Ok so, I have never been diagnosed with anything ✨brain wise✨ however pretty much every autistic person I have ever met has said that they think I might be as well, without me even bringing it up, including my AuDHD brother. My mother has said repeatedly throughout my lifetime comments such as ‘are you sure you’re not autistic’ and ‘that is very autistic or you maybe we should get you diagnosed’ but then she denies it if i bring it up

My dad thinks I am adhd, my mum thinks I would be add rather than adhd because I am, to quote, ‘not hyperactive like [brothers name] is’. He is a twelve year old boy. I am a fifteen year old girl. I also take apart all my pens in lessons if I don’t have something less destructible to fidget with. Take that how you will

I personally have done a lot of of research into the both, and feel that I could be either, but slightly more likely adhd

I have a weird issue with my feet where the bones are too close together in places, which means I have really clicky ankle joints, am much more likely to have my ankles roll, twist, or give way, and often my legs hurt pretty bad, and my feet as well, while walking or standing for a long time. But hey! They’re getting better finally :D

OK SO NOW MY INTERESTS

I AM LITERALLY SO OBSESSED WITH ODYSSEUS HE IS ALL I HACE BEEN ABLE TO THINK ABOUT FOR LIKE THREE WEEKS NOW, I HAVE BEEN HIGHLIGHTING HIS NAME EVERY TIME I SEE IT IN THE ILIAD, I HAVE LISTENED TO THE EPIC MUSICAL EVERY NIGHT FOR OVER A WEEK, AND THIS IS ONLY THE SECOND TIME THIS YEAR THAT MY OBSESSION HAS APPEARED. AND IT GETS WORSE BY THE DAY.

THE ONLY THING STOPPING ME FROM CREATING ODYSSEUS FAN ART IS MY ART SKILLS

Finishing my rewatch of the Owl House (and crying all over again because I just love Hunter, my sad awkward boy who just wants to be a kid for once, and he finds friends who accept him—plus he and Willow AAAAA; not to mention the bi-rep with Luz and her relationship with Amity, and then the Collector and King—OH AND FLAPJACK AAAAUGH). Also watching A Condition Called Love cuz the first episode aired last Thursday and I am SOOOO happy with it, and am TRYING to watch Dungeon Meshi but my Netflix is being stupid (;̦̦̦̦̦̦̦̦ↂ⃝⃓⃙⃚⃘дↂ⃝⃓⃙⃚⃘;̦̦̦̦̦̦̦̦)

I think probably sweet, though I do love savory foods. And, yknow, I’m from Texas, so I enjoy spicy food—but it has to be spice with a PURPOSE. It has to ENHANCE the flavor, not just try to melt your brains. Sweet, though—hohoHOOO. Yeah. I’ve definitely got a sweet tooth. Again, though, it can’t just be sweet for the sake of sweetness. Punching Bag by Set it off, I love that band. I've been listening to them since middle school. I like when it says, “So say goodbye to your Mr.Nice Guy you got your wish, he’s rotting in hell..”, cuz that’s when the beat drops and I just like how it sounds. 

So I took the test just for this and apparently I’m type 5 “the investigator”. I don’t really know much about this but hope that tells you whatever you need to know. 👁👄👁👍

Not really, but I do love watching movie and drama video essays as background noise while I’m doing something else.

I didn’t have an imaginary friend...so…💀👌. Nah you know what let me make up one. His name was Bob the builder and he was the filler for my absent father figure. 😀👍

I usually end up falling asleep while listening to ASMR, I mean one of the reasons I love ASMR is cuz its great background noise.

I’ve never really wanted to change my name, but I think names like Hyacinth and Rain are pretty cool. They sound like character names and also I love nature so it’s like the perfect match up.

At the moment I really like listening to Milo’s play-through of the Mortuary Assistant. I just find it entertaining to watch and, again, I like to put it as background noise.

Ollie (sorry), I just don’t really find him interesting at all. Which I get he isn’t trying to be a super complex character, like that isn’t his purpose, but because I just don’t have much feelings for him.

H2O just add water and Mako Mermaids were my shit when I was little, and even now I still go back from time to time, I’ve watched all the seasons of both series multiple times over and to this day I continue to be a mermaid fanatic.

Not really, at least not that I know of, but I do love knowing random fun facts about miscellaneous subjects. More specifically about Greek mythology, space, and folklore.

