if bloodsoaked killer, avatar of wretched villainy, fetid and rotten, a vile creature to the very core.... why kicked puppy??? why cute round eyes??? why sweet scared girl who just wants to be nice and help everyone????
(in other words it's durge time; monk styles)
(my plan is a Karlach romance, but man, if you deliberately RP as someone who is both very confused and deeply scared, there is something extra reassuring about Gale's confidence. Like I'm trying to lean into Karlach's warmth -both literal and metaphorical- being a source of comfort, and the reason for this character to be drawn to her, but the dynamic of a strong woman who knows nothing and the physically frail man with chronic pain who knows everything IS intriguing...)
(then again, that could just be me being not even just thirsty, but parched for the wizard.)

the duality of my Dr. Benzedrine is that he's incredibly effective and ruthless at what he does (saving lives, need not concern himself with the consequences as long as the subject/victim/patient is still alive by the medical definition of the term) and he's terribly smart and has a great sense of humor, but he's also a rather confused, genuinely brain-damaged individual. like. he's scary when he's in his element, but when he's not, he sometimes can barely string a full sentence together, has panic attacks over loud noises, etc

Did my first Mask playthrough with the update- it's satisfying. That's the best way to put it! You can do so much, unlock locations item, and dip your fingers in so many pies... it feels fuller! It feels more like the history, of London.
Like, of COURSE my PC, Miss Robin would set out to marry Griz, and be swayed by Milton. Of COURSE she would meet a certain Entrepreneur with Tentacles with a different name, and fail to set up his business quite yet, but instead broker a future for the Rubbery Men in London. Of course she would turn to the plan with Parliment, when the murder investigation seems to be going nowhere. Of course she'd write a manifesto against the Masters, and yet still see Pages as a brother, just in the way she does Archie. Of course the ceiling would open, and the sun would kill many.
It's delightful. It's wonderful. It's weird and it's amazing. I adore it, now.

It's not as fun for me to watch the Captain America movies anymore because even though it's on me for actually thinking Marvel might have Steve and Bucky end up together, it was one hundred per-cent a reasonable assumption to make. The chemistry was there. The history. The narratives revolving around each other's lives. Steve saying it's hard to find someone he has shared experiences with when there's a man who matches that description heart achingly well. Bucky knowing Steve so deep within his core that not even brainwashing and mental torture can keep him from remembering. I'm with you to the end of the line being almost like a marriage vow. The way Bucky can't remember the name of the girl he dated once (but Steve can) but he remembers the part of that experience that involved Steve. The way he's believed in Steve since before he was Captain America. The way Steve would literally rather die than hurt Bucky anymore once he knows the world is safe, even if he doesn't know whether or not Bucky will have mercy on him (and it's not even important if he believes Bucky will, because that wouldn't have any impact on Steve's decision to stop fighting). The way they just keep haunting each other. The way it should be impossible for them to still exist together but the universe conspired to save them both for the twenty-first century. The way Bucky is the only person alive who knows that Steve used to put newspapers in his shoes. The way that's all Steve needs to hear from him to know this is Bucky and not the Winter Soldier.
No, I don't expect that every ship will become canon. But can you blame me for hurting when something that felt so much like eternal love, that felt so close to seeing people like me up there on the movie screen, didn't get to happen when it so easily could've?
Would you blame Icarus for plunging too hard into a taste of freedom, after being locked away for years, when it was really the weakness of the wax and the fury of the sun that killed him?

considering the circumstances, you know, speaking realistically, hera is pretty much always both the first person eiffel talks to when he wakes up and the last person he talks to before he falls asleep. so now i get to be sentimental and say: they have so many conversations eiffel drifts off to sleep in the middle of, or when he’s technically awake but his brain isn’t yet, when he makes even less sense than usual. eiffel lies in bed in the mornings like he’s trying to hold onto a dream. his voice is low. he keeps his eyes closed. he imagines that hera is lying next to him; he imagines for a while that they’re somewhere else.
