Yorozu's fate is beyond sad. She's tied to a character who has been almost entirely utilized as a plot device, has her entire narrative purpose be to die to make Sukuna stronger, and can't even have any of her accomplishments mean anything. Oh, she's effectively a super-charged magical blacksmith? Yorozu figured out how to optimize her Cursed Technique? She defeated an fearsome foes in her era? No way, Yorozu made a Cursed Tool in her dying moments that she asked Sukuna to think of as her and take care with?
Pfft, how silly. Sukuna has more Cursed Energy and power than her, so what can her rinky-dinky armor do? Who cares if she optimized her Technique--Sukuna already adapted to it with his stolen Technique that seems to change in every appearance! And those foes she defeated? Sukuna defeated more fearsome ones, you know. He might have even had a connection to Uro, but not like he cares! And it's not like that Cursed Tool is going to amount to anything other than a Get-Out-Of-Trial-Free Card, anyways.
Oh, also, her love wasn't just unrequited, but actively abhorred, and the target of her affections would proceed to shit-talk her repeatedly after her death. Maybe that's not too important, because she was really only meant to pop a question and then die, so Megumi would be sad that his tool of a sister died, and so Sukuna could have something philosophical to lecture his opponents on.
...All salt aside, it's just sad.

Strength and humanity in the narrative of jjk
Gojo is Sukuna's mirror but he is not his foil. Gojo being Sukuna's mirror shows most post chapters 222, more so in 236. The most obvious similarity is their strength; Ryomen Sukuna is the strongest sorcerer in history and Gojo Satoru is the strongest sorcerer of modern times.
Another thing is their hedonistic nature. Chapter 236 makes it more prominent in Gojo, in his desire to reach Sukuna, his satisfaction with dying to a worthy opponent, him "doing jujutsu for the kicks of it". It makes more sense narratively if you view it as Gege making him Sukuna's mirror. I see it as a great disservice to Gojo's character that disregards his desire to protect the youth and rebuild the jujutsu society.
(And no matter what people say the students aren't prepared for it, especially politics wise. The remaining elders will most likely fill the power vacuum left after the slaughter of the higher-ups while the students are busy exorcizing curses all over Japan. Gakuganji is a vital ally in that but his change is thanks to Yaga and we don't know the extent of political prowess of Utahime or Kusakabe. The only student with any knowledge of the conservative faction is Kamo. Again, no thanks to Gojo. It's clear he expected to be the one leading the political change as the Gojo clan head.)
Humanity is their ultimate difference. Sukuna has discarded his ease, he doesn't care about love or loneliness. Satoru on the other hand is burdened by it, his desire to form connections with others that he doesn't allow because of him viewing himself only through the prism of his strength, is what makes him want to connect with Sukuna (I still think the teach him love part is stupid and nothing will convince me otherwise 💀). It would be great if Gege showed his care for his students as an example of his humanity (Sukuna doesn't care for anyone - Gojo does) but Gege hates Gojo too much to do that.
Unlike Gojo, Yuuji is Sukuna's foil and in some instances (e.g. the Shibuya fight with Mahito) his mirror. They have opposing values, strengths and weaknesses. Sukuna's strength lies in his intelligence, his understanding of jujutsu and his techniques (interesting to note, like Sukuna Yuuji masters concepts he was explained on the first try like the black flash or imbuing items with curse energy). Yuuji's lies in his values and beliefs, he doesn't back down no matter what and will keep going even on broken legs. Sukuna preaches about the importance of having an overwhelming sense of self and disregard for others, which Yuuji directly opposes with his cog identity, the purpose of which was to protect others. Yuuji finds strength in his connections with others, whether they taught him (Todo, Gojo) or to carry on their wishes (Nanami, Higuruma).
Now that we have 248, I can confidently say Sukuna's ideals are weak. When someone weak is able to stand on his level just because of the strength of their beliefs, he finds it unnerving as it forces him to confront the lack of his own ideals. He says he loathed them as a human.
Yuuji's indomitable spirit is the reason he is Sukuna's equal and why he is the protagonist. Fight me about it <3333

Sukuna is a good villain analysis
Coming from someone who hates villains that are evil because they were born that way and with no other explanation. To be honest, out of all the villains in jjk I always found sukuna to be somewhat boring , he is well written but I just couldn't really see what people saw in him. I still think that kenjaku is way more interesting than him but I will say that due to the recent arc and chapters that my opinion of sukuna has significantly changed.
