Today was the day of your final game of your college teams basketball game. You anxiously waited around for your dad to show, knowing he’d probably not. He always had some excuse like being busy at work, or having made plans already.
That was never the case though, it was always the fact that he was just pure lazy and didn’t give two fucks about you and the stuff you did.
It hurt you, it hurt you badly. Your step mom, Wanda, on the other hand was amazing. Stepping up to take his place any moment she could. You honestly didn’t believe how the woman married that man, but little did you know she only stayed for you.
Wanda had developed a small crush on you, then it grew. Anytime she watched one of your games, she’d have an aching throb between her thighs. Watching your skilled body move around the court, the sweat dripping down your body. The tone in your voice as you yelled at your teammates, trying to get their attention. You truly were the mvp of the team, and everyone adored you.
As you stood around by the door waiting for him, one of your teammates informed you that your couch wanted you in the locker room. You huffed and began to walk away from the entrance, until the door flew open. You craned your head around and there stood Wanda.
“Oh my god Wanda you made it!” You yelped as your arms flew around her body, your taller figure towering her. “I couldn’t miss my favorite girls final game, now could I?” She chuckled, earning a giggling and smile from you.
“I’d walk you to the gymnasium, but coach wants me. Plus the game starts soon, so I’ll see you after?” You asked. “Why don’t I come with you? I have something I wanna try on you.” She hummed, to which you shuddered and nodded with confusion.
What could she possibly want to try, were your thoughts while you two walked to the locker room. Her hand resting on your back, almost too close to your ass.
Once the two of you reached the locker room, you guided her into where your coach was. “Coach Romanoff?” You asked, the older woman turning around. “Oh hello Y/n, I needed to discuss some things with you before the game. Who’s this?” Natasha pointed to Wanda.
“Oh this is Wanda, my step-mom.” Wanda extended her hand to Natasha. “Nice to meet you..?” Wanda paused, “Natasha.” She responded. Wanda nodded, “Nice to meet you Natasha.” Natasha nodded and took her hand, “Like wise.”
After a while of Natasha discussing game plans with you, Wanda’s hands rested on your shoulders. Massaging the tense muscles. “Detka, you’re so tense. What’s wrong?” She quipped, and you nervously eyed the two women. “I- just nervous I guess.”
You lied as well as you could, you knew it wasn’t believable thought. It was hard to hide the fact you had a massive crush on your step-mom, alone with your coach. You knew it was wrong, all so very wrong.
Natasha and you messed around a couple times, quickly shutting it down when you two were almost caught by one of your teammates. You didn’t know that Wanda knew though.
She had caught you texting her multiple times about non-basketball related things, but chose not to say anything. She did feel rather protective of you, which is why she insisted on coming with you to see Nat before the game.
Wanda hummed, then glanced up at Natasha. “I know that’s not the reason, it’s because your step-mom’s hands are rubbing across your muscles and your filthy coach keeps eyeing you. Such a dirty girl you are.”
A gasp escaped your lips, Natasha eyes painfully trained on Wanda. “What do you mean by that, Wanda?” She asked sternly, her teeth gritted.
“Oh don’t act like a fool, I know that you know you get Y/n here to whore herself out to you.” Another gasped came from you, Wanda’s fingers found your lips and pushed past them.
“Hush you little slut, don’t you act surprised either.” Whimpers escaped your lips, a groan erupted from Natasha. Wanda laughed darkly, her fingers toying with your mouth.
“Why don’t we help you out before the game? We can’t have you this tense before the game, it is the final after all.” Wanda suggested, and Natasha thought for a second before agreeing.
Wanda retracted her fingers from your mouth, earning a whine from you. Her hands slide down to the hem of your jersey, pulling it over your head followed by your bra.
Her long fingers tugged at your perky nipples, using your spit that lingered on her fingers to wet them. Wanda looked up at Natasha, “Don’t just stand there, get over here.” Natasha hurriedly walked over to the bench, sitting down next to you.
Her lips attach to your nipple, biting and sucking. As she did this, Wanda’s hands worked at your tense arms and shoulders. It drove you crazy having your step-mom standing behind you, while your coach was latched to your nipple.
Natasha’s hands wandered across your stomach, tracing your abs. Her hand then slipped past the hem of your basketball shorts, teasing your clit through your soaked panties. Her mouth left your tit, capturing your lips.
Her tongue tangled with yours, and you were so caught up in the kiss you hadn’t noticed Wanda moving to sit on the opposite side of you. Wanda watched the two of you as Nat pumped her fingers into your pussy, and your tongues dancing with one another. She also hadn’t failed to realize the prominent bulge in Nat’s pants.
She kneeled down in front of Natasha, unbuckling her belt and tugging her pants down. Wanda’s hand rubbed Natasha through her boxers, causing her to groan into your mouth.
Wanda pulled her boxers down, her cock springing free from its restraints. Wanda admired the woman’s size, her hands pumped at Natasha cock a few times. Her tip leaked with pre-cum.
Wanda’s lips wrapped around the coach’s cock, sheathing her cock down her throat. The sight of Wanda sucking off your coach quickened the arrival of your orgasm. Nat removed her hands from your panties, making a show of her cleaning them off. Even having Wanda lick your arousal off them.
