thinking about a fantasy tonaegiri au where byakuya claims to be a descendant of dragons (but looks almost completely human) and kyoko looks human but is actually some kind of homunculus/artificially made being (has some funny things going on vis a vis her organs and internals) and makoto is a totally normal guy who thinks he has a totally normal boyfriend and girlfriend

how to be yourself (who is that, anyways?)
He didn’t deserve an ending just yet. There was too much to fix. / Nobody was healed and only more wounded were going to join them, but… they’d heal. They’d do it together. / Would peace be an option for all of them? / Nothing was right. / "We can make things right."
A story of survival after death, and how to forge something new after having destroyed the world. Where every awakening is a disaster waiting to happen, but not an irreparable one. Unlikely friendships, growing bonds, and some semblance of happiness; if they can bring themselves to believe they deserve it, anyways.
tldr; the remnants of despair becoming beacons of hope again, not for society, but for themselves.

I'm a little lost on how the 77th Class can atone for their crimes as Remnants of Despair by . . . living on Jabberwock Island for the rest of their lives, far from the main population, far from the people they might've hurt and even killed?
It felt a bit like they're . . . running away from what they had done.
Please don't get me wrong! I really loved it when they returned to help Makoto and his friends to deal with all those soldiers and stopping Ryota from spreading the Hope video. I really loved their moment to shine, but I just . . . wanted them to do . . . more, I guess?
I wanted them to stay around and help the general public to heal from the Tragedy. Hm, maybe they don't need to actually show their faces in public, but at least help Makoto and his friends rebuild society from behind closed doors?
. . .
They're isolating themselves in Jabberwock Island to 'atone', they say. But I'm not sure how exactly that's atoning. To atone means to actively make amends and reparations for the people you've hurt, yes?
You know, wasn't the 78th Class's killing game publicly aired by Junko to make the people outside turn to despair? In a way, 78th Class had unwillingly became an instrument of despair (similar to the 77th Class, but with the method of brainwashing).
The survivors from the 78th Class decided to actively work to rebuild the broken world. See from the Epilogue of the first game:
"If there's no road, you just gotta build one! Creation... Fate is telling me to remake the world " - Hiro
"Maybe I should find them and make them work for me. To rebuild the world, we must first rebuild the Togami dynasty" - Byakuya
"I'll just get some flour and make some myself! And if there's no flour, I'll just grow some wheat!" - Aoi (when Hiro said there could be no more donuts)
"Even if everyone in the outside world is gone... Even if the world is steeped in despair... As long as I have people like you around, I can face forward and keep moving. If we can get out there and do something, have some sort of impact..." - Kyoko
"But what can we do...? There's so few of us, and we're so small. So what can we do...? ...No, we can probably do anything. Yeah! We can do anything!" - Makoto
In a way, I guess you could say that's their form of atonement. Atoning for the actions of their 'blackened' classmates. Atoning for the actions of Junko, with whom they still shared some good memories, despite everything. Atoning despite being innocent.
As for the 77th Class . . . Oh, I don't know. I mean I sympathise with them. They were brainwashed to commit acts of despair, and if they ever show themselves in public, they'll surely get persecuted. I guess they got no choice but to live on the island in silence from everyone else.
Actually I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this, haha. So, I'll stop.
Note that I'm biased towards the 78th Class, so take this post with a grain of salt.

Instead of the beach, they meet at the hotel, to avoid losing their kouhais in the ocean or sand. It wouldn't hurt to have lunch, anyway.
"A four-inch-tall Olympic swimmer gorging herself on a quarter of a donut," Teruteru marvels. He's at a table with Akane, Sonia, and Mahiru– and of course, all of the miniature Ultimates they're caring for.
Akane lowers her head to hear her kouhai's chittering voice, then lifts it again to say, "She wants you to stop starin'. Where's yours, anyway? You lose him?"
"Oh, he hid under my hat while I was cooking; he didn't like the smoke. I think he fell asleep up there."
"Aren'tcha worried he'll run out of air or somethin'?"
Teruteru lifts his hat to take a slumbering Yasuhiro and place him on the tabletop. The movement appears to startle him awake. (And who can blame him.)
"Hifumi," Mahiru chides, picking up her kouhai and turning him around. "She said to stop staring!"
At another table, Hajime sits with Nagito, Kazuichi, and Nekomaru.
"Aww. Are you making friends?" Nagito says.
His little brown-haired kouhai, Makoto, has been especially social with the others. Based on the tentatively positive reaction of Kazuichi's sheepish kouhai, Makoto seems to be a nice guy. He even pries a bit of conversation out of Kyoko, who Hajime has observed to be pretty unforthcoming.
"This is weird, right?" Hajime says, pulling Nagito's gaze away from fondly watching the tiny Ultimates interact. "I feel like we've moved past how weird this is pretty quickly."
"Check this out," Kazuichi says, taking out a little gadget he's been working on. "This motor is going to power the door to Chihiro's terrarium."
"Her terrarium is going to have an electric door?"
"Amazing!" Nagito says. "It's going to be so cool to see what everyone comes up with."
"This is weird," Hajime murmurs again.
Chiaki sits with Peko, Hiyoko, and Ibuki.
"What do you mean you don't want candy?" Hiyoko protests.
Tiny Sakura points to the chicken on Peko's plate.
"Hey, I'm in charge! I set the menu around here."
Sakura walks closer and says something that Hiyoko bends down to hear.
"Ugh! Fine." Hiyoko gets up to grab Sakura some real food.
"We have a runaway!" Ibuki warns, pointing at Celeste, who is strolling away while Chiaki is focused on a game she's playing.
"Hey hey," Chiaki says mildly, picking Celeste up and holding her close to her ear. "Where are you going?" A short pause, listening. "Oh. You don't like watching me game? That might be a problem for our co-op compatibility..."
"There. Happy?" Hiyoko demands, sitting back down with a new plate.
Sakura says something back.
"You're welcome." Hiyoko is trying to pout, but she's blushing a lot.
"Byakuya" sits with Gundham and Mikan, and Fuyuhiko stands off to the side.
Gundham has been having a harder time managing his kouhai than most, since there aren't a lot of spots on his person that he can safely keep a small person that aren't already inhabited by hamsters. He's been settling for letting her stand on the palm of his hand at all times, though a brief moment where he had to set her on his shoulder so he could bring his food to the table with both hands resulted in her sneezing from the hamster hair, and that was a weird couple of minutes before she sneezed again and seemed to calm down.
(They're all given information on their kouhais, so Gundham actually knows what happened there, but he doesn't explain it to anyone else.)
Now, Toko is chittering at Imposter's kouhai, and it does not seem to be a nice conversation. Mikan's kouhai intervenes, and he speaks loudly enough that most of his chitters are decipherable without bending down; he says something about "inappropriate language".
"He's standing up for his friend," Mikan says, smiling delightedly. "I'm so proud. Is this what it's like...?"
"What what's like?" Fuyuhiko asks, from his corner.
Before she can answer, their pleasant lunch is interrupted by a sudden appearance from Usami. She tells them again that their job is to have fun and make friends on this school trip and help their kouhais do the same, and-
Ding dong, bing bong.
Usami looks immediately panicked, as an unfamiliar sound fills the room.