Sukuna is the abstract embodiment of nihilism (in a way). His character for the longest time has always been about destruction and chaos. Sukuna's first introduction consists of him saying that he is going to destroy absolutely everything and there is a heavy focus on him destroying the woman and children. He simply views then as little maggots that he can easily destroy with ease. We later learn the connection (I guess) he has to his mother which he doesn't regard her disrespectfully and his devoured twin whom he is shown to remember the presence of. Every time we meet him before shibuya his power is further emphasised and he is further demonised and built to be the big bad.
Tumblr media
It is later in shibuya, during his fight with jogo that we get more to sukuna. In this fight sukuna brings out his CT of flames and jogo is surprised however, before sukuna kills jogo they share an interesting conversation. Sukuna recognises jogo's ideology and desires to be human and sukuna relates to it. He understands jogo's desires of taking humans place and ruling the world yet he views that view as foolish. This is where we learn that sukuna believes that being alone and having the power to destroy everything you care about is what makes one powerful. This can explain sukunas love for destruction and simple chaos. However, sukuna is incapable of understanding why he is talking to jogo, why does he even care for him in a way and instead of trying to understand he does exactly what he said to jogo that he should do and destroys/ fully burns jogo after calling him "strong". At this point both of these curses have experienced what it's like to be 'human' with emotions flowing through them that aren't negative but while one (jogo) questions it and tires to explore it the other (sukuna) rejects it and burns it all away.
Tumblr media
There's also sukuna's relationship with his relatives especially itadori his nephew. Sukuna and itadori share completely different ideologies while sukuna believes in him being the strongest and destroying everything he cares for to stay that way yuji will believes that he is a simple cog in a system and tries to do everything to fulfill his role and protect others. Both are strong characters yet it is yujis drive and strong resolve that makes him so much more mentally stronger than sukuna and what irritates sukuna as yuji is claimed to be unbreakable in his views and passion. Yuji also makes sukuna question his own purpose and what he is here to achieve. Even though the two are strangely similar in many ways considering that yuji is a part of sukuna they're vastly different especially with their ideologies.
Tumblr media
There's also the huge contrast between sukuna and his twin Jin itadori. Sukuna is strong, cold hearted and would put himself before anyone. Sukuna doesn't care for others and his existence is mainly him trying to satisfy himself and his needs while flaunting the immense power he carries. Yet from the little we have seen from Jin itadori he is is the polar opposite of sukuna. Jin itadori died for love, he was so blinded by grief that when kaori came back even though it was kenjaku he still loved her the same and he loved itadori more. It was stated that Jin really wanted to have a child and truly cared for itadori to the point he and itadoris grandpa got into fights about it. Jin from the moment we see him seems like a really nice and somewhat nerdy guy the complete opposite to his twin sukuna heck even their character designs are completely different with them only having the same colour hair and eyes (I think).
Tumblr media
These twins are also juxtaposed to the zenin twins. Its stated that sukuna had to eat his twin to survive in the womb due to how poor their mother was. However, the only thing that sukuna got out of his twin was the physical characteristic and his CT while Jin's soul went through cycles before coming into he human realm again. This contrasts with eh zenin twins whom voluntary chose to join together and when she died Mai chose to take all the CE they both had while dying physically she joined her sister spiritually by becoming a sword. Maki and Mai will always be together and entwined by their souls. The sukuna and jin twins are only connected physically which could be why sukuna has 4 eyes and 4arms.
Tumblr media
Sukunas own character design just shows that he is the embodiment of destruction and how he simply devours everything around him. When asked if sukuna ever feels lonely he literally says that he lives however he wants and that he can eat as much human flesh with all of them tasting different and filling him with different emotions. The closest thing that sukuna has to a friend is his loyal servant urauame and they only obey his orders while entertaining him. It's stated that the only reason sukuna keeps urauame around is due to their talent in cooking human meat, the same thing that gives him joy aka any real emotion.
