Ninjago Gals: Daily Maintenance

Nya, Pixal, and my OC Leyna. I thought this would be a fun doodle when I realized how all three of them are tech savvy in their own way.

Some sketches of the Ahltinor sovereignty's interrogator, Rahlindir. I haven't drawn this guy since before I decided that my elves don't grow beards (they can grow slight sideburns but that's about it) he used to have a goatee, so it's fun to see him with his new look. Leyna is with him in the other sketch, I have planned for them to be in love- in a very messy and tragic way, they're both very broken and weary people.

It’s someone’s birthday today

It’s the flowers and leaves strewn through their hair as they look up at the stars. It’s the faint smile barely visible in the fire’s light, and the gold flecks the flames bring out in their eyes, things she’s never had the chance to notice before.

For a moment, this one single moment in time, that she’d give anything to freeze and be able to look back on whenever she wanted, they look…peaceful, and younger. And so very beautiful. Like the nature spirits of other Shards. A perfect being of grace and the wilds, maybe a guardian of a sacred grove. Their green cloak could be made of moss or leaves in the dim light, and their pink hair a meadow.

Beautiful.

But it wasn’t just that either. It was the silent power that still hung around them, that they couldn’t shake even if they tried. It was the muscle that she knows lay underneath their many layers. The way they sat, seemingly perfectly relaxed, but could spring into action at a moments notice. The lines of scaring showing just how much they had survived.

Deadly.

And it drew her in like she was only a moth, and they were the only light in existence.

And they wanted her by their side. After everything that had happened, she had done, they wanted her here. And who was she to say no?

She would follow them into the darkest or brightest parts of the Shard if they asked. To the end of Esharial if needed. Even the Abyss. And they probably didn’t even know they had that power.

I’m in love with you, say heavy on her tongue. A realization she’d made days maybe weeks earlier, but one she didn’t dare speak lest it break this rhythm they had found. They fit together to perfectly for that, to easily for her to risk it.

But oh, how far and fast she had already fallen, when she’d long since believed there wasn’t that part of her to even lose. Perhaps her heart, that treacherous beating thing in her chest that she couldn’t risk now she knew it existed, yet felt stop too obviously every time a moment like this came, had only to come into existence for them. Or perhaps they had freed it from wherever it had been lost.

Just for moments where they looked so wonderfully blissful like now. Where nothing could harm them it seemed. Because it was so calm and peaceful and they were just…

“They’re amazing aren’t they?”

“Yeah.” You are.

My favorite OC Leyna Dawn in Lego Monkie Kid style!!

This was made with SonnieMed’s beautiful LMK OC maker, but I made some edits from the original since it didn’t quite fit her exactly right.

She’s a Star Wars character but she gets a crossover into Ninjago, so I wanted to make a Lego version. And I love it so much. Hooray for art! Hooray for people! Hooray for imagination!

If I can give you any advice about your characters… get a visual. Draw something, design something, pick a photo. Once you can see them out in front of you, instead of just in your head, it changes everything.
