The Look

Title: The Look
Pairing: Meredith Grey x Reader
Prompt: 10. Somebody taking an off-guard picture of you staring at each other, completely in love.
R
WC: 957
Whenever Y/n had walked into the hospital, everybody was talking and whispering about something. She was pretty sure that nothing was going on that day out of the ordinary. There weren't supposed to be any new faces, which was usually the only time whenever the hospital staff got like that. Something had to have happened with people who already work there. Y/n had been trying hard to be above the gossip, so she refrained from asking around about what was going on. Instead, she focused on her research project that she was working on with Dr. Grey. If there was one place where the gossip was unlikely to spread, it was the lab where everybody was focused and on their absolute best behavior. They had another grant proposal coming up and wanted that money to finish their project.
"Oh my god, they are so doing the thing," Amelia muttered. Y/n glanced over to where Amelia and a few of the other doctors on the project were looking over test results. Y/n's job was essentially to run the equipment and administer the tests. She didn't understand what everything on those result papers meant, but nobody else could really use the machine like she could. It balanced things out. Y/n was finally a valued member of a team instead of the doctor that they sent to do the easy work because of her specialty. It wasn't useful in most scenarios, but medical school had never really been Y/n's plan. She had always been a mechanics and engineering person.
"That look is so cute," one of the interns muttered. Amelia nodded in agreement, and Y/n tried to ignore them. Meredith was doing a much better job than Y/n was. Meredith wanted to know how to use the machine, so she spent most of her time in the lab leaning over Y/n's shoulder watching her work. Y/n liked the proximity of Meredith to her. There was something about Meredith that made Y/n feel calm. Y/n felt like she did her best work underneath Dr. Grey's watchful eye.
"They're chatty today," Meredith whispered as she pointed to the files that she wanted Y/n to open up for her. Y/n let Meredith look over the older results to compare them to the newer ones. There had been vast improvement with quite a few of the patients, something that made Y/n so proud of herself and everybody they worked with. They were on the verge of figuring out how to improve people's lives for the better. Deterioration of the mind would no longer be the horrid thing that it was for so many people in the world anymore.
"Everybody has been chatty, since I walked this morning. I wonder what's going on?"
"The pictures from the promotional shoots that Bailey and Webber decided to do arrived. I'm surprised nobody talked to you about it, apparently you're the most photogenic person here," Meredith said with a small smile. Y/n let out a little huff of air. She wanted to be better than to need to look at the stupid pictures, but now she was curious. Y/n glanced up at Meredith with her best puppy dog eyes and pout before she even started to ask Meredith if she could go to the website to look at the pictures. "Go ahead, I know there's some of me in there too. I need to make sure that I look good."
Y/n pulled up the hospital's website and looked at the new image gallery that had been added. All of the pictures looked good, and were mostly generic shots of things going on at the hospital. It wasn't until Y/n stumbled upon a picture of her staring at Meredith with the biggest set of heart eyes she had ever seen that she realized what all the gossip was about. Everybody had seen the way that Y/n looked at Meredith, her secret was out. She was about to become the laughing stock of the whole hospital because she had a big, stupid crush on Meredith Grey.
"I love this picture of you. You look so focused and passionate. I wish that everybody felt this way about the things they were working on. The world would be a much better place," Meredith said. She glanced down at Y/n and smiled, which did help to relax Y/n a little. "Do you remember what you were doing?"
"You were trying to explain to me what the first bunch of results meant. If I'm being honest, I don't think I was paying attention to a word that you said," Y/n admitted. Meredith blushed as she scrolled to the next picture. They were pretty run of the mill, until they got to a picture that had been taken in the lab while Meredith was watching over Y/n at the computer. Y/n looked a little wild as she explained what she was doing with the next set of tests, but it was Meredith that Y/n couldn't stop staring at. In that picture, Meredith was looking at Y/n just like Y/n had been looking at her earlier. "Do you spend all day staring at me back there?"
"Not all day, but I will admit that sometimes my eyes drift a little," Meredith said. Y/n's boldness ended there, but Meredith's had just begun to pick up. "I'd love to look at you some time outside of this room. This angle is nice and all, but I think you'd better sitting across from me at a candlelight dinner."
"Dr. Grey, you sure do know how to make a woman swoon."

 Hi, can you do a meredith grey x reader where meredith can’t decide who to pick between reader and Derek. Then she makes her decision once she sees her come into the hospital after she get injured? Please?
Tumblr media
...
Decisions are made every day.
Important and unimportant, big or small. Everyone makes countless decisions every day. Choices affect our daily lives, but most do not have the strength or power to fundamentally change our lives.
Most of the decisions are too mundane to draw much attention to themselves, but some feel like a rockfall, tearing up at every hill and forming a spider´s web across the entire windshield. So also the important decision about love, in which Meredith Grey stood between two of her co-workers and did not know what to do.
She knew that love is an extremely sensitive construct and playing with it can lead to catastrophic consequences, the balance between colleagues at a workplace could be disturbed and any conscious intervention or change should therefore be carefully considered.
But how should she think about the consequences of this important step if she could not even decide between Derek and you in the first place?
"Grey!" the chief of surgery seemed in high spirits as she snuck up on the blonde. Meredith tried to mimic the sympathetic smile of her as best she could, but it did not look very convincing. "Why are you making that face? Do you not have work to do?"
"Bailey," she grunted out between clenched teeth, giving her a slanted but fixed look, which met up with a skeptical one. Sighing, the black-haired rolled her eyes in frustration and sat down on the couch next to the younger surgeon. "What is bothering you?"
The addressee shrugged and concentrated herself on a single floor tile. The corners of her mouth painfully clenched, automatically drooped as she leaned back on the sofa and took a deep breath.
There had to be a way of finding out who she loved more.
What Meredith could decide, though, was whether to let Miranda Bailey in on it. She could be some help to her. Or a tripwire that ultimately put her on the wrong track. The blonde pondered about it for a moment before beginning her cryptic narrative. "Two people. You have to choose one and hurt the other, risking that nothing will be the same ever again. Who do you choose?"
"When you get up in the morning, who do you think of first? Who do you want to write or see first?" the young blonde heard her boss ask, hearing seriousness and conviction in her soft voice. "Who makes you happy? Who makes your heart beat faster?"
Instantly, she felt every fiber of her body automatically screaming for you, forming your name in every synapse of her brain. Tiny memories of your time together surfaced like pictures in front of her inner eye and melted with feelings of pure love.
"Y/n," she spoke deliberately calmly and Bailey gave her a questionable look before her lips curled into a smile. Meredith´s eyes reflected happiness and she had to admit that only the briefest of advice from Miranda Bailey got her on.
She was really good. Better than good, indescribable.
The young surgeon quickly jumped up from her seat, looked confused for her cell phone that had fallen between the cracks of the sofa and halfway ran out of the door. "Grab her before it is too late," she heard Bailey emphasize again. Her voice was so familiar and yet she was absolutely right. Meredith loved you. Worse, she longed for you.
Only after you.
Meredith Grey could not help but grin all the way down to the emergency room at the thought of you while she tried to reach you on your cell phone. But she was thrown strictly to the mailbox.
It surprised her, after all you were always available. Especially when you were at work. Then why was your phone turned off? The blonde would have understood if you wanted to have your rest after a night shift, but you only had a lunch break.
She looked through the opening elevator doors and immediately chaos broke out in front of her. Nurses ran around like they were bitten by a tarantula, including three of her friends who almost knocked her over while stepping out of the elevator. "What the.."
It is L/n!" Merediths hands kept shaking and she could not really understand the next words. Something about you and that she should be there. She dropped her cell phone as she ran and rushed to the trauma room. In the time she hastily walked through the corridor, the world stood still.
She could not breathe while hoping that the scenarios that suddenly appeared in her mind would never come true.
"What the hell happened?" Meredith yelled between chaotic conversations and the tension, that Keppner, Pierce and Hunt were building around your bloodied body as she walked through the doorway.
Everything was going wild in the shock room. Nurses ran back and forth, delivering the supplied and an ultrasound to the attending physicians that they so desperately needed to determine the nature and severity of your injuries.
"Y/n was hit by a motorist who missed a red light. Suspected traumatic brain injury. Strong, rapidly forming hematomas all over their body, fractured right arm and suspected pelvic fracture," explained April through staging breaths before continuing. "They collapsed shortly before arrival, Pierce is doing resuscitation"
In unison, the four doctors looked at the monitor to which you were connected by cables and waited for a sinus rhythm that should exchange the flat line. Hunt, meanwhile, had your head tilted back and was trying to insert the tube through your larynx into your trachea to take over the ventilation. "Tubus is inside. We move them on three. One, two.. three,"
They set you down on the hospital bed provided for you, Pierce immediately began to resume chest compressions. Meredith had only now fully realized whose life was at stake and who her friends were fighting for.
But she could not contribute. Her body was paralyzed and her life-saving skills completely thrown overboard. She looked at your face like a heap of misery and was startled. Big tears rolled down her cheeks. Completely silent but totally desperate.
A rush of adrenaline hit her all of a sudden and she blinked back the tears that were appearing. She quickly jumped to the end of the bed and held your ankles tightly in her hands. The blonde had to touch you, but your otherwise warm skin was chilled under her fingertips.
"Stabilization and then straight to the CT with her, Shepherd is already waiting" Owen gave running instructions and pumped another dose of medication through your veins to hopefully get your circulation going. This quickly had its effect; electrical impulses showed up as current fluctuations in the curves of the line and relief flowed through the room.
"Weak sinus frequency but we can work with that," April stated and breathed a sigh of relief while wiping the beads of sweat from her forehead.
Meredith walked up to your naked torso, her hands gently falling on your messy and blood smeared hair, stroking it softly. She leaned forward, close to your face before whispering something into your ear. "I beg you, Y/n. Do not leave me alone," she begs your unconscious body while frantically stroking your wet hair.
She froze and lifted her eyes to meet the gazes of the people standing next to her. They urged her to go faster with prompting looks, but at the same time gave her the time she needed. A shudder ran over her body before continuing.
"I choose you, Y/n. Fight for us," she said calmly, watching as Owen carried you away on the stretcher.

