A very small amount of renegades Halloween headcanons that are probably not original

one year for halloween adrain dresses up as nightmare and nova dresses up as the sentinel. after that it became a popular couples costume.

ruby and oscar always go ALL OUT for halloween. they always have the best costume. they always match their costumes too.

nova would always have a horror movie marathon with the anarchists so now she and leroy spend most of halloween watching horror movies together on the couch.

for max's first halloween he has adrian design him an AMAZING costume and makes adrian, nova, and his dads decorate the ENTIRE house. oscar and ruby help because they love halloween.

She let out a deafening scream, moving back until her wall touched the stone, icy wall. “No!” she let out, as if begging for the man to stop. All she saw was a gleam of his right fang before she jumped, feeling his fingers wrap around her sides before pulling her close to him. 

“No!” she squealed again. It was too late. A moment later, her screams were filled with giggles as she struggled against his hold. “ORSON! QUIT TICKLING ME!” Hannah Marie screamed before she noticed Scary Godmother floating into the living room with a plate of spider silk cookies.

“Orson,” Scary Godmother tsked with a chuckle, “let Hannah Marie go.” Orson let out his own laugh before letting go of his favorite human.

“Ah, Scary, I just missed her. I haven’t seen her all semester,” he jokingly whined. Hannah Marie is in college now. She was always in class during the day and too busy either studying or sleeping to make her way to the Fright Side. Sadly, Orson couldn’t help much either. Daylight on the human side was dangerous, and he had his own Night Classes he was attending at his own college.

“I missed you too,” she promised, stepping out of his arms to fix her costume. This year, she dressed as her favorite witch - Scary Godmother. Hannah Marie had put on a messy red wig, a witch costume, and bat wings. She even had a black bag with a white stuffed kitten sticking out to represent Boozle. If she could fly, Skully would have taken a second look.

“Oh, Hannah Marie, you look cute,” Scary Godmother cooed, looking at Hannah Marie as if she was her own daughter. Everyone on the Fright Side loved Hannah, she just seemed to fit perfectly in their lives.

“It is a little uncanny,” Skully said, coming out of the kitchen with a plate of finger sandwiches. One sandwich was still twitching. Hannah ignored that.

“Do you two need any help?” Hannah asked, smiling a little. “The party starts in an hour, right?”

“No, thank you,” Scary Godmother smiled softly. “Boo and Harry should be here soon.”

“My parents too. I only came early to see you.” He gave a shrug, not wearing a costume this year. He was wearing a BloodyVeins T-shirt, his broommate’s band.

“Are the kids coming?” Skully asked, meaning the kids that bullied Hannah all those years ago. Hannah had made peace with them and her cousin Jimmy. They had gone to each Halloween Party since.

“Bert and Jimmy will be here. Katie and Daryl aren’t taking the baby out this year,” Hannah explained.

As if by cartoon magic, Bug-a-boo made his way out of the basement, letting out an excited monstrous growl, “HANNAH!” Bug always treated Hannah Marie like his broommate’s surrogate daughter. “Bug!” She squealed out, running over to get a hug from her favorite fuzzy monster. “I almost didn’t recognize you,” he chuckled, taking in her costume. “Happy Halloween, Hannah.”

“Thank you, Bug-a-boo,” she smiled. It’s almost silly to think that she feared him ten years ago. Now she couldn’t wait to get back into the world of monsters. She often preferred Frightzone to her actual home. Scary Godmother’s door rang. Orson looked over to the door - knowing it was his parents. Scary Godmother flew over to invite them in.

“Hey, Mom! Hey, Dad!” Orson greeted them, standing beside Hannah now that Bug wasn’t hogging her.

“Hello, Darling,” Ruby greeted before pulling Hannah away to get a hug. “Oh, Dear, you have gotten so big. So beautiful. Don’t you think so, Darling?” Ruby asked Orson. Orson would be blushing if it wasn’t for his whole being dead thing. Max moved to stand beside Ruby, giving her a nod.

“Great, now all we are missing is Harr-” the door opened to show a wolf walking in. He did a double take, seeing not one but two Scary Godmothers. It was like a terrible nightmare. “What? Why would the universe curse me with two b-” he noticed both of the Scary Godmothers giving him a death glare, “er... Witches.”

“It’s me, Hannah.” Hannah rolled her eyes, shaking her head a little.

