These are what I currently have for the intro music options for Season 1. I have a favorite, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts!
Although the ultimate choice will go to the VA volunteers, as they'll have the most access to everything.
I took music from freesound.org that has the Creative Commons license and edited it a bit. Credit to the people who made this below all the music.

Mixing Two Songs and Editing SFX in Fairlight (DaVinci Resolve): Complete Guide for Beginners 👉 https://bysumex.com/mixing-two-songs-and-editing-sfx-in-fairlight-davinci-resolve-complete-guide-for-beginners/
If you're diving into audio editing and mixing using DaVinci Resolve's Fairlight panel, you're in for a powerful, pro-level experience. Whether you’re working on a film, podcast, or music video, knowing how to blend music tracks and edit sound effects (SFX) will take your production to the next level. Let’s break down the steps for mixing two songs and fine-tuning SFX in Fairlight!
🎼 Step 1: Import Your Audio Tracks
First things first: you need to get your music and sound effects into the project.
Open your project and switch to the Fairlight tab at the bottom of DaVinci Resolve.
Import your audio files by dragging them into the Media Pool. Alternatively, you can right-click in the timeline and select "Import Media" to browse for your tracks.
Create separate audio tracks for each song and SFX by right-clicking the timeline > Add Track > Stereo (or Mono depending on your needs).
🎛️ Step 2: Organize & Sync Your Tracks
To ensure a smooth mixing process, organize your audio clips in the timeline.
Drag Song 1 onto Track 1 and Song 2 onto Track 2. You can adjust their placement to determine where the songs will overlap or transition.
Drop your SFX files into separate tracks (e.g., Track 3 for SFX 1, Track 4 for SFX 2, etc.). This way, you have full control over each sound effect.
🔗 Pro Tip: If you’re working with video, sync your music and SFX to specific moments in the footage. Use markers (press M on your keyboard) to highlight important timing cues like transitions, scene changes, or action moments.
🎧 Step 3: Blend the Two Songs
Now, it's time to start blending your tracks for smooth transitions between the two songs.
Adjust Volume: Use the Mixer (on the right side of Fairlight) to adjust the volume faders for each song. You want to ensure that the two songs are balanced so one doesn’t overpower the other.
Crossfades for Smooth Transitions:
Crossfade is key for making a seamless transition between two songs. Right-click the edge of the first song's clip and select Add Crossfade. Do the same for the second song.
Adjust the duration of the crossfade by dragging the handles to the left or right, depending on how fast or gradual you want the transition.
You can also apply a fade-in at the start of the second song and a fade-out at the end of the first song to ease the transition.
Panning: Use panning to give your songs a sense of space. In the Mixer panel, move the panning knob left or right for each track to give each song a distinct position in the stereo field.
💡 Pro Tip: You can get creative by applying EQ (Equalization) to each song. Use the built-in EQ tools in Fairlight to cut certain frequencies in one song while boosting them in the other, ensuring they sit well together sonically.
🔊 Step 4: Edit and Enhance Sound Effects (SFX)
Now that your music is mixed, it's time to work on sound design. Adding and adjusting sound effects can significantly improve the emotional and immersive impact of your project.
Add SFX: Just like with your music tracks, drag your SFX audio clips to separate tracks in the timeline.
Sync SFX to Visuals: If you’re working with video, precisely sync your sound effects to match the visuals. Zoom into the timeline for more precise placement and adjust the timing using snap-to-frame or sub-frame editing options for frame-by-frame accuracy.
🔗 Pro Tip: For dynamic SFX like footsteps or action scenes, consider breaking the effect into multiple layers. For instance, use one track for the sound of footsteps and another for ambient noise to build a rich audio environment.
🎚️ Step 5: Use Automation for Volume and Effects
Automation gives you detailed control over how your volume, panning, and effects evolve over time.
Automate Volume Changes: If you want the music to lower when dialogue or a sound effect plays, use volume automation. Right-click the audio clip, select Add Automation, and draw your volume curve to create gradual volume shifts.
Pan Automation: You can also automate panning for moving sounds across the stereo field. This is especially useful for SFX like cars driving by or people moving through the scene.
🎛️ Step 6: Add Effects to Enhance Your Mix
Fairlight offers several built-in audio effects to refine your sound.
Reverb: Add reverb to your sound effects to make them feel like they’re in a real space (e.g., a large hall or an echoey room). This is especially useful for dialogue or distant sounds.
Compression: Apply compression to even out your audio levels. This is helpful when mixing dialogue, SFX, and music together, ensuring that none overpower each other.
EQ (Equalizer): Use EQ to remove any unnecessary frequencies from your SFX and music. For example, you can cut the low-end from SFX if it’s interfering with the bass in your music track.
🎥 Step 7: Final Mix and Export
Once your audio tracks are mixed and balanced to your liking:
Listen through your entire timeline and make small adjustments to volumes, panning, and effects.
Check for Clipping: Watch your audio meters for any peaking (red levels). If any part of your mix is too loud, it will clip and distort.
When satisfied, go to File > Deliver, select your output format, and export your final project!
✨ Bonus Pro Tips:
Always keep an eye on your audio levels in the mixer. You want to stay in the -6 to -3 dB range to avoid clipping or distorting.
Use Low-Pass and High-Pass filters in your EQ to clean up any unwanted noise, especially from SFX. This helps to create space for the most important elements (dialogue, lead instruments, etc.).
Save presets for any effects chains you frequently use. This will speed up your workflow next time!
By mastering these essential tools in DaVinci Resolve’s Fairlight, you can create polished and professional soundscapes that elevate your projects. Keep experimenting, and you’ll unlock the full potential of your audio tracks! 🎶🎬

So far, I think we Epic fans have mutually agreed on 3 things:
1) Penelope is taller than Odysseus
2) Polites was holding the infant when he appeared in the Underworld saga
3) Odysseus tucked his hair behind his ear when he sang “Penelope why, you know I’m too shy”

The way Remmick dunking Sammie in the climax of the film worked as a forced baptism? A precursor to a ‘conversion’ to vampirism? The one-sided conversation Remmick has about the imposition of Christianity, his own forcible conversion that he now inflicts on another young man, all while speaking as though he, Remmick, is better and more enlightened than his own oppressors? The violence of the scene, the terror and distress we see on Sammie’s face as he is waterboarded by Remmick. That it is all a metaphor for the actual violence of forced conversion, the mental, emotional, social and even physical helplessness and disorientation that is felt in the victim made tangible through Caton’s performance. All of it inflicted with an intention to control and subjugate.
Holy. Goddamn. Shit.