“C’mon baby, come help mommy suck your coach’s cock.” Wanda suggested, as she grabbed your hand leading you to kneel in front of Natasha. Your tongue ran down Natasha’s dick, as so did Wanda’s.
You both took turns sucking her off, but Natasha was most fond of the way Wanda pumped the base of her cock and sucked her balls, while you sucked the tip of her cock.
With one final squeeze at the base of her cock, Natasha’s cum spurted into your mouth, you taking everything she gave. “Open your mouth, let me see her cum in your mouth.” Wanda demanded, so you stuck your tongue out. “Spit it into my mouth.”
You complied, trying your best to spit Nat’s cum into her mouth. Once you did, Wanda’s lips latched to yours. Your lips moved hungry against each other, cum dripping down both of your mouths.
Natasha pulled you to your feet, pulling off your pants and panties then, onto her lap. Giving you a searing kiss on the lips. Wanda took hold of Natasha’s cock, guiding it to your pussy. As you sunk down on Natasha, you whined at her size.
She began to bounce you on her cock, while Wanda took your hand and guided you to her pussy. Natasha lips suckled at your nipples, her fingers dug into your hips. You tried your best to finger Wanda as well as possible, but Nat’s erratic pace made all thoughts in your head disappear.
“M’ gonna breed this little pussy.” Natasha husked against your chest, throwing all abilities to think out the door. “Here, come eat mommy out while Natasha fucks you.” Wanda spoke up, aching for her own release.
Natasha helped you lay down, spreading her legs and shoving her cock back into you. Wanda straddled your face, her pussy hovered over your mouth. Your tongue flattened out past your lips, and Wanda began using your tongue to get off.
Wanda and Natasha shared a kiss as they both used you to get them own orgasms. Wanda furiously rode your face, while Natasha’s pace became unsteady. Her cock twitched, then her cum spilt from her cock. Yours and Wanda’s orgasms following quickly behind.
You lapped at Wanda’s pussy, drinking up all of her arousal. Nat pulled her cock out of you, your hole clenching around nothing. You whine at the empty feeling. “Hush baby, you gotta get out of here quickly. The game is about to start.” Natasha said.
Wanda quickly hopped of your face, then helped you collect your clothing and redress. She pressed a quick kiss on your lips. “You do good out there and I’ll reward you later on. Okay?” She whispered in your ear and you nodded, then she sent you on your way.
“What did you say to her?” Natasha asked as her eyebrow cocked. “Don’t worry about it coach, you better get out there too.” Wanda teased, and they both slipped back into their clothes.
Your team winded up winning the game, and Wanda kept her promise. Natasha also followed along.

Two hearts, one timeline. Alexia putellas x reader
An age gap romance. Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“ We are delighted to introduce you to this young star. She is a 2 time world cup champion, the youngest ever to achieve that. A 2 time NWSL winner. A final’s MVP and just overall an inspiration. Welcome to the show.” said the reporter next to you. The studio was quiet and all you could hear was your heart beating in your ears. This wasn't the first time you were on TV but you were uncertain about the way the news you were about to deliver is gonna be perceived.
“ Thank you for having me.” you respond with a smile on your face.
“ After your recent NWSL win you were the talk of the sports world. Everybody is interested in whether you are gonna resign with your club or not. What do you say to those questions?”
“ Well I am sad to say that I will not resign with Seattle but very excited to say that a team I have been dreaming of joining has reached out to sign me. I have signed a 4 year contract with FC barcelona.”
“ Oh my god, that's exciting. Tell us how you feel at the moment.”
“ Well, I am very excited, but sad to say goodbye to my family in the states and at seattle. I think this challenge is gonna help me develop as a footballer and learn new styles.”
“ Well, we wish you good luck.”
“ Thank you.”
You exit the studio and the weight of the secret drops from your shoulder. You were gonna leave your home for a more competitive team and a shot at the chapion’s league.
Your move to Barcelona was smooth. You celebrated your run at your old club with the girls, took your flight the next day and landed in sunny Barcelona, the weather was as great as they all said. You then went directly to your new apartment. The time zone change weighed heavily on your body so you took a shower immediately, put your sheets in your new bed and laid down as soon as you could. You then opened your phone only for it to freeze due tha new messages and followers you received. You could see all the comments and messages your new teammates wrote on your post congratulating you on the signing and wishing well for you. This made you excited for your first day tomorrow.
When you woke up the next day you were nervous to say the least. You got ready, called a taxi and headed to the facility. You first got a tour of the facility which was empty because it was early. You met as much staff as you could, did your fitness and health test, a photoshoot, and shot some content. By the time you were done your teammates were done training too. You were ushered by the assistant coach to go to the field and meet everybody.
Your heart was beating like a drum. You were standing next to alexia putellas, aitana bonmati, lucy bronze, and mapi leon. Those people are more experienced and have more accolades than you.
“ Everybody please welcome our new signing from the US.” said your coach which caused all of them to start cheering.
