Hi, long time viewer very bew poster here. so im starting a whump blog. But im kinda new to the whole consept. What do one post? How does this work? Who what when which whaaaaa? How do one reach the comunity and whats the rules?

Hi there!!! Oh that's very exciting!! Congrats! It's a lot of fun having ones own whump blog. Very freeing to be able to go batshit crazy about whump in the safety of your blog.

Okay so you're questions:

First of all, you can post about whatever you want!! it really is as simple as that! Whatever kind of whump you enjoy, post about it! You can blog writing scenarios, stories and fanfics, gifsets, and tropes that you've seen and enjoyed. You can create your own writing, gifsets, edits, video clips, etc or you can reblog things others have made. You can just ramble incoherently about your favorite characters you like to whump or your favorite tv or movies scenes that give you whumperflies or what tropes you love or tropes you'd like to see more of. You can share things you like but maybe don't see in the community. Maybe you love this one scene but nobody talks about it. Tell us about it! The world of whump is wide open.

We don't have steadfast rules here imo but we do have a few things to keep in mind:

When you post make sure you tag properly. Tagging is an incredibly important aspect of being a part of this community because we blog about a lot of potentially triggering things. So it's important to tag properly so that those who are triggered are are uncomfortable about certain topics can block those tags and stay safe. Tag for things like noncon, blood, flashing gifs, box boy, gore, rape, etc. When in doubt, tag it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Tagging also helps people find your content as well. For example if you make gifs, use the #whumpedit tag so people who like whump gifs and easily find you. Use the #whump tag for anything pertaining to whump.

Be kind!! There is going to be something you see that you disagree with or are uncomfortable with. That is inevitable in this community. Whump is a vary wide genre and we all like and dislike very different things. So if you see something you don't like, just keep scrolling. Block blogs if you have to, no one will be upset. Keep yourself safe by blocking tags you don't like. Just be kind and remember the age ole internet addage of Your Kink Is Not My Kink and That's Okay.

Be respectful. Not just to your fellow members of the community, but of the things you blog about. There are tropes that need to be handled with care and respect. It never hurts to do some research if you plan on writing to learn about how people who actually deal with said trope feel.

cacophony/cataclysm Vega consept(?)

So there is this kinda concept/fanfic idea (although I don’t think it has enough substance for me to write a fic about it, even if it did, I don’t think I have the energy to write like a 35 chapter fic) not really an AU, and not really a theory just jumbled “what if”s, so I decided to share it here

Warning, this might seem a little juvenile and self-indulgent since it’s basically a sad backstory for the brutish villain but just so you know, I am well aware that this very sad boy backstory doesn’t excuse his wrong doings.

And also, I ramble a lot, so this will be long

This story I've cooked up in my head is all based of this mini theory i have that Vega is as old as the cacophony (the war between the Sovereigns and the humans and deamons) which would make him like hundreds of years old. This theory of mine doesn’t have much backing it up besides it would be good writing for his character because of his line “you want to know how time and circumstance might lead someone here.” (and I’ll talk about that later)

Idk, the reason why he's like 120% sure that the Sovereigns are real and why he knows so much information about them despite the story being majorly seen by de(a)mons as just a myth/folklore might be because he was actually there, but again that might just be like saying every crazy Christian is actually Jesus Christ in secret so idk

I mean his age is never specified in the timeline and the only reason something might not be on the timeline is because a) It’s not important enough or b) Erik is hiding it for future events and I don’t think Vega is an unimportant character

But then again maybe this is just a safe assumption and I’m just stupid or maybe this is a purely out of the blue theory with dogwater evidence and in that case I’m still stupid

But this is where theory ends and my daydreaming a story into existing begins.