I don’t really know if you are asking about music or ASMR so I will give you both. I’m currently obsessed with ‘EPIC the musical’ . It's a musical about the Greek poem ‘The Odyssey’.

My guilty pleasure is, very predictably, ASMR. I just find it relaxing and I love the stories that can be told through. 

Other stuff about me: I’m a Taurus and my mbti is INTJ. uuh I don’t really know what else to say so I hope this is enough info about me. This was pretty fun. I felt like I was having an interview about myself. :]

Ahhh, a Type Five, INTJ, oh, that is fun (and the same stats as Sherlock Holmes probably). Intellectual, curious, thoughtful, always thinking, always learning… I think a little serenity might do you some good.

Something about the way you talk about background noise while you work and relax makes me wonder how busy your brain must be; does that make sense? (I’m the same way, like I need mental fidget toys to focus properly?) I imagine Cam would be so helpful in that respect, with his even voice and his soothing demeanor.

You know what would be so lovely that I could absolutely imagine? Cam strikes me as a pretty old daemon, not as old as Vega but older, distinguished… the type to love Shakespeare, Dickens, the classics. Just imagine leaning your head on his shoulder as he reads to you, whatever book of whatever country’s lore your heart fancies that day. You get a nap, he gets a snack, everybody’s happy~!

I don’t know how I feel about mixing Cam with Ed Sheeran either, I’ll admit, but it’s the vibes. (Also, to throw a little bitter in with that sweet, he would actually love you until your legs don’t work like they used to before… and then some. Probably forever.)

- three ships: Masriel are taking up all my brainspace rn, and I’m still deep in the trenches of the war against Badwolf/HBO IT MAKES NO SENSE WHY DID THEY CUT IT. I’m always on the brink of spiralling into an obsession over Jopper, (at least they got to make the hell out last year), and if I had to pick a third from my epic list of exclusively milf/dilf OTPs, Gomez and Morticia win the spot because I’ll love them forever and I think they were in my dream last night and also I got my first ever tattoo of Morticia last week so... 

- first ever ship: Cobert are the ogs for me, they got me into tumblr and shipping and fandom, so it’s all thanks to good ol JFelz that I’m here at all, and I still love them to pieces

- last song: I’ve recently fallen in love with ‘A Little Night Music’ and I’ve been listening to the 2010 OBC version and I know this is not at all original and it’s like a classique staple of musical theatre, but when I first heard Catherine Zeta Jones sing ‘Send in the Clowns’ a few weeks ago, I transcended, and it’s been on repeat ever since. I decided at the time that it was a pretty good song for TAS Masriel (two ex lovers who’ve never timed things right, meeting again but still not being able to love each other openly and truthfully because they’re still in different places and they’re fools - clowns). But then after s3 finished, I realised we, Masriel Nation, had been the clowns all along and that... was a harrowing thing to reckon with.

- last movie: ‘Good Luck To You, Leo Grande,’ it was great! Emma Thompson is a revelation every single time!

- currently reading: Nothing. I’m ashamed to admit I hardly ever read anything other than fanfiction anymore and it sucks, (not the fanfiction, that’s great, but the way I’ve lost the habit and discipline to consistently read books.)

- currently consuming: My sister and I started watching ‘The English’ last night, and while it wasn’t quite what we were expecting and I’m not obsessed, I think we’ll finish it at some point.

“Would” implies I haven’t already. I don’t have that kind of self-restraint. Maybe more for My School President? I travelled home for Christmas so I haven’t had the chance to make much content for it these past couple of weeks. I’m planning on making some GIFsets now that break is over! (Fingers crossed the muse of inspiration strikes.)

Currently also in a Broadway/Musical kick so…

So because when I was scrolling Instagram a while ago a song popped up that is essentially Cato in his arena. Lonely King by CH5. I literally listened to the song while reading his chapter and well, I think it fits. I have no idea or context where this song is from but listen to it if you get a chance!

Also Ruthlessness from the EPIC musical by Jorge Rivera-Herrans is such a Clove and Cato song. Probably all of the Career Victors, but mainly these two.

Finnick during his arena is Get in the Water from EPIC the musical. Because the baby boy was Poseidon in his arena with his trident. I really love this musical. My Greek mythology nerd self is obsessed with this concept musical.

Also him and Annie are Wild Uncharted Waters from the new Little Mermaid. She snuck up on him and now he is ready to die for her. I’ve abused the repeat button for this song.