“Hola a todos. Estoy emocionado de ser parte de este equipo, compartir el campo con todos ustedes y ganar algunos trofeos con ustedes.”
“Joder, hablas español y tus estadísticas son buenas, nos llevaremos muy bien.“ said patri putting her arm on your shoulder and guiding you inside.
“Si ella hablara catalán habríamos sido mejores amigas.” said aitana sarcastically.
The rest of the day went on great, you had lunch with the girls, you laughed with them, and exchanged stories. They welcomed you very well.
“ for a young girl you really carry yourself well.” said lucy
“ I had to grow up quickly.” you respond to her.
Your first month at Barcelona was amazing. You got on with the girls really well, training was going well, you had your first start within 2 weeks of your arrival and the fans were really happy with you after your first hattrick in the last match.
“Necesitamos celebrar tu primer mes exitoso con nosotros estrella.” said mapi while you were recovering in the gym. Estrella was the Spanish translation of the nickname the fans gave you when you were getting famous, which was stargirl. That nickname was used by everybody you knew, even the press. But from them it sounded different.
“ Yeah sure, just text me the details.” You responded.
You then went home, showered, and rested. You then got a message from the group chat.“ La terrazza. 8:00.”
Since they went there to celebrate you, you decided to show up and show out. You decided on a black maxi dress, heels, gold accessories, and a red lip.
You drove to the club and got there at 8 sharp. You went inside, and headed straight to the bar to order a drink. The girls started coming little by little, and by a few hours you were all jammed up dancing in the middle of the dance floor. However, your captain didn't join you; she instead opted to watch from the bar.
Alexia has been quiet and reserved around you. Maybe she didn't like you or maybe she was just a quiet person, you never really thought about it before.
“chicas voy a ir al baño.” You yell so that you can be heard over the loud music and exit the dance floor.
Surprisingly the bathroom was empty. You got your business done and went over to the mirror to fix your makeup.
“Parece que te lo estás pasando bien aquí en Barcelona..” said a voice from behind you which took you a minute to realize it was Alexia 's.
“ Capitana I am too drunk for Spanish right now.” You respond still facing the mirror
“ You look good. I mean happy in Barcelona.” She said nervously.
“ Well that's because of you and your friends out there. Actually it was more your friends than you since you hate me.” You respond l, alcohol making you braver than you usually are.
“ I could never hate you. I just can't control myself around you.” She says half whispering. “tengo que ir.” She added before she exited the bathroom.
“ This is definitely something I need to visit tomorrow when I am sober.” You say to yourself before joining the girls again. You were told that Alexia left which caused you to have more questions but you didn't give it much thought. You partied more with the girls before leaving.
Your head was pounding the next morning but you couldn't remember anything, only that you had a great time.
The following weeks were nothing short of spectacular. You were training well, winning every game, scoring every game, and you really built a community with the girls. But Alexia was giving you more space than usual which you couldn't understand why.
Jonathan could see that Alexia was cornering herself away from you so he decided to pair you with each other on everything under the excuse of her giving you more experience since she was older than you. She didn't talk when she was near you, she barely even touched you. This caused commotion in your brain. You lost sleep over why she despised you so much.
One day you had enough of the questions in your brain so you waited in the locker room knowing that she wouldn't come to it to avoid you. You stayed there af-ter all the girls left. After a while alexia entered the locker room
“ Have I ever done anything to offend you?” you ask as soon as you see her figure.
“ Mierda, me asustaste, pensé que no había nadie aquí.” she said taking a few steps back
“ capitana please just give a straight answer. What have I ever done to you?.”
“ We talked about this and my answer was nothing, the problem is in me.”
“ when did we talk about this i don't remember anything.”
“ that night at the party now will you please leave so that i can change and go home i am really tired.”
“ Alexia, this is eating away at me. All I want is for us to be friends or just teammates. Tell me what I did so that we can get past it.”
“ You did nothing, just get over it. You have plenty of friends.”
“No puc fer això ara mateix, és massa jove i hauria de proteger-la de mi” she whispers in catalan and leave without looking at you.
You didn't understand catalan but it was close to Spanish which you were fluent in so when you heard her words you could remember them easily. After she left you reached for your phone and translated her words. “ I can't do this right now. He is too young and should protect her from me.”
Alexia’s words shocked you. You felt dizzy and couldn't focus. You never realized that alexia could have anything for you except hate. You loved her and admired her for the player and person she is. You looked up to her kind heart and intelligent brain. But no matter what you thought about it you needed her approval, her attention, and her focus to be on you as much as you were on her. That's why her distance from you left you puzzled.
You knew that you couldn't stay like that, not when your brain was filled with questions that needed answering.
You left the training facility, and headed straight to Alexia's house.
Before knocking on her door your knees were weak and your brain was quiet. She opened the door mere moments later.
“ What did you mean by protecting me from you?” you asked as soon as she opened the door.
“ What are you doing here?” she asked.
“ What did you mean, alexia?”
“ i don't want to talk about this.”
“ well i do it's the only thing i have been thinking about.”
You force your way inside and she closes the door after you
“ You are not this passive aggressive. I know you. I heard alot about you. This thing you are hiding from me is killing me.” you say to her once she is in front of you.
