Kinktober Day 13: Size - Tutor!Miguel x AFAB!Reader 🎃
can you tell i hate my math class this sem ?? :D
CW: unspecified age gap (reader is in college miguel is in grad school), trauma inducing stats vocabulary, piv (unprotected don’t be stupid), creampie (don’t be stupid), mean miguel, harsh grabbing, fingering (kinda), finger sucking, general size difference.
18+ MDNI
It was getting late, you and your roommates Machi and Gale having dinner with you. You huffed, slumping in the chair you sat on.
“This is such bullshit, I’ve been stuck on this problem for like half an hour already. Nothing’s clicking.” You pushed your dinner aside and looked at Gale for reassurance. She tilted her head at you with a raised brow.
“Girl, you know damn well I’m not getting it either. Just call it quits for tonight, it's not due for another two days.” She said, sipping a chilled can of coke.
“Oh, come on. Neither of us are understanding this shit. I mean, this symbol looks like a backwards three! I miss when math used to just have numbers,” you complained, squinting at the statistics homework in front of you.
“That looks ridiculous,” Machi laughed. “Never have I been more glad to be an arts major.” She said, getting up to put her dish away.
“If it bothers you that much, why don’t you just visit the tutoring lab? I think they’re still open.” Gale said, grabbing your dish and following Machi to the sink.
“Really?” You asked, checking your watch. 8 pm.
“Hey, we pay thousands of dollars in tuition, okay? If they can’t stay open or help when students need it what's the point in taking all that money from us?” Gale shrugged. You sighed, standing up from your chair.
“Well, I guess I better get moving if I want to make it to the tutoring center before 10. Let me know if you guys need anything while I’m out.” You grabbed your keys and left the apartment after grabbing your bag and slipping your shoes back on.
_____________________________________________________
You arrived at the building, glass doors sliding open as you walked through them, the cold air conditioning giving you goosebumps. You walked over to the sign in sheet, looking through available tutors for the next hour or so.
“Crap…” You sighed, looking through the sheets. It seemed like you needed an appointment before hand, at least electronically.
There was the sound of laughter down the hall, you turned your head towards the sound. There was a much larger man along with a guy who seemed about your age. You recognized the shorter individual from your statistics class.
“Well, I’m glad we could get your problem figured out.” The tall man said, a big hand patting the younger guy's back heavily.
“Yeah, it only took us all night.” More laughter.
“Hey, if its due in two days all night is nothing.” The tall, tanned man said. He was massive, you could practically see his muscles bulging underneath his white buttoned shirt. His chocolate hair slicked back, a few strands messily framing his face. You were in a trance when his almost red eyes met yours. You felt your face flush.
“U-Uh, Hey! You’re in my statistics class arent you?” You asked the shorter guy, desperately avoiding the older mans gaze. The shorter guy said your name questioningly, you nodded.
“Yeah, thats me.” You said, clutching your bag tighter. “So… you got help with the homework?” You asked, motioning to the taller man.
“Oh yeah, this is Miguel.” He said, patting Miguels back.
“Hi, nice to meet you.” You said, grabbing his large hand and shaking it. You felt your palms become sweatier, his hand practically enveloping yours. “I didn’t see your name under the statistics sign up sheet.” You said, voice almost trembling.
“Well as a grad student my major is scientific research so that's why I’m not under statistics.” He said, a slight smirk across his face, his grip on your hand becoming tighter.
“O-oh,” you said softly.
“But I use statistics in almost everything I do, so I can help out with any problems you’ve got if you need it.”
“Miguel’s not a bad tutor, it only took us so long to finish cause I haven’t shown up to class in weeks.” Your classmate laughed. “I’ve got to get out of here but thanks for your help, man.” He waved before walking out the sliding doors into the dark night.
You and Miguel turned to each other, you suddenly felt very nervous.
“So… Would you… tutor me?” You asked, rubbing your arms for warmth.
“Well, it's not quite 10 yet and I don’t have any other sign-ups, so why not?” He shrugged, walking down the hall with you following after him.
