Okay so this probably sounds dumb but at least for now I'm calling it a Mindtrapped AU (my thing with ES Bumblebee getting put under Mandroid's control)

I went back and rewatched the last three episodes of S1 (I replayed Stowed Away. Stowaways so many times I can't count it) but basically I'm rewriting that entire episode plus tweaking the last two. Now I have a canon-relevant reason for Bee going into the G.H.O.S.T Headquarters (his secret mission) and the kids stay home!!!! What compelled them to follow him in canon?! It's like they wanted to get captured or smth,,

So Bee's basically crawling through the walls like a roach to get his business done *insert cool spy stuff that me am not smart enough to write*. I also think that (just my opinion) Optimus kinda acted too obviously suspicious of Croft and that ruined the element of surprise because she immediately clocked that something was up.

And Schloder's complete 180 opinion of Bee?! Wasn't he eager to put that minibot in cuffs just episodes ago??? I think I'm going crazy

Anyway I'm trying to make it flow more cohesively while I build up to the bigger events

I have an oc that would fit perfectly into the plotline but idk if I should actually flesh that out or keep it more canon compliant. On one hand, I'd have an excuse to write them (an unaffiliated Velocitronian bounty hunter with relations to G.H.O.S.T but not officially working for them), and on the other I wanna keep the main antagonist a human (Croft, Mandroid)

Orrrrr, I could write them in and turn it into a double betrayal? (They're so gonna get killed off btw, it was destined in the scriptures)

I'm completely torn on this, y'all can decide whether or not they debut in the fic.

ANYWHO,,,,,,,

Bee gets got at the wrong time and the mission is a failure, and instead of being put in a cell, is immediately put into interrogation (read: torture) for espionage and conspiring with "the enemy". Y'know how everyone else has a badge on their chest/shoulders? Well, Bee gets one implanted directly into his neural net, attached at the spinal cord in the lumbar region, and it's so tightly interconnected that it hurt, threatening to sever the delicate circuitry. (It's fully intended to actually cut the cord if it gets deactivated, a fun surprise for later. I plan on exploring the potential of Cybertronian mobility devices. I also like the prospect of Bee using a cane)

During the fight, Breakdown comes back after getting his shit together, feeling terrible for abandoning his bbg and his family. He takes the responsibility of doing everything he can to keep the mind controlled minibot focused on him and nothing else, which leaves the terrans relatively unscathed at the end. Breakdown just kinda,,, lets his shit get rocked, feeling like he deserves to get beat up like that for even thinking about abandoning Bee. He comes out less unscathed, but alive.

Because it's a different type of control chip, and also connected to a computer at G.H.O.S.T and not that hand thing Croft has, Bee is still under when that big energy wave hits in the last episode, though since the connection was abandoned, there's no input coming through and Bee is left standing there uselessly, waiting for a signal that never arrives.

I think it'd be funny if Breakdown were to try and mess with him, making stupid faces and poking at him to try and get a reaction. He manages to get a few doorwing and horn twitches, and a full body movement when he jostles him hard enough. Other than that, nothing, and it's lowkey disconcerting. None of the others can get any other reaction, and especially Jawbreaker feels somehow responsible and keeps clinging onto him like a koala, hoping that behind the chip, he can feel that his little brother is there trying to support him.

What if the only reaction he gives is because of Hashtag, due to her G.H.O.S.T affiliation? He can sense a signal bouncing through her from that computer and he gives attention to her, awaiting for a command. She of course is freaked out about it but also enamored, because that's one of the craziest situations she has ever been in aside from the major fight earlier.

She can't properly intercept the signal because it's out of access, but now they have a better clue on where to look to shut the computer down and get Bee back.

And boy is that reunion uneasy.

EARTHSPARK MESSAGES AND SUBTEXT THATS NOT EVEN SUBTEXT

It's been a while since I have posted as I've been busy with finals, but I saw a post that absolutely made me spur a headache with just how utterly fatuous of a take I saw on Transformers Earthspark and the messages it sends.

DISCLAIMER: DO NOT USE THIS POST TO ATTACK OR HARASS ANYONE, THIS IS ONLINE DISCUSSION OF A WORK OF MEDIA.

THIS ALSO COVERS SPOILERS FOR SEASON 1 OF EARTHSPARK, IF YOU WISH TO AVOID SUCH A TOPIC PLEASE REDIRECT YOURSELF.

I have ALOT to talk about here, while also being completely in shock and disbelief how you end up BELEIVING THE SIDE THAT IS A GENOCIDAL LUNATIC WHO SEES THE TRANSFORMERS AS SUBHUMAN AND A DISEASE ON THE EARTH??? AND IS WILLING TO FULL ASS MURDER AND MUTILATE PEOPLE? From here any * you may see is likely a footnote mark to check details I put at the end for clarity. If I miss something, let me know and I will clarify.

