I have a Zelda AU I’ve been working on on and off the last year or so. I’m going through and lining a comic I drew about a year ago for it.
And first off I’m very proud of past me for making a 3D model of the factory setting background and saving it because I was able to pull it into my iPad and trace it (the sketches were done with pencil referencing the model and I did a decent job with the perspective but this is way easier).
I’m also laughing so hard because apparently I decided that this high fantasy setting was going to have modern factory equipment and safety precautions (to some extent. The scene does involve the characters falling over a railing). I put a bunch of big random switches everywhere and a bunch of them have arc flash warning stickers on them. Who’s doing OSHA inspections on the evil villan lair?????
#like I should clarify here that this au has kinda an undertone of government corruption#there’s so much corruption. safety inspections here totally should have been faked#four grunts a week are getting exploded by random divine energy lightning bolts when the system overloads#I guess maybe the arc flash labels are from when the equipment was first installed and then they’re just super super out of date

My husband and I were discussing how the first felon is defending the FDA and how the quality control of our food is gonna basically disappear and I proceeded to have so much anxiety about it that I didn't sleep last night. How do we prepare for this? Is there a way to make food safe at home? How can we avoid getting poisoned from the grocery store? Sorry for bringing this anxiety to your inbox but I'm exhausted and scared and I'm hoping you've come up with food safety tips what with your general food complications.
I’m afraid I don’t have a solution for something of this scale and am just as equally terrified, but that said:
Check your local state regulations. Some states actually have strict testing that the FDA when it comes to certain things like milk. See if they are listing any recalls.
Stop eating things raw for the foreseeable future. Wash and cook everything thoroughly, even if the bag claims it’s pre-washed, wash it again. Cooking will also help eliminate any remaining pathogens. It means no more salads for a while but that’s okay.
For things like fruit, try to go with things that have an outer skin that can be taken off. If it requires you to cut into it with a knife, give the outer skin a scrub and rinse to reduce the chances of your knife being contaminated by anything like e-coli and then contaminating the insides by cutting it up.
For fruit that can’t be peeled, make sure to inspect and wash them thoroughly. If you are immunocompromised like me, consider cooking it down into a jam or pie filling to reduce further risk. Not as fun as eating it fresh for some people, but it’s a valid way of still getting the flavor and nutrients.
For things like milk, only drink pasteurized and ultra pasteurized. Try to get pasteurized eggs if you can too.
If you don’t have a meat thermometer, now is the time to get one. Make sore everything is cooked to its required internal temperature. For poultry, the recommended temperature is 165°F (74°C), while for beef and pork, the recommended temperature is 145°F (63°C) with a 3-minute rest time. Ground meats should be cooked to 160°F (71°C). Eggs should be cooked until the yolk is set. No more runny egg yolks for a bit until we get a competent source of information back about bird flu.
For things like flour, try to go for reputable brands that have their own independent testing facilities for things like gluten. They also usually test for other things and clean their facilities thoroughly. My go to is King Arthur atm.
Also, stop eating raw cookie dough if you’re not going to toast the flour in the oven first. That’s how a lot of people get sick, not necessarily from the raw egg, though stop eating raw egg right now if you do. Again, bird flu. [Addendum] I learned the flour trick in a job I used to work, but apparently, the pre-defunded FDA didn't think toasting the flour made it safe, so maybe just don't eat raw cookie dough. And I know someone's going to be a cunt in the notes like "I don't care I do what I want" good for you, hope saying that made you feel better.]
This is a dwindling possibility with the tariffs but try to buy food imported from other countries that still have food quality control. I get my masa harina from a small company that imports directly from Colombia. They can’t afford the gluten free label required to be classified as such in the USA, but considering Cheerios in the USA can afford to buy that label and the celiac foundation certification logo and still routinely sells contaminated produce due to not using gluten free oats and a mechanical sorting system that can’t be certified gluten free (1) (2) (3), I’m more inclined to go with other countries labeling right now.
With clean water under threat, use a filter for your drinking water. We currently use the ones by Life Straw. They don’t fit into your faucet but the LS filters are better than most of the ones that can be attached that way and the housing of the jugs and countertop filters are easy to clean. Make sure you do so once a week and change the filters as directed.
Most of this is just basic food hygiene stuff combined with what it’s like to be immunocompromised, but it’s always worth repeating in case someone didn’t know, but especially worth repeating right now with all our rules and regulating bodies going out the window 😞

Streamlining Your Business with Labelling Machines
Optimising productivity and efficiency is crucial for success in today’s fast-paced and competitive business landscape. One area where businesses can significantly improve their operations is in the labelling and decorating process. Traditional manual labelling methods are time-consuming and prone to human errors, which can lead to costly mistakes. Thankfully, labelling or decorating machines have emerged as a game-changer, revolutionising how businesses handle their labelling needs. This comprehensive guide will explore the benefits of labelling machines and how they can streamline your business operations while saving time and resources.

Understanding the Power of Labelling or Decorating Machines
Enhanced Productivity and Efficiency
Labelling machines are designed to automate the labelling process, eliminating the need for manual application. These machines can label products at a much higher speed and with greater precision than human workers. For example, a high-speed labelling machine can label hundreds of products per minute, while manual labelling may take considerable time and labour. With increased throughput, businesses can meet higher demands and efficiently handle larger order volumes, ultimately improving productivity.
Reduced Errors and Improved Accuracy
Human errors during labelling can significantly affect businesses, including wasted resources, product recalls, and dissatisfied customers. Labelling machines reduce the likelihood of errors by automating the application process and ensuring precise label placement on each product.
Some labelling machines have built-in sensors that detect product positioning and automatically adjust the label application to match the product’s size and shape. It minimises the risk of misaligned labels and ensures accurate placement every time. Furthermore, labelling machines can integrate with barcode and RFID systems, enhancing product traceability and inventory management, which further reduces the chances of errors and improves overall accuracy.
Cost Savings
While labelling machines require an initial investment, they are cost-effective in the long run. One of the primary cost-saving benefits is the reduction in material wastage. Manual labelling often leads to misprints, label misplacement, and label damage, which results in wasted labels and additional expenses. Labelling machines ensure minimal wastage by applying labels accurately and consistently, optimising the use of label rolls or sheets.
Flexibility and Versatility
Labelling machines are highly versatile and can accommodate various label sizes, shapes, and materials. Whether businesses require adhesive labels, shrink sleeves, wraparound labels, or heat-transfer labels, these machines can handle them all. Some labelling machines offer quick changeover capabilities, allowing businesses to swiftly switch between different products or label designs.
Streamlined Regulatory Compliance
In industries with strict regulatory requirements, compliance with labelling standards is essential. Labelling machines can be programmed to ensure compliance with specific regulations, such as ingredient listings, nutritional information, and hazard warnings. Businesses can avoid legal penalties, maintain consumer trust, and uphold their brand reputation by automating the compliance process.
Improved Branding and Aesthetics
In today’s competitive market, product branding is vital in attracting consumers and building brand recognition. Labelling machines can add decorative elements, brand logos, and appealing designs to product labels, making them more visually appealing to customers.
Adaptability to Industry Demands
Labelling machines cater to various industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, etc. Different industries have unique labelling requirements, and labelling machines can adapt to meet these specific needs.
