Me venting about 14 because I have to somewhere

Lmao so we're 4 quests away from the end of the game and I'm seeing ppl who are afraid of spoilers and i'm like, Girl, I regret to inform you-there are none. They literally gave everything away in the trailer and promo stuff. I half expected "the eliminator" to be the final boss. There are TWO, 2, character points that can be considered spoilers. Otherwise, they had nothing good to reveal or hide. I suppose that's why they showed us so much of Sol9. You could cut the story of the entire expansion, hand us the "plot device that sets up the future of the mmorpg" in a side quest, and you would lose nothing of value. (Expect for Kirle and Erenville lore. That was good!)

im so sad LOL I love the art direction and music but damn everything else is so blah, meh, or downright awful. (Even the supposedly harder or more challenging dungeons/trials are way easier to understand. You die once - if even - and then you have the mech. memorized. It just feels like everything has a bloated HP bar. Guess it's finally time for me to graduate to Ex... oh haven't done the end dungeons yet so maybe they'll be what ppl are excited about!) The gear sucks. I haven't seen a single piece of glam worth farming for. I was not expecting recolored gear for dungeons when Yoshi P said they have enchanced the amount of rewards by 1.5. I guess he just meant....dye? food? help. The duel dye system is a joke. Havent tried picto or viper yet so i hope i like at least one of them.

anyway, i have one word document of bulleted points of things that baffle me and one rewrite that makes everything bearable but keeps the same plot points / ideas. ITS RIGHT THERE GUYS. I barely added/switched stuff around/took stuff away and made it instantly passable. I compared this to my fondness/hatred for RWBY which make me die. How did ff14 pick up the bad habits of THAT writing staff??

Happy for ppl who are enjoying it. I wish that were me. Once I finish MSQ i'll be able to enjoy the world more at my own pace so maybe it'll change my mind a bit... I hate being so negative about a game I love so much but man. The hype from "Going on a Vacation with my WoL" to "Actually I want to go home :(" sucked so bad.

Bugün araba ile işe gelirken radyoda bu türküye denk geldim. Mustafa Özarslan’ın yorumuyla dinlediğim bu türkü beni yıllar öncesine; İlk öğretmenlik yıllarıma götürdü. Şehir merkezinden 40 km uzakta bir köye öğretmen olarak atanmıştım. Okul birleştirilmiş sınıftan oluşan ve benden başka hiç personelin olmadığı tek öğretmenli köy okuluydu işte. Aynı üniversiteden mezun olduğumuz beş arkadaş ile aynı istikametteki farklı köylere atanmıştık. Şehirden geliş gidiş yapmaya karar verdik. Urfalı olan ve en son noktadaki köyde çalışan arkadaş babasının Toros taksisini almıştı. Beyaz Toros. Ben hep arka koltukta ortada otururdum. Ben hariç diğerleri pek konuşmazdı. Bir süre sonra ben de sûkut ettim. Toros’un boyu kısa, şoförlük yapan arkadaşın boyu da babası gibi uzundu. Tavan tamamen kirle kaplanmış; babasının ve arkadaşın başı sürekli tavana değdiği için o alan silinmiş olduğundan temiz kalıyordu. Ve teypte de genelde hep Mustafa Özarslan çalıyordu. Hiç hoşuma gitmiyordu şarkıları. Birkaç defa artık şunu değiştirelim desem de araba sahibi olan arkadaş, ben seviyorum deyip konuyu kapatmıştı. Birde sigarası sönmezdi hiç. Koku, pislik ve sevmediğim türküler eşliğinde gidip geliyorduk işte. Mecbursun, ihtiyacın da var mahkûmsun. Diğer arkadaşlar genelde uyurlardı. Ben ise bazen etrafı izler, bazen de şöförün tepesinde temiz kalan yere gözüm takılı kalır hayallere dalardım.

Yıllar geçti ve ben artık bu türküyü seviyorum. O yıllara götürüyor beni. Genç, idealist, çalışkan yıllarıma… Alışmışlık neticede aşinalığı doğuruyor aşinalık da aşkı, muhabbeti getiriyor. Hani en güzel yemeği hep annemiz yapar ya! Aslında en güzel yemek değildir o. Bize güzel gelmesi aşina olduğumuz içindir. Üniversitede Mardinli ev arkadaşım vardı ne zaman tereyağlı pirinç pilavı yapsam yerken yine annemin pilavı gibi olmuş der duygulanır hatta bazen ağlardı.

I guess I'll drop some intern-related headcanons here. (Under cut!)

Y'see, my interpretation of the Intern(s) is not any physical entity - not a robot, not any specific Internsona, not even a hand... it's a system. A system of wires and devices made specifically for volunteers to the Rhythm Doctor initiative to connect to and defibrillate patients with.

...Except it went in a bit of a wrong way, being haunted by the spirit of a patient falling victim to improper treatment. That patient being the representation of myself:

A side-effect of this 'takeover' is that the numerous TVs that were installed to optionally show the face of the intern(s) at work can also show a form that the reawakened soul of Kirl came up with to represent himself again:

I'm gonna briefly go on a tangent about how exactly the whole thing works. There's two ways an intern can defibrillate a patient, and both are still left around by Ian in case the less effective one still has a use in its distance:

Method A: Direct Connection A wire comes down and directly connects to the patient's heart. Can only be used within the hospital's walls, but it's the more effective method in comparison. This is also the only method currently equipped with a prototype of the "Miracle Cure" Ian has been working on, though it isn't active yet (during the events of the game).

Method B: Remote Shock Control A device is stuck onto the patient's chest, close to where their heart would be. This device is then remotely told to deliver slight shocks to the heart for a less effective defibrillation at a much greater distance than Method A. The further away from the hospital, though, the greater the input delay… (Used throughout Act 4.)