Tumblr media
There are then his other fights that focus on sukuna and his views on love and power. Yorozu's fight is an interesting one where we get more on sukunas cannibalism and how both of those characters view love as a means of destruction and death. Yorozu is happy that sukuna killed her and got to know more about her through that while sukuna is questioned on stuff that he views as pointless and meaningless like marriage. Yorozu sees the solitude that sukuna is surrounded by and think that he can understand her since she has faced similar yet they heavily clash with sukuna believing that to have power one must face the burden of solitude. In the end yorozu, does give sukuna a gift crafted by her which he actually takes and uses during the current battle. Yorozu's attempts to get to sukuna and to make him reciprocate his love all fail even when she makes a TRUE SPHERE. Something that has the largest surface area and can contaminate and touch everything yet sukuna leaves untouched by yorozu at all. I think it's interesting that yorozu's heart took a shape of a true sphere just to show how obsessed she is with sukuna and her desire to be with him.
Tumblr media
Sukuna then fights with kashimo. Kashimo somewhat like jogo has an understanding of what it's like to be strong yet kashimo is sick of superficial interactions that the strong have to have with people that are inferior to them or want to challenge them. Kashimo asks sukuna if there is a way where he can be strong and surround himself with love sukuna says that this is selfish thinking considering his view that everything he cares for must be burnt for him to be strong. Kashimo isn't satisfied by only having strength but he also wants to experience simple things such as love, sukuna could of been similar to that long ago yet he gave up and has resorted to taking in all the destruction and enjoying himself from it. Kashimos fight with sukuna was more of a self discovery journey for the both of them and at the end they both come out on different sides.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After higumara's death there is a whole chapter about sukuna and he starts questioning his own life view. What has he been doing? Is it worth it? Where is the joy in what he used to do? And he is again faced with his complete opposite yuji. He is deep in thought and he feels empty, confused even he can't seem to understand why everyone is dedicating themselves to this belief, they're all united and strong yet he is alone and bored. Sukuna has done everything he has fought and killed but like kashimo said that caught up to him and now he is tired of it he wishes to experience the unity and stuff that the others fighting him are experiencing. Sukuna has no purpose but to destroy at this point but he has caused so much that him destroying over and over again has just been a mundane cycle.
Tumblr media
Yet things start to change as the tides are against him and he may taste losing for the first time.
In conclusion, sukuna is an abstract and literal ideology of nihilism to a cerian extent and conveys the big bad villain trope in a fantastic way. I find him way more well written than AFO and muzan.

i have a lot of issues with jjk in the recent years, but i do think the culling games colonies were enjoyable and fun, and that the character development and exploration tends to get overlooked. watching shibuya animated really made me realize that, even though i love that arc, it’s more about the chaos of that single day—the characters put in bombastic fights, power reveals, the villains’ plans set in motion, introductions of major plot lines and characters. kenjaku sealing gojo, yuuji’s entire fight with mahito, and toji’s second death were great emotional moments, but i like that chapters after the arc and in the culling games colonies make more time with self-reflection.
maki’s complicated relationship with her parents and sister, and her moment of enlightenment. panda’s familial bonds and having to say goodbye. yuuta discussing with uro and ryu on what’s meaningful in their lives, love, and the increasing pressure of being strong. yuuji’s overwhelming guilt and hatred of himself reflected in higuruma’s own past and thoughts, with him trying to spare yuuji from that blame. megumi trying to save tsumiki and yuuji, but inadvertently making everything worse, spiraling into killing others, and drowning in despair, when he’s the one who has to be saved. uraume’s funny relationship towards sukuna and kenjaku. kenjaku’s motivations unraveling with their desire to find something beyond their limits in a chaos they cannot control, and killing their friendships.
There’s more than that, but it was when I finally started to really love some of these characters, even ones we’ve known from the start of the series

jjk is pissing me off. there's no setup for anything. gege's like trying to catch up to his own story. like he's forced to just throw any idea at the wall to get a chapter out. nothing means anything. new information isn't exciting because it sounds like you just came up with it. it feels so disrespectful to what the story was near the start and the potential it had.

What do you think of chapter 257? I love that Sukuna is a monster even before he was born, it's great that his evilness doesn't have a justification or that it's a product of a "trauma" like other villains, he's just a monster. This was one of my favorite chapters without a doubt, I really wish Gege would show us at least something about Sukuna's childhood, it would be great to know what he was like as a child and why he had that perception of "being an unwanted child".
