I made a post a few months ago about how I thought Madagascar 3 was the worst movie I had ever seen. Well, after 13 years, I've finally changed my mind. A Minecraft Movie is now, hands down, the worst 2 hour experience of my life. I don't even want to get bogged down with hyperbole, it was not funny or enjoyable in any way, shape, or form to me. It is a movie for VERY little kids that was mismarketed as fun-for-all-the-family. I only saw it because it was my nephew's 6th birthday party, and I had to struggle to match his level of enthusiasm throughout the whole thing. He kept leaning over to ask questions and make comments, and I really wanted to walk out and go home. Even if I did, I couldn't ask for a refund because my sister paid for my ticket.

I knew it was from the same director but I was not expecting so many connections Napoleon Dynamite (Idaho, lady with a llama, tater tots, Jason Mamoa basically playing a hybrid of Uncle Rico and Rex Kwon Do), but it lacked all the charm and sincerity of Napoleon Dynamite. None of the Hashtag Quirky™ characters felt like real people. Not the protagonists, and certainly not the high school faculty. They all felt like they were trying too hard to be ironically funny and every single performance fell flat, they even managed to botch Matthew Berry's voice cameo at the end.

It's obvious that they wanted to cast Finn Wolfhard as the main character, but not modern Finn, Finn from 10 years ago, season 1 of Stranger Things Finn, so they got a knockoff dollar store version instead. The sister had nothing to do, the black best friend had nothing to do except say something along the lines of "aw hell naw" multiple times, Jack Black is a sellout who is nowhere near as cool as they try to make him seem, and the villain was sub-Saturday Morning Cartoon levels of intimidating and effective. It was annoying from start to finish.

It felt like a fake movie. Literally like an example script from a college freshman's How to Write Screenplays book; heavy exposition dumps, cliche dialogue ("punched up" with tons of distracting ADR), "one of the characters lies to the rest and then gets revealed and everyone is mad at them," "heroic sacrifice, SIKE, turns out he's alive and comes back 5 pages later," "everyone wants the MacGuffin because it does whatever the plot needs it to," "found family but they've only known each other for one day," quips, quips, endless quips... One of the first lines of dialogue is literally "yep, that's me." This movie has five writers, and none of them thought to do a second pass on that.

You know what? It was a perfect one-to-one adaptation of those clickbait animations my nephew watches on his ipad about things that don't happen in the game like winged shoes and mutant boss mobs and made up crafting recipes. If I had to describe it in one word, "undeserved." Every single joke, every attempt at emotion, all the 2011 Le Epic moments, all of them were undeserved. The movie did nothing to earn any response from the audience. I understand what it must have felt like for my parents to take me to Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 2005 or the Squeakquel in 2009. I loved those as a kid, but they are objectively absolute dogshit, and Hollywood will keep on making movies like that until the end of time.

TLDR, if you are over the age of 12, don't watch A Minecraft Movie. I have absolutely nothing positive to say about it.

Mikey, siendo el niño teatral y creativo que es, eventualmente vió esto como una oportunidad para disfrazarse y caminar libremente entre los humanos.

El truco está en no verse muy real para no destacar entre las demás botargas. Se tuvo que poner ingenioso.

Es el más familiarizado con los humanos, ya que técnicamente creció viéndolos constantemente e interactúa a diario con ellos.

Fue encontrado por un pequeño Rocksteady algunas horas después de ser separado de los demás. Fue más que bienvenido por el resto de los Mutanimales.

Tan fascinado como aterrado por los humanos.

Entiende porqué los otros les temen, pero no puede evitar pensar que fue un humano quien los creó a todos en primer lugar.

Está en conflicto con la idea de darles a los humanos el mismo que han recibido ellos por años. Cree que se volverá un ciclo y no arreglará realmente nada.

Pero para él la familia siempre está primero y no quiere decepcionar.

La mano derecha de Super Fly

Lidera el equipo cuando el hermano mayor tiene que atender otros asuntos.

Ess el mejor estratega y realmente sabe como hacer que todos trabajen juntos.

Puede ser intimidante cuando lo necesita para lidiar con los criminales con los que tratan. Su voz de Bat Man es realmente útil aquí.

