Hey! Sorry for the random question, but… found your Reverted Au stuff, and wanted to know if you’re planning on making any fic or comic for it! Honestly just came across it, and I’m absolutely in love. ;-;

oof kinda forgot about Reverted for a bit to be honest, been distracted by tmnt again for the past month or so.

uhhh maybe?? I definitely had some stuff planned for it and I think some of that is really cool so I'm definitely going to do something with it eventually - probably a comic or two (i've been wanting to get back into making those and i don't have the sort of consistent motivation/attention span to dedicate to a fic lmao).

Do you record and edit your podcast all by yourself?

I do! Which is also why I'm fairly slow at it, I write, voice act, record and edit it all on my own. My partner made the theme music and he's done one or two of the special effects (specifically the whistling in 'Ghost of a Memory' and the static in the 'Halloween Interruption' episode) but other than that, yup all me.

Podcasts are incredible like that, you can literally just be a guy with free tools like audacity and a sub par mic and make it happen!

I was poking around through Neopets stamp albums the other day and I've decided that my personal favorite is the Mystery Island one, on the grounds of having the rarest stamps be almost entirely misprints of other pre-existing stamps

48 chapters!!!!! yippee!!! trust that i will in your comments to an irritating degree as this gets published, no chip AU is my favourite.

No such thing as irritating. No such thing as a comment that is too long or rambly. I am glad that the 48 chapters is exciting because I personally found it insane. Nobody who writes 470k worth of an AU series sits down and writes the entire thing beforehand. Who am I.

Anakin just isn't mature. He's, like, 20 or 21. Fantastic older brother figure. Is definitely doing a great job teaching Obi-Wan how to punch things. I think it's...like, it's okay to be a dumb college student who's not mature enough to be in charge of a whole-ass child. There's an actual very specific reason unique tot his AU why he's so disengaged from the Jedi, which we'll find out next chapter. In an ideal situation that's, like, fine. He would be a perfectly good master if there was, hypothetically, a competent adult in the room. Obi-Wan Kenobi is busy being a baby, so there is no competent adult in the room. All you have is Qui-Gon. Who is. Qui-Gon.

It's cool how you picked up on that note about Qui-Gon, because that was pretty much the backstory that I eventually developed in my head and never mentioned. Qui-Gon is an extremely knowledgeable scholar on very obscure aspects of the Force and its religions - which means he believes in some woo-woo and conspiracyish stuff which he insists is just Hidden Knowledge TM. He's one of THOSE hippies/wiccas/White Buddhists TM. He doesn't have the time or the inclination to focus on teaching.

But he IS one of the top five duelists in the Order, and he's frequently asked to temporarily take on senior padawans who have martial talent but outgrew the skill their current masters. He DOES teach, but he tends to casually teach a) 17yos+ and b) dueling skills and/or specialized Force knowledge. This was Feemor. I think teen!Xanatos asked Qui-Gon to teach him, Qui-Gon hated his vibes and said no, and Xanatos stormed off. [MILD SPOILERS] He took on 15yo Anakin as a favor to Ahsoka, so it was more of a full-time padawanship than he'd ever had, but he was still a full teenager by the time that they met. He's never. Dealt with. Just. An 7th grader. So: you're actually completely correct, that's exactly what's happening. I felt the need to tell you all of this because I never say it in the story at all, whatsoever.

Essential to Obi-Wan Kenobi is him existing to cause problems. He's well-intentioned and good-natured, but his protagonist disease is terminal and he's a walking Situation. He will get involved in everyone else's problems and make everything worse before solving them. Entering dangerous situations is compulsive and uncovering mysteries is his hobby. OK now imagine he's 13. And sad and lonely and bored. Cody's life is hell.

I feel like it is potentially not the wildest idea that perhaps if you Hate Christmas and are going to be a Rude Ass Cunt for the entire evening it may be a good idea to not demand that the holiday happens at your house? Demanding that *you host* claiming that you *love hosting* and then, actually, getting mad at everyone for every little thing and overall just having an obnoxious attitude complaining left right and centre over any thing you can think of

You can just choose to not be a part of the holiday. You can be a grown ass adult and say “I don’t want to receive or give gifts this year” or “I’m not liking hosting so let’s do it elsewhere” or any number of potential communication tactics that aren’t Snapping At Everyone For Any Given Reason

You can just, yknow, not participate instead of actively ruining the evening for everyone you’re supposed to care about?

Hello MagiQuest community, I am here finally with a happier, more historical post!

While going through a photo album, I found a picture of little me from 2003, playing in the water fountain in front of MagiQuest!

"But Ecto", you may say, "MagiQuest didn't open in Myrtle Beach until 2005!" And you would be right! Upon further observation of this grainy kodak, I noticed this sign above the outdoor ticket booth that reads "Butterfly--"

And I found this odd. Of course, being literally almost 2 years old, I didn't remember what the hell was there before MagiQuest ever opened. So after a very quick google search of "broadway at the beach butterfly".... Turns out, it was a Butterfly Pavilion!

damn, what dreamy architecture! Here's a side-by-side of both businesses when they inhabited the same building!

The building was built by Gateway Construction, and developed by Mozingo + Wallace in 2001, and with not much to go on, the Butterfly Pavilion closed sometime in 2005, with the first iteration of MagiQuest taking over in the summer of that year. (I found yelp reviews from 2006 asking if the Pavilion was open, and one reply said that it had "closed last summer")

Pictured above is the floor plan of the Butterfly Pavilion, and below are some pictures of the interior!

This explains why the ceiling of MagiQuest always had that weird grid pattern to it; It was originally a glass ceiling!

(I definitely think some of the half-walls in MagiQuest were these white ones repainted to be medieval-looking stone lol)

Anyways, that’s all I have for now. This has been in my drafts for a hot minute, I only now got around to adding photos lmao.

now i have showered and am treating myself to *house special ramen and a vanilla protein drink :)

sleep schedule will be all fucked tomorrow but i do not care because i am HUNGRY and i am not going to bed hungry.
