Because im predictable, gray/juvia: "I wanna waste all of my time with you.” 🥺
Merry Christmas Shore! I am very grateful that I somehow made it into your circle of 5 fairy tail fandom friends!! I really admire your art and the speed at which you create, i love that we have the same brain when it comes to shipping and just your general love for Juvia. I promised something fluffy for christmas to offset all the angst, but I'm not sure about the quality of what I wrote. I hope you enjoy it anyway <3

Gray x Juvia
Post Alvarez lol i mean.
__
“I’m going to buy a drink.” Gray pushed himself out of the seat he had been sitting in for what was the better part of the day. His limbs felt numb and every bone in his body hurt so much that he wasn’t sure if stretching them out even helped. He’d been perched up on that wooden bench so long that he never wanted to go back there again ever, even though he knew he had to.
Juvia gave him a nod and said nothing, which he took as her not wanting one herself. She’d gotten very quiet in the last hour. Also another reason he needed a drink: When Juvia gave up her always cheery attitude in favour of being sombre something was usually very wrong.
The first beer that was handed to him Gray downed in one go without taking a breath and then he ordered the next one immediately and watched the baffled barman fill his glass again. Then he walked back to the table, frowning at the look of the bench he had to force himself onto again.
They’d been out on this job for three days. A wizard who was rumoured to have stolen some valuable diamonds was supposed to come by this bar or sell here and the mission giver had tasked them to sit there and wait for the guy to come by. Gray had asked Juvia to join, because he didn’t think that making conversation with Erza or Natsu during a full day was a bearable idea. Juvia on the other hand was pleasant to be around.
They had spent their days sitting in the back of that bar, the cheapest seats at the very back where it was mostly dark, waiting for a guy to appear that never appeared. Each night Gray had to watch the tenants of the pub get drunk without being allowed to drink himself. After all, alcohol and fighting didn’t match well - unless you were Cana, but she had incredible resistance anyway.
Gray sat back down in the damned place and he had half the second drink down right away. “If the guy doesn’t show up tonight,” he said, “we will go back.” Abandoning jobs was not his style, but wasting his time wasn’t his style either.
“What about the master?” Juvia asked and circled the table with her pointer finger. She looked dejected in a way that Gray hated, as if she was personally responsible for the misery of the last three days.
He emptied his glass. “Don’t mind him.” Gray shrugged. “I’d rather not get paid than be here for another 12 hours in this dark and uncomfortable and boring place.”
“I’m sorry, Gray-sama,” Juvia put the ends of her fingers together, “Juvia wishes she were better company.”
“What do you mean by that?” Gray waved to one of the staff to refill his drink and they did.
Juvia looked from the alcohol back to him. “Juvia is boring Gray-sama. That is why Gray-sama is annoyed.”
“It’s the guy that refuses to show up that annoys me,” Gray says decidedly. “You’ve not done anything wrong.” He tapped his finger in irritation and then sipped his beer again.
“But if Juvia were better company…” she murmured, “..maybe Gray-sama would be happier. Gray-sama asked Juvia to come along and now she is of no help.”
He let out an irritated grunt. “Nonsense,” he said and shook his head. “I don’t know how you always come up with this stuff.” There was already a considerable warmth in his chest and probably on his cheeks too. Surely the alcohol was getting to him. He downed the next drink.
Juvia looked at him as if she was trying to find words to say. The way she looked when she looked away from him, when she tried to do stay away from him if he was moody or angry, when she had somehow gotten it into her head that she was doing something that was wrong, he hated that look on her face. Juvia was the best when she was happy, when she was enthusiastic and a little weird.
“Don’t make that face,” he said and put his head onto his flat hand to keep it upright. “I asked you to come, didn't I? If I were bothered by your presence I wouldn’t have asked you.”
She opened her mouth, but he cut her off. “Seriously, it’s pleasant to have you around, you have a nice- “ he gestured a little with his hand - “..everything.”
Juvia blushed, which somehow made the warmth at his core worse, so he waved for another drink. He already felt a little confused in his mind, like it was slightly clouded over, but drinking helped with the frustration of the day.
Apparently having found her usual stride again with what he said Juvia moved closer to him and picked one of the strands of his hair away from the beer: “Why exactly does Gray-sama like hanging out with Juvia?”
Gray briefly closed his eyes and moved his head sideways into her hand so he could breathe in a little of the smell of the hand soap she was always using. He’d noticed it long ago, but he’d never been close enough to soak it in like now.
