Jokes aside, as an Indian I’m very insulted by this. Clearly no Indian designer or even a single South Asian mother nani or dadi was consulted for this.

Seeing characters in romance stories just jetting between countries at a moment's notice with no thought for visa; seeing airports as sites of triumphant climaxes and romantic denouements instead of places of fear and danger where a sword hangs above your head— it all breaks off little pieces of my heart. They're constant reminders that my people will never be human enough in the colonial world order to be allowed to move freely around it. No matter what your race, those non-refugees living in the Global North will never understand what it's like to be part of a global ghetto where your passport is nothing but a trembling supplication and humiliation.

#it is interesting how many fans want kate to be a complex character with flaws but also need to paint her#as the perfect selfless victim of her family in order to pretend that she made no mistakes#rather than acknowledging the little agency she had in the show#people will claim they want messy female characters and as soon as they get them will insisting their mistakes were someone else's fault#and i know a large part of this is because fandom is so worried about the hate and racism and misogyny that is/could be thrown at kate that#they need to remove any flaws that kate has and put her on a pedestal which is boring and a little dehumanising in order to protect her from#that hate and sexism and misogyny#but it makes kate a duller less interesting character and it takes away any complexity that the writers gave her#and look i have many criticisms of shondaland and their writing of kate and edwina who both weren't that well written#BUT I will say one thing shondaland does that deserves credit is they allow their female characters to be as flawed and messy and complex#as their male characters#and frankly removing kate's messiness to defend her and make her more palatable is frankly just uninteresting#If you can understand that Edwina was wrong for the half sister line you can understand that kate was in the wrong when she lied and in ep 5#It is interesting how many kate fans will insist on her being a complex female character while simultaneously needing to paint Kate as#its not rocket science#I also find it funny that pple who do this are annoyed that no one blames anthony#and yet they too do not blame anthony#instead write pages and pages of meta blaming edwina for everything and constantly calling her 1/4 white#disliking edwina is fine but its telling that people cannot do this without simultaneously white washing her identity as an indian woman#oml this got long#my 3 am ramblings#because i see so much stupid shit on my dash despite my best efforts to prevent it

The mental gymnastics people on this site will do to not admit that their fave is racist is actually mind-boggling.
You all have this understanding of racism that is so fuckig basic and naive. Racism isn't just "I don't like POC" anymore. It is a consistent and constant dehumanizing and ostracizing of POC from spaces. It is applying a different set of rules for how you expect POC to behave and function. It is a refusal to listen to them when they tell you something is offensive. It is refusing to listen to our stories and voices. It is refusal to defend and stand up for us when we are being silenced or attacked. It is when you defend a relationship with a racist person by saying shit like "everyone has the right to their beliefs". It's a lot of things and Taylor has checked the box for a lot of those things in turn.
This is just off the top of my head but Taylor's racism includes:
Using antisemitic dogwhistles like "shameless greed" against a jewish man
Not actively calling out the fucking nazis in fanbase
Appropriating the concept of Karma for her shitty song and using a lot of vaguely Indian imagery for the music video
Turning black women into a caricature for her music video
Never apologizing for taking a picture with a guy who had the fucking swastika on his shirt
Being friends with a guy who publicly admitted he gets off on black women being brutalized
Saying nothing while her fans attacked and drove a black actress off of social media for a line she didn't even write
And probably a lot more that I forgot
All this while saying she doesn't want her privilege to lie dormant and wants to be on the right side of history.
She doesn't just get to be called an ally because she wants to be one. She has to do the work for it. She has stop associating with (and consequently uplifting) racist people. She has to start calling out racism in the industry and apologize for her own ignorance regarding the issue.
Sorry for the rant but this needed to come out of me. OP your white girl is racist, no matter how much you ignore it or rationalize it.

I've gotten tired of making a post like this every few months so let's just fire a few of these off, and feel free to add on! Tropes you should at minimum reconsider using when you write or talk about Julian Bashir:
Mentions of "harem" pants, "Arabian nights" aesthetics, etc. These are improper terminology (that feeds into racist ideas) for real things, and when using that terminology those things are often being misrepresented. For my part, if you would actually like to know about the material culture of the Middle East and North Africa, I'm a "hobby" researcher of that very topic and will readily answer asks about it- with the caveat that I mostly know about Egypt, and I'm not the best person to ask about Sudanese specific culture even though I know a little, and I don't know much about Indian or Pakistani fashion (mentioning because these seem to be the most common cultures brought up around Julian).
comparisons to monkeys, apes, the word "simian". This should be obvious but it happens a fair amount, and it's almost comedic given a common trope is to comment on how much Garak hates being compared to a lizard.