Could I please have an imagine where the reader and Meredith Grey have been best friends since childhood. The thing is that they both have had feelings for each other for years but never said anything. When they both start at Seattle Grace Meredith goes out with Derek and the reader starts something with another intern (doesn’t matter who). Both begin to realize that they are jealous and that they want to be together. (Possible conversations between Derek and the other person talking about how obvious it is) (like they give up their relationships for the other to be happy) fluffy and angsty please?

𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜: Meredith Grey x f!reader ♡
𝘼/𝙣: I've chosen Jackson, I haven't written much for him yet! So this will be also a minor Jackson Avery x reader, anyway I hope you'll like the rest! <3
Tumblr media
In every situation a choice must be made. And most of the time the choice you make should satisfy your need. You can choose whether to wait and keep hoping or go ahead in search of something new. This was your choice. Despite your strong feelings for Meredith, you've decided to let it go so you can change things.
There was this guy, pretty cute, who was in the same internship class as you and he seemed to be hitting on you a lot. When you saw Meredith again you thought it was a sign of destiny and that you might finally come forward, but she didn't seem to show any interest and she even started dating someone else. An attending. Derek Shepherd. Chief of Neurosurgery. At first it hurt you, but then you thought about doing the same and agreeing to go out with Jackson.
It wasn't bad at all, in fact he really made you feel good. He was so nice and kind to you, you almost thought you could fall in love with him and turn this into a serious relationship. But it still bothered you a lot seeing Meredith with someone else and you hated yourself for it.
Sometimes she was in the corridors with Derek, blowing a few kisses while they talked, not caring about the people passing by, but just looking like she wanted to show off, so you did the same with Jackson when you saw her, letting his lips wrap yours as they met passionately. The only result was a few glances between you, nothing more. But neither of them wanted to stop. You also tended to highlight your plans for the evening or the day, which confused the hell out of Jackson and Derek, but despite having a huge effect on both of you.
Derek and Jackson seemed to notice, it was starting to get so weird. As much as Jackson might have displeased him he'd noticed you were somehow jealous of Derek, he'd understood you cared especially for Meredith, but of course you'd never tell him, so the only thing he could do was continue to put up with it all and go after you.
One morning you rushed in together, had coffee together and left before him since you had a surgery scheduled and didn't want to be late. He decided to take it slower.
"Avery" Derek's voice caught his attention, making him stop sipping his coffee in peace.
"Doctor Shepherd" he politely greeted him.
"Okay..." he looked embarrassed. "I'll get right to the point" he stated bringing a rather curious expression to Jackson's face. Was that what he was thinking about?
"I think you've noticed it too, cause it's obvious..." he started.
"Meredith and Y/n?" he asked to have the certainty. He did an expression to confirm.
"I know this isn't professional, but we need to clarify it" Jackson nodded.
"Meredith told me about Y/n, they knew each other since childhood" Jackson raised his eyes.
"Oh... I did n't know..." in his head he had always limited himself to putting the pieces together, but you had never spoken to him about Meredith. And he had never bothered to ask for information.
"And it seems like both will never face it" The two shared the same suspicions.
"That's difficult" Jackson continued.
There was a moment of silence between the two, then when perhaps the situation was finally about to change, Derek was called.
Jackson just strayed there, thinking about it. He had a huge crush on you but apparently he understood this wasn't what you wanted.
Before he could be late too, he entered, with all the thoughts still whirling through his head. In fact they were able to ruin his whole day, and as soon as he had a chance to talk to you, he took you to a call-room to clarify.
Thinking you understood what he wanted to do, you welcomed him with an intense kiss. And although he liked it, he interrupted the situation; he was going to have a serious conversation.
"You okay?" you asked him having noticed something weird.
"Is this what do you want, Y/n?" he asked looking deeply at your eyes. You were confused.
"Jackson, what-"
"You don't want me, I know. You don't want us" his expression as he pronounced those words almost broke you. But deep down you knew what he was referring to and you couldn't say anything against it. He nodded at your silence.
"It's her, Meredith" he continued.
"Jackson, I'm so sorry, I... you're very good..." you tried to get out of it.
"I know, it's okay" he put a hand on your cheek. "I won't be the one who will prevent you to be happy" he gave you a smile, that you knew were forced, and without adding anything else, he left the room.
He did this for you. You almost wanted to cry, even you didn't know the reason. You loved Meredith Grey, and this was ruining your life.
That same evening you went to Joe's bar, hoping it would helped you throw this day in the trash. You sat down and asked the usual drink, tequila.
"Tequila for me too, please" you turned to Meredith when you heard her voice next to you. You weren't in the best mood to face her, so you just ignored it all and continued drinking.
"Shitty day?" she asked you.
"Yeah" she seemed to want to talk. "You?" you asked.
"Derek doesn't talk to me" she said placing the shot glass back on the table. "Because of you" she continued. “And… I think he's right” she admitted. You looked at her, feeling a little pissed.
"Really Meredith?" you crossed your arms after you finished drinking. “Well, you could say that first, you know? You made me feel like a crap about this situation” She raised her eyes.
"Did I do this to you Y/n? You didn't do anything either!" she said irritated and making you feel a little guilty. But it was both's fault. None of you said anything, even the feeling was strong.
You looked into her eyes, before forgetting everything and approaching to kiss her. It was all you needed, knowing that you both felt the same way and that you would do anything to have each other's presence close.
You pull apart for a second to look at each other, can't helping but smiling and kept doing it as you stumble into another kiss.

🎃💉Grey's Anatomy Halloween Special💉🎃
“This Is Halloween”
Paring: Derek Shepherd x reader, read x multiple characters
Summary: you and Derek go to a Halloween fest with your friends from the hospital. It's all fun and games till someone gets hurt.
Warnings: horror, some gore, not edited.
Greys MasterList.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Halloween is upon us and the hospital loves to make sure we don't forget it. I'm definitely not complaining, I love everything gore and spooky. Dispite our busy schedules we like to at least take a minute to appreciate this time of the year.
If you work on the Peds floor like me and Alex you learn quickly that this floor loves Halloween. This gives the kids something to smile about and do during their stay.
Dispite his protest me and Arizona got Alex to dress up for the kids. Our trio Decided to dress up as super heros which the kids loved. Alex was carrying around a captain America shield and entertaining the kids while I was dressed up like Hawkeye and Arizona dressed up as a female Thor.
“what's up Cap?” I teased as Alex came over to the nurse's station with a scowl. “shut up”
Me and Arizona laughed as he sat his shield down only for a kid to snatch it and run off. Alex who was secretly enjoying it playfully yelled 'hey!' and ran after the giggling kid.
“I love Halloween” I smiled putting a sucker in my mouth. Arizona nodding agreaing as she grabbed a chart and walked off. I sighed happily and set down my fake bow and arrow. Before a could go anywhere a all too familiar voice spoke behind me.
“trick or treat” a small voice said. I smiled and saw Derek carring our son Who was Dressed up like Chucky. I smiled lovingly at my two boys as took out five year old out of his arms.
“what happened to the Harry Potter costume” I laughed remembering our son was indeed Harry Potter early this morning. Derek smiled like he didn't know what I was talking about.
“he said he wanted to be scary so while you were in surgery I took him to the Halloween store” I rolled my eyes and set him down so he could say hi to Arizona and Sofia.
Derek gave me a cheeky smiled as he placed his hands on my hips and pulled me closer to his body. “have I told you how much I love this costume on you?” he asked kissing my neck. I chuckled and pulled him away.
“children are present... Many of them” he slightly laughed and kissed me on the cheek. He leaned up against the nurse's station next to me and snatched a piece a candy from a bowl that was on the station.
“so I think Meredith and Ameila are planning something for tonight” Derek said breaking off a piece of his kit-Kat and hanging it to me.
“should we be worried?” he chuckled crumbling the wrapper and putting it in his pocket. “I know just as much as you do, I'm just the messenger”
“what about Dean?” I asked as our son ran up to us. “Bailey said she'd watch him”
“momma look” Dean said cutting our conversation short. Dean smiled and held up a little toy sugar skull that glew in the dark. As he played with it Derek came up behind him and fake jumped scared him. Dean giggled as Derek tickled him. Derek laughed to then looked back to To me.
“I'll take him to Bailey, say bye to mommy” Derek said. Dean waved his fake knife with a smile. “bye-bye mommy” I waved good bye then set off to fine our friends.