Before I get into the meat of dissecting your clearly ill-informed and definitely not thoroughly thought out post, I need to get something out of the way because I believe you'll use this as a means of shielding yourself from incoming critique: It's okay to like and enjoy characters who are clearly bad people. There is a CLEAR difference between enjoying a fictional character and agreeing with whatever they might do or say. I enjoy many bad and morally reprehensible characters, including Mandroid/Doctor Meridian, but that doesn't mean I agree with them or don't find their actions and ideas deplorable. If you find yourself agreeing with someone who sees another group of people* as being subhuman or a danger to society you need to reconsider your ideologies and thought processes. Like ASAP.

Okay onto the actual deconstruction of your statements, why they are blatantly lacking a thorough reading of the messages in Earthspark, or even lead into uncomfortably ignorant territories both with Transformers and very real-life, human related things.

As a first point, you state that you hope this show re-examines the fact that hatred towards another group of people (even if they are fictional) automatically makes them a terrible person, and bring up the statement that the show makes GHOST's detainment of transformers look "cartoonishly evil" but does absolutely nothing to address Dr.Meridian's statements of transformers being dangerous.

Yes. Yes it ABSOLUTELY DOES address that throughout the entire show. In fact, the whole season is literally about deconstructing the notion that BOTH Dr.Meridian's and GHOST's ideals and methods are harmful if not downright discriminatory towards transformers as a whole.

GHOST's method of control is a guise under the US government by detaining any transformer they deem as "a threat", this can even mean autobots or non-aligned transformers who don't want to join their organization or are just doing their own thing. They will willingly classify them all as "Decepticons" to justify their inhumane treatment of them. This is paralleling how humans will stereotype and conflate other groups of people, as being all associated with one singular event or organization of people that is seen as bad or a danger to society* and use that stereotyped ideal to weaponize it against them and justify harming them in multiple ways; which is what Dr.Meridian ALSO DOES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SHOW. Dr.Meridian is a scientist that literally works with and is a huge provider of technology to GHOST, he literally works with them and experiments on the detained transformers. You can't say "oh GHOST bad Dr.Mer not so bad" when he's LITERALLY PART OF GHOST AND YOU CANNOT SEPARATE THEM. HE IS EXTREME AND OUTSPOKEN ABOUT HIS HATRED THROUGHOUT THE SHOW AND ACTIVELY IS SHOWN TO BE ENTIRLEY IN THE WRONG BOTH IDEOLOGICALLY AND ACTION WISE. You clearly have not watched with a critical eye if you think they never address his points or somehow he is right about something. He never is and it shows just how harmful his mentality is. You don't even need words spoken out loud to know he's ALREADY HEINOUSLY WRONG AND BIGOTED.

Why should the show, one that shows transformers having to battle against racist and xenophobic hatred towards them from humans, re-examine that relationship? People are being discriminatory to people they don't like, and to them it doesn't matter if they are decepticon or not; they're all the same and dangerous in their eyes. Yes, there was a war brought onto earth's soil from pure happenstance of where the Ark and members of the two named groups had landed, and yes it was bloody and many lives were lost like any war is. Should the war, as well as atrocious acts of violence by a few and the circumstance that which the birth and type of being transformers are deem all transformers as dangerous? OBVIOUSLY FUCKING NOT. That's literally stereotyping. That's what Dr.Meridian is doing. He's literally grouped them all into one conglomerate in his head and sees them all as pests to be exterminated.

The transformers are both immigrants and refugees of war that had lasted thousands of millions of years and a desperate attempt to find any source of energon because they would STARVE TO DEATH IF THEY DIDN'T AND RESOURCES WERE DANGEROUSLY SCARCE ON CYBERTRON. They are thousands of lightyears away from home in a place that doesn't have the cultures they are familiar with and structures built for them which accommodates their needs. And to add onto it, most were never originally outfitted with guns and shit. They had to ARM THEMSELVES TO PROTECT AGAINST ATTACKS. JUST BECAUSE YOU SEE A GUN POP OUT OF THEIR BODY DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE BUILT LIKE THAT NOR DOES IT MEAN THEY ARE AUTOMATICALLY ALL DANGEROUS. The only ones who are theoretically "built for war/violence" are war-frames like seekers, but they didn't even CHOOSE THAT LIFE OR WANT IT! THEY ARE COLD CONSTRUCTED* AND LITERALLY ENSLAVED INTO BEING CANON FODDER FOR WHATEVER SKERMISH THEY ARE DEEMED NEEDED FOR. Starscream wasn't even a warrior before this, he was just some nerd ass scientist. Cold constructed bots and War-frames are already deemed subhuman by other transformers. The entire war that you see is a continual millions of years struggle which the origins are in a fight against their own horrible systematic oppressions to try and bring freedom and put an end to the horrible reign back on Cybertron. How does them being robot organisms displaced by ongoing war, a continual brutal and bloody struggle for freedom back at home, and dangerous resource scarcity make them any more dangerous than your average person? And the "they are robots/walking death machines" argument doesn't count because you're only seeing them from a nonhuman lense in that case. Take off those nuts and bolts covered glasses and think of how this would be if they were all humans instead. The visuals of only seeing them for their robotics are blocking your ability to view this group as simply a mirroring of humans in nonhuman bodies. Humans are just as dangerous and ostracizing as them. Literally humans slaughter other humans frequently; bring upon hatred and obscene actions onto one another with or without robotic attachments and aid of machines. Just because the transformers are robotic extraterrestrials who are "different biologically/mechanically" makes it no different from the dehumanization and other forms of racism and xenophobia. Transformers are literally just... humans in a robot shell. You can't argue against this at all because most if not all have human forms, ALL of them have human minds, and just happen to come from a planet they need to be insanely large sized on, as well as already pre-armed due to conflict that they have escaped from.