This is separate but the way some people use mammalian tips from writing xenofic and trying to understand how an alien would think and categorize things into something that feels very exoticifying. It's not a "full stop, do not do this" but it is something I've noticed
Jokes about how undesirable Julian is. He's the exception that proves the rule about fandom's obsession with white twinks and a rare example of a brown nerd who isn't pinned into the "Couldn't sleep with a woman if they were the last two people on earth" box. I'm not saying we can't make fun of how he flirts just- Stay clear of Raj BBT territory
Conversely: my most hated garashir trope is when the author makes Julian's libido a problem by making him inconsiderate, cruel, and outright manipulative in service of his dick, and the writing often makes it clear they're connecting this to his masculinity. Julian does do some really stupid shit when it comes to his relationships, but this particular way of trying to incorporate this into writing him is just OOC, and you need to not confuse writing Julian's canonical robust and healthy sex life with negative stereotypes about lecherous Black and brown men. There's fics that pull off Julian being a bit of a dick or manipulative well- such as Salt the Earth or the ageswap series (at least where I last left off on it).
making his eyes green or blue. I have the same eye color as Siddig, more or less, and while it's technically hazel (or olive, as some people call it) most people think it's brown and most lighting makes it look brown. If you look at screencaps of Julian, you'll notice it also most of the time, looks brown. This sounds minor if you haven't experienced it, but it has a real and very negative impact on people's self image.
Older one but to be clear: if you're writing Julian as explicitly Muslim, find and replacing "god" with "allah" in English text is not how Muslims (or Arabic speakers in general) use the word? It is really funny to read, but please...
Over focusing on Julian as British. There's a long, LONG conversation that could be had about the dynamics of assimilation and how European racism (ime) very specifically views it as progressive to strip people of their culture and thinks they're causing the problem if they don't go along with it that would need its own post and which I've had with white fans before and feel exhausted thinking about- but to put it simply, there is no such thing as "just British", even for white Englishmen.
Yes the inverse is also wrong but I really haven't read a fic newer than 2014 guilty of that lmao and I think some of the more recent complaints about it are overblown, given I've read only a few fics recently published that delve into Julian as a Brown/African Person and I enjoyed them
I would personally appreciate it if fic writers were a little more balanced about cultural discussions honestly. If you write a lot about Cardassian culture, it'd be nice if Julian’s background was discussed. I won't say that kind of research is easy (again, I do this as a "hobby" that's very important to me, it's actually really annoying and difficult sometimes), but it is possible. I recently talked about how not doing this kind of mentally slots Julian into a "white guy" role.
This is not a matter of me policing your "artistic expression". I have no control over what you do. I would just like for fandom, a hobby I do for fun, to be a place where people stop being racist in a way that directly impacts me.

So, I have a doubt ( I am a straight women ,27 and Indian ) is it a crime that White man is attracted to white man in US bcoz I have seen a lot discourse that u only ship bucktommy bcoz they are two white man , So if they are both white they can't have feelings for each other , I am genuinely curious bcoz I don't know the dynamics in US or races in that country .
If you are uncomfortable to answer this I can understand
Thank you
and I just want to say I also really would like to Ravi to be main in S8 and rooting for Ravi begins and Tommy begins and Haters gonna hate no matter what the ethnicity /race/gender if that isn't your ship
Ok so if I understand this ask correctly you’re asking why people say “you only ship them because they’re two white men” as a negative for BuckTommy and the answer is essentially that due to racial dynamics in the US, Eddie is considered not “really” white because he’s Latino (more accurately he’s Mexican, Latino is a cultural group the same way Dravidian is, for example) and Latinos experience a lot of discrimination in the US. So the implication is supposed to be that someone is being racist for shipping Buck and Tommy over Buck and Eddie
See, on Tumblr, there’s some people that think you can’t just dislike a ship, it has to be proven as immoral for other people to like it at all, so they pick the opposing ship apart to “prove” it’s “problematic.” Hence why last week someone tried to lie about the only BuckTommy scene in the episode to try to say that Tommy responded to Buck’s attempt at connection by “bringing up Daddy kink out of the blue” (if you watch the scene, Buck says “I guess we both have daddy issues” and the flirting continues from there) or trying to say that Tommy calling Buck “Evan” is proof he doesn’t respect Buck/is just like Buck’s parents/etc or that calling him “kid” makes him a predator. (All real things I read in the tags of that post btw)
Of course what makes this funny to me is that I have actually been in a fandom where two men were shipped together primarily because they were white men in close proximity to one another, to the detriment of the canon relationship between the white man and the Latino lead: Teen Wolf. I am very aware of what happens when a barely-supported-by-canon ship between two white men takes over the fandom and starts pushing out fans of color and letting racism against the other characters run rampant. This is not that. People ship Buck and Tommy because they are dating.

Native American activists under attack via cancel culture say they hope to stop woke efforts today from obliterating wide swaths of United States heritage and history.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the Boy Scouts of America both appear to be erasing traces of their Native American heritage, according to activists and to the evidence as well.
Also, America’s most famous Chiefs fan right now, Taylor Swift, is being hailed by some as the great woke hope who can force the franchise to cave to charges of racism and end its “tomahawk chop” chant.
Not in Our Honor, a Kansas City-based group, said it was “hopeful” that Swift would be an “ally” in their effort to force the team to end the tradition, according to media reports during the football season.
The legacy of popular Kansas City, Missouri mayor and Arapaho tribal member Harold Roe “Chief” Bartle could be obliterated in the fallout. He is a foundational figure in the history of both the Chiefs and the Boy Scouts — at least until he’s canceled, American Indians fear.
“It’s a woke firing squad looking to tear everything down by telling us that Native Americans and Americans need to be divided,” social media influencer Maurice the Native Patriot (@lanativepatriot), a Swinomish Indian from Washington state, told Fox News Digital in an interview last week.
“It’s become popular to think that even seeing a Native American image is racist.”
