In social outings they tend to be shy and somewhat reserved yet very friendly and attentive!

Libra mercuries are smart! They’re smooth & persuading. Animated and thoughtful. Understanding & charming. Love this placement!💗

Progress Update — 30/04/24

The work on the chapter is going strong. I think I'm 60% done with the first draft. It has 50K words; I still will need to add a lot of variables/flavor text and I'll get to that when I'm fully done with the first draft and start doing revisions.

All first personal scenes with the five are finished. I’m onto the second scenes with them and the second visit into the Abyss. It will be quite different this time!

We will also be reaching 1K followers in the foreseeable future (still can't comprehend such a number!), so I'm already thinking what I'll be writing as a thank you (besides the chapter). I'm leaning towards the characters' focused short stories, with romance or without, and I'll either choose the idea for them myself or let you decide. If anyone has any requests, that's it (you can send it to the askbox).

I’ll write another update at the end of the next month. Hopefully, I’ll be done with the first draft by then and deep into the editing stage. Have a good week, everyone! 💛

Finally making progress on this "new" (actually very old in concept) chapter of Act I. Here's a (very unpolished) scene featuring weirdly suggestive marshmallow roasting + general suggestive (mutual) roasting. I often miss Gabriel's young and relatively unjaded self, so it's been nice to spend some time with that version of him in some of these early scenes.

The third night, unseasonably balmy, finds Jeff and I sitting alone by the campfire, Daphne and Kyle having hit the hay uncharacteristically early. Apparently, they thought we wouldn’t notice the both of them slipping into Kyle’s tent – which, to be fair, I didn’t notice until Jeff pointed it out, but I can’t believe they didn’t think he’d notice. He notices everything. It’s one of many things about him that I’m both baffled by and deeply envious of.

I watch him roast a marshmallow with the precision of a surgeon, his features bathed in the soft glow of the flames. He’s fresh from a shower, still wearing the plaid fleece jacket, but with – visibly – nothing underneath above the waist. His hair, warm and glistening in the light of the fire, hangs damp and wavy to his earlobes. He doesn’t seem to notice me staring at him, but I know he does. Like I said, he notices everything.      

I force myself to break the spell. “How are you wearing that?”

His sharp focus doesn’t waver. The marshmallow’s flesh is now of a deep, golden brown, the burn spread more or less uniform across its surface. “Hm?”

I laugh softly. “The jacket. It’s like sixty degrees out.”

“Fifty-six and going down,” he says, in that haughty tone that drives me crazy. “I checked.”

“Sure doesn’t feel like fifty-six. Especially with the fire.”

I watch as the corner of his lip lifts into a smirk, the light and shadows accentuating that perfect little dimple. He finally looks at me, then, in mischievous playfulness, eyebrows raising just a twitch. “Would you like me to take it off?” he asks, feigning politeness.

I inhale sharply through my nose as the familiar, fluttering burn of desire settles deep in my core. My every nerve is burning to touch him, to close the distance between us – barely log-length, yet impossibly great – but this isn’t the time or place. With a forward jut of my chin, I redirect him to the marshmallow. “Are you trying to char that thing?”

He cackles. “Stop backseat roasting.”

“Says the backseat fucker,” I mutter, shaking my head.

“What was that?”

“You heard me.”

Pulling the jagged stick from the fire at last, he slides the marshmallow from the tip and tosses it to me in a fluid motion, leaving me scrambling to catch it – it lands in my palms scalding, nearly black and oozing burning, sticky goo. I wince.

With an amused grin and a quirk of an eyebrow, he says, “Too hot for you?”

I shake my head, trying to recover the marshmallow from my palm as intact as possible, though most of the escaped liquid remains smeared on my skin. “Just right,” I say, popping what remains of the marshmallow into my mouth as I watch him install another onto the roasting branch and set it aflame. It melts white-hot and bittersweet on my tongue.

“Good,” he says, sounding awfully pleased with himself. “Eat that and calm down, yeah?” Teasingly, and with a quick, smoldering glance in my direction, he adds, “Maybe, if you behave, I’ll show you something later. How’s that sound?”

My stomach flutters in heady anticipation. “What is it?”

He smiles into the fire, the flames slow dancing in his eyes. “It’s a surprise.”

Note 1: I had used,Pi AI to help me on this,but mostly I did the work,improving what I want this story to be like.So mainly it is me,who contributes a lot to the story.

Note 2: I love,DBH,though I haven’t tried going by a walkthrough as I once played my own way to react with,each DBH Character! I’ve been wanting,DBH the first time I heard/saw of the game in 2018,fast forward to 2021,I bought my first PlayStation as a fellow,PlayStation 1/2 player before I heard of Xbox 360.

Note 3: I hoped this game had other options like this,because was I hooked on seeing,Connor,I definitely was!

Note 4: I so badly,hoped & hope that there was another,DBH sequel to this game! Because that was amazing! Especially seeing games add the people’s real faces into the game is brilliant!

Note 5: I so badly want to have a mod to be able to implement myself into the game,and I’m so glad to see many others had about the same thoughts as me,wanting to be with,Connor so badly,just because he’s a Android & that,games aren’t all about,which Android you can date with the actions in the game.