You two walked down the hall, reaching a small study room at the end of it.
“This is the room I reserved for the night, so don’t worry about anyone coming in here super late and trying to steal it from us.” He said, opening it up for you to walk through.
You walked into the room, a table with a few chairs in the center with a whiteboard behind it. It seemed fine to you as you walked in, sitting down on a chair, slightly taken aback when it rolled underneath your weight. You looked down and noticed wheels at the feet of the chair. You looked up again when you heard the door shut, Miguel locking it behind him.
_______________________________________________
“And that's why your z score is going to be 20.99. Does that make sense?” He asked. You were fucked.
The whole time you were supposed to be paying attention you were completely distracted by his being. He sat next to you, his large frame practically caging you in between him and the desk. He was everywhere, and if you weren’t staring directly at the paper, you were scared you were going to faint. You nodded, eyes looking down at the problem, refusing to tear away from the mathematical mess you made.
“Yeah…”
“Then tell me how you got it.” He said, deep voice rumbling in his big chest.
“Well, first you uh…” You circled a random number in the world problem then looked up at him with helpless eyes. He raised a brow.
“You start with the standard deviation?” He asked, clearly unamused.
“Well… You definitely use it somewhere…” You said half joking. Miguel was still unamused. He sighed deeply, throwing his head into his hand.
“I’ll explain it one more time, okay?” He said, grabbing the pencil from your hand. His hand brushed against yours and held your pencil as if it were a toothpick to him. “So, we’ve identified the mew, right?” He asked, underlining the foreign symbol.
“Yeah…” You said, asking yourself what the fuck is a mew?
You were determined to stay focused but that man made it difficult. You turned to look at him while his eyes were fixed onto the paper, scribbling out equations and typing into your calculator- which he also made look puny in his grasp. You watched him as he spoke, the way his soft lips moved as he talked, revealing sharp canines every now and then between words. You felt your face flush, entranced by his presence. You eyed his large shoulders, following them down to his massive arms. You looked back up at his face, admiring his features while he was so deep in thought. He looked down at you.
“So now we just divide and… hey?” he said almost harshly. “Are you paying attention?” He asked in a snarky tone. You felt your face drop.
“I… um…”
“Distracted again?” He tossed the pencil onto the surface of the table, muscular arms crossing as he almost glared at you.
“I’m sorry.” You felt exhausted, covering your face with your hands in defeat. You felt like crying.
“Maybe if you weren’t so focused on undressing me with your eyes and more focused on these problems, you’d understand this shit by now.” He grunted. You stilled, face buried deep into your palms before you peered at him through between your fingertips.
“W…What?” You asked, looking at his almost red eyes.
“I said what I said.” Miguel's voice was low, he grabbed your seat and pulled it towards him, the wheels moving you with ease. You felt your core tighten, as your face continued to burn hot, regardless of the air conditioning.
Miguel's eyes practically violated you, staring deep past your own and into your soul before looking you up and down, clearly enjoying how you cowered.
“That pretty little head not used to thinking this hard?” he asked low in your ear. You shuddered, hairs on the back of your neck standing at attention. “Pathetic.”
He grabbed your waist with his large hands, daring to crush you between his palms. He slowly stood up from his chair, face inches away from yours. You took that as invitation enough and crashed your lips into his, those soft lips felt even better than you imagined, a whimper escaping your lips as his grip increased. He pulled you off of the chair and slammed you onto the table, papers flying and pens scattering around you. You let out a grunt as the air escaped your lungs from the impact.
“I’m taking time out of my night to try and teach you this shit and you can't even meet me halfway and try to learn it?” He huffs yanking down your frumpy sweats to your ankles. You kicked them off, laying on the table in your tight shirt and panties.
“I-I’m sorry, you're just so-” he cut you off with two thick fingers plunging into your mouth, you gagged when they hit the back of your throat. He smirked, watching you drag your tongue around the knuckles of his fingers.