“ Believe me when I say that I am protecting you.”
“ it's not your choice capitana. What are you protecting me from?”
“ I am protecting you from my feelings for you god damn it. We can't be together and that is all I have been thinking about. I have been thinking about you, your body, your laughter, your eyes. It’s driving me insane.” she yells as she slams the wall behind you.
You weren't shocked, you managed to keep your calm. You held onto her hand which was still on the wall. You backed up a little bit and didn't say a word.
“ this can't happen, you are 23, i am 30. I am older than you. I outrank you in the team. I just…”
“ i dont care.” you interrupt her still holding on to her arm. “ capitana i dont give a fuck. I want you. I need you. Do you want me?” you add.
“More than you'll ever know.” she whispers.
The air was still. The tension was high. You feel your body unintentionally move towards alexia. Your face was millimeters away from her you could feel her breath on your lips. You somehow got brave enough to kiss her. The kiss cut short because she pulled away.
“ please capitana i want this. I want you.”
She then kisses you deeply. Her need for you was apparent. She took control of all of you, not just your lips. She picked you up and walked towards her bedroom all while kissing you. She then threw you on her bed.
“ Are you sure estrella.” whispers
“ I never wanted anything more in this world.”

Strange house - DGM doujin fangame guide book scans
so in January I found a physical copy of a 2010 d.gray-man doujin visual novel called Strange house by the doujin group MOONLIGHT CAFE. the game is a romance visual novel where you play as Lavi and can date Kanda while out on a mission with him to, you guessed it, a strange house.
the game is completely in Japanese and almost all mention of it online has gone away as it's a 14 year old game, so suffice to say finding anything about this game has been difficult. it won't be a complete mystery now though as I have the game and the guide book!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so... let's look inside this guide book!
before we crack it open, here's the scans of the DVD cover slip. the outside is similar to the guide book (see above) but the inside is an adorable collection of chibis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now let's look at the guide book! all of these scans are at a high dpi so open them up in a new tab if you'd like to see them up close. also, most of this is in Japanese and I won't be able to translate a majority of it. if you'd like to translate it, please feel free to and add it to the post!
Tumblr media
D.Gray-man LaviYu Only
Windows only sound novel type adventure game
(side note- visual novels are usually called adventure games in Japan. sound novel is another term for them that was more popular to use years ago)
Tumblr media
The next two pages go over the system menus- the main menu, the CG gallery (where you can view cut scene artwork), in game menu, save & load, and the options menus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now that we've gone over the system, it's on to the character bios! Lavi is up first as he's the player character followed by Kanda and the finder Doma.
Tumblr media
(somehow Kanda ends up in a bridal gown in this game)
Tumblr media
(she has doll arms and legs? it says she's the other guy's sister)
Tumblr media
(I have no clue what her name is suppose to be. Yuno Moreta? Yunoo Moreeta?? I'm guessing it's trying to be like Yu Kanda??? Allen's bio here mentions him being the 14th and that he doesn't appear much as he wasn't assigned to this mission)
Tumblr media
(Lenalee's basically says that she's an exorcist and Komui's younger sister, but mentions that she might be seen on the mission in front of Lavi? the guy on the right was apparently meant to be something like a love rival in the MVP [think beta build] for the game)
Tumblr media
after the character bios is the route guides!
while not every visual novel has choices or multiple endings, visual novels that do have multiple endings refer to them as "routes" or "scenarios", i.e. the series of choices you make to reach each ending. this game has 4 routes, each with a different artist.
Tumblr media
scenario A is called Dolly and written by 響夜 and illustrated by Guriko.
Tumblr media
scenario B is called Coming Home and written by 響夜 and illustrated by Seiko and others.
Tumblr media
scenario C is.... something about a bracelet? it's written by 秋吉 and illustrated by Bonnu.
Tumblr media
scenario D is called lonely travels / loneliness while traveling and is written by 木花 and illustrated by ネコ科ノコ.
to be honest this is a lot more than I was expecting! we're already at 7 team members and haven't touched the programming or music aspects. I also have no clue how long this game is - there's only a few choices listed here to get each route so each ending could be 5k words (short) or over 50k words (long).
Tumblr media
now onto staff!
sadly, I won't be able to translate these as it's a majority kanji, but here they are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and that's it! there's a lot of cute art here that I hope will be saved on the internet now that the sites for MOONLIGHT CAFE's games are mostly defunct.
personally as a visual novel developer I find it amazing that they were able to not only make such a good looking fan visual novel in 2010 with multiple endings but to get so many people on board and make it all work out. and then to make a physical release of it! (side note- I'm still unsure what engine this was made in! I'm thinking kirikiri but I'm not sure)
I have the game set up and am able to play it, so at some point I'll share some footage of it on this tag on my blog. I'm hesitant to put the exe online as this was a paid game at one point and the doujin circle seems to be disbanded, but I might if there's interest (is this considered a no-no for doujins? I'm unfamiliar on etiquette for doujins, so some advice on that would be appreciated if you have any)

Death from puss in boots is here and guides Jack as he’s fresh from drowning and before becoming frost and is stuck in limbo. No other shrek related things come up at all, it’s just him.