I did a post detailing my manga collection back in 2021, but it's grown a lot since then so I figured I'd make a new post! It was also a good time to do so because we're repainting my room and while there's usually a ton of anime merch in front of the books on my shelves, now it's all been packed up. DR3 episode 10 Makoto Vs Munakata BREAKDOWN
recently someone else made a post about Makoto's feral-ness during the showdown he had with Munakata in episode 10, of course it's quite cool, but i feel some may take it the wrong way so i wanna set the record strait and also gush about stuff i love in that scene that people may not notice so first lets lay some context
future arc episode 10: prior to this Munakata has gone on a downward spiral of insanity being a knight templar and that his way is the right way and that he must kill all despair meaning everyone he even practically killed Juzo and even before his full berserk mode he was highly aggressive and hostile towards Makoto not listening to his words at all and belittling him, in short at the time he was far from "a reasonable folk" and Makoto at the time just had his girlfriend friend Kyoko die in which Munakata challenged him to a once and for all face off, in which Makoto bears his will and steady's himself, though being open about the pain in his heart of her apparent passing and this is important as his heart is his most powerful weapon ok now lets start
so we start with the precursor as Makoto walks to Munakata and they think over their ideologies. and how Munakata wants to pull a "kill them to save them" with Makoto and everyone cause he thinks despair must be destroyed and you know its interesting cause then Makoto says
Tumblr media
i remember it shaking me how steadfast and determined he was, to stop Munakata at all cost but i just want to point out something from here on out that i feel is very important to what we shall be seeing
Makoto Planed all this
not the before stuff i mean as soon as he walked in that room he knew what he would say and what he would do, he had his end goal in mind he even says so near the climax with the doors but even before that he planned what would happen prior it may not seem like it due to how he always seemed on the losing side and sure he probably didn't plan to get beaten up so much but he still knew what he would do and how he would do it, and people don't talk about that much but this all shows how Makoto is much more intelligent then we give him credit for, but I'll explain as we go on
Tumblr media
so then we start Makoto steps on glass to alert Munakatas attention, you can tell it's on purposes as there's no indicator of uncertainty or fear on Makoto's part, it's to say "i am here lets end this" as when Munakata speaks makoto still stands strong not faltering or fumbling. then he says "i wont hesitate anymore" makoto will face munakata head on and do what he needs to but even then befor anything he trys to talk down munakata saying how killing eachother is pointless and that they can still work together
of course munakata doesn't listen but no one can say Makoto didn't try
and that's when the chase begins, but who's the hunter and who's the hunted? that's what one must ask
so though munakata attacks makoto runs out closing the door as it's revealed in the end makoto knows munakata can't open doors and uses this to his advantage drawing distance and gaining time to make his next move, as
Tumblr media
open door which of course Munakata knows is a set up,
Tumblr media
but jokes on him makoto knew he would know it's a set up, or not, it's a win win either way because if he didn't know
Tumblr media
deep fried zealot on the barbie! but since he did know he survived which leads to the next phase of makotos plan. and if any of you are wondering why makoto would do such a thing
he was always feral! he just didn't have much chance to act on it because he's polite and sees the good in people, but even he has his limits, so you best start appreciating the kindness Makoto shows in you when he does, well on to phase 2!
cause munakata survives with his sword and shoots makoto with tengans weapon which hurts of course so makoto runs off as his blood leads munakata exactly where makoto wants him to be he even says so
Tumblr media
of course makoto knows about the fire extinguisher and he dosent just mean that but I'll bring that up in a second as we see makoto look around waiting for munakata who comes in soon after and makoto is hidden now holding the fire extinguisher to bop munakata on the head! which fails, he also throws it but that fails, now one ask if this could kill munakata but from my research it seems it would only hurt maybe konk him out as for something to hit your head and kill you it must be about 24 kg (52 lbs). for it to be lethal from arm length and the average fire extinguisher is around 5-10 pounds and as much as i like to believe makoto is this
Tumblr media
hes more likely this
Tumblr media
so that fire extinguisher is more then defiantly not killing just gonna sting maybe knock him unconscious which would be a win, but he failed but dont worry! this leads the phase 3! which brings up how before he threw it he planed on using it for its intended purpose, (which is a important part of phase 3)
because though it gets thrown away and jammed in the wall it BLOWS UP HITTING MUNAKATA IN THE BACK AND MAKEING A SMOKE SCREEN EVERYWHERE! which disorients and distracts munakata for makotos phase 3!
Tumblr media
JUMP HIM AND PUSH HIM IN THE HOLE!
which leads me to point out something genius The dud fire extinguisher? It was the same one that Asahina tried to use to cover their escape in episode 2. Likewise, the hole in the floor is the one Great Gozu smashed for an escape route in the same episode. In "fighting" Munakata, Makoto made use of observation, deductive reasoning, and a pretty good memory; skills that he'd honed in his own Killing Game, which Munakata had earlier derided for being too orderly compared to fighting in the real world.
which of course leads to the kicker as they are both down the hole, munakata apears to have makoto right where he wants him right there in on a silver platter for a kill, but on the contrairy, makoto has munakata right where he wants him as makoto reveals he knows munakats forbidden action, and thus makeing it so munakata cant kill him and has to listen. moral of the story
munakatas like "your plan faild i am not dead" makoto:
Tumblr media
this of course all leads to the epic confrontation scene
Tumblr media
it was with empathizing and saying these words to munakata did he finally pierce his heart and get munakata to back down...
so much for useless platitudes ay munakata?

T_T Kaito you lovable doof.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We sure have been here before, haven't we? The Danganronpa PC is never the lead investigator even though we wind up doing all the work. When we team up with another character, they're the one in charge.
This was most notable with Byakuya and Kyoko in DR1. Byakuya was an ego-centric dipshit. Kyoko was purposefully fluffing up Makoto as a decoy in order to bait the Mastermind into moving against him and opening herself up for counterattack. We also got a bit of it with Kaede assisting Shuichi in his machinations against the Mastermind here.
But it hits different with Kaito. He plays it off like he's doing a Byakuya, but the tone is different. Because Shuichi is different from Makoto.
Tumblr media
By seizing control like this and relegating Shuichi to "sidekick", Kaito is all but saying outright, "You put your skills to work and find the answers - and if anything bad happens because of it, then that's MY FAULT, not YOURS. You take all that blame and doubt and self-loathing and you put it on me, and then you keep doing what makes you special, got it?"
As much as I resent the Kaede/Shuichi rug-pull, shit like this is what makes Kaito and Shuichi's bromance one of the most emotionally powerful relationships in Danganronpa history. Quite possibly the most powerful relationship.
Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars, has a pretty massive ego about him - but rarely in a way that's malicious. He sells himself like he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the trick is that he also lives it.
He's far from perfect; He has his character flaws, sometimes fairly substantial ones that impede investigations. He often thinks too highly of others, to the point that he becomes an obstacle to proving their guilt because he refuses to accept the truth. But he goes out of his way to be the best possible version of himself, and encourages everyone around him to do the same.
This is the sweetest, most heartfelt relegating of protagonist to somebody's assistant in the series.

Her nap ended up being much longer than anticipated, and when she woke up from her bedroom window being forced open, it was already night. She didn't react until the person landed on the floor and another person began climbing in.
"...Hello...? Can I help you...?" It took a few seconds for her sleep-addled mind to recognise the intruders, but when she did she was suddenly very awake. "...Ah, Komaeda-kun? And... Kamukura-kun too? What are you doing here...? You ruined my nap..." She started to pout as she rubbed the drowsiness out of her eyes.
"Ah, my apologies. I didn't intent to wake you. I tried to be quiet, but of course I'd mess up something as simple as that. You may punish me however you see fit!"
"...Be my pillow then."
"...Huh? If... that's what you want, then sure! I'm afraid I might not be a very good one though... With how thin and bony I am, haha." He was clearly caught off guard, not expecting such a request. "Ah, but first, maybe I should explain why we're here, no?"