“That ought to shut you up.” He ran a finger from his other hand to your clothed cunt, you moaned around his thick digits when he caressed your clit. Your hips moved on their own accord, grinding against his large hand. “Would you look at that? I didn’t know they accepted whores into this school.” Miguel hummed, voice smooth like honey and deep like an ocean.
His single finger moved to where your pussy and thigh met, yanking aside your black cotton panties to reveal your wet cunt, which clenched around nothing at the sudden cold air.
“Jesus… I bet you were thinking about this all night, huh?” Miguel teased, the calloused tip of his finger just barely grazing along your seeping hole, spreading the warm slick higher and higher up your folds until he could smear it along your sensitive bud, eliciting another moan from behind his drooly fingers.
“Needy, aren’t we?” Miguel withdrew his fingers from your mouth while his other hand unzipped his dress pants, the metal of his belt buckle clanking together as he pulled it out of its loops. The belt hit the floor with a small thud and with his drool-soaked fingers he freed his massive cock and ran the slippery fingers up and down his shaft.
Miguel tore your underwear off of you, as if it was like taking a sticker off a piece of fruit. You felt yourself drip down your thighs, unsure whether or not it was okay to touch yourself while watching this Greek god of a man pleasure himself with your spit, watching your tense cunt beg him to stuff it.
“Like what you see?” He asked, slipping his finger into his mouth and moaning long and deep when he tasted your sweet slick on his tongue. You nodded vigorously, grabbing one of your tits to entice him even further. “Why don’t you take that off while we’re ahead?”
You quickly tossed off your shirt and bra, completely naked on the desk. Miguel softly laughed, watching how nicely you obeyed him.
“You're too easy, y’know that?” With a few more pumps to his shaft, he harshly grabbed one of your thighs and spread your legs even further, admiring your wet pussy.
The moan you two let out when he put his cock inside of you could've been heard by the whole building if it hadn't been well past 10 pm and everyone had gone for the day. His girthy member dared to split you in half, the sheer size of him was far too much to handle, especially all at one. We watched with pleasure as your breathy moans turned into agonized whimpers the further he drove into you. When he had finally gone balls deep inside of you, there was an obvious cock bulge deep inside of you as he stretched out your pussy wonderfully.
“M-Miguel…” You sighed, a bead of sweat rolling down your temple.
“Oh, so this can keep your attention but me slaving away on your homework can’t?” He smugly asked, pulling out before slamming into you with a grunt. You wailed, scratching the hard surface of the desk underneath you, crumpling stray pieces of scratch paper into your palm while arching your back.
Miguel started at a rough pace, making room out of your tight pussy for his intimidating cock, juices slicking the shaft of his member, and sounds of your wet pussy gushing paired with the creaking of the table filled the room, moans, and mewls adding to euphonious music of your fucking.
“So fucking tight… so fucking tiny… I bet I could fold you like a pretzel,” He said amusingly, grabbing the backs of your thighs and pushing the fronts of them against your chest. You cried out loud, new depth being explored by his commanding dick while he used you for his pleasure.
With his massive hands, he spread his fingers out, his thumbs on the backs of your thighs and his four fingers on the small of your back, grabbing onto you so he could bring you up and down on his deep thrusts.
You were seeing stars at this point, scared your arousal would drip onto your homework papers and soil all the progress you’ve made. But it didn’t matter anymore when you threw your head back onto the table and shook in his hands, pussy clenching around his meaty cock and milking him for his own cum.
“Ngh- What did I say? Easy…” He moaned, thrusting inside of you a few more times before he shot a huge load inside of your tiny pussy, cum leaking out between where your sexes met and rolling down your asscheeks.
You lay there on the table, shaking like a leaf in the wind. Miguel watched entranced as your shared cum leaked out of you, finger fucking it back inside of you, wondering if it he could stuff it all back in. He quickly realized your overstimulated cunt couldn’t take it as tears welled in your eyes.
“Sorry,” He said, removing his fingers. “Now uh… where were we?” He picked up the page of work, then his face dropped, looking at the splotch of cum that had spilled out on accident.
