Am I the only one that found that creepy little victorian girl suspicious?
She hires Charles and Edwin to help her "friend" Crystal when she's possessed and describes these sweet playful moments they had together before the possession. But the girl she described is nothing like the person Crystal was before David the Demon took control.
Also once the demon is removed, we never see her again. Shouldn't she have been there to check on her "friend" or at least pay the boys for services rendered?
Who the hell was she really and where did she go?

do you ever think about how in the literal very first scene with Rebecca, we learn that Unit Bravo had no idea she even had a kid
she chose UB and The Agency over the detective so consistently, so frequently, that her team didn't even consider that she had some kind of life outside of them, with someone waiting for her at home

Okay so I don’t feel the most qualified to talk about this, especially to make any value judgements on how any of this was handled, so I would love other people to add in if they feel like it, but this is eating my brain actually so.
Esther Finch is a funny villain. She’s a joy to watch on screen, even if part of that joy is in hating her. But there’s something that feels very deliberate in the fact that the only two girls (barring in the animated flashback) we see her target are black girls. Becky Aspen and Crystal. I don’t think we’re supposed to infer from this that she only ever targets black girls, but the casting of Becky feels deliberate. While there’s plenty of in universe explanation for why she wants to use Crystal to feed to her snake afterwards and doesn’t ever say, specifically target Niko, it’s still there. And though Niko was just hurt because she got in the way, she’s also another woman of colour we see Esther hurt.
And then at the end Crystal, who many have pointed out has been a voice for women throughout the whole season, stands in front of Lilith, the goddess of wronged women, and screams to her about who gets justice for all the little girls Esther hurt. And then Lilith, played by a black woman, is the one to drag Esther away.
Crystal says to Esther that she knows how anger can poison you. Esther says she learned to be predator instead of prey a long time ago. Do I think that the show literally wants us to think that Esther is a racist who deliberately targets black girls? No. Do I think the casting choices that they made bring up themes of the kind of people who, because they have been hurt or marginalized, want to push others down to have others that they can have power over instead? Whose problems with societal oppression is not that it exists, but that they aren’t the ones who get to benefit from it? I think so.

wait yeah hold on how the hell did edwin open a door from hell to earth? like if powerful beings like the night nurse or certain demonic entities are necessary to open and close doors to other planes (especially hell where souls being trapped there is kind of the point) then what the fuck did edwin manage to pull off? did he somehow trick a demon or whatever into opening one? was one opened for one reason or another– maybe upon a demon’s return from retrieving a soul– and he timed it, booked it, and jumped in? there certainly isn’t just some constantly open ever-accessible door at the top of The Endless Staircase considering that would make hell kind of pointless. did edwin payne manage, somehow, over the span of 70 years, to figure out how to open a door from limbo/the staircase to earth by himself? am i just missing something here?

I don’t know if this has been asked, but do things like Remnant and Agony exist in the Sleuth Jesters AU? Or is there an equivalent?
If not why doesn’t it exist? (Hope that doesn’t come off as rude I’m genuinely curious!)
Remnant does exist. The concepts would be touched on in a Sleuth Jesters sequel; however, I don't know if I'll ever get to writing it, so I'll explain a little here.
Charlie exits as the puppet in Sleuth Jesters alongside 'natural' animatronics such as Sun, Moon, and Eclipse. Charlie was once a little girl who became an animatronic due to her violent end and proximity to an endoskeleton. Her Remnant continues in the puppet endoskeleton.
In the sequel, the vigilante would face another horror from their past while combating a new and dangerous threat—Circus Baby and her gang called the Funtimes. They, Sun, and Moon would have to figure out the mystery of who Circus Baby is, what she's planning, and what she wants with Y/N (and the detectives.)
The mystery begins when Eclipse's grave is found dug up, and his endoskeleton is missing. Y/N fears that Eclipse is back from the dead to finish what he started, but then Michael goes missing. Charlie flies into the detectives' apartment to confront and blame the vigilante for his disappearance. The plot would move along from there, but the concept of Remnant would be discussed and explored further.