"I will do it. Go be a good pillow."
"...Well, alright. Anything you say, Kamukura-sama!" At Izuru's command, Nagito removed his shoes and climbed up into the bed. Chiaki moved so he could lay down and put her head on his chest when he did. The rest of her body laid across his torso and between his legs. "...Haaaaaaah. It's kinda hard to breathe..."
"Oh, sorry. Let me just..." Chiaki moved so her head was closer to his collarbone, and her torso was more off to the side than entirely on top of him "...Is that better?"
"...Yes, much better. But you really didn't need to move for someone like me, I'm sure this isn't as comfortable for you as your previous position."
"...Nah, it's fine. This is plenty comfortable for me. And I don't want you to suffer just because I want to lay on you." She patted his chest lightly in comfort. Before she could close her eyes and fall back asleep, Izuru made a noise to remind her of his presence. "How boring. You're already going back to sleep." Oh, that's right. He needs to explain what they're doing here... She rubbed her eyes to keep herself awake. "...Oh, right. You were supposed to explain why you're here. I was so caught up in sleeping on Komaeda-kun that I forgot..."
"...Ahaha, how cute. You could forget even something as important as that... I wonder if you have any self-preservation, Nanami-san. We could be here to kidnap you or kill you in your sleep and you'd hardly even react." Nagito seemed to almost whisper. "...In any case, let me begin explaining. We came here to provide some insider support in regards to your mission to 'save' the Remnants of Despair. An awfully predictable mission for you."
"Predictable isn't always bad, Kamukura-sama!"
"...But. With the few allies you have, this task will be impossible for you to achieve. I find it far too boring to simply let you die without accomplishing anything of note. If you die, nothing will change. Despair will continue to spread until the Future Foundation manages to bolster their forces enough to eradicate all traces of Junko Enoshima's influence. To prevent that outcome, we shall assist you."
Chiaki was stunned. Her mind was having difficulties processing all the information Izuru just told her. After a few seconds, she looked back to Nagito, hoping he could help her understand everything. "...Aha, it's a lot to take in, isn't it? I don't blame you for being confused. You'll understand it all in time. For now, all you need to understand is that we will help you safely retrieve our fellow Remnants of Despair. ...Ah, but it seems there's something Kamukura-sama forgot to mention!"
"...Which is?"
"Why we met you here, specifically! You see, the best way for us to assist you is to stay close to you. Of course, we cannot interact with you carelessly while in Future Foundation regulated areas, so we have normally been rather... limited in our capacity to help. Here, however? The only other Future Foundation members besides yourself are Makoto Naegi and Kyoko Kirigiri."
"...Kirigiri-san will definitely figure out you were here. She'll most likely tell Naegi-kun too."
"That is no cause for concern. Naegi will want to 'save' the Remnants as well, and Kirigiri will go along with him. As long as they are assured of our cooperation, there will be no issue." Kamukura-kun sounds so sure. Guess I shouldn't worry so much then. "...Ahaha, you're rather calm about all this, Nanami-san. I suppose us living here shouldn't be an issue then?"
"...Yeah, it should be fine. ...I'm gonna go back to sleep now. Feel free to join us, Kamukura-kun." With that, she fell back asleep, still laying on top of Nagito.

please tell me ur patterns. plea
my danganronpa autism patterns…… for u……
chapter one:
tricked into murder
leon didn’t mean to kill sayaka. in fact, it was shown that she accidentally stabbed herself during the struggle in the bathroom, but since there were no cameras there, no one but leon knew, and it’s likely he fully believed he was the one who stabbed her.
teruteru only acts because he thinks nagito is planning to kill someone, and interrupts to take out a person he deemed as dangerous to the group. while he did mean to kill, he got the wrong victim.
kaede meant to take out the mastermind, and set up her trap accordingly. instead of killing the mastermind, however, she “killed” rantaro.
“important” victim
sayaka was played up to be makoto’s helper, of sorts, and also a possible love interest. she was the character we, the player, gotten the closest to at that point.
twogami had stepped up to be the leader of the group. additionally, since we believed him to be the real byakuya togami, his death so early was even more alarming.
in both previous games, the character with an unknown talent survived until the end, and coming into/remembering their talents was an important part of their stories. rantaro, however, doesn’t live long enough for that. he, additionally, is set up as the mysterious, knows more than they let on character type, like kyoko. additionally, the protagonist herself is killed in this chapter.
chapter two:
killer reveal
togami’s set up baits out genocider, a known serial killer with a considerable body count.
peko’s true talent as a swordswoman for the yakuza is revealed. ignoring the sparkling justice red herring, it’s reasonable to assume she’s killed at least once (ignoring her time as a remnant).
while technically after the trial, kokichi outs maki as the ultimate assassin, making it damn certain that she’s killed.
hard framing of another
byakuya strings up chihiro’s body and writes in blood to frame toko/genocide.
peko knocks out hiyoko and leaves a gummy bear at the scene. hiyoko’s footsteps are the only ones seen running from the scene after the body’s discovery.
kirumi reveals ryoma’s body at himiko’s magic show, leading everyone to believe it was himiko’s doing.
something unobtainable/something lost (unsure how to classify this one but trust me it’s There)
mondo snaps because he sees chihiro as a better person than he, a man he could never be, and is overwhelmed with anger. he lost his brother and could never move on, but chihiro suffered so much and was able to despite it all.
peko kills mahiru because of her covering up the true killer of fuyuhiko’s sister.
ryoma lets himself be killed because he has nothing left, while kirumi has the weight of japan on her shoulders. she’s what he never was: someone with a purpose.
chapter three:
double murder
kiyotaka and hifumi
ibuki and hiyoko
angie and tenko
death of a gay(coded) character
it’s not even coded! a spikechunsoft rep confirmed that taka and mondo had feelings for each other, even if they didn’t know it themselves.
more arguable, but mahiru and hiyoko’s relationship can very easily be interpreted as more than just friends. additionally, both ibuki and mikan are canonically sapphic.
tenko.
killing for love
celes kills for the person she loves most—herself. not only does she want the money to fulfill her dream, but she’s also led to kill because her heightened sense of self made it impossible for her to coexist with her classmates.
despair disease reminds mikan of her true love—junko. while it’s very clearly the remnant brainwashing talking, it could also be argued that mikan did admire junko even before then.
kiyo kills for the only person he’s ever loved—his sister. as fucked as it is, she’s the reason he turned to killing in the first place, and his love for her is what inspires him to continue on with his plans even after angie intervened.
death of a developing character
taka had just managed to overcome mondo’s death, and gained a brand-new personality to go along with it! but then he dies, so all of that was for nothing, i guess.
mahiru’s death hit hiyoko hard, and it’s clear that she was trying to open up more to the group and soften her ways. too bad she never got to show that improvement.
tenko’s relationship with himiko had finally begun to improve into something tangible, and she was even starting to get along with some of the guys! until one of them killed her.
focus on female antagonist
celeste
mikan
angie, although unlike the others, hers is pre-trial while the others are built up during it
chapter four:
for the “greater good”
sakura sacrifices herself not only for her classmate’s survival, but because she feels as if she has failed them as the “traitor”. this is the only way she feels she can both fulfill her promise and keep her family safe, while also protecting her friends.
both gundham and nekomaru sacrifice themselves so the group can go on, because otherwise, they would’ve all starved to death in the funhouse (asides from nidai).
gonta doesn’t only kill miu because of the “secret of the outside world”, but because she was planning on killing kokichi, which she could’ve very easily gotten away with, leading to everyone’s deaths but her own.
