Imagine

You're walking home, or to work or school, or wherever- and you get caught in the rain. It starts to downpour. Like, big fat droplets of Gaia tears; Thick 'my son-husband has secretly hidden children within me causing a terrible migraine so welp; here baby Cronus, take this flint sickle and castrate brother-daddy' kinda rain. I'll stop with the Greek Mythology now, I'm sure you get it. Heavy rain.

You're getting soaked despite whatever you're using to protect your skin from it all (A binder, a bag, your jacket, a hat,.. an umbrella perhaps), your nose is cold, and you can barely see 10 feet in front of you apart from any street lights around, when-

A car pulls up directly next to you. You have the horrible panicked moment of 'am i going to be kidnapped today', before you recognise the car and the side door is thrown open in front of you.

Your F/O gestures and/or calls for you to get in. They knew you would be out at this time (They're familiar with your basic schedule ^^), saw the downpour and thought immediately 'Oh shit wait, Y/N's out in this'- and came right over to get you out of it.

What's their car like? Is it sleek and well taken car of? Is it a regular old thing? Does it look like its gonna break down any time now?

Do they have a blanket for you to throw over your legs? Or do they throw you their coat??~~~

Do they enforce seat belts? Are they gonna refuse to go if you just pull the blanket over your shoulders and 'forget' (Or genuinely forget) to buckle up or will they lean over and buckle you themselves?

Are they taking you to your destination or are they taking you to their house because you need a hot shower and to get warm or you're gonna catch a cold? Are they kind about it or bossy? XD

Will they stop by a drive thru to get you something to eat and/or drink? Maybe something lovely and hot?? Or are you two the crazy people who eat ice cream when its cold 'cuz it wont melt'?

Possibly most importantly; Is their any chance that your F/O would kick you back out into the rain for any reason? XD

-->Anyway, with the rush over, I decided that I wanted Alice to make a pizza in her new pizza oven, so I had her check out her options, then prep some veggies and make some cheese in order to get a garden pizza going. Victor and Smiler kept working the sales floor, chatting to customers and leading to a few more sales – a guy named Umber snagged one of Victor’s Energizing scents for $744, while Brytani deigned to buy some watermelon conserve for $171 (I made sure Victor rung her up, since Smiler doesn’t like her for some reason). Cameron Fletcher also came by to grab a $2 spinach – I’m glad he’s not too annoyed that I banned him from the break room microwave. XD Alice wandered back upstairs while waiting on the stand mixer to clean one of the displays (which WERE getting a bit manky) – I promptly sent her back downstairs to collect her prepped vegetables and get the pizza in the oven while I had Victor finish the cleaning magically and conjure up some spaghetti for himself. Smiler meanwhile got another sale – someone named Anaya buying a box of veggie MREs for $241. For five seconds, everything seemed to be going well –

-->BOOM ANOTHER MASS BUYING EVENT! Complete with lag, because you gotta have lag. *heavy sigh* I had Alice stay downstairs long enough to get her pizza (as it was almost done by the time everyone decided they wanted to buy something), but after that, it was all hands on deck to take care of customers! Fortunately, they got them all – Paolo with a cube of beeswax for $18; Tetsuya with a box of canned fishcakes for $413; Dali with a box of chocolate syrup jars for $413; Jeb and Osuma both with friendly animal treats for $17 each. Oh, and a guy named Chad grabbed a strawberry out of the produce fridges for $19. Whew! I put Victor on "removing all of the out-of-stock signs" duty afterward while Smiler cleaned up some stray plates and glasses that had ended up on the produce stands (the custom “farmer’s market”-style ones I got from Brazen have slots on the little shelf underneath, it appears – perfect for Sims to hide shit from you) and Alice made a clay bunny. As you do. Alice then used the toilet and ate a container of prepped veggies over the bathroom sinks (I forgot you could just eat prepped ingredients straight-up) before running off to shower in the rain. *shakes fist* ERRATIC SIMS! While she was busy causing newcomers to the lot to gasp, Victor and Smiler handled what I decided would be the last sales of the day – Ivana with a box of canned tomato sauce for $413, and Francine with a pumpkin animal treat for $46. There was another lady wanting to buy something, but for some reason Smiler kept insisting they couldn’t get to her, so before things got any more chaotic, I decided to have them close the store. All in all, they sold 18 total items for a profit of $3,729! Not bad for a day’s work!

-->Except – when Smiler closed up shop, three people stayed behind, the previously-stuck lady and two others, all with shopping carts over their heads. Puzzled, I had Smiler and Alice (back in her clothes) ring up the two that could be reached (Victor heading back into the break room for another nap) while I let the “stuck” one time out – this did NOT result in any post-closing sales, though, just some customer goodwill. Well, for everyone except the customer who was mysteriously blocked. Sorry, lady, not sure what happened there! Try again next time!