efforts to rid my dash of the rpf blogs have been going well, but, alas, there are always more, so i’m gonna get my thoughts out about the most recent things i’ve seen.
so i was looking at a post i very much agree with, only to see this in the comments:
Tumblr media
firstly, where did op mention david/michael shipping? they didn’t. at all. they were talking about the boundless “analysis” (stalking), and how it’s creepy no matter its target; whether it’s predicting the end of a relationship, finding “evidence” of baby trapping or abuse, or insisting on an unconfirmed relationship. all of this is weird.
it’s still equally as weird when the subjects of this wild speculation are f/f or not same sex. i can think of multiple heterosexual examples (it happened in the doctor who fandom, also in the house fandom, although these incidents were both well before my time. i’m using old instances because they’re less likely to ignite a fight, but there are current ones too). our discomfort with this insanity has nothing to do with the shipping being m/m. like nothing. it has everything to do with the fact that none of us know anything about these people, yet you act as though you’re their closest friends and gossiping with them behind the high school bleachers.
i am not assuming that they’re straight, most of us aren’t assuming that, and my gaydar definitely goes off with them, but, like, i’m not assuming one way or the other at all until they explicitly describe the situation, if they ever do.
with regards to the “it’s not speculation when they say it themselves”: georgia’s ig caption genuinely seems like it’s part of a bit to me. like this is totally something that can and does happen platonically, all the time. if she posted something on her story saying “yes david and michael are in a relationship together,” then that’d be enough for me. but everything we’ve seen thus far is just as likely to be platonic. her caption was worded ambiguously, in a way that’s frequently used to describe friends with no romantic interest in each other. whatever it is, they know each other’s boundaries, we don’t.
oh, and, since it’s perfectly fine to make up your own “interpretations” of real people existing objectively outside the realm of your perception: my interpretation of the rpf blogs is that it’s pure wishful thinking. you guys see characters with a strong attraction, played by 2 people with a strong connection, and superimpose your desire for the characters’ relationship onto the real people. but, since you don’t see the actors’ lives in the way you see a characters’ story, you pick apart every snippet that you can find and piece together a narrative. it’s fine when you make up a fun story or write a made up fic on ao3, i don’t have any real ethical objections to fictional rp shipping. however, you guys go way beyond that, and you present your story as an investigation and as an analysis of real life.
that’s what’s creepy. that’s what we don’t like. the absolute worst part is when you go after the kids. sincerely fuck off with that. who do you think you are that you can speculate that david and michael wanted to leave their partners but that georgia and anna “strategically” got pregnant. i have seen people saying that georgia and anna are baby trappers, abusive to their partners and kids, stupid, and manipulative. i have seen people using these exact words to describe georgia and anna in relation to their parenting and the existence of their children. i have seen people say that their children hate them. none of that is excusable no matter what it’s presented as. at the very least, leave their children out of it, please.

crystal's character arc happened because she had to work with someone who was extremely condescending to keep a low paying job to make rent.
and i guess charles and niko and jenny refusing to take any shit and repaying it with kindness, if not niceness, maybe also had an effect i guess