Jack started out as aroace bc projection but now has a gf (Tooth) and an ex bf (Shadowbent). He’s still ace tho
jack and pitch continue being mirrors to each other but this time bring in past lives and things get super messy (and traumatic for jack)
Shadowbent is the mvp bc I love him
tooth and Shadowbent become friends despite Jack’s awkwardness around Shadowbent (they all become pretty close, considering everything)
bunny isn’t an alien but still has all the trauma of the books because I like to make my favorite characters suffer
bunny was a father and had a little brother that looked like Jack… just a smidge
north and bunny are married and Jack has no clue. This leads to shenanigans.

Bunny gets trapped in weird FNAF scenario where all of the animatronics are of the guardians

Nightlight is implied to be a mass murderer
north gets stuck in a time loop and is so tired by the end of it, he takes a nap for a month

pitch steals Jack’s intestine
Tooth has an identity crisis and breaks the multiverse
north lowkey adopts Jack

How to Build Software Projects for Beginners
Tumblr media
Building software projects is one of the best ways to learn programming and gain practical experience. Whether you want to enhance your resume or simply enjoy coding, starting your own project can be incredibly rewarding. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started.
1. Choose Your Project Idea
Select a project that interests you and is appropriate for your skill level. Here are some ideas:
To-do list application
Personal blog or portfolio website
Weather app using a public API
Simple game (like Tic-Tac-Toe)
2. Define the Scope
Outline what features you want in your project. Start small and focus on the minimum viable product (MVP) — the simplest version of your idea that is still functional. You can always add more features later!
3. Choose the Right Tools and Technologies
Based on your project, choose the appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and tools:
Web Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, or Django
Mobile Development: Flutter, React Native, or native languages (Java/Kotlin for Android, Swift for iOS)
Game Development: Unity (C#), Godot (GDScript), or Pygame (Python)
4. Set Up Your Development Environment
Install the necessary software and tools:
Code editor (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Atom, or Sublime Text)
Version control (e.g., Git and GitHub for collaboration and backup)
Frameworks and libraries (install via package managers like npm, pip, or gems)
5. Break Down the Project into Tasks
Divide your project into smaller, manageable tasks. Create a to-do list or use project management tools like Trello or Asana to keep track of your progress.
6. Start Coding!
Begin with the core functionality of your project. Don’t worry about perfection at this stage. Focus on getting your code to work, and remember to:
Write clean, readable code
Test your code frequently
Commit your changes regularly using Git
7. Test and Debug
Once you have a working version, thoroughly test it. Look for bugs and fix any issues you encounter. Testing ensures your software functions correctly and provides a better user experience.
8. Seek Feedback
Share your project with friends, family, or online communities. Feedback can provide valuable insights and suggestions for improvement. Consider platforms like GitHub to showcase your work and get input from other developers.
9. Iterate and Improve
Based on feedback, make improvements and add new features. Software development is an iterative process, so don’t hesitate to refine your project continuously.
10. Document Your Work
Write documentation for your project. Include instructions on how to set it up, use it, and contribute. Good documentation helps others understand your project and can attract potential collaborators.
Conclusion
Building software projects is a fantastic way to learn and grow as a developer. Follow these steps, stay persistent, and enjoy the process. Remember, every project is a learning experience that will enhance your skills and confidence!

April let the sunshine in! I was able to get outside to write/outline often and it was so healing to do so, especially after dreary and difficult March. The true MVP of April has definitely been my white board. I have been using it make great progress, so much so, that I even bought myself a new mini one...my favorite tool now for sure!
This month was all about recovery and recalibration. I felt very "off" after being so sick and losing so much momentum on my project in March. I had to take a deep breath and a step back to see where to jump back into things. If March taught me anything, it's how much Follow Me means to me. I'm committed. That being said, looking at things with "fresh" eyes...I could see that I seemed to be stuck. Uh-oh.
What did I get up to?
Tried to get unstuck?? Oh boy. I had to be honest with myself coming back to outlining. Since this is my first time seriously outlining a novel, I have been testing out a variety of outlining methods. Unfortunately, no matter which one I tried...I found I could only plot up to the midpoint. I had half a story. Welp...
I zoomed in. I saw I was stuck and so I told myself, okay...I just need to generate new ideas. I will go back to what I do know and expand and hone that and hopefully that will spark something? So I did just that. I began writing scene cards on Reedsy Studio for all the scenes I had planned for ACT 2 A. "Living" in those scenes did help...but also raised more questions that I needed to research and answer. This brought me to a point where I saw I couldn't answer the questions being raised in ACT 2 without first revisiting ACT 1, so...
I went to an expert. I have been guided thus far by some of the best writers and editors on the internet, bless them for sharing their knowledge! This time I looked to Alex Sokoloff, screen-writer-turned-novelist. I had bought Alex's book, Stealing Hollywood, and was fascinated by her approach. Used Alex's book to walk me through ACT 1 a second time, asking myself questions as I went against the key points Alex marked as essential in ACT 1. What was missing? What was I doing well? I wanted to answer the questions I had raised for myself in ACT 2, so after finishing my second pass of the first ACT, I continued on, using the same process on ACT 2. Some questions were answered (yay!), and others still remain. It's possible they can't be answered until I learn more about ACT 2 B...which is where I am stuck.
