"You should appreciate your autism as the unique gift it is"
Gee, I'd love to do exactly that but literally every single time I try to do that in any way whatsoever I'm damn near immediately shot down somehow. People always saying I'm doing too much when I'm just trying to express myself without crying. Then they say I'm too sensitive and y'know what, fuck you I have an empathy overflow and this shit is actually killing me so I don't care what you say about it even if it hurts.
And that isn't to say that being autistic hasn't benefited me at all. It makes me a more creative musician and shit but frankly it's hard to enjoy that when everything is a perpetual shit show complete with misunderstandings up the ass over the most basic shit.

Intention dies in written form. Truth withers through text. You can only have truth in spoken form. It is the only way to heal anything. It's why war goes on and on...people don't have enough respect for the other people (or themselves) to sit down and talk. Anger and lies are fed from the darkest corners of our souls and we make each other out to be monsters. Because it's easier that way.
"Because it's not a game, Kate. This "argument" is a scale model of war. Every war ever fought right there in front of you. Because it's always the same. When you fire that shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know who's children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken! How many lives shattered! How much blood will spill until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning -- SIT DOWN AND TALK!"

I have the right to complain about my children that I teach, but if someone is doing the same, I just EXCUSE ME? You have no right to say a word about these children. Apologize

man. i know people care but it's starting to annoy me that whenever i say "i'm not at my best" or "i'm not feeling great" people interrogate me like i have to have a reason to feel down. sometimes i'm just not at my best and that should be ok. do i have to have a reason every time i feel low? no, i don't think so. and even if i do i don't have to tell you, and interrogating me just makes me uncomfy. i understand you care but please understand that when i say "i'm not at my best/not feeling great" that half the time i'm just simply feeling that and i don't have a "good" reason to feel that way.

Imma vent here↓↓↓
I can tell. When you aren't from Tumblr. Because some of your manners are inexistent.
Especially when you talk about an indie show. That is one full artist's creation. How can you look at yourself in the mirror. Would you like to make something that you love, and some little shit on the internet goes and says "This is shit." Be respectful at least.
And if anyone says "it makes you insecure" of course it does. I'm making my own little big thing. I would love for anyone to not tag about my work if you're going to make a hate comment like that. It's useless and quite frankly pathetic.
Recently people seem to have forgotten what the fuck respect is, much less the fact that there are people behind that screen of yours that you're talking to.
Most of all, it's really fucking annoying. I like going on tumblr because most of it is nice. People are respectful. And then there are twitter, tik tok people coming here thinking they can just do these kinds of things. If you have something bad to talk about a fandom. Don't. Fucking. Tag it. It's common sense. Or tag 'hate talk' 'hating' something. Be, again, respectful.

i'm sorry but i don't think we should call this the "autism website" when there's still posts with tons of notes mocking people who:
struggle with social skills / have anxiety around social settings
are unemployed / unable to work certain jobs
have intense or "age-inappropriate" interests
haven't had certain life experiences that are deemed universal/essential
struggle with personal hygiene
don't have any friends or dating experience
don't go outside much or at all
take things literally / don't get sarcasm/jokes
have unusual ways of speaking
generally aren't "normal"

[images ID: three images of a comic titled "one must imagine sisyphus happy" by druid-for-hire. it is a visual narrative beginning with someone with wrist pain (depicted by bright orange nerves) working at a drafting table. the reader is shown the same wrist as the person uses it for many everyday tasks such as carrying a grocery basket, pushing elevator buttons, typing, and doing dishes, until the pain dissolves all the panels into chaos. the person then performs several physical therapy exercises until the pain subsides. they sit back down at a desk with their laptop, sigh, and begin typing. a small spark of pain reappears. end id]
a fun little piece i made during the semester and submitted into our school comic anthology! (which you can buy at the Static Fish table at MoCCAFest in NYC ;] ). it's about artists and injury

Gentle reminder that very little fandom labor is automated, because I think people forget that a lot.
That blog with a tagging system you love? A person curates those tags by hand.
That rec blog with a great organization scheme and pretty graphics? Someone designed and implemented that organization scheme and made those graphics.
That network that posts a cool variety of stuff? People track down all that variety and queue it by hand, and other people made all the individual pieces.
That post with umpteen links to helpful resources, and information about them? Someone gathered those links, researched the sources, wrote up the information about them.
That graphic about fandom statistics? Someone compiled those statistics, analyzed them, organized them, figured out a useful way to convey the information to others, and made the post.
That event that you think looks neat? Someone wrote the rules, created the blogs and Discords, designed the graphics, did their best to promo the event so it'd succeed.
None of this was done automatically. None of it just appears whole out of the internet ether.
I think everyone realizes that fic writing and fanart creation are work, and at least some folks have got it through their heads that gif creation and graphics and moodboards take effort, and meta is usually respected for the effort that goes into it, at least as far as I've seen, but I feel like a lot of people don't really get how much labor goes into curation, too.
If people are creating resources, curating content, organizing the creations of others, gathering information, and doing other fandom activities that aren't necessarily the direct action of creation, they're doing a lot of fandom labor, and it's often largely unrecognized.
Celebrate fan work!
To folks doing this kind of labor: I see you, and I thank you. You are the backbones of our fandoms and I love you.

honestly if you don't outwardly show support for palestine, i'm automatically assuming you're a zionist. no one has an excuse about being uneducated anymore. everyone who does not support us, either out of ignorance or genuine malice, is complicit in our genocide and i do not trust them at all. if you have not spoken out about what is happening, you are not, and were never, our ally.

"terfs like trans men!" "trans men don't have to worry about terfs!"
Oh I'm sorry wasn't there a big thing throughout 2020-2022 where everyone was all like "little girls are mutilating their bodies!", "what happened to our lesbians!?", "scared women are pretending to be men.", and so on? Wasn't there a literal book that talked about trans men, talking about them as if they were innocent girls who were lied to and thus were destroying themselves because of it, saying how we needed to 'save them from the hypnotization!"? Weren't there numerous bloggers/youtubers who made commentary videos in reaction to Elliot Page coming out, and proceeded to rant and rave how we are losing such beautiful women and lesbians to the "transgender agena"? What about the time where it was trending to fakeclaim trans people, whom most of the targets of this were trans men? How about when people called trans men 'dykes' because "well they're not actual men, they're just confused lesbians!"?
Do I need to add more, or do you guys understand?
