Pure Feeling Playlist

Okay, so I had someone on twitter express interest in the songs I have for my playlist for Pure Feeling and figured, yeah, I could share it. I don’t have a spotify (I don’t like the interface plus the music selection is way too limited for my taste) and the playlist itself is on Youtube Music. It’s also private because I don’t really want random people seeing it or other people messing with it if I unlocked it, so I’ll just type up all the songs here with links that way y’all can scroll through and listen to what you want.

I understand there’s probably an easier and faster way to do this probably, but hey, with the quarantine I clearly have some extra time on my hands so why not?

Though, couple of warnings:

1. It’s LOOOOOOONG (it’s 300+ songs in total) (don’t worry I’m gonna put this under a cut)

2. Some of the songs aren’t going to make much sense in terms of the AU. This is for two reasons: a) Some of the songs allude to events/characters that haven’t shown up in the story yet (there’s a LOT of songs regarding Mara’s father) and b) some of them are just general songs that I use to get a basis of emotion/vibe when writing particular types of scenes.

3. My music tastes are all over the place (and this doesn’t even include some of the other genres I listen to just because it doesn’t fit this AU lol)

But this playlist is my main muse and is probably one of the best insights to my process/inner thoughts so, without further ado.....my full playlist.

last band i saw live: i almost went to splendor in the grass last year with family, which wasn't only cool since i’ve never been out of the state since i immigrated - the festival was in queensland, which is around a two hour flight from victoria - but the lineup was pretty fuckin lit too! the xx, haim, peking duk, tash sultana, future islands, vallis alps, a.b original,, i was p excited! unfortunately my uncle fell ill and so they had to give the tickets to extended family :( otherwise, i haven't been to a single concert in my life

adventure: fav song is ok for sure!!!! ok has sooooo much significance to me and helped me through so much. plus its the first madeon song i ever heard. as for least favorite, id say nonsense simply bc i feel like its a little out of place within the flow of the album?? it’s preceded and followed by songs that are a bit darker in sound and nature so it feels out of place to me ;v;

worlds: fav song is sad machine, i love it sooooo much its so perfect especially on vinyl aaaaaaaah….. my least fav is probably goodbye to a world bc it gives me the feels. stop. porter why. no.

true colors: PAPERCUT OR DAISY GAH I LOVE THEM SO MUCH AND ILLUSION IS SO PRETTY i love papercut and illusion are so unbelievably well made and sound so beautiful… i could listen to them all day hahaha……… least fav is bumble bee bc its too harsh on my ears so no orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr transmission bc i cant stand the concept and its rlly dark.

i think about a Shelter movie:

I was really bored in German on Thursday cause I finished my final early, so I started messing around with my school planner and writing stuff.

I was thinking like what would a Shelter movie look like? And not just Rin's story, but what if that was connected to the rest of the Adventure/Worlds canon?

So I plotted out a hypothetical movie kind of like something like Interstella 5555 but different?

So I’m going to talk about it [IN A VERY LONG POST] and will be kind of vague sometimes, but it parallels the Shelter Live Tour setlist:

the story revolves around this narrative of sharing emotions and experiences with the world and it opens with the creation of said worlds it is a tribute to and crossing over of the worlds and adventure album’s characters and stories

Intro: It begins with darkness. I imagine sound waves spreading out of the darkness. A sparkle of light peeks out of the shadows with every one. As every wave rings through the darkness from the light, this is the sound of the piano. More light pierces through with every pulse which is the synth sound following the piano. Darkness soon comes to be replaced with beautiful colors. Vibrant oranges and blues and purples and pinks and greens and everything you’d see at a Porter or Madeon visual force. Their respective color aesthetic bleeds out into this darkness. These colors initially explode a little space out of each other, but eventually start swirling and mixing as the song builds and more sounds layer over. Worlds are being born from the swirling masses and as all of these different worlds are being born and briefly viewed, [like the characters from madeon's music video trilogy, the fresh static snow deer etc like the fictional characters formed through their sets], the focus is pulled into the place where these colors start to swirl in aquamarines and navies, Shelter becomes the focus.