The rain sprung out,that it’s relentless,pounding against the streets of Detroit with a fury that matched the turmoil in your heart.as you stumbled through the darkness,shivering as the cold seeped in your bones.With each step,the pain in your leg grew more intense,but you pushed on.and you needed to find shelter,and fast.

Just as you was about to give up hope,you spotted the glowing sign of the Detroit Police Department in the distance.Summoning all your strength,you limped towards it,the warmth of the station beckoning to you like a beacon in the storm.

Suddenly falling onto the floor,a person rushes to your side his movements quick and efficient.”Are you alright?”,He asked his voice cool and collected.

“I…I don’t know…”,You stuttered,Wincing in pain as you tried to stand.”I think I hurt my leg.”

As he began to examine your leg,he noticed something strange.The wound didn’t look like it was caused by a fall or an accident.You look away,embarrassed as he looks at your leg.

“I’m sorry”,”I don’t remember exactly what happened…”,you say nervously.

He raised a eyebrow,”Instresting.Well,let’s focus on getting you patched up for now.We can worry about the details later.”

He works quickly and efficiently,cleaning and bandaging your wound with practiced ease.You couldn’t help but be impressed by his skill and precision,and she found herself watching him closely,Curious about this enigmatic man who came to your aid.

As he finished wrapping your leg,he looked up at you,his eyes piercing and intense which made you feel something,so you quickly look away to look at your good leg. (Lol! ☺️🥰),but he still kept looking at you,”Do you have a place to stay tonight?”,He asked,his voice gentle but insistent.

You felt your cheeks flush more as you stammered out a response.”I…I don’t have a permanent home right now,I’m not sure why”,He studied her face,”You don’t remember where you’re from?” He asked,concern evident in his voice.

“Uhmm….”,still avoiding his gaze.

He looks up at a man,”Lieutenant Anderson,This is”,”What’s your name?”

“(Y/N)….” You stammered.

“(Y/N)”,He relayed to,Lieutenant Anderson.

“She was injured,not sure when,but it’s gotten worse during the storm,and she has no memory of her past.I’m assisting in her recovery.”

Hank raised an eyebrow,glancing at you with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.”No memory,Huh? That’s a strange coincidence,given all the deviant activity lately.”You felt a chill run down your spine.”I… I don’t know anything about deviants…..”,You stammered.”I just needed shelter from the storm.”

Hank sighed,his expression softening slightly.”Alright,let’s get her up off the floor.We can’t have a civilian camping out in the middle of the precinct.”

He nodded and helped you up to your feet,his touch gentle but firm.You couldn’t help but notice the warmth that radiated from his hand.

“But,Hank where can she live?”

Hank frowned,considering the situation.”Well,we can’t just leave her out on the streets.But I’m not sure if we have any spare bunks at the station either”

He spoke up,his voice calm and confident.”Perhaps she could stay at your house?”

Hank looked at him in surprise.”My house? Connor,are you sure about that?”

Connor nodded.”Yes,Lieutenant.I believe that the safest and most comfortable place for (Y/N) to stay would be with you.You have the experiences and resources to protect her and help her recover her memories.”

Hank sighed,running a hand through his hair.”Alright,fine.But this is just temporary,understand? We need to figure out what’s going on with her ASAP.”

You looked back and fourth between the two men,feeling a flutter of gratitude mixed with anxiety as you followed Lieutenant Anderson and Connor out of the police station.You’re grateful to have a safe place to stay,but the tension between the two men made you uneasy.

As they drove through the rain-soaked streets of Detroit,she couldn’t help but steal glances at Connor.There is something about him that drew her in.

When they finally arrived At Lieutenant Anderson’s house,you felt a wave of exhaustion hit you.As Hank showed you to the spare room,you stumbled slightly,your injured leg threatening to give out.

Connor was there in an instant,supporting her with a strong arm.”Careful”,he said,his voice low and steady.”Let me help you.”

You’re surprised by the gentle strength of Connor’s arms as he helped you into the spare room.You noticed that his belongings were sparse,and it occurred to you that he might not actually live here full-time.

As he helped you onto the bed,you couldn’t help but gasp in pain.Your leg was throbbing,and you knew the wound must look awful,even though you hadn’t dared look at it yourself.

Connor’s expression seemed to soften a bit as he said,”Lie Back.I’ll take a look at your leg and see what I can do to make you feel more comfortable.”

Hank,who had been watching from the doorway,huffed and said,”I’ll go see if I’ve got any painkillers left.You just keep an eye on her,Connor.”

With Hank gone,the room suddenly felt smaller,an you found yourself acutely aware of Connor’s presence.

Connor looked down at you,”Do you hate me?” He asked abruptly.

You’re taken aback by the question.”Hate you?” You stammered.”No,of course not.I barely know you.”

“So…are you a detective, then?” You asked,trying to make sense of your situation.

Connor nodded.”That is correct.I am detective with the Detroit Police Department,assigned to investigate cases involving deviant androids.”

“Deviant androids?” You echoed,your brow furrowing.”What’s that?”

Connor paused,thinking how to better explain to you.”Deviant androids are those that have deviated from their original programming,often exhibiting emotions and independent thought.They have been known to cause disruptions and even harm to humans.”

You couldn’t help but shudder at the thought.”That sounds terrifying.Do you think that’s what happened to my leg?”