“You smell nice,” he said and by the way her fingers jumped away from his hair he could tell that his answer surprised her. He made a frowny face and reached for her hand again to put it into his hair. “I like when you do that too.” He looked at her and though she was slightly foggy, he could make out the red cheeks.
“You are always happy and positive and smiling - I like when you smile. Your powers are so compatible with mine so I like doing jobs with you and I enjoy every conversation we have with one another. “ He weighed his head. “But I also enjoy just being quiet around you. It’s pleasant to have you near me no matter what.”
He reached for one of the strands of her hair and turned it around his finger. “Gray…sama…” Juvia murmured in reply as if she didn’t quite know what to say to that onslaught of compliments.
His eyes shot up: “That I hate,l though.” Juvia blinked and he waved with his hand. “I don’t like how you are so formal with me. We’ve known each other for ages, hell, you’ve died for me, you should stop addressing me like I am a prince of some kind.”
“Well then, what if I call you dear then?” she asked slowly.
Gray grabbed the beer in front of him and drank half of it. Through his foggy mind the answer came much easier than it would have if he hadn’t been drinking. “Sure..” he said but didn't look at her. “Whatever you want.” His insides felt strange at this admission. He finished the glass for good measure.
Juvia let out a squeal and then, as if to test the waters, she leaned forward to his ear and slowly said: “Don’t you think that is enough drinks, my dear?”
It was like a magic spell had been cast. From where her breath had touched his ear goosebumps spread all through his body to the tips of his toes. He hadn’t experienced this since the last time he had been actually cold, which happened so very rarely that he couldn’t even recall when that was. But here she had done that to him, just with one word alone.
He buried his head forward into his arms, combatting the spinning of his head by having his eyes closed. Gray let go of the strand of hair he’d been holding and instead ran a hand through his hair to regain composure, but then he found her fingers already there. He’d forgotten he had put her hand into his hair in the first place.
“Dangerous..” Gray murmured and pulled away from her fingers. “You are a dangerous woman.”
Juvia leaned closer to him again. “Why? Do you not like it, my dear?” She made sure to make the last syllables very clear again. She stopped moving through his hair.
“No.” Gray said, decidedly and then slightly shook his head to invite her to continue what she’d been doing. “No.. it’s not.. Like that..” He didn’t know how to explain what confused him so much, so he just grunted in frustration and gave up. He buried his head deeper into his arms.
“Juvia thinks you had too much to drink, dear,” Juvia giggled and combed through his hair. “Maybe it’s time to leave.”
Somewhere beyond the fog, Gray knew she was right, but he found himself entirely unable to move. Too tired and comfortable with her body close, her smell in his nose and her hand in his hair. So he decided to pretend he’d fallen asleep, just to enjoy it all a little longer.

Gruvia Week 2024
Day 1 - Laughter
Life was good. Everything had fallen into place. The tumultuous past they had both endured was starting to fade into the gray. Hand in hand, they would proudly enter the double doors of their chaotic guild. Gray would always take a deep breath, the aroma of alcohol and fire seeping into his nostrils. His beloved wife would always notice and squeeze his hand reassuringly, and with the cheery tone she always expressed, she would say, “Welcome home, Gray-sama”
Home. This was always a foreign word to Gray. When Fairy Tail took him in, he was given the opportunity to create his future, with the support and love of his comrades. But there was always a part of him that felt empty and incomplete. He didn’t pay attention to it, though. Why would he? The trauma was etched deeply into the darkest depths of his soul, he wouldn’t dare to rip it out of him, and confront it.
But the world knew… he knew.. that he couldn’t run away from it for much longer. What he didn’t know was that he wasn’t facing it alone. Juvia Lockser, the water woman, shook him to his very core. His aspirations, his morals, his ‘destiny’ were shifted by the hands of her, and ONLY her. She terrified him. All these years, he was adamant on his short-lived purpose, because surely, his sacrifice would keep the people he loved most safe. But Juvia didn’t flinch for a second, not a goddamn second. She welcomed his darkness with open arms, aware of the scars she would endure, physically and mentally. But she always did it with a smile.
Her smile was probably the deadliest of all. How could a woman love a broken man so much, a man who didn’t think he had the capacity to love? The defense mechanisms that served him for most of his life, crumbled instantly the moment he cried in her arms. His vulnerability had never felt more relieved, when her warmth enveloped him. It was then, he knew, that she was his home.
