it's kind of ironic that dean uses judging sam for not telling jess about hunting as an argument to get him back into it, not knowing that mary was also a hunter who chose not to tell her partner about her past. his idealized version of mary as a normal and loving mother is entrenched in a version of her that is doing the exact thing he warns sam against. the woman dean is grieving for does not exist without mary having made the same decision sam tries to make, though of course dean has no way of knowing that at this point.

To no one's surprise the LED lamp project I've been tag rambling about is yet another goddamn benrey but hrrrng colour choice? Gold matches my decor but silver might look better with LEDs. Maybe even white. Thoughts? Base will be matte black or gunmetal spray.

In Part III of TBOSAS, Coriolanus tells Sejanus that they are like brothers and that Sejanus can trust him, and this has always stuck out to me for many reasons. However, the one that I want to address right now is the parallel it creates between Snow and Sejanus and Romulus and Remus. Namely, Romulus’s fratricide of Remus which led to Romulus founding the city of Rome, its institutions, government, military, etc. and how it mirrors Snow’s betrayal and killing of Sejanus. Snow’s betrayal is what ultimately led to Gaul allowing Snow to return home and taking him under her wing as a mentor of sorts, as well as him becoming heir to the Plinth fortune. Thus Sejanus’s death resulting from Snow’s actions played a major part (along with Lucy Gray) in setting Snow down the path of evil and to becoming the dictator we see see in the trilogy—the man who instilled new life into the Hunger Games and ensured their survival for the next 65 years.

OG SSR R2: the room itself is aight, but it is unfortunately a near copy of the story H scene. Ahhh, death by comparison. This one gets shrugged to the side simply because i like more things about its twin.

Crimson Phantom R2: yaku is not having a good time, y'all. he is not in the right headspace and his evident suffering is a boner killer. if i were ranking based on character development and lore, this one would rank higher (thank you, surprise tragic stories about yakumo's childhood), but. he's kinda fighting a losing battle against his self-hatred so can eiden give him that hug pls

OH!! and no lie-- his voice unsettled me here. i know he's playing big into the roleplay thing but that Uncharacteristic Vocal Behaviour mixed with Big Sad spiralling is uhhhhhhh . so where's that Eiden hug??????

OG SSR R5: i unlocked this waaay late so it had to (unfairly) compete against newer rooms that I unlocked before it.

it's similar to when I played FF/X-2 before trying FF/VII (original PS version)?! i wish i had played the older one when it first released. that way, i would have appreciated it properly? BUT!! because i played out of order, i was spoilt with modern graphics and improvements that made the old game impossible to finish. I was too warped by then...

and that's what happened with this room. although i liked the concept + their dialogue, the art was too off-model for me to fully engage. i kept fixating on the anatomy or eiden's face. sigh... it was one of the earliest rooms so of course the art's improved since then!! but i was unlucky and watched it too late :( i could not enjoy its full splendour :(

Ok, so in my Relativity Falls AU when Mabel comes back from the portal she's gonna be that cool aunt who lets the kids play with her multidimensional weapons and Dipper's anxiety will go from 0 to 100 in an instant whenever that happens. Also when the twins ask her how she lost her arm she's gonna look like she's going through a PTSD episode and just stare at nothing for about 7 seven seconds before she goes "well! Time to knit Waddles a new sweater!" And leave without explanation.

okay i probs shoulda made this earlier on but in my defense i didnt really see me talking about fandom etiquette so much coming so a list of things to keep in mind about fandom etiquette for whenever i talk about it

fandom etiquette is:

etiquette rooted in fandom, came about both for safety and harmonic reasons

the safety reasons are cause you can never fully trust creators and businesses even if they truly dont mean any harm (mainly the creators cause lbr businesses do very much mean you harm if it fits into their bottom line)

the harmonic reasons are cause there are ppl with marginally different lives than you which means marginally different definitions of what fun means, this doesnt mean you have to excuse ppl acting like pieces of shit but it does mean that there are just some things that Seem bad based on what we've been taught but is ultimately harmless and you just gotta turn a blind eye even if you personally dont like it

like all etiquette is pretty much self-imposed with maybe some poking and prodding from other fandomers

a constantly evolving conversation that arises from discourse as mistakes inevitably get made

something that i myself heavily rely on cause im really picky with the spaces i like to immerse myself in and generally speaking places that i subconsciously note as following fandom etiqutte pretty well generally are ones that i can tolerate being in

fandom etiquette is not:

inflexible

static

infallible

something that creators, businesses, and nonfandomers will generally give a shit about esp if they lean more towards being normative rather than niche, if they think youre a cringy freak stalker then no amount of "cringe culture is dead and i dont Actually believe or care if these ppl are dating irl" will change the fact that they think youre a cringy freak stalker

something that will protect you when someone goes against it

pros:

theres a reason these things became more or less codified and its cause generally speaking theyre good rules to follow in fandom spaces so as not to turn them into complete tar pits

can help ground you when creators and businesses are getting a little too comfortable with fandom esp if youre the type whos congenial towards them rather than avoidant

can tell you the result of certain discourses cause theyve already happened before, possibly even multiple times

if youre like me, can help you look out for warning signs for when a fandom sucks too hard for you to want to be in it before even joining it if theyre not like. Visibly toxic from a glance

cons

can be used to silence more marginalized fandomers

can be used to shut down genuine complaints and criticisms

can be used to protect community abusers

can produce and/or reinforce thought terminating cliches (ex. "let ppl just have fun" and "separate art from the artist", the former is produced while the latter is reinforced, they can both be used to excuse some genuinely politically reprehensible things like continuing to fund jkr out of nostalgia even after being told with evidence why thats a bad idea)

what are your headcanons for peeta’s birthday and why? here is a long post to show i like to over analyze everything

i personally think he’s older than katniss with some loose facts from the books.

we know reaping day is july 4th from TBOSAS, and we know school still goes on during the summer from katniss’s statements during the first games when she was dehydrated and looking for water (“My thoughts turn to Prim. It’s likely she won’t be watching me live, but they’ll show updates at school during lunch…”).

with this information, i think their grade levels are likely determined by reaping day. this is obviously my headcanon, but it makes sense given the most significant date for them seems to be reaping day since you enter the reaping at age 12 and are finished at 19, so having this easy system to categorize children’s eligibility for the games only seems fair. essentially, people born from july 5th one year to july 4th the following year are all in the same grade (for example, july 5, 2000 - july 4, 2001 is one grade, and those born july 5, 2001 start the next school year’s class, etc.).

with that theory, and knowing katniss’s birthday is may 8th, statistically it makes sense that peeta would be older. so this was a long winded case for me to say i think peeta is older.

however, while i think he’s older, i struggle with placing his birthday. i appreciate the fun of it, but i have very minimal knowledge on astrological signs, so i’m not sure which sign i think he is to help me place him.

going off vibes, i feel like he could fit a few months. like i could really see him being a late october birthday, but also i could see him being any winter month. i’m not sure! as someone who loves birthdays, it pains me that we don’t know his, even if it’s an insignificant detail to the greater story.
