I’m kinda sorta working on more (comprehensible) TS OC stuff in between studying right now… I wanna hurry and talk about them but without info dumping (if given the opportunity I will without hesitation 😔…) because in terms of the best stories I have conjured up for OCs in general Naudedel and Noble are surprisingly good and I’m very excited to share how deranged they are together…

Right now it’s just about making Naudy readable and working on extra fun stuff… like monsters!

I’m trying to work out his “monster” form…. The concept is there, but the execution is just not ticking the right boxes for me right now… also, the line art at the end is old and probably will go unused, but thought it was something to add here because like hehe look at my deranged son :)

When it comes to the writing I'm going to split it into two chapters. The first half will be a summary+ of his upbringing, and the second on how he fucked up his arm and why. Just enough info to get a read on what his deal is pretty much. I just need to edit the first chapter and rewrite some parts then it's ready to annoy the world!

I'm trying to think of a good design for his original mother... I'm thinking dark hair and milf (¬‿¬)･ﾟ✧ ... honestly I need to start drawing out the designs for all the other TS OCs I've accumulated over the year (?) here's a fun list-

Hickery (bloodhound OC... dilf oc...I've already been made fun of for his name, but it stuck to me so I'm keeping it!)

There are technically more OCs, like that Hightown lady Noble befriended during their first few weeks in town. However, I'm not sure if I'm including her in the final plot meeting. But yeah, anyway I'm rambling so on to Noble news!

For Noble, everything is plotted out in advance surprisingly…character playlist and all... just need to find the words to explain their story other than “parasite with a weird God complex feels guilty” I do have some old memes and art of them though!

I actually wrote out a whole little thing for the black dress in a what-if scenario of...

"Oh! ,,,What if there is a masquerade in Hightown and Noble sneaks in to get some information on a certain individual who might know a thing or two about curses, but turns out the whole event if devious and their all eating babies or some fucked up shit,,,, and what if while sneaking around they see Leander and are like 'what's he doing here?' and they lock eyes but he ignores them as he ducks into a closed off area with some important looking people,,, once he comes out he walks past them and they lock eyes again as he leaves,,, Noble chases after him and once they catch up they get to see his cold and detached side right before he hides them from the other guest,,, after they talk for a bit, or more like Leander talking over them and their worries as he slowly wipes their memories while they protest that it's not fair only to wake up the next day back in their room,,, thankfully their curse is good for more then just silly bouts of insanity so they have a hunch on what happened, everyone around them who knew where they went the night before were obviously worried and the general consensus is that they might have been drugged and should go check in with Kuras just in case (wow this is getting long...) but on their way to the clinic they run into Leander and of course discusses their current problem with him ,,, words are exchanged,,, a kabedon may occur,,, as he whispers in their ear,,, all fun till he erases their memories again, or at least tires before receiving a little gift that makes him look at this whole curse thing from a different angle." DEEP BREATH! ...Anyways... yeah.

But it was taking so long to write out that I ended up losing motivation so yeah... like everything else we will pray the motivation comes back so I can finish that... plus who knows, I might make an x reader version of it if I can. (don't hold your breath... I'm extremely slow)

Howdy Slay the Princess friends! I wanted to show off my Voices designs, they’re still very likely to change cause I’m still not quite happy with all of them, but I hope you enjoy them! :3c

Explanations and a few extras below the cut! :) (This ended up being a kinda long post so be warned!)

For the most part I try to use the same body shape for all of them, with the only differences being their accessories and some beak variation. None of them have wings either- I don't like drawing them that much so they're reserved for TLQ

Alright here we go- explanation time!

Hero - Knight's helmet based on the default warrior class helmet from Miitopia, no clue if the feather, ponytail, thing... is his actual feathers or part of the hat and I probably never will. I love how he looks even if the helmet sucks to draw

Broken - Shackle and chain around his neck, not much to say about this guy, I was a bit worried it was too similar to the Prisoner's shtick at first but it's grown on me

Contrarian - Jester's cap, the most common defining accessory I saw for him in fanart and thought it fit. Probably gonna change him cause the current iteration doesn't feel quite right. (Either hat redesign or something new)

Opportunist - A tie and ripped dress shirt, I wanted a smarmy business-ey feel for him but didn't think a nice shirt would fit in with the aesthetic of the game, so I gave him a ripped one (he probably found it on the ground somewhere)

Paranoid - Perfume pendant, I adore this concept but have had a hard time conveying it properly. The pendant is filled with smelling salts in case he needs to wake someone up. I want to keep this concept so much but I know it has to go through a few more designs cause I don't really know what it's supposed to look like. Planning on adding another necklace and maybe a clock?