Choosing the Right Labelling Machine for Your Business
Label Types and Sizes
Before selecting a labelling machine, businesses should identify the types of labels they need to apply and their sizes. Some labelling machines specialise in specific label types, such as self-adhesive labels. In contrast, others offer greater versatility, accommodating a variety of label materials, including shrink sleeves and in-mould labels.
Production Volume
The production volume is crucial in determining the appropriate labelling machine for a business. High-speed labelling machines are ideal for large-scale production facilities, where a high volume of products needs to be labelled quickly. Conversely, smaller businesses or those with lower production volumes may find more cost-effective solutions in mid-range or semi-automatic labelling machines.
Automation and Integration
Automation features are essential for optimising the labelling process and reducing manual intervention. Advanced labelling machines can feature auto-adjusting settings, label position correction, and label presence sensors. These functionalities ensure that labels are applied accurately and consistently, even when dealing with products of different shapes and sizes.
Maintenance and Support
When selecting a labelling machine, consider the ease of maintenance and the availability of technical support from the manufacturer or supplier. Regular maintenance is essential to keep the machine in optimal working condition and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
Conclusion
Plastics Processing Machinery in Australia have transformed how businesses handle their labelling needs, offering increased productivity, reduced errors, and improved efficiency. By investing in a suitable labelling machine that aligns with their business requirements, companies can streamline their operations, save valuable time and resources, and position themselves for success in today’s competitive market.
Automation and technology continue to shape the future of Plastics Processing Machinery in Australia with advancements in precision, speed, and integration capabilities. As businesses seek to optimise their labelling processes, staying informed about the latest trends and industry innovations is essential to remain competitive and meet consumer demands effectively. || Trigger Warning: Graphic Descriptions Body Horror & Death Regarding Unnamed Children ||
All your life you have heard that there is a beauty in chaos, and while you do agree with this, you also find there is a beauty in organization.
You like taking all the chaos and putting it into categories. You like sorting the details and finding the mysteries that need to be unraveled. You think it must be similar to how clever people feel when they solve a riddle or a puzzle, but you aren’t running in circles with philosophical thoughts - you are analyzing what is already available and coming to a conclusion.
It is still all chaos, because everything is always chaos, but it is organized into a way that makes sense.
And Matt’s stolen duffel bag, when first unzipped and inspected, was full of chaos.
You, Foggy, and Karen quickly got to work looking over the different papers and forming different stacks based upon agreed parameters.
It became clear Matt’s guess that he had found some sort of laboratory was correct. The papers all appeared to be results of different medical tests, though at first glance, the three of you could not decipher for what.
But deciphering wasn’t needed at that moment, so it didn’t matter, and once everything was spread neatly across the dining table, the next step of your beloved process began.
Foggy gave each pile a designation and then the three of you began labeling each paper in the top corner.
A1. A2. A3. A4.
B1. B2. B3. B4.
All your analyzing would be useless if you couldn’t source your data, and it was quickly clear your little group all shared the same brain cell when it came to this idea.
While you worked at the table, Matt and Jessica sat on the floor by the couches, marking up a map. You caught snippets of the conversation - this bit of evidence was heard in that alley, to get to a certain tunnel system you had to go through such and such warehouse. It was fascinating to know that Matt had memorized nearly every square inch of Hell’s Kitchen - even the parts you didn’t know existed - and it was equally amazing that Jessica knew just as much.
After hearing them talk, it left you wondering if Frank had the same knowledge, but you would leave that question for another time. He had been assigned to the two thumb drives that had been in the duffel bag. You had furiously taken mental notes as he had grumpily explained to Matt the little devices couldn’t just be plugged into a computer. They could have malware on them or trigger tracking or something equally devious and needed to be inserted into a clean laptop that couldn’t connect to the internet. That way, if the laptop tried to send a signal or became a brick, there would be nothing lost.
Since neither you nor Matt happened to have a spare laptop laying around, Frank went to go procure one.
That was about half an hour ago and now you are well into your third Foggy-assigned task - highlighting any identifying information in yellow. There’s nothing easy like names or addresses listed out, but you noticed a pattern for patient labels and have determined there are at least five.
As you jot down that Patient 031517DVA also appears on page D4 in your notebook, you find you are enjoying yourself. This isn’t exactly what you imagined when Matt talked about inviting everyone over to review what he had found, but you think it is nice. Knowing that Matt isn’t out there running around without any sort of plan soothes your nerves and seeing that he is putting in the time and thought into his next actions makes you trust he knows what he is doing.
No one wants a shady underground lab in their neighborhood, but you need to make sure they are actually shady first and not some weird fringe group researching an unknown breed of sewer rat.
The effort going into helping Matt with this task makes your fondness of Foggy, Karen, and Frank grow even more - and gives you a fondness for Jessica. Everyone is serious about their task, and extremely thorough, and you want them to see you in the same light. You know this is not a game and you refuse to let your part in the research be the weak link.
As you go to the next row of numbers to examine, you catch some movement in the corner of your eye. You turn your head and watch with a soft smile as your daughter emerges from Matt’s bedroom, clad in her mouse-onesie pajamas. Her sleep mask is pulled down around her neck and she looks upset, but she’s not crying, so you don’t jump to run to her. You let her make her own decisions as she sleepily looks between you and her father and you can’t help but to mentally crow a bit as she starts shuffling towards you, her little mouse-tail trailing behind her.
Everyone’s attention is on you as Minnie lifts up her arms to be picked up once she’s within a foot of you. You dutifully scoop her up and put her on your lap, fixing her hood and mouse-ears as you do.
“Is everything okay, sweetheart? Did something wake you up?”
She nods, then flops herself against your chest, mumbling out, “There’s monsters.”
You begin to gently rub her back, hoping to soothe her worries as you confirm, “there’s monsters?”
Again, her head bobs up and down before she nuzzles into your neck, trying to hide herself. Across the room, Matt is up and making his way towards you, but it is Foggy who speaks up next.
“Are they silly monsters or scary monsters?”
You smile at the question as Minnie ponders it - her little lips purse against your neck and you feel her breath against your skin as she silently repeats the words. She decides on ‘scary’ - replying in a timid voice as Matt takes his place behind you, sliding his hands onto your shoulders.
“Do you want me to help you tell them to go away?” you ask, having packed your bottle of Monster Repellent for just this cause. Little fists clutch tightly at your shirt as Mouse shakes her head and you give a soft hum in thought. “Do you want Daddy to go scare them off?”
You are sure Matt would run outside to chase away a stray cat or hungry raccoon if his princess wished for it, but she shakes her head against you, so you guess Matt will be staying inside.
“How about we make the monsters silly instead of scary?” is Karen’s suggestion, and like the others, it falls flat.
You consider offering to read some stories, but Matt startles you from your thoughts by sliding his hands down your arms to get to his daughter. He gently urges her to let go of you before transferring her to his arms and bundling her close. She absolutely clings to him, looking so tiny against his broad shoulders.
“I got this,” he says, his voice barely above a whisper before he turns and starts making his way back to the bedroom. As you watch him walk away, he buries his nose into her hood, and he begins to rock with each step. The itty bitty fist you can still see tightens around his t-shirt and your heart yearns to follow your family, but you know this is a Daddy-Daughter moment and you need to stay seated.