What worked well?
Reading Alex Sokoloff's Stealing Hollywood. As I just mentioned above, Alex's book has been a huge help to me. I really seem to connect with her approach, which treats novel writing visually, as if you were creating a movie. That's exactly how my ideas show themselves to me, extremely visually...so I just super resonate with what I learning through Alex.
What was fun?
Using my white board :) I'm serious. I feel like a salesman, but: everyone should have one! lol! There's just something so freeing for my creativity being about to write messy and quickly across the board...erasing when I want, and moving on. I take pictures of what I come up with, and then start over. Works great!
What do I want to become great at?
Having a comprehensive strategy. I start, I stop. I go at something from one angle...then drop it in favor of another. My thoughts are random and scattered. I have ideas, but they are all out of order. Character development one day, plot the next. I am all over the place friends. It's hard to make visible progress this way...and my brain really wants the reward of visible progress. Instead of living in this 25% of everything mode, I really want to come up with a concise plan, or strategy if you will, for tackling the second half of my novel.
What am I grateful for?
The sunshine. I can't tell you how much of a difference the sunny days are making for me. It's been a long gray winter, to see real signs of spring gives me that light hopeful feeling in my heart...hey you actually can write a whole novel!
Mr. Loaf being my #1 fan. Every time I sit down to outline, every time, Mr. Loaf magically appears. As he sits and lays beside me, I imagine him cheering me on. His purrs of support were just what I needed this month, aw!
If you've read this far, please know how much your support means to me :) Send me a message or leave me a comment if there is anything I touched on here that you would like to know more about!

10 Benefits of Investing in a Custom Software Solution
Businesses are constantly on the lookout for new and better technologies that may streamline and quicken their processes. When doing so, organizations frequently use pre-existing software solutions.  However, it's not always easy to find a single piece of software that can handle all of their needs. That's why it's common for businesses to put money into a few different lines.
If you need a unique solution that is tailored to your business's needs, consider investing in custom software development. Using their unique needs as a guide, developers of custom software create programs for businesses and individuals. The banking sector, for instance, employs highly specialized custom software to facilitate consumer access while shielding private information with cutting-edge security measures.
In this article, we'll discuss how custom software development can improve a company's efficiency and bottom line. OK, let's have a peek at it.
Top Reasons to Choose Custom Software Development
Software product customization is a solution that can increase productivity. In addition, adaptability and scalability let you stay ahead of the curve and get an edge over rivals. Your company could benefit in the long run from its use in managing business operations and establishing relationships with external customers, partners, and internal assets.
1. Long-Term Savings
Investing in a software development project may be expensive. However, you won't need to spend everything right away. Custom software development lets you build your product in phases. The minimum viable product (MVP) approach could be taken initially to reduce development costs.
Putting your company plan and software prototype to the test is an appealing prospect. When you're done, you'll have the option of moving forward with the development of a full-fledged software application. While investing in custom software development solutions may seem prohibitively expensive at first, doing so can really end up saving you money in the long run. The necessity for long-lasting solutions suggests that tailor-made software development may be the way to go.
2. Software Solutions Tailored to Your Needs
It will be difficult for businesses to find a one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to technology, especially when it comes to software solutions. Mobile apps offer the best chance of finding a solution that will work for all organizations. In addition, each company pursues its goals and conducts operations according to its own unique plan and approach.
Therefore, you might require specialized software solutions to demonstrate that your business is one of a kind and establish yourself as a frontrunner in your field. With the help of bespoke software development, you will be able to modify software products so that they correspond to your business strategy and fulfill all of your requirements.
3. Better Security and Dependability
Maintaining a safe and reliable system is crucial to any business's long-term prosperity. As a result, businesses must ensure their software is more secure. With custom software development solutions, you know your data is safe.
Also, it might help you decide which data-security technology to use and which is best for your business, as well as how to incorporate that technology into your application. Most of the time, clients will trust you more if you use a higher level of security.
4. Flexibility & Scalability
The world of business is always transforming. Therefore, for businesses to stay up with how the market is shifting, they need to adapt. Custom software solutions provide you the flexibility to make adjustments, add new features, update your product, or seek assistance to meet the requirements of your expanding business as it grows and evolves.
Scalability also enables you to prepare for expansion in the future, which allows you to expand your business while simultaneously maintaining the viability of the software application.
5. Maintenance and Technical Support
It is common practice to form collaborations with software development vendors to create custom software. They'll assemble expert programmers to plan, code, and test your program for you.
Also, they employ a specialized development staff for ongoing technical support and app upkeep. Since they created it, they know it inside and out. This means they can keep it running smoothly and assist you in fixing bugs or other problems as they arise.
Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are a form of contract that may be included with your vendor contracts to guarantee a certain level of service. The bottom line is that consistent technical support helps keep your company processes running efficiently and effectively, all while minimizing the amount of time you lose to updates.