Smitten - A shawl with heart shaped embroidery and a flower broach, I... Don't know how to feel with this one? It doesn't quite fit Smitten's exuberance but I don't know what I would give him instead. Will probably change later if I do come up with something better

Hunted - Hooded cloak, for camouflage :0 (it's a very short cloak though basically only covers his shoulders.) I drew him twice so you could see both versions, realistically he'd always have the hood up but I find it hard to draw and doesn't look as good so I don't bother, (it probably looks weird because the hooded version is missing the feather tufts, I added a quick sketch of the hood with them below)

Cold - A hole in his chest (shamelessly based on Mad Rat Dead,) Cold didn't seem like the type to have any worldly possessions so this was the most literal way I could convey his 'heartless' personality, it is kinda bending my rule of giving all these guys unique accessories but it fits him quite well so I don't mind

Skeptic - Detective hat, this is another one that I think looks a bit weird due to the lack of tufts (version with them below) and I don't know how well this fits his personality, but Skeptic is probably the voice I'm least familiar with so I'm kinda just ignoring redesigning him until I get a better grip on his character (I also don't really know how to draw this hat- I tried my best lol)

Cheated - Cut off tuft and scars, I had a really hard time coming up with this one and I'm still not quite sure how I feel about it. It's another one that bends my rule of having accessories but I couldn't think of anything to put on him that fit the vibe of 'Being salty from repeatedly losing to someone using hacks in a game.' (Yes, that's how I summarize Cheated's personality lol)

Stubborn - ...Isn't here, Oops? Yeah, you probably noticed but I don't actually have a design for him yet. I might give him a cape? idk. He's another voice I don't really have a good grasp on, I have to play through his chapters again :')

Anyways! I had put my sort of 'design rules' for these guys in an older version of this post but I ended up not vibing with it so I edited it out- I like the post a lot better without all the excess stuff

And finally as the send-off to the post (and a thanks for reading all) here's the extra bits! My one Long Quiet full body, the Hunted and Skeptic sketch with their tufts, and a bonus Opportunist cause I realized you can't really tell what the shirt looks like lol

I seriously need to find out what movies you watch/stuff you read in your formative years or who hurt you that you manage to string the most painful sentences possible to articulate in human language and cause this heartwrenching pain on my heart. Forget about yn girl I'M about to have a heart attack.

It's crazy. Like I'm heartbroken and I'm pissed and I'm hopeful and I'm hurt and I want justice for my girl yn. I still don't know if I want them together but I just want her happy because my god does your stuff not wreck me🥲 Your work makes us feel so many things at the same time, I'm just in awe.

I don't even mean this in a mean or rude way but I hate angst and I still stick around like a stubborn tick when it comes to all your stories because your work just is that evocative.

On a personal basis, does writing so much pain not hurt you? I hope this doesn't sound mean omfg but as a reader, consuming a story so painful can do a number on my brain chemistry. I can't imagine how it feels to come up with these scenarios, write them, edit and rewrite them and then continuing the pain?? Group hugs for you and yn. 🥹

Long story short congratulations on being such a wonderful writer SY has ruined me and I will never forget it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I will never recover😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I will still lock tf in for all your work tho🫶🏻

gaaah i can’t recommend a good angsty movie/book/manhwa right now to you bcos nothing’s coming up in my head. but i do have a preference on consuming stuff that has neglect, cheating, unrequited love, and similar themes! and i guess that shows in my writings as well :’) also a lot of my works do stem from personal experiences so there’s that!

i think i’m at a point where writing too much angst has numbed me. but then again, i still cry when i’m writing heavy emotional scenes bcos i rly do get into it 🤧 i’d even listen to the playlist too so it hurts me more. like sy!yn has been screaming for a good ending for sooo long and here i am constantly wrecking her spirit every chapter bcos i enjoy that sting in my heart. it makes me feel more human :)))

(i love angst and i am truly one with pain. i know it’s obvious but i really can’t live without it. and the funny thing is, when i feel like i’m “too happy” with my current relationship, i’d ask my bf to make me sad and upset or pretend to hurt my feelings LMAOOO that’s how crazy i am for angst. i literally crave for it, it’s insane and idk why.)

do you have any tips on how to start writing fics?

the outsiders brainrot actually has me coming up with ideas and i have a desire to start writing them into actual stories but i've never written outside of class papers/assignments and i don't really know where/how to start since it's all just my own prompts and ideas and there's no grading rubric lmaoooo

like do you plan out each chapter with a list first or do you just start writing about the main plot point of the chapter and fill in around that out of order or do you just start writing and see where it takes you...

how do i know when to stop writing or decide on which endings/paths/plot points to go with... the deadly combo of indecisiveness and perfectionism along with having no guidelines or due dates is crippling me so im asking some of my fave fic writers (who have been inspiring me to write and be creative as well)

Okay disclaimer: I haven’t taken an English class in uhhhhhh 6 years which is whack to think about

Tbh I’m a big reader of fics and so as far as the inspo to write I just tend to want to write stuff that im like I’d love to see a characters thoughts or experiencing XYZ

My way of writing might be unique idk because I know a lot of fic writers have a like general idea of where the story is gonna go from start to finish. I uhh do not have that 😂 I legit come up with a general thing I want to happen for the chapter (ie current chap I’m writing is Soda’s birthday and I want him to have a moment of insecurity) and then I just sit down and start writing with that as a goal. I feel like usually I have one idea or a line in mind of like that’s where I want to end up. Last chapter I posted I was like okay goal is Betty and Darry are skinny dipping and she somehow ends up holding on to him in the water. And then I just free write and it just happens. I also have a tendency to edit as I go in terms of how to stop. To be fair I just like to pick a little moment where I feel like there’s resolution or a moment where I’d be like on a cliff hanger and stop there but I silly know I’m done with a chapter when I’m like okay this is enticing enough that I as the writer want to know what happens next so I stop and then make myself wait to write the next one. Basically I guess I write almost as a reader where I’m like omg I can’t wait to see what’s next 😂 (unfortunately then there are times I read my own stuff and I’m like wait I want another scene of Darry and Betty and then I go…. Oh girl you gotta write it first 😭 )

Idk if that’s helpful at all but also feel free to dm me if you’re 18+ I love talking! However in terms of writing I’m a chaotic example cause med students do very little writing at all, and def not creative writing unless we do it for funsies 😂

Nivi, I know you said that chapter 7 was mostly filler so you didn’t love it, but I’d argue it had some important tidbits spread throughout that made it stand out.