Glimmer definitely makes me think of All You Wanna Do from Six the Musical and She Used to be Mine from Waitress. Just baby girl.

Hi friend! This was so funny to see considering I ..dead ass have a degree in musical theater. Like I double majored in college in molecular biochemistry and musical theater, so this cracked me tf up to see.

I won't unpack too much of your song opinions for them because they're yours and I don't know a ton of them, however, I can agree to the glimmer ones only because they were on a medley I did in college for a showcase inspired by wronged women, which also included Cabaret and some others but. I totally agree to that and thought the one from Six was her a LOT actually, like every time i hear it.

The little mermaid song cracks me up because they could have JUST used Her Voice from The Broadway Musical but they chose to like..write an off version of it for that original song nomination.

But I will give a shameless little plug, if you like musicals and mythology, I'd like to recommend Hadestown. My main blog is a Hadestown blog which i've run for 4 years, I've written over a hundred fics for it, but also, i'm driving down to the city to see it with some friends (I made via tumblr!) for the literal 28th time Saturday. It's literally the most beautiful piece of theater I have ever seen. 10/10 recommend if you like musicals and mythology.

3 ships: I think the only reason I’m choosing these specifically is because I’ve written for them and I got quite fond of those stories, because I can’t really pick favourites. Soooo Supico/Martinho from “Madre Paula”… these two had like 10 min on screen, and suddenly I have a whole background story for them, their families and their relationship… Jack/Ennis from “Brokeback Mountain”… it has been years and I still can’t get over the ending of that movie. And finally Crosshair/Howzer from “The Bad Batch”… they have so much potencial !

First ship: was probably from the Cherub books. I loved that series when I was younger, and I’m pretty sure James and Kerry were my first big ship.

Last song: “My goodbye” from Epic the musical. New obsession.

Last movie: “The Roomate”… I love psychological horror and thrillers, and overall it’s a pretty entertaining film.

Currently reading: my attention span is so bad these days I can’t even go through a whole book, so the only thing I’ve been reading lately are studies for my college papers.

I notice the response I get when I talk about Damiano David’s amazing voice and know that other people are craving wicked, hard rock singers too. There’s something so satisfying about a heavy song with some rough around the edges, passionate, powerhouse vocals. MeloDia Cristea is simply in a class all her own. No one has sounded like her ever. It’s honestly exciting to find someone whose going to make music history before they’re even famous.

You deserve to know about her, she deserves more recognition, so let’s begin. MeloDia is in a rock/metal band called Liliac with her siblings, currently aged 14-22 (she recently turned 20). They’ve released covers and original work. So brace for very tacky, but age appropriate visuals. Their musicianship is very impressive but this post is going to be about MeloDia Cristea specifically.

She’s already receiving backlash for her gorgeous outfit from Liliac’s predominately boomer aged fanbase because such a high level of modesty is required of Melodia Cristea. All while her male fan base practically had advent calendars for her 18th birthday they were so excited to legally sexualize her. There’s an overinflated sense of entitlement amongst some people that comes from years of helping fund the Cristea’s music career. Its understandable, but MeloDia is outgrowing those restraints and I would like to be part of the fanbase she can grow into. ☺️💕

Max Minghella is sitting in his backyard in the LA sunshine, his t-shirt an homage to the French filmmaker Mia Hansen-Løve, his adopted shepherd mix, Rhye, excited by the approach of a package courier.

“You okay, sweetheart?” he asks — the dog, not me — tenderly.

Minghella, who at 35 has dozens of screen credits to his name, is best known as The Handmaid’s Tale’s cunning chauffeur Nick Blaine, a character who it’s difficult to imagine saying sweetheart. In airless Gilead, of course, a cautious hand graze with Elisabeth Moss’ June can pass for a big romantic gesture. In a Season 1 episode featuring child separation and hospital infant abduction, Nick’s major contribution is to trade stolen glances with a sex slave while “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” pumps discordantly along. I ask Minghella about playing the series’ closest approximation to a dreamy male lead against the show’s dark narrative of female subjugation.

“I know this is not the answer you want to hear,” Minghella says with none of Nick’s hesitation. “But I like that stuff, right? In the pilot, I think Nick only had a handful of lines. It wasn't clear that this is what the character would turn into. And it's quite fortunate for me personally, because I'm not a massively sort of intellectual person in my real life. I love Fifty Shades of Grey. That's like my Star Wars. It suits me to play a character like him.”