Idk man I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of the direction the writing has taken. Its a clusterfuck to me. I'm really happy you're enjoying it though!
Personally I think if Sukuna had known his twin and they'd grown up at least into young children and had a relationship/rapport like other anime siblings - Sukuna killing him would've hit much harder. If you want to showcase his cruelty or desperation at the time, the stakes and motivation would've felt much higher.
As is he...absorbed his brother in the womb? Ok. Feels like something that just kinda happened.

Gojo already being overpowered and then pulling out a super duper ultra powerful demon that's so strong, even the clan that uses it can't control it properly clinches it for me: Gege was That Insufferable Kid on the playground who constantly said "nuh-uh, I have THIS power too so your attack doesn't work on me"
Like I didn't think you could top BNHA currently having All Might in a mech suit containing all of Class A's Quirks coming out of nowhere to fight AfO who has a fucking EMP Quirk that he just doesn't use for some reason, but I legit don't know who to hand the "dumbest final arc in a current Shonen Jump series" award to yet. Hori at least gave us the Toga/Ochako yuri fight, and potentially Nobara might come back in JJK. Plus the final panels of Gojo are pretty.
In terms of reaction I'll still say that AoT has ths "worst recent shonen ending" crown but there's still plenty of time for Hori and Gege to catch up

Among other things, 237 & 238 made me want to write Yorozu domming Sukuna, so that's a plus, I guess. I do not understand why Gege killed a femme character and then gave a masc character the femme's fruit of hard labor TWICE.

So... Jujutsu Kaisen
I'm currently listening to random playlists on youtube and if that isn't a great start idk what is. (note the sarcasm) Grammarly is shouting at me and I'm ready to play with fire.
Jujutsu Kaisen is mid.
I don't hate the anime or manga, mind you. I actually really liked it in the beginning! But- then I started reading the manga because I am nothing if not impatient when I find something new that catches my attention and... Well it didn't meet expectations. What I was expecting wasn't what I got. Which isn't usually a bad thing; in this case sadly I couldn't help but feel let down.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!! I complain about the manga randomly so if you haven't read do not continue through this post!! <----------------------
My youtube playlist would never lie to me, okay? My late night vibe ain't vibing with Jujutsu Kaisen which I will affectionately name actionanimeangst#94 or A3#94. It starts out great. Concept: Interesting. Protagonist: Pink hair boyo gives you fuzzie flower reaction.
Tumblr media
There is this man who almost everyone either says "owuga owuga" or >:P. Either "Daddy Gojo-sensei!!" or "daddy gojo-sensei~~~~~~." Which fair valid, have a nice day. The mans funny and has nice eyes I'll give him that. But it makes me kinda feel that those were the main selling points? Weak, boring, missed opportunities, sadge.
The idea of curses is creative enough in this day and age where everything you thought or created has probably already been created before or similar enough to something else that it gets criticized ruthlessly.
Protag gets possessed by eating a crusty beet-looking finger with amazing nails after centuries which is not fair as my nails just break. Slay I guess. We got some cursed energy that powers up people giving them abilities to fight these negative nancys. Apparently, you can't defeat curses without cursed energy which is then proven to be FALSE when we are introduced to emo hitman- which settle down guys. I can already hear it; he fights with cursed weapons meaning he uses cursed energy >>>:((((
Simply hush, not only is that a huge plot hole in my eyes it is irrelevant because my point still stands that he himself doesn't have cursed energy and yet is able to go toe to toe with 28-year-old Casper the morally grey man child aka giga chad of all sorcerers (why is that so hard to spell.)
Protag has to have the Vingt des doigts de la main meal while Sasuke-look alike's dilf just exudes Saitama vibes and KOs the art class color wheel god. I see how it is. At least he has respawn mechanics and in round 2 he teaches the man how to create secondary colors. Too bad emo kid's middle school OC is physically allergic to the visible spectrum and combat logs only to reappear later in front of his son on a totally missed out "Luke I am your father" scene. He needs to keep his K/D ratio and decided it was a good idea to change careers from a hired gun to a kebab cook.
