I cautiously embrace all technological advances because they will hopefully one day be at the disposal of the many, rather than the few, but cautiously because in the societies we currently inhabit these advances have and will be used against the people e.g. surveillance technologies. but being against technological advances for no clear reason, or on some principle, is silly

so the soul colour isn't actually a physical soul in that sense as anything with a sense of self, self awareness, identity, sentience, or along those lines, would have a unique colour assigned to them. As such I'd say yes, anything that'd affect the identity in a large way or sense of self would change the colour. Prolly cool if someone was, say, co-con and the eye colours blended together hoohoo so many cool ideas....

Ethical Writing

An open question for people with mental illnesses, trauma, and/or who have been discriminated against:

Which piece of fictional media do you think portrayed your experience/trigger with care? What about it, specifically, did the creator do well, and what could they have done better?

I am in the semi-early stage of writing stories with controversial topics. To explore found family and the struggles of becoming an adjusted adult. I am not trying to write as if I have firsthand knowledge, but with characters who experience it. "It" being: various abuse, substance issues, foster kid/homeless, neurodivergence (not just autism/ADHD/anxiety), being non-white, etc. I do not want to make # trauma porn or be # edgy. (No hate for the whump community.)

Keine intelligente Uhr

Wir sind in einem Hotel, wo für unseren Aufenthalt alle Mahlzeiten inkludiert sind. Man kann auch selbst Getränke holen und muss die Maschine dafür mit einem Chip, der an einem Uhrband ist, freischalten. In den Unterlagen nennt das Hotel das die AI Uhr.

G. und ich rollen mit den Augen. "Alles wird heutzutage Artificial Intelligence genannt, egal was wirklich für Technik drinsteckt", denken wir uns sinngemäß. Und dann nach ca. 12 Stunden schießt es mir ein: Es ist die All-inclusive Uhr! Das Hotel behauptet gar nicht, dass der Chip künstlich intelligent ist.