Bartle was mayor of Kansas City in the 1960s, when the AFL’s Dallas Texans moved to town. The team was renamed in honor of his efforts to land the franchise, according to the team website and many other sources. Bartle also spent much of his life in the service of the Boy Scouts. He was a champion of civil rights, according to several biographies, as well as devoted to Native American heritage. But his multicultural legacy is in jeopardy now as both the Chiefs and the Scouts are distancing themselves from their Native American roots.
“Native American history is American history,” Tony Henson, the executive director of the Native American Guardians Association (NAGA), headquartered in North Dakota, told Fox News Digital.
“This effort to divide us comes from the ‘hate-America’ Marxist crowd that wants to tear down tradition and rebuild the United States in their own image,” Henson said.
Yet the Boy Scouts are “looking to remove all Native American aspects of the program,” one Pennsylvania troop leader wrote in an e-mail obtained by Fox News Digital.
The troop is also said to be scrambling to create a new insignia to replace “a Native American chief/brave logo” that it’s been using “for over 60 years” to meet what the letter claims is a new directive from the Boy Scouts of America.
Fox News Digital reached out to the organization, which refuted those claims. “There is no national mandate from the BSA to remove all Native American imagery from the Scouting program,” Scott Armstrong, national spokesperson for the Boy Scouts of America, told Fox News Digital in response.
He said local Boy Scouts troops may have “misinterpreted” guidance about dialogue with local First Nations leaders.
“The goal is proper respect, not removal,” said Armstrong.

I always want to wholeheartedly agree with the "create what you want, just label it" argument. I really want to. Right up until people defend unexamined bigotry. For example, I once ran into a story where Martha Jones was actually about to fail out of medical school when she met The Doctor, because she was "incapable" of learning human anatomy and medicine, and despite "bribing her teachers". I wrote in my journal that I thought the story was racist, in a public post, and people scolded me for being censorious and not letting people "have fun". (This was back when LJ was viable.) I have a pile of other experiences like that. I would never agree with the antis that Someone (aka them) should prevent people from writing whatever, but I feel like to completely agree with "create what you want, no limits, nothing matters but creating," I have to agree that a fan of color has no right to be hurt by a story that turns an intelligent Black woman into a cheat and an idiot, even in that fan's own space. What do you think?
You have every right to feel offended or hurt by a story. But your hurt and offense does not negate someone else's ability to create. Nor does it dictate that you can tell them what they can and cannot create.
How do you know the author wasn't a person of color themselves? How do you know they weren't writing the story based on their own emotions, difficulties or experiences? Is painting a person of color as 'unintelligent' a common theme in their works or was it just the plot device of this specific story? If Martha Jones was Asian or Indian or Caucasian, would you have still been offended on her behalf that an intelligent woman/intelligent woman of color was being turned into 'an idiot'?
These are questions we have to ask ourselves when trying to determine if a work was genuinely created with the intent of being harmful. Because individually not liking or being hurt by the content's of a story is not a good enough reason to advocate against it.
The 911 fandom, for example, saw a lot of it with Eddie Diaz. People were so entrenched in fandom virtue signalling that pretty much any depiction of Eddie Diaz in fanfiction was getting bitched about as 'out of character' or 'racist' including works written by actual people of color. It got to the point where for quite a while fanfiction production within the 911 fandom dropped way down because people were too annoyed with or upset by the constant accusations no matter what was being written.
And I know it probably sounds like I'm just smokescreening for racism or excusing it. but I can promise you, I've blocked and reported authors and fandom creators before for being blatantly racist in their content. But fanfiction and literature become trickier because the purpose of stories is not to be palatable or feel-good. Stories do not have to be pleasant. Fanfiction does not have to conform to the source material.
Describing someone as "incapable" is typically a turn of phrase and has nothing to do with trying to allocate unintelligence to a specific type of person. Plenty of people would be classed as "incapable" of learning medicine because its a hard fucking thing to learn. You need to dedicate more or less five-ten years of your life to studying it before you even really get anywhere with actually practising it.
If you're someone who's easily distracted or has trouble remembering things and vice versa, you're unlikely to go into a career field that especially demands these things of you.
I imagine in any case her failing out of medical school was likely the plot point that leads her to going off with The Doctor. Which is a simple narrative and not a case of "unexamined bigotry." Its just as likely that if the author had had Martha Jones simply give up her aspirations and career to follow The Doctor, someone else would've been offended by the trope of a (black) woman giving up everything for a (white) man and deemed the story sexist or racist. Possibly both.
When analysing literature you have to be critical of if something is offending you personally or if it was intended to offend people of color as a whole. If the answer is only the former, then its a situation where you just have to recognise the work is not for you and move along.

KingKobra to UwUCobra
REQUEST:  Bonjour, could I maybe get another story? I think in this community a lot people write the typical jock transformation stories. And I mean, it is great. I do it quite often. But could you maybe write a more effeminate transformation for me? I try to do that every so often, just to keep things diverse and fresh. [trigger warning: racism and homophobia]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was Brayden aka KingKobra. A young 21 year old dude who had been into bodybuilding since he saw his first movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was about 12 or 13. Ever since that day he wanted to be a massive, He loved the way chicks stared at him and he loved lifting weights. When Brayden went to college he found himself doing anything to avoid studying and mostly played video games after the gym. He decided to stream on twitch one night when his mates couldn’t join up but to his surprise he was a massive hit and he became one of the top Valorant streamers within a month. He couldn’t walk around campus anymore without someone calling out his gamer tag, which is how most people knew him now, the KingKobra.