“Anyway, perfect timing. Let’s open the door for Jimmy and Bert!” the real Scary Godmother said, moving to open her door to get ready for the human guests.

well to start, Baby is not an enigma at all! she's just this.

Given that there is some canon discrepancy in earlier-seasons interviews where Kripke (I believe???) said that John only got Baby in the mid-late 80s, I would guess that at some time around then, John drove drunk and wrapped his ACTUAL black '67 Chevrolet Impala around a tree, attracting the attention of a pooka who got much more than she bargained for. I'm not sure if she could have freed herself at any time, but either way I think she kinda chose to stay for Sam & Dean, probably doing things (like leaving money on the seats, keeping the car warm or even giving direct advice/comfort since children can often see fae, but usually forget as they get older) that Dean, as a YOUNG CHILD, could not have done to keep his INFANT BROTHER alive. She obviously cares a lot for them, and probably took the brunt of the various car accidents they've been in.

Her name is interesting however. It could link her to the Badb (pronounced "Baeve"), The Morrigan's war goddess aspect whose name means "Battle-crow". (I considered whether she may be the ACTUAL Badb, but decided no, as Badb is not known to suffer fools for long, or at all, and responds to any mistreatment or slight with clear and violent retribution. tldr if it was the Badb she wouldve left John dead on the side of the road within a day, and taken Sam & Dean back to the Fae realms to raise them herself. ...all things considered this would have likely been very good for Sam & Dean bc as things stand now they don't know wtf they are)

Baby's name (or title, to be clear if she HAS a true name we're never gonna know it) might also be "Bebinn" or "Be Binn" (pronounced "Beivin" , two forms of old Gaelic title meaning "beautiful woman"/"fair lady". apparently the name may have links to an underworld goddess and/or the sister of a certain river goddess (oh wow, what a shock...), but given that the cultural traditions this is all from were wiped out pretty well by Christianity, its very hard to say.

there are also some interesting etymological and thematic links to Queen Mab (Maeve), but that's a whole other thing about Shakespearean inside jokes & middle-english linguistics. while I've never heard Maeve described as a pooka, there's a weird tradition of fictional & irl horses named after her for various other Complicated Literary Reasons, make of that whatever you will.

so uh yeah thats what Baby's deal is. I think she's ok with being called "Baby" and given the way Fae are w names I don't know why that ever surprised me. I'm not sure whether she even minds being a car 24/7, given that so many pookas preferred form was a horse back when horses were the most common mode of transportation. I think she just likes to go fast.

...she scares me lmao. she's almost definitely the oldest member of Team Free Will aside from Cas. like she's probably centuries and centuries old.

which oc of urs do u think would get along the best with fibula... personally i think he'd have the best first impression of ruby but only because he's fond of halloween monster-types. since, you know, he is one. her personality probably wouldn't gel with his antics though LOL

YEAH Ruby would not trust him at all. She'd probably be really weirded out by him too. It's not every day you meet a zombie. Also he'd smell weird to her. Like dead but also not really? And the sheer amount of Chaos energy inside him would probably be enough for her to smell too (she has a very sensitive nose) so he probably smells like. Irradiated to her lmao. Dark Gaia and Chaos energies don't mix well so it might just make her physically sick actually. Bad vibes all around. She keeps her distance

Melany and Max would stare at him weird. Not just bc he's a zombie but bc they can see his soul and it's probably Fucked Up. But it's like fucked up in a way they've never seen before so they're very curious. Also they're probably curious abt the whole zombie thing bc as far as they knew resurrection like that was just straight up impossible. I can see them (mostly Mel) asking a bunch of questions like excited little kittens (they like morbid stuff)

Nox would try to capture and disect him. Or try to inject him with Dark Gaia energy to see how it reacts to his body (it'd probably be Very Very Bad)

Livewire is chill as long as he doesn't hurt anyone close to them. They probably find him and his decapitation trick funny and would kick his head like a football if given the chance

Elysium would be. Quiet. It's not like it's very talkative in the first place but it recognizes Eggman's work when it sees it, and finds it hard to trust him (valid, considering he's actively working for Eggman and causing trouble). Would probably try to get Livewire to convince him to leave since it can't on its own. But ultimately it's Fib's choice and from what I know I think it'll take a lot more to convince him to switch sides

So in conclusion I think Livewire or the twins would be the best candidates for being friends with Fibula but he can potentially have very fun and interesting interactions with the others. Thank you for coming to my ted talk