"Found You." A short story by me!!
"I found you!!" I screeched at my sister as she emerged from her not so amazing hiding spot, "I always finding you! You suck at this game!"
My sister scoffed and rolled her eyes, momma says she'll see her brain one of these days, "You only find me because I let you!" Not a chance, she's just bad at hide and seek. Even if she's older than me.
"Nu-uh! Prove it! Hide really *really* good a-and I'll still find you!" She agrees to my terms and I start counting.
"60 seconds!" She tells over her shoulder as she runs away.
That's all it took. Just 60 seconds for my sister to disappear. I remember that day like it just happened, even after 20 years. I closed my little eyes and started counting, I wasn't that good at numbers yet, but I am now. I had visited our old house as soon as I got my investigation licence. Our parents still lived there, so it was nice to see them, but I was on the job.
I searched her old room, and mine. Mom and dad refused to change them at all. There was a thicker layer of dust on her stuff then there was on mine. I read her notebooks, her journals, her old computer still worked too so I searched that. Nothing all that useful though.
Siera wasn't very secretive, she told me everything, and told our parents even more. She couldn't lie if her life depended on it. That was fact.
I searched the house more than once, twice, even three times before deciding to move outside. Looking at the backyard made me feel way too big; this yard used to feel like a jungle when I was 7.
I started walking around the graveyard of painful bittersweet memories, grimacing with a sad smile at the place I had found her last. I had always felt guilty for telling her to hide again. She didn't have to listen to me, but she did. 'That's what big sisters do', she said.
I tried to think how she would think; where would I go, as an 12 year old, to hide from a 7 year old.
My first thought was the treeline, but police and dogs and even helicopters had gone over this forest maybe a hundred times so I decided to rule that option out.
The next thought was the cliffs. We lived in the mountains, no 7 year old would go to the cliffs...
So that's where I went.
The woods were thicker out here, like they didn't want to be walked into. Strangely enough; it got thinner as quick as it had gotten thicker, and the woods were normal again, albeit a little quiet.
It's about midday when I realise I'd been walking for a while. I didn't know the woods were so vast back here; I thought I'd surely have reached the mountains by now.
I paused to take note of my surroundings; trees, weird rock, more trees, a small puddle from the recent rain storm, more trees.. it felt like it was going on forever. I checked my watch to see how much longer I could be out here and–
"What the hell.." I muttered, confused. My watch said 8:45, the exact same time I had walked into the woods back at the house, "Goddamn smart watch.. I probably don't have good connection.." I sighed heavily and shook my head, figuring that I'd just need to judge it based on the sun.
I was about to keep walking when I heard what sounded like a woman's voice far out to my left; against my better judgement and my knowledge I yelled out a simple 'Hello?', only to get silence in return. I shrugged and kept walking, it was most likely a bird.
I kept hearing that woman, she sounded like she was getting closer the more I walked and she sounded like she needed help. 'Shes on my path, why not check it out..' I found myself thinking. And then I found myself walking a little faster; an uneasy feeling started to settle under my skin. Like the unhinged and more deranged cousin of goosebumps.
Then I was running. I wasn't sure what started it; the birds started getting really loud, a heard something big run through the forest–probably a bear–and then, all of a sudden, everything went still.
No more birds. I stopped running, almost tripping. The only sound was 2 pairs of ragged breathing. Mine, and...
A felt a gust of hot air on my back and the smell of rancid, rotting meat fill my nose. I quickly turned around to see—
There she stood; 15 feet tall. Her hair was the only thing that distinguished her. Long and deep, deep red. Her other features were...long gone. Her skin was replaced and stretched over a lengthy, bony body, and it had blackened to the colour of obsidian.
She didn't have a face anymore. In it's place was a long, uneven and cracked, pale white skull. Branch like antlers shot out from either side of her head. This wasn't my Siera anymore, but still...
"I found you, again.."

One thing I love about reading the golden age comics (besides the fact they go unhinged fast) is that it’s nice seeing Dick good at stuff other than acrobatics and being sexualized. The kid is a science genius (especially physics so all you AU ppl if you wanted to make him an engineer it’s plausible), aces just about every subject, takes foreign language classes (I think it was Latin, but I can’t remember for sure), is an ace slingshot user (it’s just hilarious to me that’s never acknowledged and he’s the only hero I can think of who has this skill), he is a good kid all things considered but is absolutely ruthless to criminals. I think it was Detective Comics 46 Where Bruce just let him pick off the riffraff while he dealt with Strange. And he does it in some of the funnest ways possible. Also not that it’s a “OMG Dicknis amazing in it, but I really liked Detective Comics 47. It’s messaging was super hamfisted but it just was a nice story, not amazing or superb, just a good one that reminded a bit on how Bruce was on BTAS which I will favor above just about anything.