Criado en un principio por TCRI

No había pasado mucho desde el incidente con Baxter Stockman. TCRI estaba aún en alerta y cuando escucharon acerca de las extrañas criaturas que aparecieron una noche en medio de Nueva York, un equipo de apresuró a la escena. Lograron atrapar a uno de ellos.

Creció sin afecto físico

Noo había ninguna tortuga en las notas de Stockman, por lo que estaba realmente confundidos sobre de dónde había salido. Tomando en cuenta el encuentro que habían tenido antes con la criatura mosca, teorizaron que los mutantes no sólo tenian poderes, sino que también eran radioactivos.

Los científicos descubrieron rápido que el mutante tenía la inteligencia de un niño pequeño y mucho potencial. Algunos estaba interesados en criarlo como tal, pero Utrom, aún con la idea de crear mutantes sólo para ser usados como armas, se reusó, manteniéndolo sólo para estudiarlo.

Donnie fue tratado inicialmente con ciudado, ya que eran consientes de que técnicamente era aún un bebé y no querían arriesgarse a que su único especimen muriera. Sacaban sólo la sangre suficiente para tener una idea de con qué trabajaban.

Antes de que tuvieran la oportunidad de empezar a extraer su sangre para comenzar a recrear la fórmula del ozze, él escapó.

Esto pasó durante uno de los primeros ataques dee Super Fly a TCRI. Donnie tenía unos cuatro años.

No se alejó mucho. Había estado encerrado toda su vida y no estaba realmente familiarizado con el mundo exterior. Se las arregló para permanecer cerca sin ser visto.

Eventualmente se topó con el anime y One Piece se volvió su favorito rápidamente.

Okay first of all, good for you ^^ You've just watched the third most peak civilization series imo! (2nd is probably PvP Civ and 1st is made by the same ppl called "Galactic Civilization" (highly recommend you watch it, it's actually so peak and so high quality))

Second of all, headcanons

First of all, yaoi. Llama and Sticks aren't actually together, they just have a really complicated friendship to the point where you can't tell if they're flirting or pretending.

I think Carter might have a crush on Johnny and looks up to him a lot and genuinely cares about him. Johnny doesn't despise Carter, that's all I'll say.

I like to think the life timers are like devices implanted into your inner wrist, and the teleportation devices are like watches that are magically(?) (idk but it connects) connected to the life timers.

When Johnny got the mutant to rip the teleportation device off, in reality it was actually his whole hand+wrist? Luckily he's left-handed and all life timers are on your right wrist. Yeah, also the lack of two hands is what lead him to his demise in the end.

I'm gonna be so honest I cannot think of many headcanons rn but I'm sure they exist in my brain somewhere ^^

Jessica West aka Miss Mutant

Jessica West is a malefactor (supervillain) and member of the Doom Enclave alongside Wolf-Man, Sardonicus, Lord Llama, and Nightspell.

Her power comes from a parasitic mutant creature she stole from her old job at a biology lab. She latches this creature onto her head, where it slowly grafts into her DNA and transforms her into a durable, super-strength mutant until she removes it.

The union with the parasite comes at a cost, however. While it boosts her intelligence and understanding of biology and robotics, the creature's temperament has grown increasingly out of control--rotting West's brain.

He has no problem with you if you were born with bone claws, blue skin, or the ability to spontaneously produce fireworks - you’re a red-blooded American no matter what genes you might have, damn it, and you have rights! - but if you start doing vigilante activities or otherwise make unlawful and dangerous use of your power, he’ll do everything in his power to take you down.

9. No, Faunus only exist on Remnant, and their animal traits are never as thoroughly present as Catra’s. I’ve toyed with the idea of making Catra a Thunderan descendant, but that would imply making ThunderCats canon to the Kverse. Which, y’know, not the worst idea, but I’d want to write a story to go along with that and I don’t have one. We’ll leave that one a mystery for now - I don’t think she’d care about her origins either way.

10. Order rules the angels of the High Heavens through [REDACTED], which is, more or less, the remaining consciousness of the primordial deity that originated the heavens. Chaos rules the Hells through the Seven Lords of Hell, one of which is Mephisto (since you asked!).

