🧃❄️ for the writers truth or dare!
🧃 ⇢ share some personal lore you never posted about before
Ooooh, what have I actually never shared here? Oh, I know! I did that thing that everyone says not to do and moved in with people I met on the internet. Lo, R, and I met on Tiktok of all places in a cosplay group we were all a part of. I don't think I've share that here. And then we picked a random place to move to that was nearish to family for all of us but also somewhere different.
❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?
So I shared the Chrissy and Jonathan childhood friends plot thought already. But I also have a thought of a fic (that again, I'll probably never personally ever write) of the Arcade Disaster that ends in Steve, Robin, Jonathan, and Argyle all being banned from the Hawkins Arcade. What did they do? Well, no one is telling Nancy for fear of their own lives, that is for sure. Whoever writes it has to be way better at writing Argyle than I am.

What I’m trying to say is that I think there would always be tension between Zuko and Azula. But it doesn’t mean Zuko wouldn’t try to help her. And it doesn’t mean she’s incapable of caring for her brother.
Now this we can certainly be in full agreement about. Zuko doesn't try to help her in this story at all, like I've explained many times now, because he's absolutely stuck on a very toxic mindset that he refuses to break. It's a concept that I wanted to explore because of how often I've seen people reiterating that he's "allowed" to resent her and never forgive her and have nothing else to do with her.
I'm not even that harsh with Zuko in that story, I'd say (bet a bunch of you thought I'd have another Sokka-punch straight to Zuko's face if they came face-to-face in this one, huh? X'D), I refused to write him wanting her executed because, while certain fans HAVE said that, I don't think I want to write a Zuko who spirals to THAT extent. But of course, I wanted to show through the story what it means for some people, unlike yourself, to believe that Zuko can't possibly help her, that he shouldn't, that it's even unethical to expect him to do it, and just... why? Why would this be the hill you want to die on? Why would you want this traumatized boy to never learn to work through his trauma and never learn to see more than his own pain? It was a lot of pain, nobody needs to hide that... but for a character who's constantly touted for being such a symbol of empathy, it makes very little sense that some of those fans, the very ones who talk about him being all about empathy, would demand that he shows none towards his sister.
So... yeah. This particular AU is a rarity for me because I really don't want to explore Zuko in this direction. I mean, nothing good would come from it, either: if I went any further, he'd likely wind up losing everything if he keeps clinging to this mindset. One of the ironies of Zuko's behavior in this story is that, in clinging to resentment, he ends up effectively reversing the situation that led to Azula's breakdown in canon: first, Sokka picked Azula over Zuko. Then, Katara and Aang do it too. Toph, as well, by helping them when she does. Iroh did, too, by harboring Azula when he did. Slowly and surely, Zuko ends up resenting ALL these people he loved for not choosing to support him on his "Azula cannot be forgiven!" crusade, and he takes it as a betrayal, just as Mai and Ty Lee betrayed Azula for his sake. And if the fact that Zuko could spiral into a situation that mirrors Azula's breakdown doesn't feel like a massive red flag about this headcanon, I don't know what will. But I do believe that nobody who loves this guy should ever want him to wind up in a position like this one.
As for Azula, I absolutely agree, though I also believe that her way of caring about Zuko isn't what most people want it to be. I don't think Azula could ever become someone who coddles him and treats him reverently... but I do think she could look after him in tough-love sort of ways. I do think she could want to protect him if harm comes his way. Theirs would likely be a complicated relationship, I suppose... but I guess that's why people say that there's no set way to love a person. Love comes in many shapes and forms, and not everyone can love others the same way someone else does. I don't think Azula can love Zuko the way he wants to be loved by a sibling... just as I don't think Zuko can do that for Azula, either. But if they learn to accept each other, to truly understand one another, I do believe they could reach a level of respect and, who knows, even lowkey admiration for each other in the best of cases, and accept each other's care and affection in whatever form it comes, provided it's genuine, of course. As long as they learn to see each other with clearer eyes, I don't think their relationship could ever lose all hope. It could work... it just has to be done thoroughly, and the work to amend it NEEDS to come from both sides. Zuko making all the efforts for an unresponsive and ungrateful Azula would be just as unreasonable as Azula making all the efforts for an unresponsive and ungrateful Zuko. So, provided they both grow up a lot, individually, I believe they can grow as siblings...