Back onto what I was saying, Protag possessed- and BOOM cursed energy acquired time to fight fire with fire which is what the plot basically is especially when you learn Dori-bro ain't exactly all that human and it related to curse-human people like what you would see on those pairings if they had kids posts. So like he's only like half a regular guy?? Or what?? Maybe I missed that part when I was speed-running the manga... hmmm...
Suskuna comes into the picture and apparently, that was one of his 20, count it, 20 fingers that apparently are spread across Japan because although he's the king of curses he never actually left the country to pursue his dreams of world domination because his parents wanted him to become a lawyer.
Protag, Side farming tools, and daddy Young Yoda person acquired!! Now have some cool fights and get slowly introduced to the plot that will become irrelevant after season 1 of the anime because Blindfold and pronouns gets trapped and everything goes to s c h i s t.
Blooming bromance relationship with misunderstood movie review ends, angst and dubstep ensue with many fights afterward that lead to n o t h i n g b u t f i l l e r.
But that's a little harsh, isn't it? There is some character development and new techniques learned. There are cute moments and since everyone wields literal cursed energy it's not really a big surprise when the story is also cursed at some points.
We get backstories, more elements added, new characters replacing old characters as well as Attack on Titan flashbacks (no I will never watch that show to completion because it kept killing all my favorite characters and I don't need any more of that.)
And the anime has some really well-animated scenes that are just to die for and ruin older animes for me ;-; As an artist, sometimes an amazing art style and good animation are what draws me in. That makes me very picky when it comes to manga and anime in general so I miss out on a lot. And unpopular opinion... I like the anime's art style better than the manga's which is actually rare.
If that didn't make much sense, which it shouldn't since I'm just letting my fingers type without thinking much about it, basically here's a summary that should be more... coherent.
Basically, what I expected to be the whole plot of the show isn't actually the plot because there is a greater overarching one! Which I didn't even bat an eye at in the beginning because not all stories are what they seem in the beginning. The characters weren't all black and white but actually very unstable in the brain which is always fun and they actually had personalities (even though some are basic the story makes it feel more natural or gives a reason to them instead of leaving them as is. You aren't meant to completely understand them because you simply aren't them. They aren't like us.) Which leads to a natural disconnect for most people.
I loved the different use of weapons! Nobara using a hammer and nails is so cool to me because it's so subtly eccentric to me. Out there in a completely different sense than literal curses. The main characters play off each other well and open many opportunities for ships to blossom. (No we will not mention more because that is a fire I am not willing to play with rn.)
The story has so much potential and I am sticking with it to see where it goes cuz I won't give up on it. But. And its a major but. Sometimes less is more. I believe for now until my mind is changed that some things were forcibly rushed causing a subtle domino effect to take place for me. The story itself feels rushed. Unnaturally so that I got whiplash from reading the manga which you can read at your own pace. There are choices that I would have delayed or changed completely. Characters I felt were either unnecessary or didn't live up to their full potential.
But please note that this is just my first impression of the series. I've read almost all the manga chapters that are currently out rn and nothing else. I haven't read any side bits or notes from the author or anything like that. I'm probably missing information that would change my opinion in the future, but that's exactly why I'm sticking with it. It might get better, I might start to understand more choices the author made. Mostly I watch anime and read manga for the worlds and not the main story. You could do so much with a world full of curses and world build to your heart's content with the excuse that it's just an au. Really stories are just what you make of them. The author doesn't choose how you perceive it. You do. And I choose to perceive an exciting world to dip my toes into and funny characters to mess with.
So for now, my opinion is that Jujutsu Kaisen isn't reaching its full potential thus leading it to be mid. But its not my creation and all I can do is be along for the ride :)
Anyways enough of that. This totally didn't take me like 2 hours to write pshhh what are you talking about? Now that that's out of my system and I've finished praising and critiquing A3#94 (no, I did not forget)
How would people react if I just... made an au on how I would have handled the story and characters? Its fine~ Its just an Au :). I might make the au, might not. Sounds like a lot of work and who knows if I'll attract some unwanted attention :/
Grammarly is furious with me but also telling me my tone is informative, assertive, optimistic, formal, and informal. At least it isn't the Duolingo owl :). With that thought, I'll probably revisit this in a different post in which I might give my updated opinion. For now though I leave you with one final message.