Tumblr media
The problem with a guy like Brayden getting as big a platform as he did was the fact that he was an asshole, and he gave other assholes a place to hang out. his channel was 100% straight male viewers between 18-28, even when girls or gay guys found him hot to look at they couldn’t handle his stream. He would constantly say racist, sexist and homophobic shit. Other streamers, especially the ones within the campus community refused to collab with him and there was a collection of “Beating KingKobra for The Girls & Gays” meme video’s on Youtube made by other streamers who beat him in a game but that only added fuel to Brayden’s fire. One afternoon something came up in Brayden’s recommended, a YouTube video from another streamer titled “Cutting off Kobra’s Head” it was a montage of Brayden dying in the video game over and over to some funky pop song. The streamer who made it was GetGlockBlocked. GGB was a masc gay Indian guy who not only competed against Brayden in game and for views but also competed against him in the gym GGB was just as big and just as strong as Brayden and this video sent him over the edge, he knew exactly what to do to get his fans behind him and so he started streaming, within seconds of going live he had hundreds of guys watching. “Hey bros, KingKobra here, just wanted to do a quick reaction to a video posted by GetGlockBlocked who thinks he is better than me, so here we go” Brayden played the video pretending it was his first time watching, every time he died to his competitor there was some excuse to undermine GGB’s skill. His viewers got fired up following along as hate speech. The video ended and Brayden told his chat his final thoughts. “I mean, yeah bro its a montage to a catchy tune but fuckin. Glock, bro, all you do is play fucking Killjoy and Sage, fucking skill less agents, but I mean I know the fags like those characters and your whole brand is teaching bitches and fags to ‘carry’ with them but your team does everything and then you put a turret kill in a montage and call it skill, like okay bro” Brayden’s chat was losing their mind, shouting homophobic and racial slurs. People even started clipping what he said and sending it to GGB. “Listen bros, he might have his girlie fucking montage video but just remember after college Ill be Mr Olympia getting paid to play video games and he’ll be driving a fucking taxi” Brayden couldn’t contain his laughter and his chat only egged him on further. After watching the video he streamed for a few hours and then went to bed. In the morning he saw a post about GGB taking a break for a week and laughed, exactly what he knew would happen once he made his review of the montage, his fans hate raided GGB on twitch, twitter and about every other site they could. That’d teach him a lesson, no one fucks with the KingKobra.
Something else was on Brayden’s phone too, a PM on twitter. He thought it would be some fucking scrawny nerd asking for his workout routine again but it was from someone else, someone named “GGBs Biggest Fan” “I hate you and your community, why do you seriously need to bully other streamers. You are so fucking toxic, is your dick actually that fucking small that you need to make up for it with ego? apologise or suffer the consequences” Brayden scoffed at the message and simply replied
“I’m not KingKobra coz I think snakes are cool, I'm called that coz my cock is 9 inches bro, aint gotta make up for shit”
Brayden’s phone suddenly sparked and electrocuted his hand. It hurt like a bitch but something else happened, a tingling all over his body. His dick got hard and he got horny, his huge muscular frame is his bathroom mirror was such a turn on all of a sudden, he knew he was hot but he never jerked off to himself before? the sensation in his body got stronger and stronger. Brayden started to jerk off but his dick felt numb, it didn’t relieve the hormonal pressure constantly building in his body. He bit down on his lip as he started to feel himself up, his hands going on auto pilot sliding along his body to his waist when a thought crossed his mind. The thought of a huge muscled guy putting his large hands on Brayden’s waist and biting down on his neck. “what the fuck why am I..” he moaned out loud, he wasn’t a fag, he thought but he couldn’t string his thoughts together as he just got hornier and hornier. Instinctively his hands found his was to his ass and he shoved 2 of his meaty finger inside himself letting out the loudest moan of his life.
He...didn’t want to do this, at least he didn’t think he did. He kept going, unable to stop, it felt better and better by the second. Moaning every time he started to hear a change, with each noise he made his deep masculine voice got high and higher. Something else was happening to as he watched his body begin to shrink in the bathroom mirror. His 6.4ft frame strank down to 5.4ft and his muscle deflated like a balloon, tears welled in his eyes as he realised the long he pleased himself like this the worse the changes were, but he couldn’t stop, it felt so good. When his voice stopped changing and his body stopped shrinking the pleasure only got better, and Brayden went faster and faster, seeing now the last things to change. His 9 inch dick slowly shrunk down until it was a mere 2 inches and his ass began to balloon hot. It already had a muscular ass but now it was twice as big and perky. He finally came, the clarity completely setting in that something fucking weird happened and all his hard work and manliness had been stripped away.
Tumblr media
his hips were sider and his mid section sucked in from underworked lats. He still had muscle but only to shape his body, there was no strength or bulk behind him anymore just shape, purely made to be sexy. “nyah, like, ah, what the fuck” his newly stereotypical voice cried out. Even the way he spoke had changed.