“Hell fest has finally arrived!” the report smiled on the TV.
I walked up to the nurse's Station Meredith, Amilea, Callie and Mark were at. “What are you guys watching?” I asked as Jackson and April joined our group.
“shh” mark said not taking his eyes off the TV.
The TV showed Seattle's annual Halloween fest. The place was called Hell fest and it was full of haunted houses and different actors who jump out and scare you.
“but unfortunately the haunted attraction has caused some controversy, with the realistic sets based on actual serial killers and true events. Is it distasteful or just plane Halloween fun?” the report continues.
The fest's advertisements was full of gore and slasher themed custumes. Amilea stared in amazement. “dudes we have to go”
Christina rolled her eyes. “it's just a bunch of cheep rides and haunted houses that aren't even scary. It's a waist of time”
“oh come on yang grow a pair” Mark said acusing her of just being scared. April who wasn't into it all shook her head terrified but she was ignored.
“those places are awesome actually” I added as Derek joined us. He kissed the side of my head and leaned against the nurse's station next to me.
“But the haunted attraction is based on actual events…isn’t that a little bit inconsiderate to the families of the victims?” April asked.
“What, you don't want to be chased around by Ted Bundy?” Mark joked as he fake stabbed Derek with a pen Derek chuckled and pushed him away from me and him as scrolled through my phone looking up the place. I smirked and tapped Merideth’s shoulder.
“Dude we have to go! This place is known to be haunted!” I said Meredith bugged her eyes out in surprise looking at the article. “Awsome”
“yes!” Amilea said looking over our shoulders. Derek just shook his head and smiled at the trio.
April sighed and garbed a chart. “I'm gonna check on my patient” I sighed and looked at April with a depressing look. “Fine we won't go”
Amilea made a fake evil laugh and followed April. “I guess I'll go with... So you don't get murdered by an escaped psyc patient” aprli slugged her in the shoulder as the two disappeared in the hallway.
I then looked at jackson. “And you guys can stay here all along… with the nerves parents and kids who ate too much candy” Jackson sighed and looked at the direction that April went.
Not a second later April’s screams erupted through the halls then a cash sound followed along with Amilea's cackles. The group looked over to where the sound came from with confused looks. April came racing in shaking while Owen followed, rubbing his head while Amilea was with him cackling.
“What happened to you?” I asked, chuckling.
Owen turned to April. “You hit me in the head with an empty bed pan” April whipped back around. “Well you snuck up on me in a dark closet, what do you expect?”
Amilea wrapped her arm on April's shoulder taking a breath from laughing. “Aw, come on Kepner, it's Halloween everyone's entitled to a good scare”
“So are we going or what?” Mark asked. “Going where?” Owen asked.
“Hell fest, you in?” I asked my best friend. Before Owen could answer Merdith butted in.
“We're going, we're just trying to get these two sissies to go,” Merdith said, pointing to Jackson and April. The couple quickly got defensive. “We never said that,” Jackson said, using his hands while talking, probably trying to get his point a crossed.
“Come on Avery it'll be fun” Amilea said. Jackson soon gave in with a smile. He nodded making everyone cheer.
“Hunt you in?” Mark asked. He smiled and nodded. “sounds like fun, sure”
“Callie?” I asked turning to here. She nodded with a big smile. “dude, I've been in for a while.”
After transportation planning and a few added ons(Alex and jo then Merdith convinced Hayes to come with us)we left for the Halloween fest.
🔺▪️🔻▪️🔺▪️🔻▪️🔺
“we made it!” Amilea cheered as the the both of raced in leaving the group behind.
“wait up guys! We still need tickets!” Derek shouted making us sighed and walk back.
The line was long but thankful we were towards the front. “lot of weirdos” Christina mumbled. A guy in a clown costume that was behind her in line tried to scare her. It didn't work and Christina made sure he knew.
“boo, so scary” she said sarcastically and moved over next to Merdith and Hayes.
We all finally got in with our VIP passes and the place was a sight to see to say the least. Before we set off Jackson came up next Mark with a creeped out expression.
“Avery we just got here, what's the problem?” Mark asked. He looked around a shivered.
“please say the ticket guy licked his lips at all of you and not just me?” April scrunched her noise up and Mark started laughing. Jackson never got his answer do to all of us setting off to explore the place.
I looked over to Derek who just took my hand. He looked around slightly board but still trying to look like he was having fun. “this really isn't your thing, is it?” I asked him.
He stopped and smiled. “it's your thing and I'm just happy to spend time with you” he was about to lean down and give me a kiss but a scar actor in clown costume scared us. I jumped into Derek arms and he laughed.
“okay, that was fun” he laughed. I giggled and pulled him along to catch up with the other.
“haunted house?” Callie asked. We all agreed making our way in. Merdith and Hayes went in first cleaning to each other. The first guy that popped out was mad doctor making Amilea jump into Owen's arms in fear.
She pushed him away like nothing happened. “and... That's just insulting” she said pointing at the doctor.
Strob lights and blood surrounded us as we walked into a canbilist farm themed room. The place was based off. The text chain saw mascara movies obviously.
“ew, that looks so real” April said looking at a dummy that was gutted to piece. I looked at it and decided to screw with April.
“that's probably pig intestines, it's what they used in Day of the dead” I said pointing at the dummy. Jackson wrapped his arm around April and looked at me disgust. “how do you know that?”
“same reason I know that I know they used corn syrup for pigs blood in Carrie” I shrugged and derek wrapped his arm around my waist.
Next we walked into a pitch black room. “okay... Something is gonna pop out” Jo mumbled clinging to Alex. “hello?” she yelled.
“they aren't gonna respond” Alex said as he looked around.
Strob light suddenly turned on and a Dr. Satan like man came charging at us with a doctors too from hell. Jo screamed and ran for it while Merdith laughed.
The final room was a back room full of maquines with wolf masks. “one of you are real” Mark mumbled. He successfully made it to the other side without getting scared which made April feel confident to walk through. As she went one of them moved and grabbed her scream bloody murder.
She ran out with Jackson and the rest of us chacing her.
“that was so badass!” Amilea cheered as we made it out to the end.
After that we hit the cheeply made games. Owen and I went up agint each other while Derek and Mark went to a Dart booth. Surprisingly I won and I wasn't gonna let Owen forget it. “yes! Suck on that!” he laughed and gave me the win.
“here you go” Derek said from behind me. I turned around to find my boyfriend Holding a little Teddy bear he won. I smiled and thanked him with a quick peck on the cheek.
Amilea, Christina, and Meredith then came back with giant preziles. “What did we miss?”
“y/n whipped Hunt in a Shooting game” Hayes laughed. “yes, that's my girl!” Amilea said high-fiving me.
“we should go to that IT experience thingy, I saw it when I was getting drinks” Callie said coming up next to me and handing me a drink.
Derek's eyes bugged out in fear from behind me. Amilea noticed and chuckled. No one knew of his fear so we all agreed while Derek reluctantly agreed.
“God, I hate clowns” Derek mumbled. I stopped and grabbed his hand. “We don't have to go in if you don't want to” he shook his head and pulled me along.
“no, you love this movie let's go” I rolled my eyes and tired to stop him but no dice.
We all went to the entrance which had the three doors from the movie. Scary, very scary, and not Scary at all
“not Scary at all right?” April asked walking towards it. I shrugged when she stopped and looked at me for confoation.
“I think we should divide and Concer” Mark said opening the door that said Scary. Callie, Joe, and Alex followed. April went through the not Scary at all door with Jackson and Owen. Hayes walked to the last door that said Very scary and opened it for Merdith. “ladies first” he said. Derek nodded and pushed his little sister forward.
“yup, ladies first” Amilea scoffed and pulled me along. “chickens”
Derek garbed my hand as we walked through a room full of glowing mirrors. It was the same set up from the second film. The light flashed on and off giving it an eary feeling.
As we walked by a Pennywise actor jumped out and pounded on the window. “holy shit!” Derek said grabbing on to me.
“Awsome” Amilea said as she watched Pennywise run around.
We rounded a corner and ended up in the clown room from the first movie. “oh you got be fucking kidding me” Derek mumbled as he watched every single clown making sure one of them wasn't gonna move. All the clown Dolls then started to shake and their eyes glew as we walked pasted.
The next hallway was built to look like a sewer. It lead us to the last room which was covered in blood like Beverly's bathroom. It didn't have any jump scares and it was thast Room.
As we exited we saw everyone was waiting. “that was kinda disappointing” Mark said as we continued to walk around. “yeah I expected a bit more fear” Callie said.
Are walk was cut short as a guy with a chainsaw started chacing another guy. The pray triped and few and the actor fell and the saw went right threw the arm of the fake victim. The guy screamed in pain but at first it looked like an act but april was the first to realize it wasn't.
“guys... That's real”
“oh... Crap” Christina said as Owen and Mark went to help the guy. Owen tried to stop the bleeding while Mark picked up the arm from the pavement.
“We're all doctor, we'll help” April said as she call 911. The dude screamed in pain while the guy who cut the arm off ran away.
The part of the park that we were at got shut down so the paramedics could get through. Mark and Owen who were covered in blood left with them.
“well that killed the mood” Merdith said as we continued to walk after everyone was evacuated from the crim scene. “not really” Amilea said.
“you guys wanna head to the hospital? See what happens to the guy?” Callie asked.
As we walked a guy that was clearly high cackled as he called out his friend's name. He bummed into Callie in the process which didn't set well for her. She chaced after him and I quickly followed making sure she wasn't gonna fight anyone.
Before call could say anything the guy held up a knife to his friend and smile. “hey dude I found one of those retractable knives” me and Callie gasped as the the dude stabed his friend in the head and the knife didn't retract. Whatever drugs these dudes were on must of numbed the pain because they were giggling like idiots.
“I'm beginning to believe this place is haunted” Callie said.
🔺▪️🔻▪️🔺▪️🔻▪️🔺
After bringing the two high friends with Cookies(no, I'm not joking) to the ER the dude with the knife in his head sat on a bed waiting for a head CT.
“we need to figure out of to get the scan without removing the Knife, that thing is probably keeping him from bleeding out” Derek told Amilea.
“I don't even think they know where they are” she said looking at the patient and his friend. Both clearly on something. “and while your at it get a drug test” Amilea said walking towards the CT room.
“hey how's the Leatherface victum?” I asked as Owen passed me. He signed and took his scrub cap off. “he ain't getting his arm back and that guy-”
Owen was cut off by one of the druggies that started shouting out to Derek and Amilea. “Dr. Shepherds! I don't know what the big deal is.. All you got do is pull it out” he yanked the knife out of his friend's head.
I bugged my eyes out as Amilea and derek raced to him as the guy passed out.
“happy freaking Halloween” Owen sighed as he left to check in the patient.
I sighed and left to scrub in with Derek and Amilea. After a ten hour surgery we got the bleeding to stop and the surgery was successful. The three of us walked into the scrub room to get cleaned up.
“well Halloween is officially over” Amilea said looking at her watch.
“November 1st, it's day of the dead” I smiled drying my hands off. Derek chuckled and gave me a side hug. “don't get any ideas”
I shrugged. “I was thinking we could just go home and cuddle but...”
Amilea smiled. “you guys are adorable... It makes me sick” Derek flipped her the bird while giving me a kiss.
“thanks for going tonight, I know it's not your thing” I said wrapping my arms around his neck. He smiled and placed his hands on my waist. “I hade a lot of fun tonight actually”
“good, I love you” I said.
“I love you too”

Hi guys used to be keepcalmshiptheyna but as you can see I am no longer that person
So anyways I'm Spencer and I write fanfiction bc why not
I write for any show/book series that I've watched so that includes:
Stranger Things
Greys Anatomy
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
First Kill
One Day at a Time
Atypical
Harry Potter
The entire Riordanverse (Percy Jackson, Magnus Chase etc.)
I have written for both ships and x readers so I'm open to pretty much anything
I also write for the actors of these shows bc I know that they are hard to come by in some circumstances
If there are canon gay characters in the series I will only write the specific gender that they're attracted to yk
NO SMUT
I am a minor, I am not comfortable writing smut at all.
Besides that, I will write anything and everything under the sun
All ships are welcome as long as they are legal and appropriate (essentially no child x adult ones, that's weird)
But that's what I write for
Pls blow up my inbox I am so incredibly bored :p