If you actually read through all of that you either have endless patience or run purely off of spite which fair valid, have a nice day.

JJK MEN reacting to you asking for love advice about someone else to them
Tumblr media Tumblr media
๑ featuring: Gojo Satoru, Geto Suguru, Kento Nanami, Choso Kamo, Toji Fushiguro and Ryomen Sukuna.
๑ content: Unrequited feelings (they like you in case it wasn't clear from the title), manipulation of feelings in certain parts, light angst. No fluff, I'm back to my era of pain (*evil laugh, the return* )
๑ a/n: Actually, there's nothing to say, I hope you enjoy it
Tumblr media
GOJO SATORU
"Well, if he doesn't notice how amazing you are, he's an idiot. But, you know, sometimes idiots need a little push. Maybe you should... show him."
As Satoru sat next to you, the woman he secretly loved, he struggled to maintain a relaxed facade, smiling as he took in your every word. Inside, however, your heart was beating wildly, yearning to be the man you sought advice from. Your every gesture and laugh only intensified his desire to be by your side, as he battled to hide his emotions and waited for you to realize the truth behind his rehearsed words and gestures.
GETO SUGURU
"Ah, you deserve someone who treats you like the queen you are. And if he can't see that, then rest assured he's not worthy of all your effort. But you know, there's someone out there who has always known your worth..."
Suguru, with his captivating smile and persuasive skills, listened attentively to your romantic dilemma, calculating each word in his mind as he weaved his suggestions with subtle persuasion. He highlighted the flaws of the man in question but discreetly praised your qualities, seeking to show his own interest deliberately. Behind his serene expression, Geto calculated every move in the hope that you would see in him not just an advisor but a potential lover, eager for the moment when you would recognize his true worth and choose to share your world with him.
KENTO NANAMI
"My suggestion would be to approach the situation calmly and rationally. Communicate your feelings in a clear and direct manner. After all, communication is the key to any relationship. If he is worthy of you, that will be enough."
While Nanami Kento listened attentively to your venting, he offered practical and direct advice, demonstrating his usual calm and clarity. However, internally, he grappled with his own unexpressed feelings, hiding his deep emotions behind a serious and professional facade. Every word of comfort he offered you was a painful reminder of his own unrequited desires.
Despite the intense internal struggle, Nanami continued to counsel you, keeping silent about his own pain. He wondered if he would ever overcome the fear of ruining your friendship by expressing his own feelings, remaining trapped in a cycle of anguish and doubt.
CHOSO KAMO
"I... know what it's like to feel that way. I think... maybe he just needs a little push to realize how special you are. If I were him, I wouldn't hesitate for a second..."
Choso couldn't hide his emotions, his gaze reflecting internal anguish as he listened to your love story. While offering advice, he was emotionally honest, sharing his thoughts and revealing the weight of his unrequited feelings. Choso saw in the situation an opportunity to perhaps get closer to you and show what he truly felt, longing for a deeper connection and hoping that his honesty would touch your heart, as he prepared to face any challenge to be by your side.
TOJI FUSHIGURO
"You're wasting your time with that idiot. Men like him will only make you suffer. If this guy is too blind to see how amazing you are, then you're better off moving on. But, of course, if you prefer to keep deluding yourself, I'm not the one to stop you. Just don't come crying later when things don't work out."
Toji, with his impatient posture and piercing gaze, doesn't hesitate to launch biting criticisms about the man in question while you vent to him. However, internally, he grapples with his own inability to express his feelings, using his rudeness as a shield to hide his vulnerability. While his sharp tongue continues to push away those around him, Toji yearns for an opportunity to truly connect with you, but fear of failure and rejection keeps him trapped in his role as a solitary tough guy.
RYOMEN SUKUNA
"Ah, so you've come to me seeking advice about that fool? Hmph, he's just another insignificant worm, don't waste your time with someone like him. You know, I'm not one to flatter, but you, you're too good for that piece of shit."