... Which is something I have been doing for them in a certain other massive AU in which I may or may not have written my most wholesome and positive version of their bond, unintentionally :'D
I do think that it's possible these two could learn to let go of the spite and resentment, to be honest. It can be done, provided that they're handled by writers who know how to guide the characters in the direction necessary to achieve that goal. And I say this because I feel like I've done it pretty organically in Gladiator, obviously some people might disagree, but I actually feel good about the place where I've taken their sibling bond there. So I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibilities for these two to heal. Their bond can be better, but it takes mutual understanding, then mutual forgiveness, to make sure they can become better siblings for each other. It would take time too, yes... but when you're talking to someone who's spent a decade writing a fic, being told that developing something like this "takes time" almost comes off as a joke to me. Of course it would: that's no reason not to put in the work to make it pay off if you want it to. Otherwise, I would have given up on Gladiator in like 20 chapters, upon realizing it was going to be my biggest venture in this fandom and that I wouldn't possibly know how much time it was going to take me to finish it :')

Okay, hear me out on this one:
Elita-1, prior to becoming Blackarachnia, was spunky, confident, and energetic.
Wasp, prior to becoming Waspinator, was a rude, arrogant bully.
So, perhaps to serve as a contrast to both of them (and be something more unique than just present day Icy given the idea of Icy being an alter created to act as the host rather than the original personality), Pre-TC!Blitzwing was timid, sensitive, and anxious to the point of being selectively mute, which is one of the many reasons why he never fronts during the show’s run.
Though given how chaotic the current BETC!Blitzwing-Blackarachnia-Waspinator dynamic is, one can only imagine how hectic the dynamic between their past selves would be.
Pre-TC Blitzwing would've probably had a lot be timid, sensitive and anxious about because of the triple changer subjects he was the only one that could fully classify and identify with being a warframe, unlike the commercial airliner/cargo plane Octane being shoved into the distorted title of warframe and Astrotrain being very much the most civframe out of them all; he may be more considered to be cargo/transport frame outside of the broad war vs civ generalisation. You'd have to be blind or blatantly ignorant to kinda skip over the fact that warframes have been a victim to prejudice and discrimination and that original frame Blitzwing very much has to deal with a lot of that bias and - both a combination of 'just being like that' and 'hyper aware of stereotypes' - comes across as someone more 'palatable' than the especially prevalent early Decepticon movement. Being selected specifically for Autobot research certainly doesn't fucking help at all- no no not one bit-
I've been thinking recently what Autobots actually consider as warframes since propaganda on Cybertron seems to state that there are no flying Autobots; the Jettwins a marvel and a bizarre sight to see on modern post-war Cybertron. Makes me think that the designation of 'warframe' is actually more broadly all flying frames (civillian and military) with the additional category for tank and weapon frames, ground warframes like APC units and heavy trucks being 'exceptions' considering that Bulkhead - our resident 'got into the academy once' Autobot - has an armoured truck alt on Earth; seeing how he was relegated to 'farm bot' on one of Cybertron's moons and further shoved out into a space bridge repair crew (even with his avid enjoyment for it), one could say that there is still energon in the water. Any 'Bot flier got banished, reformated or destroyed depending on level of resistance and interest in remaining on Cybertron.
With two civframes being being either spunky and arrogant (however much they each buy into Autobot propaganda), Pre-TC Blitzwing or the alter of him fronting would NOT enjoy himself one moment. The only benefit BETC!Blitz gets is that tapping out is a quick twist of the face and boom, someone to better confront the situation with.