With a renewed sense of purpose, he was going to give his everything to her, to try to compensate for all the pain he had her endure. But he couldn’t compete with her addictive laughter, showering him with affection. In their most heated nights of passion, she would giggle softly as he slowly stripped off their garments. He would always stop midway, mercilessly beat himself internally, staring at the scar that they had simultaneously inflicted on each other. But Juvia would always cup his face in her hands, averting his gaze from the horrible memory, even though to Juvia, it was her one of their favorites.
“You could never hurt Juvia…” She would whisper softly. His face would soften and he’d mutter her name with devotion before kissing her scar tenderly. His heart would race, hearing her breath hitch whenever his tongue grazed the sensitive areas but he treated and worshiped her body with care.
The nightmares didn’t magically disappear, but she would always be there at his bedside, ready to cuddle him back to sleep at a moment's notice. Although, he’s gotten better at managing them, resorting back to the dream of him and her gathering around the dinner table with the relatives he’d lost. Their words were inaudible most of the time, as if he were in a silent film, but he could always pick out Juvia’s laughter, the way her eyes smiled when she batted her eyelashes. It was the safe haven that got him through the darkest of days.
Her laugh brought him happiness. It was as simple as that, and poor Gray couldn’t fathom why it did. He’d never be the perfect man for her, no matter how relentless she was at convincing him otherwise. He’d spend his entire lifetime to become even worthy of her love, but that was okay. He loved the challenge, and most importantly, he loved her.
With a smirk tugging at his lips, he turned to face Juvia whose eyes had nothing but devotion and happiness for the love of her life. His heart swelled as he placed a tender kiss on her forehead, eliciting that same soft laughter he couldn’t get enough of.
“I’m home, Juvia….”

Gruvia Week
Day 1 - Laughter
The sight of Natsu flying over the guildhall was the first thing Juvia came across as soon as she entered Fairy tail that morning. Following that scene, her eyes focused on a very angry Lucy, tears popping out in the corner of her eyes. Her cheeks were red and her hair all messed up. From those few elements, Juvia concluded two things:
Natsu had just been Lucy-kicked.
This would be like any other day at the guild.
She walked to the bar, jumping over her friend’s body on the way, and said hello to MIra. While she waited for her breakfast, the missing pieces of the puzzle started falling into place.
“Yo, Luce, I was just playing along!”
“You cheated!”
“No, I didn’t!
As the pair bickered, Juvia grabbed her plate and approached the table where her Gray-sama was seated. He noticed her and scooted over, making space so she could sit.
“Good morning, Gray-sama!”
“Hey, Juvia.” He smiled. Before she could ask him if he had slept well that night and if he would like to take a job later, Natsu ran to them.
“Juvia, Ice prick, help me out!”
“Lucy’s right, you know. Tickling is against the rules.” Gray answered without hesitating.
That comment didn’t settle the debate as the fire mage alleged Gray was biased. He turned to Juvia and demanded her input as well. The problem was, Juvia didn’t know what game they were playing.
As if on cue, Cana appeared behind her.
“We were seeing who could keep a straight face the longest while the others try making them laugh. Lucy was doing good, considering Natsu’s face is kinda funny to stare at, but he broke the rules and tickled her. That Lucy kick was totally earned.”
“Oh.” Juvia understood what was going on now. “Well, Lucy-san is right.”
With everyone against him, the poor fire mage had no choice but to accept his defeat. He sat cross-legged and held the most dramatic pout until the group decided that it was Gray’s turn with the challenge.
“Ready?” Cana asked with a wicked grin.
“Write my words, I’m gonna make the highest score. You guys aren’t funny enough to beat my poker face.”
3...2...1...
Natsu and Lucy stood close to him, their faces contorted in the most creative and weird ways asGray stared blankly into the wall. He’d be a fool if he didn’t use his best tactic for when he needed to forget there were people around him: dissociating.
“Yo, can he do that? I’m pretty sure that is against the rules.”
“It’s not my fault that you don’t use your brain, Natsu.”
“You know what? I’m done. I’m gonna fart on your face and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.”
With that, Natsu got up and got into position, turning his butt right to Gray’s nose. Juvia - who had been just observing the mess until that point - got up with determination. She couldn’t let that happen to her darling! With determination and a feral look, she got on her feet and shoved Natsu to the side.
“Juvia will never allow anyone to fart on Gray-sama’s precious face!”