THERE’S ANOTHER ONE?
pairing: taylor swift x fem!reader
warnings: fluffy, kissing, alcohol intake, tay being upset that her fur babies love you more than her
masterlist
the night had been amazing so far. you and taylor had gone on your first date and everything went perfect. you two went to a nice restaurant and sat in the far back table where you giggled like school girls and gushed about shared interests.
so now as taylor giggles drunkenly, fiddling with her key to open her door, you can’t help but hope this isn’t a one time thing. she finally opens the door and swings it open, sighing in sweet relief. she kicks her shoes off and turns to face you when you close the door behind yourself as you take in the environment.
your eyes lock back on her and you smile girlishly at her soft gaze. you begin to take your shoes off all while maintaining the eye contact, “what?” you simply ask with a small laugh.
taylor bites her lip to contain her smile and shakes her head, “tonight’s been so amazing. i feel invincible right now.”
you grin at her, walking forward until you wrap your arms around the back of her neck, staring up at her with loving eyes. this is rare, for you to feel this in love on the first date. but you can tell taylor feels the same with the way she smiles down and wraps her arms around your waist. it makes you feel less stupid and shameful.
taylor gazes down at you in silence, her eyes heavy with alcohol and exhaustion of the eventful night. nonetheless, she conserves her energy for you, as she doesn’t want this night to end.
“can i kiss you, please?” she asks softly, a bit of her worried she may have misread your pace and signs of the night.
you give her a reassuring nod, “of course.”
she closes the space and just like that sparks fly in the air around you two. her soft lips move against yours slowly and gently, her movements a bit sloppy due to the bottle of wine you two split at the restaurant.
before you have the chance to deepen the kiss you feel something soft and furry move against your leg. you pull away from taylor’s lips and look down, a smile taking over your tingling lips at the sight.
a cat looks up at you with wide eyes, then a small meow escapes it’s mouth. you unhook your grip on taylor’s neck and crouch down to the cat’s level, letting it sniff your hand. taylor watches the interaction with love filled eyes.
“hi baby.” you coo, petting the cat from its neck to it’s tail. you continue the movement and eventually end up sitting criss cross on the floor in front of the door.
the cat climbs onto your lap and you smile in glee as you scratch it with your nails, feeling successful when the cat begins to knead it’s paws into your thighs.
taylor sits in front of you, criss cross as well with a small playful frown. “lucky, meredith never does that with me.”
you glance up at her with raised eyebrows before looking back down to the cat that purrs loudly, nudging her head against your slack hand. “hi meredith.” you whisper and scratch under her chin.
another cat enters the room and freezes once it’s next to taylor. she picks the cat up and places it into her lap, stroking it softly. “this is benjamin button, he’s my baby boy.”
you lean forward slightly and hold your hand out for benjamin to sniff. after a few seconds the cat jumps out of taylor’s lap and climbs onto your other available thigh. you scratch and pet both cats with a smile on your face.
taylor watches with endearment. the urge gets too strong that she impulsively pulls out her phone, snapping a quick photo. you look up with a grin, shaking your head. she shrugs, “had to save the moment. so the kids can see the first time they met you in the future.” she jokes.
it’s a small joke but it makes your stomach flutter. the thought of becoming official with her to be able to call her cat’s yours as well. you blush heavily and lean forward, planting a soft kiss on her lips.
she grins at you with loving eyes before they widen, “oh wait, you still have to meet olivia.”
your eyes widen more than hers as you gasp, “there’s another one?!”

a story for the grandkids
1.
It was in the crossing of early morning, late night.
You’d been at the hospital for over forty-eight hours. And only about ten of that had been small naps.
Being on Addison’s service was kicking your ass, but you wanted to be an OBGYN with your whole heart and soul, and you would give up anything for that. Even a little sleep.
You were currently watching over a baby whose mother had just left her.
This world was messed up, and you hated people for it. Sometimes you thought you were too empathetic for this world, but that’s what made you a great doctor.
Or at least that’s what Addison told you.
You’re drifting to sleep as you feel a tug on your pointer finger. You spent most of the night just watching the tiny humans chest thump with heartbeats.
But now you were getting restless, and there hadn’t been any response from the baby at all until now.
You sat up excitedly at the small on and off pressure being added to your finger.
“Hi, sweet girl,” You run your thumb over her small knuckles. “That’s it. You’re so strong.”
Your eyes are sparkling and your lips are wide with a large smile plastering your face.
Addison watches the interaction from across the NICU, and she thinks it’s the cutest thing she’s ever witnessed. She’s worked with a lot of aspiring interns interested in neonatal work, but she’s never met someone like you.
“Everything okay?” Addison is watching you more than the baby.
“Yes!” You are bouncing in your seat. “She— she’s responsive. I’ll admit, I was falling asleep for a second— but I felt a tug on my finger, and— she’s so strong, Dr. Montgomery.”
“Please, call me Addison,” She smiles at you, grabbing a pen from her lab coat to mark the newfound information on the chart. “And thank you for being honest with me. This is amazing news.”
“If I have to call you Addison, you should call me Y/n,” You try to convince her.
Addison chuckles, “We’ll see.”
You lower your head so your level with the incubator, your eyes closing slightly.
Addison looks up from the chart, her lips tilting up from hearing your small snores.
“Dr. Y/l/n,” Addison clears her throat, and you jump awake.
“Huh?” You rub your eyes, letting go of the babies hand for the first time in hours.
“You should go home. Get some sleep,” Addison nods.
“But— I still have a few more hours—“
“I’m telling you to go home,” Addison places her pen back in the pocket she retrieved it. “You came in early yesterday, therefore, I’m cutting you off for today.”
“Okay,” You chuckle. You stand and come closer to her, moving to stand between the incubator and her. “I’ll see you..”
“Whenever I please,” Addison gives you a breathtaking smile, only now realizing the two of you are very close.
She thinks about it for a split second, her eyes closing in on your lips. But she clenches her jaw and takes a tiny step back.
She’s grateful you’re too tired to remember this tomorrow.
“Go on, Dr. Y/l/n,” Addison nods towards the door to the NICU.
2.
You huff for what had to be the hundredth time in the past hour.
There was nothing you hated more than plastics. It wasn’t the treatments, per se.. actually, that was part of it. You hated seeing them in pain as you dressed their burns and their cries.
But you also hated Mark Sloan. You could feel his stares on you as you worked on what he’d asked. He treated you like an object, and you were over it.
You also hated him because of the way he treated Addison.
Yes, you know, she was definitely in the wrong, but she’s apologized and everyone is over it. At least everyone except Mark.
“Y/l/n. If you huff one more time you’ll be on dry cleaner and coffee duty,” Mark threatens.
Although it wasn’t really a threat to you. It was better than wondering when he was going to pounce on you.
“It’s better than being here,” You mumble, finishing a dressing on a mans hand. He was a champ.
“What? Wanna share with the class?”
“I said it’s better than being here,” You finally snapped. “I will happily get your coffee and dry cleaning.”
“Perfect,” Mark flashed you a smile without even telling you where to go and what to get. You’d just ask Alex.
You somehow managed to stumble into the NICU, in search for Alex, but you didn’t find him.
You only found Addison.
“Oh, thank god. Someone sane,” Addison comes towards you and puts her hands on your shoulders.
“I don’t know about that,” You laugh. “But I do know I might kill Mark Sloan tonight.”
“Ugh, you got Mark? Out of everyone?” Addison grimaces. “I’m sorry. I’ll help you plan.”
“Amazing,” You smiled blissfully— just being in the NICU and near Addison is what you needed to calm yourself.
You lean your forehead on Addison’s shoulder, and you feel Addison’s hand make its way to the back of your head.
When you lift your head, your mouth is awfully to the side of Addison’s face.
She locks eyes with you but moves her head to the side, away from your face. She notices Alex towards the back of the room, flirting with a nurse.
“Karev, show Y/l/n where Dr. Sloan gets his coffee and his dry cleaning.”
3.
Nothing could have prepared you for what went wrong on that table today.
You knew this was a possibility going into neonatal, and fetal, but even that couldn’t have prepared you for the first death of a mother.
You didn’t even know what went wrong, really.
The mother was fine— you were delivering her baby by C-section and then all of the sudden she started crashing.
Addison had to lead you to the side before she tried to save the patient. You just stood there. Painless, numb, frozen.
It was like you couldn’t breathe.
And when Addison called time of death you all but ran out of the operating room and towards an on-call room.
You were sitting on the edge of the bed, your scrub cap in your hands as you leaned your head back in hopes to get the tears to go away.
“Y/l/n,” Addison crouches down in front of you, her hand finding a comforting spot on your knee.
You try to ignore the burning sensation of her hand through your scrubs.
“I don’t—“ Your voice cracks and you move your hands to your face, crying into the scrub cap.
“Shh,” Addison shushes you, running another comforting hand up and down the side of your thigh. “We had no idea that was going to happen. It’s not your fault.”
“But her poor husband,” Your words are muffled through the cap. “And the baby..”
“I know,” Addison removes her hand from the side of your leg and moves your hand from your face. “It’s okay.”
Addison lifts herself from the floor and to the bed beside you.
She looks at you with sympathy, because she remembers the first mother she lost. It tore her apart just as it was doing to you.
“It will get better,” Addison promises.
“It’s not fair,” You blow out a breath. “She was fine.”
“Stop. You’re getting yourself worked up,” Addison frowns, pulling you into her side.
You melt into her side, your left leg moving on top of her own. You vigorously wipe at your tears, but they just keep coming.
You sob into her shoulder for a few minutes, soaking her dark blue scrubs to a darker blue.
Addison lifts your head to see your face.
It’s mostly dark in the room, only a small lamp sat on the desk in the back corner. You could barely see her face, but she could see yours perfectly.
She wipes the tears from your face and pushes the damp hair away that sticks onto your face.
Your eyelashes stick together as you look down at her lips slightly, and back up towards her eyes.
“You okay?” Addison’s eyes make their way down to your lips.
She leans forward, and she almost thinks she’s going to, but she pulls you in for a hug.
“Yeah,” You sigh.
4.
“It’d be nice if I could breathe right now,” You joked, although it wasn’t really a joke. It felt like the air had been swept from your lungs.
How did you get stuck with your hand on the bomb?, was a very good question.
One you definitely didn’t have the answer to.
All you knew was the second the paramedics hand was out of there, yours was right inside the body.
Your hand was growing tired, but you really didn’t want to die today. You haven’t even really fell in love yet, not really, and that’s something you’d like to experience before dying.
The next few minutes fly by in a blur. Meredith and Cristina come up with a plan to safely take care of the bomb, and the next second your out the door. Praying to any Gods above that you make it out of this alive.
“Breathe, Y/n,” Meredith reminds you.
“I can’t,” You let out a shaky gust of air. “I really c— can’t.”
“Come on, now is not the time to have an asthma attack,” Cristina curses. “I don’t have her extra inhaler, do you?”
“No.. she gave it to..”
“Addison,” The two say together.
“Crap,” You gasp for air.
“Okay, here’s what we’re going to do,” Burke looks between the two - Meredith and Cristina - as a sheen of sweet forms on his forehead. “One of you are going to have to take over for her and the other needs to take her to Dr. Montgomery now. Before things get out of hand and we all die.”
“You’re right,” Meredith nods. “Okay, I’ve got it. A count of three, Y/n, got it?”
“Yes,” You’re trying to inhale anything at this point, but you can’t seem to grab anything.
You successfully make the trade off with Meredith, and your anxiety skyrockets as you are forced to leave her behind.
“Y/n—“
“I know,” You share a silent understanding with your best friend.
Tell him.
I know.
“Come on, let’s go,” Cristina tugs on your arm and takes you right towards the redhead.
“Oh, y/n,” Addison dives right into your arms, unaware of the fact that you can’t breathe at all. “Thank god you’re alright. You are okay, right? I don’t see any bruises.”
“Dr. Montgomery,” Cristina breaks the moment. “You have her inhaler?”
“Oh!” Addison sees the paleness in your face and begins reaching for your inhaler, finding it in her back pocket. “Here.”
Addison doesn’t care about the blood coating your hand as she holds your hand to help you with your inhaler.
Addison leans her face forward to make sure you’re doing it right, and when you remove your hand her lips are awfully close to your face.
You take a sharp inhale of breath you didn’t have a second ago, and you actually think she’s gonna go through with it for a second.
But you had an audience, and she didn’t want your first kiss to be in front of her ex-husband and your subordinates.
“You’re okay?” Addison checks over you.
“You called me by my name,” Is the first thing you say when you’re fully back.
Addison laughs, “I did.”
5.
You giggle to yourself as you sit at the bar in Joes.
You were all supposed to originally go there so you could drink and do trauma dumps for the week, but everyone got called in for their respective specialties, except you.
A familiar fragrance hits your nose, and you rest back, almost falling out of the stool at the bar.
“Woah there,” Addison catches you quickly before you fall.
“Addie,” You sigh in content, laying your arm across the table, your head resting in the crook of your arm.
“Hm?” Addison presses her lips together. “Meredith told me I might find you here.”
“She did?” You ask with a little too much excitement.
“Yeah,” Addison laughs at you. “What happened? Are you upset? Is that why you’re like this?”
“Nooooo,” You poke her on the nose.
You begin to stand, putting your coat on due to the frigid weather.
“Where are you off to?” Addison stands quickly, following you right out the door.
“The hospital!” You gasp. “To save more babies. I like babies. I want babies. I want them with this one person, but I don’t think they want them with me. Which is okay! I’m.. I think I’m gonna throw up.”
Addison follows you to the grass, holding your hair back as you empty your stomach onto the ground.
She pushes down the jealousy as she rubs your back soothingly.
You lean up fast, looking her in the eyes with the most adorable expression (in her opinion).
You give a wide smile, leaning forward the slightest bit.
She does think about it, but your first kiss shouldn’t be this way. You wouldn’t even be able to remember it in the morning. And your mouth tasted awful.
“Come on,” Addison steers you away from the grass and back into the bar. “Let’s get you a coffee. Maybe some fries. How does that sound?”
You groan in response.
+1
Weddings really just irked you. And you didn’t know what it was about them.
Maybe the fact that you spend so much money for a stupid party you won’t even remember in two years, but Addison seemed to love it.
That’s the only reason you were going - was for Addison.
You’d noticed over the past few weeks how close Addison has come to kissing you. You were really hoping today might be it.
You were a bridesmaid, due to you being one of Cristina’s very best friends.
Although right now you were really regretting even agreeing in the first place.
First off, you hated the dress. Brown? Out of any color? Second, (again on the dress) it didn’t fit your body type well at all. And lastly, you were beginning to think there wouldn’t even be a wedding.
Cristina kept freaking out. All day. And now you could hear someone approaching the door. You had a feeling it was Burke.
Meredith calls for you and when you come to the door it’s not Burke.
It’s Addison.
“Addison,” You slip out of the room. “What’s wrong? Is everything okay with Burke?”
“Everything’s okay for now,” Addison keeps a stoic expression on her face. “But is she almost ready? He’s getting antsy, and he might not go through with it.”
You clench your jaw, shaking your head.
“I’m not even the maid of honor and I’m running around fixing everything?” You whisper-shout.
“Don’t get mad at me,” Addison lifts her brows.
“I’m just— this whole wedding is a disaster. First these stupid dresses, second the bachelorette party? I mean, what the hell kind of party was that?! And now Cristina can’t remember her vows, and there may as well—“
You’re cut off by Addison’s lips smashing onto yours.
“Finally,” You sigh, leaning into her.
Her hands find your hips, grabbing onto them as she pushes you against the wall. Your arms wrap around her neck.
“And for the record,” She says between kisses. “I love this dress on you.”
This was a story for the grandkids.