death of the buff character
sakura
nidai
gonta
chapter five:
overly complicated (goes without explanation i feel)
shrouded blackened/victim
mukuro’s body is covered and destroyed before any real investigation can be done. additionally, her killer is literally hidden, as the real junko had yet to make an appearance at that point.
the culprit themselves don’t know they did it! because of komaeda’s set up, chiaki throwing the poison bottle was pure luck, and nothing else.
we don’t even know who’s the victim and who’s the culprit for the entire trial, with kokichi’s body squished, and the eva not only hiding kaito, but allowing him to change his voice at will.
honorable mention: someone explodes
when the bombs around mukuro’s body are detonated, genocider is sent flying, but ends up being unharmed.
when komaeda blows up the dining hall/restaurant area, souda is caught up in the explosion, but he’s fine.
i don’t have anything for chapter six other than the big reveal bc other than that i think the similarities would be more in the themes than anything and. i am not putting myself through v3’s final trial again you can’t fucking make me

THH's Moral Alignement and Reasoning
[spoiler for danganronpa 1]
disclaimer: I haven't read the novels, also these aren't character analysis, just my reasoning for why i put them in this category, also please add onto it if you disagree or have anything to say ^^
Lawful Good
Sakura Ogami: She always takes decisions that she considers to be the best for the people around her : trying to proctect her dojo by accepting to work with Monokuma or committing suicide and making sure to write a letter explaining to everyone why she did it as to resolve the situation and create a more peaceful atmosphere among them.
Kyoko Kirigiri: She has good intentions and i feel like what pushes her to act is kind of a "i can do it therefore i should do it" mindset.
Chihiro Fujisaki: Cute baby sunshine, never did anything wrong in their life.
Ishimaru Kiyotaka: He's the Ultimate Moral Compass, pretty self-explanatory.
Naegi Makoto: A genuinely good person who tries his best to be kind.
Neutral Good
Aoi: We can see during chapter 4 that she put her personal beliefs above all else but even if she tried to kill everyone i still think that she is a good person.
Toko (Ultra Despair Girl): If we were talking solely about THH i would've put her in Neutral Evil since she doesn't care about anyone but herself and is pretty mean (also something that i find very interesting during the 4th trial is that even if throughout the game she seems totally devoted and in love with Byakuya + her obvious lack of self esteem she still chose to defend herself when she thought Genocide Jack had killed Sakura which could've led to his death), but the character development she gets in that game is golden so yeah.
Chaotic Good
Mondo: Feel free to disagree with me on that because of the fact that he killed Chihiro who very much did not deserve it but contrary to what Naegi says in the game it absolutely wasn't a cold blooded murder, himself stating that he blacked-out while killing them. I still chose to put him in good because otherwise he really tried to do the right thing (protecting Chihiro's secret by moving their body or even when in the anime he covered Mukuro's bldy with his coat it showed that he was a kind person) + we also know that he uses his influence to minimize tensions between gangs.
True Neutral
Byakuya: I feel like his god complex makes him kind of uncapable to relate to other people and consider their struggles on the same level as him so he doesn't care about anyone + we saw during the 2nd trial that he definitely can't be described as a good person. I truly feel like he couldn't care less about rules or moral implications as he considers himself above it.
Leon: His actions only seem to be motivated by what he wants in that moment without a lot of reasoning behind it, like changing from baseball to music or killing Sayaka when he could've totally ran away after she tried to kill him.
Chaotic Neutral
Sayaka : I feel like she's morally neutral in the way where she's so goal-oriented that she doesn't care too much about the means to get to an end (which is also implicate in her backstory) but she's aware that what she does might bad : she was willing to let everyone die and pin the crime on Naegi but once her plan failed she still made sure to save everyone instead by writing Leon's name.
Yasuhiro : I hesitated to put him in chaotic evil because of the fact that he quite literally could have/tried to kill Sakura + he never was particularly kind to no one in the game and tried to steal money from us during his free time (tbh im still kinda mad at the wasted potential of making him a nice chill guy but well). In the end i went for neutral because i feel like its more a case of picking the worst possible choice than being a bad person, even if he is quite selfish.
Lawful Evil
Hifumi: The reason i put him in "lawful" is because what convinced him to kill Ishimaru was Celestia accusing him of SA, which is an understandable reason especially paired with the chance to get out happy and with Celestia but he was still willing to sacrifice everyone to get out so lawful evil it is.
Neutral Evil
Celestia Lundenberg: It was pretty complicated but i settled on this alignement if we take the things she tells us at face value (since i've seen a few people saying that she wasn't actually trying to win the game and that's why her plan was so sloppy). I don't feel like she's a bad person but she doesn't care about doing bad things to get what she wants.
Mukuro Ikusaba: That's where me not reading the novels probably makes a difference because i know that she gets more development there but based on the game and the anime i have to put her here, even if she was obviously manipulated by Junko she still seemed to agree with her.
Chaotic Evil
Junko Enoshima: Do i really need to explain ?
Genocide Jack: I mean, she enjoys killing people and has no other reason for what she does.
Thank you if you read all of that, sorry for any typos/grammar mistakes, english isn't my first language and i wrote it all in one go. Please tell me what you think :)

“Your hand.”
It’s the first thing Byakuya says to her as they leave the bathhouse. Kirigiri pauses mid-step, already halfway to the stairs, and turns over her shoulder.
“What of it?”
He gives her a pointed look. WIth her gloves on, he can’t tell the extent of the damage, but remembering how hard he’d tried to shut that door, he can imagine it’s not exactly pretty. “Is it broken?”
In response, she raises the hand in question, flexing it in front of him with the soft creak of well-worn leather. “It’s fine.”
Like hell it is. The fingers of her left hand hadn’t even been moving when she was typing, curled into a half-moon that skittered clumsily over the keys. But if she doesn’t want to admit it, there’s no point in him pointing it out. He has other questions, anyway. “Did you already know?”
He doesn’t mention Alter Ego out loud, but he doesn’t need to; there’s nothing else he could be referring to. She lowers her hand slowly. “Why do you think so?”
Of course, she would answer with another question. It was nothing but ambiguities and obstructions with her. “You didn’t seem surprised at all. You opened up the locker without any trouble. And you were very quick to volunteer yourself to take full responsibility.” It had been a thought in the back of his mind since the possibility of having to reveal Alter Ego to the others was brought up. She was the one who gave the computer to Chihiro, after all. He lowers his voice: “Considering how you were the one who passed that computer off to Chihiro, I can’t imagine that you weren’t aware of what he was up to.”
She doesn’t reply immediately, instead glancing around the ceiling for any wayward cameras, then behind Byakuya for any stray ears. But everyone else was still gathered around the bathhouse entrance, preoccupied with discussing their next move. Hiro was at the head of it, voice loud and excessively optimistic. “I’m curious as to how you perceived me as being unsurprised, all things considered.” She says flatly, and he feels a muscle twitch in his cheek. “And it wasn’t as if there was any lock on the locker itself. And it was the most logical thing to do, considering our room assignments.”
It doesn’t escape him how she hasn’t bothered to respond to his last statement, and it was too risky to make her answer it out loud, and especially not here or now. He hated having to concede, and especially not to her of all people, but the risk outweighed his pride. “Fine.” He grits out. Let her keep her secrets. “And where are you going now?”
He can probably guess, but he wants to hear it from her anyways. “The third floor was recently opened to us.” She replies coolly. “I am going to investigate.”