Shelter: Rin’s story unfolds basically like in the music video but about halfway through the song, like how the live edit indicates, that BlazBlue character from Divinity changes certain things in Rin's virtual world and Rin’s music video ends slightly differently. Her story closes like in the music video, but this crossing over w/ Taokaka [she is completely independent of her Blazblue canon here because i dont know anything about it lol] into Rin’s world is foreshadowing Rin's involvement with all the characters of the Adventure/Worlds canon. I envision Taokaka having a pretty big role to compensate for me not knowing her source material lol

Pay No Mind x Easy: And then the focus jumps to another area of this moving universe where Asteria and Icarus from the Madeon music video trilogy notice something very strange crossing over into their world while trying to solve the mystery of their city. [I didn’t really think this part through but Maki from the "Easy" music video find herself interacting with their world?]

Eventually, through all these crossovers in the set like how all the songs are weaved together, every character is introduced, joined together, interacted and becomes bonded as a family.

Maybe theres even some conflict between some characters along the way?

Rin becomes concerned about Maki’s morals affecting the band of people she’s grouped up?

The Fresh Static Snow Deer/Shaman grows too powerful and begins to lose himself to their sad and lonely nature? (Which could ensue with Rin and them singing Sad Machine empathetically together as a duet? lol)

Asteria and Icarus meet the girls from “Lionhearted” and conflict ensues?

Taokaka deals with knowing there is an end of the world and something big coming but keeps it a secret from the rest?

The girls from “Lionhearted” start to question their toxic cycle of life? [OK/Lionhearted]

Everyone having fun [Flicker] but realizing the FSS deer might be having a problem?

Feels ensue and some self-esteem boosting/picking-self up/friend supporting happens lol [Finale x Cut The Kid] Rin thinks that maybe she’s found a new family? FSS shaman smiles for once?

Maybe theres a little power tripping from everybody now that they’ve discovered how they can change the world around them? Rin can make IRL glitches etc.

Everyone discovers why they were created. Origins of the universe etc? Definitely involves chevron/diamond/kaomoji-sthetic. Perhaps actually meeting Porter and Hugo as divine figures might be too cheesy lol

Lots of stuff happens on the way basically. A Sea of Voices and Pixel Empire are discovered. Purposes are found. Icarus grows wings. They are destined to all do something great together. They are destined to share their stories across the universe.

But inevitably their worlds are threatened by an almost apocalyptic force. [idk what it is but maybe its chaos? or some abstract like embodiment of boredom and no creativity lol MAYBE IT WAS TAOKAKA THE WHOLE TIME WAITING FOR THE INEVITABLE END OF THE WORLD SO SHE SPED IT UP OR SOMETHING] *cues goodbye to a world* [Everyone learns that Taokaka had something to do with the end of the world?] And then everyone dies. But its a false death. (Like how everyone thought that the set ended after a farewell-heavy performance of gtaw) Everyone is now floating in darkness. There is no color. Scraps of what remained float out as well. Occasional cloudy wisps of the technicolor oranges and grass tufts from floating islands riddle space. Rin's eyes begin to glow aquamarine. She desperately tries to swim out to her friends but it's so hard with the swallowing darkness. She cries. Her tears float out into space and glow. She calls out to her friends before almost blacking out completely. The rest of the characters' eyes begin to glow as well. They all call out for each other. In the darkness. Color begins to restore in the darkness with everyones tears and eyes. Rin bringing everyone together without knowing it. I imagine she ends up bringing everyone from Adventure and Worlds together because her world, Shelter, is the embodiment of all of theirs. Through reuniting everyone, the universe is reborn and starts to reform in all its vibrant beauty. [LANGUAGE STARTS PLAYING] And this whole sequence is the universe ringing back into existence but eventually every character has to return to their own world and so theres more feels RIP Everything ends with them looking out to the sky in hopes that their paths may cross again. [Maybe everyone now has a tattoo on their body of the Shelter logo after being reborn? Or different colored eyes?] Rin is back in her virtual world. The "movie" closes with a crayon drawing slipping off her table of all her friends. and like idk i was very very bored lol thinking about writing a fanfic or something about it