Brayden’s phone buzzed as multiple emails came in but the main one he saw was from Twitch [Topic: change of channel name SUCCESSFUL]. Brayden opened the phone to check his channel seeing the name changed to “UwUCobra”. The profile of a cartoon Cobra holding a gun in its tail and been swapped out for one of his new body in a tight maids outfit and his banner once covered an overly stylised, overly masculine mess of guns and girls was replaced with bright pink, love hearts and his new body posing in a sexy way.
“Oh, my, gwad. surely if I start streaming, the guys will notice the change, ya? that’s my way back, ya?”
He ran to his computer and started a stream and soon hundred of guys had flocked to his channel. another message appeared on his phone.
“don’t think I forgot about your fans bestie!!!”
As Brayden read his twitch chat he didn’t think anything was different, the same super masc guys commenting, talking the same, until a few outliers began to appear. “Put on the maid outfit!!” “Wanna come sit on daddy’s face??” “Only Fans when?” KingKobra had created the most toxic disgusting community on twitch, filled with guys who thought it was fine to sexually harass girls at bars or online, he encouraged it, he thought it was funny but now the world was different, reality had shifted. When he checked his viewer demographic it was no long 100% straight men, it was 100% gay men. His viewers had been transformed as well, but unlike him who became a tiny gay twink his viewers were the same assholes, the only difference now was they were guys who wanted to fuck Brayden. KingKobra was gone, deleted, Now Brayden was the UwUCobra, forever being treated like an object meant for sex and pleasure rather than a person. Months had gone by since his change and every day he regretted not being a nicer guy because now he knew what it was like to live with having 1000s of guys sending you unwanted dick picks or demanding he make on only fans.

BLACKSWAN drama summarised:
BLACKSWAN is a Kpop group that originally started out as a five-member group with Fatou (Senegalese), Leia (Brazillian/Japenese), Judy, Hyeme and Youngheun (all Korean).
Fatou is the first African Kpop idol and was the only black Kpop idol for several years. Leia was the first Brazillian Kpop idol.
Blackswan underwent a massive lineup change after Hyeme, Judy and Youngheun left the group and Leia was kicked out for multiple reasons:
Leia groped Youngheun's breasts on a live stream, which she stated made her extremely uncomfortable. She groped Judy as well.
Leia started bullying accusations against Fatou that she later apologised for and said were fake
Fatou got a lot of extremely racist hate from people who believed the accusations and Leia's apology was very weak and did little to stop the hate.
Leia is... not a good singer. She spent 7 years as a Kpop trainee and remains a bad singer.
BLACKSWAN's new lineup consists of 4 members: Fatou, Sriya (Indian), Nvee (Mixed African American) and Gabi (Brazillian). Leia wanted to remain in the group and said she hadn't left, but Fatou confirmed that the 4 member lineup had no plans to be changed.
They are now the first Kpop group to have no Korean members. Their Indian-inspired song "Karma" was a hit and is BLACKSWAN's most successful song. Their single "Cat And Mouse" was listed as one of the best Kpop songs of the year. Fatou released a self-produced solo mixtape "Adaeh" that was promoted by Pop Base, multiple clips of BLACKSWAN went viral, and they performed at Waterbomb Music Festival.
Shit popped off when Youngheun liked Tweets calling out Leia and made posts against her, saying that Leia had been kicked out of multiple groups, she could have been in Pristin, but was talentless. Bearing in mind, neither Youngheun or any of the BLACKSWAN members have been able to do anything on social media without being harassed by Leia stans and also bearing in mind that Leia literally groped Youngheun and made her leave the group.
Many, many stans came to Leia's defence, completely ignoring what a shitty person Leia is, for no other reason than because she was Brazillian. They started out harassing YoungheunThey started an "anti-hate" campaign for Leia... primarily consisting of harassing BLACKSWAN and Youngheun on social media. The "anti-hate" campaign claimed that Fatou was a bully to the other 4 members and Leia, based off decontextualised TikTok clips, and that Fatou was a bully to Leia because she liked Youngheun's Tweet and Tweet's supporting Youngheun. Bearing in mind that Youngheun was one of the people who convinced her not to quite Kpop.
Despite the main runners of the "anti-hate" campaign claiming that they didn't endorse racism, Fatou went through an extreme amount of racist hate again, and Sriya and Nvee were targetted as well. Someone also attempted to post deepfake porn of Sriya (who is 19!!!).
Fatou asked her fans to send her the Tweets of the people that were harassing her (probably a lawsuit), and quite a few of the Twitter users instantly deleted their accounts. Sriya has also made it appear like she may be looking to sue. Their company (DR Entertainment), whilst known for being shitty, is working on protecting them better.
Leia stans are continuing to send hate to the members on Twitter under the guise of "freeing" Leia. Leia has nothing she could be freed from. She was kicked out of DR Entertainment and BLACKSWAN. All the "evidence" that Leia was ever bullied or a victim is extremely dubious.
TLDR: Leia, a half-white half-Japanese ex Kpop idol, groped 2 fellow members, started false bullying accusations against Fatou, a black Kpop idol, and was kicked out of her group and company. Leia's stans continued to harass her victims, spread racist hate and are spreading a misinformation campaign to defame Fatou and pretend that Leia is a victim.
Shorter TLDR: Leia is a fucking looser with racist fans who only like her because she's Brazillian and she gives them an excuse to harass a black woman.