“Alone.” He doesn’t say it like a question. “You’re not bringing Makoto?”
“I always investigate alone. Anyone else…would get in the way.” She says that last part hesitantly, as if she’s not sure of her own reasoning. “I doubt he’d want to go with me regardless. Not after yesterday.”
Yesterday? He tries to think, if there was anything that happened yesterday that could have affected their relationship, but all he comes up with are the worst parts of the trial, the body discovery, the confrontation with Fukawa. The memories of everything else had blurred, melting together to become indiscernible.
She’s answering before he can even open his mouth to ask further. “I was the one who told Makoto to out you in the trial.” She says, monotone and unreadable, and then stands there, almost expectantly, as understanding sinks in.
He tries to feel angry, that familiar rush of fury, but there’s nothing, and it leaves him feeling jarringly cold in its absence. At his silence, she continues: “Let me be clear, Makoto did not want to betray you to begin with. I told him that it would be unavoidable, and the only way to clear you of all suspicion.”
“The two of you made me into a bigger target.” He points out, bitterly. A person who would be of no help in investigations or otherwise, who was helpless enough on his own to be an appealing victim who couldn’t retaliate.
“There’s only ten of us left, in an enclosed space. With smaller numbers, it’s less likely for any one person to be willing to kill. Or get away with it, at least.” If she was trying to reassure him, she was failing miserably.
“Why Makoto? If you were aware, why couldn’t you have told them instead?”
She takes a step closer, and he barely keeps himself from stepping back. “Would they have been as ready to believe me?” She asks quietly. “You said it yourself: I’m someone who you all know nothing about. If I was the one who did it, would they be as quick to accept it? Or would they have started wrongly accusing me as well? Where would we be then?” She reaches out and grabs his lapels - in her left hand - and pulls him close, just enough to whisper: “I am the only one who can get us out of here. I’m sure you know that well.”
He feels his hands clenching into fists at his sides, but she’s right. Of course she is. Out of everyone here, she was the only one who was actively searching, trying to escape, and probably the closest to succeeding. That was the most frustrating part; that he couldn’t even properly argue back.
She releases him and retreats, tucking her hair behind her shoulders. “I will admit. If I had been the one to absolve you, then maybe you wouldn’t have had to be betrayed.” She says simply, and it’s probably the closest thing he’ll get to an apology. An offhanded acknowledgement of his miserable state.
He’s heard enough. He turns on his heel, but hasn’t made even a step when she grabs his arm so suddenly that he almost stumbles. “What?” He demands. Her fingers are tight around his forearm, and he can feel her leather glove, smooth and creased at the knuckles, digging through the fabric of his jacket.
There’s another pause, as she opens her mouth, but she’s silent long enough for him to wonder if there was something wrong with her. Then she releases him. “Nothing. Go eat.”
He was already planning to head to the cafeteria to do just that, but her tone irks him so much that he’s almost tempted to turn around and stomp back to his room. “Don’t tell me what to do.”
“Starve, then. But don’t wear yourself out.” She was already brushing past him, hair streaming behind her like a ghost. “You still have some use yet.”
He watches her go, a little stunned and more than a little scandalized. For her to belittle him, patronize him, and mock him, after he tried to help her - demonstrated concern, even - he clenches his fists to stop them from trembling, and smothers down the insult that she was already too far away to hear.
What an-! Insufferable little-! He sputters silently. To go from blatantly labeling him as ‘useless’ just a few days ago to saying this now, when his most fatal flaw had been laid bare to everyone…even more frustrating, was how underneath the anger, a smallest shred of pride had curled to life in his chest, undaunted by the disgust that immediately followed. As if he were a dog easily placated by nice words.
…The hunger must have started to interfere with my thoughts. He shakes his head, and turns back to the cafeteria. Behind him, he can hear the squeak of sneakered footsteps, pattering to catch up with him, and starts walking a little faster, knowing full well who it could be. And sure enough:
“Byakuya!”
It was just one after another. Makoto’s hand pinches onto his elbow sleeve, and Byakuya jerks out of his grasp with enough force that he almost stumbles, staggering awkwardly to maintain his balance. Makoto steps back, one hand still raised hesitantly, and his breath stutters slightly as he freezes, unsure what to do.
There’s a lot that Byakuya can say here. He’s envisioned this interaction a thousand times, in between chess and shogi games with Alter Ego, as he showered, as he rested his exhausted, sightless eyes. But the vitriol he prepared doesn’t come; the very act of trying to come up with something to hurl at him just leaves him feeling drained. Hollowed out.
Luckily, he’s saved from having to say anything at all. Seemingly out of nowhere, with only a sudden rustle of velvet to announce her arrival, Celeste appears by his side, placing one hand delicately on his elbow.
“Oh, excuse me,” She hums serenely, entirely ignoring the strange, tense air between the other two. “I pray I am not intruding. Byakuya, won’t you please join me for tea?”
She’d never shown interest in him before. He scowls, instantly wary. “What for?”
“There’s no need for such frightening looks. I have no ulterior motives.” She’s probably smiling, though he can’t make out her mouth on her pale face. Just her eyes, pinpricks of an artificial, unsettling red. “But you have not eaten since yesterday’s breakfast, no? Hifumi’s milk tea is almost passable, and I would appreciate it if you could offer your refined opinion on it.”
He doesn’t move, arm held at an awkward position away from himself to keep her at a distance. Makoto is still there, watching them, hesitating. “Um, Byakuya-”
“And…I would like to apologize for my actions during the trial.” Byakuya’s eyes snap back to her. Her posture has relaxed somewhat, and she speaks slowly, as if every word was pushing against her pride. “I spoke rather callously, and…shed some rather insulting suggestions of your relation with Chihiro. At the time, I genuinely thought I was doing the right thing, but it seems I should not have been so rash.” The hand on his elbow slackens, just enough to be in danger of sliding off his arm entirely. “I can’t imagine how you are feeling now. It’s clear now, you were one of the people closest to him, if he was able to entrust you with something so precious.”
He feels his lip curling with disgust, at her shamelessness. It was unsurprising that someone such as the Ultimate Gambler would use words like cards, and know exactly how to play them. But even despite knowing that she wasn’t likely to be genuine, the stifling, uncomfortable pressure on his chest dissipates, just a little.
And he was hungry. And he has no desire to be face-to-face with Makoto at all, and he doubts Celeste’s intentions to kill him. And there was no motive, nor had he slighted her in any way - and besides. Prepositioning him here, in the middle of the hallway with Makoto to witness it, meant that it would be very difficult for her to free herself of suspicion if he were to turn up dead.
“Fine.” He forces his posture to relax. At that, her hand twines around his arm with the grace of a snake, much like how a lady might be led by a gentleman, resting there lightly.
She radiates smugness, and the self-satisfaction of a pampered cat as she leans into him. “Then, shall we go?”
He doesn’t really want to. But sometimes sacrifices were a means for a better end, and he only spares a single glance at Makoto as he leaves, standing ignored and alone in the middle of the hallway.
___
“Ah, Princess!” Yamada calls as they enter. And then, slightly panicked: “And - M-Mister Togami-?”
Byakuya scoffs, disgusted, but Celeste tugs him along. “Yes, I am aware of the nature of the company that I keep.” She sounds almost apologetic about it, as she half-guides, half-steers him towards a two-person table near the far end of the cafeteria. “But I assure you, he has his uses. He’s loyal where it counts, and accomplishes things decently well.” She pats his arm, a gesture that feels far too familiar for his comfort. “I’m sure you understand?”