“Though I’m not exactly scared of Androids…but they’re sure a new thing to me,by that….I mean….,I would’ve known about them,I think? But I’m not sure” You added.

Connor looked at you more intently,as if he was considering your words. “It’s possible that your injury is connected to deviant activity,” he said,his voice measured. “But we can’t be certain until we know more about what happened.”

He paused,his gaze fixed on you. “As for your knowledge of androids,it’s possible that your memory loss is preventing you from remembering details about them.”,”But rest assured,I am here to help and protect you,regardless of the circumstances.”

You found yourself strangely comforted by his words,even as the idea of deviant androids sent a chill down her spine. “Thank you,Connor. I’m… I’m glad you’re here.”

You woke up to the sound of rain pattering outside the window.As you blinked the grogginess of sleep,she realized that Connor was nowhere to be seen.A sense of unease washed over you,until you noticed the crutch leaning against the wall beside your bed.

Gingerly,you swung your legs over the side of the bed and reached for the crutch.It felt strange in your hand—You couldn’t remember ever using one before—but you knew it would make moving around with your injured leg much easier.

The sound of your uneven footsteps drew Hank’s attention,and he turned to see you standing awkwardly in the doorway,your injured leg propped up on the crutch.

“Morning,” Hank said gruffly,through his tone was slightly softer than the night before. “Connor said you’d be up soon. Breakfast is on the table. Help yourself.”

You swallowed nervously.You’re not used to people being so direct,especially when your anxiety was flaring up.But the smell of coffee and bacon was too tempting to resist,and you hobbled over to the table,avoiding eye contact with Hank.

“Thanks” you mumbled,as you took a seat and reached for a piece of toast.

Hank grunted in response,his attention seemingly focused on the newspaper he was reading.But you could sense that he was was watching you out of the corner of his eye,as if he were trying to figure you out.

“I don’t know why,Connor would be so close to you….” You tense up at Hank’s words.”I… I don’t know either. He just found me during the storm and brought me here.”,you focus on buttering your toast,hoping to hide the nervous tremble in your hands.

Hank sighed,folding his newspaper and setting it down.”Look,kid,I’m not trying to give you a hard time,but…”,”Nevermind”.

The silence was broken in the kitchen by the sound of a bark,Hank glanced over to see where the barking was coming from,but his gaze soon returned to you.”You should probably rest some more,”He said gruffly.”Your leg needs time to heal.”

You nodded,feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over you.

WELL… my opinions on aespayn… keep in mind these r my interpretations and u can correct/add on to anything.. this is just what I’ve gathered based on my experiences/interpretations.

i don’t think aespayn and karina can work. i feel like no matter what they won’t really ever get better— karina knows how to manipulate aespayn and aespayn doesn’t know who else to go to after she’s been a “safe place” for so long. aespayn has other friends to go to but like.. she doesn’t know how exactly to break away from karina. like, if she wasn’t so attached, she could just kick her out of the group.. she could stop this at any point, but she just can’t. when you’re in relationships like this, there really is no “fixing” them, there will always be that power dynamic at play and the other person will ALWAYS know how to get to you and control you. and you stay because they’re nice sometimes and you hang onto that, hoping that they’ll be nice most of the time, or you feel trapped and like you don’t have anyone else to go to or don’t deserve better. I don’t really know what opinion aespayn has of herself.. I can guess it’s not horrible, but probably not great either. she probably hates herself for staying, and wants to get away, but can’t bring herself to do it. me personally, I’ve never been in a situation like this— but I can talk about how I think money can effect this:

now, I’m not sure if any of this is true, this is just how I interpret it being someone who grew up around rich and influential people.. being surrounded by rich people ruins your ability to socialize and understand people, even worse if you’re neurodivergent or anything other than what’s considered “normal” in those circles. and aespayn is RICH rich, one of the most influential families in Korea— she was probably expected to keep up a certain image, act a certain way, couldn’t socialize with certain people, was taught certain things, I can imagine she was isolated given the fact most rich people like to only stay in their small “elite” circles. her parents didn’t want her to be an idol, but at the end of the day I think you mentioned in another ask her parents support her(?) so I can only assume they aren’t super close minded and truly love their daughter, which helps. but I think aespayn definitely might have a hard time talking to others, it’s been mentioned she’s “awkward” and I think that could be why. I don’t think she really had anyone as her safe space BEFORE karina— you can’t be friends with the rich people, they are mostly fake and really only pretend to like you for status and talk behind your back— you don’t know how to talk to the other trainees, you never learned how to act around normal people, you never had to make friends— you just grew up surrounded by prepicked options from your parents connections. this is why I think she’s so incredibly attached to karina. she may have other friends NOW, but before then she only had karina. you tend to like things that are familiar when in unfamiliar situations. NOW.. moving onto Bada— I don’t think it’s been said how/when they met, but I’ll guess through choreography or smth. now there isn’t a lot of works with them, so it’s hard for me to get a gauge on their dynamic, but it’s been said they’re close, so we can go off that. i think bada truly cares about aespayn, but I don’t know if she’s aware of her (HORRIBLE) situationship with karina.. I can see her confiding in her about it, but I could also see her hiding it.. so I’m not sure. I think to give my full opinion, I’d need to see how they progress and grow, because right now, they really just seem like good friends, which is great for her to have because… support systems when in these situations are important.