Even Shorter TLDR: Fuck Leia lmfao
Anyways, show some love for BLACKSWAN if you can. They're really talented and do not deserve the hate they are recieving.

In general white queer Atsv fans seem to be under the impression the poc of the Spidercast have to basically be turned white personality and presentation wise to act queer which is very harmful at worst and really annoying at best.Sorry not sorry but Miles is never gonna have some Love,Simon shit going on with Hobie and he dosen't need a bi awakening considering that realistically he probably knows he's bi already by online things and extra not sorry but trans boy Miles is nothing like M.cu Peter who's the actual disgrace on the Spiderman legacy Miles haters think Miles is and if Miles needs a queer awakening by another Spiderperson, she'd be a trans girl egg that was cracked by Gwen and it makes way more sense than 'Hobie gives Miles his first gay panic' and i can't emphasize enough how much Punkflower is more like a lot of poc4poc m/f ships than they are any bland white gay ones and Miles dosen't even have to be transfem in the context for it to be accurate
Much like this,a significant amount of Ghostflower content has Miles acting white to make it conform to norms rather than a proper transmasc4transfem couple i.e existing completely outside of cisheteronormativity and Gwen is self-inserted into by certain people in the fandom who can't accept she's not a racist weirdo like them but a genuinely realistic and awesome trans girl who's good to the characters of color and that the jealousy scene was ooc and only existed to make Gwen look bad and screw over Margo even further and it's important to note she's never been mean to Margo nor expressed actual dislike of her as a person.Margo is magically not part of the poly Spiderband despite deadass being Miles' crush and when black queer women BUILT the lgbt community and Pavitr is basically had microaggressions thrown at him nonstop by feminizing him because white westerners don't know what actual positive masculinity instead of praising men for the bare minimum is or anything about indian culture that's not the chai joke
Spiderd*ds is so fucking gringocore and as a Peter B selfshipper since 2018 y'all've made it impossible to like the newer fan content of him and i feel so bad for Miguel because he dosen't even seem to like Peter B all that much seeing as their ONE scene was him being DIRECTLY annoyed by him and showing it unlike Margo and Gwen who don't have real beef but every fandom needs it's nonexistent in canon smut fest with racism injected into it ig.Jessica's canon trans in the comics but like Margo,y'all're no blacks and women dni in bio types
And Hobie.Good fucking GOD,white punks and white people with punk fetishises can't act right.Next mf to make a they/them Hobie joke is seeing stars,Prowlerp*nk is on my shitlist purely because Miles G is made into a violent tsundere by everybody who ships it and i never wanna hear about how the super darkskin black character should've been aroace instead of the center of romantic attention to BOTH mcs.Hobie is a black transsexual, not your papable lil trans gag character and the sweetest, gentlest person ever who's a consent king and that's right there in the text by his relathionship with Gwen and oh btw, yeah, they ARE dating and he has way more reasons to be into her than he does any white boys cause he stays having a thing for transfems and i'm giving major sideeye to black Gwen being nonexistent for multiple reasons too when it's so fitting and such a no brainer take
Point is:Be better.Stop acting like poc have to whitewash ourselves to be queer. You ain't slick

Theitsa, I just came across this and I've got to admit I'm confusion: 1) Doesn't Miller spend many pages referring to how "fair" Achilles is compared to other Greeks, to the point where it gets disturbing?
2) Does Miller and her readers even realise that a "dark" Greek doesn't look the same as a "dark" Indian or a "dark" Afghani? Like, I've seen how weirdly she describes the skin colour of Greeks but I always thought it was her pretentious, flowery prose, I didn't think she was a) that ignorant or b) purposely altering their appearence.
For context, that's the linked post (please don't harass OP if you come in conact with them)
Tumblr media
1) Doesn't Miller spend many pages referring to how "fair" Achilles is compared to other Greeks, to the point where it gets disturbing?
Hmm not sure about that. There were some references from what I remember but I am not sure if it gets disturbing if we consider the ancient Greek view of blond people. For ancient Greeks a light skinned person with golden hair was like a god because it was so rare to see such an appearance in this area. Although I oppose Miller's approach in many cases, I think what she attempted here was to reflect the importance of this difference for the ancient Greeks and the message war more or less shown. Even today when Greeks see a naturally blond person they attempt to learn if they are actually Greek for many generations, because it's extremely rare and you can hear Greeks from time to time mention their time with a "natural blond Greek" as if it was a miracle 😂
What I mostly disagreed with is how she described the skin tones of Greeks, which gave me the "western exotisation" feeling.
What was even weirder for me in the novel is that Patroclus gives the impression of considering his own darker skin as something negative. This view is not supported by the ancient Greek beauty standards for men, since being tanned was generally desireable. Miller probably fails to understand that she wasn't dealing with modern western world racism. In the ancient Greek world the admired by the ancients fairness of Achilles doesn't mean "fair = better" for men's beauty standards. Only if your appearance was veery different than the average man there was a problem if you were too dark or too light.