Perfect Fit
Tumblr media
Title: Perfect Fit
Pairing: Meredith Grey x Reader
Prompt: "Is that my shirt?"
Word Count: 680
Ash was ready to collapse the moment she walked through the doors. The back to back shifts were rough always rough. The case that had been dropped on Ash's desk at the start of her second shift made it worse. It was urgent, something that needed to be dealt with and wrapped up as quickly as possible.
Ash didn't like to play the political game, but her boss definitely did. He had been on her case for the past 14 hours. Meredith had called at least twice, but Ash hadn't gotten a moment away to answer her phone. As tired as she was, Ash knew that Meredith wanted to spend some time with her.
Zola, Ellis, and Derek were out with Amelia and Maggie, so the house was empty. Meredith was sitting up and waiting for Ash. They didn't say anything to one another at first. Meredith could see how tired Ash was, so she just moved her legs off of the couch to make room for Ash. Ash just flopped back against the couch, not bothering to take off her work clothes.
"Long day?" Meredith asked.
"Longest day of my career," Ash answered. Meredith frowned as she wrapped her arm around Ash's shoulders. Ash leaned into Meredith's touch, glad to have some much needed comfort. "You know that senator's kid that got robbed? They gave me his case. Merkling told me that if I didn't solve it by the time I left, there wasn't much point in me coming back."
"What an asshole," Meredith huffed. She had always hated Ash's boss. In the scheme of things, he was middle management, but the man acted like he ran the entire Seattle police department. "Are you hungry, there's some leftovers in the fridge that I can heat up for you."
"Maybe in a bit. I kind of just want to sit here with you for a while. Tell me about your day." Ash shifted slightly on the couch so that she was looking at Meredith. After a long day of a staring at paperwork and computer screens, Meredith was a nice change of scenery. Ash could have stared at Meredith for the rest of her life and been happy.
"There's not much to tell. It was a slow day at the hospital, so I got to come home on time. The kids missed you at bedtime, but we got through it anyway. I wanted to go in and see you, but I didn't want to distract you. I went to bed a bit early, so as you can see, I got up a bit earlier than normal too. I don't know what else to tell you," Meredith said. They sat in silence for a couple of moments, and Meredith was certain that Ash was on the verge of falling asleep before she spoke up.
"Is that my shirt?" Ash was certain that it was her old Huskies soccer shirt from college. It fit Meredith perfectly, better than Ash ever thought that it had fit herself. Especially after college. Ash tried her best to keep herself in shape, but it wasn't the same whenever her entire life wasn't about being in top condition for her team. Still, Ash loved the way she looked, especially whenever Meredith got caught oogling her.
"I don't know. Amelia found it when we were cleaning out the closet, and it looked cozy," Meredith said. Ash knew that Meredith was well aware that it was hers. Meredith was just a little embarrassed. Ash didn't think there was anything to be embarrassed about, but she'd spare Meredith any humiliation that she could.
"Well, if it is, it looks much better on you than it ever did me," Ash complimented. Meredith blushed and tried to turn her head away from Ash. Ash let Meredith turn her cheek before leaning up to kiss it.
"Oh, I don't know about that. You could wear a plastic bag and everyone around you would swoon," Meredith said. This time, Ash was the one fighting the urge to hide as heat settled in her cheeks.