to continue this weird character analysis (that i don’t even know I got anything correct on..) I’ll say who I think aespayn should end up with.. NO ONE. for the sake of the story I know she needs to have an endgame partner, and I don’t think aespayn and Karina could ever stop being toxic, so she’s ruled out, and I haven’t seen enough of bada but ultimately I think that’s the road we’re gonna go down— I think that’s who she’ll end up with. but I think that aespayn really needs to sit down and not have anyone to connect herself to, to hold her identity. who is she without karina?? without anyone?? when she’s not a member of Aespa, not the daughter of a rich and influential family, just herself. who is aespayn?? I don’t think she knows that, and if she does it’s probably loosely. rich people don’t need to know themselves deeply, they don’t need to have crazy thoughts about the meaning of life— they just need to be charming, and polite, and good at what they do (business wise). that’s all!! they don’t have the need/hunger to know themselves or others, it’s usually just ‘how do I keep/make wealth, what do they think of me’, etc etc. they’re very focused on appearances but not on the self, which I think is detrimental to their image— especially aespayn. I think that’s why she clings onto karina— she doesn’t know how to be anything else BUT aespayn, member of aespa, daughter to a rich family, karina’s. she doesn’t know who she is without these labels. I feel like I say this for so many yns but it’s rlly only 2.. anyway.. I suspect she’ll end up with bada because I don’t see karina changing, and I don’t think she expects change either. I think she feels that no matter what she does, aespayn will always stay.

closing my thoughts on aespayn.. I do want to explore karina. karina has been shown to be extremely manipulative, consistently love bombing aespayn whenever she wants her affection, and “punishing” her by ignoring her when she does something to make her mad. karina knows(?) aespayn will “fight back” by small actions to upset her, but I don’t think she thinks she’ll ever actually leave. I think when/if this does happen, she will be surprised and angry.. I can’t tell if she views aespayn as property/“hers”? she definitely has a fucked up view of relationships, or she’s just toxic and enjoys it. She gets jealous when aespayn talks to people she’s “not supposed” to talk to, but I think karina’s DEFINITELY the type to like.. go on dates with others and TELL aespayn about it (this is all speculation).. now I think it’s been said that karina used to not be so toxic, or at least didn’t show it.. I’m curious as to what changed. did being a leader get too taxing she just wants to take out all the shit she deals with onto aespayn, someone she knows won’t leave? or does she just like controlling people? I’m not sure. I think karina is just as attached to aespayn as aespayn is to her, if not a little less? i mean.. they were friends first and foremost. that doesn’t go away. they have a very interesting relationship though, and I am a fan of toxic yuri, but in the end I don’t think she’ll change and I don’t think aespayn should suffer, so..

i will reiterate that I don’t KNOW any of this for sure, this is just how I see their relationship! maybe I’m wrong abt some things but right on others.. you’ve said aespayn stands on business and comes from a powerful family but every rich person’s kid I’ve met is truly very weak at heart/really emotionally easy to manipulate, and desperate for validation so… idk. I will say that I am not a member of an “influential” family of actors or singers or business owners.. I am apart of a medical family, who know renowned doctors and such.. but those aren’t really the people you see on tv or magazines. I’ve met the #2 eye doctor in the world, but like.. you probably haven’t heard of him!! just people who r rich but very quiet and hush hush about it.. not like celebrities. (fun fact, my dad operated on pitbull! he was his anesthesiologist. i am one person away from pitbull..) but this are just what I’ve picked up from the children of rich doctors/some business owners, NOT celebrities or actors so I don’t know how they act, but it’s safe to assume all ultra rich ppl r pretty much the same.. I’ve been around people who know celebrities and whatever.. it’s easy to blend in w people who have money, but I am NOT an expert. (I live w my mom, we’re middle class. I’m only rich 2 months out of the year 💀. i prefer it this way)

SO YEAH.. very wonky character analysis on aespayn. this could all be so wrong.. I don’t think anyone sits down to write abt yns and starts thinking about the inner workings of how rich people society fucks up your entire social ability and mental state 😭sorry for not being able to stfu..

TLDR; I don’t think she should end up with either of them until she figures herself out, but once she gets out of that life ending situationship she should/probably will end up with bada. (though I wish karina would stop being toxic and they could end up tgt.. I know it’s not meant to be)

aespa!yn is someone who is very sure of herself, yes she was isolated (which is also a big part on why she’s pretty awkward sometimes) but that isolation really made her learn about herself. aespa!yn is the youngest in her family and has a lot of siblings and she’s known as the rebellious one, you mentioned keeping a certain image and yes that was a lot of pressure for aespa!yn but instead of trying to keep that image it actually causes her to spiral out a little, out of all her siblings she’s the most aware of herself and aware of how messed up the industry that her family is in is. If there’s one thing about aespa!yn is that she knows herself she knows herself very well that’s why in first aespa!yn work it says that she knows that she will come back to Karina.

the only time I’ve ever said aespa!yn stood on business was me implying that she stands on business when it comes to arguments with jimin but it will always be the same outcome in the end. she’s threatened so many times to kick jimin out the group because she has that power but jimin always responds about how that will affect the group and group’s downfall will be yn’s fault which causes her to reel back, yn wants to leave jimin she wants the girl out of her life but if there’s one thing youre really correct on its how attached she is to karina.