Minghella surmises that this enduring romanticism is an outcome of nurture. His father, the late British director Anthony Minghella, made grand romantic dramas like Cold Mountain and The English Patient. And there was the young, cinema-mad Max sitting on the living room sofa, absorbing everything. “It’s taken me a long time to understand this,” he says of his prolonged childhood exposure to love stories. “My dad made The English Patient when I was 10. So it was two years of watching the dailies to that movie and then watching 50 cuts of it. And then [The Talented Mr.] Ripley he made when I was 13, and it was the same thing.” These were an adolescent Max Minghella’s alternative to reruns. “I think they did shape my perspective on the world in a lot of ways, specifically The English Patient. That was a complicated love story, and I wonder sometimes how much it's affected my psychology.”

Some sons rebel; others resemble. Minghella’s co-star O-T Fagbenle, who plays June’s other lover from before the time of Gilead, got his first job acting in Anthony Minghella’s romantic crime film Breaking and Entering. “Anthony is one the kindest, most beautiful men that I've ever had the privilege of working with before,” Fagbenle says. “And Max has his gorgeous, sensitive, open-minded soul.”

Though Minghella spent his childhood on the set of The Talented Mr. Ripley, playing an uncredited Confederate soldier role in Cold Mountain, and tooling around with a Super-8 camera Matt Damon gave him, he insists his upbringing was normal. He grew up in South Hill Park overlooking Hampstead Heath in London with his father and mother, the choreographer Carolyn Choa. (Minghella also has a half-sister, Hannah Minghella, who is now a film executive.) Yes, technically, it was London, but that’s not how it seemed. “I feel like I grew up in a very small town. Every school I went to was in Hampstead. I was born in Hampstead,” Minghella says of the small map dot of his life before university. “When I went to New York, I felt I was going to the big city.”

Despite his illustrious surname, movie-watching was far from restricted to the classics. “Beverly Hills Cop is definitely the movie I remember having an unhealthy obsession with. I think I saw it when I was 5 for the first time, and I'd watch it just two or three times a day for years. I'm just obsessed with it.”

Plenty of actors can trace their love of movies back to a love of stories, but for Minghella the relationship seems to flow in reverse. When he left for Columbia University, Minghella opted to study history for its connection, through storytelling, to film. It was during the summers between his years of college that he started taking acting more seriously. Before his graduation, he’d already appeared in Syriana, starring Damon and George Clooney. Soon, he’d make a splash as Divya Narendra in The Social Network in 2010 and be cast in Clooney’s Ides of March. As all young actors eventually must, Minghella moved to Los Angeles.

It’s been over a decade since he last lived on the Heath, but, perhaps unusually for a person who’s chosen his profession, Minghella is adamantly not a “shapeshifter,” in his words. Home for Christmas this year, he started sifting through old journals stored at his mother’s house, “just like scraps of writing from when I was extremely young up through my teenage years,” before coming to America. “It was hilarious to me,” Minghella says of staring at his childhood reflection. “My review of a movie at 7 years old is pretty much what my review of a movie at 35 will be. My taste hasn't changed much. And when I sort of love something, I do tend to continue to love it.”

Which brings us back to his enduring love of romance, born of his bloodline, which is all over Minghella’s own 2018 directorial debut. Teen Spirit is a hazily lit film about a teenage girl from the Isle of Wight — the remote British island where Max’s father Anthony was born — who enters a local X-Factor-style singing competition. (It stars Minghella’s rumored girlfriend of several years, Elle Fanning.) The story is small, but its crescendos are epic.

Minghella calls the movie — an ode to the power of the pop anthem — “embarrassingly Max.” Max loves a good music-driven movie trailer — he’s watched the one for Top Gun: Maverick “many” times. And Max loves the rhythmic beats of sports movies like Friday Night Lights. Max loves movies with excesses of female energy, like Spring Breakers. He likens Teen Spirit to an experiment, his answer to the question, “Can I take all these things that I love and find a structure that can hold them?” The result is a touching “hodgepodge” of Minghella’s fascinations, inspired by the songs from another thing he loves: Robyn’s 2010 album Body Talk (itself a dance-pop meditation on love).