6. Product Uniqueness
It's becoming increasingly important that businesses have a distinct identity, which can assist them to strengthen their unique selling proposition. By investing in custom software development, your business can meet the needs of its customers and stay true to its character.
Teams specializing in custom software development can produce applications that help businesses achieve their goals. It allows you to select the software development methodology and cutting-edge innovations that will give your app a leg up on the competition. Plus, it gives businesses the chance to develop brand-new items to meet the surging demand.
7. Integrates Easily
Business custom software development has the added benefit of fitting naturally into your existing processes. When a software product is tailor-made to satisfy a company's unique needs, it works in tandem with the rest of its existing applications without causing disruptions.
Not only that, but it will also aid in the optimization of your business process and the improvement of the efficiency of your business workflow. Saving money, speeding up operations, and avoiding frequent defects and other issues during the integration with your existing software product are all possible benefits of custom software solutions.
8. Boost Return On Investment (ROI)
Custom software development services provide exactly what the client needs. So, you won't have to shell out money for unused services or licenses. Therefore, it may end up saving money over time. Furthermore, you will be able to acquire various capabilities for your application that may not be available to your competitors.
As a result, it can bolster your USP (unique selling proposition) and provide you with a significant edge over the competition. Through the use of niche-specific customization in software product development, you may better serve your intended customer. You can expect higher long-term returns and greater consumer participation.
9. Enhance Productivity
No one can deny the positive impact software has on worker output, especially when that software is tailored to meet the specific needs of a certain company. It boosts productivity and gives workers more assurance in their abilities.
In addition, the right software could make it easier for your staff to get their work done faster. It could improve resource management, boost the efficiency of operational procedures, and provide additional financial benefits to your organization.
10. Great User Satisfaction
When it comes to the level of happiness experienced by end users, bespoke software will always score higher than generic software, regardless of whether it was developed for external or internal users.
How? The response is plain to see. It is customized to fulfill their technical requirements to suit their business needs. In addition to this, it is simple to use and was developed to reduce the complexity of running a business, improving efficiency, and turning it into a more profitable investment.
Wrapping Up
There are numerous upsides to investing in bespoke software development. Depending on your company's specific requirements, you can make changes to meet different demands. The ability to control every aspect of your app's operation and make whatever tweaks you see fit is another potential benefit.
Businesses need to invest time and resources into creating and designing software that meets their specific needs. But before you make any moves, you should thoroughly evaluate your business. Custom software development is a great option because experienced developers can quickly assess your business needs and determine the best course of action.

Lean vs. Waterfall Business Models: Choosing the Right Approach for Your Venture
Tumblr media
When starting or scaling a business, one of the most critical decisions you’ll make is choosing the operational approach that aligns with your goals, resources, and industry demands. Two popular frameworks that often guide entrepreneurs are the Lean and Waterfall business models. Understanding their principles, advantages, and challenges can empower you to select the model that best suits your vision and market.
What is the Lean Business Model?
The Lean business model prioritizes efficiency, adaptability, and continuous improvement. It focuses on creating value for the customer while minimizing waste. Inspired by lean manufacturing principles, particularly those pioneered by Toyota, this model has become a cornerstone of modern startups and innovation-driven enterprises.
Key Principles of the Lean Model:
Validated Learning: Experimentation and customer feedback drive product and process development.
Build-Measure-Learn Cycle: Rapid prototyping allows for iterative improvements.
Customer-Centric Approach: Emphasis on understanding and addressing customer needs.
Waste Reduction: Eliminating activities and resources that don’t add value.
Advantages of Lean:
Cost Efficiency: By focusing on essential features and avoiding overproduction, businesses conserve resources.
Flexibility: Quick pivots are possible when market demands or customer preferences shift.
Speed to Market: Minimal Viable Products (MVPs) enable businesses to launch quickly and refine over time.
Challenges of Lean:
High Uncertainty: Iterative processes may result in unpredictability.
Resource Intensity: Constant feedback loops and adjustments require dedicated time and effort.
Scalability Issues: Lean is ideal for early-stage businesses but may need adaptation for large-scale operations.
What is the Waterfall Business Model?
The Waterfall business model, rooted in traditional project management, follows a linear and sequential approach. This model is structured around defined stages, where each phase must be completed before moving to the next. While it originated in industries like construction and software development, it’s also applicable to businesses requiring meticulous planning and execution.
Key Principles of the Waterfall Model:
Sequential Progression: Projects move from concept to completion in defined steps.
Detailed Documentation: Comprehensive plans, budgets, and timelines are created upfront.
Defined Deliverables: Clear milestones ensure all tasks are completed in order.
Stability: A fixed plan minimizes changes during the process.
Advantages of Waterfall:
Predictability: Clear timelines and budgets enhance planning and stakeholder confidence.
Quality Assurance: Extensive documentation ensures thorough testing and evaluation.
Ease of Implementation: Ideal for projects with well-defined requirements.
Challenges of Waterfall:
Rigidity: Limited flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions.
Delayed Feedback: Customer input often comes late, increasing the risk of misalignment.