Paige is finally back in Azzi’s life, but with their past it feels like she is still trying to figure out her place…hmm

Loved the way you weaved time in this chapter. Felt like maybe you might have been foreshadowing Paige pulling back/leaving a little bit. Idk the line “It’s like they’re trying to reel Paige into their world and keep her there forever, like even if she let go, they wouldn’t let her” and then Stephie waking up being scared that Paige had left without saying goodbye stood out to me. Also the fact that Paige was relieved that Azzi was still there in the morning “a promise kept” and then Stephie waking up and being scared that Paige had left and wanted Paige to promise she would never leave was a fun bit of mirroring.

Paige spiraling about sugar and utensils goes back to her still trying to figure out her place in Azzi’s life. The line “two people who’d once promised to build a world together, had spent the last couple of years, building two separate ones instead” broke my heart a little bit. Paige is gonna have to get used to what the current state of what both of their lives are like. Blending presents while still holding onto the past is tricky.

Stephie, Tullulah, Paige, and vodka was pure gold lol

Not Paige having heart eyes for Azzi when she isn’t even around 😂 The coffee shop scene was very sweet and domestic. Stephie being indecisive like her mother and Paige wanting to buy her all the cookies so she wouldn’t have to decide felt like an extension of her own relationship with Azzi. I could see Paige wanting to spoil and care for Azzi in that same way. Paige is very babygirl in this scene. Again I love soft Paige lol.

The scene with Jana, one thing Paige is always gonna do is tell on herself 😂 Jana is so the rebellious younger child, and I love Azzi and Jana’s mother daughter relationship lol.

Not Azzi trying to keep Paige a secret 😭 Doesn’t seem like they are quite on the same page. The line “But there’s something about being a secret again, that raises a bitter taste of what killed us then could kill us now” left a bit of a pit in my stomach. I know we’re gonna get the full breakup scene, but can’t help but wonder how being a secret factors into Azzi turning down Paige’s proposal. Did Paige propose to try to keep them together since she knew once she got drafted in the league they would be a part? And was Azzi not ready to make their relationship public during her senior year at UConn? This whole exchange of them going to the party together just feels like Azzi holding back. Like part of their problem before was Azzi holding back and Paige jumping head first and here they are falling back into their old pattern.

Ugh not Azzi’s ex being invited to the party and Stephie having a special bond with her. I knew the angst was gonna show up eventually, and I know I’m not ready for what’s to come 😭

The Olympic scene had so many emotions. I wanted to slap Olivia for being a grade A Bitch! The loss of what could have been between Paige and Azzi, and their 2 separate lives colliding once again 😩 Azzi’s clap back to Olivia 👏 made me smile and cheer. The contrast between Paige hyper focusing on the Clezzi edits while her wife is fighting with her, is definitely giving emotional cheating. My heart did kind of feel for Olivia in that scene. The way she just gave in resigned to knowing that she would always be second place 💔. Idk if this was the beginning of the end for them, but it felt like it. Also the contrast and bookend of that scene with Paige watching edits about how Clemence looks at Azzi and then watching an edit of how she herself looks at Azzi was just the perfect angsty touch. Just a very beautiful and raw scene.

The final scene of Paige winning the gold medal has so many emotions built in. Paige and Azzi started out as best friends so it feels natural that they would always just resort back to this even during their break. It’s just kind of their default setting. Both of them just genuinely caring for each other even if they aren’t together or particularly close at the time. And then that gives way to both of them emotionally cheating on their partners (I’m assuming Azzi and Clemence are in fact dating) It’s just very emotionally messy. It does make me wonder about the current history of Clemence and Azzi. If they did date does the team know? Obviously they don’t know about the history between Paige and Azzi. How long ago did they break up? Is this why Clemence was traded to Atlanta? Did it end in good or bad terms? Does Clemence feel about Paige the way Olivia feels about Azzi? I have so many questions lol, I guess I gotta just wait for chapter 8 😅

Sorry, I didn’t mean for this to get this long but there was just so much to dive through even in a “filler” chapter. You’re just very good at world building 🙂 Anyway, thank you again for your writing and for sticking to the Monday schedule, I’m very proud of you 😊 Can’t wait to see where you take us in chapter 8, I feel a lot of angst coming and Idk if I’m ready for it 😭

Hi lovelyyyy I'm so glad you're back!

I'm so happy you caught the parallel and the *potential* foreshadowing. That line actually probably weaves itself into your next point about Paige trying to figure out her place in a world that Azzi built without her. There's so much they're trying to blend together, the past they had with each other, the past had without each other, the present they sort of have together and the future that they want with each other.

You're very hot on the money with some of these questions about the breakup!

I'm glad that y'all seem to understand that while Olivia's a bitch, she's not a bitch without a cause. I try really hard not to write anyone as an outright terrible person cause that's quite one-dimensional and so I'm very happy that, that seems to be coming through. Clémence and her role in Azzi's life will be revealed soon too!