The whole story of Earthspark is LITERALLY about the experiences of the Terrans; first generation descendants of immigrant refugees navigating the struggles that come with being just that. They make whole episodes surrounding their feelings of alienation and their struggle to have a place in the world, their culture and history and who they are. They want to feel they belong and feel they have a place in this world and be seen just as human and belonging as their human family. Their government and the world around them alienates them and treats them sub-humanly despite them being just as human, flaws and all, as us. Since I'm praddling on about this topic, did you even ABSORB ANY OF THE EPISODES HOME PART 1 AND 2???? IT'S ABOUT THIS TOPIC AND TEACHES HOW THIS MENTALITY OF TREATING THE TRANSFORMERS AS SUBHUMAN ALIENS THAT NEED TO GO AWAY OR NEED TO BE CLASSIFIED AS DANGEROUS/A INVASIVE "SPECIES" THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED IS BAD. IT SHOWS THE RACISM AND XENOPHOBIA THAT ESPECIALLY COMES WITH BEING CHILDREN OF IMMIGRANTS AND THE ISOLATION THEY FACE.

Please, I heavily implore you to go back and watch them. You somehow miss the entire point of the show and ESPECIALLY this episode. Many episodes cover different points of their existence as first gen children and the reality that the transformers have to face in general while being refugees on a planet with others being hostile and degrading to them but this particular episode is the one that tackles the points I make in this post the most. It may not go super deep into it due to forced time constraints and other executive nonsense that makes it harder to go into more detail but it still covers the topic very well.

Humans getting nipped at the heels for being bigoted towards transformers isn't some "ouugh you can't think the decepticons did bad things" type of nonsense and I absolutely hate the "oh because you can't be bigoted towards a group of people it means you suddenly can't criticize the actions of someone who happens to be someone of that group" mentality you seem to be concocting out of thin air. It's them associating the entire race of transformers as all bad, unbelonging or worthy of being seen as dangerous and to be wary around them or like they need to not be on earth and "go back where they came from". You go between "decepticons" and "transformers" interchangeably and seem to do exactly as the show heeds against heavily; conglomerating the actions of a FEW to encompass the overall worthiness of a WHOLE POPULATION OF PEOPLE.

Doctor Meridian is wrong and genuinely evil and disturbing with how he treats them and him seeing them as dangerous and a pest needing to be eradicated nor should any of his views be agreed upon, no matter how much you may try to defend him. There's more I could add but for simplicity's sake but that's what I mainly will state. The rest of clarity can be discussed in the comments.

I'm not sure whether your lack of understanding of the show and its messaging you are discussing or your love for one of the major villains is clouding your judgement, but please read EVERYTHING here to its fullest extent. Nothing here is intended as an attack on your character (if you're somehow seeing it that way) but as a heavy critique of your views on this show and how you are analyzing things. I might sound like I'm yapping to yap or "it's not that deep", but it literally is. The show and it's writing make it a big point and I will refuse to accept any iteration of "you're making a mountain out of a molehill" type statements. If you have any questions or comments you're free to bring them up.

-Footnotes- *By group of people, I refer to sapient (human minded) beings who are grouped by either race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, etc. By this classification, Transformers are considered a group of people; even if they are "nonhuman" *If you are somehow seriously confused or appalled by me pointing out real world racism and xenophobia as parallels to what is being done by GHOST, Dr. Meridian, and your average run of the mill civilian, you need to reread absolutely everything. Racism and xenophobia are a huge talking point in the show and I refuse to retract this statement. *Cold Constructed means the transformer was made in a factory, more often than not to be a worker slave for whoever is demanding they be produced. Two characters off the top of my head who are cold constructed is Starscream and Megatron.

