I just realized that if it wasn’t for my parents, I would be spending new years alone.

I just tried to see if there were any family get together plans for New Year’s Day and just about every one in my extended family will be spending it with their immediate families.

Which caused me to question what would I do if I didn’t have anyone tospend the evening with.

I have made the grand decision that if I have no one to spend the Eve with then I’ll just be a cryptid and lurk at the local cemetery.

After three days worth of work, and a whopping 26 hours of pen to tablet drawing time (according to procreate), I present: them.

I was originally going to do no references, but then I decided I didn’t hate myself. Then I was going to do no symmetry tool, but then I decided I didn’t hate myself. Not all of these are perfect, but I’m glad I finished it!

Hello hi I’ve got a batch of Cryptid Sightings self-indulgence here

The first doodle is extra self-indulgent, because I love Purge and I think CS! Sun/Moon would love it too. I’d recommend giving it a listen!! I may or may not have an entire notes doc on how the lyrics fit them perfectly.

Oh, and on the second!! A little fun fact that was too minute to squeeze in there. The reason Sun/Moon are huddled in a blanket is because the hunter wanted them to get the Experience™️ of movie watching. Only they’re too big. Notice those patches? The hunter ended up just giving them their whole comforter instead hhshdhdkj

Not much to say on the third, other than that it’s a reference to this. The hunter doesn’t have a kid (probably), but if they did, you know they’d find a way to relate the name to a cryptid of some kind.

Hmmmmm I don’t want to say too much. I have Time’s origin like 80% written and the art is done so I plan on posting it later today (of course, now that I’ve said that, I’ve jinxed myself and It won’t happen). But I can give a little more haha!

I don’t have a full playlist, but I’ve tried to find music that I think fits the Cryptid Au Links. I challenged myself to look beyond Zelda music! But I fell back into Zelda music anyway…

For Time, I have two pieces that I think could be his theme! They are: The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Orchestra: Gerudo Valley (honestly one of my favorite pieces of all time) and Shenandoah by Frank Ticheli . They’re very different pieces haha, but Time’s a pretty complex guy I think.

Time is a great leader! He puts the others first and always seems to know what he’s doing (even if he’s actually clueless). Even back before the others knew he was a God, it was hard to deny his authority. He’s strong and steadfast, fully committed to whatever he decides is worth his attention.

That being said, he’s far from perfect. He may know a lot, but he doesn’t know everything, and that can lead to a lot of mistakes on his end. He just genuinely does his best… even if it’s not good enough. With dominion over the flow of time, he knows that there are some things that just can’t be helped. Lives will be lost. Friend will disappear. And even as a God, there’s nothing he can do to escape that.

… sometimes, he just feels so useless.

I’m feeling so much kinship with my plants right now.

My idiot brain has decided that it’s clearly autumn, now that we’re heading back into chilly wintery weather after a warmer false spring.

My beloved idiot babies, i.e. my air plants, ferns & ZZ plants, have all been going hog wild sending out new growth & popping off new pups since the arctic blast as if it was the middle of spring.

This is an apartment of NO seasonal awareness and no brain cells (though I guess that’s more a problem for me than the greenery) and we’re all confused.

I have an idea- which is never a good thing but that’s getting off topic.

I’ve been toying with the concept of a couple new characters (Poptropica obviously)

So my idea is having one be a child, ready to take on a new adventure and defeat villains, so basically a player character. Standard poptropican adventurer basically.

And another character that I want to represent tutorials that show this player what to do (childhood nostalgia my beloved). On an unrelated note how would you feel about a more cryptid design?

okay so there are robots in the ACAU, but they vary a ton based on who & what they’re made for. The main ones i talk about Miles destroying are robots that were made in secret by Alchemax, which was going to become like the Alchemax of 2099 before Miguel showed up, and he calls just calls them “prototypes”. more info under the cut bc it got long

They’re actual weapons, and are used to attack/kidnap whoever Alchemax wants them to without them getting an actual human’s hands dirty. These robots are not very smart but very strong, and can still be a huge threat bc of the weapons they can use, and have been programmed to not hunt down Peter and Miles because Alchemax just can’t risk them blowing shit up again and exposing their other experiments to the world (there’s more to it but that’s their main fear as a company), but can attack if they just so happen to run into them, and are programmed to self destruct if they realize they can’t win a fight or risk getting exposed to the public (usually already destroyed before they can do that lol)

The other robots, the ones that aren’t trying to kill anybody, are usually for cleanups, repairs, search & rescues, and constructions that are too dangerous for a human, and are a bit small and don’t have a human appearance at all. Think of the robots in Wall-E, that’s the most common style they’re made in and the. distributed to the better funded public services (private stuff gets more specialized, custom-looking, expensive robots) Some are simply created for companionship or servitude, which can actually be bought in some stores by anybody who can afford it. All of these robots are also mainly created by Alchemax!

Miguel knows what becomes of these Prototypes, so he and the duo try multiple ways to destroy them completely so their final versions don’t exist in the future to take away from the future’s already huge problem, but since altering the past is a delicate operation, unwanted things keep happening instead, some more horrible than others. So Miguel keeps having to jump back to Miles and Peter’s time and try something new. It ranges from a few hours to a few days for Miguel to come back to them and update them, but for Miguel, it can range weeks to months because he actually needs to be have the actual portal to time travel each time (but sometimes he does have to actually seek out what else changed in the future which takes a while)

and btw when I say Alchemax, i don’t mean every single worker, because around 80% of them don’t even know about the Prototypes or other insidious parts of the company, they’re just normal ass employees lmfao. well most of them.