A Neutral Update

Hellooooo! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! Thought I’d give everyone a writing update that they didn’t ask for.

I gave myself (er, I tried to give myself) a bit of a break from writing after posting Chapter 3 of ‘Blood in the Wine’, and most of that time I was unsure of what to do with myself, haha! Go figure.

I’ve got the ‘Now What’ prompt I’m working on, and I might put out another prompt poll, but I’m really jazzed about getting back into BITW now that I’m out of the weeds and Tav is in— Oh, she’s fine.

I don’t care if only a handful of people within the fandom are invested in that story - I’m invested lmao. Plot has me grinning like a little fiend whenever I think of it so it’s going to get done. Then maybe translate it into something original. Ah, my pipe dreams...

I do feel pressure to finish it before Dragon Age: The Veilguard comes out as who knows how much that game is going to suck me into it along with everyone else. I don’t see myself ever writing for Dragon Age, but never say never I suppose.

Fandoms are fickle, but I’m currently still very much in the devil’s claws.

Last thing, I was clicking through HWBASK. I really should re-read it and do a focused editing pass specifically with the earlier chapters. I think I improved my writing the further along we got… idk.

It's me again from the overexcited ramble from earlier BUT I'M NOT DONE

Bart knowing about Gar before others feels so real because he's spent his childhood surrounded by people who felt like Gar does right now, and maybe Gar (not to mention Bart himself) felt like that in the future as well. I wonder how well Bart knew BB in his own time, if he ever really knew him at all, and if it has impact on their current friendship

Oh to see the effects of Bart's childhood on his behaviour in the present, you've sprinkled bits and pieces, and I'm taking it all in like a starving man

And the Thawne DNA confirmed!! GOD it was so good, the love he has for his mom and the despise he has for his grandfather (not Barry obviously) is perfection, I hope Thad got what he deserved when Bart got out

And FINALLY the recognition he deserves with his intelligence, like you said: he knows his stuff. So happy to finally read a fic which shows that Bart is GOOD at what he does, he built a time machine for heaven's sake!

BUT ALSO TYE WAS SUCH A LEGEND LMFAO I love the friendship (or more like feigned frenemyship?) he has with Bart, their dynamic in your fic is hilarious

yeah i like to think that as soon as gar came back from Mars bart took one look at gar and was like damn he’s going to be going through it

i just imagine mental illness would be extremely prevalent in bart’s original era, i think it’s by-product of a post-apocalyptic society that makes too much sense. And with no system in place to treat it as normal, well bart must have seen some pretty intense stuff

honestly i really don’t know (or have an idea lol) of how well bart new gar in his TL, in my opinion he didn’t know him personally at all. I’m usually in the camp that most of the team had died in one way or another in bart’s time. The ones that i usually do think he knew or knew of “in person” some what at the very least are Barbara Gordon, Wally West (this is a maybe), Lian and maybe that’s about it. It varies with either more members or less, hoe stay i’m unsure, but these r the ones that i typically think of. With how coy bart was when he first came to the past and spoke to gar, honestly anything is possible though lol

i just usually don’t think that the original members were as involved i. his childhoos as some fics make them out to be, one of the biggest reason is because i think the ones who were alive, dispersed to different locations to take part in rebelling etc so it would make it hard for him to know many personally, he might have heard of and gotten details, but beside that it’s really up in the air. The only HC i sometimes think of /include is Barbara Gordon being the one to teach him how to read/write etc education stuff when he was really young and the tornado twins were still alive (so before he was 5), but other than that, idk

“Thawne DNA confirmed” sdfghjkl LOVE THIS, yeah u heard it here first folks, it’s confirmed 😁 jk lol yeah it makes me super happy to include it in AAIT i feel like it really fleshes out his backstory on time related things and i just love all things related to him and his mom and his thawne side, it’s just very satisfying to think about so being able to explore that and HCs in my fic, very fun. I have such a specific vision for Thads involvement in Barts and (ofc as a result) Melonis lives and there will be a little more on that in future chapters, so stay tuned 🤩

PREACH omg the only thing that’s left for us is to see the day his wiki page is updated on it !! capability and intelligence to me is such a key bart feature idk if this make any sense but it just is lol i’d update the wiki myself if i could try to understand the editing process i just don’t have the energy to go thru reading all the rules or figuring it out to do it rn

tye + bart friendship is everything to me i just feel like they’d be rlly entertaining together just so much potential lol

still is the proudest fic i've ever written. very studio ghibli (according to @/jeongwins) and also very movie-like. @/orochxi melodramas got me in the feels to write this but this is more wholesome that viv's memento mori-coded fics lmao... fun fact: this is almost a nct chenle fic inspired by parasite (2019) hence the fish-out-of-water scenario

troubled pixies, a txt taehyun one-shot two-shot

definitely my favorite character-building-wise. the fact that i have to figure out not only mc + taehyun but also the sisters, their partners, and the sisters' parents' characteristics here is so complicated yet fun, especially how intricate it is. also currently my longest one-shot i've written (52k) that tumblr hates it so much, it has to be divided into two :") (also, this is one of @/boba-beom's fav fics. i've successfully infected her with 80s/90s songs hehehe) + istg mc here is a definite lux lisbon if she live in 90s instead of the 70s, complete with the chainsmoking and her taste in 90s alt songs

now, this is my favorite world-building-wise. i made haeyang this intricate place and setting with its supernatural aspect only some people get (you will know when you read). before writing this, i know i had to make a life is strange (2013) inspired au because it is one of my favorite story-based games of all time. and i’m proud that it kinda becomes its own self especially with my own twists on it. hope you are ready because the [redacted] spin-off will be posted around october! fun fact: this was supposed to be written for stray kids han

some changes with the new demo

currently the demo is at 24k words, at about 10k words per playthrough. And yes, this is before you even meet any of the ROs aksjdakldsj (which is something i’m a little displeased about but I think it’s better in the long run of establishing who you are? idk maybe i’ll come back 4 years later again with another rewrite)