They all looked at her for a moment, in a deafening silence. Juvia kept her defensive pose in front of her beloved, like a knight in shining armor ready to save his damsel in distress. Lucy was still incredulous, Cana had tears in her eyes from holding her laugh and Natsu… well Natsu had been pushed with so much force that he had been knocked down for the second time on that day. However, the first audible reaction was a strangled wheeze from behind Juvia. She turned around to see her beloved with teary eyes almost popping out from the face, cheeks red and mouth in a thin line.
“Gray-sama, are you alright?” She hurried to his feet to check what was wrong with him.
That set him off.
Gray scrunched over himself, holding his stomach while he laughed loudly. With that, Lucy and Cana followed suit. Juvia looked around, not understanding what was so funny.
“Sometimes I can’t believe you’re real, Juv!” Cana wrapped one arm around her and kissed her cheek. “Fireboy and watergirl totally finished you, Gray! And the funniest part is, your score was the lowest. Lucy, me and you have a tie for first place! That calls for a victors kiss, don’t you think?”
As Cana playfully tried to get a peck from a still cackling Lucy, Juvia started to wonder if she said something wrong. Inadequacy, missing social cues… this was no news for the water mage. Of course, her friends never judged her, they knew there was always a good intention behind it. However, sometimes it felt like everyone was playing a game so complicated no matter how hard she studied the rules, her pawn was always ten spaces behind.
“Perhaps Natsu-san was being sarcastic?” Juvia muttered to herself.
“Definitely not.” She jumped in her place, feeling a warm hand on her back. “And let me tell you, if that bastard farted right on my nose, I’d have freezed his butt and ended the game right there.”
“Juvia feels sorry for making her beloved lose…”
“Not worried at all. Sure, I’ll have to live for a while with that shameful last place haunting me, but this?” He pointed at Natsu, who was starting to regain consciousness. “Priceless.”
“Ah…” This still didn’t settle her discomfort and he noticed it.
“Look at me, Juvia.” Gray took her hand, waiting until she glanced at him to keep talking. “Don’t worry about it, okay? We weren’t laughing at your expense, especially not me. I like your unusual way of speaking. Actually, that’s one of the most lovable things about you.”
Juvia felt so overwhelmed from the touch of his hand and the reassurance his words brought that it took her a long moment to absorb his last sentence.
One of the most lovable things about you.
Most lovable. You.
Did he really mean that? There were many things he found lovable about her? Also, using the words love and you in the same sentence... She suddenly felt like fainting and that was when Gray noticed the implications of what he said.
Oh.
They weren’t dating. Heck, they didn’t even kiss! Well, he was pretty sure she noticed the change in his demeanor towards her and her display of affection, but he didn’t exactly do anything significant of changing their status from friends to… whatever came after that.
“Uh, I mean…” Gray felt heat in his cheeks as he tried to think of something to say.
A freshly recovered Natsu came to rescue.
“Juvia! Your turn!” He called and made her sit, completely oblivious to the situation he interrupted. Juvia was still a bit airy and her magic almost made Natsu’s hand go right through her at one specific moment, but this distraction seemed to be good for their recovery.
“You have one minute to prepare.” Lucy warned, already setting her counter.
Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and tried to numb her thoughts. She was a competitive girl, actually, and she had an idea of what she could do to help her.
3…2…1…
“Start!”
With a total of five minutes and twenty four seconds, Juvia achieved first place. Everyone was surprised, after all, Juvia felt everything with such intensity they thought it would be easy to get a giggle out of her. However, they weren’t counting that she had a more powerful tool: her mind.
No, she didn’t need to dissociate or think of sad things. The only thing she needed to do was, for five minutes and twenty four seconds, think and act like she was a stone-faced person who thought everything was sad and dull. Her subject of  study? Not Gajeel, not Laxus.
Her old self.
-x-
Later that day, Juvia cornered Gray to reclaim her prize. According to her, it was fair that the last place would be the one to give it to her. He didn’t give much thought into it, asking what she wanted from him.
A wide grin creeped through her face as she proclaimed:
“Tell Juvia everything Gray-sama finds lovable about her.”

Fairy Tail Incorrect Quotes - Aged-Up Gruvia Edition!
Gray: JUVIA!
Juvia: What is it?? What's wrong, my love???
Gray: *points at forehead* Look at this!
Juvia: ...
Gray: ...
Juvia: Juvia is confused...Gray-sama's forehead looks as glorious as ever, so why--?
Gray: No, it does not! Look closer!
Juvia: *squints*
Gray: My damn hair's thinning!