He makes no comment, seating himself with a scowl, and eyeing Celeste warily from across the table, a graceful shape of black and white before him. The girl had always been an enigma - much like Kirigiri in her careful, conniving ways - but he hasn’t forgiven her for how she so carelessly dropped the mention of his meeting with Chihiro. It hadn’t been to clear anything up either; he was sure that her intentions were for her own self-satisfaction, and nothing more.
Yamada waddles out of the kitchen, a large, silver tray balanced between his hands. He sets it on the table with a flourish, its contents rattling slightly - an intricate porcelain tea set decorated with a swirling black design, with a plate full of small teacakes, cookies, and other such deserts - and begins pouring out two cups of tea. He’s surprisingly graceful about it, making a show of pouring the milk in a large arc and stirring it all with a tiny silver spoon, before he sets one down in front of both of them.
Celeste lifts her cup to her lips, taking a careful sip. “Hm. Better,” She praises, and Yamada swells with pride, his chest puffing out. “Thank you. You may go.”
He deflates immediately. “Ah, but-” He clutches the empty tray to his chest like a shield. “Er, to sit alone w-with another man-!”
“Now, please.” There’s a firmness behind her gentle politeness, and after a moment’s hesitation, Yamada retreats to the kitchen with a quiet grumble.
There’s some sound near the entrance of the cafeteria, and when Byakuya looks up he sees Hagakure leading Owada towards a table, talking jovially about the importance of health and food, asking about any preferred dishes, and launching into some inane story about a hamburger and aliens.
“He’s been like that since this morning.” Celeste comments, and he turns back to her. She sets her teacup down with a gentle click, and laces her fingers beneath her chin as she leans forward, her voice lowered to an exaggeratedly conspiratorial degree. “You were not there, but Hiro declared himself the de facto leader in Taka’s absence. He stated that he has rights by age, but thus far he’s only taken responsibility for Owada.”
De facto leader…as if they had such a thing. “Good. Someone has to.” Byakuya grunts, as he lifts the cup to his lips. Owada was the farthest thing from stable at the moment, and he would rather avoid having to participate in another trial so soon. The tea Yamada made is passable, though too sweet for his tastes and richer than he would like.
“Hm, quite right.” She sighs. “I have no interest in repeating yesterday’s events for as long as I live.”
She says what he was thinking out loud, and somehow, that bothers him deeply. He didn’t like how similar the two of them were, how similar she was perceiving them to be. How similar they already were.
“But let’s not waste time on depressing things.” She claps her hands lightly. “I am curious. How is your relationship with Makoto now?”
He chokes on the teacake he had just taken a bite of, crumbling into crumbs and dust into his throat, and takes a hasty gulp of tea. It’s too hot and scalds his tongue, and the raw, healing wounds on his inner cheek. He almost doubles over with the pain, just barely managing to keep his posture. This whole time, he was painfully aware of Celeste watching him over her crossed hands.
“Are you alright?” She asks, offering him a handkerchief. He ignores it and takes another sip of tea, ignoring the burns.
“M’ f-ine.” He spits. He has the feeling his eyes are watering, though there’s not exactly a clear difference in his vision to suggest if that’s the case, and counts himself lucky for not choking. He tries to blink the tears inconspicuously away, and clears his throat. “Why - why do you ask about him?”
She tilts her head as if his question is the odd one. “You underestimate how much attention you drew when you accepted Makoto’s company. In the course of just a few short weeks, we’ve seen you two develop a sudden companionship, then a sudden lull, and then rekindle that relationship as if nothing had happened at all.” He has the feeling she’s smiling, though he can’t make out the gleam of her teeth compared to her chalk-white face. “Would you like to hear some of the rumors that have been spread?”
“Not in the slightest.” He can imagine what tasteless things have been whispered already. “The truth is nothing as scandalous as you’re hoping to hear. He was the first person who discovered my blindness, and was simply assisting me. Though-”
He grimaces inwardly now, at the memory of the trial. The earth-shattering feeling of betrayal. The quiet, hesitant way that Makoto had reached out to him afterwards, guilty as a thief. “Though, I have no need for people that can’t obey orders.”
That’s not the exact reason for his avoidance of Makoto, but he’s not interested in analyzing exactly why the other boy was bothering him so, and especially not now. It’s also not the sort of answer he would expect Celeste to be satisfied with, but to his surprise, she simply shrugs, and nods as if she understands it completely.
“I am the same. Though given our situation…I have had to be a little accommodating.” She flicks a hand carelessly in the direction of the kitchen. “I am surprised, however. Given your nature, I hadn’t expected you to be so merciful. You seemed to let Makoto off very kindly compared to the injustice he did you.” She leans forward slightly, staring at him. “You’ve changed, it seems.”
“Excuse me?”
“It is not an insult.” She says, with the same, gentle tone as a nanny with a displeased child. “If anything, it is praise. You’re far more open now, when compared to before.” She taps at her face. “You’ve stopped wearing your glasses, which you didn’t need in the first place. It’s a sign that you have become less shut off, no?”
“It’s not a sign of anything. My glasses broke when Owada punched me.” Never mind the fact that he has several spare pairs in his room. Trying to wear them now when everyone knew they were pointless would be more humiliating than anything, though he still has to consciously refrain from reaching up to touch his temples, fighting the habit to adjust something that wasn’t there.
“But even so, my point still stands.” Her eyes narrow as she smiles. “Before, you seemed very distant, but now it is more obvious that you are of flesh and blood.”
He shifts uncomfortably in his seat. That was what he was afraid of, becoming more human, more like those around him. His glasses had been a part of him for as long as he could remember, even before there was a real need for him to wear them; they made him look older, Pennyworth had told him, and more mature. Less like a boy, more like a proper heir. Less like his mother, and more like a Togami.
He notices the pale, spindly shape of Celeste’s hand reaching for his face just in time, jerking backwards and out of her reach. If she’s surprised, she gives no sign, and simply retreats slowly. “I apologize. It seems I’ve said something insensitive once more.”
“...You said nothing of the sort.” He lies. Has he become that easy to read? He presses his lips into a thin line. “Even if I still had them, there’s no point in wearing them anymore. Not when everyone knows they’re pointless.”
“I see…if it is any consolation, I do find your appearance appealing now.” She says this hesitantly, shyly, hiding her face demurely behind her cup. But either she had layered on enough makeup to completely conceal her face, or she was an exceptionally skilled liar, or most likely both, because not the barest hint of a blush is visible on her at all. “You were uncomfortably perfect before, more like a little porcelain doll than anything. I rather enjoy this new, human side to you. Even the…imperfections, if you will forgive the term, are quite endearing.”
He can feel her gaze, bright red eyes, roaming his face. “Save your flattery.” He mutters. The burn on the roof of his mouth was making itself known again, and as he glances down at his plate at the remains of his earlier pastry, all he sees is an unappealing, sand-coloured blur. “Asides from the change in supposed ‘leadership’, what else happened when I wasn’t around?”
Thankfully, Celeste doesn’t push the topic, and instead launches into a detailed recount. Monokuma opened up the third floor as a reward for a successful trial, which included new amenities: an art room with just about everything needed for any medium, from sculpting to calligraphy; a very robust physics lab with a very large and elaborate air purifier; an equipment room without anything particularly noticeable; and a recreation room with a pool table, darts, board games, and a weekly magazine rack.
Byakuya raises his eyebrows at this last mention. “Weekly magazines?”
“Yes, but unfortunately, Monokuma has no intention of providing us with any new issues.” She sighs. “I asked him myself.”