-->Anyway – with that sorted, the trio decamped to the break room to watch a bit of TV and do a bit of flirting, as they do. :) Once the last customer had FINALLY left the store, they headed back to their place, arriving back home at about 9 PM in-game –

@ticklinglady : Are you sure you want Tachihara to stay in the mafia? Like, yeah, I'm asking this not because I personally care about the fact that these guys are organised criminals or anything like that ahdjgjgk. I'm asking this because of the fact that Mori made Tachihara's brother go through literal torture during the war to the point of the poor guy becoming so broken that he preferred suicide over the chance to eventually return to his beloved family. That guy was the only person out of Tachihara's shitty background to genuinely care and love him, so I personally don't think it's going to be fair for Tachihara to end up working for the man, who murdered him

(Hi there!) Sorry this took me a while to answer but, once again, life.

As for wanting Tachi to stay in the mafia...I don't thiiiiink I specified actively wanting him to stay in that organisation, but I might have really just forgotten my tag rambles or not.

But to answer your question, I don't really mind either.

I see it this way, for starters.

BSD seems to have an ongoing theme of....stagnation. There is character development and progression, of course there is, but at the same time, it sometimes seems like the characters aren't moving forward. I think Kyouka and Lucy (and Dazai and Odasaku and Yosano, to an extent) are the only ones who have "moved on," so to speak. That is to say, pulled themselves out of their emotional turmoil, resolved it, and physically acted upon their restitution. But for a lot of the characters, they still seem emotionally and/or physically "stuck" in the same place they were in the past (Atsushi still believing his only worth is in to save people, most of the mafia people (though you could claim Chuuya had more of a corruption arc than restoration arc), Dazai still suicidal and a bit untethered, Kunikida and his ideals, so forth). But again, they do develop (Atsushi finding his family, the mafia characters being revealed as more human, Dazai leaving the PM was pretty significant, Kunikida HAS softened, I believe).

Tachihara had a somewhat significant arc in learning to see past his, well, past and accepting his place in the mafia that led him to believe in the ADA. He took a step forward, and learning how involved Mori was in his brother's suffering could either reel him way back in to his indecision (because he HAD made a family with the Black Lizards) or push him into more character development as he contemplates his own morality against his "orders are absolute" mentality.

It could be that he, in the end, decides that the human aspect is worth giving up his conflicted feelings over Mori given how long ago it happened (he sort of did that with Yosano). Or it could be that he simply just leaves the mafia because he can't bear the thought of it. Like, yeah, I'd feel terrible if Tachi decides to stay right where he was introduced into, but it sure would make my mind rotate him like a rotisserie chicken so much more. And if he decided to leave, taking revenge or not, I am very very curious to see what road Asagiri will take for our boy

For me it was mostly a long work day (also the reason I didn't really participate in the trick or treat game going around, I was just feeling busy and exhausted😭 it was very cute to see though! Mayyybe going to give it a few tries since it is still Halloween in some parts of the world)

The most Halloween-like thing I probably did this year - albeit unintentionally - was getting a new f/o who fits right in with the whole haunted aesthetic, and consecutively I ended up treating myself with some merch of him💕

I'm not sure what post you saw, I probably forgot to delete one of my personal posts, I'm sorry ;////; I really hope things get better too, it's been a long series of ups and downs and just yesterday, we received really bad news. Amidst everything else going on, my mom was diagnosed with Uterine (Endometrial) cancer. Meh. We're just staying positive. -->With coop and shed clean, Alice wandered back to chat with the chickens for a little while and collect the eggs (in between giving herself more pep talks, because that sad moodlet from earlier was really sticking -- on the other hand, she got cake for breakfast, so that had to have helped in the "happiness" department), while Smiler successfully entertained Moory and got some milk for the fridge. Victor, for his part, continued his tending and harvesting of the greenhouse -- hampered slightly by the fact that Bugs and Elmer, now on low battery, had decided it was their duty to float off around the lot and hide from me. *sigh* Elmer I fortunately found pretty quickly as he passed by the greenhouse searching for more plants to tend, and got Victor to shut him off, but Bugs proved to be harder to find...

-->But while looking for that darn bot, I happened to spot a familiar face in the front yard -- one Brian Pimentel, NAP Inspector! Making note of a bunch of recyclables the gang had left in the front yard during an earlier attempt to clear out the garbage. ^^; I quickly had Victor go recycle that and some other trash while Brian went around the house to check on the greenhouse -- and, to my delight, Bugs appeared, "chasing" the guy there! I kept an eye on him while Brian finished his inspection -- fortunately, despite the mess in the front yard, the gang got another passing grade. Even more fortunately, he wasn't at all tempted by Toothy's cake tongue when he left the lot. XD I had Victor finish up his recycling, then go and turn off Bugs before the bot exploded before harvesting his now-fully-grown oversized crops. Whew -- disaster averted!

-->While that was going on, I had Alice refill the pet bowls so a hungry Surprise could get her lunch, then give some meat to Toothy so they didn't try to snap up any passing Sims. She then fixed up a broken water collector while Smiler (somewhat glitchily) hatched the latest chick out of the coop, and Victor claimed the last slice of cake in the fridge as his lunch. I mean, after all that tending and harvesting, sir, I think you deserve it! He wandered over Alice's way for a chat while Smiler celebrated the birth of a new chick with a dance...