11. No, because despite a number of similarities, magic in the Kverse doesn’t work the same way it does on Runeterra. It’s not out of the question that someone from the Kverse might see Hextech and be inspired to try to do something similar back home, though.

Temática del mes

Este mes nuestra temática es fallout ¿Por qué? Porque se estreno una serie de esto y decidimos que sería el tema.

Ahora bien como buenos geeks que somos les contaremos un poquito sobre ese mundo (aunque a nadie le importe) y también nos plantearemos un debate sobre ¿Es un mundo interesante para rolear? ¿Qué sistemas le pondrían?

Geek 1: Jugador de fallout

Geek 2: Vio 2 capítulos de la serie (prefirió ir a ver un kdrama y un anime este mes pero hace las preguntas)

Geek 3: Miau dice el michi.

► ¿Cómo venderías para que alguien entre al mundo de Fallout o lo juegue?

Geek 1: "Es un lugar donde lo único que importa es sobrevivir como puedas y llenar tus bolsillos de chapas"

► ¿Chapas?

Geek 1: La moneda del juego.

► ¿A quién esta dirigido el juego?

Geek 1 : Fanáticos de shooters, rpg, y sátiras.

► ¿Lo aplicarás a este mundo en un foro de rol?

Geek 1 : Sí, pero no se encariñen mucho con sus personajes, si mueren se pueden crear otro hay muucho lore para crear.

► ¿Decís que morirían todos?

Geek 1: No todos están aptos para el yermo y no hay paraguas que cubra esa lluvia acida, salvo que tengas una servo armadura.

► ¿Lo harías un mundo libre o que este en una ciudad especifica? ¿Sería una de las canon del juego?

Geek 1: Recomendaría que sea sobre una ciudad canon dado que te podes dar una idea de la situación en la que se encuentran y eso sentaría las bases y condiciones a la hora de rolear. Ahora si buscas dejar tu imaginación libre del "Qué pasaría sí?" explora las otras opciones que no salen en el juego a tu gusto.

► ¿Quién sería el personaje de la cuenta del administrador?

Geek 1: Sería nuestro querido amigo fallout boy dado que es el que nos guía siempre con sus maravillosas propagandas.

► ¿Cómo sería la mecánica de personaje?

Geek 1: Tendría las estadísticas S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Hay una serie de videos en las que te explican especificamente para que funcionan cada una son super fácil de entender.

► ¿Qué es lo mejor del mundo este?

Geek 1: Explotar extremidades a la gente.

Geek 2: ¡¿¿QUÉ?!!

Geek 1: Son lo más divertido para hacer.

Geek 3: Miau.

► ¿Qué grupos pondrías?

Geek 1: Los dividiría en facciones que estén enfrentadas como la Hermandad del Acero, los de Minutemen, los Supermutantes, saqueadores, tribus nómadas, etc o quizás alguna nueva que genere la administración o los usuarios.

► ¿Cómo plasmarías el problema de la radiación y las mutaciones?

Geek 1: Si bien no esta en el juego que te puedas convertir en mutante sí creo que se podría aplicar una mecánica donde puedan mutar partes de tu cuerpo o te puedas convertir en un supermutante o un ghoul dependiendo, se podría aplicar también el radaway para eliminar la radiación.

► ¿Cómo harías el sistema de obtención de objetos?

Geek 1: Dependiendo, podrían lootear (saquear) cuerpos y contenedores, podrían ir a una tienda para hacer trade (trueque), podrían comerciar entre ellos, o podrían robarle a alguien.

► ¿Qué más aplicarías?

Geek 1: El sistema de radio para buscar gente para hacer misiones.

► ¿Cómo sería la ficha de personaje?

Geek 1: Sería solo trasfondo para que puedan desarrollar lo que quieran en el propio rol.

Finalmente, tras años de conflicto y paranoia, la Gran Guerra Nuclear arrasó el mundo en llamas. En el año 2077, los Estados Unidos y China lanzaron sus arsenales nucleares, devastando la civilización tal como se conocía. En el resplandor de la radiación y el estruendo de las bombas, la humanidad se sumió en el abismo de la desolación.