“On second thoughts… you might want to turn this in online.”

Advanced Placement Credit Given to…

☾☼✧☽ summary: the ap classes these different characters would take
☾☼✧☽ type: headcannons, modern au
☾☼✧☽ warnings: n/a
☾☼✧☽ a/n: my ap classes are killing me-
▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢
✧ albedo
chemistry and art history
I think the chemistry part is obvious, as an alchemist he would find this kind of thing fascinating. Obviously he would enjoy the rigor and fast paced layout of the class. CB requires 16 labs to be done throughout the year in ap chem and he would adore this as well. Definitely thinking he’s pulling an A in this class, actually an A+
Albedo’s an artist and a curious individual. I imagine he would find himself interested in the history of art and the different pieces. As a chemist he is always chasing after whys and hows; it only makes sense for him to look for this in art as well. He would also pull a high A I feel in this class due to his commitment to his studies
✧ amber
human geography
Amber isn’t much of an academic, but she appreciates geography I imagine. As an outrider who is exploring and navigating, she would find the history of places and maps fascinating. Amber also, or at least I seem to think, would have a hard time taking an intense ap class. This one is one of the easiest out of the ones CB offers. I think Amber would get an A in this class and I am firm believer that she unfortunately is the one who reminds the teacher when homework is due :/
✧ diluc
macroeconomics, microeconomics, and statistics
Macroeconomics covers the economic of wider areas like regions and nations. Diluc being someone who has a business that is known worldwide would I feel find value in knowing about the economics of not only his country but others as well.
Microeconomics is more focused on the economics of an individual thing like companies. This is a class that would give the insight on the business side of economics.
Business requires a lot of data. Most of the time when analyzing data statistics is involved. Diluc would use statistics I feel to see what kinds of wine tend to sell on what regions and what happens when prices increase and decrease.
Diluc I see passing all of these classes, I think the economic ones with an A and stats with a high B.
✧ jean
comparative government and politics and psychology
Government and politics I feel is self explanatory because of how Jean pretty much runs Mondstadt. She has to contact diplomats from all nations and make negotiations. I think she would also find it kind of interesting about different types of government and how things are ran.
Jean would have to on some level be a people person. To some degree she would have to know how people think and feel. She would find the makeup of the human brain fascinating I think.
Jean is not letting herself get anything less than an A, let’s be real-
✧ lisa
english language and composition, english literature and composition, and latin (or teyvat’s equivalent, maybe Khaenri’ah’s language..)
Tumblr deleted Lisa’s part like 3 TIMES kill me :/. Anyways, I think the language composition and literature composition are obvious. I mean…..she’s a librarian.
The language thing I feel would stem from her wanting to be able to read more books. Therefor she wanted to learn a new language to broaden her selection of books
She wanted to take ap chem but decide to just do general instead. I definitely think Lisa could get an A in all three classes. I just think she gets distracted easily and would need someone to help her focus.
✧ sucrose
chemistry, biology, and computer science a
Obviously she would take chem with Albedo. I think it would take her a bit longer to grasp some of the concepts and Albedo might have to help her out some but she does overall well in the class, I say an A-
She flies through biology without a problem due to her interest in life forms. Is definitely earning an A+
OKAY HEAR ME OUT! So Sucrose wants to study how to manipulate life to make it better and brighter. I think she would be all over the idea of being a bioengineer. Thus, she would learn how to code.
Sucrose would do well in the comp sci a course I believe. I could see her being a really good problem solver and understanding Java well (the programming language you learn in comp sci a)
✧ venti
music theory
Don’t come for my throat, I love Venti I swear. However, I do not think he would preform well in this class. Music theory isn’t really so much about composing music as it is about the rules of composing music. I think Venti would do wonderfully with dictation (where you hear notes/chords and have to identify and write them). As well as sight singing (where you are given a sheet of music and have a certain amount of time to practice and sing it).
We all know Venti is great at composing music…but he doesn’t really like playing by the rules (aka all the figured bass line shit), so I don’t think he’d do so good. Venti can read sheet music sure but he didn’t take the time to memorize all the special symbols when he just knows music.
