Hanging out with the mechs would be so damn good. Once you get past the initial hesitation and introductions, and they figure out that having humans around is good for everyone, they'd be like First Aid. Setting up little human traps to lure you into spending time around them.

Drift's is a little austere but so cozy. He carefully selected seating in colors that are supposed to be calming. There's a shelf of poetry books, and some art supplies and adult coloring books, and blank notebooks so you can express yourself. He's adjusted the lights to be warm and not too bright.

Hot Rod's has a minifridge full of every kind of junk food imaginable, a giant pile of cushions all in his own colors, and an absolutely massive television with a bunch of game systems. The game systems have racing and fighting and football games (and Animal Crossing).

First Aid has several scattered around the medbay, all equipped with water bottles, fruit, earplugs (!!!) and noise-canceling headphones, and a white noise machine. A few weighted blankets, and some carefully selected memory foam beds. There's even canopies to shade out the infirmary lights and drapes you can close to feel enclosed and safe. At least one is tucked into the wall, and they're all carefully out of range of mech feet.

Ratchet does not have any. He gets swarmed by humans anyway.

Optimus Prime is never in one place long enough to maintain a human trap, but he has a sleeper cab that is tricked tf OUT with pillows and fairy lights and books. Minifridge is empty but he always gets groceries delivered if you're coming with him somewhere. There's even some "Learn To ____" craft kits with things like crochet and knitting supplies. And, because a human specifically asked for it, translations of Megatron's early revolutionary works. Talking with humans about it has been surprisingly healing...

Jazz has the most elaborate setup, created for a lot of people to hang out at the same time. He has a whole arcade with BeatSaber, DDR and those sit-on racing games, a stupid huge sound system, movie theater with giant couches you just sink into. There's a popcorn machine and a drink station. (Prowl is pretty sure Jazz just stole the contents of a movie theater, but hasn't been able to prove it.) There are also a bunch of music instruments if you want to play, or learn to play.

Prowl has a human-sized desk for working, a leather couch, the fastest internet you ever saw in your life, every single streaming service, and a coffee bar. It's very quiet, very simple, but you absolutely won't be bothered by anyone else. Prowl will probably not even acknowledge you. It's the ultimate for parallel play.

Bumblebee would rather kidnap you and take you on patrol to where ever you want to go, so he can get you out of the base. There's a whole world out there! He carries extra changes of clothes and shoes and some toiletries in case you end up staying out a long time.

Hound has a little oasis that's practically an indoor temperate forest. Lots of plants, a huge indoor pond with fish and a fountain, a bench to sit on and bask in the light from a skylight. He'd probably invite you to help tend the plants and fish. Offer you some fresh-grown fruit from the trees.

Wheeljack's is officially considered a health hazard. There's boxes and boxes of spare parts and tools to play around with, spare chemicals for experimenting, lots of science texts from Cybertron that he translated (poorly) into Earth languages. A fire extinguisher (Red Alert insisted) and a first aid kit (First Aid insisted). Though most of the time if you're around Wheeljack, he's going to draft you into helping with whatever he's working on, instead.

Bluestreak's is understated but pleasant. He has a hammock set up with a very, very soft blanket and pillow, and he got Sunstreaker to paint a night-time mural with accurate star patterns as seen from Cybertron. There's a few little games and fidget toys, beanbags to toss around, one of those sticky dartboards with fuzzy balls to throw. He also starts a collection of stuffed animals.

Bulkhead has every single Lego set. All of them.

Tailgate and Cyclonus (mostly Tailgate) have messy playthings like silly string, water guns, sculpting clay, finger painting. There's a giant ball pit.

Arcee has actual guns, and a vast array of knives and swords. You're about to learn self-defense whether you want to or not.

Swerve has the most wild karaoke setup you have ever seen, or ever will see, and a clothes closet full of designer outfits and accessories in every possible size and fashion for performing. You're going to feel like a superstar.

Brainstorm has a 40-ounce Big Gulp of soda placed under a cardboard box, held up by a precariously balanced stick, which is attached to a suspicious string that trails off into the distance. The Big Gulp is a holographic projection.

Rung has puzzles, both the flat kind you put together and the 3D kind you have to solve. There's different colors of sand and sculpting tools for expressing yourself in a zen garden. There's a giant plush teddy bear big enough for you to climb in its lap, and calming music. Aromatherapy in pleasant fragrances. Also, lots and lots of candy.

Whirl has alcohol and fireworks.