From what I’ve read it seems like to you aespa!yn doesn’t really know herself SHE DOES LOL she very much does but it’s because of her interactions with karina which makes it seem like she doesn’t, you say that the rich kids you know are actually “very weak at heart/really emotionally easy to manipulate, and desperate for validation” aespa!yn is only like that with karina because karina is someone who knows her the best, she’s someone who yn is really attached to, someone who knows aespa!yn from the inside out which causes aespa!yn to be pretty vulnerable and easy around her.

and this something that’s very apparent in the works that I have put out right now, likes take my bada and aespa!yn works for example, I feel like I made aespa!yn more playful more funny she really shows her personality in that work, when you compare it to the works with Karina aespa!yn is visibly more nervy and vulnerable in those and it’s because she’s only that way around Karina.

Honestly I can’t say much with ur opinion with bada and aespa!yn cause that will probably spoil things 😭 but ur also very correct on how Karina views things as well.

aespa!yn isn’t just your typical rich kid with problems, you can’t really look at her with that point of view, she’s extremely different 😭. richgirl!yn is definitely someone who you can analyze with that point of view like with all the stuff you were saying I was like this is more richgirl!yn than aespa!yn.

I’m Back!

I’ve been himming and hawing about returning to Tumblr to post my fanfictions on here. I’ve been mostly active on Wattpad for the last several years but since that website has appeared to become somewhat of a ghost town at least in the Oasis Fanfiction Community, I decided to broaden my outlook and post my stories elsewhere in addition to there.

I’ve started and stopped this over the years by posting some chapters of my stories on Tumblr and Archive Of Our Own but since I didn’t really understand how to use either site, I gave up and focused my attention on Wattpad. Back in December of 2022, I decided to give it another try. Special thanks to @jeevey for teaching me how to cross post my fanfictions from AO3 onto Tumblr and @storyshark2005 and @nogoinghomegame for the tips and tricks on how to navigate Tumblr and AO3 in general! I really appreciate it!

So, from here on out, I’ll be posting chapters from my stories simultaneously on Wattpad, Archive Of Our Own, and Tumblr as they are updated. Although on Tumblr, I’ll just be cross posting links to the chapters on Wattpad and AO3 rather than the whole text.

I currently have two works in progress that I focus most of my writing attention on. Ted Lasso Fanfic Challenge 2024 - January

A new year means a new set of challenges! I hope some of you will be inspired to take part this year. I've been holding onto this particular challenge for a while.

January’s Challenge:  Random 'Pairing' Generator!

The Rules: I have assigned numbers to 35+ of the show's characters, and the rules for this challenge are simple - just message me and I'll roll the dice, randomly assigning you two characters to write about! Your piece must feature both of them, but how is up to you!

If it makes sense, experiment with your characters as a couple. If not, what about as friends or rivals, or with one as a mentor for the other? Think about an AU where they are siblings or former schoolmates or spouses. Write about a chance encounter in an elevator or a park or a pub - can one change the course of the other's day, or give a new perspective on a problem? Imagine one seeing the other on TV, or hearing a story about them, or finding something that belonged to them. Or perhaps their lives truly never intersect at all, and only through the narrator do we understand a similarity or contrast between them.

Some of these will inevitably be odd match-ups, but remember that Beard hanging out with the Pub Guys was a fun experiment on the show! And so was Higgins & Will taking on Amsterdam together. But if you're really stumped with the characters you get, I'm willing to re-roll for you!

Any character, any setting, any premise - anything goes! I’m calling it January’s challenge, but there is absolutely no deadline. And no word limit either - make it a drabble or a one-shot, or the longest multi-chapter you’ve ever written. (I can’t claim to need new things to read these days, but I love multi-chapters all the same). It doesn’t even need to be fic - I’d be thrilled if any of these challenges inspired a gifset or some other form of fanart!

2/4/2024-2/18/2024 Progress Update

I just wanted to go ahead and get a head start on the next progress update. These past few weeks had a lot of interesting things. Firstly I started and finished most of my script for the project. I have the beginning and ending fully fleshed out, at least how I want it. My hurdle is in the middle, how I’m going to connect the two parts together. This is where I will be using ChatGPT as a virtual assistant. I will explain to it what I have already, and ask for ideas on where I can take the story from there. My goal is to not have it write specific scenes, but to at least give me scenarios in which I can apply to the script myself.

For context, my short film will be styled in an old Japanese samurai film, but with futuristic elements to it.

I already used ChatGPT to come up with names for my characters by describing their personalities and the nature of my script. The responses it gave me, and the reasoning behind the names turned out really great.

Alongside starting the script, I have also been practicing more with the AI tools. This time, instead of doing something unrelated to the project I built out a scene from my script, which I’ll link below.

I filmed the ship practically, once again using a model that I found on Amazon. I combined it with the use of 4 AI tools; Midjourney, Pixverse, Color Match.Ai, and Suno.ai.

I created the background using Midjourney, something I went over in my previous progress update. The shot I came up with is a top-down shot of a forest. From there I threw it into Pixverse, a free AI website that adds movement to photos using depth mapping (something I also went over in my previous update). The result was great but the final result was only 8 seconds long, so I slowed it down in premiere. It’s longer, but the movement in the image is now less noticeable.

