Them! (1954). Really nice slow build of a monster movie, the first 20 minutes or so being exemplary in intrigue and pacing. It might be giant ant attack, but it's a damn good giant ant attack. Underrated and underappreciated for its direction and writing.

I finally got to see Godzilla Minus One. Omgosh it's so good I can't believe how amazing this movie is. I loved it, I definitely plan on buying it to own on DVD.

Mini-review:

Now this is how you make a blockbuster. I must admit I didn't love it as much as Hideaki Anno's cerebral and complex Shin Godzilla, which lives rent free in my head, but this one is still a fantastic piece of popcorn cinema. The human drama is very engaging, and all of Godzilla's scenes are stunning. The CGI is nothing short of awe-inspiring, and it only gets even more impressive when you realize this movie was made for like 10% the budget of most Hollywood blockbusters. So yeah, while Godzilla Minus One will not go down as my favorite movie in this franchise, it's masterfully crafted and undeniably entertaining.

The original was over the top, but this was garishly so. It's subpar for a Ben Wheatley movie. Felt like a porn parody without the sex.😅