Sukuna, with his ironic smile and malicious eyes, absorbs every word that comes out of your mouth, carefully choosing each piece of advice to weave his manipulation web. His enigmatic words, full of double meanings, cast doubt on the man in question while subtly suggesting that he himself would be a better option for you. He delights in the control he exerts over the situation, using both you and the man as pawns in his power game, relishing the feeling of power it gives him, determined to achieve his own ends at any cost.

i’ve always liked how judgeman is depicted with its eyes stitched instead of the typical blindfold you see on lady justice. there’s something more severe, more committed, about it instead of a removable blindfold—as if justice is an integral part of its physical being as a shikigami, and not an extension, not something you can “take off.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(other than the fact that stitches just fit its uncanny appearance more, and because stitches are very symbolic in jjk, it would’ve also been redundant to give judgeman a blindfold, considering gojo himself is easily identifiable by his blindfold).
hiruguma himself has said it:
Tumblr media
equality before the law—that is the principle he was referring to here. no matter what, no matter who. then,
Tumblr media
how horrific must the revelation of sukuna’s crimes had been for judgeman to force a stitched-shut eye open. a guilt so heavy, it turned the scales upside down and left no room for impartiality.
i’ve always found it interesting that sukuna used to be human in his past life. a powerful sorcerer, but human nonetheless. and though he is a curse now, what differentiates him and the living sorcerers we see today? in fact, what differentiates curses and sorcerers? what happened to sukuna for him to turn out the way he did? what was his critical point, when he became “unsaveable,” and where was his point of no return?
Tumblr media
(also, when—if—higuruma dies, will he go with his eyes open? heart on his sleeve, raw, not yet atrophied?)

i never talk about him but i actually like toji a lot as a side character/antagonist. it’s endlessly funny to me that megumi is his son, his blessing, but they barely get anything outside their moment in shibuya and hidden inventory. then he’s just there for maki’s character development (truly the favored relative narratively) or thrown into a chapter randomly to look hot

Satoru Gojo
Gojo doesn't like leaving you home alone, not because he doesn't trust you but with the spike in crime he can't help but worry. He wanted to at least teach you the basics of self-defense, just in case. Unfortunately for you, he wasn't going easy. He had pinned you to the floor at least five times and he was a harsh critic. When the two of you finally took a water break, you could barely walk to grab your waterbottle.
"Come on, I've got you." He scoops you up into his arms, your body pressed against his toned chest.
Your face flushes when he sets you down, casually turning around to pick up his towel and wipe the slick sweat from his forehead. His back is covered in deep lines, muscles bulging when he stretches. You choke on your water, quickly wiping your mouth when he spins around.
"What? Like what you see?" He leans down, nose rubbing against yours. "Want to see it up close?"
Your breath hitches when he scoops you up again, hands planting on his strong shoulders. Your fingers trace the dents, lips pursed. A low chuckle vibrates his chest, your hand on his heart now. You knew he worked out, it's not like this is the first time you've seen him up close, it's just something about the way his sweat makes his body glisten that makes your heart race.
"You know you can see this any time, all you have to do is ask." He whispers in your ear, and you melt in his embrace.
Suguru Geto
Geto takes the longest showers. Your water bill is so high because he spends hours casually sitting in the tub with the water raining down on him, humming and brushing his hair. Sometimes you peek inside to make sure he hasn't drowned, only to end up gawking at his toned legs, rear, and bulky back. In his uniform, all of his strength is hidden- but when it's off he looks like a titan.
"Y/N, I know you're watching." He looks back with a teasing smile, "Come join me. The water's just fine, and I know you've been stressed."
You slip out of your clothes and hop in, giggling as he rubs soap on your skin and pecks your cheek. His hands massage your scalp when he washes your hair, a quiet song whispering from his lips. When you turn around to kiss him you stop, breath hitching when your eyes trail to his abs.
"Those are new." You mumble, cheeks warm.
"Hm, really? Maybe you just haven't been paying attention...what a shame."
You manage to convince him to take a shorter shower, drying off together before cuddling on the couch. Your head is buried in his neck, fingers tapping on his arms as they flex when he moves. You watch his muscles ripple, eyes widening as he laughs quietly.
"They're really not that impressive." He says casually, knowing damn well he's just being modest.