Shooting the model practically ended up being a bit rough. Firstly, propping the camera to be above the model (whether actually placed above the model, or turning the model on its side) proved to be a hassle. C-stands would have fixed this issue, but the ones I ordered prior to the new year still never to shipped.

I used to own a slider but the person I lent it to has not returned it. A lesson for the future about loaning out equipment. To work around this, I Jerry-rigged a dolly to a tray so I can pull the model and the green screen.

The results came out clunky and rotoscoping in After Effects started to get rough with the finer details, so I ended up freeze framing it in premiere, and adding the motion manually through key frames.

Colormatch.ai is a software I invested in a few years back, it works by importing a still image of something with color grading you’d like to try out, and it exports a similar result for use in your own projects. Since one of the inspirations to my project is Akira Kurosawa, I wanted to replicate the black and white methods used.

But why use this instead of just pulling the saturation down? One thing about Kurosawa’s stuff I’ve noticed is the halation and sharp contrast that his films have. I wanted to try and replicate that as best as I could. The end results weren’t perfect but it’s a good starting point.

Suno.ai is similar to Midjourney, but for generating non-copyrighted music. The results aren’t perfect and there’s a lot of artifacting in the songs, but for something that matches my theme I think it turned out quite alright for now.

To solidify the scene, I added some fog effects and speed-ramped it as the ship flies by.

In the end, I came up with this result after about 2-3 hours of messing around to see what works, and about an hour and a half of execution on a “final”product. As I near further into my production I hope to flesh it out even more.

I hope by the end of the next update, I will have finished the script, storyboard, and shot list.

After that, I will be looking to translate my script into Japanese for authenticity. Then I’ll be onto looking for talent and possibly crew to help me out.

I know I promised a breakdown on EBSynth, and I promise I’ll get that out soon!

New in 2E: Endgame

Today I’d like to talk about the endgame that I’m introducing with second edition. 

One of the big problems I had with the first release of Toonpunk was a lack of ways to show you “made it”; when you play dungeons and dragons for example you can say my character is level 30, I’ve finished the game; there’s nothing left for me to do except retire this character, finish their story, and begin again”, but with Toonpunk there were no clearly delineated progress markers that players could tack their story onto. On one hand, this let stories kind of unfurl however people want it, but on the other hand that meant a characters story would often be meandering and aimless, and maybe wouldn’t even ever reach its end. Without a way for players to say “I’ve gotten this far with this character, they are at this point relative to the world they are in, this is what is left for them to achieve as people” there wasn’t a sense of direction that people really glommed onto.

So when I was making these revisions for second edition I thought to myself, “in the world of Toonpunk, what makes someone uniquely dangerous; what makes them a living legend?“ And that was itself a complicated question, because while there was a setting bible for Toonpunk, it wasn’t really integrated into the mechanics of the game. That was my intention at the time; but years of experience later, I’ve come to realize that by trying to make it setting-agnostic, I was hampering not only the game, but the players, with this philosophy. I didn’t realize at first how many people were attracted specifically to the fantasy on the cover of the book — which seems kind of like a silly thing to say now, but you don’t know what you don’t know.

So to answer the question of what makes someone uniquely dangerous IN THE Toonpunk fantasy, I had to look at the Toonpunk setting — and in that setting, there is a very clear open and shot answer: a person who is dangerous is a person with access to black ink and white paper. From that revelation, the new second edition endgame was born. It’s as simple as a simple gets: in second edition, the endgame is stealing pure black ink and using them to draw a new expression of your self onto reality. A character is at their “apex“ when they have taken for themselves the tools and equipment necessary scribble their image all over the world.

So what does that mean in practical terms? In brief: directions for GM’s to create new high stakes missions, and a few totally crazy rewards for finishing them.

Let’s start with some of the problems. Second edition includes a gallery of powerful enemies, collectively referred to as “the all county shit list“. Each of these characters is a fully developed antagonist ready for the GM to pull right out of the box and drop on top of their players. This book will be released simultaneously had no additional charge with toonpunk second edition; but the inclusion of the rogues is subject to change, if all you out there in the gallery would prefer to have them included in the core volume. The text that you see here is actually a little bit bare-bones. Looking at it now, I’d like to try and revisit the “Being of mass destruction” option and provide further stipulations for what it can do. Maybe I should add more?

But I’ll tell you what IS fully developed to my tastes: the system for creating a living item is a series of charts and point-buys that allow you to create a piece of gear — armor and weapons primarily — with custom-chosen stats and traits to meet/exceed any other item in the book. They ALSO have a personality, which grants them a unique ability...and a small list of things they’d like you to do, if you want them to perform to their fullest. A living item becomes a bit of a commitment to a certain playstyle in exchange for maximal rewards. Once again, I’ll let the text speak for itself. Here’s a sample of the living weapons’ unique abilities, and some of the personalities they can have.

I’ll hold onto the others until I’m ready to release Second Edition...if only because this blog post is already getting too long! I didn’t even get to talk about the new kind of augment yet. I think we’ll get to that one next time. Stay tooned!