In my mind, the cacophony happens in ancient Rome

Ancient because, It obviously didn’t happen in the close past since it’s regarded as myth and Vega while talking to Warden about it calls the humans “ancient humans” and the Rome part? Well... this is more of me throwing a pin dart at a board

I first thought it was ancient Greece since that’s where myths of deamons originated (in this world they would be based on the de(a)mons we know and not just folktale) but now I decided It’s ancient Rome because I have a theory that the de(a)mon language that Avior talks about in his story is actually Latin because most if not all de(a)mon names we have seen are Latin, so I guess in this world humans learned the language from de(a)mons? (also in the imp AU the first ever king of the imperium is named “Emil” which is a Latin name and we know that the imperium was formed some time after the cacophony) and I know that a lot of other countries spoke Latin at that time but whatever

But again, this is just me taking a stab in the dark, I could be completely wrong

So in my concept, Vega is born out of the elision well right as the conflict is starting. The Sovereigns have all gone to Elegy and now deamons are stuck in Aria without any source of energy. Vega manages to create a rift of his own and travels to Elegy (not saying that he’s the first deamon to make a rift to Elegy, just that he figured out how to do it himself, if that’s even possible).

When he first entered Elegy, he was hit with major sensory overload from experiencing new colors and shapes and hearing and smell and touch an all of that. But after he recovers, he goes exploring of this new plane of existence. Soon after, he sees a human being tortured by a Sovereign who’s experimenting on them, trying to give them powers. Now, in this point in time, Vega is not the human-hating unfeeling person that we know him as now. Then, I imagine he had you know, this thing called empathy (but I don’t want to completely scrap his personality, so imagine him how he was in the imp AU, just still, less sadistic).

He might have been on this plane for like 5 minutes but he can clearly sense the emotions of agony from the human

He goes in to defend the human, and while the Sovereign could have easily smushed him then and there, they didn’t, and instead just left since their work was done.

This human is in my mind, kinda like a fellow listener (since I don’t have the balls to call them an oc), so I will refer to them as listener.

When listener awakes, Vega is still with them and even though first they’re scared and confused, they quickly realized that the creature before them meant no harm (and this was ancient times so a demon isn’t as an outlandish concept as it was back then).

At first, it’s difficult for them to communicate since they don’t speak the same language and Vega is communicating trough telepathy and doesn’t even know how to make a sound with his vocal cords.

(and also the listener has powers now and I didn’t decide what kind)

But soon enough, they learn to speak each other's language and Vega starts living along side humans with the other deamons. The humans are reasonably afraid of them at first, but quickly start cherishing them as powerful beings they could lean on (similarly to how they were portrayed in ancient Greek mythology).

As the humans and the deamons plan their rebellion against the Sovereigns, Vega and the listener get closer and eventually fall in love, aww, how cute

But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, since the war comes, and the listener needs to join and use their new found magical powers.

Sadly, they end up dying in the war by the hands of a Sovereign, and Vega lives. After the war is over he is distraught, but life goes on and he continues living.

Through the years Vega sees it all. He sees the slow shift between humans and de(a)mons being allies, to the humans hatred towards de(a)mons (probably because the rise of Christianity where deamons go from being seen as basically any magical entity to evil helpers of Satan). He sees the people he risked his life to protect slowly turn against him for reasons he doesn’t know. Now because of the new title of “sadism demon” humans and fellow de(a)mons judge him. And at one point he stops caring. He stops caring about being seen as evil and he stops caring about humans. All of them seem to wish him ill and any potential ones that don’t will die some day.

He now probably can’t even remember the voice or the face of the human he loved, he probably forgot they even existed.

And that’s how Vega became Vega

Really a “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself turn into the villain” situation.

You could also make the scenario that he is intrigued by Warden since they remind him of the human deep down, Stranger to Lovely reincarnation and all that jazz, and I’m sure that Brachium could fit in the story too since we know that he is also as old as the cacophony (maybe he’s the steward that relayed the situation to Vega, idk!) 

Also i imagine that in the imp! au the same thing happened just the listener didn’t die in the war, but they still had to part ways since the de(a)mons made the decision to just chill in Aria and never speak to the humans again. Which is also why he was a lot nicer to humans in the AU, since he wasn’t there to see all the bad shit they’ve done.

But this is defiantly just some brain vomit that I came up, but that being said if you like this story or have any ideas of your own let me know! I’d love to hear it

Humans are space orcs: Eating

Imagine earth is this place where its creatures CONSUME each other to survive and all life on other planets just photosynthesise or something.