But I wanted to list out some changes the new demo has, for anyone curious. 

faith is now a half-fey (snake). she was initially a spider but then i realized...actually...i don’t want to look at pictures of spiders. the fact that she’s half-fey was meant to be a surprise in the initial demo, but with the change of faith (and yoon) knowing the MC before the events of the game, it doesn’t make sense that the MC wouldn’t have heard, or have been told, that faith was half-fey.

The addition of Zecco, Mudas and Hira, juvenile street urchins the MC has been taking care of over the course of the prologue. Their fate is influenced by your choices. You can define how you feel about children (you don’t have to like them, and your opinion is also able to be changed over the course of the game if you choose to have children later). But this adds to the MC having more connections outside of the main group, and can potentially lead into the arc of having or not having children later. You will meet them again, aged up, in act 2. 

personal antagonists for the MC (their sibling, the duke, ithis) and personal motivations and goals (outside of I WANT MORE MONEY PLEASE, although this is very valid) 

an explicit character flaw. This will be the “darkness” your MC most struggles with, and will be what your choice of RO helps you overcome (in addition to your many other flaws). definable after the events of the prologue. This also dictates what color your magic is, though you get a choice out of some options. There’s anger (angry at the world, angry at the unfairness around them), insecurity (i’m not good enough, i’m not worthy of love or care) and detachment (i feel nothing, I am numb, I do not want emotional connection). While all MCs struggle with all of these to some degree, this is to pick what you MOST struggle with, and where your intrusive thoughts go *QUICK EDIT: if you choose to go the nine tails route, this is also what influences your personality then. What you have to actively fight against becoming. 

there are far more weapon options (will have to see how manageable this is for me), more personality options (ranging from flirtatious goon to awkward mess to sarcastic asshole to stoic observer -- though it takes a while for all of this to be defined)

Getting nine-tails is a far more....uh...sinister act. That’s all I’ll say about that

You can define how your fox form looks. are you large? small? thin? long? basically a choice between the body types of some well known fox breeds. 

the prologue spends a lot of time with just the MC, exploring where they are the moment Adelaide + the crew come into their lives. You’re not in a good place. And just as you will be aiding Adelaide along her journey, she first helps save you. You can define why it is you choose to follow her. Is it money? a debt you feel you owe? Or have you no where better to go? 

the prologue and chapter 1 are specifically about a piece of the MC’s personal quest. If you pretend this is an RPG, this is basically the quest you must go on before you can recruit the MC to your party. Of course, there’s more to be defined later, but it starts focused on you.

fyi: I’m staying away from leaks

If you want to know my thoughts about recent events, here they are:

So idk if I’ve ever mentioned this before, but when I started watching and reading bnha I made a point not to engage with the fandom until I was caught up, because I didn’t want spoilers. When I finally made it to the current chapter, it was around the end of the first war. That’s when I started looking at what other people were saying, and that’s when I found out about when/where leaks were. I’ve been tuning in ever since, for a few reasons that I only rarely stop to interrogate. First and foremost: I’ve liked the extra time to prepare what I want to say if the chapter contains a major revelation or cliff hanger I want to write about. It’s satisfying to punctuate my Sunday morning with a fully fleshed out essay I can immediately post. Then of course it’s also fun to participate in the Moment that leaks create, especially because they unfortunately tend to make the officials feel like an afterthought. And let’s not lie to ourselves—a major reason we tune in is because of FOMO. Everyone else is doing it. You don’t want to be left out of the conversation and not know what’s going on. I especially wanted to know ahead of time about lines that might get butchered in the official English translation. It was nice knowing that Horikoshi didn’t write that “Swiss cheese” line, right? These are some understandable reasons.

But since the routine got disrupted a little, I kinda got slapped in the face with enough clarity to start asking myself: what would I actually get the most enjoyment out of? Because when I heard the (now outdated) news that leaks were no more, I was actually relieved. So. That’s cause for some reflection. I’m like, man, what if I did tune out of social media entirely, wake up on Sunday, have my nice little home cooked breakfast, and read the new chapter for the first time over a cup of tea. What if I experienced the surprises as I turned the page and they stared me in the face, with Horikoshi’s beautiful artwork in HD.

Sure, I’d need to catch up after the fact if there’s any translation fuckery, but that’s okay. That’s doable. Bless the folks who take the time to comb through the Japanese and explain the nuance to everyone else. This is tangential, but I’ve also started thinking even more about how satisfying it would be to edit my own versions (for personal use only of course). That’s a… long-term goal, but maybe it’ll take care of my annoyance with the ‘official’ blunders and bad dialogue. The point is, idk if making myself aware of that stuff should be my #1 priority, above even reading the chapter in the first place. If anything it just makes me more pissed off and fixated on what might be wrong. Which is valid… but distracting. I should prioritize having fun as much as I can.