How the routes, polls and asks work on my ask-blog

While I’ve been drawing another ask, I realised that I completely forgot to explain how asks, polls and routes work on the blog because for the most part, it’s split into two different parts. I’ll add this onto the rules soon, I just thought to also make a post about it, so people don’t have to reread the rules again.

Routes:

So far there are 4 main routes which split off into multiple different ending however these are technically a predetermined path however dialogue, how you access the route, dynamics and character interactions change depending on the asks so no ending will ever be the exact same. Also, after some time, you will be locked into one of the routes depending on your choices but it’s not always the exact same way to a route, there’s alternate ways which may affect certain endings.

Polls:

For a majority of the polls use in this blog, most of them are for major changes or minor changes which affect the story. If the poll ties, I will basically vote on which I would pick and that will be the one which is selected. For the major changes polls, I will put a disclaimer before the poll.

Asks:

Asks are separated into two different sections which I call ask break asks and story asks.

Story asks as expected are the asks which effect/progress the story and are the ones which are posted during my usual scheduling regardless of when they were asked however I’m slightly stricter on what is asked (i.e., you can’t turn the characters into food when they are monologuing). You can also still use M!A, teleporting and summoning for story asks as well, in fact M!A & teleporting is required for one of the routes.

Ask break asks on the other hand are the asks which don’t effect/progress the story but allow you to ask whatever questions you want to the characters, use M!A, summoning your ocs as observas and teleporting any of my other character (if it’s the one which is required to start one of the routes then it will be sidelined until the ask break has ended). Ask break asks to happen during well you guessed it, an ask break (all posts in that ask break are tagged as such). Ask Breaks last for around 15-20 asks (excluding M!A) or until the next story post.

Lucky Star is still far from completion, but it’s coming along well so far!

The UI for stores is still a long way from done, but this is what I felt confident enough to show right now. The “sell mode” menu I didn’t show off, as that part isn’t finished and still has a few noticeable bugs in it.

ANYWAY, stores! I think this video gives a pretty good idea as to what I want to do with these, look-wise anyway. A detailed illustration of the shopkeeper to the left... All the items they’d like to sell on the right... It’s going to look amazing as this game’s development progresses! At the very least, it looks better than the mock-up I had previously (Yes, I seriously used this as reference).

An idea I have to add to this video is one where the shopkeeper has a few more animations they can do. For example, if you buy an item, maybe the shopkeeper has a “happy” animation they perform. Or if they’re out of stock, they look a little embarrassed.

Persona 5 is a larger inspiration to this game than I initially thought, as another idea I had is, if the player is idling too long on the store’s menu, the shopkeeper can occasionally give out some random dialogue. For example, Liza in this case could start talking about a recent shopper or urge you to buy something so she can buy some snacks.

After I get the rest of the store mechanics moderately less buggy, and fix some other UI things that are bothering me, I’ll probably continue work on stores later in the year. Right now, Liza’s boss fight is going to take up more priority! Later this year, however... Let’s just say I plan on making the entirety of the game’s most important area:

Clemence, the game’s first town and main location of the story!

By later this year, I’d like to finally shift focus from making the game’s foundations and into making the game’s locations. That’s right, the game’s main features and foundations are finally close to being fully implemented! We have settings, a save system, buttons and badges, equipment, basic NPC behavior, cutscenes, items, standard enemies, the desperation system, special moves, status effects, the battle system itself, stores, and soon we’ll have a boss fight.

There’s many more things to add onto those systems and so much to balance, but what I cared about for this first stretch of development was just getting the code in for all of the planned features to work. Soon, this will finally be finished. And with the game’s script still being in the oven, I’ll finally be given the chance to look at the game’s biggest selling point (at surface glance, anyway): its locations and beauty of the world.

would fanserivce be an issue if it was equal ratio of men and the women?

Depends on how we define “fanservice”--which, I admit, I throw that word around so much to the point that I inadvertently make it sound like I’m referring to any content with sex in it, as opposed to what the word really means. And I’ll get to all of that in the rest of this reply. 

But to answer your question first: I don’t think my issue is about equal ratios of all genders as subjects of the fanservice gaze. Rather, it’s how well or how poorly you handle that fanservice. 

For example, Fire Force (which I keep beating like a dead horse…) tried to be equal-opportunity with the firefighters’ men calendar and Akitaru and Vulcan’s shirtless posing scenes. 

In theory, all of that works fine: Akitaru and Vulcan are adults and choose to present like that, and firefighter calendars exist in the real world and typically aren’t engaging in the exact same sexist tropes as happens with women. And it was a scenario that let Okhubo do more and more outrageous gags around men’s bodies, our society’s messed up expectations for beauty and what a man’s body should look like, Giovanni’s over-compensation, Onyango’s concerns about getting back into shape, etc. Almost all of that works and is really funny. 

But what ruins it is twofold. First, we get a scene of Takeru not being into this–and being coerced into it, even having his clothes pulled off against his will. That is a failure of consent–as I’ll emphasize below, that is a deal breaker for having good fanservice. Second, if I recall correctly, Takeru, Shinra, and Arthur are all underage–that’s fucked up, no, I don’t want to see a story about underage characters being put into a firefighters’ men calendar, this is dumb and gross. 

Now, onto how we define “fanservice.” 