I just finished watching Earthspark (for now) and I'm not even kidding when i tell you

I LOVE dramatic character entrances, I've seen a ton and when I see one it makes me giddy and ACTUALLY jump around, stand up, and yell in my room (like Football dads.) It's peak. YOU KNOW IT'S PEAK WHEN I SAY IT'S PEAK I thought TFA had top-tier entrances (I'm a sucker for 2d animation). THIS TAKES THE CAKE. The whole fucking bakery

It's cinematic, it's fucking awesome, it's during a time of semi-crisis, it's the bad guys coming to save the day and stealing the show cause lets be honest the Decepticons are better in every way (except for Wheeljack and Grimlock they are THE main characters), IT'S FUCKING DECEPTICONS RIDING A DECEPTICON.

THEY ARE THE GUYS. It's the THREE DEFINITIONS of HIM. They know they're the fucking best and they're rocking that.

TFE RANT (also spoilers)

Okay, so for those of you who haven't heard of Transformers Earth Spark, it's basically a show where the cybertronian War is technically over and now cybertronians are trying to get used to the life on earth. But they are completely treated like they are animals. If you want to watch the show yourself then go right ahead it should be on Amazon Prime or on Paramount Plus because this will contain spoilers for the first season and the 2nd season so feel free to skip this.

Well, near the end of the last episode of season 1 of Earth Spark they all decided to work together with the Decepticons to take down mandroid, the main antagonist of season 1. There was also two episodes where one of the Decepticons started to have a relationship with the Malto family. Like for example

See how these two GIFs are completely wholesome? Infact, the first season teaches that even though somebody could be on the opposite side of things that doesn't initially mean that they are a bad guy completely, just misunderstood.

It teaches that everyone can have a second chance if they really try but not everyone can really get that second chance.

And then season 2 comes around,

And BOY was I pissed off about it.

Now I haven't watched season 2 myself but I have watched one episode in it and that's it. remember that I said that the Decepticons finally decided to fight Mandroid thanks to Twitch and that some of the Terrans actually had some decent relationships with some of the Decepticons?

Well season two just completely THROWS ALL OF IT OUT OF THE FUCKING WINDOW!!!

When I watch season 2 I thought it was going to be all cool and hype and I thought everyone was just overreacting over season 2. NOPE! THEY HAD THE RIGHT TO BE UPSET! Because one episode in and I was immediately flashed banged with shock. Robby was explaining after 2 years of like saving cybertronians from Mandroid's destruction the quintus prime Stone (I don't remember what it's called) kind of shattered into like thousands of pieces across the globe. He then says that the Decepticons help them to retrieve them but then they decided to turn on them and get the shards for themselves. EVEN THOUGH THE FIRST SEASON SAID THAT NOT ALL DECEPTICONS ARE BAD!!

Like where did this even come from!? And why make them back into villains when we already saw the shot of them HELPING TWITCH AND HER FAM FROM KILLING ALL CYBERTRONIANS!? Like, what is the point of this!? If you're just going to make them bad guys anyway, why give the Terrans a chance to understand them and sympathize with the 'cons!? You had such a good new take on the Transformers yet you decided to throw away that said good take and just take it back to square one!

WHAT THE HELL HASBRO!?

And don't get me started with Bumblebee's relationship with Breakdown. You clearly set them up to be best buddies and then you just set that friendship arc on fire and just went on the 'Con vs 'Bot arc again. But the part that pisses me off the most is Starscream's abandon arc. Earthspark *clearly* wanted to make this Starscream as sympathetic as possible and this could have worked well. IF THEY DIDNT MAKE HIM THE MAIN VILLIAN IN SEASON 2!

And I guess prowl appearing in season 3 is kind of nice but it would have been better if he was like the villain instead of Starscream. If they were going to be good Decepticons then there has to be bad Autobots. But hey, Hasbro isnt keen on keeping promises are you Hasbro?

God, you had such a good idea and you just had to ruin it with season 2 and 3. I hope the rumors of Earthspark getting canceled are true thanks to this.

Also, GIVE US A TRUELY, ACTUAL, HEROIC, SYMPATHETIC STARSCREAM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! **AND DONT FUCK IT UP THIS TIME!!!**

i just wanted to say i appreciate you still fighting the good fight when it comes to the quality of earthspark. i often feel like i step into the twilight zone when i check the tag here to see the common sentiment being "ES is bad Only Now and we pretend like s2 didn't happen" as if s1 also wasn't bogged down by absurd, questionable writing. i remember by the second drop of episodes, my friends and i went from being joyfully optimistic to like "? well that's kinda weird" to "what the hell are they doing" as more came out (i could probably write 15k words about tarantulas butchery alone lmao). so, it's refreshing to see similar critiques out there in the sea, because i find it uniquely vexing amongst tf cartoons in having interesting ideas that fail spectacularly almost every step of the way

I remember when the last batch of S1 dropped and how a few other users and I were treated as outliers for daring to criticize the writing. I was so excited to see it that I woke up at 3 am only to be disappointed by the end.

