Oliver Willis at Daily Kos:
Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill held closed door meetings where they complained that voters from around the country are organizing and asking them to be stronger in resisting President Donald Trump’s harmful agenda. Axios reports that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries attended the meetings in question, along with members of the House Steering & Policy Committee. The outlet reports that a senior House Democrat told them that Jeffries is “very frustrated” at activist groups like MoveOn and Indivisible that have helped concerned Americans make phone calls to congressional offices. The source added that “people are pissed” that Democrats are receiving pressure to significantly increase their opposition to Trump. “There were a lot of people who were like, 'We've got to stop the groups from doing this,’” a source told Axios. Democratic Rep. Don Beyer of Virginia reportedly complained, "It's been a constant theme of us saying, 'Please call the Republicans.'" “Our supporters are asking Democrats to demand specific red lines are met before they offer their vote to House Republicans on the budget, when Republicans inevitably fail to pass a bill on their own,” Indivisible cofounder Leah Greenberg explained. She said voters have said they want more concrete action from Democrats beyond floor speeches decrying Elon Musk.
Since Trump took office congressional offices have reported a massive increase in calls. A memo distributed to Senate staffers last week read, “The Senate is experiencing an unusually high volume of inbound calls. External callers may receive a temporary busy signal when phoning a Senate office.”
Embarrassing and out-of-touch moment by Democratic leadership attacking MoveOn and Indivisible and similar groups.

Hidup memang begini. Nggak ngasih jeda buat kita meratapi kesedihan lama-lama. Kota tetap sibuk, orang-orang tetap bergerak, dan matahari tetap terbit meski hati kita enggan menyambut hari.
Ayo sembuh. Ayo lanjutin hidup.
Kadang nasihat kayak lirik ini terdengar klise, tapi tetap aja ngena banget buat yang lagi berusaha move on atau melepaskan. Bikin lega karena ada pengingat kalau rasa sakit nggak akan selamanya. Yang paling menenangkan, "nothing heals the past like time."

Much of the gossip these days is centered around Jack Hughes and his girlfriend of one year Sammy (Samantha Marcus). She’s been dragged through the mud on here and it’s getting tired. A lot of the new gen blogs speculate about her like she’s public enemy #1 and call it justified or not but it’s just giving jealous at this point. I’ve been a lurker for years now and the gossip community has really gone down hill over the last 9 months or so due to Sammy being the main focus of absolutely everything, it’s just obnoxious.
BORING! 😴 Here’s a VERY USEFUL tip: hating on a WAG will NOT make you one.
Some of you need to hear that loud and clear because the obsession is getting out of control. The way people pick apart every little thing this girl does, twists it into some insane narrative, and then run with it like it’s fact?? Embarrassing. 😭 It’s just giving jealous at this point. Be so for real: she’s with Jack, not you, and she’s not losing sleep over Tumblr gossip. My anons have filled me in quite a lot on this relationship and god........ 👀
And let’s talk about how hockey Tumblr has fallen off HARD. Like, this is what you spend your time on now? Where is the real tea?! The drama, the receipts, the actual stories worth discussing? Because right now, it’s just a bunch of made-up nonsense and recycled hate. The old blogs would’ve laughed y’all off the platform for this level of delusion. The new generation is so unserious.
You wanna talk real tea? Let’s talk about what actually goes on behind the scenes, not whatever fanfiction you are pushing about Sammy. Be so for real. !!!! 💀

It’s been over 100 years since the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was introduced in Congress, which would prohibit discrimination based on sex. It’s been over 50 years since it was passed by Congress. And it’s been over four years since Virginia ratified the ERA, pushing it over the required three-quarters state ratification needed for amendments to take effect. President Biden said he would ensure The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) would be added to the Constitution, and now, with Trump less than 45 days out from taking office, is the time to get it done. In 2020, the ERA satisfied all the requirements to be ratified but was wrongfully blocked by Trump's administration. President Biden now has the authority, responsibility, and opportunity to institute this critical protection for women, girls, and LGBTQIA+ Americans ahead of the second Trump administration. For this to happen, we need a mass grassroots movement campaign urging him to take action. This is one of the most impactful actions we, the American people, can take in these remaining weeks ahead of the next presidential administration. We just need President Biden to use that authority to direct the national archivist to publish the Equal Rights Amendment into our constitution as soon as possible. Why is this important? Section 1: Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex. Section 2: The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article. Section 3: This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification. The Equal Rights Amendment passed Congress in 1972 and since 2020 has met the three-quarters state ratification requirement necessary for it to go into effect. But because it was not ratified by states within a specific window of time, Republicans in Congress are blocking it from going into effect. Champions in Congress, including Representatives Ayanna Pressley and Cori Bush, founded the historic Congressional Equal Rights Amendment Caucus and have been working to pass the ERA and have it enshrined into our Constitution. They introduced a joint resolution between the Senate and the House that would affirm the ratification of the ERA, but with Congressional Republicans blocking its passage, we need to show the overwhelming public support for the ERA and demand it be passed before Trump takes office. The ERA would not have gotten to where it is today if it weren’t for the tireless efforts of everyday people over the past century—and we have to keep up the fight to demand Congress do its job and recognize the ERA as the 28th Amendment and get it published. “We the people” in the Constitution should include all of us. Honor the century-worth of women and gender-diverse activists who have pushed the ERA forward. Sign the petition to demand Congress recognize the ERA NOW!

Kira Lerner at The Guardian:
Left-leaning organizations say that more than 500,000 people are expected to take to the streets to protest in Washington DC, Florida and elsewhere around the country on Saturday to oppose Donald Trump’s “authoritarian overreach and billionaire-backed agenda”. MoveOn, one of the organizations planning the day of protest they’re calling Hands Off along with dozens of labor, environmental and other progressive groups, said that more than 1,000 protests are planned across the US, including at state capitols. “This is shaping up to be the biggest single-day protest in the last several years of American history,” Ezra Levin, a founder of Indivisible, one of the groups planning the event, said on a recent organizing call. The largest event is expected to be on the National Mall in Washington DC, where members of Congress, including the Democrats Jamie Raskin of Maryland, Maxwell Frost of Florida and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, are scheduled to speak to crowds. “This is a nationwide mobilization to stop the most brazen power grab in modern history,” says the website for the protest. “Trump, Musk, and their billionaire cronies are orchestrating an all-out assault on our government, our economy, and our basic rights – enabled by Congress every step of the way. “They want to strip America for parts – shuttering social security offices, firing essential workers, eliminating consumer protections, and gutting Medicaid – all to bankroll their billionaire tax scam. They’re handing over our tax dollars, our public services, and our democracy to the ultra-rich. If we don’t fight now, there won’t be anything left to save.”
Across the country today, there are going to be at least a thousand Hands Off protests against the Trump/Musk Regime. #HandsOff2025

I guess I’m in a ranting mood tonight but like WHYYYY is everyone encouraging Nancy to move on but no one seems to care about Ace or his feelings or what he’s feeling or him in general??
#nancy drew spoilers#nancy drew#ace (redacted)#nace#like I don’t want anyone to tell him to move on but can someone be on his side??#and the Nick stuff was nice but it also feels misplaced#like him suggesting they’ve always been more than friends juxtaposed with Bess telling Nancy to MoveOn. It just doesn’t fit

Gapapa kalau bukan kamu. Gak harus kamu kok. Kalau kamu gak mau sama aku, aku yakin masih ada jutaan lainnya yang mau. Kalau kamu merasa aku gak cukup untukmu, tapi untukku aku sudah cukup. Aku enggak mau maksa lagi. Aku ikhlas.