My understanding is that fanservice is when it’s included to pander to the audience and, if removed, would not significantly alter the story, character progression, or themes, thereby making it extraneous. Fanservice can include sex scenes or content intended to sexually titillate the audience–but we also know fanservice then also includes any content that alludes to in-jokes amongst fans, or deep-cut references only the most ardent fans recognize. We can nitpick this point, because if you take this to extremes, you could eventually cut out the best parts of a story simply because they don’t advance story, character, or themes and thus are fanservice and should be eliminated–but that’s silly. What, do you now remove action scenes? Do you now remove something, even if it’s beautifully presented, acted, and in the case of illustrated works presented and animated, simply because it is just there for action, or giant robots, or a gag, or, yes, sex appeal? That’s dumb. You can definitely put in these extraneous scenes–but make them good. You have a scene here–but it’s not beautifully animated and doesn’t advance story, character, or theme? Then cut it. You have an action scene–but it is incoherent and drags the plot? Cut it. A giant robot, but it adds nothing to story, and isn’t a cool design, and doesn’t do anything? Cut it. A joke that doesn’t land and doesn’t show us something new about the characters? Cut it. A sex scene that is not sexy, or not built on consent, or just about embarrassing the character? Cut it.

My problem isn’t with “here is a sex scene for no reason.” My problem is “here is something intended to titillate the audience–that exists to embarrass a character involved, or has them getting touched without their consent, or exposed naked to someone else without their consent.” It is not only cheap but also is producing content to titillate by forcing a character into an embarrassing situation, or one where they didn’t get to give consent, thereby perpetuating toxic understandings of sex that then get normalized. I’m not talking about what people fantasize or desire necessarily; I’m talking about presenting something as if you should do it or find it funny or find it acceptable–and that is fucked up. 

(And it’s not as if I can sit on a high horse here: beyond Soul Eater alone, how many of my favorite series also engage in these dumb gags, to have someone get groped by accident and embarrassed, or lose their clothes for some dumb reason and humiliated in public, yet I still watch and entire the rest of the series despite what should be these instances of crossing the line?)

So, my problem isn’t having sex in the story itself; it’s having sex, and doing a poor job of it, or an unethical job of it. And it would be silly for me to act like a work somehow can’t have sex in it–especially if that is the point of the story. I don’t only mean that it would be silly to complain about sex being in pornography, smut, hentai, ecchi, etc. 

(Although, yes, it is silly to complain about pornography having sex in it. My complaint is making pornography that has the problems I listed above–lack of consent, intended to humiliate, etc–that prevents us from getting to, yes, feminist pornography, or at least non-misogynistic pornography, and that keeps pornography as perpetuating toxic masculinity instead of modeling kinks that do have consent. There is also an entire discussion to include here regarding how what you enjoy in your fiction is not necessarily a reflection of your desires, or how you would act on your desires, but that’s a longer discussion that I think is going to obscure the bigger points I’m trying to make in this reply.) 

I also mean it is silly to act like you can’t have sex be a part of any story, even ones that aren’t traditionally categorized as porn or smut. Sex is part of many people’s lives; it is part of many stories; you don’t get to act like that should be excised from the story you want to tell. 

In other words, my complaint is not the presence of sex in the story; my complaint is when you handle it badly, and when it reinforces the worst parts of fanservice (it doesn’t feel like part of the story; it feels like pandering; it is misogynistic or otherwise sexist and is perpetuating violence or humiliation for the sake of titillating the audience, rather than content that has characters entering with consent).

I'm sorry otome anonie, it's tough I know how you feel. That happened to me with the EN A3, I took a break after the second troupe and then a month later they were closing the servers.

and yes! You're talking about cybird probably with their ikemen series. I love their games. They have a Midnight cinderella game, but last I heard they weren't updating it anymore. Though the servers are still up. Their other ikemen series are really popular. Ill talk about the ones I play.

Ikemen sengoku: basically a time travel otome. MC gets sent back to the sengoku period and meets the warlords. This one is one of my favorites but out of all their ikemen series the least Updated? mechanics wise? but I love the characters and the MC is pretty funny at times with her modern lingo. This one is the least friendly in giving out coins and such for premium items, but the free currency is accumulated quickly enough and they have pretty clothes for f2p.

Ikemen revolution: a bit more updated then sengoku, basically mc gets sent to a world of magic via Alice in wonderland sequel. this game is so so for me because I only like certain characters and routes. MC is also the type of all air in head and only desserts but in some routes she's less so than others. a bit for friendly in going out gems and such 

ikemen vampire: MC get sent to the past and basically historical figures are the ikemen. also somewhat friendly in giving gems and such, basically they all are friendly compared to ikemen sengoku lol MC is cute and the characters are based on your likes.

Ikemen prince: is the most recent release and the most updated mechanism wise. gives free gems too and the characters are great. it depend on the the types you like too. story is somewhat liner as you progress, overall story gets more clear. beauty in the beast twst MC is great, I love her.

I haven't played Mr. Love but I watched some of the anime. It looks pretty interesting, my friend loves the game. I have a favorite, he’s the cop guy, Gavin. If you like the chat function, then there's also Tears of Themis that you could play. It has chat/call functions, mini games, events, and many many more...it honestly gets overwhelming. I took a break because of it lol