I’m going to be generous and give him a C considering he can do the dictation and sight singing. Anything where he’s having to analyze and determine cadences or other conceptual stuff he’s kind of screwed
▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢
kaeya does not take any ap classes however he relentlessly bothers albedo while he is trying to study. Also totally tries to convince lisa at least once to bail on writing a paper and come to some party or whatever.
▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢▢
thank you so much for reading !
stay hydrated and safe !

ok so I'm obvs happy that you are, but what you said abt not writing was kinda sad. Tamsyn Muir isnt as well know as Colleen hoover, it doesnt mean that she didn't find her people, or that she is less talented, or that her ideas aren't inspiring. and yeah if Colleen hoover readers picked up a Tamsyn Muir book they would probably dnf it so what? who needs them anyway? this doesnt say anything about how much the right people aren't going to love Tamsyn's words or that she should give up on writing
This is ABSOLUTELY true, and thank you for saying it. People should write what's in their heart and put it out there if they want to. There are so, so many examples of people doing their own unique thing and finding success with it.
And I want to say with my whole chest that my need to step back from writing has nothing to do with feeling like my readership or stats were "not enough" in some way. Nothing could be further from the truth. My whole life I've wanted to be a cult classic, and I am! It's been the honor of my creative life.
My considerations are solely around the economics of publishing and what would be sustainable for me personally as a working parent. Writing is extremely time consuming for me. I'm slow! It's an unfortunate fact. I also like to choose projects that require a lot of research. When I'm actively drafting, parts of my life that matter a lot to me are sidelined. And without going into gorey detail about traditional publishing, the likelihood I would ever be able to replace any part of my day job with writing is vanishingly small. Tamsyn's a genius and has earned every glorious genius dollar that comes her way. I'm a voicey writer with ideas like: Jane Eyre x Gosford Park but what if there was magic and communists and a love triangle that was resolved with polyamory? 🧐 Potion-induced bodice ripping in the Victorian magic lab! Actually i should write that.
Anyway, it all circles right back round to being a hobby. I have a job that my household relies on and kids who need help with their homework. If I can figure out how to keep the Victorian bodice ripping in a sensible compartment, I'll come back to it. But until that day! If I get good enough at pottery, I may be able to sell enough at the ceramics sale to pay for the class 😎

Hey! I’m gonna be a physics major next year, and I was wondering if the Mac and iPad combo have worked well for you, or if there’s something else you recommend tech wise?
short answer: yes.
but, im gonna use this has an opportunity to yap about my current study set up. this goes without saying, but what worked for me may not work for you, and my set up evolved over the years as i found what was best for me.
i use an iPad for lecture notes and homework. i think its the most organized you can get them to be without straight up LaTeXing the shit out of them (and i know people who do exactly that, more power to them)
i just write faster than i type, and an ipad allows me to copy paste equations and add photos and stuff which is helpful for diagrams. i use goodnotes 5, and i will sing its praises till the end of time.
i think it pays to develop a clear style for your homework and lecture notes, bc your work will be easier to navigate. here's an example of my lecture notes and my homework.

[hehe general relativity moment]
HOWEVER, you will mostly be having paper exams as a physics student so i recommend you don't get too reliant on your iPad. i tend to do all my studying in notebooks, or loose sheets that i can refer to. practice problems are always on paper.
[stat mech studying i did last week]
i started using legal pads for this from the end of junior year bc they're so convenient! im also incentivized by the stock our dept keeps in the mail room.
i have to do a lot of calculations for research and i prefer to do them on paper or a blackboard if it's something im reasoning out. idk it's so much easier to be stupid on paper than on goodnotes. ofc my research log is kept digitally, but i keep a binder with all my old calculations (both correct, and incorrect) along with my main reference papers.
[i was flipping through this just now and realised how much bs is in it.]