You were worried about Minnie getting scared over sleeping in a new place - there’s so many new and different noises but you trust Matt to help her interpet everything. He’s already done such an amazing job of it in day-to-day life and you know he’ll explain away all her monsters and let her know she is safe.
Considering the company she is starting to keep she is probably the safest little girl in New York. No monsters would dare to lurk in her shadows less they want to face the wrath of the Devil.
You know that this little group you are becoming a part of would join you in jumping in front of a bullet for your daughter and you are pretty sure even her newest best friend - Max the Dog - would not hesitate to bare his teeth if someone upset her.
She deserves nothing less and it makes your heart soar that she is so thoroughly adored.
Now that her research partner is on another important assignment, Jessica gets up off the floor and strolls over to the table, “anything interesting?”
“Maybe if we were scientists instead of lawyers,” Foggy replies warily, dropping his pink highlighter in favor of nursing his beer, “and knew what any of these numbers meant. We’re going to spend all night looking up these test numbers and hoping they are real. I mean, look at this,” he motions to the paper he is currently working on. “What the hell is D22S1045? And why is the result 15?”
Jessica takes one look at the paper before scrunching up her nose and blandly stating, “It’s a DNA marker. Haven’t you ever seen a paternity test?”
Foggy’s face goes slack for a moment before he is huffing, “Not since college when we had to study paternity suits, and they looked nothing like this! They were like dots we had to match, not numbers!” He uses his beer to point to you, “did yours look like this?”
Your cheeks heat up at the question and you duck your head, hating all the attention is on you with such a personal question. “No. No, mine didn’t…we just received a letter with the results. Not the data.”
“So, they are doing DNA and blood tests?” Karen asks, taking over the conversation and directing it back to Jessica. “And comparing them with each other. Could they be looking for relationships between them?”
“I’m not a fucking doctor,” is the reply she gets, but Jessica picks up the paper to examine it more closely either way. “But none of these match. The numbers have to be the same for a parental match, but that might not be what they are looking for. Just because it looks like a paternity test doesn’t mean it is one. DNA markers are used in a lot of shit.”
“It might not be human,” you add quietly. “Matt said the lab smelled of human blood, but we don’t know that these tests are on humans. There’s no dates on these, so they could be years old.”
Karen whips out her phone and is typing away before you are done talking, “What was that DNA marker, Fog?”
Foggy repeats the string of numbers and letters and you watch Karen’s eyes scan her screen.
“It’s human,” she states after a long, tense moment. The scowl Jessica gives is near legendary.
“Great, so we have a bunch of assholes in abandoned tunnels running tests on people.”
“That sounds both sanitary and humane,” Foggy grumbles before throwing back the rest of his beer.
“OSHA and FDA approved,” you add sarcastically and that earns you a smile from Karen. She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear before she guides you all back on track.
“We still have no idea what they are looking for, though. This could be cancer research for all we know - we are still at square one.”
“One point five,” Foggy argues, “we confirmed it’s human.”
“We don’t know what the tests are looking for,” Karen repeats, ignoring him, “and I don’t think looking up the significance of each DNA marker is going to do us much good. Can you and Matt go back to the lab and look around?”
As the clear recipient of the question, Jessica huffs then turns away from the table and goes right to the bottle of Macallan Matt keeps on top of his fridge. She pops off the lid, taking a long drink of it before answering.
“That was the plan, but I’m betting it’s going to be sprayed with bleach after knowing Devil-boy was poking around. It’s not like we will get much, not that there was shit to get beforehand.”
“So, we have no who, no why, and no where,” Foggy points out. “We are doing great.”
The joy you had gotten from trying to organize the chaos of paperwork evaporates and you sink down into your chair a little. Would continuing to highlight and document be useful or was this all for naught? The rational part of your brain told you to keep going, because it was better to have it done and not need it then to need it later and it still be a mess of paperwork.
“We’ve just started, Fog, of course we have nothing,” Karen says, rolling her eyes a bit as she does. “Did you expect them to write their plans in gel pens and leave them lying around?”
“I mean, that would be useful.”
You roll your lip between your teeth, thinking that Karen is right. You don’t have much, and you’ve only just started - of course things look pessimistic. While Karen and Foggy begin to banter back and forth about the use of gel pens in a professional setting and Jessica finishes off Matt’s whisky, you let your mind wander around the facts of the case.
Someone is out there running medical tests in a gross underground lab, probably trying to hide what they are doing. To do a lot of tests, they probably needed lab equipment, and a few years ago you would have said to follow that trail, but with all the advancements in technology, a machine to run DNA tests on probably only cost a few hundred dollars and was compact enough to move easily. Generators could keep people off the grid and there were enough tunnels under the city that years could be spent exploring them. Everything they would need could be ordered offline, and thus, was untraceable to you.
The only solid clues you had were what Matt had come home with, so you needed to keep digging there and hope that the thumb drives would contain something more useful.
So, you pick yourself back up, grab your highlighter, and get back to work.
Soon enough, Foggy and Karen pick their highlighters back up as well, and Jessica takes up a spot on the couch, putting her feet up and getting out her phone to tap at. The mood is much more somber, but you feel the same determination to find answers that is in you coming off of everyone else as well.
You don’t pay attention to the passage of time, but it is not long after you grab the final stack of papers to comb through that Matt slips out of the bedroom and closes the door behind him.
He starts towards the dining table only to stop by the couch, tilting his head towards Jessica, “That bottle was a gift from Foggy’s dad.”
“Boo-hoo, cry me a fucking river, Murdock.”
Despite the venom in Jessica’s voice, Matt chuckles and finishes making his way to you.
His hands once again find your shoulders and he begins rubbing them, digging his thumbs into just the right spot as he begins his Minnie-update.
“Someone with a really nice sound system is having a horror movie marathon. She was actually hearing monsters.”
“My poor baby,” you instantly coo, your heart breaking for your little one. “Did you tell her it was just a movie?”
Matt hums in affirmation, “That doesn’t help with the noise, though. We walked through turning things off and found something to work as white noise. It’s still hard for her to do it with new sounds, especially so tired, but she’s a quick learner.”
“How long did it take you to learn all that stuff,” Foggy asks, interest clear in his eyes. Karen puts her pen down as well so she can get the gossip.
“I don’t know, years? It didn’t come naturally to me like it does with her - I would train for hours to be able to pinpoint something, but she can do it pretty easily. I mean, she can’t tell me exact distance because she’s four and doesn’t know what that means, but she can point and say if it’s close or far.” You can feel Matt practically puff up with Pride over his baby girl. “She’s learning inorganic versus organic sounds now. She can tell if a loud banging is someone hitting something or if something just fell over. The other day she told me it was the wind making the window shake, because she couldn’t hear any other noises around the window.”
You smile at the story, having a feeling Matt is going to start going on about all the declarations Minnie had made during the storm and you don’t mind at all.
“So, she’s as good as you?” Karen teases and you know Matt is just beaming.
“Better. She can actually read a sign.”
Foggy barks with laughter while you and Karen have to cover your mouths to not giggle.
