HCs about Tarre Vizsla are cool because we know virtually nothing about him except that he was taken from Mandalorian culture as a child, raised and trained as a Jedi (the people Mandalorians are convinced are their existential enemies) and then after being a fully-fledged, blooded and painted adult Jedi Knight, he showed up and became the Mand'alor. The leader of the entire Mandalorian people. Like, what??? the fuck ?? happened??? I know Mandalorian history is notoriously unstable (understatement of the century, moving on) but what kind of position do you have to be in to take a beloathed arch nemesis who nominally claims Mandalorian heritage as planetary leader? On the other hand, he could've just been so Fucking Chill that the Mandos were willing to overlook the glowing blade and the Temple affiliation and the force powers. Anyway I'm so intensely curious about him I love Tarre fics and hcs give me more, please,

Huyang is a Droid with a Name
It's said that he was built 25,000 years before we first see him on screen. That's reason enough to have a name and not a call sign, but what if there's another reason?
My theory is that Huyang is a type of holocron and his name comes from the Jedi Master who created him and poured all of his knowledge and experience into the kyber matrix at his core. Essentially, Huyang is the living memory of the original Jedi Master by the same name.
Holocrons themselves pre-date the Jedi according to some sources (an rpg book) but what if they weren't the first way that the Jedi tried to pass on their teachings through kyber? Perhaps in a time when Jedi were more rare, it was even more important to ensure the teching of the next generation and so infusing a droid mind with a heart of kyber and imbuing it with all of a Master's knowledge was the only way to guarantee that their teachings would not be lost.
The Jedi themselves do not concern themselves with immortality, so as holocron technology developed there became simpler ways to share teachings with future generations. The hand's on nature of lightsaber construction, however, would necessitate a physical form, meaning that Huyang remained a vital part of the order in fact as well as in philosophy.
If I'm right, then perhaps we will see the original flesh and blood Huyang in James Mangold's eventual film!
And if we're really lucky he'll be played by David Tennant!

@jedihlaalu and I wrote a fic! It’s got Jedi!Luthen, Padawan!Kleya, my Sith OC, Crotalus, and lots of snark! Fun times for all :)
Enjoy!
Summary: Disgraced Jedi Luthen Rael Aveross doesn’t have the best track record with padawans, but then again there’s never been a padawan who’s meant more to the galaxy than Kleya. For all he knew, they were the last of a dead kind. He’s got to make sure she’s prepared to survive everything the galaxy has to throw at her, and if that means giving her a real live Sith holocron to train with … well. So be it.
---
Kleya furrowed her brows, prying her attention away from the ancient tablet she’d been cleaning to open the package that Luthen had unceremoniously tossed at her. It felt … weird. Almost angry. “Luthen…”
He smirked over his container of Nabooan noodles. “Just open the damn thing and thank me later.”

Chapter XXV: "Falling" from Beneath the Armor, Volume I
Excerpt: "...she had wanted to return to Ilum and submerge herself in deep meditation as a way to search for clarity. [Talia] knew she would be subjecting herself to a Force-trial—anyone entering Ilum’s crystal caves would. But she had been so desperate for guidance and some kind of vision that she was willing to bear any test. And as she re-thinks this, she finds herself wondering what Vandar’s Force-trial will be like when it is his turn to claim a lightsaber crystal of his own. How can she prepare him for that? Her own Master had been so cryptic with his parting words before he watched her enter one of the crystal caves alone. Should she be the same with Vandar?"