LaTeX is a good skill to have which i didn't realise until too late. if you have to write any paper that's remotely scientific, LaTeX is the way to go. none of that google docs bs.
i use both vscode and Overleaf for editing. i mainly just LaTeX my finalized research calculations into one big doc. it's much easier to show my advisor. also it looks cool.
i got a monitor when my laptop screen broke sophomore spring (something inside me broke as well that semester it was so fun). and if you have the option, i would totally recommend getting one. it's useful having a second/bigger screen.

i use mine for a bunch of things: coding, reading textbooks, genshin impact, Netflix, grading.
on the topic of textbooks, i use digital bc im cheap. but i do buy secondhand physical copies that i rarely reference, but keep around bc it doesn't hurt to start your hypothetical professor office bookshelf early. i only buy the ones i actually respect, like Peskin's Intro to QFT. but the digital copies are usually much handier. i keep an extensive digital collection of books and papers i might never need.
don't be like me keep your digital library more organized!
and yeah circling back to electronics! i use a Macbook Pro rn which has served me well. i guess things are different if you need to run solidworks or other specialized software, but you can always use the lab computers, so that was never a problem. i have an apple ecosystem bc im a slut for capitalism.. i mean i was already halfway there and now im just really used to it, so i like all my devices being friends with each other. my tip is always get more RAM than you thought you needed, and double the storage. but maybe that's bc im mean to my laptop and love hoarding files.
i also keep all my previous notes and printouts so may be i have an academic hoarding problem in general.
in the end, a mix of old school and new age technology bs works best for me!
thank you for your question! i hope this helps :)

☔ Sept 29, 2023
I didn't think I'd be doing homework tonight but oh well. it rained on an off today so there were no crunchy leaves to walk on.
weekend to do: -question 3 of stats lab and group meeting -study for bio quiz -write methods + results sections for lab report -summarize psych notes -read appendix B in Robinson Crusoe
but I'm very happy because John Wick 4 is out on streaming today so I can finally rewatch it with my bf tonight :)

my only major concern rn is this physics homework because i finished q1 and q2 but q3 looks SCARY as fuck and i havent started q4 yet. it's due at 7 pm tomorrow (horrible that its not due at midnight but whatever) i think i can finish it on time and get full marks despite having been sick for literally since classes started 2 weeks ago. new problem is definitely my differential equations course and now calculus 3 course both with an assignment due on the 22nd. (stats also had an assignment due on the 22nd but that shit was insane sicko easy mode so that was finished last week) gonna try to get the DE coursework done this weekend so i can focus on the calc stuff over the next week and download the stuff i'll need for my stats lab next week

4.3.25 study plan stats: 1 hour. review previous homeworks for practice problems and do flashcards on quizlet. chem: 2 hours. Read textbook and take notes to review concepts, review over quizlet, do practice problems. ecology: 1.5 hours. quizlet and writing down concepts to make sure I understand them. Upcoming events: 4.4.25: chemistry lab practical at 2:20 pm 4.9.25: chemistry exam at 4:10 pm Reducing my study time goal just a bit because I'm having a friend over for a movie night. I'm going to be stupidly busy this weekend, so I'm trying to stay realistic while making sure I'm preparing myself for what I need to. Also, I got a B on my stats exam! I'm so happy lol. Just gotta make sure I do decent on my lab practical tomorrow. Wish me luck!

March 10, 2025
Gave a random suggestion in class today (the one I like the least at the moment (though today was fine)) for a small wet-lab protocol improvement and a world-renowned scientist said it was a decent idea and that he'd look into it for his lab. poggies.
There is something really nostalgic about having a conversation with someone or a small group of people over email for me. It was my first instant messaging experience when I was in elementary school, me and my best friends then. Just had a little glimpse of that just now, organizing a homework review for my stats class.
Today I'm thankful that no one in our group was ready to review the homework tonight because even though I know I'm cutting it close on my assignments this week (three! due! in! a! row!!), I'm also a really sleepy girl rn. Just want to play Sky for a bit. I'll shower then do a bit more for stats then play Sky then beddie-bye.