Once it subsides, you tilt your head back so you can look up at your daughter’s oh so loving father, bumping against his abdomen as you do, “is she down?”
He gives another positive hum, “In a nice deep sleep. Frank’s on his way back up and I wanted her out before he got here.”
You don’t know if that is from Matt wanting to rejoin the group to know what is on the thumb drives or if it is from him not wanting Minnie to get excited over Frank, but you are thankful she’s conked out either way. The thought of her hearing all your discussions about what lurks in the darkness of the city makes your stomach turn.
She doesn’t need more monsters to imagine.
You thank Matt while reaching up to rub one of his arms - letting yourself give him a small bit of affection. You ignore the look Karen is giving you in favor of making sure Matt is all caught up.
“I take it you heard everything?”
He sighs deeply through his nose, and you take that as a ‘yes’. He confirms with his words.
“Human testing with government trained agents isn’t what I was hoping we would find.”
“I was personally hoping for research on the mutant alligators in the sewers,” Foggy says as he gets up to go towards the kitchen, probably for another beer. “You know the ones they flush down the toilets.”
“That’s a myth, Fog.”
“Look, with everything else that goes on in the world - weird aliens and giant green men - let me believe in my sewer gators, Murdock. They make me happy.”
“With everything that Stark and Roxon dumped in the waters, I wouldn’t be surprised,” Karen muses, resting her chin in her hand, “I mean, Matt got superpowers from something getting in his eyes. If a rat ate something that was contaminated, it could have gotten super senses as well.”
You raise your brows up at the idea, a smile coming to your face, “a crime fighting rat?”
“A crime fighting rat that is a ninja,” Foggy chimes, a wide grin on his face and it sends you into giggles.
“How would a rat even learn martial arts?” Matt counters, “There’s not a rodent karate school he could spy on.”
“I don’t know Matt, how did you learn ka-ra-te,” Foggy emphasizes the word to make it sound more mystical. “He would learn from a secret ninja rat clan.”
“What the fuck are you guys talking about?” Jessica asks, looking over her shoulder at the dining table, disgust and confusion clear on her face.
You and Karen erupt into more laughter while Foggy just grins like he won the world cup as he returns to his seat. Matt gives your shoulders a firm squeeze before letting go and pulling away. He disappears into the narrow passage that is his hallway, and you hear the front door open. Heavy boots signal Frank’s reappearance, and when he and Matt come back around the corner, you offer a small smile.
The Punisher holds up a clunky looking laptop, straight from your middle school years, “Got it.”
“Does that thing even work?” Foggy asks, eyes narrowing in scrutiny. You trust Frank, but the question is valid - if you saw that in a Goodwill, you would doubt it would even turn on.
“Of course it works,” Frank scoffs as he delivers the device to Karen. She instantly opens it up to get it started. “Old body, new hardware. Got it built just for this type of shit.”
Foggy’s lips twitch and you wonder if he wants to say something but is holding his tongue. Jessica joins the table as Matt once again returns to standing behind you. His hands find your shoulders like they are drawn to them, and you wonder if he can’t help but want to touch you. It makes you feel special and wanted and your belly stirs with a certain type of warmth.
Everyone’s focus is on Karen as she works - the laptop boots up and she fiddles with the first thumb drive until it is ready to be inserted. It feels like you all are holding your breath as she finally plugs it in. You expect there to be a password, but apparently there is not, as she just clicks away.
“There’s two files,” she narrates. “One labeled 082616DUK and one labeled 121417BNY.”
You instantly recognize the first designation and push your notebook towards Karen, trying to not sound eager as you tell her, “The DUK one is in our files. Can we look at that first?”
Her face lights up at the prospect of a connection and selects the requested file, “There’s five pictures. Hold on, let me bring them u- Oh my God.”
The little color in her face drains as a horrified expression takes over and her hand shoots up to cover her mouth. You and Froggy scramble up out of your seats while Frank and Jessica crowd around Karen to look at the screen. Matt stays where he is, tilting his head just slightly.
When you see what is in the file, you wish you had stayed under Matt’s hands.
The neatly severed head of a boy stares back at you with blank milky eyes, sitting on an examine table. His hair has been shaved away and there is an incision line around his skull that makes it clear someone has probably removed his brain. His mouth is open in a silent scream, showing off that he still had his baby teeth and that someone has taken his tongue.
You want to throw up and you want to turn away, but you can’t. You can’t look away from this poor child who someone has so thoroughly defiled. Who had done this to this boy and why? You wanted to shake them and scream and demand to know what could possibly possess someone to do this to a baby? Because this was someone’s baby - someone’s little boy - and someone had taken him and ruined him.
You don’t know how she manages it, but Karen brings up the next image and it fills you with just as much disgust and anger.
It is that of a tiny hand with its fingers forcibly splayed, stuck with pins to keep it that way. The tips are bulbous and round, different to anything you’ve seen on a human before, and between each digit, there was a thin stretch of skin connecting them, much like the webbing of a duck’s foot. Like the head, the hand has been surgically removed from the rest of the body, and it isn’t hard to determine they go to the same person.
The next image is of the head again but turned to be facing the left and pre-removal of the tongue, as the appendage is pulled and stretched from the mouth with a pair of forceps. The muscle is an odd shade of purple and coated with some sort of liquidy-white residue, but that is not what is unique about it. The boy’s tongue doesn’t just peek out of his mouth - it extends across the table almost three feet, if the tape measurer under it is to be believed.
You need to turn away after that and to no surprise, Matt is instantly by your side, wrapping you up in his arms and guiding your head to his neck. “He’s just a baby,” you whisper in horror as you cling to him, not understanding how someone could be so cruel. Even if he had died naturally, there was no reason to treat him like that in death.
“Did they…” Froggy starts, his voice low and quivering and you don’t know if it's from rage or grief, “Did they make him a frog? Did they mix this kid with a fucking frog?”
“No,” Frank replies, not hiding how he is feeling at all. The fury is clear in his voice. “They did it because he was like that.”
“What’s the other file?” Jessica demands and part of you doesn’t want to know. You bury yourself more into Matt and you listen to Karen click away at the track pad.
Matt’s arms tighten around you and you can’t imagine what he is thinking. No one has said out loud what the images show, and he has not asked - but he must know it isn’t good. He’s gone tense under you, like he’s ready to jump into action and rip someone apart with his hands.
And you want him to. You want Matt to find whoever did this and make them pay. You want him to punish those who hurt the child in the photos, the people who ran tests on him.
You want to help Matt find who did this and for him to make sure they can never hurt anyone ever again.
“She’s…she’s got a beak.” Karen says slowly after a few moments, and you can’t bear to look at another autopsy photo. You hide yourself more against Matt, not at all ashamed of your choice.
“She’s Enhanced,” is Jessica’s reply, almost blank with stifled emotion.
“She’s a kid. They are hunting Enhanced kids.”
“Why?” Foggy questions, sounding wet, like he’s starting to tear up. You don’t blame him in any way. “Why would they do that?”
Under you, the Devil finally speaks, his voice low and eerily calm, “it doesn’t matter why. We are going to find them, and we are going to stop them.”

Cynefin.
Cynefin: (n.) A place where a person or an animal feels it ought to live and belong; it is where nature around you feels right and welcoming.
