Helmikuussa Tammisen Nextory-tilaus jäädytettiin, koska tilillä oli kuunneltu äänikirjoja ”epätavallisen paljon”.

Tammisella oli joulukuussa vaihtanut toisesta äänikirjapalvelusta Nextoryn rajattoman kuuntelun tilaukseen, jota yritys mainostaa sloganilla ”Lue ja kuuntele niin paljon kuin haluat”.

Tamminen jakaa äänikirjatilauksen perheenjäsentensä kanssa. Yhdelle Nextory-tilille saa liitettyä yhteensä neljä profiilia.

Nextoryn asiakaspalvelija kertoi Tammiselle liiallisen kuuntelun voivan vaikuttaa kielteisesti muiden tilaajien käyttökokemukseen.

– Välttääksesi tilisi rajoittamisen sinun ei pidä käyttää palvelua yhtä paljon kuin tässä kuussa, asiakaspalvelija Julie ohjeistaa.

Kuluttajariitalautakunnan puheenjohtajan Pauli Ståhlbergin mukaan Nextoryn toiminnassa on kyse sopimusrikkomuksesta.

– Hän on tehnyt sopimuksen, että saa kuunnella vaikka 24 tuntia vuorokaudessa, Ståhlberg muistuttaa.

Det är väldigt sällan att jag har någon anledning för att dela inlägg på svenska men idag händer det.

Allt detta för att förklara att jag ville recensera tjänsten/appen Nextory. Jag deltar som testpilot via Smartson och får prova tjänsten kostnadsfritt.

Jag bestämde mig att använda just det här kontot på grund av att det är typ det enda icke-privat konto som jag egentligen har.

T.o.m. idag har jag hunnit lyssna på en och en halv ljudbock, men appen var lätt att använda, och jag var positivt överraskad över detaljerna i de under-kategorierna på den sci-fi/fantasi kategorin.

Att appen själv bör vara lätt att använda är enligt mig en självklarhet; och den var det. Enkelt att hitta böcker, och även om jag använt sökord på svenska dök upp resultat på engelska som var egentligen bra.

Min enda klagomål är att det finns ingen webbläsare-version; eller när man logga in på Nextorys webbplats, det finns ingen möjlighet att lyssna eller ens läsa bok. För min del går det bra att bara lyssna på mobilen men det är inte jättebra att läsa mycket genom en så liten skärm; utan surfplatta det blir dock den enda val.

På ett generellt sätt tycker jag att antalet böcker på appen var bra, och jag hittade några böcker som jag skulle nog inte ha lyssnat på annars. Min svärmor fick Nextory-abbonemang som present för några år sen och hon använder den fortfarande och tycker också att det är jättebra. Definitivt vart att testa i alla fall.

You can kinda tell in each discussion page how many people are audiobook readers compared to other formats by how big of an opinion they have on the audible situation with the secret projects

I rarely use audiobooks and despise audible with a passion, so I am mostly kinda glad at the middle finger to amazon. But it is very interesting hearing from people who actually use it regularly

To be clear the reason I despise audible as a company is because it’s so tied to their subscription service

If I want to purchase a certain audiobook from them and not get the subscription service, it doesn’t show up in their app at all. Neither the books that I have paid for myself at full price or the books that other family members have and I should have access to through family sharing. Only through logging in on a specific website (not audible it’s some other library part of amazon that I can never find on the first try) on a computer is it possible to access the audiobooks and listen to them. Same website on phone or ipad gives you nothing. That is impractical to the point that I only ever do it when it’s something I need for school and have no other option, no matter how much I pay not only do I not actually own the product but I can’t even access it properly. It wouldn’t be a problem if they had competitors where I could buy them instead, but as established a lot of books are only sold through amazon. Kindle works fine with 0 issues so it’s very specifically audible that is trash in that department

Digital Detox

I’m almost at a week of my digital detox (I haven’t decided how long I wanna keep this up) no instagram, no TikTok and no YouTube, no Reddit no social media!!!!! and it’s been easier than I thought but that’s cause I downloaded Nextory so I’ve been listening to audio books and let me tell you guys it’s so refreshing to listen to a book.

It’s different from YouTube cause with YouTube you’re still bombarded with so much information especially for me cause I’m listening to productivity and law of attraction content and I’m getting fatigued by the over consumption of the same information.

with books it’s a lot more relaxing. with YouTube it’s like I’m watching 58383 videos on how to change my life but then I don’t even apply it. my brain is fried and it needs rest so I’m listening to books I want to read, so it’s not productivity books or self help books. It’s so cozy.

im not kidding when I say I’m listening to some pretty silly books but it’s alright cause reading is a hobby so I don’t need to pressure myself to read educational books all the time. We deserve to have hobbies for no other reason than entertainment in a world where everyone expects us to turn our hobbies into million dollar businesses. can we please get a break from the constant grind mindset?

I listen to a book while I cook and clean the apartment and then when I’m done I’m not dopamine deprived.

thanks to this detox I’m finding so much energy to plan a lot of stuff I’ve pushed off. I’ve even slept more out of pure boredom but it’s been sleep I’ve needed. I ordered 4 different Halloween costumes and I’m honestly so proud of myself cause last year I didn’t have the energy or focus to research and put together a costume in time.
