On October 7, Hamas broke into Israel and slaughtered, raped, and kidnapped hundreds and thousands of civilians, and recorded themselves doing so. Now Israel must fight to get their civilians back. Multiple hostages have already died, some from murder and others from poor conditions. 2 hostages who were recently saved said that Hamas did not let them have the medicine they needed. Hamas also has a 1 year old child in custody, and some women who have been released haves stated that they have been raped while in custody.

Updated statistics Casualties: Approximately 1000 civilians and 604 soldiers were killed. Hostages:There are currently 133 hostages held by Hamas, along with dozens of bodies. Rockets:-Over 12 thousands rockets from Syria, Lebanon and Gaza were shot at civilians from. -PTDS and mental crisis:Mental health facilities and hospitals report a rise of approximately 150,000 calls for help, approximately 11,000 soldiers and 100s of thousands of civilians have reported signs of PTSD. Evacuees: 100s of thousands of Israelis are still evacuated from their homes for their own safety. Terrorists casualties: Estimated 13,000 terrorists were killed, from different terror organisations (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis,ets...). Humanitarian aid: over 252,585 tons of food, 19,805 tons of medical aid, 3,200 were treated in Israel.

The day of the alarm, the world was silent

First poast of my new blog! a piece inspired by Iron Age depictions of animals.

I personally don’t mind the reveal that Aegon the Conqueror was motivated by dragon dreams about tptwp/war for the dawn; I actually like it quite a lot. Mostly because I like how Aegon’s legacy basically becomes: the unification of the realm and its peoples (a wholly positive thing) AND the iron throne (which has become a symbol of war and destruction). Aegon brought the realm together, but he also created that stupid pointy chair. The irony is that this chair, made of swords from all over the realm thus being a representation of all the different peoples in Aegon’s new kingdom, is meant to be the symbol of peace and unity. But in the current story, it’s become the driving force of disunity. And now hundreds of years later, now that the real threat that Aegon dreamed of has actually arrived, the realm is much too focused on who gets to sit on the silly chair more than anything else. Which imo would fall in quite nicely with GRRM’s deconstruction of prophecy, how people interpret it, and the ripple effects from those actions.