Time-Intensive: Sequential phases may lead to longer development cycles.
How to Choose Between Lean and Waterfall
The choice between Lean and Waterfall depends on your business’s nature, goals, and industry.
Lean is Ideal For:
Startups and innovative ventures with evolving market demands.
Projects where customer feedback is essential.
Teams prioritizing speed and adaptability.
Waterfall is Ideal For:
Established businesses with fixed goals and budgets.
Industries like construction, healthcare, or manufacturing, where precision is critical.
Long-term projects requiring robust planning.
Conclusion
Both the Lean and Waterfall business models offer unique advantages and come with their own set of challenges. While the Lean model fosters innovation and flexibility, the Waterfall approach ensures stability and predictability. Entrepreneurs should carefully evaluate their project’s scope, resources, and objectives before committing to a framework. By aligning your operational strategy with your business’s needs, you set the stage for sustainable growth and success.

Corentin for the character breakdown post? :)
How I feel about this character MY DUDE MY GUY, love him so much. It was really funny bc I didn't know that the NPC gossip the chapter before the "you can go to Hyzante or Aesfrost" choice was supposed to hint which character you would recruit (Lyla's "strapping young ice mage" or the "recently arrested salt smuggler"), so when he showed up as a playable character on the map I was like ?? bc I for some reason thought he was going to be a minor antagonist, and instead Corentin just straight-up defects to House Wolffort and I'm like, oh okay, nice. He hits a lot of the "ah damn, that's my type" checkboxes so I more or less loved him immediately too.
All the people I ship romantically with this character While I do have some Triangle Strategy ships, I don't ship Corentin with anyone really.
My non-romantic OTP for this character Love the weird friendship he has with Erador, wish we could have seen him interact with the other characters a bit more too. His interactions with Geela would have been interesting (and given that they're both researchers of a fashion, I could see them getting along), and I think Corentin and Narve would have hit it off for the shared love of magic study. Corentin probably develops a friendship with Hossabara too, if only thanks to Erador dragging him out of his studies for a drink from time to time (she also probably figures out when to tell Erador to knock it off, and cuts off Corentin's drinks earlier bc she knows he gets drunk faster). Corentin's entire approach to unmelting ice research is initially to make weapons, so I imagine he has at least a professional friendship with Jens as well. Given that ice is technially a mineral, I think he and Giovanna would hit off a really chaotic "scientific colleague friends" partnership as well.
My unpopular opinion about this character The TriStrat fandom is small, and mostly devoid of petty nonsense, so I have no hot takes regarding Corentin. I did, at one point, see some strategy guide type stuff saying he wasn't very good in battle, but that was early on and very shortly after the game's release, and given that every single playable character can be used very well in battle if you know how their battle mechanics work, I think this was just "game hasn't been out long enough, and the people rushing to write guides aren't good at figuring out how to use every character in such a short time", bc everyone has their own playstyle, so while Corentin was one of my consistent MVPs for almost every map, I could see how people who don't rely on mages in fantasy srpg/trpgs would struggle to figure him out at first. He, Anna, Frederica, and Archibald were like, my most powerful units for my first run though.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon. As stated earlier, I would have loved to see more interactions between characters. I understand why, given the style of writing, there aren't more interactions, but still, I think it would have fleshed out a lot of potential characterization, not just for Corentin, but for the entire cast.

I just clocked In 100 hours of omega striking so I present:
My silly little guide on how I pick who I’m playing.
yeah. It’s so complicated cause I like to complicate things. Ima go down row by row.
anyways: here is a visual guide:
Tumblr media
(Sorry for the bad quality)
Estelle: need I say more. She is my ultimate main. I play her all the given time. I picked her up as soon as I could buy her. I’m not sure what possessed me to pick her over any other character but I’m so glad I did because she fits my play style extremely perfectly. Best part is, I can play her both as forward and as goalie, so I can always queue up as flex and not need to worry my sorry head about absolutely failing to do anything.
Foward mains: People I will play at any given time as long as I’m playing foward. Self explanatory. I would actually die if I played them as a goalie though. Especially Zentaro. Playing as him only to see the goalie leave makes me wonder why I didn’t play Estelle that round. I could play Asher goalie but honestly it’s just a lot more fun getting close and personal with the opposing teams goalie, only to bombard ‘em with my primary.
Goalie mains: People I will play at any given time as long as I’m goalie. Kind of like the same thing from above. Except I’d be willing to play Kai forward (lmao I’m all over the place when I play him). Rune forward?? Not so much. I’m kinda nervous when playing him so I stay as close to the goal as possible (but not that close. I don’t what it to be a problem)
Flex mains: people I will play at any given time period. Idk what the developers put on Dubu but it makes Dubu forward be absolutely terrifying. He is sooooo good. I just resent my picked up Rasmus after winning and getting MVP against a bunch of AI, so more time needs to be spend grinding him, but he is super fun so far
Everyone else: the chances of you seeing me play them are minimal. Suffer or rejoice, whichever applies to you.
So yeah.. that’s it! Hopefully I clock 100 more hours of playing this silly people game which is just beyblade kid air hockey!!