I also feel like the "pale fanart Achilles" complaint OP has shows ignorance and (unknowingly) the hidden old racist notion of "all Greeks are dark and can tan". OP and other people should know that being natural blond and dark skinned for native Greeks like Achilles is almost impossible. Blond Greeks whose families were locals for centuries have light skin in the overwhelming majority of circumstances and I have yet to see the opposite. So it is actually accurate to make Achilles generally light skinned. Perhaps not "British pale" and certainly not "Swedish blond" but the guy is probably lucky to be able to tan a little 😂 (many Greeks, especially light haired ones can barely tan)
2) Does Miller and her readers even realise that a "dark" Greek doesn't look the same as a "dark" Indian or a "dark" Afghani?
She probably doesn't see a difference, if I'm honest. For many westerners anything darker than snow goes to "Brown" category and "Brown" people are seen as having an interchangeable appearance, if I judge even from the fanarts of progressive Westerners. Many of her western readers probably hold the same opinion.
2) Like, I've seen how weirdly she describes the skin colour of Greeks but I always thought it was her pretentious, flowery prose, I didn't think she was a) that ignorant or b) purposely altering their appearence.
OH SWEET SUMMER CHILD 😭😭😭
Last but not least: In the Iliad I don't remember a distinct difference of skintone mentioned between Achilles and Patroclus. They probably both had the average light-with-tanning-ability skin of the average Greek man of central Greece. (Given that one of them is freaking BLOND I had to find a middle way 😂) But what I wanted to say is that what made them nearly indistinguishable in battle was 1) the armor 2) the fighting style. I suppose if some skin was shown, it was kinda similar. But if Patroclus was darker perhaps the chaos of battle didn't allow people to pay attention to it.

Part 1/Part 2
Masterlist
[Billy the Kid (Tom Blyth's version) x desi!oc]
Warning: description of blood, slight violence, flogging, racism, flogging, slaves, smut in maybe part 6?
Summary: Sheila was a slave taken by a British couple at the age of 12 for her singing. She was brought to America even though they had the 13th Amendment where slavery was abolished. She saw a friend of hers, who was brought with her, getting flogged and that was her last straw, proceeding to run away. Until she sees the most notorious outlaw in the South, then she settles to free her friends from the British couple that came to America for money.
Tumblr media
It was July.25, 1878, Lincoln County, New Mexico. Sheila woke up to nothing but harsh screams coming from one of her friends as she was beaten and whipped. She felt worried because the girl was new…Unlike Sheila who had been with the owner since she was twelve, merely because his wife liked her singing when they had come to visit British India.
Her friend, Catherine, was a sad sixteen-year-old, mourning the death of her parents. They had threatened the owners of telling law enforcement what was happening but they knew that they wouldn't do anything about it.
The other slaves ran to her screams but were faced with fear and did nothing besides revel in their powerlessness. Sheila sat there, her damp brown skin and greasy raven hair clinging to her shell of a body. She knew how this would end, knew that they would be feeble against the man–Edward J. Mason– but she was ready to clean Catherine’s wounds and reassure her that she would be alright.
“Oh, look at my slave, Sheila, so obedient! You never have to hurt her, Edward!”
The sadistic gray-haired man chuckled, kissing his wife.
“ And aren’t I glad, Penelope! We chose her when she was twelve, it has been seven years since, of course, she’d love us, this is why I love Indians! They always gift us with beauty and trust.”
They both glanced at the gaunt, starved girl before chuckling. The Mistress patted Sheila’s head and reached for a rake beside her, beckoning to the other slaves.
Penelope Mason was a woman no different from her husband. Many wives were afraid of their spouses but Penelope was a wife who had nothing but pride in her bones. The rake in Penelope’s hand was covered in blood, meant to whip the slaves that threatened their control and most times Sheila could willing block out the screeches and screams, but now she just felt angry, ready to beat the couple with no morals.
But she was stuck being useless to defend them.
Fear is a burden that was attached to her like a drug, and only withdrawal held her back from screaming her heart out.
Until she found a boy with the brightest blue eyes.
From what she’d heard, he was an outlaw.
Billy the Kid was infamous because he was the man who killed a sheriff months ago, and chased out of the state. It was a mystery how he gained the courage to return to New Mexico.
“ Who’re you?” The man questioned, his vibrant cobalt eyes gazing at her with hostility.
Sheila didn’t want to think more about the dominant color in his entire posture and frame. His clothes were darker than sin and brighter than the sun, but his eyes were the only thing she could pay attention to, causing her to ignore their proximity.
“ I am a slave, belonging to the Mason family.”
He tilted his head, shocked eyes analyzing their surroundings.
“ I didn’ ask what you were forced to be, I asked who you are.”
“ My name is Sheila, is that what you want?”
“ Huh, I’m Billy, but considerin’ the poster you were starin’ at a min’ ago, you already know that. But...how did you...No, how dare they have slaves!”