Basics of Servitor Creation and Implementation

For those new to chaos magic, or who are unfamiliar with the terminology, a servitor is an entity created by a magician to perform certain tasks autonomous from its creator.

Phil Hine writes in Condensed Chaos: Adventures in Chaos Magic that servitors are essentially a kind of psychological complex created "by deliberately budding off portions of our psyche and identifying them by means of a name, trait, symbol", after which "we can come to work with them (and understand how they affect us) at a conscious level.”

Servitors can be created to perform a wide range of tasks, from the specific to the general, and may be considered as expert systems which are able to modify themselves to take into account new factors that are likely to arise whilst they are performing their tasks. They can be programmed to work within specific circumstances, or to be operating continually.

Phil Hine, Condensed Chaos: An Introduction to Chaos Magic (New Falcon Publications, 1995)

Note: While some purport that servitors are a part of a ‘thoughtform continuum’, starting with ‘unintelligent’ sigils and eventually getting to the complexity of egregores and godforms, I think it would be prudent to mention that I don’t think I agree with the distinctions people tend to make between servitors and thoughtforms, namely that servitors are simpler and have less agency than thoughtforms. I can see why it may be helpful for some to keep them disparate but I find the separation unnecessary especially since there are certainly instances where servitors can be sophisticated enough to harbor agency and even intellect.

Generally, I’ve seen magicians follow a model similar to Austin Osman Spare’s sigil creation technique to encode a particular intention for a servitor to operate within. Alternatively, a magician may choose to create servitors from negative aspects of their psyche so they can interact with those traits as personal ‘demons’ and eradicate them. This is to say there are probably limitless ways you can program a servitor to aid you in your magical and mundane life.

When creating a servitor, I begin with a similar mindset as creating any other magical tool by first determining my intentions. What do I need help with? What am I seeking? Try to take note of the thoughts and emotions that are influencing your intentions and even try to imagine what things will be like after the task is complete; by collecting and holding all of this mental data during servitor creation, you can strengthen the complex it is born from.

Note: This is why I find there can be varying degrees of success when trying to use a servitor that someone else has created. While someone could have had great success with their servitor and enthusiastically shared the steps for its creation, you do not have the same psychological and magical ties to that entity and therefore may not really be tapping into what makes it tick.

During this inception process, also consider the level of sophistication you want your servitor to have. Ask yourself questions like:

Is your servitor made for one specific task and then it is banished or does it work in perpetuity (or until you stop it)?

Do you have to summon it each time you need it to perform a certain task? If so, how?

Is your servitor like a magical automaton, doing a set action like a machine, or can it learn from its experiences and adapt how it operates?

Does your servitor have a lifespan? Are you able to resummon the same entity if needed again or would you create a new version of itself?

Does your servitor have agency?

Does your servitor communicate? If so, how? Can it interact with other beings besides yourself?

Does your servitor require energy or sustenance? What does it require and how often?

By having set rules or constraints baked into the creation of your servitor, you can ensure it operates the way you want it to.

As you are thinking of all of this, picture what your servitor looks like, how it moves, if it has a sound or a voice—the more detail, the better.

Give your servitor a name and a sigil. You can create the sigil based on the servitor’s name or task using something like Austin Osman Spare’s sigilization technique or something more abstract. (My personal divination deck, much like Sakura Kinomoto’s cards in Cardcaptor Sakura, also houses an entity in each of the cards and the art on the card is essentially the entity’s sigil.)

Before launching your servitor, determine a ‘kill switch’ for the entity if anything goes sideways or you need it to cease working immediately for any reason. This can be a phrase or an action but make sure it is something you cannot accidentally do. If you connect your servitor to an object, simply destroying that object would also work.

Finally, with all of this information at hand, you can launch your servitor. You can do this as you would fire off any other sigil or you can choose to do something more ceremonial. (The defunct account @trollkunnig outlines a method of essentially ‘contracting’ a servitor in this post.) At this point, you can tether your servitor to an object, if you choose to do so. I have also connected a servitor to an additional object after its programmed task was completed with a renewed intention and a course of action should its original services be needed again.

People misunderstand why Gaara killed before he met Naruto

Gaara did not kill for funsies, I'm tired of people saying that when we have this scene explaining Gaara's motivations: self defense that was later taken to extremes, and wanting a purpose in life.

A lot of people don't notice how polite and level-headed Gaara was in his introduction scene. He stopped Kankuro from fighting Sasuke, then apologized to the Konoha genin. This is his true nature, and is also mentioned by Kankuro during the Lee fight, when his siblings and Baki were worrying about how Shukaku was awakening. This composure becomes more noticeable as Gaara redeems himself later on.

