So I was listening to Epic the musical, as one does, and was hit with an au idea that idk what to do with.
Adam being told, during the uprising of hell against heaven, to go to Lucifer's castle because Lucifer has created a nephilim, an abomination, a monster, who is prophesize by God to change heaven and hell forever. And the angels don't know if that's good or bad, so Adam is sent to go kill it. They always assume the worst of Lucifer after all.
Adam, expecting to find a monster, goes with the angels to hell for an attack and while Lucifer is trying to defend the castle with Lilith from the angels outside, Adam sneaks in, killing the few demons in his way till he gets to a room... A nursery, and instead of a violent, huge, evil monster he sees a baby... A fucking tiny blonde baby girl.
And he tries to make himself kill her. He pumps himself up, he says it's for the good of heaven! He has the spear in hand and aims it at her tiny body, but when she opens her eyes, smiles and reaches for him with a giggle, pure innocence in her red eyes... He can't do it. He drops the spear, making it vanish from site.
So he instead holds the baby to protect her from the attack, hearing Lilith get killed in the crossfire and Lucifer losing his mind over it on everyone outside till the battle ends with Lucifer standing and the angels fleeing.
Lucifer comes back to the castle only to see the dead bodies, panics and runs to Charlie's room in terror and sees Adam holding his baby. And he's about to attack till Adam takes off his helmet, tears in his eyes as he says "I can't do it..." A soft sob breaks through his throat. "I... I can't do it Lucifer... She's too pure... I couldn't..." And it hurts cuz he's disobaying heaven... again. He's choosing Lucifer and his child over heaven... And he knows he can't go back. Not after failing heaven a second time.
So Lucifer sighs, goes to Adam and hugs him and his daughter.
"Then you can stay here."
.
.
And uh... Yeah that's as far as I got with that little thought experiment. All thanks to "I'm just a Man" from epic the musical while I'm at work. Idk where to go after this tho lol, any ideas?

Finding a ship uncomfortable or not liking it romantically is one thing, but shitting on it without censoring the ship name is just rude, ill mannered, uncultured behaviour
Wishing harm and death threatens ovrr said ship is just awful and pure cruelty
Also, don't make fun of the shippers who do enjoy the ship cuz holy shit is it that hard to be a decent person? If you don't like, don't read/look! Curate your own damn timeline!

but when
does a comet become a meteor,
when does a candle become a blaze,
when does a man become a monster?
when
does a ripple become a tidal wave,
when does the reason become the blame,
when does a man become a
monster?
(forgive me, i’m just a man)

my head likes deaddove so much it will slip into any ship i have, but lately with endzawa all i can think about is enji holding aizawa in his arms after a really bad nightmare, crying silently in his chest as shouta caresses his hair and strokes his back, whispering sweetly that everything is fine and that they are fine and safe, but enji keeps sobbing and mumbling all over and over 'please, stay, please don't leave, please don't go out there again, what will i do? what will i do if i lose you?'

I'm getting so sick of major female characters in historical media being incredibly feisty, outspoken and public defenders of women's rights with little to no realistic repercussions. Yes it feels like pandering, yes it's unrealistic and takes me out of the story, yes the dialogue almost always rings false - but beyond all that I think it does such a disservice to the women who lived during those periods. I'm not embarrassed of the women in history who didn't use every chance they had to Stick It To The Man. I'm not ashamed of women who were resigned to or enjoyed their lot in life. They weren't letting the side down by not having and representing modern gender ideals. It says a lot about how you view average ordinary women if the idea of one of your main characters behaving like one makes them seem lame and uninteresting to you.