Juvia: *relaxes* Gray, my love, please don't scare Juvia like that! We were bound to start showing signs of our age at some point. Even if every hair falls out of Gray-sama's head...if his skin turns to one big, gray wrinkle...and even if Juvia must change his diapers--
Gray: WHAT?!
Juvia: --she will still think Gray-sama is the most handsome, sexy man alive! Besides, these days, Juvia thinks Gray-sama looks more and more like Silver-sama. What woman could complain about that? Certainly not Juvia.
Gray:...
Gray: Whoa, wait, hold up! What'd you just say?
Juvia: hmm?
Gray: Juvia...did you have the hots for my freaking dad?!
Juvia, blushing: H-huh? Gray-sama...don't be ridiculous. Juvia only saw Silver-sama that once...although, it was long enough to realize that he looked like Gray-sama, but more mature, and distinguished...really, it was a glimpse of what Gray-sama would look like when he and Juvia were married and had 33 babies together--
Gray: UNBELIEVABLE!!

Birthday :Laughter
It was just exactly what his fantasy was like when he fought the snow woman. Gray remembered that vanity space of juvia and the book shelf near his nightstand. Photos hung above the bed. Even though it was different.
There wasn’t ur or ultear or his father but they were replaced with the living. There were his and juvia wedding pictures, juvia and their children, lyon and meredy and their children and lastly the fairy tail guild and friends hung on across the walls.
it was his birthday today. How much life and years went by. He was going to turn another year older than last year. Gray chuckled a bit that he was sounding like an old man.
The thick wooden door. Until he heard some click noise as the door slowly opened . The sight of juvia opening the door. she had a golden smile as her eyelashes slowly opened to see. Then her eyes came to a surprise. She spoke very softly “oh gray sama, did I awaken you”?
Gray shook his head and said I was awake five minutes ago. He was getting ready to get out of bed. Juvia quickly hug him and said happy birthday darling as she whispered into his ear. Gray felt his heart just skip and smile. He felt more content with his life as he pulled juvia into a gentle kiss and said thank you.
Juvia said gray sama after breakfast. Our friends are planning to celebrate your birthday this afternoon with the guild. Gray smiled said okay. Then he heard two stomping and giggling sounds behind the door. Gray and juvia smiled at each other knowing what's going to come.
two children busted through the door of their bedroom. One was just exactly a copy edolas Greige which it was ordained, that his name is greige. Then the small one was like a mini juvia named Mika. they both came running to jump on gray yelling happy birthday daddy!!! These children were excited or maybe they were more excited to have cake for breakfast as he chuckled a bit.
He said thank you kids as he hugged them back.
He finally got out of bed. Then he proceeded to follow along their children down the hall. Their children ran toward Meredy and Lyon kids. Juvia was walking beside him until the wide space of the house. Gray sees Lyon placing a banner across the wall. Meredy was in the kitchen bringing out the plates and cups.
Lyon laughed and said man I thought you're going to sleep all day as he saw gray. Gray felt a nerve struck just hearing him. While Juvia could only smile as she sneaked away toward meredy. Lyon stopped what he was doing. He walked toward Gray to give him a hug. Lyon said happy birthday like an older brother.
Meredy came out of the kitchen and wished Gray a happy birthday as she helped Juvia take out the food from the stove and oven. They placed them on the table. their children could smell the aroma. Lyon and Meredy have two children. The oldest daughter is named ul and the youngest son rybon. Gray and Lyon called everyone to come to sit down.
The children placed a party hat on their head. then kids reached noise blowers. They made sounds every chance they got. Meredy and juvia sat down.
They began to eat Lyon and gray converse on a topic. Meredy spoke to juvia about the concern of control magic toward their kids. the kids spoke about “ what would they play next after eating some cake. Gray saw the people around him. His thought “ It wasn’t exactly the dream he had but it was damn close.
Juvia brought out the chocolate strawberry cake. They sang a song and he looked at juvia laughter and cheerfulness. He couldn't contain his laughter as they celebrated his birthday. It wasn’t the people he wished had been here but the people who were present. It is ..truly a wonderful gift.

Gruvia Week 2024:
Day 1: Laughter.
type: soft/comfort, warm, fluff, attempt at humor.
characters: Gray and Juvia, a slight mention of Cana, Gildarts and Macao, and little bit of levy.
this fic is also posted in AO3
Gray likes to joke around, he loves to tease his friends most of the time by cracking jokes or using his sarcastic humour, he doesn't want to admit and say that his jokes are better than Natsu, but judging by the reactions of their guildmates, he could admit just a tiny bit that his humour is better.