The other thing is, I’m kind of a social media lurker anyway. I don’t say much in the moment, and I don’t post often. On twitter I mostly just engage in other people’s comments. And it’s not like thousands of people are waiting to hear what I think. Like I said, my personal incentive is to get a head start on analyzing so I can pull together a long, thoughtful response in a more timely manner. But I don’t have to do that. I might as well just embrace my cryptid tendencies—you get my two cents whenever I feel like crawling out of my well.

I don’t want to moralize this whole thing, ask you to think about how the sausage gets made, but I will say I’m looking forward to finding out about big moments without seeing them in the form a short summary tweet first. I mean, c’mon… leakers know how to build hype to an extent but it’s still no substitute. It’s like listening to a sportscaster on the radio instead of watching the game. As we get closer to the end, I just want to savor it!

When I was i think 9 or 10, I had a neighbor who every single weekend we would walk a mile to the grocery store together, buy boxed cake mix and frosting and decorations, and walk back to their house. We would then bake a cake and chat the whole time (also sidebar, a lot of those cakes wound up being rainbow bc we were both baby egg gays but that’s beside the point). Anyways, one of these times, maybe like a year or two into this tradition idk we started jokingly talking about creating our own nation to secede from the US. We called it Rekelmoria and wrote a constitution in comic sans and designed a flag and in a drawer somewhere I am so sure I still have a shirt with that flag printed on it 😂 anyways who wants to join rekelmoria and form our own country I’m like 70% sure our national anthem was a shitty cover of thrift shop by Macklemore

What gave you the initial idea of Fault? What are Fault's origins?

Each character has to spend a day in your body living your life. They just spontaneously get teleported there with no previous explanation. The system guys get teleported along with the other people in their mind. (Tubbo with their group and Blade with Blood god and voices). Void can fuck off I'm not counting it as a system guy. You are meanwhile chilling as a ghost spirit thingie who can watch what's happening and occasionally give hints if you really need to. After the day is over they get teleported back. Assuming that they're in your body means that their powers are left in their bodies too. How well does that go? Or more like how fast do they ruin your life? : D

Who's your favourite child. And by child I mean character from the crew. If you do not have a favourite just say what you personally like about each character/mb what you relate to in them

You spontaneously get teleported into your fic. You can choose the specific moment, I'm just imagining sometime during a stop when they're chilling and nothing major is happening. You get teleported as yourself in this world, so human without powers (supposedly). They do not know that you're their author. And alternative scenario, what happens/ how fast are you gonna be dead if they do know that you made up their story and all of their suffering?

Apparently to be my favourite you just need to be a hypocrite in a way that's both harmful to yourself and others! Neato. And also be a charismatic/silly bastard.

1.The very first spark was a picture of someone else’s scp au. Or monster au? I might try to find it, I don’t know what platform it would be on since for years I just went through google search images for content. Anyway there was a bee Tubbo with dripping skin aggressively hugging Tommy who I think was flower themed? Idk. But I had a moment where I was like oh! I can make them spooky monster guys! And proceeded to do that. Why SCP? I’m not even an SCP fan? Well like months before then my partner in crime (who IS actually into SCP stuff) talked me through all the ones he could think of and then I’d try to come up with stupid ways to defeat them. I liked the framework. So I made little character sheets and then a crappy comic that turned out to be chapters 15-16. Couldn’t stop thinking about it but was like well can’t start at the break out, so I decided to start it when Tubbo and Tommy first met.

2.Tubbo would ace it since I’m currently in the agronomics sector and they have experience via gardening and orchard tending. They’d get startled by the 30 mph winds, keep expecting to be blown away before remembering they’re in a meat body now. The Blade would also be chill with it since he finds gardening relaxing. But Philza would have the patience to sit through the 10 hours of committees I’m dealing with this week. God I wish that was an exaggeration. The Blade would EXPLODE though. What do you MEAN it took 3 1/2 hours to make a 15 minute decision??? Honestly I’m going to assume everyone but Philza would ruin my PCUSA advisory delegate duties. Actually no he’d dip too since he’d feel no obligation to bother. Rip me I guess. But other than that and maybe skipping work I don’t think they could mess up my life too bad. I’m pretty isolated from friends and family at the moment and it’s not like I’ll give any of them my passwords to tech or credit cards. Since only Tubbo can drive they’d have to walk quite a ways to even get into town to cause problems. Honestly? I think I’m safe. Ghost me would be begging for sun protection, but I figure only Tubbo, Phil, and The Blade would bother helping me out like that. Other than that…

Wilbur would be extremely disappointed about the lack of food variety. Philza might solve that by killing a squirrel and cooking it. Tommy would get crazy dysphoria which same dude.

3.Right now it’s Tubbo. It changes though. I just really like how much a disaster they are in the current arc and how they slowly change for the better. Phil is also really fun to work with tho, he's so fun to draw.