The sad thing is that I wish I didn't have as many critiques about the show as I do. I remember watching the series premiere and thinking that it was going to end up being my favorite TF show as well as one of my favorite cartoons. I say this often, but ES is a perfect example of great idea terrible execution. It annoys me when I see people using the 'it's a kids show!' to excuse the writing quality when Rescue Bots exists and is for a younger audience than ES.

As an example, RB also has the theme of family except that it doesn't try to beat the audience to death with it the way ES does. The writing in ES straight up treats the audience like idiots and expects/hopes that no one questions anything. The way the themes were handled in Home was black and white moral insanity.

Me being such a huge fan of Mandroid has a lot to do with the fact that the writing suddenly gets competent when he appears. It's to the point where it's like he was added in from a better written show.

Okay wait, who the hell is supposed to be the villain of the next batch of Earthspark episodes?

Because correct me if I’m wrong, which I might be since it’s been like 2 months since Season 3 came out, the Quintessons are pretty dead by the end of it, I don’t think they can come back. I’m also not sure if this next batch will be Season 3 part 2 or Season 4, but if it’s the former, then frankly I’m even more confused since I feel like the final boss of the season should connect to the mid season one. But again, the state of the Quintessons

I mean if it’s Season 3 part 2, then my best guess is someone else from space, likely Cybertron? Again it’s been a while since I’ve seen the season, but I do recall a lot of attention on Cybertron, with Prowl being sent from there and the Decepticons on Earth taking Prowl’s ship to return there. So I feel like logically, Cybertron will be incorporated more

Personally I think it’d be pretty cool if the new villain was like, a new ruler of the Decepticons that took over after the destruction of the space bridge. Granted, that’s mostly because I want to see the conflict for Megatron in that scenario. But it’d also be interesting if it were the Cybertronian Autobots, that don’t agree with the ideals of the ones on Earth anymore, and/or cause issues for the Terrans and Megatron, being the former Decepticon leader. I don’t know, there’s things you can do with it

But also since we’re here, I’m really noticing the weirdness of the final villains. In each Season 1 batch, it was Mandroid and his machinations, they were all consistent. Then in Season 2, it’s Starscream with Terratronus. Then in Season 3, it’s the Quintessons, which did have some buildup in Season 2, sure, but it’s got very little to do with the villains of last season. And now the Quintessons are completely gone, so who’s the villain now, especially if there’s more Season 3 to go? I have to assume the next villain is gonna have little to do with the Quintessons then

I mean I guess Mandroid doesn’t have much to do with the other main villains as well, outside of his involvement with hunting Decepticons but that doesn’t come up much I don’t think. But like, within the same time span it took to finally defeat Mandroid, we’ll have had 3 completely separate villains

And also, I don’t feel like you have the Quintessons as a mid-season boss, at least not in the fashion we finished them off, that’s season finale treatment. How are you supposed to top that?

But quite frankly, I have to assume the next villain will be in space, because with Terratronus fully awakened and on the good guy side, how are any threats supposed to stop them now?

Transformers EarthSpark Season 2 Spoilers

If I had to describe S2A in one word, it would be: Disappointing.

Others have said this before me, but if you were a fan of S1 this most definitely isn't the show for you anymore.

S2A is so far inferior to S1 in every conceivable way. The animation, the characters, the story, it all just feels so half-assed. Every single interesting concept S1 introduced, S2A either mangled beyond belief or flat-out erased from existence.

The few new interesting things that do come up in S2A don't last long and/or are underdeveloped.

Tensions between humans and Cybertronians? Never mentioned. All the racism died with Mandroid and GHOST, I guess.

The Terrans' connection to Quintus Prime? Pfft, you're still on that? It's all about the Quintessons now, keep up nerd!

Starscream's development and start on the road to recovery from trauma? Gone. He's back to being the villain now for no reason whatsoever. He murders two actual children. What, did you think we were still doing that silly nuance thing from S1? Lol, sucks to be you.

The ongoing theme about the Transformer War not being as black and white as history would have people believe? Ummm, ackshually, the Decepticons are inherently evil and irredeemable. The Autobots are saints and have never done anything wrong or questionable, ever. Ignore the prison complex from last season that performed unethical experiments on prisoners of war. Y'know that same one that the Autobots knew about and supplied with Decepticon prisoners.

Spitfire and Aftermath are interesting in theory, but S2A doesn't really do anything with them besides making them the generic Evil Twin characters to Twitch and Jawbreaker respectively. And then Starscream murders them for his evil masterplan, which feels like a colossal waste.

