Random Worldbuilding Questions
Are there any foods with symbolic meanings that are eaten on special occasions (e.g. katsudon for victory, or new years oranges for luck)? How did the tradition get started?
We all know about weddings and marriage, but are there any ceremonies that symbolically / legally / magically officialize a different type of relationship in your world's culture? (Adoption, apprenticeship, friendship, etc.)
What's a rule or social norm that is widely followed in theory, but in practice everyone knows it's not a big deal and breaks it all the time?
Are there any trades or hobbies whose practitioners are stereotyped as weird or extraordinary? (E.g. the "mad hatter" trope.) Why? How true is this perception?
What are some cliches, tropes, and/or plots that commonly appear in stories written by your world's inhabitants? What were they inspired by? Why are they popular?
What is a common way to subtly insult someone in your world, without crossing into overt rudeness? Gifting an item with negative connotations? Addressing them more familiarly or formally than normal? Backhanded compliments?
If you pulled a random average Joe off the streets of your world and asked them to draw a house, what would they draw? (Shape, roof style, position and number of windows, etc.)
Is there a place in your world that nobody has ever been to - the bottom of a cave, the moon, another dimension, etc.? How do people know it exists? Why haven't they gone there? What do they believe it's like, and how right/wrong are they?
What aesthetics are considered "advanced" or "futuristic" in your world - canvas wings, shiny chrome, smooth plastic? How has this changed over time?
What's a fun fact about your world that you as the worldbuilder are dying to share, but nobody ever thinks to ask?

What would actually fix me is jealous Carmy but he doesn't even register it as jealousy. He overhears Tina gossiping about Marcus having feelings for Syd and Carmy has to excuse himself to the office and take a big ass swig of Pepto because the sensation feels like the worst heartburn he's had in his professional life. He keeps it cool externally, but internally my boy is tweaking tf OUT. He has to go outside to have a cigarette when he sees them say good morning to each other, and he's lying awake at night staring at the ceiling thinking about how he's supposed to feel about the situation, he's starting to see Marcus as competition in the kitchen which is like. woah? what? nothing happened between them why is he acting like this???? and then he goes to his therapist and he's like
I'm nauseous, I can't sleep, I'm angry at my pastry chef but idk why, I'm avoiding Sydney, I'm smoking 2 packs a day, and I think I have chronic heartburn.
and his therapist is like
You're experiencing feelings of jealousy and anxiety

Have some various OG!Shangjiu brainrot + OG!Shang Qinghua design from my side - I do like to imagine he's quite different from Airplane.
I love rareships even if they're a pain cause there is like 0 content. Guess I have to do it myself then.
Disorganized OG SQH thoughts under cut
If we can believe Airplane on SQH, his upbringing wasn't too terrible nor all that great, probably some "disposable" son in a family, starting as outer disciple on An Ding. Presumably he runs into the inadvertent ambush by Mobei-Jun, and is similarly thrown to die by his fellow disciples. Assuming this happens as such in the OG timeline, it's easy to see why SQH would have no qualms betraying the sect. Overall tho, I imagine he was ambitious even before MBJ to fight his way up the ranks regardless of the cost. I don't imagine him to be afraid to climb over corpses, if only to secure himself a place as peak lord. I could see him having a bit of a two-sidedness to him kinda like NHS. Pretend to be demure and harmless/weak to get what he wants and not draw attention since everyone assumes him incompetent outside of his work as lord of paperwork, but a lot more ruthless and unfriendly on the inside. He doesn't particularly care for his fellow peak lords and thus is willing to sell the secrets to MBJ in exchange for his life
Cold and calculating, ruthless, A grade actor, two faced, rude but repays debts (like mbj leaving him alive and therefore doing stuff for him; I think he'd be aware that he's hopelessly outmatched against mbj so is this technically coercion??)
Anyway with SJ probably an enemy/rivals to lovers situation starting with a spiderman pointing meme game of "I know what you are" and ending in "everyone sucks - I agree" and watching the world burn together or something it's all still vague in my head