I think I’d aim for the 75% mark of epoch 2 since I think everything will be chillest then. That (supposedly) is absolutely fantastic for the implication you can’t be sure I don’t already have them. Personally I think I’d be very freaked out because it’s a very dangerous situation and I’m sure they all look horrific irl. But also I’d try to play dumb but friendly, since revealing I know a lot of info about the group is a bad idea. Like hello stalker much? Fast track to getting labelled a threat, which is kinda a death sentence. They might investigate at first since The Blade getting teleported had a lot of fallout. Tommy would be pretty psyched about a new person to talk to. After confirming I’m human, there’s probably immediately a discussion on whether or not to kill the witness. Tubbo and Tommy are obviously pretty opposed, while Wilbur is like whatever that’s a human they’ll stab us in the back and Philza just wants to reduce risk. But The Blade is chill with humans and breaks the vote against killing me. Yippee. After that I’m going to get out of there as fast as possible. Cause either the Foundation gets me or I’m collateral damage to the crew and no thanks! Tubbo would probably lend a few bees to help me get to the nearest town. And the void….I think the void definitely would know I’m the author and be desperate to learn my True Name. Or just kill me to see what happens.

If the entire group instantly knows oh boy. However I instantly hit them with the ‘if you kill me this world die too’. The guys and flies: really???? Me: You don’t know that it won’t!

Philza is definitely down for some torture and honestly Tommy might second that. But I picked a time when things are actually going well, AND can use knowledge of things that are planned to happen to bargain my way into living by being useful. And I would actually know everyone’s mental problems and could distract everyone by pointing out red flags like ‘hey! Tommy’s suicidal y’all should work on that!’ or ‘repressing The Blood God will hurt you in the long run!’ or what have you. Just throw out enough dirty laundry that they’re too busy worrying about the mental health of their friends to focus on me. Rather debatable on how well me pointing out their flaws would lead to character development, but hey it’s worth a shot. I’m hated but my advice is trusted. This will work semi well until the void kills me.

I’ve been trying to write daily, but since it’s the end of the year, studying for finals, final projects, stuff like that I haven’t been able to, but I got a decent amount done this weekend, I think, I edited the prologue, a bit, and the first chapter is going well, kind of. But the characters were talking about the non-binary/genderfluid character all three of the main characters don’t have names yet but we’re going to ignore that, while they’re planning, and it bothered me a bit bc I’m still no figuring some stuff about them out. if you don’t mind I’m going to ask a few questions gender, and kind of how dysphoria and stuff like that works, and you don’t have to answer all of them, if it makes you uncomfortable, or you want me to message you directly instead if you want it to be private, that’s fine too, and you can just tell me that. you did offer like, awhile ago, one of my earlier asks, but you don’t have to obviously. And you aren’t the poster person for gender stuff, so it’s obviously ok if you don’t know the answer to all of my questions.

I’m cis, so I’m not really sure how the gender thing works in general, usually I just use whatever pronouns someone tells me they’re okay with, bc what they want to be called isn’t like, any of my business, and it’s the respectful thing to do. But if it’s they’re pov, it’s going to be mentioned a lot, so i need a general understanding of how it works.

Dysphoria is basically when your expression of your gender doesn't match how you feel inside (could be clothes, body parts, the way people are referring to you). It can be a physically uncomfortable feeling, mental discomfort, or a mixture. It manifests with many different symptoms, and can vary depending on the person. For example, sometimes I can get a stomach ache or feel anxious. Some trans people get a lot of it, and some don't!

Would that affect if they want to use she/her too? I was planning on them being non-binary and gender fluid, so they would use they/she/he, but I’m not sure about the whole thing, since I don’t understand it much. Everyone is different! Nonbinary people can prefer all different pronouns, depending on their personal preferences, so your character could have completely different pronouns to me. For me, I tend to like they/them the most, but I'm okay with she and he. Your character could be different, though! It really depends on the person :)

Yep, definitely a personal preference! Some people like to change their name and others don't! It could depend on if their name is super gendered, if they have an attachment to it, and if they make huge changes in their transition. But yeah, def a personal preference. I didn't change mine- though I started going by a shortened version of it more.

That's also very different depending on the person, lol. some people just know, even before they're given the terms to express it. Other people start to realize after they learn more about it. For me, it was the second one. I found out about genderfluidity and I was like "ooo, that one."

My creative process is like an on and off switch. Due to ADHD I’ll have an idea for a long time decide to map the story out then procrastinate…for a very long time

TBH I get inspired by other people’s fanart and fanfics.

Now pls don't copy your Auntie Caspian over here but I really just do what ever POV I want to do and feel in the moment if I want to change it I just go back and write it all over again if it's not too late.

If I do receive feed back I feel great! I really enjoy seeing comments and stuff and when I don't I feel fine but kinda overlooked if I'm being honest.

Prep the storyline and lore before anything. If you have all that sorted out you'll be given the liberty to choose what you want in the story or not.

When I have block I just make fanart or make the chapters in my head until I make myself so excited that I want to write again.

One thing that I have noticed( other than always finding a way to add Hispanic/Filipino culture in my fics) is that I tend to be very descriptive about surroundings and how the character feels.

Um I'm fairly new so idk about a lot of genres but all I know right now is that I will never make a story where the main character or any characters that have made it to the end to have a bad ending,if that makes sense. Like I want them to be happy after all the trauma I put them through.

Best advice: to plan things out and to have a draft

Worst advice: that I can't wing it. I do think planning is important but sometimes the best ideas come last minute.

Favorite part of writing: that I can put myself in the characters and what they go through and that I can use it as therapy for myself.

Least favorite: actually writing XD jk but kind of not lol. I also don't like how long editing can be but it's more fun when you can do it with a friend/beta reader yk?