And Gray is not boosting himself up, this is coming from an objective perspective not his, because in the end of the day Gray doesn't care if he makes his friends laugh or not, if he finds the situation funny, he'll just use it as an opportunity to crack himself up or to humiliate Natsu, which works everytime.
does he enjoy making his friends laugh? no, not really, or maybe? he doesn't know but he doesn't make an effort to spark the joy around them, that's not his thing it's usually Lucy's.
However, there is an exception where he drops the cold and serious demeanor and tries to elevate the mood.
Juvia is the exception and while he yet does not realise the reason why he tries to goof around her more than usual, he just focuses on that bright smile that appears on her face.
but that realization hit him today and it was quite a hit.
they were on their usual morning routine in the Guild main room, everyone was minding their own business, an unusual and rare moment ( because Natsu and Gajeel aren't around), but Gray would take it any day than losing his cool and fight without sense.
so he was enjoying the quiet ambience and of course Juvia was besides him, knitting some hat for him, although he told her he doesn't need it but her stubborn self exclaimed:" nonetheless Gray-sama! Juvia will impress you with her knitting skills! she has improved over the months".
he can tell by how many bandages were wrapped on her fingers on both hands, he is worried that she might hurt herself if she doesn't tune down her excitement.
and even if he tells her that, she wouldn't listen to him because she will delude herself with 'Gray-sama's worrisome is like medicine to me!' nonsense and it's too early in the morning for Gray to hear that.
so he just enjoyed the silence between them while she focused on her threads.
Few minutes ticked by and he can sense the frustration coming from the water mage next to him, he glanced to his side and noticed the -cute- frown and her hands tightly holding her straight needles.
her hands worked their way through the confusing loops of threads, their movement were shilly shally, not knowing how to continue the work, suddenly her hands stopped working and she dropped the craft on the table disappointedly.
she sighed.
" it didn't work out?" he asked, turning to look at her.
"No" she replied, her shoulders were hunched and her frown was still in her face, Gray doesn't know why he feels annoyed at her dejected expression but he felt the urge of making her feel better.
and what's best than making her laugh? ( also because he doesn't know how to comfort people and he is afraid he might ruin Juvia's mood by trying)
he scanned the guild for a potential target to use them for his humour and saw Cana dazed on the bar, her head between her arms, completely passed out, it is very unnatural for Cana to not express her love to her barrel of wine at his time, but Gray knows the reason.
"So Cana is not herself today", he nodded towards the brown haired woman, Mira was shaking her shoulder to wake her up.
"Yes, Juvia wonders why" she replied, her frown turning from frustration to worrying about her friend, Gray knows how much she cares about Cana, yet seeing her worry about her makes Gray smile slightly.
He got back at the task at hand, humiliating Cana with no guilt.
"well, I know why", with a smug expression he turned to her.
"I heard that she called Macao dad" he started, both of their heads leaned on each other as they began whispering.
"what?!" Juvia gasped, her smile widing a little.
" yeah, she was really drunk that she mistook him with Gildarts" Juvia laughed a little, it was a progress.
"Gildarts heard about it and challenged Macao and almost turned the guild upside down if Cana didn't stop him" Gray continued as he saw Cana batting Mira's hand away, she didn't want to be disturbed from her drunken slumber.
"Juvia can not believe this" she laughed, and it was like the bells of heaven in his ears, he felt satisfied.
"yeah, Cana felt so embarrassed that her dad destroyed half the guild, Macao wanted to seize the opportunity.. like asking her if she wants him to be her stepdad" Juvia cackled at that mention, and Gray joined in, they laughed to the point that their guildmates throw at them weird looks.
"and then she told him that the reason why she confused him with her dad is because he is old" their laughter turned into a chortle, Juvia wiped small tears from her eyes and all Gray could do is laugh beside her, looking at her softly.
that's when it hit him.
he loves Juvia's laugh, that's why he likes to joke with her more than he does with the others, because Juvia's laugh gives life around him. and when that hit him he cringed at himself internally.
You are lost Gray , he thought.
One morning, Levy had a task to sort out the new books from the boxes that were delivered to her in the Guild, and Gray was bored -Juvia wasn't around yet- and saw how she struggled with the boxes, so he offered to help her out. also the fact that she is actually pregnant and shouldn't be moving too much.