hellooo :) maybe a meredith grey x child reader where reader is her daughter and becomes jealous of baby zola and the attention she’s getting from everyone?
Tumblr media
ᕚ---ᕘ
A cold autumn wind blew through the streets of Seattle as Meredith Grey quickly reached the front door of her charming home. Her long, blonde hair swirled in the wind as she hurried to get to her home before the storm. The day at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital had been chaotic as usual, but Meredith was looking forward to finally spending time with her two daughters.
As she opened the door, she was greeted by a cheerful laugh coming from the living room. A warm smile appeared on her face as she discovered the source of the laughter. There, on the carpet, were her two daughters playing. Your little figure was visibly trying to turn on the chime for Baby Zola and imitate her to sleep. But beneath the apparent harmony, things were simmering, and the tension between you and Zola was hard to miss.
Meredith's heart melted at the sight of the two of you. Zola was her adopted daughter who had come into her life several weeks ago and had made her world even brighter ever since. But you were something very special. You were the result of the love between her and Derek, her late love. You were her miracle, her little daughter that she never thought she would have.
"Hello, my darlings." The blonde greeted you both as she sat down on the carpet next to you and took little Zola in her arms. She lay still, with wide, curious eyes darting between Meredith and you. You looked up from your toys and beamed at them. "Mummy!" You exclaimed happily, handing her a stuffed animal you were busy with. She smiled lovingly at you. “Hello, my sweet y/n,” she said softly, stroking your hair.
Your face lit up when you felt your mother's hand, but then your gaze turned away from her and looked at Zola, your expression turning slightly downwards.
A pang of concern shot through the blonde's heart as she saw your attention focused on your sister. Since Zola came to the family, the Grey-household had been tense and Meredith had noticed how the dynamic in the family had changed. You had initially been thrilled to have a little sister, but over time a subtle jealousy seemed to creep in.
“Did you have a nice day, y/n?” She asked, trying to start the conversation with you. You nodded excitedly and began to talk about your adventures at school and on the playground with the nanny. You were positively overflowing with excitement, and Meredith couldn't help but be proud of her bright, lively daughter.
But when Zola started to scream, your eyes widened and your look showed a mixture of confusion and pure jealousy. She could see the conflict in your eyes and felt a lump in her own throat. You were so full of love and longing for attention from her, but you didn't know how to get it. And she couldn't give you all of her attention since she had a small baby and was a single parent.
While she tried to feed and calm Zola with a bottle, you seemed reserved and withdrawn. Your little eyes sparkled with suppressed anger as you kept glancing over at them, seeing Zola still in your mother's arms.
Meredith noticed this and tried to lighten the mood. "Why don't you two play together after Zola has finished eating? Maybe you can tell her a story or show her your stuffed animals?" She suggested, hoping to bring you and Zola closer together again.
However, you just looked at her and said nothing, too caught up in your own anger to accept your mother's suggestion. Instead, you picked up your little stuffed bunny and clumsily threw it in Zola's direction. The toy unfortunately hit Zola on the left side of her face and she started screaming with the bottle she had in her mouth, slightly injuring her.
Meredith, who was aware of what was happening but had had a slow reaction time that evening, quickly lifted her into her arms and comforted her while she turned her gaze to you, which was full of shock and guilt.
"I can't believe you did that, y/n! What were you thinking?" the blonde scolded as she gently rocked Zola back and forth. You looked down in shame and started to cry too. "I'm so angry and sad." You confessed, your voice shaking, and your mother felt a twinge of sympathy, but her anger outweighed everything else. "That's not an excuse, y/n. You can't just throw things at your baby sister when you're mad. That's very dangerous."
You sobbed even louder and then ran away to your room in tears. Meredith sighed heavily and lay down on the sofa with Zola. Her heart ached with worry for both daughters. How could she manage to restore harmony in her family when tensions between the two of you were growing?
She gave you time to calm yourself down after the jealousy between you and Zola had reached its peak before she decided to have a conversation with you. As night fell and the stars lit up in the sky, Meredith put Zola to bed. She sang a gentle melody to her and lovingly stroked her hair until the little girl fell asleep peacefully.
With a deep breath she made her way to your room. She knocked softly on your door before entering to find you sitting on the bed playing with your Barbies, your eyes still red from crying. “Y/n, love, can we talk for a moment?” Your mother asked you softly as she sat down next to you and you nodded, looking up at her, your eyes full of uncertainty.
"I know it can be difficult adjusting to a new family member, especially one that needs as much attention as Zola," Meredith began sensitively and you lowered your head, stroking your Barbie's hair nervously. "I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't mean to hurt Zola. I just feel so alone sometimes, even when you're there." You confessed quietly and she immediately opened her arms.
You threw yourself into her embrace and she felt the pain you expressed in your words. "It's okay, love. It's normal to feel jealous sometimes and we have to learn to deal with it. But I want you to know that you are just as important as Zola. I love you both so much, and I I will always be there for you, no matter what happens."
You looked at her with tears in your eyes. "Really, Mom? Do you love me as much as Zola?" You asked, continuing to cling to the blonde as if you never wanted to let go of her again. "Yes, really. You are my little princess and I want you to be happy," she answered you lovingly and a soft smile appeared on your face. "Thanks, Mom. I love you too."
Determined to make a fresh start, Meredith grabbed one of the Barbies and started playing with you. The two of you were immersed in a world of fantasy and adventure as you laughed and had fun together. In that moment, the blonde vowed to do everything in her power to make sure you felt loved and accepted. You were her little princess, her precious gift, and she would never abandon you.
And so the two of you played long after bedtime into the night, united by your love for each other.

 Hi, can you do a meredith grey x reader where meredith can’t decide who to pick between reader and Derek. Then she makes her decision once she sees her come into the hospital after she gets injured? Please?
❛ 𝑰 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 ❜
𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜: Meredith Grey x f!reader ♡
𝘼/𝙣: Sorry for the wait 🙏This was a good idea anyway anon, I hope you'll enjoy this!!
Tumblr media
Even though your relationship didn't last long, this girl could make you feel so damn good. Meredith Gray is one of those people you never wanted to lose.
Everything seemed to be fine, but then... he came along. Derek Shepherd, one of the world's most famous neurosurgeons who would come to work in the same hospital as you. Well that's great. But beyond that he was also Meredith's ex-boyfriend, and since he'd arrived she'd gotten weird.
She had begun to behave differently with you, and when you found out why you immediately felt like a useless object. Did she still love him?
Herself had declared that she didn't know. She said that it had been one of her most important relationships to her, and that ending it had been so hard. And she was probably retrying everything right now. You didn't even know if still believe her when she told you to care about you.
Sometimes meetings between you, Meredith and Derek happened so embarrassing that you would want to disappear from the whole world. More you got to know him, more he just seemed like an asshole, you had no idea how could Meredith fell for someone like that.
Since she didn't intend to do anything to change the situation you decided to walk away from her. She seemed to have noticed it, so when she saw you she often tended to follow you to try to talk to you, and you couldn't take it anymore.
"Y/n, please, wait!" you heard her voice coming from behind you as you went down the stairs.
"What do you still want to me?" you addressed her in a rather annoyed tone.
"Y/n, I really care about you, you must believe me, but-"
"But what?" you interrupted her. "Meredith, I'm the last person in the world who's going to tell you what to do and stop you from being happy. If being with Derek is what you want, go. I'm not going to stay here and wait forever for a person who doesn't even know what wants and playing with other people's feelings. I knew what I wanted, and it was just to be with you, but sadly it doesn't always go as hoped..." you could see the tears in her eyes before you could walk away. As difficult as it's been, it was the only solution, but it hurt you badly.
From that moment the only thing you waited for was the end of the day to go home. You would have sat on the sofa and started drinking to forget all this crap.
You left the hospital, went to your car and you've gone. You were just calmly continuing on your way, the sun was bothering your eyesight, so you reached over to get to your bag and get your sunglasses, but you just dropped everything. You huffed and turned for a moment to gather everything up, sorted yourself out, and immediately you saw the car in front of you stopped. You pressed your foot quickly on the brake, but since you would never be able to stop in time you swerved sharply. You couldn't even see where you had crashed as you hit your head for the impact, and after that you didn't remember anything.
When you woke up you were so confused, everyone was around your stretcher. You wanted to try to say something, but you felt like you didn't quite have the strength.
You were hearing them talk about a possible concussion, when all of a sudden you started getting severe pain in your abdomen, and everyone leaned over having heard you moan.
"Possible internal bleeding, let's take her to the operating room, right now!" they began to take you away, while you still looked around and the pain took over. Then you saw her, Meredith. She seemed to freeze completely at the sight of you like this. But it was certainly not the right time to think about this.
The surgery had gone well fortunately, now you were alone in a depressing room to say the least. You felt your head pounding, but at least the rest of the pain was under control.
"Y/n" you turned to see Meredith near the edge of the door. "Can I enter please?" there was nothing you could do to stop her being stuck in a hospital bed, so you just nodded.
"How are you?" she sat next to you.
"I've been better..."
"I'm so sorry" her gaze was sad.
"Well it's my fault, I got distracted for a second..."
A strange atmosphere had formed in the room, accompanied by an awkward silence.
"Y/n, I- I've never been really good with new experiences..."
"Meredith, we don't have to talk about it now-"
"No, please listen to me. I've never been good with it, and for me with Derek it's been very important. But there's nothing between us anymore, and knowing you it's been one of the best thing until now. I want you with me, I chose you, and I'll always choose you" these words lit up your face and your mind, almost making you feel better. You flashed her a big smile and she shook your hand.
"If I knew it would take an accident to make you say it, then I would have done it long ago" you both laughed.
"Shut up!" she looked at you smiling and gave you a little kiss on your forehead.