He clicks his tongue, disappointed again but unsurprised, and leans back in his chair, taking a biscuit. Everything that Yamada had brought out was too sweet for his tastes, and tasted cheap, with the chemical-ly staleness of preservatives. It was killing his appetite, and he was ready to retreat back to his room.
“It seems that our school life has gained more opportunities to become enjoyable, however.” Celeste continues, ignoring his apparent sourness. “Won’t you join me for a game of Othello, sometime? I’m sure someone of your caliber is familiar with the rules.”
“I’ll pass. I have no need for a partner.” He doubts that she would be a better opponent than Alter Ego, in any case. Especially if he couldn’t see the board.
“A shame. But it was worth asking.” She doesn’t sound surprised by his blunt rejection. “I’m sure I could not compare to the games you have witnessed among the aristocracy?”
He hesitates for a moment. Her intentions were clear, full of the subtle eagerness of a child trying to wheedle out a prize for good behavior. “Witnessed, and participated. But I have to disappoint you, they’re more or less just like the gambling games that the commoners play, blackjack and roulette and such. The only difference is the wagers.”
“Very high wagers, I presume?”
“Yes, but not in money. Most of the time, all the participants have enough money to their name that mere cash becomes meaningless. So they place their stakes in other things- properties, businesses, liquid assets and even people. A family castle, their favored butler. Things that have more value to them than just monetary.” She leans forward on her elbows, listening intently, and after another moment’s pause, he continues. “I’ve only played once, and wagered a genuine second-generation [Delafoy] portrait bust. I won the original copy of the opponent’s family records.”
“A rather underwhelming prize.”
“Not at all. There’s nothing more valuable than information - especially when it’s limited.” He replies, smugly. That book of records was the only copy to exist, and the stupid, sheltered boy who had wagered it had gone nearly catatonic when he lost. He was outright disowned when his family discovered what he’d done, and the family head offered a fortune for the return of it - but Byakuya had kept it, both out of spite and necessity. That book ended up being a precious bargaining token later, when the game of inheritance found him and he needed a place to lie low.
Celeste is captivated, leaning as far as she can over the table with her chin tucked on her laced hands, eyes so wide that the red of her irises - contact lenses, surely - are twin, bloody suns on her milk-white face. Like a vampire bite, he notes distantly, with a hint of snide amusement. “It has always been a dream of mine to sit among those tables.” She says, and her voice is hushed and passionate, eager, expectant; a demand hidden in plain sight.
“It would never happen. Someone of your status would never be afforded the chance.” He scoffs immediately, matter-of-factly.
“Do the wealthy not recognize the value of skill? I’m sure I can provide a stimulating enough game for them.”
“And I don’t doubt that you could. But that wouldn’t matter.” She was certainly clever, but if she was still dreaming such foolish things, then he suspected that she would not last much longer in the mastermind’s game. He leans forward, fixing her with a stare. “The only reason why I could participate at all is because of my lineage; the Togami name is the only reason that family offered to buy back their precious records, rather than simply assassinate me and pick it off my corpse. Someone like you wouldn’t even be allowed to leave that table alive.” Those esteemed elderly with nothing to do and those spoiled brats with lofty ideals would let her join their table, for the novelty of having a member of the peasantry try her luck, but the moment she humiliated them would have marked her end.
That answer seems to discourage her, and she sits back, plucking another cookie from the tray and turning it in her hands. “Such a violent reaction…it seems that the nobility are much less civilized than given credit.”
“Do you think yourself uncivilized for shooing away an insect? Like I said before, do not flatter yourself into thinking that we are on the same level.”
They’re quiet for a moment, sipping their tea and nibbling at the deserts. Hagakure was trying to coax Owada into eating a bowl of rice porridge, pressing a spoon into his listless hand. Byakuya watches with a strange, uncomfortable feeling growing over him, and suddenly wants nothing more than to leave.
“Ah, speaking of being human,” Celeste says suddenly, as if remembering something. “Makoto found a particularly interesting photo in the third-floor maintenance closet. And a very odd one, at that.” She pauses to take a delicate bite of a pastry, making him wait as she chews. “One of Mondo, Leon, and Chihiro laughing together in a classroom setting.”
“What?” He frowns. Were the three of them that close? He hadn’t noted them having any particular interactions between them to suggest such a thing. “When was the photo taken?”
“That, I cannot say. Monokuma seized the photo, so the only one who saw it was Makoto.” She shrugs, an elegant lift and fall of one shoulder. “But from what he said, they couldn’t have been much younger than they were when we first arrived.”
Perhaps they knew each other before enrolling here. It would be the most logical explanation, and it wouldn’t be impossible based on what he knew of them. He says as much aloud, and Celeste simply shrugs again.
“Perhaps.” She agrees, and takes another bite. “But if they did, they gave no indication of it, and certainly did not act like they knew each other at all. Though, I am inclined to believe it was nothing more than one of Monokuma’s pranks, intended to shake us.”
That wasn’t an unlikely possibility either. Byakuya certainly didn’t doubt that the bear might do such a thing. But for some reason it bothers him, sitting stubbornly in the back of his mind and refusing to be brushed away. Like a conspicuously empty patch of dust in an old room, marking the place where something unnamed once occupied and was now gone. Was it really just a prank, and nothing more?
From the kitchen, Yamada was humming, accompanied by the sound of pans and sizzling oil, hissing steam. Hagakure was still coaxing Owada into eating, while regaling him with another long-winded, far-fetched story. Despite everything, everyone was still going about their lives, domestic and carefree.
He thinks about Kirigiri, who never seemed to stop moving. Always thinking, always searching, always leagues ahead of him. She was similar to the girl in front of him now, clever and scheming and concealing everything behind an unreadable face. But different as well; Celeste speaks in an elegant, lilting cadence that reminded Byakuya of the children of the nobility that he had bumped elbows with before, and he can’t imagine himself having tea and small talk with Kirigiri in a similar setting.
“What will you do now,” He finds himself asking. “In regards to the killing game?”
Celeste tilts her head as if this were an obvious question. “I have no interest in dying. Nor do I have the stomach in me to imagine taking another person’s life.” She shudders slightly, as if the very thought of it was horrifying. “But all our amenities have been accounted for here, and I imagine we have all the provisions to live very comfortable lives. I can be content with this, so long as it ends the pointless tragedies.”
As he thought. Despite all her secretive, careful ways, the way she took to lying like a second skin; she was nothing like Kirigiri. Kirigiri had spine, at least.
He stands up suddenly with a screech of his chair, and she makes a noise of surprise. “You are leaving?”
“I have exhausted your company,” He says bluntly. “So there is no reason for me to stay.”
“Is that so…” There’s a sharp click as she raps her fingers against the patina. “In that case, thank you for the conversation. It was very insightful.”
He has no doubts about that. This was not a simple excuse to have a leisurely chat, but an exchange of information. She gave him what he wanted to know about the third floor, and he gave her a story to stave off boredom. Something to daydream about while they waited to escape.
He doesn’t bother deigning her with a proper goodbye as he turns to go. On his way out, he catches sight of Owada, sitting across from Hagakure, spoon still unmoving, watching him. Faceless and blank.

Seeing how many supporters Makoto has makes me so happy!
When I first heard of Danganronpa, I remember going straight to Trigger Happy Havoc's Wikipedia page and reading the whole thing. I wasn't too keen on playing the game and only wanted to read the story.
And I was naturally drawn to Makoto.
I was drawn to the amount of trust and belief he had in his friends.
I was drawn to how he, despite being thrown at death's door multiple times, came back up, stronger than ever.
Then, I moved onto Makoto's Wikipedia page, read it all, and went, 'Ah yes, my new favourite!'
