Random question, how come Goldie's form is that of a small child if he died in the womb? And if his spirit/soul aged, how come he's not the same age as John? Was there something that happened that stopped his aging, or is that just how John sees him?

Other than me following how Goldie/Golden Boy looks like in his first appearance in Hellblazer (though I aged him down a bit), I imagine that John perceives Goldie as someone growing with him but as John quickly loses his childhood innocence, Goldie stops growing.

In his teen years John tries stubbornly to be independent, out of survivor's guilt that he's growing up while his brother can't.

They stick together. I like to think of Goldie as the one spirit out of Constantine's ghost crew who doesn't hate or blame him for their death. John still feels awful about it because of course.

I do enjoy reading people's interpretations of Goldie's age being a reflection of how John remembers and grieves him. That's sweet.

Scrooge McDuck's Easter Party - April Fool's Day and Autism Day - Scrooge McDuck's Duck Friends, Family and Rivals - Duck comics and Duckverse

Once again, I wish everyone a belated Happy Easter as well as a Happy April Fool's Day and a Happy Autism Day and Month! I know I didn't make it in time to do it and post it, because I had other things to do, but I certainly did a drawing related to the previous one (Donald's nephews' birthday), only with grown-up characters from Duck comics. Yes, since Easter almost fell on April Fool's Day, Donald and his cousin Fethry burst into Scrooge's party and douse him with a bucket of water, which of course Scrooge doesn't like. And Fethry Duck is definitely autistic (like me lol) who likes to try all kinds of things. And yes, a cake, cookies, and Easter eggs (mostly chocolate eggs) were prepared for the party. I didn't manage to draw all the characters that I love and that I know from Donald Duck comics (either from American or from European, especially Italian comics) because not all characters would fit in one drawing, and I apologize for that. Here are Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Scrooge McDuck, Flintheart Glomgold, John D. I’m sad we couldn’t see more of Webby and Goldie’s dynamic in Foreverglades, love the Scroldie development ofc, but still . 😔😔

Anyway, my interpretation of their relationship is they dislike each other a normal amount, like, they’re at a point in dislike where one would not actively search for a way to inconvenience the other, but if presented with the opportunity, they would take it.

Though, they do learn to get along in the future. :3

Oh, I love this interpretation of Goldie! It gives you a lot of room to play in the space, especially if you contrast it with Golden Boy. Absolutely love it 🤍

Thank you, I'm glad you like Goldie!! And that's true, Golden Boy could still exist in my reimagining since he's from an alternate dimension where he survived and John didn't. He'd be pretty amused at the thought of sentimentally clinging to a lost twin- since he believes in survival being "my right and due".

Author’s Note: Here's a Goldie Oldie to hold you wonderful readers over until I can update Strangers in the Night. Hope to do so soon, I am determined not to do what happened last year and have a whole school year go by between updates, but it's slow going, I'm afraid. This oneshot is short and pure fluff, the biggest issues is probably that it takes place in Season 8 and references Sam, though not by name, but it's so quick and really the focus is on Red and Kitty and some cute humor and fluff.