as i'm posting a lot about the Toymaker it's only fair to address the elephant in room regarding his racist history and characterisation. i feel this is important, especially as i will be writing fanfiction and creating similar fanworks for him. discussion of racism re: the Toymaker below:
i tend to veer far away from fandom discourse, and don't believe enjoying a bad character = glorifying their bad traits. however, i'm a white person who has privilege in not being personally, directly affected by racism, and i think it's important to have this discussion about the Toymaker, a character whose history is inextricably tied with racism and whose recent depiction is canonically racist, whether we agree with this portrayal or not (or how well it was handled). the following are things we can't, and shouldn't, ignore:
in his original portrayal in the 60s, the Toymaker was played by a white actor (Michael Gough) who wore a Chinese mandarin outfit. this outfit was apparently sourced from the set of Marco Polo due to the BBC's tight budget. even though Michael Gough (the Toymaker's actor) was not putting on an accent nor was he in yellowface (the latter incorrectly sourced from a poorly-tinted print advertising the serial), this choice is unquestionably offensive today.
the word 'Celestial' as in 'The Celestial Toymaker' (alternately the name of the serial and sometimes applied to the Toymaker himself) was used as a slur for Chinese people at some point in history. i can't verify, but i believe it was sometime between the 19th and 20th century. although it appears that the term was supposed to refer to the Toymaker in its astronomical context, as a godlike, transient being, in combination with his outfit it is obviously offensive.
in the original broadcast 'The Celestial Toymaker', the King of Hearts (one of the Toymaker's pawns) outright says the N word. this is while reciting the 'eeny, meeny, miny, moe' rhyme, and appears to have been an ad-lib by the actor. this is revoltingly racist, and is rightly cut from most audio re-airs or animations.
the Toymaker as depicted in 'The Giggle' is a racist; he freely makes racist microaggressions and uses stereotypical accents in order to torment other people. the most overt example of this is his 'you must be used to sunnier climes' comment to Charles Bannerjee, a brown-skinned British man of Indian descent (his parents being from Kerala is sourced from 'The Giggle' novelisation). in the BTS for this episode, RTD has said this portrayal is a conscious effort to address the character's racist history: canonising his original outfit as a purposeful, offensive choice.
responses to this modern canonisation of the Toymaker as an actual racist have been mixed:
some feel it's a clever way of boiling the character's history down and making a truly despicable villain.
others feel it's a heavy-handed attempt to 'get ahead of the curve' of being criticised for the character's legacy, particularly as there was nothing to indicate the character was racist himself in the original portrayal. these are roughly my feelings about this choice.
for some, it makes sense that the Toymaker is racist because he views everything as a game, including playing with character's race and culture: it's all a performance to him, and as a nonhuman, godlike being, why would he have our cultural sensitivities except to weaponise them and hurt us?
however, by the same stroke, some wonder why would the Toymaker be racist at all if he likely exists beyond our human notions of race, as well as other qualities like gender, sex, age, etc.?
wherever you fall on this spectrum of feelings towards the Toymaker's character, ignoring this history and these facts can be harmful. i've seen a lot of POC upset and alienated alternately by the choice to canonise the Toymaker's racism, as well as the choice to bring back the Toymaker at all given the character's history. now, i'm a fan of the Toymaker. i love camp, theatrical villains; showy reality-benders with little regard for personal space; awful bastards who murder and abuse and don't care one jot about who they hurt. he's a fantastic concept with awesome powers and undeniable style, and the moment the Toymaker was announced, i knew i was going to fixate on him. this is a common feeling for lots of people: many of us simp for gorgeous bad guys, and that's fine! however, i'm conscious of doing real harm by either replicating the Toymaker's racism, or choosing to ignore it entirely. even if i disagree with this recent characterisation, i would hate for anyone to feel disrespected, excluded, or harmed by my fandom activities, particularly of the gushing 'oh he's so cool/handsome/etc.' variety, or creating ship, x Reader, x OC fanworks. so here's what i'm thinking of doing:
in my fanworks for the Toymaker, i will not be recreating his overtly racist characterisation. although i may be replicating, for instance, his pseudo-German accent (a Bavarian stereotype), i will not be writing him using microaggressions, nor will i be expanding on this trait by writing him using slurs or similar racist behaviour. this is because i feel doing so would be more harmful to my friends who are POC, as well as strangers who may stumble across the fanworks. this is also because i do not feel i could handle such a subject in a nuanced, meaningful way, and don't want to inadvertently upset people just trying to have fun in fandom.
to prevent the former being an erasure of the character's racism, i will link to this disclaimer if the Toymaker's racism is relevant to a fanwork/discussion. the aspects of the Toymaker that i enjoy are centred around his being a ridiculous, playful character, and i have no interest in exploring his bigotry. likewise, i do not want to continually remind POC fans about his racist characterisation, as i do personally feel that the way RTD handled the topic was clumsy and ill-informed. however, i recognise that i have privilege in being able to make that choice, and do not wish to glorify racism as an attractive, desirable trait.
i understand that there will be folks on both sides of the aisle who will feel strongly about the choice to enjoy the Toymaker as a character at all. some may feel strongly that fandom is not activism, and that posts like this aren't necessary when simping for a bad guy played by an attractive actor. others may be actively harassing people for finding the Toymaker attractive, or as a character worthy of exploration. i feel strongly that no one should be harassed for enjoying things in fiction, and i will not tolerate hateful or abusive language/tactics being used in any facet of this or other discussions. i hope that we are able to have open, honest, and informed conversations about the Toymaker's racism, both historically and in the present. we shouldn't shy away from the topic because it makes us uncomfortable, and people do have a right to choose whether or not to engage with triggering content. let's do our best to be mindful and respectful of each other's boundaries, educate one another where possible, and continue to have fun in fandom without harming others.
thank you kindly for reading this! this was written as well as i know how, but please do let me know if this approach seems like a good idea, or if there are other things i should be considering. take care, and have a lovely day 💖🙏