“are we there yet?” Jason said looking out the window of the car. I smiled at my son's brightness as he awaited our over due visit with his uncle Derek.
“almost honey” I said taking my eyes off the road for a second to look at my son.
The drive was long and it was making us both extremely antsy but it beat flying in a plan. I hated flying and my son had never really experienced it but he decided he'd never get on one due to all the movies he's watched.
The longer we drove the darker it got... And the storm fell heavier. The ran plunked on the car loud and fast as I drove down the highway. He had about an hour till we got to Seatle and I was extremely thankful. My anxiety spiked as I saw a car behind swerved then sped up.
“mom?” Jason asked.
“hang on” I mumbled and tried to speed up. The other car did beat me to it and swayed right. I gasped as the tired screamed and hit our car head on.
“mommy!”
Then it when black...
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
“Sloan, make sure the kid is okay” Webber shouted from the other side of the ER. As Jackson left to help Derek and April Mark ran to where he was instructed. He pulled the privacy curtain back and saw a small boy who was about ten years old. The little boy looked up at Mark with eyes that looked all to familiar. His hair was also a dark blonde that was shockingly familiar
Mark hesataed for a second and the two boys studied each other. The Boy titled his head for a second then Mark shaped out of it.
“Hey, kiddo what's your name?” he asked checking his head for any cuts. He only had one and it was on the left side of his forehead.
“Jason, sir”
“I'm Dr. Sloan” Mark smiled softy as he cleaned the kids cut. He couldn't shake this feeling, it was like he knew the kid or seen him before.
“is my mama okay?” he asked. Mark looked at the chart and his eye brows scrunched together as he barely heard the question. The Boy and his mother had the last name Shepherd... That's just a coincidence, right? Shephard is a common last name.
“Dr. Sloan?” the boy said softly. Mark quickly closed the chart then turned to the boy with a small smile.
“I'm sure your mom's fine, but wait here” before the Boy could argue mark was gone like a flash of lighting. He made sharp turn and nearly ran into the threshold of the room where the boy's mother was in.
His heart stopped as he watched a teary eyed Derek and Meredith giving the woman chest Compressions. “y/n...” he breathed out and stumbled backwards into the wall with his hand over his mouth.
Bailey looked over clules to the connections. “Sloan we'll need you on standby there's a nasty cut on this poor girls arm”
Her voice was muffled to him and then a ringing followed as he stood there shocked. There was nothing on his face... It was just blank.
Derek looked up and staired at his best friend with rage and sadness. Of course the two had made up and it killed Derek that he had to keep Jason a secret but at the same time anger and resent fueled him.
“stay with Jason, Mark!” Derek yelled as he checked y/n's eyes. In the back of Mark's mind he wanted to know how he knew the kids name but at the same time he left like a mindless robot.
He left the room as tears pricked his eyes. He tried to control himself but he couldn't help but shake as his stomach turned. He felt his whole body move uncontrollably and before he knew it he had emptyed his stomach in the trash can behind the nurse's station. Due to the commotion in the ER he calmed down in peace. But only one person noticed Mark Hurling in the small trash can.
“dude, you okay?” the same small voice said from behind.
Mark's eyes went wide and quickly covered his mouth and turned around. He looked down and saw the same damn eyes stare back at him.
“you shouldn't be up... You could have a conceson or-r” he's started to stutter unprofessionally as he paced infront of the boy. Boy looked up at him like he was crazy.
“I'm fine... Where's my mom?”
Jason didn't get his awnser as Mark quickly pulled him out of way. The fith strecher of the night came barreling through almost missing the boy.
'how many heart attacks can this kid give me? I just met him' mark thought as he pulled he boy to his chest and out of harms way.
Mark knelt down infront of Jason holding his shoulders. “are you okay?”
The boy nodded and smiled. Mark's steal blue eyes widened as it was like looking in a mirror. His mouth opened but no words came out. At least to the boys knowledge as a familiar voice shouted over Mark's.
“Jason! There you are” Jason's eyes widen with relief. “Aunty Amy!” the boy ran to the female shepherd and hugged her tight. Amilea looked at Mark and sighed.
“Aunty Amy...” Mark said like he got the answer he wanted all night.
“is my mom okay?” Jason asked Amilea. Amilea sighed and picked him up and carried him into the waiting room where it was quite. Mark follow as he wanted more awnsers.
“so this is your aunt?” Mark asked softly. Jason nodded. “and I Have a Uncle that works here too, he's a knea-row.. A-a nurosurgeon” he nodded each syllable as he tried to pronounce the word.
Mark's heart skipped a beat. “how old are you?”
Amilea looked between the almost identical boys. She knelt infront of the seat Jason was setting in and talked over him.
“you don't have to awnser that” Jason looked confused as he looked at the two doctors.
Mark got impatient and frustrated with Amilea. He ignored the female Shepherd and looked at Jason... Only Jason.
“how old are you kid?”
“10...now where the heck is my mom!?” Mark covered his mouth and set down as the months and years all fell into place in his mind. He sat there speechless as Amilea turned to her Nephew.
“your mom has to have surgery... She hit her head pretty hard and Dr. Sloan here is gonna stich her arm up... She'll be all better in no time”
Jason looked down with teary eyes and a pouty lip. He sniffed and cried into her shoulder as Amilea picked him up.
“hey” she started and pulled her head back so she could see the boy thst was hiding in her neck. “your mamas tuff right?”
He nodded without a sound. “and Uncle Derek is the smartest doctor you know right?”
Jason nodded again and this time Amilea nodded with him. “well you got nothing to worry about... Everything will be fine”
Amilea looked at Mark. “you got a surgery to get to, right?” Mark nodded silently and stood up. “don't let her down again... Or him” Amilea mumbled as he robotically walked away
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
“why didn't you tell me about Jason?” Mark asked as he stitched up y/n's arm. He felt his stomach turn as he did his best not to ruin the elephant tattoo she loved so much with stiches.
“I wanted to tell you but y/n thought it would be better if I didn't” Derek mumbled as he stopped her brain bleed.
Mark scoffed. He had no right to be mad at Derek but he was stood scared and almost relaved that Jason was his. He need to take his frustration out on some rather If it was far or not.
“I naver wanted to hurt her... Let alone loose her” Mark said. He regreted cheating on her since day one and no other woman could match up to her. There was no excuse to what he did but if he got a second chance he wouldn't screw it up.
“she was so broken and mad after addisson she thought you didn't deserve to know” Derek explained. “after she healed she was too scared to tell you... She didn't know how”
Mark looked down after he was done he bandaged up her arm and set next to her as Derek's words ran around his head. In his mind it was all his fault, he wished he could be with Jason since day one... He wished he could have asked y/n to marry him sooner instead of falling into Addison's clutches.
He still had the ring and he carried it around. He didn't know it was a coping mechanism or it was a symbol of the hope that still sparked inside of him.
After the surgery Mark walked into the waiting for with Derek. Mark sighed as he watched Jason and Amilea playing go-fish. Mark quietly knelt next to him and smiled.
“your mama isn't awake yet but do you want to see her?” jaosn nodded softly. Mark picked him up as Jason rubbed his eyes. Derek smiled softly and followed to make sure y/n was recovering properly.
“you gotta be quite, okay?” Mark told him. Jaosn nodded as Mark sat him down.
Mark opened the door and led Jason in. Jason remained quite as he smiled as his mom.
“can she hear me?”
“I like to think so” Derek said.
“hi mommy” jason whispered and placed his tiny hand on hers.
Jason sat with her for a bit longer and talked to her believing she could hear every word. Mark stayed the entire time to and set next to her. This isn't how he imagined spending time with his family but it was the first time he was in the same room with both of them.
At about midnight Derek and Meredith took Jason to their house to watch him while y/n recovers. Mark didn't leave though and he didn't plan on leaving anytime soon.
When He was sure they were alone he took her hand as tears started to fall. “you can't leave me... You can't leave jason”
“God he has your gorgeous eyes... And he's such a good kid... Reminds me of you” he whispered.
“I'm so sorry I hurt you... And when you wake up I'll spend the rest of our lives making it up to you and jason”
Mark didn't know how long he talked to her but before he knew it he feel asleep holding her hand. His deep slumber was interrupted in the early morning of the day but the bed shifting. He slow set up as he felt her squeeze his hand.
“Mark?” she looked so confused as she looked around.
He didn't know what possessed him but he chuckled with reilef as he leaned forward placing his lips to hers. It was quick kiss that held so much meaning.
“I'm so glad you're okay and jaosn perfectly fine he's with Derek and - and I'm missed you so much” Mark started to ramble and quickly stopped when he saw her softly chuckle.
“it's good to see you two Mark” she then looked at him with a serious expression. “I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Jason... I was just so mad and hurt... It wasn't fair to you”
He quickly shook his head. “you have nothing to be sorry for, I broke you and hurt you... And to be honest I've been miserable with out you”
“me too... I want you in jaosn's life” she admitted. Mark smiled. “Whatever you want... He's great kid and I wouldn't have it any other way”
Y/n smiled and grabed his hand. Tomorrow and the near future was uncertain but there was this silent reassurance that everything would be fine.

———
Throughout Lexie’s intern year, Mark and Lexie have been dancing around their romantic feelings to each other.
… Or so everyone thought.
Derek and Meredith got so fed up in the two that they decided that they would take matters into their own hands.
“Why don’t you just ask her out?”
Mark looks up from his tablet at the nurse’s station. “What?”
“You give her all these looks and won’t even ask her out.”
“She doesn’t feel the same way.”
“I call bullshit. She gives you the same looks.”
“Really?” Mark looks at him, intrigued.
“Yes, so ask her out sometime soon.”
After a few seconds of thinking, “Help me plan the perfect date.”
———
At the cafeteria, Meredith sees Lexie sitting at a table on her own eating her lunch. She observes her sister for a bit, seeing her smiling very big at her phone, making her wonder what was it that is making her so happy. She swiftly walks to her sister and sits down on the unoccupied chair.
“Uh, hi?” Lexie confusedly looks at Meredith.
“When are you gonna stop ignoring your feelings from Mark?”
After hearing those worlds, Lexie chokes on whatever she was drinking. Caught completely off guard to what her sister just said.
“I do not have feelings for Mark! What made you think that?”
“Oh, yeah? Come on! You give each other these looks that screams that you want to drag each other in an on call room.”
Wide-eyed, Lexie couldn’t even think of what to say.
“Look. I don’t know how to came to that conclusion, but I can assure you I don’t have these feelings that you’re saying I have. I’ve never even thought about him that way.”
“Not even a little bit?”
“Nope!”
“Well, why not? Mark is totally in love with you.”
“Until he says that, I won’t believe him. But if he did I would reject his advances because that would make me unfaithful.”
With that, Lexie walks away.
“Unfaithful?” Meredith asks herself.
———
It’s now a few days after. The workday was done for Lexie. She was ready to just go home and sleep the night away until she has to come back to work, don’t knowing of a surprise coming her way. Or multiple surprises.
As she’s walking out to the exit of the hospital, she hears quick footsteps behind her.
“Hey, Lexi.”
“Hi, Mark. What’s up?”
“Uh, well, I was just wondering if you have some time after work tomorrow? For some dinner.”
“Like a date?”
“Yes.” He replied confidently.
Not far away, Meredith and Derek are watching the interaction.
“She’s definitely going to say yes.” Derek stated with a smile.
Meredith looks at him sheepishly. “IforgottotellyouthatwhenItalkedtoLexieshesaidthatshewouldturnMarkdownbecauseshedoesn’tseehimanywayromanticatall.” She said very quickly all in one breath.
“Say that agin, but slower.”
“I forgot to tell you that when I talked to Lexie she said that she would turn Mark down because she doesn’t see him any way romantic at all.”
“What?! Why didn’t you tell me.”
“I don’t know! I didn’t believe her, but I should’ve believed her cause she said something about feeling the same way would make her unfaithful.”
“So, she’s in a relationship?”
“I think so.”
“So, Marks gonna get his heart broken?”
“Probably.”
Back with Mark and Lexie, Lexie is speechless while Mark looks hopeful.
“Look, Mark.” She pauses, trying to find the right words. “I am flattered, but I don’t feel anything romantic towards you.”
“What? But Derek said that we look each other the same.”
“Well he was probably seeing things cause I don’t look at you any other way but friendly.”
“Can’t you just give me a chance. Just one date and after you can tell me to stop if you still don’t feel the same.”
“I can’t. Besides…” Lexie looks away, which happens to be over by the door. At that moment she sees someone walk in holding a bouquet of flowers, wearing an army uniform, taking the beret off their head. Lexi becomes wide-eyed, not believing who she’s seeing.
At the same time, the person looks up, meeting Lexie’s eyes. Her eyes light up, holding up the bouquet of flowers. Lexie completely forgets about Mark and runs past him, jumping into the arms of this woman.
“Oh my god! How are you here? I thought I wouldn’t see you until next week?” She said into his neck, arms clinging onto her.
“I lied.” She said, chuckling into her hair. “Wanted to surprise you.”
Meredith and Derek took this time to walk up to Mark who had a confused and hurt expression on her face as Lexie pushed past him, essentially forgetting about their conversation.
“What just happened?” Meredith was the one to break the silence.
“I have no clue.”
“I asked her to give me a chance at on date to see if her mind changes, but she said no.”
“That’s probably the person she’s in a relationship with then.”
“She’s in a relationship and you didn’t tell me?” Mark asked Derek, hurt.
“I didn’t know until a couple minutes ago. Meredith knew, but didn’t believe her.”
“Even if she’s in a relationship, I usually still get the girl.” Derek looks at him with a face that says ‘really.’ “Right… sorry.”
A few more moments of watching the two embrace, Mark clears his throat cause the two to break apart and look at the others.
“Oh, yeah. Come here.” Lexie says, grabbing the woman’s hand, pulling her towards the group. “These are my friends Mark, Derek, and Meredith.”
“Meredith, your sister?”
“That’s the one.”
“Well it’s nice to meet you all.”
“How do you know Lexie?” Marks straightforwardly asks.
“Uh, well we met in high school actually. Sophomore year, specifically.”
“So, been friends ever since.”
“Best friends. She’s actually my ex-girlfriend.”
“You guys dated?” Mark asks, at the same time Lexie says, “You need to stop calling me your ex-girlfriend.”
You look at her with a smirk. “It’s true though.”
“I’m confused.” Derek speaks up.
“She always introduces or calls me her ex-girlfriend whenever we meet new people.”
“I’m still confused.”
“We’re married, but she technically is my ex-girlfriend because now she’s my wife. And that makes us in-laws.” You clarify, looking towards Derek and Meredith.
As the in-laws converse, Mark is stuck in his own head, reeling back to all the times Lexie could’ve reciprocated his same feelings, but now that he really thought about it, she never showed any signs of it.
“Well, we should go. I’m exhausted and I’m sure this one is too.” Lexie said, the whole day of work finally getting to her. “And Mark. I hope you find someone that is right for you.” With that, she grabs your hand and intertwines it with yours, pulling you to her car.
You both walk away, oblivious to the three staring at your retreating figures.
“We all didn’t read the situation correctly, I guess.” Meredith speaks up, still staring at her sister and husband.
“Don’t worry Mark, you’ll find someone.” Derek pats Mark on the shoulder. They both leave him, walking away, holding onto each other.
Mark is still staring at the both of you, seeing you pick Lexie up bridal style, her arms wrapped around your neck, pulling you into a kiss, smiling at each other as you pull away.
Still wishing that Lexie was his to love, Mark is content that she’s happy and loved, even it it’s not with him.

