Alice Dyer is NOT Tim 2.0. Their humor is completely different. Canon Tim is incredibly different from fanon tim. He is funny sometimes, but when it comes down to it, his humor comes down to “millenial who makes the occasional pop culture reference and is jokingly flirty sometimes”. He knows what a meme is, but his meme knowledge is not that far advanced from “I can haz cheesburger” cat. He is not hip with the memes. Alice is the one who is hip with the memes. If I write fanfic for dungeon meshi I’m gonna start with writing about the demon cause I loooooooove cosmic horror and the way the demon was set up in the story is still giving me brainworms a couple hours after finishing the manga.

Honestly that element reminds me a lot of FMA, I think there are some pretty clear influences there, but tbh the winged lion in dunmeshi is a more compelling character than the dwarf in the flask.

AND the integration of dnd style planar stuff was so fucking goooood.

Like the moment I got to this bit I was like ‘Oh Fuck This Rules this is how you do a demon deal!’

And then the other little hints towards its nature had me !!!!!!

I already mentioned this panel in a post but I’ll do it again cause it’s fucking breathtaking

And these bits are gonna live in my mind forever now, SO fucking goooood

But what’s most intriguing is the backstory chapter for the demon like!!! Going from

To being like, the origin of magic and of the variation in humanoid races??? And worshipped as presumably many separate gods??? And then being sealed away at some point, somehow, cut off from the whole of the planet and confined to the saddest little pocket dimension of all time while the society driven by its influence collapses???????

I opened Pinterest for the first time in months.

That made me realize a lot about how bad I was actually doing and how much of a Waffle House Index use of Pinterest is for adult me, apparently.

I hadn’t realized it had grown that foundational to me in a healthy-brain-exercise-and-hobby-joy way. Nice to know moving forward! It’s another sign I can keep track of and use to spot correlation/indicator patterns earlier my behavior.

I love this kind of thing, it makes me so excited!

Saw a lot of people in the fandom were drawing the lovely @tulipsempai’s Iris, went, “ooh that looks fun I wanna try,” and got so into designing the outfit that I had to develop a whole concept behind it. The concept? Underwater themed masquerade. (because imposter = disguises = masquerade)

Decided to start drawing

Out of the three main “new fears” I had ideas for it may have been a bad idea to do this one first because it took AGES to draw

But anyway, this is Malice! It takes the form of Kel and Hero (not for any reason just because the other two were taken), it represents Sunny’s fear that he’s a bad person and just faking his struggles for sympathy <3

I’m very aware its anatomy doesn’t make sense but …. Idk. It’s a nightmare monster what do you want from me (except the hand the hand is supposed to look like that) .. anyway Sunny buddy your hospital fever dream monsters are frightening
