They freeze him in ice and thaw him out years later in hopes of recreating their meeting but better, perfect this time. And it doesn’t work so they do it again, rinse and repeat because good isn’t perfect and so it’s never enough. Every interview the same question—what is the meaning of life?—and the answers are good but never perfect so they ask again. Ask again, again, again, keep asking, keep asking until you find the perfect answer. Time and time again they’re told happiness is other people, look around you, it’s in reach, but they don’t listen, they keep asking. None of it matters, it’s never enough, it’s not perfect. Ignore the good in search of perfect. Sabotage every relationship because none of them are perfect, break yourself so you’re perfect for someone else and watch as it falls apart and try again, again, again.

As much as i love coming up with stupid as hell names for Jimmy , I feel like . Refusing to name him or acknowledge his actions undermines the entire point of the game and what it's trying to comment on . Like , isn't the entire point to acknowledge what he did ? For him AND Curly to take responsibility ? I understand WHY it's not brought up as much , as it's a sensitive topic — but I feel like Jimmy should be more acknowledged by the mouthwashing community outside of "where's your shirt" memes , AUs that remove him or change him to be a good person (as much as I love the concepts , aside from . Lobotomized Jimmy . That one makes me feel REALLY icky) , or just him being tortured , as much as he deserves it . I'm not saying to like - stop it ENTIRELY , as I can't control that , I'm just saying that we should acknowledge him a bit more in a serious manner like we do the rest of the cast .

you ever have a conundrum where you have opinion X on a controversial topic but everyone else who thinks opinion X is Rancid whereas everyone with opinion Y is broadly fine so you think "hmm maybe I've not got my head screwed on right about this and am missing something," but it's a charged enough subject that you can't really ask anyone with opinion Y why opinion X is wrong without them assuming you're being combative. or is it just me.

since  we're  talking  about  lavenoor,  let  me  just  say  how  ridiculous  it  is  how  she  demands  permission  before  allowing  anyone  to  write  a  fanfic  based  on  her  idea,  while  showing  zero  interest  whatsoever  in  the  original  source  material.

she  complains  about  having  to  gut  each  of  movie's  plot  lines  because  otherwise  the  fanfic  would  be  too  long  (skill  issue),  but  she  hardly  ever  bothers  to

a).  truly  examine  the  films  she’s  writing  about  in  depth.  instead  of  spending  several  seasons  building  a  special  coffin  out  of  a  delicate  material  for  their  daughter-figure  as  a  parallel  to  when  they  first  discovered  her  napping  on  their  beds,  the  seven  dwarfs  just…  have  a  human-sized  expensive  glass  coffin  laying  around.  as  you  do.

b).  replace  the  content  with  anything  as  interesting  or  worthwhile.  this  leads  to  arcs  like  tyrian’s,  where  the  only  black  love  interest  is  cooped  up  in  his  house  taking  care  of  the  mc  while  she  yaps  his  ear  off  about  his  problems.

(character  foils?  metaphors?  subtle  themes  interwoven  into  the  narrative?  what  are  those!  i,  for  one,  enjoy  it  when  the  author  disregards  my  intelligence  and  instead  requires  the  main  character  to  gaze  directly  into  the  camera  and  declare  unequivocally  what  the  core  problem  is.  i’m  an  idiot  who  doesn't  educate  herself  on  societal  issues  or  read  anything  other  than  light  romance  stories,  and  anyone  who  criticizes  her  handling  of  these  topics  is  simply  lashing  out  because  they  feel  attacked.  yep!)

like,  why  do  you  care  so  much  when  someone  "steals"  your  premise  if  you're  not  going  to  follow  the  plot  and  drastically  alter  each  of  the  main  characters  to  be  darker  in  the  most  uninteresting  way  possible?  some  of  us  actually  like  and  respect  the  source  material  y’know