I've been saying since S1 that it would be interesting to have a Terran actually choose the Decepticons over both the Autobots and the Maltos. It would've been a neat way to explore the family dynamic the 'Cons have compared to the Maltos and maybe show that just because a family is different from yours, maybe not as physically affectionate or as instantly harmonious, doesn't mean it's worse. We had a good start with Aftermath and Breakdown but that never really goes anywhere before Starscream does a Fuck Them Kids.

The Decepticons are just evil again now. Great. I guess we're completely throwing the "history isn't black-and-white" thing out of the window, huh? That whole thing where it was implied the Decepticons were rising up against an unjust system a la Aligned continuity and IDW? We kind of had a very significant confrontation between Megatron and Shockwave about that in that one episode that even explicitly referenced IDW? Or how about the whole "This is not freedom" plot line about how mayyybe throwing every Decepticon in the slammer forever might be, just might be, bad? We had a whole episode about that? Soundwave was in it?

Nah, 'Cons are unambiguously evil. Always. Especially that no-good Starscream. "What Dwells Within" and "The Last Hope, Part 2" might as well have never happened, because Starscream sure as hell doesn't act like they did. He barely even interacts with Hashtag. "Come on, did you expect Starscream to be a good guy now?" No bitch, I expected believable character development. I find it hard to believe that the same Starscream who saved Hashtag from the Cybertronian equivalent of a vampire, at risk to his own life, and then told her to take care of herself as a good-bye would just suddenly go back to the same moustache-twirling evilness we'd be expecting from G1 Starscream. You expect me to buy that this guy is the same Starscream as the one who showed up with the entire cavalry to save the world in the S1 finale?? Why go through the trouble of giving Starscream an entire episode going into his trauma and abuse and learning to be better if this is all it amounts to in the end??? At least show us how it happened? What made Starscream suddenly completely regress like that??? I don't know and the way it's going I don't think EarthSpark is all that interested in explaining it.

The Maltos remain a criminally underdeveloped hive mind. And no, I don't consider adding even more powers to their arsenal character development. Robbie and Mo still don't have any friends outside of their siblings and this season did nothing to change my mind on the cybersleeve connection being borderline creepy and making the characters co-dependent. "The Butterfly Effect" basically showed us all the reasons why having your siblings in your head 24/7 with no way to turn it off would actually suck. Cybersynching is so obviously combining with a new coat of paint and it's not even used or utilized that much in this batch.

We did not need the Quintessons in this season. At all. They added nothing except implying that Quintus Prime is shady af. Which, we been knew? The whole of "Prime Time" is literally Quintus torturing a little girl for being upset her big brother is sick and probably dying. If you wanted to explore Quintus through one of his creations seeing him in a much less benevolent light, well, how do I put this? There were two whole new characters added this season you could've done this with. Aftermath and Spitfire not being in the "We Love Quintus Prime" club together with the rest of the Terrans would make sense, since they're far more rebellious and anti-authoritarian. That would've given them something interesting to do besides being minor nuisances to the Delightful Maltos from Down the Lane.

I've heard that EarthSpark isn't doing well both in ratings and in toy sales and after that first batch I can see why.

The show is not all bad, but legit none of these characters are developed enough or distinct enough that I could see a kid wanting a toy of them. And that goes double for older fans.

The writers messed up big time and I honestly don't know if I'm gonna stay and see if they fix it in S2B.

It only got worse when you did arrive and no one was home, however Breakdown was settled in the barn and bunker. After the events with Mandroid, both autobots and decepticons tried to work together and fix the space bridge back to cybertron, which of course was going to take time.

Bumblebee and Breakdown were friends, brothers, and the Malto's offered him to stay which he accepted.

You knew him because you used to work for GHOST. You somehow started talking with Breakdown from his cell, and that’s how you both got to know each other.

You always suspected something wasn’t right within GHOST but by the time you were going to expose the truth all hell broke loose, but you managed to helped the decepticons escape and the terrans to defeat mandroid.

Breakdown kept you safe, helped you even in return. You grew to like him, perhaps a little more than you should've but this you never revealed to anyone.

Now here you were, soaking wet, freezing and stuck. At least you had shelter and company, could've been much worse.

"Thank you, Breakdown. I really shouldn't have driven in this weather. I'm not having the best day at all." You could only let out a soft laugh as you entered the barn and head into the bunker with Breakdown tailing behind.

"It's alright. Guess Dot forgot to tell you she was taking the family away on some weekend thing. Bumblebee did invite me but not my sort of thing."

"I can only hope this storm isn't affecting their weekend." You let out a shaky breath before looking down at yourself. "Shit. I think Dot keeps some clothes in the bunker, in case of an emergency. I need to warm up. You sure you don't mind the company?" You check, not wanting to be a burden to him.

"Nah, I enjoy your company. You're alright."