So these aliens are horrified that this new human species on bored the ship have to devower other living or once living organisms to sustain themselves. And they have these sharp bits in their mouth evolved to cut and chew and breakdown matter into usable resources.

The consept of food has always been just pure energy or sunlight or whatever. So this is repulsive.

They find to their horror that almost all the creatures on earth also do this. But they gain a sense of begrudging understanding when they do find out.

📝 What is a DNI? 📝

Hey babies! Many regressors and dreamers have a DNI (myself included!) For people who are new to the community it may be confusing. This post is a small little crash course in what a DNI is and what it means!

What does DNI stand for?

DNI stands for Do Not Interact! It means that if you fit a description that someone has in their DNI then you should not interact with their acount! Interaction is anything from liking, reposting, commenting, following, or DMing the person! 

ex. If Someone has “DNI people 18 and older” then you should not interact with any aspect of their account if you are age 18 or older

Why do people have DNIs?

People can have a DNI for many reasons! When it comes to regression most people have a DNI to keep them safe! Regression is a coping mechanism and when someone is regressed they are often emotionally vulnerable, this means they may be triggered, frightened, or made uncomfortable very easily. Because of this, they will create a DNI to limit the chances of them being triggered or hurt while regressed!

Many regressors also have some form of trauma or mental illness, so they create a DNI to protect themselves from things that remind them of their trauma or trigger their mental illness!

And some people have a DNI for no other reason then it is their account and they can do with it what they please! A person’s account is their own personal safe space and they have full and final say about who they do and do not want interacting with them!

What should I do if I think I violate someones DNI?

You should unfollow them!! Accidents happen, sometimes we may forget to look at a DNI or may misread what is written, but as soon as you realise your mistake you should take the proper steps to correct the situation! If you’re not sure if you violate someone’s DNI you should ask them. Many people are happy to explain their DNI and let you know if you can or cannot follow! 

If there is a popular account that comes across your dash often (whether through explore or reposts) who’s DNI you violate, you may consider blocking them so that you don’t accidentally violate their DNI!

What if I really like an account, but I violate their DNI? 

Tough luck! You still need to unfollow them. Their comfort and safety comes before your leisure enjoyment.

What if I don’t agree with their DNI?

Oh well!! You don’t know this person better than they know themself! They know better than anyone what does and does not make them uncomfortable. If you disagree with someone’s DNI but do not violate your DNI, then consider unfollowing instead of starting an argument! There is no reason for you to start conflict with someone over their DNI.

Why do so many Regressors and Dreamers have a DNI against NSFW and Kink accounts?

Agere and Agedre are NOT sexual!! Even if you do not sexualise their content, they may feel sexualised. Many regressors/dreamers also have sexual based trauma, so seeing kink (especially ddlg) may trigger them into a flashback, anxiety attack, depressive episode, or something else. Some people are also just uncomfy with NSFW things! Not to mention that regressors are very often in the headspace of an actual child, so they do not want to be exposed to NSFW consepts while in that state. (Just like you would not expose an actual child to NSFW stuff) 

What should I do if someone violates my DNI?

Thats up to you! You have total control over this situation. You can block them if you like, you can discreetly remove them from your followers, you can ask them to unfollow you, there are lots of things you can do! Your account is your safe space and you should take whatever steps you feel necessary to keep your account safe! Don’t feel bad for keeping yourself safe.

Do I really have to follow someone’s DNI? What if they can’t tell that I violate their DNI?

YES. You should ALWAYS follow someone’s DNI, even if they can’t tell that you violate it. 

ex. If someone has “DNI men over 20″, and you are a man over 20, but they wouldn’t be able to tell that by looking at your account, you still need to respect and follow their DNI!!

Over all, there is one sentence that can sum up why you should always respect peoples DNI:

Respecting someone’s DNI is a great way to show that you care about other people. 

By listening to and respecting someone’s DNI you are saying that you care about other people and their personal wellbeing! ALWAYS follow other people’s DNI. (And remember, when in doubt, ASK!! It’s better to ask than to potentially put someone at risk)

Headcanons on Zuko being Iroh's son?

I actually have two AUs going where Zuko is Iroh's son, one where he is Lu Ten's younger brother, and one where Lu Ten is Ozai and Ursa's son, and Zuko and Azula are Iroh's. So instead of continuing one of those, I want to talk a little about the thematic implications and things I don't like about some of the versions of this consept I have seen.

Thematically it's really important that Zuko has a terrible father, and that he makes the choice to reject him and do the right thing. It's not in his blood, and he isn't ruled by the way he was raised. His destiny is not predetermined, and he gets to make his own choices. The children of bad people can choose to be good, and to do the right thing.

With a show as thematically rich as Avatar: the Last Airbender, there is always a tension when I construct an AU, between exploring how the new plot and character points affect the characters and world, and the knowledge that the reason plot and character arcs in the show happened the way they did was because the writers wrote them that way to convey certain themes.

It was pretty common once upon a time to run across fics in which Zuko was Iroh and Ursa's secret lovechild. Aside from whatever this does to Iroh and Ursa's characters, I hate this premise for what it does to Zuko's character thematically. It makes the good child secretly the child of good parents, and tells us that this is why he is good. It takes the show's message about choices and smashes it into pieces. It also reveals the fic writer's biases and beliefs about that same message, whether the fic writer realizes it or not.

So in spite of the fact that I stomp all over the canon plot in my AUs at every turn, I also acknowledge that the show as is conveys important messages. I make AUs because I enjoy it, not to "fix" canon. And the Zuko as Iroh and Ursa's lovechild premise always felt a lot like an attempt to fix something that wasn't broken.

Hatching Angels AU

I have this overly complicated AU for Good Omens in which 'Angels', to get their eathly bodies, need to be implanted first into yet to be born child. They will be born and grow up as a human, without remembering of the 'Angelic' part, untill their wings will tear through. At that point the 'Angel' will take over the body. And it is painful as wigs literally break through their back. With them, they will remember their origin and all possible time they had before loss of previous body. After they assend to the whatever cloud their domain is, leaving behind all build up human life and relationships behind.

'Demons' on the other hand, there is no such a consept. They are just angels who managed upset the 'God' and got their wigs literally burned to the state they can't fly. They still have wings and can remember their 'Angelic' origin, but are left to roam the earth till they lose their earthly body. When that happen, no 'Angel' will pick their 'soul' to plant it anew as their name will be forgotten. And since many find it had to adjust being back among the humans, not many fallen ones survive for long.

So I kinda want to write a story in which (insert some higher angel's/Archangel's name here) aka Crawly is one of the very first 'Angels' and Aziraphale is in comparisson younger that appears only around the time Earth came to be. Their purpose was to push humans to evolve and keep life on Earth interesting for 'God'.

However things happens and Crawly falls.

For last 600 years he has been roaming Earth as Anthony J. Crowley and has come to terms with his fall. Accosianally even getting visits form higher rank colleges, but hears nothing about Aziraphale. The name always awakens longing, grief and anger in him but he prefers to believe that he is not clinging to memories of his 'companion'.

But one day when Crowley is once again moving to new spot, in London this time, to escape suspicions from humans, he comes across a bookshop keeper. It wouldn't have been any special, if not for a 'soul' of Aziraphale that is sleeping withing him, waiting to 'spread the wings'.

So it would be pretty much a story of Crowley struggling with his feeling towards Aziraphale, trying to not fall all over again. Meanwhile Zira can't understand the pull of interest he has towards this new man in the neighborhood, and is more than willing to get to know him. And ofc all the mess that happened before that.

Funny observations about GMM

I just woke up, and, for some reason, watched an old episode of GMM. I realized that though I do enjoy the old episodes, I prefer their current vibe more. It's kind of funny, because many fans seem to think that the old stuff is superior or that the more scripted episodes are somehow less entertaining. I just have to disagree. I do enjoy the non-scripted content, and I personally love the new whatever wednesday consept, because it's s more casual setting, but the thing that makes me love the new stuff over the old stuff is the chemistry between R&L. Not the shippy rhinky chemistry (at least not just that), but the overall way they interact with each other and also with us fans through the camera. In the old episodes there is this slight uncomfortableness (I don't think that's a word) about them. They are far too aware of the camera and though there is no script, they very much control their words before speaking. Nowadays, they are way more relaxed while talking, and there are so many hilarious moments generated by the fact they are so comfortable with themselves and each other. They are less restrictive about themselves, more open, and just more free all together. I'm not saying that the old episodes are worse, there are some true gems amongst them, but honestly, I love their evolution to what they are today. Now that I've said this, I'd really enjoy hearing the thoughts of all the other Mythical Beasts on this subjects - I'm sure there are some :)