I think I'll book the serger for sometime next week. I'll work on patterning and cutting after my stats final, maybe on Tuesday.

New Binary
Scene: A basement lab at South Park Elementary where a group of scientists, who look suspiciously like college students, are gathered around a computer. Cartman, Kyle, Stan, and Kenny are also there, drawn into the conversation.
Cartman: Okay, listen up, buttheads. These science dorks say they've figured out the future with their nerd numbers or whatever.
Kyle: They're called statistics, Cartman. And it's not future-telling; it's analysis.
Scientist 1 (looking like a typical nerd): Precisely! We’re developing a new binary code term. You see, stats are numbers…
Stan: And numbers are nerds, right?
Scientist 2 (adjusting his glasses): Well, if you follow the transitive property, yes. Nerds are often associated with numbers.
Kenny: (Muffled) Mmmph mmm mmmph!
Cartman: Kenny says nerds are losers. And he's right! Losers like you, with your pocket protectors and your… what's that smell? Did you bring your lunch in a Petri dish?
Scientist 1: (Ignoring Cartman) But here’s where it gets interesting. Losers, in the societal context, are often seen as outcasts or undervalued.
Kyle: Yeah, like how everyone treats Butters?
Butters (who somehow just appeared): Hey fellas, they said I could earn extra credit if I helped out here!
Scientist 3 (a bit more laid back): Exactly, Kyle! And historically, the undervalued, the wicked or rebellious, they sometimes change the world. Look at the pirates, or hackers in the early internet days.
Stan: So you're saying the wicked shall inherit the earth because they understand binary or something?
Scientist 2: In a metaphorical sense, yes. They adapt, they innovate out of necessity. Now, we're trying to encode this philosophy into binary. Instead of 0s and 1s, we're thinking "dude" for 0 and "bro" for 1.
Cartman: That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You can’t just replace numbers with 'dude' and 'bro'. What's next, 'meh' for 2?
Scientist 1: (Excitedly typing) Actually, that could work for a ternary system…
Kyle: (To Stan) Do you think they actually know what they're doing?
Stan: I think they’re just making it up as they go. Like Cartman when he tries to avoid homework.
Cartman: Hey, I'll have you know, my methods are foolproof. It's the educational system that's flawed!
Butters: Well, golly, if being a loser means I get to inherit something, maybe I should start learning this binary stuff.
Scientist 3: There you go! Embracing your inner 'loser' could be the key to innovation. In our code, 'dude' represents the status quo, and 'bro' challenges it.
Kenny: (Muffled) Mmmph bro mmmph!
Everyone: (Laughs)
Kyle: So, in your nerd world, Ken's a revolutionary?
Scientist 1: In a manner of speaking, yes. He challenges norms just by existing.
Cartman: This is all too dumb for me. I'm out. You can keep your nerd revolution.
Stan: I dunno, there could be something to this. Like, if 'dude' and 'bro' catch on, maybe we'll see programming languages based on slang.
Kyle: Only in South Park would that sound like a good idea.
Butters: I'll start working on a 'Losers' Code' dictionary then. Maybe there's a future in this for me!
The scientists nod approvingly as they continue their work, with the boys leaving the basement, debating the merits of slang in programming, and Cartman grumbling about the stupidity of it all.

so my stats class randomly made the due date for this week's lab 2 days shorter (so we would have had to complete it the day we started it in person instead of having till Friday to finish) and I didn't know so that's fucked. I already missed one of the homework assignments for last week bc I worked a different day than usual and it threw my schedule off, so this is great *sigh*

today was not great
woke up, felt awful (severe nausea), tried to relax and feel less nauseous, ended up waking up 15 minutes late for class still nauseous, so I went to the wellness center and was told that it might be noro (except my only symptom is nausea and I've been having off and on mild nausea for a few days) so I went back to my room and drank water - even felt ok enough to walk to the store and bought ginger ale and licorice tea (because they settle my stomach) and ended up going to lab because it's hard to skip and I didn't want to let my partner flounder. found out an acquaintance got engaged to his girlfriend, finished lab, then let myself chill (didn't do yoga with M because I wasn't feeling great), did my stats homework with C and Sy, found out that the same acquaintance from earlier is 28 and his fiancee is 20 and they've been dating for 2 years... and then slept.