You beam softly, feeling flattered as you get some dry clothes out for yourself. "I'm nothing special."

"I think you're a pretty special lady." Breakdown chuckles lightly.

This causes you to blush a little. He's called you many things before, including that, but it just hit you differently today.

From the moment you became cell buddies he's been kind to you. He was nothing like the other decepticons. What made you all so different?

"You're very kind, Breakdown." You say before you start to undress.

Breakdown saw what you is doing and couldn't tear his optics away. "You didn't. I mean...sorry, I didn't mean to stare." He tells you, optics lining over your ass, unable to pry his optics off from you.

"I'm so stupid." You felt like slapping yourself.

"Y/N, hey, you're not stupid." Breakdown tries to tell you as he shifts closer. "I mean, for a human, you have a fascinating figure. I've been thinking about you a lot, and having reckless thoughts."

Hearing this got you to turn your head to face him, realising he was much closer now. His amber optics were so alluring.

"What kind of reckless thoughts?" You ask, nerves building up in you a little. Yeah, you've had thoughts too, but surely he isn't having the same thoughts as you, right?

Breakdown tries to find the right words. "Scrap. Putting me on the spot hey? Well, I like you, Y/N."

"I...I like you too, Breakdown." You say back, turning a little more in front of him. Does he feel the same about you as you do for him? "What are you thinking now?"

"I thought you liked danger." You can't help but smirk softly as you start stepping closer. "What's got you worried?"

So he's talked to Bumblebee about whatever was going on with himself. You thought that was good, knowing that he trusted Bumblebee and you did as well.

"Then don't express or talk. Just do it." You hear yourself say that with a small shrug.

He stares at you, optics warning. "That sounds reckless."

"I thought you already were. What's stopping you?" You step even closer, feeling the warmth radiating from him against your cold skin.

"I don't want to hurt you." This confession got you to reach out to him and touch his servo under your palm.

"You could never hurt me. I trust you."

Breakdown likes the feel of you touching his servo, distracting him a little, but he hears what you said and that's what got him doing something, definitely reckless.

Gently, he scoops you up under his servo and brings you close to his chassis. You held onto his digit, staring at him curiously, wondering what his next move might be.

He walks over to where he had been recharging in the bunker, his own setup, and sat down with his back pressed against the wall while keeping you in his servo and close against him.

It is you that touches his face, hand sliding across his bright orange cheek plating, and you smile warmly seeing him lean into your touch with his optics closed, a low groan leaving him.

"Y/N, I fear there won't be any going back after this, whatever happens now." He warns you once more.

He brought you closer to his face and leaned forward, pressing his lips against your own. Because of your size difference he was gentle, tender, as his large lips moved across your own.

Transformers Earthspark: Personal Changes

I figured I should write this as I plan to write stuff on it. Transformers Earthspark, an show with interesting concepts despite the mixed execution. I honestly like some of the ideas proposed by it in Season 1 as they aren't actually bad. We rarely get a post war setting for the series since most writers prefer the standard formula and the Terrans hold potential when you remember that Cybertronian are an endangered species whose numbers have only decreased due to war.

This is mainly a simplified list on what changes you'll see in my work involving Earthspark. Points with an asterisk * are new.

Dot doesn't allow her kids to become child soldiers. She wouldn't have a problem if it was self defense lessons as there are people who don't like Cybertronians or will harm her family for the Terrans' nature. Otherwise, the Maltobots are allowed to learn about Cybertron's history and culture.

Megatron is a rogue with the personality of an asshole cat. (Murderous nature partly fizzled out for causing problems to people he dislikes.) The Decepticons had fallen apart after a nasty dispute and gone their own ways. Megatron vanished once GHOST began to hunt any bot not aligned with them. He hides out at the Maltos upon discovering a massive plot that would put all Cybertronian life in danger.

Bumblebee remains rogue as his trust in Optimus is in tatters. He gets involved with the Maltos under the same reason Megatron does and is responsible for the Terrans' self defense training. (Megs handles their history/culture.) Tendency to have war flashbacks.

No Emberstone saves or Prime reverence. Mo is traumatized by Quintus' false reality dream and doesn't like the Cyber Sleeves anymore. Jawbreaker alongside Thrash help with her trauma. Scars are prone to occur alongside the chance of life changing injuries for everyone.

GHOST Autobots have a tense relationship revolving Optimus. This only grows once Bumblebee's current location becomes known. Optimus often questions if he made the right choice as he looks at the unanswered orders involving his rogue Autobots.

Decepticons begin to reform under a new cause. The preservation and protection of the Cybertronian race as GHOST attacks intensify. Starscream leads them under an anti-hero alignment since they will do things the Autobots won't to keep themselves alive. (Think Venom or A-Team.)