Finally playing the first game solidified my love for him.
I was also drawn to how I related to him too (specifically how he sometimes thought low of himself, but when it came to his friends? He would become their biggest supporter).
I remember the first time I drew Makoto!
I drew him again, again, again, and again. Then I drew little comics of him, exploring many scenarios - some happy, some depressing, some funny, and more!
I wanted to search around and see if there were others who felt passionate about Makoto too.
But I was a little surprised that many didn't consider him much at all, some even going far to say 'He has less character so it's easier for the players to insert themselves into him.'
Or that he's 'boring', 'dumb', 'needs Byakuya and Kyoko to carry him'.
And I remember a whole post dedicated to declaring Makoto as the 'worst character ever'.
Owch!
I mean people are allowed to have their opinions and interpretations, but still . . .
Owch!
Yes, there were Makoto appreciation posts too, but they seemed to be so . . . few.
But now, I see people who feel so positively-strongly towards Makoto like me.
Reading through the reblogs of that poll and seeing the words "MakotoSweep" brings a silly smile to my face.
(Eventhough Makoto loses that poll, I will still be happy about how far he has come and how loved he is)
So, thank you . . . Makoto-nation.

Danganronpa THH: They learn you’re a vampire
Warning: Toko name calls you, slight mention of blood
Frightfest '22 Masterlist
Tumblr media
Aoi Asahina
At first she might get a little freaked out. But once you promise that you wouldn't drink her dry or turn her, she'd think it was kinda cool. She would be asking you a bunch of questions. Wait, can vampires eat donuts?
"So what's it like being a vampire? Can you go to the beach? Do you only eat blood?"
Tumblr media
Byakuya Togami
He wouldn't believe that you're a vampire for one second. Surely you're not going to be childish and pretend to be a vampire. He'd have quite the rude awakening when you get annoyed with him and bite him to prove it. And if he turns, he's going to have to live with the fact that he's a vampire too.
"No you're not. Vampires don't-What the hell!? Why are you biting me!?"
Tumblr media
Celestia Ludenberg
Assuming that you like in a Dracula castle type place, she'll be most interested in you. If you were a vampire, how would you feel about wearing a butler/maid outfit? She would relay her dream of owning a castle with handsome servants dressed as vampires. Perhaps you can let her move into your castle. Even if you were a dangerous vampire, she'd gamble her life for her dream.
Tumblr media
Kyoko Kirigiri
She probably won't react to this. You're you and that's that. And if you wanted her to react in fear, you'd be disappointed. She knows you're not going to hurt her. If you were, you would have done it already.
Tumblr media
Makoto Naegi
He may be a little afraid at first when you tell him. But once you tell him that you won't hurt him, he'd relax a little. He might even ask if he could see your fangs and you're more than happy to show him. He would even be worried that you haven't fed enough and offer himself to you. You're very touched by this gesture, but are afraid you'll hurt him.
"You won't hurt me. I completely trust you, Y/N."
Tumblr media
Mondo Owada
He won't believe you until you show him your fangs. Even then he would ask you to prove yourself and challenges you to a race. But it's mere child's play for you. You win in a matter of seconds. You're either really fast or actually a vampire like you say.
Tumblr media
Mukuro Ikusaba
If she cared about you, she would be curious about this new information. What can you do as a vampire? Do you have good reflexes? Even as a human, she has excellent reflexes. Maybe you could test your reflexes together. However, if she doesn't care about you, considered yourself staked.
Tumblr media
Toko Fukawa
Just at the mere mention of you being a vampire is going to have her freaked out. She hates blood and that's all that you drink. Just stay away from her, you freak!
Tumblr media
Syo
If you're a vampire, you're immortal right? Do you mind if she uses her scissors on you to prove it. She's absolutely delighted to find that you're still standing despite all her attacks. Even if she was obsessed in love with you, she'd be very fascinated about your limits as a vampire.
"Don't worry darling, I won't hurt you too bad."

Talent Swap Au - Part 3!
I'm so normal about them what do you mean
Decided to just post the remaining ones here in just one batch because I need to throw the ideas somewhere and I do not have the patience I would like to imagine I have, especially not with stuff I want to talk about.
Be warned! Some spoilers for DR1, read at your own discretion.
First Group - The Deserved Better Gang
Yasuhiro Hagakure - Ultimate Idol
Going through his Hozier era, good for him <- Friend about him.
This man can fit so many conspiracies in his head.
Him and Mondo know each other in a daily basis because of some reasons I'll say later, you can imagine how his dead impacted the other.
Why pick Sakura? He's dumb but not that dumb.
"Those are some weird blood splatters" "It looks like a tree" "Huh" Truth Bullet Added! "Poorly Drawn Tree".
Sakura Ogami - Ultimate Baseball Idol
She's wearing a 50's style baseball uniform, this is not her usual uniform but she likes how it looks so sue her.
The deal with the mm still happens and goes as you'd expect.
She didn't kill Hiro because she wanted, Hina was the original target for the letter so she went to confront him about it.
Aoi Asahina - Ultimate Programmer
I had to look up so many Y2K fashion girl I'm so sorry that this means you died 3rd.
Alter Ego takes mostly the form of her brother and she created both to help and cope with everything.
Her death happens because her and Makoto have heard of each other through her brother, he didn't mean to kill her he swears! Still happens, I hug her.
Second Group - Trouble Trio
Kyoko Kirigiri - Ultimate Gambler
She went to live with her dad when she was little but the deduction talent runs through her blood, she is type of player that counts card and doesn't get caught.
Eventually reconnected with her grandfather and flips her dad off a lot.
Case 3 was not for the money, it was a revenge thingy.
Makoto Naegi - Ultimate Biker Gang Leader
Still a sweethear! Just a good boy that could kick you in your knees and send you to the hospital
Started the gang more of a personal thing but then it got out of control and he doesn't know what will happen if he decides to leave (Especially since the Crazy Diamonds guys left so some of the members moved to his gang).
Sister is his second in command
Expected to get caught in Trial 2, then the whole meddling with the crime scene happened and he doesn't know how to feel about it.
Byakuya Togami - Ultimate Fanfic Creator
That type of nerd that corrects you even if you get a tiny detail wrong because "How dare you get this wrong even if you are just starting to learn about this piece of media? You are unworthy of calling yourself a true fan!".
Loser, L.
Doesn't know how he became friends with Makoto but case 3 certainly did happen got killed LMAO.
Third Group - The Allies(?)
Hifumi Yamada - Ultimate Moral Compass
I struggled so hard giving him a talent I tried my best.
The type of hall monitor that strucks a conversation with you while walking and you not realizing he took you to detention or the office.
Nothing like canon Hifumi, just, nothing, the best way to write Hifumi is not writing Hifumi.
Mukuro Ikusaba - Ultimate Martial Artist
The main 6's emotional support through everything, elder sister tired energy.
Her and Junko didn't get separated at teens but they are friends, she really cared about her sister and loves her very much.
MM deal hurts her soul... case 4, yeah.
Celestia Ludenberg? - Ultimate Fashionista? Toko Fukawa - Ultimate Soldier
Omg is that Celestia Ludenberg the Ultimate Fashionista she looks so cool???
She looks different than in the pictures... Huh
Most be kept away from Taka at least 3 rooms appart if they are not in the group.
"WHY WEAR GLASSES IF CONTACTS?" "BECAUSE THEY DO SHIT SHE'S STILL BLIND AS A BAT"
That's all, thank you for hearing me ramble once again
Case 1 aftermath being like:
