it really cannot be overstated how terrible the 2000s internet was on the topic of making and spreading edgy shock content, something that was helped by the lawless and unregulated feel the internet used to have back then. videos like obeythewalrus or why you never became a dancer are proof of this, both using marginalized/victimized women to up their spooky creepy factor