Crazed D&D Ramblings 1 - Creation

Think of the two most fundamental building blocks of nature. And when I mean fundamental, I mean absolutely fundamental. Not space, not energy, nor the strings that make up the rest of the things in between. No. The two most fundamental ideas are that of Everything and Nothing. It's best to think of these two demi-planes as two bowls. In one bowl, the Nothing. Literally nothing. Empty, vast, infinite, waiting to be filled. In the other, Everything. Literally every idea that ever has been, is and will be. The ideas that never came to be. The Ideas that never belonged. Even the idea of Nothing, the very consept of emptiness, contained within the Everything. Possiblity and Potential. One day, eternaty, and instaint, the Everything filled the Nothing. This compact infinity suddenly found a space to seperate, and it rushed out like a great waterfall (Or, outside of the bowl metaphore, you could say that this compact everything suddenly "boomed" into a vast, infinite space.) All ideas poured out into the newly created universe. Those with shape, form, logic, and understandability, tended to drift 'west'. Those without true form, without an idea to hold them together, raw, and limitless drifted 'east'. Some things mixed, not entirely seperated (We'll go more in-depth into that later). the 'west' world became known as the "Law" plane, and the 'East' became known as the "Chaos" plane. Some scholars and artists have refered to them by the names given to them by their inhabitants; The Astral Sea and the Elemental Chaos. The Astral Sea and all of the ideas that flowed out of it winded out like a river in the cosmos, dispensing stardust and stone into space. The dust collected, heated by preasure and speed, and became the Stars. Stones collected into many planets, moons, and collections of asteroids. And slowly, as these things came to being and the mindless but lawful universe was coming to shape, an idea flowed through the world. Late to this budding universe, it found home with the stars and energies and colieded with them, forming something spectacular. This idea's name was "Inteligence". It coilided with stone, fire, space, gravity, every lawful thing, and it slowly created Gods of these energies. Gods of the Suns, born with an inate understanding of their domains. And they florished, sharing these ideas, combining them, and reveling in their power. The Elemental Chaos and all of the ideas within it spread like an uneven fire, pouring out wherever it may chose. Yes, some logics and familiarities are found within, the most common that we can identify are the Four States of Matter (And their subsiquent traditional Elements); Plasma and Fire, Gas and Air, Liquids and Water, Earth and Solids. But while these are the most understandable and identifiable, we know even today how difficult it is to understand their exact formation and structure. Most of the energies in the elemental chaos had no form or even pressance, yet they changed violently into things with massive forms and an inescapable pressance that consumes everything it touches, sometimes even changing what it touches into itself, absorbing it into it's being, then flashing out of exhistance once again. An idea flowed into this realm as well, being quickly adopted by several energies and finding a new form in it, and an idea requireing a new word; "Voromniacy" Voro (l), Devour, Swallow, Greedily Eat Omnia (l) ; Everything, Completely, Perfectly Voromniacy (noun); A deep desire to own something, especially for the purposes of destroying or deconstructing it. Voromniac (informal noun); Someone possessed by voromniacy "The rich voromniac baught and burned a "Superman #1" before a croud of nerds." "The voromniac bought several unique watches online, disassembled them, and created a totally unique watch from the origional selection. He then stored the parts for later use. (In this instaint, the watches where indeed deconstructed. That is all that is required for Voromniacy, the search for an item to destroy it). The matter became semi-sentiant, possessed with the yurning to destroy everything they saw. Voromniacs by nature, they looked on, across the vast emptiness, and saw the Astral Sea. They wanted it. Needed its energies and materials. So they took lightning and made it into dowels. They took fire and moulded it into any shape. With Water they made rope, and with stones they made fixings. With their elements and of those we do not know, they waged war on the Astral Sea. The destruction was terrifying. Gods who were slain left their domains to their kin, or were lost all together, powers left without a ruler. Elementals