Survive
Alex Karev x Sister!Reader
Summary: After many years, Alex meets his little sister again under unexpected circumstances
Word count: 1.5k
Warnings: angst, accident, injuries, medically innacurate
Note: English isn’t my firs language, so I’m sorry if (when) you found mistakes.
Tumblr media
It was hard to figure out Alex. If someone, she knew that the best from all. She was the closest to him, until they were separated to different foster family. That event unutterably shattered them. They were each other’s last promise of safety. That was ripped away from them, and there was nothing they could've done in order to stop that. Neither of them wanted a normal family if that meant that they have to go separate ways. But they had no voice in the matter. Was life ever fair though?
She wanted to be there for him, help him through his first heartbreak, celebrate his graduation with him. She wanted to cry on movies to have Alex laugh at her and maybe sometimes make him waffles.
At first they tried to keep in close touch, but the new forced family didn’t like their continous communication. So it was cut shortly.  The only thing that helped them stay a bit connected was their last name.
Alex didn’t talk about his sister. Not in his personal life, nor in the hospital. Although these two sometimes interwined. His sister was ripped away from him and that was something he couldn’t really process since then. And even if he wanted to talk about her to his friends and collegues, even then he couldn’t because he hadn’t heard about her since. Above that it was many years ago so he thought she wouldn’t even want to hear from him. They both believed this crap. So life went on and neither of them tried to find the other.
✦✧✦✧    ✦✧✦✧    ✦✧✦✧    ✦✧✦✧
The ambulance just rolled in with another case for the Grey- Sloan Memorial Hospital. The paramedics opened the door and immidiately started talking and informing the medical team about the patient and her injuries. Car accident. Fast tachycardia. Internal bleeding. Head and chest injuries. Severe fractures. Collapsed lung. Based on the shared informations it was clear to Owen, Meredith and Pierce that the female on the gurney, in her mid 20s was deep in the woods. They found out that her identity is yet unknown but the scene investigators were going to inform them based on the ID found in the wreck as soon as possible.
The team of three wheeled the patient into the ER and their number was increasing with other nurses and doctors. They were in need of more hands.
„Somebody page Shepherd!” was heard the instruction.
„Okay honey, what’s your name? Can you hear me?”- asked Price while focusing on the stetoscope’s sound. She never got an answer. The girl was out again by the end of the question. The entire room was in a rush, trying to work against time and minimalise the damage what the woman’s body’s suffered.
„We need a chest tube, now!”- and with that Owen got to it.
A nurse suddenly rushed into the room with Amelia who already started to assess the injured person’s condition.
„We have a name, age, blood type…”
As soon as the nurse took in the reaction to her past sentence she realised it would’ve been better if she doesn’t share the information before the surgery. Everyone froze when they heard what was the name. Meredith looked up, and locked her eyes with Owen’s, frowning. Y/N Karev. Karev. That couldn’t be. It must be accidental.
The medical team had to recover, she didn’t have much time. They did the urgent examinations, and headed to the OR, quickly. Even though they didn’t know for sure that Y/N was indeed a relative of Alex or not, they felt some sort of extra pressure, what they had to shut out as the OR door closed.
Some time later in the OR there was so much blood and there was still so much to do. They started doubt if they could stop the bleeding and get to the next task in time. Pierce was worried about Y/N’s heart. Didn’t know if it could take such a pressure for too long. They have to get back if she stabilised a bit. Although Amelia’s stopped the bleeding in the brain, she wanted another scan just to be sure. After some argument between the doctors they decided to close her up and let her rest a bit in the ICU.
Let her rest. But who is she? Meredith although was tired, but had to find Alex. She'd hoped that it’s some kind of misunderstanding. She walked on the long hallway of the hospital, her eyes were scanning the area, she wanted to find Karev. Since it was dark outside, maybe he has finished with his shift and took off with Jo already. No, that wouldn’t be great.
Suddenly at one of the corners they bumped into each other, she'd found Alex.
„What?” - He instantly knew something'd bothered Mer. By how she carried herself, and the look on her face.
„You look like you just saw a ghost.” He meant this as a joke, but his friend didn’t reacted to it like that.
She didn’t want to have this conversation in the middle of the hallway, hell, she didn't want to have this conversation at all, but she couldn’t hold the question in anymore.
„You don’t have a sister who I don’t know about, right?”- she asked desperately.
Alex was staring at his friend. He was expecting almost everything just not this. Why would she ask something like this?
„Wha– what are you talking about?” he was now panicking. Why would she asked something like this in the middle of her shift. It didn’t make sence.
„We just had a surgery on a girl. Her name’s Y/N. With your last name. She isn’t…”
And that was the moment when she knew she didn’t need Karev to answer her question anymore. He already did with his reaction.
He couldn’t think for a moment. He felt like the entire hospital started spinning, while his stomach was growing smaller.
„Where is she?” He felt like his heart was beating almost against his skin tissues while displacing his lungs and ribs out of the way.
„She is in the ICU for now, but Alex…” – he didn’t hear what she said after, because he started sprinting to the stairs leading to the named place. No, this couldn’t be. Sometimes he played with the thought what’d it be like to see her again, to talk to her for the first time in years. He was sure he would be nervous, yes. But he was confident to say that he wouldn’t have thought in his worst nightmare that their reunion would be something like this.
At the nurse station he got the direction to the asked patient’s room. He stepped through the sliding door, and there was no doubt anymore. He was in his sister’s hospital room.
Inside the room there were still nurses adjusting the machines and take her last vitals, but slowly they’d finished for now.
He couldn’t believe what he'd seen. She was so broken. At the first sight he noticed her head was shaved and bandaged. She was attached to a ventilator, covered in bruises and scratches. In his deep thoughts he didn’t even realise that the nurses’d left as well as Meredith was already by his side.
He had to sit down, or else his legs were going to give out.
He didn’t have to ask. He could see that Y/N’s situation was pretty bad. But he wanted to know the details. All of them. Whats up with her brain, how are her organs and limbs and how was and is their oxygen supply? How bad was the bleeding, how many more surgery will be necessary? How many bones were fractured? And who the fuck did this to her? He couldn’t decide which one to ask first if he was going to find his voice.
The doctor and friend standing beside him knew that he would want answers to his unasked questions. So she started to listing out loud what had happened before and during the life saving surgery. Told him who are his sister’s doctors, in case he wanted to get some more info. He had found out that one of the most concerning injuries affected her brain heavily.
Meredith knew exactly how does it feel to watch somebody you love on life support. Hear the ventilator do its job. And even if it’s part of their everyday life as a doctor, it doesn’t prepare them for the case when its not a person whom they know nothing about. She knew there was nothing she could say or do that’d make this easier for him. So she just stroked Alex’s shoulder to let him know that she was there for him, whatever was going to happen and assured him that later she’d send Amelia in, to inform him with the specific details. With that, she left the room.
Alex didn’t know what’d happened to her since he wasn’t a part of her life anymore. He didn’t know why she was in Seattle, hell he didn’t even know if she was going to make it. But he knew for sure that he was going to stay by her side and there isn’t anyone who could debar that this time.
He wouldn’t admit but he was afraid all along that there would be silence after everyone left him alone with his sister. But there wasn’t. He heard the late night traffic of the city, the sirens from the surrounding streets, the machines in the room, and his sobs as well. Even if he only wanted to hear his little sister’s voice.