The Xianzhou Yaoqing arrives at a former universal trading planet, now vacant of its former prime. The General, unable to go herself, sends her most trusted advisors to inspect the planet. You are the thing they find, something with a stark resemblance to an abomination.
CW: Mention of: Injury, sort of angst like, kinda fluff too, monster!reader, 1.5k words.
Honkai Star Rail | Main Masterlist
This planet had experienced a catastrophic incident many amber eras ago, this has left its remaining life forms cut off from the rest of the cosmos. The people of this planet are, what the Genius Society would label, primitive. They do not understand the giant metal structures left behind by their forefathers, they have no knowledge of the aeons, or of the place they once occupied in the vast universe. To put it simply, it’s like someone pressed the ‘reset’ button on their civilization.
The Xianzhou Yaoqing sits a distance away from the solar system, it’s a part of the Alliance's duties to form allyships across the cosmos, and protect the unknown universe in their ongoing war against Yaoshi, the abundance. A group of knights along with the General’s own chosen representatives, and a representative from the Skyfaring Commision, have made landfall.
While the representative has the job of creating connections among the locals, the General’s representatives have other orders; to inspect the land and look for any possible signs of abominations. Boots thud against stone roadways, two men not clad in uniforms make their way to a market square. Tall pinkish ears twitch at every sound; sharp plum coloured eyes scan the plaza. Of course the General would only send her most trusted retainers, Jiaoqiu and Moze.
The plaza is alight with noise, bustling with people selling and buying goods. Odd smells from local cuisine wafts through the heavy air, chatter overlaps and repetitive shouts bounce off the nearby houses. In simple terms, the plaza is overwhelming. The retainers keep close, following the flow of the crowd, asking merchants and shoppers odd questions. No good answers, most have nothing of note to offer. Except for one shady looking travelling merchant from a neighbouring town, they claim that unlike others they use the forest as a shortcut, in the forest they have seen a monster; something human, animal, and plant, all at once. The retainers thank the traveller, now this was a good lead.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The forest ahead is dense, giant trees sway gently in the wind, tall undergrowth plants make for great cover. Jiaoqiu trails after Moze down a dirt path, his ears flick at every rustle of leaves, Moze watches the undergrowth for movement. The locals confirmed the traveller’s claim, but they also added their own: Ghosts.
Something small, pale, and inhuman stands in the middle of the path. Its head tilts that and this way, before its stubby legs take it towards them. Moze stops on the path to stare down at it, if not for his great hearing the foxian would have slammed right into him.
“Moze, why did you stop?” The foxian asks.
“A ghost.” Is the simple answer he gets.
“Is it cause for concern?” Jiaoqiu prods.
“I doubt it.” The shadow guard continues down the pathway, ignoring the small spirit.
“How comforting.” If Moze could see his eyes, he’d roll them for extra effect.
The spirit watches them leave before wandering into the undergrowth, it joins others of its kin, gathered around a large human-like body. The creature stretches and stands, mellow eyes look at the retainers in the distance, curiosity makes it follow.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jiaoqiu sits back on a rock, the clearing allows sunlight to warm the air. Moze has disappeared into the undergrowth, searching the surrounding area for any clues. Leisurely the foxian waves a fan back and forth, the short bursts of air makes his hair sway. Your eyes follow the movement of the fan, they glide over his facial features. He reminds you of the locals in build, but much like you, he’s not entirely human.
His tail, fluffy and dense, flicks from one side to the other, your own tail mimics the movement. You sit only a few feet away from him, his eyes are closed, he’s relaxed you conclude. You adjust yourself, his ear flicks, yours mimics.
“Moze?” His voice is soft, your own ear flicks again.
You move closer, staying low to the ground. You sit on your haunches, now right before him, you tilt your head. A hand with sharp nails reaches out, gentle as a summer’s breeze, you ghost across the skin of his hand. He flinches away, and you lean away, a low rumbling sound echoes from deep in your chest. His brows furrow, the relaxed look on his features bleeds away, giving way to concern, fear perhaps.
“Hello?” He calls, voice no longer soft.
“Hello?” You mimic his speech, although your voice is hoarse and the sound is muddled. The foxian considers his options, you don’t seem hostile, but your nature is still unknown. If you do become hostile, or grow bored, there’s not much he can do against you. Being unable to see your movements, if you’re armed or unarmed, based on the hand that grazed his skin, you certainly have sharp nails.
“Moze!” He calls into the forest, it’s the best option he could come up with, the shadow guard wouldn’t have gone far.
“Moze?” You attempt to mimic him again, this is not a word you recognise.
In your speculation, you don’t notice the figure coming up behind you, his footsteps completely silent. A hand grabs the back of the fabric draped over your body, you’re reeled back and trapped before you even see his face. You begin to fight back, instinct kicking in, you trash around sharp nails searching for exposed skin. Various rumbling noises, akin to growling, shake your chest as you tilt your head to look back at your assailant.
Weight presses against your back, Moze’s cold hand unwinds from the fabric and wraps around the back of your neck, pressing down. You still, fighting a hunter when they have you by the neck is a dangerous game, one wrong move and it could end you. You breathe heavy, eyes wide and staring back at his own, sharp eyes.
“Moze?” Jiaoqiu calls in a soft voice, his head tilting down in the direction of the scuffle.
“Yes, I’m here.” The man above you calls back, you can now conclude that he is Moze.
“Well?” The foxian asks expectantly, his ears twitching at the bird song.
“I think we’ve found the monster in the forest.” He gazes down at you, analysing your every feature. “Something human, animal and plant. Certainly looks like an abomination.” He looks up at the foxian. Abomination, a word you recognise, maybe you should stay quiet, for your own sake.
“Mean.” You can’t help it, the word just slips out before you can think too much about it. Jiaoqiu laughs quietly while Moze looks down at you, you flick your tail around, clearly annoyed by the comment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having done their job, the retainers return to their ship, and you are brought along, willingly or otherwise. With bound arms you sit on the floor, the foxian sits in a chair not far from you, the other guy is nowhere to be seen. You attempt to curl up while still sitting up, this fails and you come crashing down against the metal flooring, which hurts alot when you can’t catch yourself.
Jiaoqiu’s ears twitch at the thud, and something in his subconscious reacts to the, arguably pitiful noise you let out. You exhale a deep breath and curl up on the floor instead, feeling quite defeated at this point. The foxian stands and with slow careful steps, moves closer to your body. You let out a noise in warning, and he stops a few steps away.
“Are you okay?” He asks, you stare up at him, unamused and wholly confused by his speech.
“Okay,” he breathes, carefully he crouches down next to you. “That sounded like it hurt.”
“Hurt,” you repeat, it’s a word you recognise the meaning of, and it did hurt. Jiaoqiu sits down on the floor, his head tilted towards the ceiling.
“You know, I used to be a healer,” he reminisces, “I could help you, if only a little.” You don’t understand a word coming out of his mouth.
The foxian reaches out a careful hand, you watch it closely as it hovers over the ground, softly it makes contact with the base of your neck. You shiver involuntarily, he moves his hand up to your hair, a gentle caress. You allow this to happen, he doesn’t strike you as intimidating.
The other man, Moze, walks back into the room, he looks over the scene before he sighs. “You’re not supposed to be friendly with an abomination.” You glare at him.