I saw a commercial for the new Quantum Leap and I gotta say I’m not impressed with the replacement Al
Might even pitch an article about it because the reboot totally missed the point of Al’s wild clothing
Firstly it showed some of his personality
Secondly it hinted at what the future looked like (apparently the 80s aesthetic really took hold)
Thirdly, it was a visual cue for the audience, so they knew, even before it was established that Al was from the future, that this guy does not belong here
Al’s wild clothing allowed him to stand out from the crowd so no matter what we could pick him out, which also served to help Sam recognize him because no matter how swiss-cheesed his brain got there is no way he is missing some guy in a shiny silver jacket
And then the replacement Al is...a woman in a blouse and a pair of jeans? that kind of look like she pulled them back out of the hamper do we not have irons in the future? I know we have no-wrinkle clothes now
Like I had to look it up to make sure I wasn’t just blanking on this but literally the only sign she’s part of the project is her holding a remote (which just looks generic and not like Ziggy’s colorful remote are they not using Ziggy?)
There’s really nothing to make her stand out from Generic Background Character #3 she looks like she was abducted from her house after she decided to stay in for the day and told hi you’re going to be in the reboot no you don’t get a wardrobe change
Like at least give her a shiny jacket that screams Quantum Leap Project or scientist-person right now she just looks Bland

why r u so mad about ppl preferring ten x madame de pompadour to ten x martha like ten/martha will never be a thing. ten don’t want anything to do with martha. he literally said to her face she wouldn’t replace rose… and she never did… isnt canon enough for you
hm.
im glad im only a scorpio on this alone. if martha deserved better than ten then so do all of em but anyway:
this ask is giving 2006/07 i dont want to see tenth doctor in a romantic relationship with a person of color because i can't project myself or relate to them if they arent the very thing being catered to me ever since the silent pictures vibes. u know the same vibe when rtd was told to not regenerate 14 in 13's clothes. just. Ick.
but im not mad. its just interesting for a ship so big as tenrose, it is usually correlated with hating madame de pompadour and/or joan and/or river [though in joan's case they hate her not because shes racist but because shes not rose]
though comics tend to release to combat that in multi doctor stories where they jump through various alternate universes of themselves where the doctor sees themselves settled down with dr. grace holloway (for 8th dr multi doctor stories) and professor melody williams/river song (for 11th dr multi doctor stories) where in those cases, they are frightful of the concept settling down at all. [take note that both times, he settles down in the same house that he owns bc of that unit paycheck on the dl] so i am curious that with this new drs, the equivalent of this would be 13 14 15 being terrified of settling down with rose because they had grown past her as this point.
i prefer the doctor in a polyromantic ace relationship than their umpteenth 🌟tragic heteronormative romance with yt human woman number 23445788764443356743🌟 i want 14 to sweep martha off her feet in pure joy and kiss her passionately while badmouthing tf out of 10 like 9 11 12 13 do with no filter before cradling her like a baby because hes about to crumble under his brand new identity complex and then take her kid to an amusement park and then 14 trips over a brick and dies. hell i rather have nina sosanya play a whole different lady in nod to doctor who recycles their actors trope as a way to introduce a love interest to 14
that amusment park one weirdly sounds like a 8th doctor audio. pls 🙏🏾 dont make it into one i couldnt handle schezro let alone the rest of his content. Empire of the Wolf made me so fucking worried for rose marion tyler like im just she back home 🫣. as for rose tyler from the sea devil universe still out about. whoop his ass. if billie come back as HER? MISS COVER MODEL MISS DICTATOR MISS EMPRESS ROSE?
NOT
i would love for ten to be strictly friends with the new miss empress rose. get that martha karma real quick ehehehehe after all rtd did say they need freema for somethin and im sure seeing 10 get treated the same way he treated martha by no other than empress rose herself -AND THEN EMPRESS ROSE FLIRTS WITH MARTHA??? FINGERS CROSSED??? im just saying that i personally will ride on that for 8 black history months and christmases straight like woo
also real glad it is collectively decided by every one that tentoo is just john smith not corin so yay thanks big finish and titan comics
