My wasp drawing project, is closely coming to a close. I've only got 4 left to draw after this eyeless male Ceratosolen (Agaonidae, Fig wasps). This is a basic sketch that I've been working on. The middle set of legs need to be slightly repositioned, but overall, it's pretty much ready to be coloured. Hopefully the proportions and anatomy are mostly correct! Obviously minor changes still need to be made and will tackle them soon. I'll just have to wait and see how it will look coloured. I can't wait to finish this project. I've been working on it since January of 2024! Also, if there are any inaccuracies or mistakes/corrections, please let me know! I'd be more than happy to be informed so that my drawing is as accurate as possible!

May 2K24: The Beast.

Here's another X-Man I drew last year and only got around to colouring them In. Its Dr Hank McCoy a.k.a The Beast! As a Kid I liked the Beast mainly cause he was a Blue furred Mutant man and much like another character I liked as a Kid and that was the Cookie Monster 😄.

One thing I don't remember about the Beast was reciting quotes from political figures or stoics that kinda went over 5 or 6 year old Me's head, It's only till recently I rewatched the original X-Men Animated series and took notice.

I look forward to Kelsey Grammars return as Beast in the Upcoming Avengers Doomsday film too 😊.

Challenge Day 365 of Year 10!!! Here's PartyBot 10,000 Celebrating the end of another year of daily sci-fi character sketches.  To quote the movie Grosse Pointe Blank "10 YEARS MAN, 10 YEARS!". This was the goal in the back of my head when I started this idea to do a daily quick-ish sci-fi sketch to. I used to professionally draw advertising concepts and storyboards for commercials. And then design logos, and websites. Then added some sports and event based photos on top of that. But then I was on to overseeing the updates to a web program and coming up with improvements for it. I wasn't really in a professionally creative job anymore. Well I was QA'ing logo designs, but I wasn't making them myself. I wanted to find a simple daily sketch concept that I could keep at daily. I was already getting out and doing bar located cosplay life-drawing nights with some fantastic friends. Shoutout to Andy and Kat. But those sessions ended up being too spread out for something like this. And I was doing my mythology sketches, but they took longer and required some time, both to draw and to research. Sci-fi stuff just kind of happened any time I was sitting down and had a sketch book open. So it seemed like something I wouldn't get bored with, or put up too many excuse roadblocks. So there it was.

A few things have changed; Less experimenting with pens and papers and colours, full character sketches on the weekends, and my favourite, tiny personality blurbs about the characters that aren't about them saving the universe but just living their lives. Though I'm sure a few of them have ended up saving a planet, or galaxy, or two.

To everyone and anyone who has liked these, or followed along with me on this little sci-fi universe populating journey, whether from the beginning, or if you've just found this challenge, thank you! It's been nice to think other people are enjoying this little quiet project of mine.

Tomorrow we start a victory lap year 11 of this!  Partly because I wanted to finish off my scifi Mer-May sketches. Partly because I had bunch of other ideas rattling around I haven't drawn yet. But mainly because I just enjoy making these. Who knows maybe I'll even make it to a dozen, or bakers dozen years of these.