Ryomen Sukuna (True Form)
Four arms. Four big arms. You've seen him crush skulls with them, turning steel into pebbles, and you still can't believe they're around you right now. You try sitting still, not wanting to annoy your lord but your staring does. His stomach growls, tongue flicking out against your back and you squeal.
"Staring is rude, where are your manners, hm?" He tilts your chin up, a cocky smirk on his face when you mumble an apology. "Ask properly and I'll let you look."
"Kuna-"
"Now, now-" His fingers dig into your jaw, nails pricking your skin. "-Beg properly."
"Please, my lord." Damn those eyes and what they always manage to do to him. Of course you want to look, he is the great King of Curses, you should be fawning over him. "May I? Just this once?"
"I suppose." His chuckle is a low growl in his chest.
He lets you slide your fingers between his, grunting when you squeeze. Your grip isn't strong, it just wasn't what he expected. He watches you hold his hand up to your face, surprise flickering in his eyes when you nuzzle his knuckles. They're sharp, poking your cheek, but you don't mind. He's warmer than summer, light eyes smoldering when they meet yours.
"Someone's quite shameless today," He raises an eyebrow when you nod eagerly. "Is it that time of month?"
"What, no!" You pout when he smirks mischievously, "I just like being like this with you."
"Like what?"
"Close."
"Foolish." He grumbles, but the corners of his mouth twitch up.
Kamo Choso
He's so adorably oblivious to how handsome he is. When he catches you staring he asks if he has something on his face as he finishes cooking breakfast, shirtless in your kitchen and dark hair on his shoulders. You grin, walking over and squeezing his biceps. His eyebrows furrow and he flinches when your kiss his cheek. He's so easy to catch off guard, and he always gets so embarrassed when he is.
"It's too early for your teasing," he mumbles. He sets your plates down on the table, "You should eat before it gets cold."
"I'm already enjoying my meal." You tease, watching the muscles in his back move. Your cool hands make him shudder as they stroke his back, his face bright red when your hands move to his plump chest. He glares back at you, ears darkening to match his face.
He's a block of a man, wide in the best way. Even his thighs are muscular, peeking from his semi-baggy gray sweats. You laugh when he leans into your touch, kissing his nose and watching his lovemark bleed like it always does when he's flustered.
"You're playing with my body again." He hides his face in his hands, "Is it really that nice?"
"Very nice." You give his chest a few light taps, admiring them. "Guess Mahito had good taste."
Kento Nanami
Your husband always comes home tense and sore from sitting at his desk all day, so the least you can do is give him a massage. He's laid down under you, groaning as your skilled hands work magic against his muscles. Your face burns when his hazy eyes look up at you, a sheepish smile on his face. You work out a knot in the middle of his back, firm muscles meeting your palm as you press down.
"God, that's good..." He says in between quiet huffs.
"So I'm doing a good job?-"
"An amazing job, Honey." A lazy laugh leaves his lips when your hands reach his shoulders.
"Have these been giving you trouble again?" You lean down and kiss the nape of his neck, "Or have you been causing yourself trouble by overdoing it at the gym?"
"I've got to stay in shape, Darling."
"I like your current shape." Your hands add just enough pressure to massage the ache away, "I enjoy caring for it...and for you."
"I'm a lucky man." His body relaxes further as you continue easing away the tension.
FUSHIGURO TOJI
You're trying to work but your husband is being needy, hugging you from behind and burying his face in your hair. You sigh, squirming away but he pulls you back. You twist around ready to fuss but your mouth hangs open when his bare chest blocks your field of vision.
"Toji, put those away!" You squeal, face the same color as your ink pen. "I can't fool around right now!"
"Neither can I, I'm here to work out." He smirks when you sigh, "What? It's my office or whatever you call it too."
"Do you have to do it right..." Your sentence trails off as he starts doing push-ups, eyes stuck on those bulging arms, shoulders and pecs. "You're impossible."
"You like it, why else are you starin'?"
He has a point, you can't look away. He's just showing off now, switching to core workouts so you can watch his abs stretch and compress with his movements. You bite your lip while trying to return to your work but can't help but sneak glances at your bulky man. He strips down to his shorts, freeing his sculpted legs and you pinch the bridge of your nose.
"Ready to give in?" His voice is thick with confidence, because he knows you haven't made any progress on any of your tasks- all thanks to him.