“We don’t know if they’re an abomination, that’s for the Alchemy Commision to figure out.” The foxian carefully weaves his fingers through your tangled hair.
“It looks like an abomination,” Moze counters, stepping closer to look over the man, you glare back at him.
“Looks can be deceiving,” Jiaoqiu speaks in a soft voice, it’s soothing to your ears, they flick, one grazing the skin of his wrist. “Plus, they’re under our care for the time being.”
“So? They’ll probably end up locked away.” Moze returns your glare, equally unamused by your presence, the small scratches he just spent far too long cleaning and wrapping are reason enough.
“That’ll be for the General to decide.” Jiaoqiu is oblivious to your little staring match with the man looming over his shoulder. “And who knows, perhaps they aren’t of the abundance at all.” He muses, Moze scoffs and you mimic the sound.

Automated Silica Canister Inspection: Revolutionizing Pharmaceutical Quality Control

In the world of pharmaceutical packaging, accuracy and speed are essential. For this reason, automated silica canister inspection is becoming more popular on manufacturing floors throughout the world. When every component matters, a fault in the silica desiccant canister could endanger the entire batch of drugs. The CANIS system from Optomech was developed specifically for the purpose of inspecting silica canisters flawlessly and quickly. Automated silica canister inspection guarantees that every canister in the batch is tracked, measured, and validated, regardless of blocked mesh, short molding, or even minute diameter differences. At 14,000 canisters per hour, the CANIS machine provides your operation with continuous, real-time quality checking.
Why Desiccant Canisters Must Be Inspected Automatically
Desiccant canisters preserve the efficacy of drugs by absorbing moisture. Canisters with flaws, however, may fail to work or introduce physical pollutants. Why doesn't privilege come into play in the conversation, what is the preferred way you would prefer trans women refer to the privilege to side step all of the worst concequences of transmisogyny? how do we communicate that?
Bringing up Semenya is a great example of an intersex woman having less privilege to escape transmisogyny than perisex women. This is not really the slam dunk you think it is because the terrible intersexism (with transmisogynist intent) she has been receiving since the transvestigation is it's own separate horror from what would happen to a trans woman- her exclusion no better or worse in my mind than the exclusion the trans woman would face but it is my (good faith) understanding that distinction is important to the intersex community- and it is that marginalization as an intersex woman that makes her less exempt from transmisogyny.
I hope you have a nice day. thank you for talking about this with me.
Because I am not talking about privilege- which I again have already stated is there. I'm talking about the idea that one is somehow exempt from their own experiences.
I have no problem with whatever way trans women want to talk about their own experiences. I do have a question and it is this: how is one *exempt* from systemic oppression? Systems of oppression are, well, systems. They are something that affects everyone. A cis woman who is forced to undergo a genital inspection, a blood test, a cheek swab, a birth certificate check to verify that she is not a trans woman is still being affected by the system of transmisogyny because it is the explicit fear and hatred of trans women that is creating this issue.
A cis woman that suddenly fails this check because it is discovered that she is intersex, such as Semenya, is now sorted into the same file as the trans women whether that is "correct" to label her such or not. There are many people insisting that Semenya is a trans woman specifically because they do not understand what intersex means or even is.
It does not escape my attention that the particular examples I gave- both Khelif and Semenya- are also falling under misogynoir and interphobia. That is the basis of my logic, so you still really aren't in disagreement with me- all of this is interconnected because that's kind of how intersectionality and systems of oppression work.
I also brought up Semenya specifically *because* she is intersex. Khelif swears she is not intersex. The supposed "authority" that Rowling got her information from says she is. According to Khelif, she has never submitted to any medical testing. And Khelif's country has made being LGBT illegal, so I am unsure exactly where that would leave her if it is discovered that she is intersex after all and that may be a significant portion of why she is so resistant to the idea of testing (also bc it's genuinely not anyone's business).
The point is that both Semenya and Khelif went into their Olympic careers as perisex-assumed cis women. Both were transvestitated. One managed to side step the majority of material consequences though I do still see people swearing that she is "secretly a man". The other was not able to do so. So it is not necessarily true that a cis woman is automatically able to dodge the consequences of being transvestigated just because she is not a trans woman. That's my point.

Hey hi! I've heard you've got some kind of offer or sale going on, not too sure what its about but I'd like to buy your services. My best friend is a bit of ladiesman jock type and he keeps complaining he can't find a good relationship. So I wanted to know if you could maybe turn him into less ladiesman and more men's man, maybe daddying him up a bit? So i could maybe get a chance with him, and he'd get the relationship he wants.
Subject: Order #100714
Dear Dopple,
Thank you for your recent purchase from The Spiral, home for all your transformation needs! Your order #100714 has been received and is on its way as we speak. Your order includes:
(1) Daddy_From_Friend(Best;Jock)
(1) Mystery(Self)
Expect delivery in 3-5 days. Please note that joint delivery is expected.
Sincerely,
The Spiral
We knew you’d come around and round and round and round…
It was only a few days later when you heard another notification come through from The Spiral. At the same time, you hear a knock at the door. You were glad for the interruption. It was nice to head over to your friends’s apartment and hang out for the weekend. But if you had to listen to him complain again about how tough the dating market was for a white, straight, good looking guy like him you were going to scream. Glancing at the notification for a package delivery to this address, you realize that it is probably about time for the show to begin. No need to interrupt the process. You dart into the restroom as you hear him pick up the package. As you close the door, a rip is heard outside, and as you lock it, a faint poof is heard. A faint fog creeps under the door crack. It smells like fresh grass and sandalwood. Another notification comes through, as The Spiral provides you with product details:
Due to selected target changes, we have elected for our rapid delivery transformation system to best meet your needs. Upon receipt, subject will open box and full product delivery will commence. A dense cloud of product will be released directly onto target and rapidly absorbed. Your friend will age to around 35, with associated physical changes. His previously smooth, young body will change rapidly. Skin is expected to tan, hairline recede, muscles grow, and body and facial hair develop. As the product is breathed in, expect tastes to change. Your new friend will prefer whiskey and beer drinks, along with the occasional cigar. As mental changes set in, they will find themselves drawn to care and maintenance hobbies, like regular workouts, yard work, renovations, cars, and sports. He will be drawn to jeans and beat up tennis shoes or boots, and only prefer to wear a polo when they must go into the office. At the same time, his mind will be filled with images of men. Men staring at him. Men holding onto him. Men worshiping him. This will start the final change, a libido adjustment. He will feel a deep need to fuck, to control his partners, and leave his seed planted deep inside them. The added girth and heavy sack will ensure he never underperforms. As he adjusts and embraces his new personality, he will settle and seek a single partner to fulfill his needs.
Thank you again for choosing The Spiral
You finish reading and unlock the bathroom door, running from the upstairs bedroom through your friend’s spacious house to meet him on the porch.

He is standing on the porch, a box still in hand, just as described. You didn’t know he could be more handsome, but he has aged like a fine wine. He takes one look at you and simply holds out the package in his hand,
“It’s for you.”
For you? You check the label and he is correct. You grab the box and he crosses his arms, waiting. Unsure what is inside, you open the package.