The war doesn’t end with a bang, strictly speaking. It doesn’t even end with a political forum, or peace talks, or a slow, wheezing death of the Banking Clan’s pockets running dry, even though all of those are valid possibilities. Some more than others, Cody has to admit.
No, the war ends with an article in the Galaxy’s least reputable news source, Coruscant Rotational. Splashed on the front page for all to see is Cody’s little brother, next to the Chancellor.
CLONE MEWS CHANCELLOR TO DEATH IN MOGGING MOVE FOR THE AGES - LOOKSMAXXING TAKEN TOO FAR?
“What”, says Obi-Wan, eye twitching, fingers massaging over the bridge of his nose at double their usual speed, a real sign of an impending nervous breakdown if Cody’s ever seen one, “the kriff does that even mean?!”
Rex shrugs helplessly with one shoulder, other arm raised aimlessly. “No idea, General. I only understand about half those words. Maybe we’re all having a collective stroke? Maybe Fox is having a stroke? Whatever he’s doing with his jaw in that picture can’t be healthy.”
“Well, not for the late Chancellor, anyways”, says Cody flatly, in the long-suffering tone of one who’s seen too much Jedi banthashit in too little time. He screws his eyes tightly shut, scrubbing the backs of his knuckles in hard enough to see galaxies explode. Nope, still the same words on that datapad.
“It can’t be true”, says Skywalker, who’d gone white as a shitty military-issue sheet and has been steadily pacing the room ever since the equivalent of a sonic bomb hit the room. “I mean - think about it, this could just as well be a Separatist ploy, it would play right into their hands, and Coruscant Rotational isn’t exactly the most reputable source -“
“True enough”, says Obi-Wan, thoughtfully. “They do like getting their facts mixed up. In fact, I’ve seen about six articles just this month proclaiming our dear friend Senator Amidala’s super secret pregnancy. They even falsified hospital records, can you imagine?!”
Somehow, Skywalker loses another shade of colour, gulping soundlessly, and resumes his pacing more frenetically than before. Weird guy, that.
It’s Rex who breaks the awkward stillness of the room, perking up suddenly. “Oh, I know! Why don’t we call in Commander Tano?! She’s about the right age to understand some of this dribble, right?”
“I was going to suggest calling Corrie HQ, but sure, let’s ask the teenage soldier from the space monk order who spends all her spare time hunting your legion for sport”, says Cody, dryly. Rex deflates, and Thorn’s tinny voice sounds through Cody’s comm before he can make his reply. “Marshall Commander, I assume this is about the News.” Ominous capitalisation, ooooh, mouths Rex, and receives the nearest datapad Cody can reach to the face for his troubles with a squawk. The fact that he can read that sentence off his lips means their legions have spent far too much time together, and also that Cody’s grown soft in his old age.
“Good to hear you too, Thorn, and yes, we do have some questions concerning why the kriff my vod’ika is accused of murdering the chancellor through what I can only assume is some secret Sith magic?!”
“Oh, you mean when he defeated the actual Sith on the Senate through the power of his superior mog and made the kriffer explode in a thousand wrinkly pieces? You’re welcome, by the way”, says Thorn, instead of literally anything sane.
“Commander”, begs Cody’s General, with something glistening that might actually be tears in his eyes. “Commander, please. I do not understand any of those words. I am begging you to put me out of my misery.”
PALPATINE??? SITH?????!!!, screams Skywalker in battlesign, somehow spelling out each individual question and exclamation mark.
“It’s a game we’ve started playing in the Guard, sir, to pass time on patrol”, says Thorn, sheepishly, cowed by nearly driving the High General Kenobi to tears. “We’d do stupid faces we found the holonet, and, uh - well Fox is so high on black-market morphine most of the time cause we don’t get bacta that he sleepwalks on assignment sometimes, and, uh, he started making them at the Chancellor during a holocall meeting with Count Dooku and then the Chancellor tried to electrocute him again but accidentally blew himself up-“
“Breathe, Commander”, says Obi-Wan, and then - “That is SO much information I don’t know what to do with, Force preserve me. Why is Commander Fox on black-market morphine, or sleepwalking, or making faces at-“
“He signs reports in his sleep too, sometimes”, Thorn interrupts the General. “It’s actually kind of impressive if, y’know, it didn’t make Stabby bust another capillary in pure rage.”
“Who’s Stabby?”, asks Obi-Wan, confused.
“Meeting with Count Dooku?!”, bursts out Skywalker.
“Congratulations on Amidala’s pregnancy, General Skywalker”, says Thorn, like a man who wants to see the world burn.

I love reading dinluke fanfic but sometimes I am bitter about the disparity in treatment between Jedi and Mandalorian culture.
There is definitely a widespread anti-jedi attitude and for someone like me who loves dinluke and the jedi order it is a bit annoying😕

I always assumed the deal with Count Gora hating Dooku for being Force sensitive went back to the ancient Sith occupation of Serenno, his own house being tainted by association with the very people his family allegedly defeated.
But I was rereading the cursed book and the opening scene where Jenza is robbed, she's specifically going on about how she doesn't care about the money, but she really needs back this special crystal that belonged to her grandmother? And her mother is gonna kill her if she loses it?
How much funnier is it if Gora hated Force sensitives because of a very annoying ex-Jedi mother-in-law??

This promo is from 1992, and it first appeared in Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine #16 (as well as in probably other media as well). In its original printed format, it was reduced to black and white. I have restored it in this image to full color and in hi-res.

hihi, is it possible for me to ask for gwens characters with a curvy/chubby s/o ?
Thank you x
Gwen’s Characters with a Plus-Sized SO
Authors Note: As a plus size gal, YOU BET YOUR BOOTS I WILL WRITE THIS!!! Phasma and Brienne are written by @bri-sonat!!
Larissa Weems
This woman loves herself a plus-sized woman.
She profoundly appreciates a little extra to love and squeeze.
After a long day at work, Larissa loves laying between their legs with her head on their tummy.
She will ALWAYS have a hand on her SO’s thigh in the car.
She can’t cook for shit but she always has sweets that she will offer with the brightest smile.
Larissa becomes deeply invested in plus size fashion and finding them the best clothes to match her partner’s aesthetic.
She loves their hugs too as they always feel so warm and comforting.
In self-conscious moments for her partner, Larissa is always ready to lend a listening ear. This is always followed up by her partner being smothered in love for Rissa to share how much she loves every inch of her partner.
Miranda Hilmarson
She LOVES having her plus-size SO lying on top of her as they watch a movie.
Expect absentminded booty rubs as she watches the movie too.
Miranda and her SO always have the best snacks at all times
Days on the beach where she and her partner lay under an umbrella with Miranda’s head resting on their thigh
They can always expect Mir to nip and bite at their thighs when she has the opportunity
Miranda is a physical touch girlie so just expect wandering (and squeezing) hands at all times
Miranda is The Obsessive Loving Girlfriend™️ so her partner can expect her to be bragging about how beautiful they are all the time (no matter how often Robin tells her she knows already because “you have already told me a million times, Hilmarson”)
Brienne of Tarth
Are you kidding me? This woman loves thighs and boobs. She adores laying down next to her significant other after a long day and just keeping one of her hands on their thigh.
Considering she herself has been judged and ridiculed because of her appearance and body, she is quick to defend her partner against insults and comments.
Because of the previous - she also understands what it is like to not fit into society’s norms and what it is like to be stared at so she is incredibly empathetic on the rougher days.
During the colder nights after she has returned from patrol or her duties, she loves laying down next to her partner and feeling them snuggle up next to her, one arm and one leg draped over her.
The thick thighs also serve as a very comfortable pillow after intimate times… or during. Either way, Brienne loves feeling them next to her head as she services her partner.
When her partner is feeling insecure - she is quick to lend an ear and is more happy to do so. After a heartfelt talk, she kisses the back of their hand and then presses a kiss to their lips before offering to take them for a small walk. On that walk, she gifts her significant other picked wildflowers with a comment on how the flowers are equally as pretty and breathtaking as her partner.
Captain Phasma
Phasma does not care what the person’s body looks like. She may be an asshole, but she’s not fatphobic.
A big butt means more surface to slap and make red and she likes that very much.
Her significant other can expect Phasma’s hand on their ass during all their alone time because she will have her hand glued to it. Squeezing, caressing, slapping.
During intimate times she is also known to bite and kiss it.
The woman loves ass.
People are too scared to make comments on her partner’s body considering they’d face her wrath if they did.
She is also known to knead her partner’s breasts whenever they change or whenever they sit in front of her.
If her significant other is changing, she will walk up to her partner and grab both the boobs in her hands and squeeze them once or twice before planting a kiss on each of them.
If her partner is sitting in front of her, she is known to scooch closer and wrap her hands around her significant other’s waist and slide her hands inside their shirt and up to grab a handful of boobs. She loves it.
She also loves thighs. She loves sucking and biting them. She loves slapping them. She just loves thighs and the more thigh, the merrier. Same with ass and tits.
Lucifer Morningstar
This being’s mantra is ‘All Bodies Are Beautiful Bodies’
Don’t ask them to pick a favorite body part because they won’t be able to
They call their SO their ‘sweet cherub’ and they say it with the SOFTEST expression.
Will always pull their partner into their lap as they sit on their throne to coo and fawn over them
Luci always has a way of making their SO feel small and delicate
Death to those who refuse to appreciate their partner’s beauty
They have a very intentional and serious way of admiring their partner’s body
They have been accustomed to the harsh roughness of Hell so the sweet softness of their partner’s body is something they are quite infatuated with
Jane Murdstone
As being plus size isn’t necessarily accepted in her time, Jane is quick to shut down any gossip surrounding her partner’s size
She frequently writes poetry about the luscious beauty of her partner’s body
Jane appreciates thick thighs when giving head (we all know giving head is Jane’s #1 hobby).
Jane is the definition of a soft, obsessive sapphic poet so she will need to worship her partner’s body at LEAST twice a week.
She is delighted by her partner’s soft warm body during those chilly winter nights
She is always quick to compare her plus size SO after her favorite fruits: ‘soft peach’ or ‘little plum’.

Something I've never really understood is people comparing Star Trek and Star Wars. Not only because the genres are so different (sci-fi vs sci-fantasy) or the fundamental difference that is the absence of Earth entirely in the Star Wars universe (Star Trek is meant to be about a recognisable, if improbable, future, whereas Star Wars is a Space Opera a Long Time Ago and Far Far Away).
But the biggest difference I see is that the two are set in fundamentally different times.
Yes, yes, I know that's obvious. I literally just pointed out the 'Long Time Ago' bit, but bear with me.
Star Trek is set in a time where exploration is still the order of the day. The Alpha quadrant is still being explored, new species are still being discovered. The Beta and Gamma quadrants are the big new frontiers. The Delta Quadrant has one very hazily mapped squiggly line with a few gaps thanks to Voyager but even that small portion was chock full of New Things. The Galaxy is still divided and unknown with new stations and trade routes popping up all over the place.
Meanwhile Star Wars is old. Real old. By the time of the Clone Wars the Republic has gone through different eras. There was a golden age. It has come and gone already. Sure there are still the Unknown Regions but it is fairly fucking rare to come across a brand spanking new space-faring race or rival government. Coruscant as the heart of the Republic has not been outright attacked for a millennium by the time of the CW. The galaxy is such a hot mess of a melting pot that only the truly reserved and isolationist species are rare to see. Humans have been buggering about and propogating so much that now its impossible to tell where they actually all came from because Alderaan? Naboo? Corellia? All major human hubs, but you could say the same about dozens of other planets, and as far as anyone can tell, at least some of the near-human species are almost definitely genetically related to humans so there has clearly been enough time for some natural evolution after the space travel.
I just find it so interesting that people try to compare them when they are at fundamentally different stages of galactic development. Its like comparing the Wild West to the modern day. The galactic governmental structures and attitudes are so amazingly different and that is to the franchises' strengths.
Star Trek is about, at its most basic point, exploration.
Star Wars is about, again at its most basic, adventure.
Sounds similar? They are similar, but whereas in Star Trek the New Things are new, in Star Wars they're new to those characters, or at least new to the audience.
Kirk and Spock are exploring the unexplored.
Luke and Han and Leia are having adventures in an already clearly established society. They forging new paths in an already defined environment.
They're both also, coincidentally, fighting evil Space Fascists but that's just par for the course. I think something about space just Does That. The Void inspires assholes to go 'I can conquer those stars!' only for said stars to pull an uno reverse in the shape of a blond kid with little to no self-preservation skills but a knack for flying spaceships.
Something something space something something sci-fi.
TL:DR Star Wars and Star Trek are different on so many levels but the most interesting one is the fact they're represent galactic civilisation but at different stages. The 'fun, exploration, everything-is-new!' stage, and the 'established society including rampant corruption, unfortunately' stage.
I love 'em both.