A while ago I ran V5e for my group to introduce them to it, and we had a lot of fun! I don't have a lot of advice for long-term campaigns but I did find some things that worked for me.
In my experience the most effective way to introduce players to a new game is to lower the barrier to entry as much as possible, so rather than assigning them the homework of going to read the rulebook and make characters I provided them with some pregens and we learned as we went. For subsequent sessions of a game I'll make them at least skim the rules, but for a first session it's fine.
For the pregens, I didn't make the whole character. I picked a few character concepts and then filled in the stats and powers in a way that felt mostly appropriate to that concept, things like "delinquent biker" or "depressed med student" or "urbex photographer" or whatever.
I don't hear a lot of discussion of the VtM relationship map, but I found it really useful! When we started, I had the players name their characters and then put their names down on a big whiteboard, and then map out their connections. The book has guidance about how many positive and negative connections they should have with the other player characters, and additionally they need a connection to at least one human. I don't recall all the specifications, but it worked really well. It was a super fast and fun way to create a group dynamic and establish some of their character motivations.
I ran that game as a very low level sandbox, where they'd all been bitten a few days before and hadn't fully figured out what happened, but were starting to get hungry and beginning to put the pieces together. They went out to steal blood from a university lab and things went to shit pretty fast, it was great. The hunger dice worked great to drive the shenanigans of a situation like that.
One of the main things I liked about Vampire was the very simple conflict set up by the premise of the game. The players are vampires, and they need to drink blood, so until they figure out some stable solution they effectively have to go out and kill someone every night. Maybe multiple people if the group is larger or they have more hunger.
That's entertaining on its own, but its also amazing for inciting conflicts between the players and other factions (both human and vampire). Pretty soon they're on the run from the police, they're intruding on the territory of other vampires, or they're attracting the attention of vampire hunters who know how to spot the difference between a grisly murder and a fledgling's first feeding.
It also helps to know the area. Either set it in your own home city, or make up a city and make a simple map of the key areas (downtown, suburbs, major transit lines, etc), or set it in a city that you know pretty well.
So that's my advice. Once you get things rolling, sit back and let the relationship map and the natural tension of their hunger drive the game. Then you can step in as needed when the world reacts. I've heard V5e is less optimal for running highly political games about vampire factions and their machinations, but your mileage may vary.
Also yes goth music. Essential.
Hello! I'm planning on getting together some of my friends who mostly play d&d5e for a Vampire chronicle. Planning on doing it with v5 as its the one I'm most familiar with, and I think its smaller scale might be less daunting for WoD newbies.
Only problem is, I worry that I just won't be a good Storyteller! I'm not a very good talker, and I'm worried my idea on how a game ought to be (big fan of more emergent game play, reading eureka kinda flipped a switch in my brain) will clash with their ways of playing d&d.
Pretty sure you're more into v20 than v5, but do you have any advice for running some good ole VTM?
So like, my advice for running Vampire is to put on the soundtrack for the 1994 film The Crow starring the late Brandon Lee and just soak in the gothic punk melodrama. Your narration doesn't need to be the best when you've got The Cure's absolute banger "Burn" playing in the background accentuating your narration and it will also really help everyone get in the mood. Also goth music just fucking rules in general.
I don't actually have a lot of practical experience running Vampire but like that's basically how I picture the perfect experience of running it. Don't worry too much and if you feel you stumble over words as a storyteller remember that it's okay to borrow from these more indie'd RPGs and just pass some of the narrative agency over to the other players. There doesn't have to be a stark division between "players only control their character, Storyteller controls everything else," when it comes to narrating their cool Brujah guy walking into the vampire club all Presence'd up the player should be allowed to chew the scenery and allowed to take a bit more narrative control into their hands.
Also here's that cool song