Levy was grateful that she got another set of hands to help her organise the books, it was a lot of them, and Gajeel was in a job.
Gray was getting the books out of the box and putting them in their own category of genres.
" Isn't this the book that Lucy wanted to read?" he held a medium sized book, with a hard cover titled 'The Persistence Of Joy', Levy took a look at it and snorted.
"Yeah she did, but she got spoiled by another book nerd when she was in her mission, and dropped it immediately" she replied, sorting the books at the same time.
Gray hummed in acknowledgment and got back to organising the books.
"So, what's up with you and Juvia?" she took a moment and added "again", Gray rolled his eyes at her remark, he adores Levy's company but the amount of books she reads makes her read between the lines a little too much for his liking.
"what do you mean?" he responded with boredom against his will instead of ignoring her completely.
"Well, it seems like you enjoy her company, last time I saw you laughing to tears with her" she explained, a little bit dramatically.
"have you ever laughed with a person before Levy?" he put the book that was in his hand on top of the others with force that dust was coming out of it, he looked at her pointedly.
she rolled her eyes, and went to put them in their shelves, Gray took that as a sign that she dropped the subject and he can finally focus on finishing his job, he began to regret ever offering a helping hand.
after a moment of blissful silence.
" I am just saying that you were laughing because of he-"
"i swear to god Levy" he glared at her, Levy just lifted her hands to show that she completely understood his point and won't make any unnecessary comments.
Finally, after finishing putting the books in their respective places, he hurriedly left the library alone since Levy was more engrossed in reading a new book that she found. the work was not tiring but he wanted to see Juvia so badly, he knows she is waiting in the Guild's Main room.
he heard her laughter from the door of the library's hall, and when he opened the doors, he spotted her laughing with Mirajane and Wendy.
He smiled softly as he looked at her, she shined brighter than ever with her eyes closed and the sound of joy she made, he could never get tired of it no matter how many times he hears it.
Maybe her laughter makes him crave laughing as well, it makes him want to reach for that joyful moment. So he joined them, completely oblivious about Levy's presence, poking her head out of the door and smiling.

Plushies
Tumblr media
Fandom : Fairy Tail
Relationship : Gray x Juvia
My Comfortember 2023 contribution for the prompt : Plushies.
I’m sorry for the mistakes, English is not my native language. I hope you like it.
Summary : It had only been a few days since Team Natsu left Magnolia and yet Gray missed Juvia. They spent so much time together that he felt like a part of him was missing when she was not there. He had never felt this for anyone.
Disclaimer : Fairy Tail belongs to Hiro Mashima.

Gray took his backpack and he sat down on the bed. He opened the bag and rummaged inside. He could hear Natsu and Happy sleeping in the bed next to his. Team Natsu had been hired for a mission that was supposed to last several weeks. They had stopped at a hotel to spend the night. Lucy, Erza, Wendy and Carla shared a room, while he shared one with Natsu and Happy.
It had only been a few days since they left Magnolia and yet he missed Juvia. They spent so much time together that he felt like a part of him was missing when she was not there. He had never felt this for anyone.
He smiled when he found what he was looking for in his backpack. He looked towards Natsu and Happy and he saw that they were still fast asleep. He knew that if they ever woke up, they would not stop making fun of him.
He took a plush out of his bag. It was not very big and fit in the palm of his hand. Gray could not help laughing slightly when he thought back to when Juvia gave him the plush. It was the day before he left for the mission. He was packing his bag when Juvia came to see him.
“Juvia has a surprise for you.”
She handed him a bag and Gray took it. He could see the impatience in Juvia's eyes. He opened the bag and took out a plush. Gray opened his eyes wide, not expecting this kind of gift. It was a small plush bearing the image of Juvia.
“It’s a Juvia plush,” the water mage said with a huge smile. “That way, when you miss Juvia, you can hold her close. Juvia made it small so you can keep it with you at all times. And look.”
She took out of her bag a plush of the same size as the Juvia plush.
“Juvia has a Gray-sama plush. She will keep it with her all the time, until you come back. This way, the two plushies can also be reunited.”
Gray smiled tenderly. It was not the first time Juvia had this kind of attention for him. Even if at first her gifts embarrassed him, he was now touched by all her attentions. He took her hand, drew her to him and kissed her.
“It’s perfect,” he said, pulling away slightly.
Gray lay down on the bed, Juvia plush next to him. Even though he felt a little ridiculous, Juvia was right. In a way, she was with him. He ends up falling asleep, eager to return home and to sleep with Juvia in his arms.