Unfortunately, most people only remember Gaara's psychopathic moments: attempting to kill Team Kurenai, moments in the Lee fight, and attempting to kill Sasuke. In each case he was shown to be heavily influenced by the bloodlust Shukaku imposed on him, with Sasuke's case also involving the need to prove himself worthy as a weapon and therefore had a right to exist (as explained in this hospital scene and fitting with Rasa's confession in the war arc).

If you look closely, all Gaara's actual kills were out of self defense: the three Ame genin, the two Kusa ninja in the hallway, and Dosu. All of them tried to kill Gaara first, so in his eyes, they were all threats to his existence, regardless of their strength. Sure, he's skilled so he could have avoided killing even when others were aiming for his life, but when killing is allowed in the chunin exams and Gaara was trained to be a killing machine, there was no reason he would respond differently than those assassination attempts. There is still a difference between merciless and evil/sadistic. Gaara did not enjoy doing that, he only deemed it a necessity.

Now for the special case, his attempted murder of Lee in the hospital: Still, Gaara didn't go there because he was given a tough fight or he "didn't get to finish off" Lee. He went because he saw how Guy protected Lee and couldn't comprehend what fighting for a "precious" student means. Gaara was connecting that with flashbacks of Yashamaru while hesitating, before Naruto and Shikamaru showed up. The motivation behind this, which he himself couldn't name, is basically jealousy. Gaara witnessed an act of love for others, and experienced this confusion and envy-fueled bitterness for the first time. This Guy moment and later Sakura's selfless act of protecting Sasuke were the cornerstone of Gaara's interest in Naruto, who demonstrated most explicitly how true strength comes from fighting for others.

So I've listed Gaara's complex reasons for each of those actions. He may have once been a villain, but he was never a simple-minded, killing just because, "demon" that even some fans like to call him albeit affectionately. (I often mentally correct them that Gaara wasn't a demon; he had a demon. In his tailed beast and in his father.) It is in fact because of Gaara's ability to reflect on his situation, on top of being a kind soul at heart, that he could find inspiration in Naruto and turn his life around. Naruto didn't use a whole speech pointing out how and why Gaara was wrong like he did with Nagato and Obito, he didn't even know Gaara's full story. All Naruto did was offer a single moment of empathy, but Gaara learned a new way of life from Naruto because he was wise, a quality that never changed in his character.

-Singed is unfazed by the introduction, but Silco can tell he’s avoiding explaining why he never mentioned you. Did he not trust his own lab partner?

-At first, Silco sees you as nothing more than an oddity. Singed never mentioned having a daughter, which means he was deliberately keeping you a secret. That alone intrigues him.

- He watches you closely, testing you with questions and observations. Are you as brilliant as your father? Are you loyal to him? Or do you have your own ambitions?

-If you challenge his views, he’s entertained rather than irritated, he enjoys a good debate, and if you can hold your ground against him, he respects that.

-Over time, he starts relying on you for second opinions on matters of science or strategy, valuing your insight in a way that even Singed notices. You were smart, and he knew that.

-If you’re resistant to his authority, he finds amusement in trying to break through your defenses, pushing until you show emotion. He likes control, but he also likes people who don’t immediately submit.

- He gives you small tasks at first, testing whether you’ll follow his orders. The more useful you prove yourself, the more responsibility he gives.

-If there’s romantic tension, it develops slowly. Silco doesn’t rush things, nor does he entertain thoughtless distractions. But if he finds himself drawn to you, he won’t ignore it.

-The shift happens when Silco realizes he cares, which is dangerous for him. He lost Vander, and he refuses to make that mistake again.

-If you get hurt, he’s furious at whoever harmed you, at himself for allowing it to happen, and at the realization that he actually feels something about it.

-If you’re distant, he lets you be, for a while. But eventually, he forces you to confront your own emotions, just as much as he struggles with his.

-At first, he doesn’t recognize it as feelings. He convinces himself that he values your intelligence, your skills, that’s all.

-But then he catches himself watching you too often, lingering too long on the way you speak, the way you carry yourself.

- He rationalizes it as control, you’re useful, and he needs to keep you close. That’s why he’s so focused on you. Right?

-Except when you’re not around, he finds himself irritated, restless, like something is missing.

-Silco does not fall easily, and when he does, it’s like a war within himself.

-He tells himself it’s a distraction. Zaun must always come first.

-He wants to be indifferent. He needs to be indifferent. But when you smile at him, when you challenge him, when you see him, it shakes him.