It's long I can tell you that. If I don't have block editing is probably whats taking the longest.

Honestly I don't think I've come across this problem the only thing I have trouble is finding the right words to put the scenes is play.

I write the scenes I'm excited for on paper and then write start to finish on my lap top.

What I think makes me stand out are the characters I create. All of them have either a part of me or have gone through the things I have or are modeled after people in my life.

Hey guys! Gonna give a lil update (both a mini life update and a update for the au stuff):

Tumblr is still messed up for me (currently posting this from pc) so I’m guessing it has to do with the bells they added to the dash considering that’s when it happened, so I’m assuming it’ll be back once they take them away, but if not I might have to go to staff or something we’ll see 

Anyway I got hat game on my pc for Christmas! but it sets my laptop on fire and runs very badly lmao so I’m probably gonna see if I can get a gaming computer for my birthday so I can play it properly 

Also sorry for not being very active lately, we went on vacation but I got sick afterwards and then a big snow storm hit, so just got a bit overwhelmed from all that happening one after another lol, I’m not sick anymore thankfully but the snow is still around 

In au related news as y’all know I’ve hit some art/writing block lately, so I’ve not started on the next prologue chapter just yet but thankfully I did get the plot of it figured out in a discord call, as I had been struggling to think of how it would play out bc it’s gonna be a A B plot situation, but I finally got a way for it to work out nicely ^^ so I got a little outline of the events jotted down, just haven’t started on the actual thing yet 

So after that chapter the prologue will be finished and so things can flow into the main fic, speaking of the main fic you’d assume I’d start working on chapter 2 after finishing the prologue and you WOULD be right, but I recently decided I want to go back and edit/rewrite chapter 1 just bc my writing improved so I wanna add extra scenes or better descriptions etc etc so it’s getting a revamp but not an outright rewrite just bc that thing is way too long to redo it entirely 💀

Also on the topic of writing i kept having the issue of thinking all the chapters outside of snatchers prologue chapter (heartburn) where all not the best writing, especially compared to aforementioned snatcher chapter that had way higher writing quality, I originally just chalked it up to being in the zone™️ when writing that one, but I realized I think it MIGHT be because it’s the only one not being adapted from a comic, all the others had comic or tumblr related things tied to them, but the snatcher fic was all it had going for itself, thus it had more descriptive words or spent longer on events etc because it didn’t have anything to go off of, where as the other fics ended up accidentally feeling more akin to scripts to me in how they did descriptions, ESPECIALLY forget me not because it’s literally just word for word event for event the same as it’s comic form, not sure if I’m making sense but what I’m getting at is that I’m glad that after this next chapter we are in completely new territory! No comics or ask blog stuff is tied to any of the chapters to come, so perhaps this will mean their writing will improve because they’ll only have the words to rely on, like I said idk if this little rant was necessary I just enjoy talking about my writing process is all 

But uh yeah tldr: next fic chapter will happen eventually, after that I’m going back to redo the first main fic chapter, and sorry I didn’t get to do any holiday art but maybe I will last minute do some doodles I dunno lol, OH, and I still gotta figure out a follower milestone event bc I’m super excited about it!^^ like I said of anyone has suggestions I’d love any ideas!

2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?

Short answer: I try to. Long answer: I try to have an outline where I might jot down ideas in the spaces I think they can go and then I just write and see what happens. That's why I don’t like posting my big fics til theyre done because I add a lot of stuff after the fact.

4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?

😂😂😂 I know a lot of my ideas are very… out there and wonky. And truly it could be a random thought or a conversation/media– anything and if it snags then I try to think ‘ok [idea] what comes next’ and if its something I get excited about, i have a whole lot of moments where I’m audibly going ‘ooh but what if…’ and then I take up my phone and make a note in a doc. Some ideas get chosen, some don’t.

16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?

So I’ll answer this in two ways: how many fic ideas do I have written down right that havent been fleshed out or posted: 9

How many of these ideas have more than just ‘idea au?’: 4

One of them is a music teacher au, where Daniel is a private music tutor and he’s supposed to be teaching Max how to play piano/cello (i haven't committed to any yet) and Max spends their tutoring time watching Daniel’s hands/fingers and how he feels the music and jacks off about it

22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)

I currently don’t have any because I’m willing to get out of my comfort zone to try new things (for example my new Dewis fic– terrified of doing a poor Lewis characterization)

56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?

I think I have to give myself some props on my ideas and being able to actually flesh them out into interesting stories. And my comedy. (and my ability to put angst in everything lmao)

58. What part of the writing process do you enjoy the most? (Brainstorming, outlining, writing, editing, etc)

I do love outlining. And then I procrastinate starting, because I find writing to be all encompassing, like I will ignore life if I’m trying to get an idea out. Editing is the part I like least, but it makes me giddy because that means I’m almost ready to share my idea

70. When asked, are you embarrassed or enthusiastic to tell people that you write?

I actually don’t tell people anymore. Because then they think it means I can write anything and that’s just not true. But I used to be embarrassed to tell people  when I wrote Inuyasha fanfiction haha so there are people that know and more than likely have forgotten. I don’t hesitate to tell people i read fic though, so idk 

74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?

Oh this is hard because I truly don’t know if theres anything I that I do across fic. If there is, please lemme know!! I’ve managed to shoehorn a twilight (movie) reference in 2 of my big fics tho so that makes me giggle