who where slain had their foreign material adopted and forced into law wherever it could fit, or cast out if they could not. The gods took this chaos and wrapped it in law, and gave it the idea of "Serve". These being, chaos wrapped in law, became Angels. They, filled with Fire and Ice and Storm, fought back against the Elementals. But the elementals were too rabid, and their lines pushed further and further in. Soon, the gods needed something else, something greater, a different idea. So they took the bodies of the slain Elementals, and with as much law as they could muster, they focused on a single idea to hold back the enemies; "Control". And so, from this unholy union of the most powerful Law drenched in the most ravenous Chaos came a god of many names, though we shall refer to him as Asmodeus. Asmodeus, being a being born of Chaos, yet a servant to Law and Control, looked upon the Elemental Chaos the same way the Elementals gazed upon the Astral Sea; He wanted what they had. So he did what the gods had never done, and worked backwards from their creations. He took law, and instead wrapped it in chaos. If chaos wrapped in law makes an Angel, then taking law wrapped in Chaos will create a Devil. Devils waged war along side Angels, but they took whatever power they could, from angels, elementals, and even fallen gods. The lines were being pushed back, but as Asmodeus was reclaiming the Astral Sea, he kept a large portion of the Elemental Chaos and adopted it, creating the Nine Hells of the Astral Sea. This is his domain, where devils are born, raised, trained, and tortured into submission under their lord of control. The gods became worried. Asmodius was being too controling, even trying to order the other gods and take as many domains from fallen gods as possible. The gods conspired against him, and locked him in the deepest depths of his creation, the Nine Hells. The devils too where locked away, and thrown to the far side of the Astral Sea. Meanwhile, the elementals had pulled back parts of the Law and material of the Astral sea, and began experimenting. They took a large glob of the law, and gazed upon its wonder. They saw some pieces too bright, and flung them away into parallell space. They took the peices too dark and shoved them away too. What was left was the Material Plane, the Mortal Plane. Earth. The other two would become the Possitive and Negative Energy planes, worlds not of Chaos or Law. The gods saw this creation. They saw the potential. They saw greatness. They agreed upon one idea, one last decison. They would wage war on this plane, for whomever controls it controls all the planes. And so they dropped down unto the earth, and waged war. But the gods had a secret. They bent down to the dust and stone and trees, and different gods whispered different words to them, words of Power, words of ideas. "Sturdy" said Moradin to the stones, who became Dwarves. "Swift" said Corellon to the wind, and came the Elves. "Strong" said Grummush to the stagnant swamps and pools of blood, and came the Orcs. "Clever" said Yondalla to small critters, and changed they into Halflings. And to the dead god of men, who hath no name, and who's word is unknown, came Humans, known only for two things; Living short, but extremely potent lives. (Most smart men who know of these tales agree that the word is "Choice", but they know not who said it, nor to what. Men come from everywhere, and seek everything, worship whomever they wish. The scholars do not know, but druidic circles say that men, along side the rest of the animals, where a creation of Nature. But, as you will come to read, when nature forced the gods out, the primal spirits agreed to shout "Choice" as one, and so men sprung from every corner of the world.) As spoiled above, as gods fell and mortals died, their blood and tears sank into the ground. Finally, an idea came not from the gods, but from the spirits of mortals and animals. A word of power so potent, it changed the course of the war. For mortals do not believe in the power of a single word, or a single voice. They believe in the power of many voices, and many words. The primal spirits speak in poems. "BEGONE, FATHER CHAOS AND MOTHER LAW. LEAVE US ALONE. YOU ARE BANISHED FROM WALKING UPON THE EARTH. NONE OF YOU SHALL ENTER. GO BACK TO THE CORNERS OF THE UNIVERSE FROM WHICH YOU CAME. FOR WE HAVE WEPT, AND WE SHALL WEAP NO LONGER. *BEGONE* AND NEVER RETURN. " And so, the Gods and Elementals where Banished from the planet. And, for a still moment, nothing moved. Not the seas, not the wind, not the mortals nor the creatures of the sky, land or deep. All was quiet. The earth was free.