“Ah, good. Been waiting for these,” he snatches it from your hands and inspects the well-worn frames. You try to turn away, but he catches you in his arms,
“This should make you behave.” He takes the sunglasses and sticks them on your face. In an instant, the world is dark. And then a pair of screens flicker to life. As spiral fills your vision, you try to take them off. But your friend is holding you tight. You can’t resist it’s allure for long. It’s right. You do feel so sleepy. As it counts down from ten, your body begins to sway and relax. But you can’t bring yourself to mind. The spiral knows best. You fade away, held in the warm embrace of release and the strong arms of a man…
You come to laying in a bed that feels familiar and foreign all at once. You scratch at your beard and inspect the scene. Lube is left open on the bedside table. Tank tops, jeans, and boxers are strewn over the floor. A pillow is still wedged under you. Heh, still got it. You wander downstairs as you stretch your muscles and rub some sore muscles from the night before. You find him in the kitchen preparing some eggs. Your love. Your master. Your beast in the sheets. You sneak up behind and wrap your arms around his waist.
“Stop, you’ll make me burn them.”
You don’t listen. You plant a kiss on his cheek. He turns around, spatula in hand, and smacks your ass.
“Act your age, boy.”
Something in that statement hits a trigger. You remember something. A younger body. Slender, taut, pale. A firmer mind. Less corruptible, less controlled. Then, you feel an arm around you.
“You okay, cuz you look faint. Don’t break a hip old man.”
You stare at your husband and the world comes into focus. He smirks and gives you a little growl, and you swoon a little in his arms,
“Give daddy a kiss,” he commands.
You lean forward, pressing your hairy chest against his, and love on your husbear.

“I’m going to finish these eggs. Go set the table and look cute,” he says with a wink. You walk off, dizzy for a new reason. You ignore the buzz in your pocket as you get ready for breakfast.
Subject: Order #100714 Fulfilled
Dear Dopple,
Your order has been fulfilled. We know you have many options, but thank you for supporting The Spiral.
Sincerely,
The Spiral

10 Convincing Reasons to Embrace Recycling Machines
In today’s changing world, there’s an ever-growing concern and worry for environmental sustainability. With the global population increasing, waste generation and environmental impact have escalated significantly.
One must undertake recycling as a crucial practice to address these challenges, but conventional methods might not be sufficient. That’s where investing in recycling machines proves to be a smart and forward-thinking choice.

Such advanced machines revolutionise waste management and offer many benefits beyond just being environmentally friendly.
What is a Recycling Machine?
A recycling machine processes recyclable materials into reusable products or raw materials. Its main job is to reduce waste and conserve valuable resources. It is available in multiple sizes and types according to the user’s needs. Also, plastic automation machine systems for recycling are present in the market to ease the process and reduce waste.
Why is a Recycling Machine Crucial?
Cost-Effectiveness
Investing in recycling machines can significantly reduce waste disposal costs for businesses and municipalities alike. By recycling on-site materials, companies can avoid the expenses of transporting waste to distant landfills or recycling centres.
Recycling machines can process various materials, turning them into valuable resources. These include plastics, metals, paper, and glass. These recycled materials provide ample benefits to the manufacturers. They can sell and reuse them, potentially creating a new business revenue stream.
Environmental Advantages
Recycling machines remove waste from landfills. These reduce their environmental impact and preserve valuable land space.
By enabling the recovery and reuse of valuable resources like metals and paper, recycling machines lessen the need for raw material extraction. This conservation of natural resources helps protect biodiversity and minimises habitat destruction.
Energy Efficiency
Extracting raw materials from nature demands significant energy inputs. In contrast, recycling materials generally consume less energy, making it a more sustainable option.
Recycling machines contribute to lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to producing materials from scratch. It plays a crucial role in combating climate change and reducing industries’ carbon footprints.
Waste Volume Reduction
Recycling machines come equipped with features like compaction and shredding, significantly reducing waste volume. This compacting effect results in more efficient storage and transportation of waste materials.
Smaller waste volumes achieved through recycling machines allow businesses and municipalities to optimise waste storage and transportation, leading to cost savings and reduced emissions. Also, the recycling process becomes simpler if you have plastic automation machine systems.
Flexibility and Versatility
Recycling machines can handle various materials, from plastics and paper to glass and electronics. Their adaptability makes them suitable for diverse recycling needs.
Each recycling operation may have unique requirements. Recycling machines come with customisable settings, making it possible to tailor the recycling process to specific materials and goals.
Improved Waste Sorting
Recycling machines incorporate advanced sorting technologies, such as optical sensors and AI-driven algorithms, ensuring precise and efficient separation of recyclable materials.
Contamination in recycled materials can compromise their quality and usability. One can minimise contamination using cutting-edge plastic automation machine systems, resulting in higher-quality recycled products.

Investing in recycling machines is an excellent way to promote environmental sustainability while stimulating the green economy’s growth. By utilising recycling machines, we can reduce waste and minimise the impact on landfills, which helps preserve natural resources.
We can also strengthen the regional economy by supporting local recycling initiatives through these machines. This is because the machines require skilled labour to operate and maintain, providing employment opportunities for local workers. Furthermore, promoting recycling and sustainability can foster a sense of community responsibility, encouraging individuals to preserve the environment actively.
Compliance with Regulations
Many regions have strict regulations regarding waste management and recycling. Investing in recycling machines helps businesses comply with these regulations and avoid potential penalties.
Recycling regulations are there for every entity to follow. If you do not adhere to the legislature, it will bore hefty fines and legal consequences.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Investing in advanced recycling machines is an example of a company’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. It is pivotal in the present world.
Companies foster a positive reputation and brand image by adopting a solid corporate social responsibility strategy. It is a significant factor in attracting new customers and retaining existing ones.
Additionally, customers will support businesses placing a high value on environmental preservation. When businesses invest in recycling machines, they show their commitment to the environment. Ultimately, by prioritising environmental sustainability, companies can substantially impact their bottom line while contributing to a healthier planet for future generations.

I have another entry in my troll lineup, as well as some new specbio information !! :D Today will focus on the facial features of the troll and how these features help them on a day-to-day basis.
Here's Eridan! ^_^ While I admit he may be my least favorite out of the twelve, I by no means dislike him. I just don't think he got enough characterization for me to click like I did with some of the others!! (And I'm a major sollux fan so I am admittedly biased) Regardless, he's one of the two reps for seadweller society and I greatly appreciate him for being the same caste as me, hehehe
I think I mentioned this before, on Feferi's page, but trolls have external gills located on the sides of their head, similar to some species of salamander. These gills allow them to breathe when submerged in water, but have the downside of requiring a seadwelling troll to remain properly moistened in order for their gills not to dry out. This doesn't have to be water, though; sopor does the job just fine. Landdwelling trolls do have gills, too, but they are vestigial and have no connection to the respiratory system. Sweeps of eugenics and genetic tampering have reduced them to decorative features in any troll purple or lower.