Dos siglos después, en lo que alguna vez fue conocido como el estado de California, se alza un vasto yermo de ruinas y desesperación. La tierra está plagada de peligros radiactivos, criaturas mutantes y facciones en conflicto que luchan por el control de los escasos recursos que quedan.

Los supervivientes de este mundo devastado luchan por sobrevivir en un paisaje desolado, donde la ley del más fuerte reina y la moralidad es un lujo que pocos pueden permitirse. La tecnología de la era preguerra yace en ruinas, pero aún hay quienes buscan desenterrar sus secretos y reclamar su poder.

En este yermo implacable, los jugadores son libres de forjar sus propios destinos. Pueden unirse a facciones como la Hermandad del Acero en su búsqueda de conocimiento tecnológico, formar alianzas con tribus nómadas para protegerse mutuamente o embarcarse en solitarias odiseas en busca de fortuna y gloria.

El peligro acecha en cada esquina, pero también lo hace la oportunidad. En este foro, los valientes y los astutos pueden encontrar la redención en un mundo donde la esperanza es tan escasa como el agua pura.

A thought

Cybernetics and 3d printing and regenerative medicine are going to overlap in a way that some may consider disgusting, but is actually absolutely fantastic.

Okay, so. Currently, we grow agricultural animals for food, and byproducts, like wool. Be it sheep wool, alpaca wool, llama wool, cow leather, horn, etc.

We do not currently farm some animals, despite their superior quality, because doing so is difficult. Like spiders for silk. Yes we do have silkworms and things, but it's not the same.

Nature and animals have manufactured exotic things just as a consequence of adaptation and survival for hundreds of millions of years, and some extremophiles have devised strategies that fit into nature yet offered absolutely surreal amounts of mastery over any given thing. Be it gecko feet being adhesive free super sticky pads, or camouflage, or what have you, or the strongest teeth in nature belonging to a SNAIL.

And they don't use exotic ingredients; they just use common everyday basic minerals and ways to express them at ultrafine molecular levels that make them biologically. So.. It stands to reason, someone that can organize and program proteins and cultures of meat, could program structures to grow these things in controlled conditions.

If you're not picking up what I'm putting down here, I think we're going to have 3d printers that use animal proteins as a base in a chemical nutrient sludge to start them, and then grow those special parts of an animal like they're on a mutant specimen that just so happens to only be, for example, a sheep's skin. So you grow these absolutely enormous sheets of wool uniformly without the necessity of taking care of hundreds of sheep.

Now, logically there's no need for that; you're fighting with agriculture for blankets and shit. Unless you're a psychotic vegan trying to crash the natural grown wool market and ruin profit margins for sheep herders, there are so many better, more exotic and difficult to acquire things you COULD be doing with the technology. For example, you could have the 3D bio-printer make snake venom to make antivenins. You could have this synthetic pit made of viper DNA that is just a gigantic venom gland, literally producing as much venom as the entire family of snakes produce in a year, or have ever produced since nature gave us snake with venom as a defense mechanism.

Isn't that fucking wild?

Or how about an entire tunnel lined with bacteria and acid producing pumps leading to an enormous series of artificial bowels that do nothing but turn food waste into forms of methane that can be sequestered and made useful, dealing with the problem of breaking down bio-matter without intense heat, fires, smoke, or atmospheric contaminants? Dealing with every bit of garbage for unutilized calories and preventing it from just producing millions of tons of methane in a landfill, which pound for pound/kilogram for kilogram can be worse for the atmosphere and the environment than millions of cars on the road? Because organic structures made to exist independent of an animal could do that.

In theory there'd be no biohazard elements, it'd be as dangerous as having a goat die. Yes there's some risk of bacteria and shit, but. it's just a dead body, not a nuclear wasteland.

And speaking of nuclear wasteland; What about artificially generated biological containers for bacteria that consume radioactivity? Imagine some sort of techo-organic GI tract that could consume the Elephants Foot faster than that bacteria have eaten it where it currently lays in Chernobyl. Nuclear waste that would've taken tens of thousands of years, or centuries after vitrification, gone in months.

Organic 3d printing is so much more than just the ability to rapidly fabricate cloned hearts, nerves or any other organ.