Minghella hasn’t directed any films since, but he sees now how making movies fits his personality — organized, impatient — more organically than starring in them does. Directing also helped him to appreciate that acting is “much harder than I was giving it credit for,” which, in turn, has made him like it more. Besides The Handmaid’s Tale currently airing on Hulu, Minghella appears in Spiral, the ninth installment in the Saw horror franchise and, from where I’m sitting, at least, a departure.

“I do like horror movies, but the thing that was really kind of magical is that I was feeling so nostalgic, right? We talked about Beverly Hills Cop earlier. I was just missing a certain kind of movie,” Minghella explains of his new role as Chris Rock’s detective partner. He was yearning for simple story-telling, like in the buddy cop movies of his youth, especially 48 Hours. It almost goes without saying that a buddy cop movie is another kind of love story. “And then I read the script and it was very much in that vein.” He clarifies: “I mean, it's also extremely Saw. It's very much a horror movie.”

His renewed excitement for acting translated onto The Handmaid’s Tale set, too. Veteran Hollywood producer Warren Littlefield describes casting Minghella in the role of Nick as an effortless choice: “Sometimes you agonize over things. [Casting Minghella] was instantly clear to me, and everyone agreed.” Now in its fourth season, the tone of the Hulu hit is graver than ever. Gilead is more desperate to maintain its rule, and so more audacious in its violence. Perhaps it’s fitting that the show’s romantic gestures finally match that scale.

In one particularly soaring moment, Elisabeth Moss’ June and Minghella’s Nick meet at the center of a bridge and crush into a long kiss. It’s been two seasons since they held their newborn daughter together, and it’s hard to see how this isn’t their last goodbye. Littlefield, like Minghella, is here for the romance among the rubble. “It's spectacular when they come together. In the middle of all of the trauma is this epic love story,” he says. “Max is just magnificent in the role.”

For Minghella, the satisfaction is more personal. He works with good people, he likes his scenes, and he thinks Nick is a complex character. Minghella read The Handmaid’s Tale for the first time in college in 2005. Like all the things Minghella has ever liked, he still likes it. He’s as proud of this most recent season as he is the show’s first. And he watched Nick and June race recklessly back to each other across the expanse of the screen exactly how you might expect. “I watched it like a fan girl.”

✨- which fictional character (book, show, or movie) do you relate to most?

That is very great question. Currently, I’m obsessed with “The Invisible life of Addie LaRue” (you can blame that on @writingmaneskin), so I’d say I really relate to Sam. She’s (in my opinion) one of the most prominent characters. The same way she views people and then transforms them into skies, filled with stars, clouds or thunders; the same way I transform people into sentences and stories, filled with beautiful words. (Hopefully.)

☕- coffee or tea?

Coffee. Because it’s amazing. Especially a large cup of dark coffee... No better way to start the morning (other than with a morning kiss @teenyweenynightghost). 

🍪- cookie dough or cookies?

Cookies, but I don’t know how to make them. In fact I suck at cooking overall (you can ask Addie about that and she’d confirm it).

I’m taken. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard it here, I have a girlfriend. And yes, me and her met through Tumblr. Yes, I was a huge fan of her. Do we live in a fanfiction? Probably, yes. Are we one of the most epic (if not the most epic) love story of all time? Absolutely oui.

I would love to live in “Two broke girls” mainly, because I used to watch it all the time growing up. (Yes, long before it was appropriate to do so.)

I am slightly anxious, but also happy. Pretty light burnt orange, I’d say.

Winter. Cold, ice skating, Christmas, my birthday. Oui, oui, oui.

I smoke. (Not necessarily a good habit, but a habit regardless). I go to the gym at least three times a week. I go to the flower shop every Saturday after I’m done with gym and get me a few bunches of flowers.

Now, I had to think a lot here, because I don’t wanna over share, but perhaps the fact that I actually try to be this very cheery and happy person on here, but I am far from it in reality. In fact I don’t remember when was the last time when I felt genuinely happy and carefree. (Maybe it was years ago.) But I guess that’s on me. I always wished to be a great writer, never a happy human. 

🌧️- favorite thing to do on rainy days?

Depends. If there are thunders, curl up in a bankie with a teddy bear and cry to my girlfriend over the phone. (Guess who is terrified of unexpected loud sounds?) If there are just lightnings or like just rain, I like to sit by the kitchen window and write or sketch.

I think others think I’m a good writer, a kind person and a nice friend.

1. Flowers. I adore flowers; if anyone ever gets me flowers... Yeah, in love.