Trolls also typically have, when compared to humans, irregularly shaped nose bridges, usually with some kind of "bump" or "jut". This creates a much larger nasal cavity than a "flat humanoid" face would usually allow for, giving trolls a particularly developed sense of smell. They use this both for hunting (or they did before food became a sold commodity) and for social interaction, pheromones playing an important role during the grub stage as well as during consensual pailing (as opposed to the Empire's mandatory pailing processes, which often rely purely on the physical stimulus involved due to a lack of "want" for the action). These pheromones are naturally secreted by the troll through the seams of their chitin, and alert other trolls to any intense emotions of fear, anger, or ecstacy.
The mouth is a particularly refined piece for the troll. It is wide with an exceptional range of motion in the jaw area, allowing the troll to open their mouth significantly. Their teeth, orange due to their being made of the second layer of chitin, are designed for cracking open the tough shells of the large insects and crustaceans which call Alternia home, as well as holding them in place. Their tongues are comprised of two parts: the inner tongue, which is long and barbed to draw insects' flesh out of the punctures made by the teeth, and an outer "case", a soft shell of grey chitin that keeps the inner tongue from hurting the inside of the mouth.
The troll also has two mandibles on either side of the mouth which contain a specific venom. Trolls will bite down on an insect with their teeth to keep it in place, and use their mandibles to inject the venom. It causes paralysis in non-troll creatures, which allows the troll to slurp up the insides of the insect with their long and thin tongue. This same venom, however, when used from one troll to another, works as an aphrodesiac. During pailing trolls will often bite each other to get each other 'in the mood,' so to speak. The venom usually gets stronger at this point, though, as it's flooded with hormones due to the matesprity- or kismesisy- feelings the troll may have.
As with Fef, we have a labelled diagram! 1: The external gills. You can see on closer inspection the individual "branches" of the gills. 2: Sinuses. Trolls have sinuses because Tavros is canonically allergic to cats. 3: Big fuckin bump in the nose. As mentioned before, this lets them have a large nasal cavity despite having a humanoid "flat face." Large noses are typically considered attractive on Alternia, though of course beauty norms vary by region. 4: Nasal cavity. Lots and lots of room for sniffing and smelling. 5: Nostrils. Trolls breathe air, whether they're seadwellers or not, and they need a way to intake it. Nostrils are the best bet for such a large creature to maintain a feasible oxygen level. 6: Outer tongue. Flexible grey chitin with a hole at the tip to allow the inner tongue to exit. 7: Inner tongue. It's lined with backward-facing barbs to hook onto the soft flesh of a troll's prey. It retracts when the troll is not eating, or when they are eating food that doesn't really need that. 8: Esophagus. This where the food go. In humans it's often reversed, with the trachea being larger, but trolls aren't good at chewing they haven't even got bottom teeth they need a big ass throat. 9: Trachea. Where air goes. 10: The tunnel connecting the gill to the trachea. Sealed when gills aren't in use. 11: Teeth. The front tooth is double-pointed to apply pressure and crack open shells. The others are less fused together but apply the same concept. 12: Mandibles. Inside is the venom that acts as a paralytic to prey and an aphrodesiac to fellow trolls.
(the tongue was numbered wrong on the mouth diagram mb fellas)

(South) Indian Harry Potter Headcanons:
Harry knew he was Indian (mostly because the Dursley’s used to say racist shit to him) but he didn’t know where in India the potters were from until he went to Hogwarts. He finds out from the Patils, who were close with the potters because desis stick together.
The Patils are from the north and use Hindi to speak to each other. Neither of them knows Telugu/Tamil/Marathi/Malayalam/insert Southern language of choice here (I personally headcanon Telugu because it’s the only Indian language I speak and because there’s a huge diaspora of telugumandi in the west, but feel free to choose whatever you’d like). So Harry has to rediscover his heritage language on his own.
He also studies Sanskrit, and it opens up a HUGE world of spells that they don’t teach at Hogwarts (because of course Indian wizards don’t do spells in Latin). He and the Patils know a bunch of spells that nobody else does.
Harry’s pleat game is ON POINT. It makes sense, since he had to do all the chores at the Dursley’s and that includes perfectly folded and ironed laundry with the edges aligned neatly, or else he would risk being punished. But the result is that if you want your saree drape to pass the inspection of even the most judgemental auntie, you go to Harry to help with your pleats.
Even when they’ve graduated and all have their own homes, it’s a pretty regular sight for the Patil twins to come through Harry’s floo, half dressed, to have Harry pleat their sarees or their lehenga dupatta for them.
Harry LOVES spices. The dursleys only liked bland food, but Harry has always liked flavorful foods, and has no problem with (hot) spicy food either. He uses lots of spices in his own cooking now. His food is very flavorful, but when he’s cooking for himself, it’s too spicy for all his friends (even the Patils). So nobody can eat his leftovers unless he was specifically cooking with other people in mind. Ron learned this the first time he rummaged through Harry’s fridge after a night of drinking. Now Harry labels all his food as to whether or not it’s “Harry spicy”.
James LOVED to buy Lily sarees. He’d order them with custom, wizard-themed designs from weaving villages in south India. The women who made them assumed he was just very imaginative, so he wasn’t violating the statute of secrecy since saree patterns are often vibrant and unique. Harry finds some of them in the old potter manor, and they still smell like the perfumes and scented oils his mother would wear when James took her to the local temple for Hindu holidays.
Indian witches often store extra magic in or enchant pieces of their copious jewelry with spells that can keep them safe if they’re ever in a situation where they don’t have their wands. stuff like, each bangle can function as an emergency portkey that can take you to different safe locations if you say the activation word, or ones that create an instant magical shield when you tap them. Harry finds some of his mothers gajulu, gives them to his female friends.
He ties Rhaki on Ron and Neville, and all the weasley boys. Ron was the first person he ever tied it on, because Ron was the first person who he ever bonded with, and his closest brother.
Harry always cooks idli sambar or dosa for his friends for breakfast the next morning after a night of drinking together, and it’s the perfect hangover food because it definitely brings you back to full alertness/knocks the last bit of post-hangover grogginess right out of your system.
Harry’s parselmouth abilities are valued in his native culture because of the sacredness of snakes in Hinduism, and it comes to be something he’s really proud of (personally I think the ‘parselmouth connected to the horcrux’ thing is dumb, so I’ve always imagined Harry was just naturally a parselmouth).
As the number of Indian immigrants/expats continues to grow after they graduate, Harry helps some of his students (he’s the DADA teacher) start the Hogwarts “South Asian Student Union”.
He always has snacks out for his students when they come to visit his office hours, and they’re all Indian snacks and sweets. His personal favorite is kaju barfi, but he always has a good variety of both sweet and spicy treats, especially for stressed out owl and newts students.
He collaborates with Hermione, who works in the ministry, to make it mandatory for Hogwarts students to a “foreign magical language” course so they can broaden both their minds and their spell repertoires. Padma Patil becomes the “Sanskrit Spells” teacher, and Seamus teaches “Irish Gaelic”. (It took him a little longer to get his course started, since it turns out that at least 40% of Gaelic spells are just increasingly complicated and violent ways to repel the English).
Hermione and Harry also work together to make sure there are employees in the international magical cooperation department who specialize in post-colonial relations, because the magical world also has its issues with that colonialist mindset towards countries that were formerly part of the empire.
Just south Indian Harry embracing his heritage, learning about what was ripped from him, and using it to enact meaningful change in a multicultural magical society.