Fighting between siblings specifically Robby vs Mo, Twitch vs Thrash, and Jawbreaker finally snaps. I seen potential conflict involving these five that no way in hell is gonna be ignored under my watch. Nightshade and Hashtag act like mediators at times but some fights can't be dissolved so easily.

More enemies for each respective group alongside painful clashes such as Bumblebee vs Optimus. Flora/fauna mutated by Energon, bad Autobots like Pharma/Sunder, and more volatile Decepticons like Astrotrain. No one is having fun when shit hits the fan.

Disabilities like Dot's prosthetic leg are on display. Mandroid slowly gone insane due to Energon poisoning through his experiments as once neutral views regarding Cybertronians were corrupted. First exposure is creation of the Arachnamechs. His students' death amidst the friendly fire tips him over the edge. *

Experiments involving humans and Cybertronians herald by Mandroid. Most of his Energon induced is a result from trying to hybridize both in some way. He eventually forgets about Alex after the second confrontation. Examples: Synthetic blood that boosts healing, skin which repairs through Cybertronian nanites, etc. *

Karen and Agent Schloder are distant with each other. The former isolating herself despite the latter's attempts to reach out. He works at GHOST to keep an eye on her but soon realizes Croft is a lost cause. *

Alex begin to tone down his obsession involving Bumblebee after awhile. He realizes it makes the bot uncomfortable and bring back awful memories. Bumblebee is still Alex's favorite but it is on a healthy level. *

Dad #2 is addressed properly to the Terrans. They learn that not everyone would be okay with the term or might not be someone they can trust. Parental figures is a concept the kids want to understand better so any further issues and discomfort are avoided. *

Terrans are taught Escrima alongside various aspects of Filipino culture. Everyone has their own different style towards the martial art and interests in other cultures were broaden. Dot often picks up books for them. *

The Emberstone is a chaotic manifestation of evolution without proper containment. It often causes trouble for the Maltos by spawning monsters, mutate nearby wildlife or producing twisted visuals for them to adapt against. The last disturbance results in Wheeljack showing up to contain the artifact. *

After the season finale, Twitch remains half blind as her body rejects any replacements offered by both former factions. She learns to live with her disability and alters her Drone alt mode to add a visual guide to further help. It takes quite a while for Twitch to thrive after multiple mishaps. *

That's all I could think of at the moment but will expand the list should more be added or changes are needed.

*Pops into the asks* HELLO!! I saw Citizenshark's comment that mentioned how the Tumblr and Twitter fans treat Dabi in MHA, and I have been saying this to all of my friends! The fact that I was watching BOTH Earthspark and MHA at the time, that I saw how BOTH shows were literally making the same narrative mistakes in their unique ways, was a horrifying experience honestly.

Even the fandom's reaction to these shows poor ways of handling these themes are eerily similar, yet unique too! It really didn't help that Earthspark has a MHA easter egg in Robby's room in the form of that poster! It's insane how these abusers kept getting redemption arcs and abuse victims get treated as being WORSE than them despite the OBVIOUS power dynamics saying otherwise! In fact, that's the main issue with these shows: they ignore the blatant power dynamics that the abusers have over their victims.

Megatron and Endeavor are literally characters with the most power in their abusive relationships with their family/groups. Megatron was literally the leader of the Decepticon faction, the one in charge, the one with the power that kept all of the Decepticon soldiers in line. The way they act, the rules they follow, who was put on the commanding positions to keep the faction in line as they acted was all in Megatron's control. Even if he decided to defect, MOST OF THE FACTION WOULD FOLLOW. You don't become a leader if you don't have loyal followers!

Endeavor is literally the one in charge of the family; he's the bread winner, he's the one with a strong reputation in public as the #2 hero. This man was introduced to the audience as an abuser. The story SHOWED the effects it had on the family's mentality, and even gave a peek in how he treated his family through flashbacks. With Japan's culture and how MHA's world was portrayed, the fact that Dabi ended up a villain was quite literally Endeavor's doing! Both of these character's redemptions even happened after they either got everything they wanted, or because the story was clearly playing favoritism!

Addressing your point about Megatron:

This quote of yours makes no sense considering the show explicitly states that most of the Cons (especially Soundwave and Shockwave) view Megatron as a traitor because he defected.

It's very obvious that the show wants the audience to fawn over the exwarlord so they push the 'sad old man realizes he fucked up' angle. In general, the show has a heavy bias for Cons.

About OP:

I'm not sure why you're surprised at how some of the fandom treats OP considering the show literally goes out of its way to make him into a butt monkey so that Megatron looks better. It's to the point that it's 100% canon Dot's dislike of OP is because he's awkward and tries too hard. We're talking about a character that stressed the importance of keeping the Terrans existence a secret from GHOST, yet brings them into the base despite there being cameras. Even Mandroid wonders what the hell OP is doing.