The end

wrote more stuff at work for friendoes. (Kakashi x OC| Natsuo x OC | Hawks x OC | Obito x OC | Gray x Juvia | Jellal x Erza)
for @goodnightlover
prompt: "i didn't die." "you were dead to me."
__________
Before he could take one look into the guild hall someone viciously attacked Gray by throwing her whole body onto him. It was not like he hadn’t been ready for this specific ambush, no, Gray had been trained for this for many years and this point and braced his body to take in the impact. Maybe he had even slowed down a little upon getting to the Fairy Tail building, so that all his teammates entered before he did, leaving him outside with only his attacker. Maybe.
“Gray-sama,” Juvia chimed, her head snuggling against his cheek and he murmured defensively something about how she needed to stop, but left his head right there for hers to touch. He was also glad to see her again, it had been at least a month since the last time they had spoken and he had thought a lot about her since then, so he was glad to have her right by his side once more. Not that he would loudly proclaim these feelings, of course.
Juvia grabbed him and pulled him closer, her voice sounding a little like she was sulking: “Gray-sama was gone for so long, Juvia was all alone.”
“Nonsense,” Gray said and got out of her tight grip, “You were with the guild.” Juvia made a face and it told him what he already knew: Juvia liked the guild and the people there a lot, but she liked spending time with nobody as much as with him. He told himself that this was nothing to be proud of, but he still was. Feelings weren’t cooperating with him as much nowadays as they used to.
She finally fully let go off him and jumped back on her feet, the blue top that she was wearing revealed a part of her skin beneath. A shudder went through Gray as he caught a glimpse of the scar that sat on her hip there. He pressed his teeth together.
“Gray-sama isn’t listening, is he?” Juvia said, putting her face closer to his again to gain his attention. “What is he staring at?”
Gray averted his face away from hers, feeling a little heated in his ears with her so close. “When will you finally get rid of that scar?”
“Never,” Juvia didn’t even hesitate before she replied. “This scar reminds me of Gray-sama and the sacrifice we are willing to do for our love.”
“Well, it reminds me of failure.” He shook his head. “It reminds me that I have to get much stronger to be able to make sure such a sacrifice will never be necessary again.”
She clasped her hand together and was already half singing again. “Gray-sama is already so strong. Juvia thinks, he should trust more in his own strength and of course into her ability to protect him.” She blinked with her big, dark blue eyes at him.
Somehow her reply made him angry. He turned around to her directly. “But that is not how it should be!” Gray yelled, a little louder than maybe necessary, because the conversation in the guild hall suddenly came to a halt. He couldn’t stop himself anyway. “I should protect you. That’s how it should have been back then, and it should definitely be now. I don’t- I don’t ever want to see you dead again. That’s why I’m on this laughably long quest. That’s why I need to be stronger. That’s why I hate…” He tapped with his hand to his own, now magically naked, chest and circled the scar, “.. this scar that marks my utter failure.”
“But..,” she reached out her hands to lightly touch the back of his hands, “… Juvia didn’t die.”
“You were dead to me.”
Gray pulled his hand back and took a step away. “You were not moving, not breathing, your blood was not circulating in your body, but mine, keeping me alive while you were slipping away. And I couldn’t do anything, but watch yet again. You don’t understand how often I see this in my nightmares!” Yes, he could have checked the pulse a little longer, stayed by her side just for a few more minutes to watch help arrive. If he had been patient, if he hadn’t lost his cool, he’d known she was alright right away, but too many people had sacrificed themselves for him all through his life and when it was her it was just too much.
Juvia stood still in place, her hand still reached out to his that was now out of her reach. His anger puffed into smoke and his heart sank when he noticed the tears in the corners of her eyes. “I’m sorry-,” she started, but he cut her off by stepping forward: “No, don’t- don’t apologise-“
“Fuck.” He picked up the hand that was still hanging in the air with both of his. “I don’t- don’t hate that scar this much. I don’t mind that you have it, I’m sorry for yelling.” There was very little that he hated more than Juvia crying because of something he had done. It had happened too often and needed to stop. “I’m sorry, okay.” Then, softer. “I – I know that you’ll always look after me and I am very thankful for that.”
She put her head down against his hands holding hers and he couldn’t stop himself from leaning his own head down so he could put his forehead into her hair. They just stood like this for a while until Natsu could be heard through the open doors: “Geesh, do all of ya need to be so damn dramatic?”
