I watched Ivan’s Childhood last night.
I understand it’s about how war kills childhood and all but JESUS IT DIDNT HAVE TO GO THAT HARD
I mean this all in a very positive way of course
I still haven’t recovered by the way
The historical context of this film being made during the Krushchev thaw and therefore being able to show war without glorifying it is super interesting also

Can you understand? Someone, somewhere, can you understand me a little, love me a little? For all my despair, for all my ideals, for all that - I love life. But it is hard, and I have so much - so very much to learn.
